I never go out during the National Day holiday because I don't want to face the crowds, but Xiangshawan breaks all my worries. There are two very distinctive hotels, Lotus and Fusha, which are all-inclusive. Not only are the food, drinks, accommodation, entertainment, outdoor activities, and transportation to various islands included, but also tickets to Xiangshawan Scenic Area, cable cars, Polaris ATVs, camel riding, sand socks, etc. The scenic area also has a holiday-exclusive channel, and guests with hotel bracelets can come and play at any time.

It is a very good attraction in China. I just want to say that you must stay in a resort hotel, so that the price includes food, accommodation and transportation. There is a car to pick you up and drop you off, which is very convenient. You can book a price on the official website. We stayed at Lotus.

The national 5A scenic spot is divided into two parks, Xiansha Island and Yuesha Island. You need to take a cable car and then a shuttle bus to enter. We bought a package ticket for Xiansha Island, which includes many recreational projects. During the festival, there were a lot of people queuing up to take the bus and play the projects. If you play by yourself, it is very spacious, the sand is very fine, and the scenery is good. The scenic area is also relatively clean, with good supporting facilities, including awnings, restaurants, and toilets.

The sand here can sing! It is still a little far from Ordos City. Coming here gives you the feeling of going from an oasis to a desert. The sand is fine and there are many entertainment activities. Just be sure to pay attention to sun protection!

Here are some practical tips. I just went there this morning. You can start from Baotou or Ordos, where there are one-day tour groups or shuttle buses. The shuttle bus runs less frequently. You can call the station for details. I started from Daqi, the closest place to Xiangshawan, but the toll is very expensive. Because it is the off-season, the one-day tours from Daqi are not grouped, and there is no public transportation in Xiangshawan. You can only take a taxi. If you are lucky, you can share a taxi. The one-way taxi is 40 (basically the agreed price). You can ask a car to pick you up on the return trip. It takes about half an hour from Daqi city to Xiangshawan. The scenic spot starts working at 8 o'clock. I arrived at 7:30 in the morning and enjoyed the whole desert alone. If you only come to Xiangshawan for sightseeing, it is not worth it. The ticket + cable car is 130, and the scenery is not as good as the Shahu in Yinchuan, let alone the Tarim Desert in Xinjiang. If you want to play, you have to go to the "island". The so-called island is the amusement area. Except for Fusha Island and Liansha Island for leisure accommodation, people usually go to Xiansha Island and Yuesha Island. Each island costs one fee, and the price is very expensive. Yuesha Island is mainly for the elderly and children. There are sand sculptures, water play, performances, etc. Most people go to Xiansha Island. There are a series of desert projects here. The package is 330, and 270 without camel riding. If you have ridden a camel before, it is recommended that you do not ride it, because the camel ride is very short, just a small circle, about 5 minutes, which is particularly uneconomical. Xiansha Island can experience zip lines, sand motorcycles, adventure cars, track bikes, as well as free projects such as golf, swings, desert football, etc. At specific times, tightrope walking and acrobatic performances are also required. Pay attention to the park bulletin board for details. Finally, before returning to the tourist center, you will pass by sand sliding. It is 20 yuan at your own expense, not included in the package. If you have never played it, you can try it. The slope is quite big. I suggest you rent sand socks. The sand in Xiangsha Bay is very strong and it is difficult to clean it in your shoes. I knocked my shoes for a long time to save 10 yuan, but they were still not clean.

Generally, tour groups and self-driving cars arrive at 10 o'clock. If you don't queue up, you can play around the whole Xiansha Island in 2 hours. I have completed the task before people come up. You can walk to the sand dunes with few people or deep in the desert to take pictures.

Overall, I feel that Xiangshawan is very expensive and not cost-effective. The experience is also average, not as good as Shapotou in Ningxia.

Before leaving, I specially checked the geographical information. Xiangshawan belongs to Kubuqi Desert. The desert in my imagination is a place with endless yellow sand. After getting on the bus, we kept heading towards Ordos. But the greenery looked good along the way. It was less than 50 kilometers away from the end when the tour guide arranged for us to have a meal. As a result, I felt that the greenery here was better than many cities in southern my country. As my country continues to march into the desert, perhaps in many years, the desert will gradually become a scarce resource.



After all, we arrived at Xiangshawan on the second day of the National Day. As it is a 5A-level scenic spot, there are more people entering the gate of the scenic spot than when we went to Huitengxile Grassland. The queue is about 20-30 minutes, but it turned out that the wait was worth it. For those who have never been to the desert, even if we don't play any other activities, we can play in the desert for a whole day. Before entering the desert, it is recommended to rent a pair of sand socks for 10 yuan to prevent sand from getting into your shoes and socks.

Extremely rubbish! You have to pay to enter the door, and then you have to buy a cable car ticket to enter the desert. It is divided into several islands. It was a rare day with moderate rain, which didn't stop until 1pm. I only went to Yuesha Island. It's a pity that I didn't go to Xiansha Island. The performances on Yuesha Island were average. There was plenty of time. You can visit two islands in one day.

The scenic spot has a parking fee of 10 RMB. We bought a package ticket for Xiansha Island. Because there are many things to do there, we booked this one for 330 RMB per person, including camel riding. There is also Yuesha Island, which is suitable for leisure. The most fun thing to do on a desert carnival day is the zipline. My sister is still very interested. The car that crosses the desert feels unreal, like the scene in a computer game. Xiangshawan Scenic Area is a paradise for children. The ticket is very expensive, 2000 yuan per day for adults, 40% off for children, including food, accommodation and all entertainment activities. It seems acceptable after calculating it this way, so let's be rich for once, haha.

In the desert, you must bring some dry food, water, sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses, hats, and masks. You can bring your own sand socks or buy them before entering Xiangsha Bay. It takes about 10 minutes to ride a camel in the desert. The ultraviolet rays in the desert are still quite strong. When getting on and off the camel, the camel will rise and fall more, and you need to hold it with both hands. The rest of the time, it is still relatively stable when walking, but the locals will still strictly require you to put away your camera and mobile phone to avoid falling into the sand and damaging the machine. There is a charge for taking photos on the camel, 15 yuan per photo, which is not too expensive.

You must buy a package ticket for Xiansha Island or Yuesha Island, otherwise you can only see sand when you enter, nothing else. The introduction of the scenic spot is not very user-friendly, you need to study the guide yourself. Xiansha Island is mainly for sightseeing, and Yuesha Island is not much to see when it comes to sightseeing, there is only a sand castle to see. The most important thing is to play in the water, various water projects for children. In fact, it's nothing, just moving the water project to the desert.

Generally, the commercial atmosphere is too strong, the ticket price is not worth it, and only package tickets can be sold. The circle of riding a camel on Xiansha Island is only 400 meters, and many camels are tired and thin. The experience time of each project is not long. However, public places such as toilets are cleaner than expected. More suitable for children to play

I like Inner Mongolia very much, I like the prairie here, and the feeling of freedom here. I will come back again.

It has been developed into a giant resort and has lost its original appearance. Instead, it is better to move away from the core of the scenic area.

This scenic spot is really good. The main reason is that we spent a lot of money here (not showing off our wealth) and stayed in the hotel in the scenic spot. This is the key, because the holiday guests in the scenic spot do not need to queue up for any project, which saves us a lot of time in the desert, eliminating the need for frying and grilling, and we can play all the projects with time.

Compared with the two islands, Xiansha Island has more recreational facilities, such as zip lines, sand motorcycles, off-road vehicles, sand sliding, and camel riding.

The transition between the two islands allows you to do surfing, ride a camel, and there is also a small train, so this scenic spot is really well designed and creative.

If you just want to see the desert scenery, I don't recommend it. It's far worse than Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, and Ningxia! If you want to have fun in the desert, it's not as good as Shapotou in Ningxia! The key is all kinds of chain consumption, deliberately setting up multiple desert islands, charging for each area, it feels like a tool for the locals to make money, I strongly recommend not to go!

There are many attractions in Xiangshawan. Before we came, the tour guide said there were swings here. Originally, adults would bring children to play, but it turned out that adults always had more fun than children! There are parasols in the desert, and it is much cooler under the umbrellas. The most impressive thing for me is sand sliding. The slide is very long and quite inclined, and sliding down is like sliding down a slide.

Compared to the other options, it is cheaper to join a tour group. It is really beautiful to take the cable car into the desert and see the beautiful scenery. It will be even more beautiful if you can see the desert under the sunset. Noon is the hottest time of the day, and the sand temperature is around 40 degrees.

The Xiangshawan Scenic Area, known as the Disney in the Desert, is a mature holiday and leisure area with various amusement facilities, which is widely welcomed by tourists. After getting off the surfing car, I took the small train. The small train is very slow, much slower than the K-prefix train. The sand in the desert is so fine that I can't hold it if I grab a handful, and the sand slides down. The sand is golden yellow, much better than the sand on the beach. Passing by a leisure resort, there are swings and other recreational facilities, swimming pools, and lounge chairs. We played on the swings and lay on the lounge chairs. It was a comfortable life. At almost three o'clock in the afternoon, everyone entered the Ordos wedding performance venue to watch the performance. It also gave us a general understanding of the Mongolian wedding customs. Riding a camel is different from riding a horse. The camel bends its body under the command of the camel officer. Tourists can ride between the two humps by themselves and grab the iron ring in front to keep stable. Riding a camel is a bit difficult. A camel team of six people are all tied together by ropes, and someone in the front is leading them forward. Under the command of the camel officer, the camel baby first raised his neck, then raised his hump, and the whole person rode high. The camel began to move. Riding a horse is stable, and riding a camel sways left and right, but as long as you hold the iron ring firmly, it is safe.

The sky was clear and blue, but when we were halfway through the desert, there was a sudden storm and a small sandstorm. It was really amazing. In addition, tickets require cash or credit card, and Alipay is not supported.

When you enter the Xiangsha Bay, you can rent shoe covers, which are really necessary because the sand is super hot. Wearing them can also protect your shoes. The key is that they are not expensive, 10 yuan/pair, blue for men and red for women. The shoe covers are below the knees, a bit like girls' long boots in winter. You only need to take them off when riding the desert track bike, and you have to wear them all the time. The body odor of a camel is indeed... a bit heavy... Am I the only one who thinks it's not easy to ride? Haha, because the desert is not flat, and when you sit on it, you can only hold the U-shaped handle on the camel's hump. It's still a bit high when you stand up, and it sways back and forth quite a lot, and my hands are almost cramped. It's the off-season now, there are not many people, and you can play each project as soon as you arrive. It is said that during the peak season, you have to queue for one or two hours for each project

You can really feel the heat waves when you arrive at Xiangshawan. I was really excited for the first hour in the desert, but then I was exhausted by the sand all around me! It was meaningless...

It's like Disney in the desert, it's so fun, with thrilling desert surfing, exciting sand sliding, and dynamic desert singing and dancing. Everything is wonderful. Walking in the desert, every step is full of fun. When you are tired, you can watch a desert show in the theater. When you are thirsty, you can have a cup of mellow milk tea. When you are hungry, there are snacks. One day is really not enough to play in Xiangsha Bay, but sun protection and sand protection are very important. It is best to prepare sand socks, sand-proof neck covers and sunscreen in advance.

Picture 2 below is a wooden platform leading to the desert. To prevent sand from getting into your shoes, it is best to rent a pair of foot covers. However, there is no provision for children in Xiangsha Bay, so you can prepare them in advance.

Long-sleeved sun protection clothing and sunglasses are essential to block the glaring sunlight.

The sand at noon is white in the sun, and it is not hot standing in the shade. This overturned my perception that July in the desert shade is much cooler than in the Central Plains.

Sandboarding is the most interesting self-entertainment project here. Other desert racing activities are over in a few minutes, but this one can be played for a long time. There are skateboards of different sizes for sale. Mu'er played for a long time and was reluctant to leave until dusk.

Be sure to wait until the last batch of camel caravans leave. The desert scenery at dusk will be deeply imprinted in your mind and you will never forget it.

Tips: Be sure to bring enough water when you go to Xiangshawan. Although there is a place to collect boiled water, it is far from enough to supply the water consumed by the body. When you are extremely thirsty, you have to wait for the water to cool down slowly, which is really unpleasant.

The desert at five in the morning is quiet and gentle. I felt the sunrise in my sleep and got up immediately to experience the desert sunrise. It is recommended to play desert motorcycles!

1. Baotou - Xiangshawan: Take a taxi at Baotou Airport or Baotou East Railway Station, and you will reach the scenic spot in about 50 minutes. Or take the long-distance bus from Baotou to Dongsheng at Baotou Long-distance Bus Station East Station (500 meters north of Baotou East Railway Station) and get off at Xiangshawan Interchange. Go 3 kilometers to the scenic spot.



2. Ordos - Xiangshawan: You can take a taxi from Ordos Airport or Ordos Dongsheng District Railway Station, and it takes about 50 minutes to reach the scenic spot. Or you can take the Dongsheng to Baotou long-distance bus at Dongsheng District Long-distance Bus Station and get off at Xiangshawan Interchange. Go 3 kilometers to the scenic spot.



3. Hohhot - Xiangshawan: You can take a taxi from Hohhot Airport or Hohhot Railway Station to the scenic spot in about 3 hours. Or you can take a long-distance bus from Hohhot to Baodongsheng at Hohhot Long-distance Bus Station and get off at Xiangshawan Interchange. Go 3 kilometers to the scenic spot

In the summer, the desert is named Xiangshawan because of the rustling sound when you slide on the sand. It is just right to go there in July and August.

If you don't go to the desert in Inner Mongolia, you'll have wasted your trip. The desert is vast and boundless. There are many fun activities, such as sand sliding, desert jeep, cable car, camel riding, etc.

Small-scale company event. The desert sand is really fine. We arrived at night and saw the beautiful starry sky. We stayed in a hotel outside the desert, and the food was not very good. We rented a car to watch the sunrise in the morning. It was very cold, but it was exciting to see the SUV and jeep going over the sand dunes. Breakfast was 10 yuan per person, very clean, and the steamed buns, fermented bean curd, and radish strips tasted super good. Ropeway No. 3 is very long, slowly transitioning from the hill to the desert. The package ticket is 190, including track bike, motorcycle, and zipline (I was overweight and didn't slide, sad). I dug a big sand pit and felt like a baby.

Just taking pictures makes me tired enough, and I can't play any project. We lived in Hohhot that day, which is a 3-hour drive from Xiangshawan. We spent all our time on the road. We didn't see the sunset with the group. The baby was unhappy. You can choose to live in Baotou, which will save two-thirds of the journey and give you more time to play. Don't worry about being tired in the desert, because there is a cable car, and then a desert transport vehicle, and it doesn't take any effort to reach the desert. If it is a warm season, I personally don't think it is necessary to wear anti-sand shoe covers, because the sand is very fine, just barefoot on it, I only wear a light slipper! The entertainment venues are all paved with wooden boards, and it won't be tiring to walk over. But the distance between the projects is really far. If you want to play entertainment projects, you can buy a package ticket, which includes beach bikes, high-altitude slides, camel riding and beach motorcycles, bumper cars, and Inner Mongolia special performances. However, each project takes about an hour to queue during the peak season. It is recommended to play after three o'clock, because after four o'clock, the tour groups will leave and there will be fewer people. Xiangsha Bay is really well developed and will definitely make you feel a relaxing and happy trip.

It's boring, really boring. The ticket for Xiansha Island for two people is 660, and sandboarding is 20 per person. The price of a chartered car is 550 for a round trip between Hohhot and Xiangsha Bay, which is too expensive. Don't join a tour group!!! The contract itinerary is to go to Xiangshawan and includes tickets and cableway fees. Later, the tour guide said various things, and changed the itinerary to refund you 40 plus the contract price and other entertainment projects to let everyone go to the place she said (the ticket to Xiangshawan is 80 and the cableway is 40. Then the tour guide said that the place you go to is at your own expense, and the pass only gives you the contract price!), The place you go to is a desert amusement park called Desert World at the outermost of Kubuqi Desert! It takes two hours to walk to Xiangshawan unless you can find a car to go there. There is no spectacular scenery of the desert there, just some projects. Well, joining a tour group is especially disgusting for you, and they also take you shopping (there is no shopping activity when signing the tour). Knowing that you don't buy, they take you to the consumption attractions where they take commissions. (Attached is the information of the local tour guide surnamed Wang. Expensive! Tickets are really expensive! For me who has traveled all over the country, the tickets to the scenic spots in Inner Mongolia are really expensive... The ticket to the scenic spot + the cable car is a must for 130... However, there is nothing to play, only sand... If you want to have some desert activities, you have to go to the island. It is cost-effective to buy at the entrance of the scenic spot! The 320 package includes camel riding. You have to wait six hours to enter the island with the group-purchased tickets! This is an important reminder!

About the location: Xiangshawan is located in Dalate Banner, in the middle of the triangle area of Baotou, Ordos and Hohhot. Xiangshawan is a desert park for entertainment, leisure and vacation developed in the Kubuqi Desert. It can be said to be a corner of the Kubuqi Desert. You can take a car to Dalate Banner, and charter a car to Xiangshawan 20 kilometers the next day for a day of fun. You can also take a car directly from the above three areas to Xiangshawan and stay in Xiangshawan.

About transportation: We chartered a car from Dalat Banner. I asked the staff at Dalat Banner Bus Station and found out that the price was 100 yuan for round trip, with no other hidden charges. We picked you up on time and sent you to the hotel. We must emphasize this point clearly. We said that we had already bought the tickets and only needed the pick-up. Don't be greedy and look for those car drivers who say they will take you to the scenic spot for free and you only need to buy tickets from them.

Regarding ticket selection: The entrance ticket to the Xiangshawan Scenic Area is 130, which only includes the cableway and a small desert area. There are also other package combinations, including 4 islands in Xiangshawan, entertainment experience on Xiansha Island, leisure water entertainment on Yuesha Island, and accommodation and vacation on Liansha Island and Fusha Island. So the real fun is Xiansha and Yuesha. The two islands plus the entrance ticket package are 420/person, including all the entertainment facilities inside and the round-trip transportation between the two islands. I have been to the Mingsha Mountain in Dunhuang. I feel that the scale, scenery, facilities and services of Xiangsha Bay are much worse than those of Mingsha Mountain. I remember that it cost 100 RMB to ride a camel for half an hour in Mingsha Mountain. Here, you have to pack a few useless projects together for 300 RMB for only four or five minutes. However, the desert is still my love, there is no doubt about that.
