Confucius Temple is a very famous tourist attraction in Nanjing. Every year, the nationally famous "Confucius Temple Fair" is held here! Confucius is enshrined in the Confucius Temple. It also displays many major events related to Confucius and his disciples, as well as the content of the ancient imperial examination! The area of Confucius Temple is not large, and the visiting time can be controlled within about 1-2 hours! During holidays, there are activities of ringing bells and beating drums to pray for blessings in the Confucius Temple. Interested friends can go and ask! The ticket for Confucius Temple is 60 yuan per person, which can be purchased at the window on the west side of the main entrance! There are still many ways to come to Confucius Temple. You can take the bus, and there are still many transportation routes. You can also take Metro Line 3 to get off at the "Confucius Temple" station and walk to Confucius Temple in a few minutes! After visiting Confucius Temple, you can visit the Imperial Examination Museum next to it, go to Confucius Temple Food Street to eat some local specialties, and take a painted boat to visit Qinhuai River! It should be noted that the Confucius Temple is very crowded during holidays. Nanjing Confucius Temple is located on Gongyuan Street on the north bank of Qinhuai River in Qinhuai District, Nanjing, and west of Jiangnan Gongyuan. It is Nanjing Confucius Temple, Nanjing Confucian Temple, and Wenxuanwang Temple. It is a place for worshipping and sacrificing Confucius. It is China's first national highest institution of learning and one of the four major Confucian temples in China. It is a hub of ancient Chinese culture and a place where Jinling's history and culture converge. It was not only the cultural and educational center of Nanjing in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, but also the cultural and educational building complex that ranks first among the southeastern provinces. It is now an important part of the Confucius Temple Qinhuai Scenic Belt.

We arrived in Nanjing in the evening, and the first stop was Confucius Temple. It hadn't snowed when we got there, but within half an hour, it started to snow heavily, and soon there was snow on the ground. There were so many people queuing up to buy tickets for the cruise, and we had old duck vermicelli soup in the scenic area, which was really unpalatable. If you just walk around, it's really not much different from Xitang, with similar snacks and small shops. If you have time, you still have to take a cruise to see the night view of Qinhuai River.

A landmark building in Nanjing and one of the four major Confucian temples in China

The historical imprint of cultural heritage accumulated over thousands of years

Maybe they don't particularly agree with the Confucian Three Bonds.

Lazy people believe in the Taoist concept of doing nothing but achieving everything

Respect Western humanism and advocate individual liberation

It may also be that their education level is limited and they cannot understand it.

Not interested in cultural relics

I feel that Confucius Temple is boring

Some attractions are so-called

I will regret not coming.

You will regret it when you come

Nanjing Confucius Temple, a holy place carrying the millennium Confucian culture, is not only a memorial to Confucius, but also a microcosm of the integration of Nanjing's history and modernity. Walking through it, the ancient and quaint buildings come into view, and every brick and tile reveals the traces of time. At night, the lights on the Qinhuai River and the painted boats on the water complement each other, which is magnificent. The snacks on the food street let the taste buds feel the charm of Nanjing. Confucius Temple is not only a tourist attraction, but also a cultural space that can nourish people's souls. Every visit can make people indulge in its unique charm.

The Confucius Temple is too commercialized and requires tickets, but surprisingly, the Huaxia Education Museum inside records the history of China's educational development and evolution in great detail. Friends who are taking comprehensive education exams or are interested in pedagogy can go and have a look.

This is the most popular tourist attraction in Nanjing, a 5A scenic spot. Even on non-weekends, it is still crowded. The scenic area is centered on the Qinhuai River, "China's No. 1 Historical and Cultural River" within ten miles, with the Confucius Temple as the center. It extends from the East Water Gate in the east to the West Water Gate in the west. It is known as "the most prosperous in Jiangnan for clothing and cultural relics; the most elegant and graceful in the country".

Nanjing Confucius Temple has now become a place where vendors pursue profits. From my personal experience, every store is a scam. If you are not prepared to spend a lot of money, it is not recommended to spend money there.

As for the scenery, it is better to travel alone in the mountains. It is called Confucius Temple, but there is no cultural atmosphere at all, and the ancient-style architecture is really uncomfortable.

The various services inside make you feel like a fool if you don't come to eat.

I had breakfast there and it cost 80. Is this in Dubai? When I asked about the price, the other party avoided the question.

As a core attraction on the Qinhuai-Confucius Temple line, the physical ticket is 40 yuan per ticket, and the ticket can be kept as a souvenir for future recollection (smirking bee). There are many staff members dressed in Hanfu at the entrance, which matches the atmosphere of Confucius Temple very well. You can take photos with them. After entering, you will see the statue of Confucius, and there are many people burning incense and praying on both sides. The Confucius Temple is not big, and the surrounding buildings are mostly related to rituals and music and Confucius' life. You can finish it quickly.

The Qinhuai River is the source of the ancient Nanjing culture. The inner Qinhuai River, with a total length of 4.2 kilometers from Dongshuitou to Xishuiguan, has been a place where prominent families have lived since the Six Dynasties. It is a gathering place for merchants, scholars, and Confucianism, and is known as the "Gold Powder of the Six Dynasties".

The beauty of Confucius Temple at midnight really amazed me. There were fewer people and less noise, but more tranquility and beauty without people. I was alone in the ancient street, looking at the empty street, and stopped here...

The night view of Confucius Temple is very beautiful, with bright lights. I bought a ticket and walked around alone, following the crowd to look around. When I felt bored, I went out from the back door. The shops in the alleys have very unique things.

By First meeting |

We bought the package tickets online. When we went to the ticket point to pick up the tickets, they said we could pick them up at the back. Then they said we had to go to another place. We finally found it, but they said we had to go back to the original place to pick up the tickets with a verification code. Do they think tourists are idle and simply don’t allow online ticket purchases? This is the first time I’ve encountered such a weird thing😡

After nightfall, we set out for Confucius Temple. It started to drizzle. To prevent the heavy rain, I brought a broken umbrella with me, which soaked me.

Actually, I was not well prepared for my visit to Confucius Temple. I didn't make any travel plans at the beginning and didn't know what attractions there were. Moreover, I went there at night, and many attractions were closed. So, in my eyes, Confucius Temple was just a pretty ordinary commercial street (I later read the reviews online, and it was actually true - -||).

As for the snacks in Confucius Temple, I didn’t try them. I feel that the snacks here are all the same.

One side of the Confucius Temple is full of shops selling goods. Needless to say, the goods inside are exactly the same as those in each scenic area, and they are all goods from Yiwu.

There is a bell when you enter the Confucius Temple. It is said that ringing the bell can make your wishes come true, but such things are not true if you believe in them.

Because of the reputation of Confucius Temple, many students who are about to take exams will come here to make a wish. I hope everyone will pass the exams. The exams still depend on your own efforts.

The ancient gatehouse, the bustling crowds, and the brightly lit pedestrian streets all tell the story of the city's ancient prosperity.

How should I put it? The experience of traveling with a tour group was terrible. Luckily, we were able to visit all the places. Isn’t traveling just you visiting my city and I visiting your city?

By Xueqi's Evil |

Although the Confucius Temple is very famous, it is too small to attract many tourists. We walked very slowly and visited the temple in detail, but it took less than 20 minutes from the entrance to the exit. It is worth mentioning that there is a bell in the Confucius Temple. It is said that ringing the bell can help you pass the imperial examination. It is not attractive to those of us who no longer take exams, but many parents still let their children line up to ring the bell.

Confucius Temple is a bit like Nanluoguxiang and Houhai in Beijing, with a strong commercial atmosphere, but it is also a scene in Nanjing. It is okay to go for a walk and feel it. There are many dim sum shops like Jasmine Tong on the street. You can buy enough in the store and the shipping is free, so you don’t have to bring it back yourself. I searched and found that most of these small and fresh shops have Taobao stores. It depends on personal preference to choose the purchase. I bought the Yuhua tea cake from Jasmine Tong, and it tasted good.

By Full of money |

Confucius Temple, Fuzi Temple, you can go in and burn incense and pray for blessings.

By Big Bad Wolf |

It's too commercial to charge a ticket to see the place where you study.

By Elegant |

When I first entered, I felt that it was similar to Shanghai Chenghuang Temple. The 20 yuan per cup of sugar cane juice was even more expensive than Xiamen Zhongshan Road. I don't like sweets very much, so I could only eat a few bites of osmanthus cake and plum cake. If you want to eat snacks like me but are too lazy to find them, you can go in a little further. There are many snack shops along the Qinhuai River behind Jiangnan Gongyuan. I recommend the sugar taro seedlings, which have the taste of lotus root powder but are not greasy. Drink less water when you go in, and there are very few toilets with long queues.

By Smiling eyes |

Together with the Qinhuai River, it is an AAAAA-level scenic spot with free admission. It is not worthy of its name. It is similar to the snack street near the university town. The commercialization overshadows the cultural atmosphere. It is not recommended to go.

By Golee |

Since its reconstruction in 1984, Confucius Temple has received more than 80 million tourists, with tens of thousands of people visiting for sightseeing and shopping every day, and up to 300,000 people during the peak tourist season. People are shoulder to shoulder, reluctant to leave, and enjoy the charming Qinhuai scenery.

The current Confucius Temple has become an important attraction in the ten-mile Qinhuai scenic belt with rich Ming and Qing architectural styles. It is centered on the Dacheng Hall, with a north-south axis and symmetrical buildings on the left and right, covering an area of about 26,300 square meters. It has now been listed as a municipal cultural relic protection unit.

By J·y |

To be honest, there is really nothing to see in the Dacheng Hall and Jiangnan Imperial Examination Hall of Confucius Temple. They are just of historical value. Since we visited them as part of the package, we didn't spend much time there. It took us less than an hour to visit these two places.

By Wang Dake 🤔 |

The Confucius Temple is very small and there is nothing worth taking pictures of. If you are not super interested in traditional culture, you may consider not going in.

By March light rain |

Confucius is enshrined inside. There is a large statue of Confucius as soon as you enter the door, but admission is required, so it is not worth going in.

By Chenchen |

As night falls, the lights come on, and the lights are shining

The streets were occupied by crowds. In the afternoon, there was no one five meters away from me, but at night, there was a circle of people half a meter away from me.

Baked Osmanthus Cake (10 yuan) is chewy on the outside and soft on the inside, with glutinous rice and osmanthus sauce sandwiched in between. It is a bit like baked glutinous rice cake, but not as soft and sticky as baked glutinous rice cake.

The crab roe soup dumplings (20 yuan each) are really a rip-off. The skin is as thick as uncooked dumpling skin. The meat filling inside is a little more than that of ordinary soup dumplings, but there is not much crab roe. The soup is rich and fresh. Anyway, I just sucked up the soup and threw it away.

By Gradually Enlightened |

Walking into the Confucius Temple, we saw the magnificent buildings, numerous shops and restaurants. The tour guide led us along the central axis to visit the Lingxing Gate, Dacheng Gate, Dacheng Hall, Mingde Hall, Zunjing Pavilion, Kuixing Pavilion and other Ming and Qing style landscapes that combine temples and markets, and felt the strong Qinhuai style.

Entering the temple gate, the sound of bells rang out, and a melancholy and solemn atmosphere filled my heart. The ancient music echoing in the silence lingered in my ears. There were many tourists in the temple, but there was no loud talking, no shouting, no chasing and playing. Some stood quietly in front of Confucius, and some snuggled up to Confucius' disciples, as if they were recalling the past thousands of years ago and thinking about the future and reality. Heaven and earth, people and people are integrated in this temple where history and culture are integrated.

Standing in front of Confucius, I clasped my hands together, stared at him, and was speechless. What could I say in front of such a saint?

On both sides of the temple, there are bell towers and drum towers. The tower of worshipping the saint is brightly lit, with round drums inside, and it is quiet and silent.

The bell towers face each other, and the bronze bells are suspended in the air, with inscriptions carved on them. To increase the fun of visiting the temple, tourists can enjoy the bell ringing. One yuan for one ring, ten yuan for ten rings, and the ringing brings out auspicious wishes.

By Piglet0 jogging |

I didn't expect so many people in Confucius Temple at night. I was really drunk. The point is that it's not a festival. There is nothing here except shops. Qinhuai River is really small. The last time I saw so many people was when I went to Shanghai during the Spring Festival. I met them in Chenghuang Temple. People really pushed each other and felt a little scared. If you get separated at this time, you can't find it at all. There is no need to go to Wuyi Lane. There are only three words on the entrance of the lane. There is nothing inside. There is a jade shop and a memorial hall for Director Xie. You need to buy a ticket to enter.

By IreneZ_Wang Mumu |

The Confucius Temple has free tour guides, introducing some of Confucius' famous disciples. I learned that "Zi Gong", who appears frequently in the Analects, was originally named Duanmu Ci, a very fashionable name. Pay attention to your gestures when you worship the statue of Confucius. There is a free activity of copying the Analects in the temple, and you can write a copy as a souvenir. You can also visit the surrounding Jiangnan Gongyuan and the Imperial Examination Museum.

By A glass of regret |

It is recommended to play for 2+2 hours. Tickets are required, and student ID cards are available for discounts. When I arrived at the door, I happened to meet a tour guide, who gave free explanations and scheduled lectures, so I followed him. I felt that the explanations provided by the scenic spot were still very humanistic. There are Confucius' teachings to the world everywhere. Many students who are about to take the college entrance examination or their parents will come here specifically to pray. Red ribbons for blessing and high incense can be seen everywhere.

Confucius Temple is located on the bank of Qinhuai River, with pleasant scenery. Walking on the bank, you can feel the wind blowing for a thousand years. There are many rickshaw drivers at the entrance, and you can sit in them and drive around in Confucius Temple.

By Yukidoctor |

There are many places to eat in the Confucius Temple subway station, but I walked towards the Confucius Temple Pedestrian Street. Although the typhoon was coming, there were still many people on the Confucius Temple Pedestrian Street, and there were battery cars passing by, but all the cruise ships on the Qinhuai River were docked on the shore because all cruise ships were suspended today due to the typhoon.

Confucius Temple is a place to worship Confucius. Now our external cultural output is also called "Confucius Institute". The teachings of Confucius and Mencius are the chapel of Confucian classics.

But the irony is that wherever there is a Confucius Temple, there must be an Imperial Examination Hall, and wherever there is an Imperial Examination Hall, there will definitely be cheating in the imperial examinations and the rise of all kinds of people.

Next to Confucius Temple is the Qinhuai River, with its small boats and beautiful women in gauze. Perhaps this is the simplest motivation for studying hard for the imperial examination. Who doesn't like to be glamorous and live in luxury? Who doesn't like to be surrounded by singing and dancing? Human nature is something that even an old scholar cannot escape.

Now it is just a snack street. At night, there are colorful lights around the river and cruise ships playing around. It is extremely boring.

By Big face wang wang wang |

Mists shroud the cold water and the moon shrouds the sands. I moored at Qinhuai near a tavern at night. The merchant women knew not the hatred of the lost country, and they sang the song of the back garden across the river. The night view of Confucius Temple is very beautiful. I went there during the summer vacation, so there were a lot of people.

By China-TravelNote users |

I don't recommend it to everyone. It has too much commercial atmosphere. There are even magic shows to attract tourists. What kind of operation is this? There are charges for ringing bells and drums, burning incense, and buying that brand. It has deteriorated.

Confucius Temple is located in the central urban area of Nanjing, with a strong commercial atmosphere. The temple is located in the center of several streets, surrounded by very popular snacks and small commercial streets, which are good for shopping and eating. There are also Shuiping Square and Shuiyou City not far away. But as for this attraction, different people have different opinions. Some people don't like such a rural commercial atmosphere and think that this place is a scam. I don't think it affects you. You can visit and take pictures as usual.

The archway of Confucius Temple is very interesting, elegant and simple, forming a sharp contrast with the endless stream of pedestrians and vehicles under the archway, but it is not out of place. Standing at the intersection, there is a feeling of time travel, as if standing at the intersection of history and modernity. It is an indescribable emotion, very subtle.

Now that I'm here, I have to go in and take a look. It's like that anyway. I don't want to come in, but I want to come in. It's good to come in, but I still don't want to come in, haha

This is the worst attraction I've visited in Nanjing. It's small and there's nothing much there. It's a bit like a temple where you burn incense and worship Buddha. The waiters are all girls in uniform. You can beat drums and bells, hang amulets, and burn incense. I saw the bronze statues and colored stone paintings, but I don't remember the screen wall. Being in the same industry as Confucius may be the only reason to come here.

The tickets for Confucius Temple and the night tour of Qinhuai River are purchased online, a total of 88, which is quite suitable. Confucius Temple is still very good, and of course there are many people. I took the verification code to exchange for the ticket to enter the park, strolled around, and there was a tour guide, so I just listened to it.
