Tiger Hill Scenic Area is located in the northwest corner of the ancient city of Suzhou. It has a long history of more than 2,500 years and is known as "the first scenic spot in Wuzhong" and "the first mountain in Wuzhong".

Taking Tiger Hill as the finale of my trip to Suzhou and even my tour of the three places in the south of the Yangtze River was an excellent choice that exceeded my expectations.

Su Dongpo, a great poet of the Song Dynasty, wrote down the famous saying, "I once said that if you pass by Gusu and don't visit Tiger Hill or Luqiu, you will be lacking in two things."

Now that I have actually seen Tiger Hill, I know that what Su Dongpo said is true and its reputation as a famous scenic spot is well-deserved.

Tiger Hill is a place of endless beauty.

There are mountains, the sea surges up the mountains, there are springs, the third spring,

There is a stone, the sword-testing stone, and there is a pond, the sword pond.

There is a tower, Tiger Hill Tower, and there is a garden, Yixie Garden.

Just by going to Tiger Hill, you can see many scenic spots. Although we can't say that it is a culmination of all the scenery, it is still enough to make people praise it.

Over the past ten days, I have enjoyed the elegance and beauty of beautiful scenery in various places. Tiger Hill, the last stop, is no less impressive and has its own unique features.

The scenery of Tiger Hill is as its name suggests, resolute and hardcore, with the domineering and hidden power of a tiger.

Along the way, the artistic conception is clear, the crouching tiger is ready to draw its sword, and it is a good place to gain enlightenment through the scenery.

Tiger Hill is not high, with an altitude of 34.3 meters. It is a 5A scenic spot suitable for all ages. We chose to visit from the South Gate to the North Gate.

Get off at the Huqiu bus station and walk north along Huqiu Road. Although you haven’t reached the Huqiu Scenic Area yet, the scenic spot has actually been opened.

Don’t miss the Wuzhong No. 1 Mountain Archway and Prince Zhou Wu Ding.

It is said that Suzhou is most famous for its gardens. You will miss something if you don’t visit the gardens. However, my favorite is Tiger Hill. There is no reason for this liking. The best time to appreciate the beauty of Tiger Hill is probably the end of November or the beginning of December. The leaves in the south turn red later, which is a typical late autumn. Visiting the first scenic spot in Wudong at this time will give you a different feeling.

Tiger Hill is really a place of scenery at every step, and every step has its own mystery and unique stories: like the Sword Testing Stone, Hanhan Spring, Su Wu Training Ground, Erxian Pavilion, Xiao Wudang, etc. Here are some of my favorite ones.

【Tiger Hill Pagoda】: The one thing you must not miss when you go to Tiger Hill is the Tiger Hill Pagoda. It has the same sense of age as the city of Suzhou. This distant history created this masterpiece that attracts people's attention. You cannot go up to the top of the tower when you go there, you can only watch it from afar. In fact, what makes you fall in love with it is nothing more than the vicissitudes of life and antiquity. It is a historical song, erected in the land of China, witnessing all the legends of the city of Suzhou.

[Jianchi]: There are countless mysteries and legends about it. If Suzhou is a mystery city, Jianchi is the mystery pool. But it is indeed the infinite scenery that attracts me. This mysterious pool is like a veil slowly unveiled by tourists. I think it is the most attractive scenery of Tiger Hill. If you have not been there in person, you cannot tell how it feels to you. It is definitely a place worth visiting. It is a different mystery pool in terms of both style and history. [Shijingquan]: For some reason, I have a different degree of love for springs. I have been to the three famous springs in the world. Tiger Hill has Shijingquan, which is known as the "third spring in the world". If Huiquan has a similar appearance to most springs in the Spring City of Jinan, then Shijingquan is different. From the appearance, it looks more like a mountain stream, which makes you want to explore its true appearance.

【Lengxiang Pavilion】: The best place to enjoy tea and view the scenery. It is famous in Tiger Hill for its "sparse shadows and subtle fragrance".

[Yongcui Villa]: A small garden built on the hillside, occupying a large area of Tiger Hill

Su Dongpo didn't lie to us, "It would be a pity if you don't visit Tiger Hill when you come to Suzhou."

With its lush greenery and 2,000 years of history, Tiger Hill is worth a visit. The two most famous attractions in Tiger Hill are the "Sword Pond" and the "Tiger Hill Pagoda". In April, when the flowers are blooming, a visit to Tiger Hill is refreshing and refreshing, as if you have received a baptism of nature.

It is not worthwhile to go to Tiger Hill without listening to the explanation, as there are too many allusions. There are free explanations on time, and you can call the front desk in advance to ask. I was lucky. When I arrived, I happened to meet the 1:30 wave of explanations. The whole thing took about an hour. Please note that you can enter from the South Gate or the North Gate, there are explanations, and you don't have to go back. I personally think it is better to enter from the South Gate

Tiger Hill itself is not very large, and the hill is not very high, but it has many historical allusions. There is a crack in the middle of the Sword Testing Stone, which is said to be the place where Helu tested his sword during the Spring and Autumn Period. The Yunyan Temple Pagoda is on the top of the mountain, and its top is tilted, known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa in China. It is best to follow the guide when visiting Tiger Hill, so that you can understand the allusions more fully.

Tiger Hill is located in the northwest suburbs of Suzhou, five kilometers from the city center. It is a branch of Suzhou's West Hill. Due to the surrounding terrain, it has separated from the main body of West Hill and became an independent hill. According to legend, King Fuchai of Wu buried his father Helu here in the Spring and Autumn Period. Three days after the burial, a white tiger sat on it, so it was named Tiger Hill. One theory is that "the hill is like a crouching tiger, so it is named after its shape." The hill is 34.3 meters high, with towering ancient trees, small hills and many scenic spots. The thousand-year-old Tiger Hill Pagoda stands on the top of the hill. It has long been known as "the first scenic spot in Wuzhong."

Tiger Hill is a scenic spot with a long history, so in order to avoid any regrets, we went straight to Tiger Hill after breakfast the next day.

Tiger Hill has a south gate and a north gate. We entered from the north gate Zhonghe Bridge. It feels like going from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the mountain. However, it is better to take the bus from the north gate than from the south gate. We walked from the north gate to the south gate and then exited from the north gate. If there are more historical stories in the south gate, then there are more natural scenery in the north gate. However, people are relatively scattered. Compared with the garden, people come and go. Tiger Hill is a good place for a walk. There are some water lilies in the garden, which are very beautiful. There is a lotus pond in the garden, and a winding stone road, just right for you to appreciate the blooming flowers in the garden. When you arrive at Tiger Hill, you feel like you have returned to the Spring and Autumn Period. There is a mountain river around Tiger Hill. Interested friends can go around the mountain river and appreciate Tiger Hill from different angles.

There is a bamboo forest in Tiger Hill, which is really pleasant. My friend and I played there for a long time.

Tiger Hill Scenic Area is located in the northwest corner of Suzhou Ancient City. The great poet Su Dongpo of the Song Dynasty wrote the famous saying "If you have visited Gusu and don't visit Tiger Hill or Luqiu, you are two things you have failed to do". It has been successively rated as one of the first ten civilized scenic tourist areas in China, a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction, and a national civilized unit.

By Dreaming of entering the Imperial Academy |

Su Dongpo, a great poet of the Song Dynasty, had a rough life, was extremely talented, and loved to travel, but he didn't join a tour group. One day, he visited Tiger Hill and found something different:

Tiger Hill is very large. Other places have ancient temples hidden in the mountains, but Tiger Hill has a temple hidden in the mountains. So, I wrote on the travel website at that time: "It is a pity if you don't visit Tiger Hill when you come to Suzhou!"

Huqiu thus became famous.

There are many legends about Tiger Hill, but here are two true ones:

The first is the Tiger Hill Pagoda, which is second to none in the field of leaning towers, except for the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Second, the plaque hanging above the mountain gate, "The First Mountain in Wuzhong", was not written by Kangxi, Qianlong, and Yongzheng, nor by Su Dongpo, Ouyang Xiu, or Li Shimin, but by the architectural master I.M. Pei.

Tiger Hill is a compact place with an allusion every three steps and a legend every five steps. It takes one or two hours to tour the entire park.

At first, I didn't know much about it and thought there was only Yunyan Temple Pagoda. But when I got here, I found that this is a very large scenic area. In addition to Yunyan Temple Pagoda, there are other attractions such as Jianchi Qianren Rock, which is unexpected. The colors here in autumn are very beautiful. The golden ginkgo leaves are everywhere, which is very beautiful against the yellow walls of the scenic area.

The most famous are the Yunyan Temple Pagoda and the Sword Pond. The towering Yunyan Temple Pagoda has a history of more than 1,000 years. It is the second leaning tower in the world. It is simple and majestic and has long become a symbol of ancient Suzhou. The Sword Pond is mysterious and secluded. It contains the eternal mystery of the tomb of King Helu of Wu and the beautiful legend of the divine goose changing characters. The wind, ravines, clouds and springs are fascinating.

Tiger Hill is located in the northwest suburbs of Suzhou City. It is the remnant of Suzhou's West Hill. Due to the surrounding terrain, it has separated from the main body of West Hill and become an independent hill. Tiger Hill has steep rocks and ravines, lush forests and deep bamboos. It is the representative of the hills and ravines on the left side of the Yangtze River. It has always been known as the "first scenic spot in Wuzhong". In August 2017, I went on a nine-day tour of five cities in East China with my gay friends. The fourth stop arrived in Suzhou. The first attraction in Suzhou City was Tiger Hill. The ticket price was 60 yuan and the tour lasted 3-5 hours.

This place has a thousand-year history and culture. Although the mountains are not high, the hills and valleys are magnificent; although the scenery is not complicated, it is full of hidden secrets. Stepping into it, it feels like traveling through time and space, and you can feel the heaviness and poetry accumulated over the years, which is fascinating.

Tiger Hill Scenic Area is located in Tiger Hill, Gusu District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. Tiger Hill has a history of thousands of years. It was once the location of the imperial palace of the Wu Kingdom, and later became an important strategic location between Wu and Yue. According to legend, King Helu of Wu died here after being wounded in the battle between Wu and Yue. His descendants buried him on Tiger Hill, and the golden essence turned into a white tiger squatting on it, so it was named "Tiger Hill".

Yunyan Temple Pagoda (Huqiu Pagoda) is a world-famous ancient pagoda from the Song Dynasty and China's "Leaning Tower of Pisa".

Tiger Hill, also known as Tiger Hill, Haiyong Hill, or Tiger Mound, is a historical record that King Fuchai of Wu buried his father Helu here. After three days, a "white tiger crouched on it", hence the name Tiger Hill. It is also named because "the hill looks like a crouching tiger".

The scenic area contains more than 2,500 years of profound culture. The thousand-year-old tower, towering into the clouds, is the symbol of Suzhou, a historical and cultural city. Tiger Hill has the fun of a temple hidden in a mountain, three unique features, nine advantages and eighteen scenic spots, and is known as "the table of hills and valleys on the left side of the Yangtze River", "a magnificent and famous mountain", and "the land of the great Wu". It is famous at home and abroad for its rich cultural landscape and secluded natural scenery. Su Dongpo of the Northern Song Dynasty praised it and said, "It is a pity not to visit Tiger Hill when you come to Suzhou."

The location of Tiger Hill was originally a temple built by the brothers Situ Wang Xun and Sikong Wang Min in the second year of Xianhe period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (327 AD). It was named "Huqiu Temple" and the temple was built on the east and west sides of Jianchi Mountain at that time. In the Tang Dynasty, in order to avoid the taboo of Li Hu (grandfather of Emperor Gaozu of Tang, Li Yuan), it was renamed "Wuqiu Baoen Temple". During the Huichang period (841-847 AD), the Buddhist temple was destroyed and the two temples were merged into one when it was rebuilt. At the end of the Five Dynasties, Tiger Hill Pagoda was added. During the Zhidao period of the Northern Song Dynasty (995-997 AD), the temple was rebuilt and renamed "Yunyan Zen Temple", and the name of the pagoda was also changed to "Yunyan Temple Pagoda". During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed "Hufu Zen Temple", but people still call it "Huqiu Temple".

Tiger Hill, also located in Gusu District, Suzhou, is also famous, with the reputation of "the first scenic spot in Wuzhong", and is a must-see place for tourists in Suzhou. Su Dongpo of the Northern Song Dynasty once wrote, "I once said that if you come to Gusu but don't visit Tiger Hill and Luqiu, you are two things you have failed to do." Translated into vernacular, it means that if you come to Suzhou but don't go to Tiger Hill, you will regret it. This post by Su Dongpo on WeChat Moments a thousand years ago has now become the best slogan for Tiger Hill.

When you first hear the name Tiger Hill, you might think it is a towering mountain, but in fact its altitude is only 34.3 meters. It is not famous for its majestic mountain scenery, but a garden-style scenic spot that combines mountains, water, towers, temples, gardens and forests.

The entire Tiger Hill is quite large, and there are many scenic spots of all sizes. Almost every few steps you take, you will find a landscape with a history and allusions. Regardless of whether the so-called allusions are true or fabricated by later generations, there are many historical sites along the way, which at least will not make you feel bored. We entered from the south gate of Tiger Hill, so we can walk north along the central axis and follow the most iconic Yunyan Temple Pagoda of Tiger Hill and climb the stairs.

Yunyan Temple Pagoda, also known as Tiger Hill Pagoda, is 47.7 meters high, with seven floors and eight sides. It is a pavilion-style brick pagoda with a history of more than a thousand years. It is an undisputed landmark of Tiger Hill and even Suzhou. The most amazing thing about Yunyan Temple Pagoda is that it is a leaning tower like the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, so it is known as "China's No. 1 Leaning Tower" and is a must-see wonder when visiting Suzhou.

By Metasequoia |

Tiger Hill was originally named Haiyong Mountain. The four characters "Haiyong Liuhui" on the wall of the first mountain gate indicate that Tiger Hill was originally an island in the sea. It was formed by volcanic eruptions and geological changes. According to legend, during the Spring and Autumn Period, after the death of King Helu of Wu, his son Fuchai buried him on this mountain. Three days after the burial, a white tiger crouched on the mountain, so it was renamed Tiger Hill.

Tiger Hill is only 34.3 meters above sea level, but it is known as the "No. 1 Mountain in Wuzhong", which is in line with the opening line of Liu Yuxi's "Humble House Inscription": "Mountains are not high, but they are magical if there are immortals." What immortals are there? Let me take a look.

As soon as you enter the mountain gate, you will see dazzling golden leaves all over the ground, not only above your head, but also under your feet. Two rows of ginkgo trees are showing their passion in their own season. Some of the later mature ones are still green, so they can be replaced in time when the older ones wither, allowing the scenery to continue.

Jiangnan is the hometown of ginkgo. In the Song Dynasty, a large number of ginkgo trees were transplanted to the north of the Yangtze River and named by the imperial court, which became the heyday of ginkgo development in history. Ouyang Xiu has a poem: "Duck feet grow in Jiangnan, and the name and reality are not the same. The red bag is used as a tribute, and ginkgo is precious in Zhongzhou." It is about the origin of ginkgo. Because he received the ginkgo from his friend Mei Yaochen thousands of miles away, he felt it was precious, so he wrote a poem to express the friendship between them. Mei Yaochen received Ouyang Xiu's poem and wrote "Repaying Yongshu for Thanking Me for Ginkgo" according to its rhyme: "What did I have last year? Duck feet were given to people from afar. People will be compared to goose feathers, which are more valuable in quantity than in preciousness." Plants and trees will always be the bond of friendship between literati.

Going forward is the second gate, the Broken Beam Hall. This building, built in the Yuan Dynasty, does not use any metal fasteners, but is made entirely of bamboo and wood nails and tenons, and has stood for a thousand years. The Yongcui Villa in the back is the only waterless garden in Suzhou gardens.

As you climb up the mountain road, scenic spots appear one by one on both sides, each with its own history and story.

Tiger Hill is the most famous scenic spot in Wuzhong. Su Shi of the Song Dynasty once wrote, "I once said that if you pass Suzhou and don't visit Tiger Hill or Luqiu, you will be missing two things."

Suzhou Tiger Hill Scenic Area includes Tiger Hill Sword Pond, Yunyan Temple Pagoda and other famous classics with beautiful scenery. The most fascinating historical site in Tiger Hill is the Sword Pond, which is said to be the tomb of King Helu of Wu. Looking north from the Thousand People Stone, there are four large characters "Tiger Hill Sword Pond" engraved beside the round hole door of "A Different World". They are vigorous and powerful, and were originally written by Yan Yu, the only son of Yan Zhenqing, a great calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty. There are also "Wind He Yunquan" engraved on the stone wall inside the round hole, with a freehand brushwork, which is said to be written by Mi Fu, one of the four great calligraphers in the Song Dynasty. There are two characters "Sword Pond" in seal script on the left wall of the cliff, which are said to be written by the great calligrapher Wang Xizhi.

In addition to the main attractions, don't miss the beautiful scenery surrounding Tiger Hill, one of Suzhou's representative classics and a must-see attraction.

Before I came to Suzhou, my friend highly recommended it to me and told me that Tiger Hill must not be missed.

At the last stop, we finally stepped into this garden which is known as "the first scenic spot in Wuzhong" and "the first mountain in Wuzhong". Tiger Hill has a long history of more than 2,500 years. The great poet Su Dongpo of the Song Dynasty wrote the famous saying "If you pass by Gusu and don't visit Tiger Hill or Luqiu, you are two things you have failed to do".

When I was exhausted, I sent a message to the friend who recommended me to Tiger Hill and asked her to describe Tiger Hill in her mind. Not long after, I received the following reply from her: "After seeing the winding and exquisitely designed Suzhou gardens, and imagining myself as a wealthy family, enjoying the scenery with a pond, I am glad that I chose Tiger Hill as my next stop. When the sky broke, Tiger Hill appeared in front of me in a majestic manner. The pavilions, towers, bridges, pagodas, and halls not only continue the beauty of Chinese gardens, but also have the magnificence of famous places and historical sites. If the Humble Administrator's Garden makes people want to settle down, then Tiger Hill can rekindle your passion and let you go out into the world again."

The place is big and nice. It is best to bring some food when you visit. It is very physically demanding, going up and down. The unique Suzhou garden landscape and tree-lined paths are very comfortable. Wanjing Villa on the east foot of Tiger Hill gathers the essence of Su style bonsai, with mountain light and tower shadows, and is as beautiful as a painting.

By Yang Le |

The worst thing about Suzhou is that the entrance to the scenic area is dirty and messy, and dump trucks are rampant. Friends with children must be careful. A small temple costs 80 yuan, and parking is 20 yuan, which adds up to 100 yuan. It's really not worth it. The Huaqing Pool, the royal bathhouse of Yang Guifei and Li Longji in Xi'an, and the Terracotta Warriors, one of the eight wonders of the world, only cost 120 yuan. This broken place costs 100 yuan just based on Lao Su's words. Its reputation is greater than its strength. The garden is not as exquisite as the Liuyuan Garden. The exquisite scenery is like Mudu and Zhouzhuang, but it is not as quiet as Taihu West Mountain. To be honest, if you don't have a lot of money, time, and physical strength, don't come here to join in the fun. Don't be fooled by Lao Su's words that it would be a pity if you come to Suzhou but don't come to Tiger Hill. He came here as a leader to inspect the work that year. The whole hospital was cleared and accompanied by professional tour guides. You can come as you feel comfortable. Of course, you can see one scene at a time and feel happy. If we go now, we won't see one scene at a time, but hundreds of people at a time, and we have to endure the dislike of the scenic area staff.

There are discounts for booking tickets online. It is actually a large park built on the mountain. It takes about 3-4 hours to visit the entire scenic area.

Tiger Hill, Sword Pond. Hiking in the mountains is quiet, and listening to the sound of the clear spring.

By Tang Shaolong |

It has a long history and the scenery is average, but it is a must-see if you are visiting Suzhou for the first time.

By Sunangel |

This is my favorite place in Suzhou. The scenery is so beautiful that it makes me feel relaxed and happy. Even though the temperature is very high and I cry in the sun, it still can't stop me from loving this place. I highly recommend it. Although I didn't catch up with the best season for flowers to bloom during the flower show, it is still beautiful flowers.

After seeing the leaning tower, I was still very excited. It is worth seeing.

Tiger Hill is a very old scenic spot with many stories. I visited it early in the morning before the tour groups arrived. I will come again next time.

Learn about the history of Tiger Hill Pagoda, the scenery is pretty good

Not far along Kwun Tong Street, you will see the Leaning Tower, which is quite distinctive.

I once said that if you don’t visit Tiger Hill or Luqiu when you visit Suzhou, you are missing two things. - Su Shi

You can still go and have a look. It's raining today, so it's a different kind of scenery.

Tiger Hill Scenic Area is located in the northwest corner of Suzhou Ancient City. It has a long history of more than 2,500 years and is known as "the first scenic spot in Wuzhong" and "the first mountain in Wuzhong".

The first leaning tower in China is worthy of its reputation. It is worth visiting Tiger Hill in Suzhou. You can visit the park from the north gate of Tiger Hill. There is a bus line 1 at the north gate for 3 yuan per person. There are still many people during the Spring Festival. There are lion dances and performances. Many people watch. You can spend an afternoon here.

By China-TravelNote users |

Tiger Hill is really the first choice when you come to Suzhou. There are a lot of people in Humble Administrator's Garden, Lingering Garden and Lion Grove. If you arrive here after 8 o'clock, don't go to the gardens on the first day. You have to queue for an hour! Tiger Hill is not crowded, recommended! I went there during the Spring Festival, and there were not many people.

By Blue blue blue road |

The wind was biting cold when I went to Tiger Hill that day, and there were not many tourists. I just walked around and tried to find some peace in my heart.

The most famous places in Huqiu are Huqiu Pagoda and Huqiu Sword Pond.

By Wild Vegetable Love |

I booked the ticket for Tiger Hill online. You can enter the park by swiping your ID card. I went there early, and there were many elderly people doing morning exercises. Tiger Hill has free scenic area maps, which can be obtained at the visitor center. Tiger Hill has a south line and a north line. Choose the route according to your location.

The ginkgo leaves are quite beautiful. The departure time is November 29th, when the ginkgo leaves in the garden are at their most beautiful.

By Wow 👣 |

The two most famous attractions in Tiger Hill are Tiger Hill Pagoda and Sword Pond. There are also some other attractions that you can savor carefully. When you first enter Tiger Hill, you will feel the broad vision and can't help but exclaim "a stream embraces the secluded mountain, and it is actually in the city". It is recommended to spend 3-4 hours there.

Scenic spots along the way: Toushan Gate > Duanliang Hall > Yongcui Villa > Sword Testing Stone > Pillow Stone > Zhenniang Tomb > Sun Wu Training Ground > Qianren Stone > Erxian Pavilion > Huqiu Sword Pond > Third Spring > Ancient Stone Guanyin Hall > Yunyan Temple Pagoda > Book Platform Pine Shadow > Xiao Wudang > North Gate

Tiger Hill is not a large scenic area. I walked up and down it three times and visited it inside and out in detail, and it only took me less than three hours.

Tiger Hill is located in the northwest suburbs of Suzhou, five kilometers from the city center. It is a branch of Suzhou's West Hill. Due to the surrounding terrain, it is separated from the main body of West Hill and becomes an independent hill. According to legend, King Fuchai of Wu buried his father Helu here during the Spring and Autumn Period. Three days after the burial, a white tiger sat on it, so it was named Tiger Hill. One theory is that "the hill looks like a crouching tiger, so it is named after its shape."

Tiger Hill is far from the city, so it is recommended that friends set out early. The recommended time for the tour is half a day. You must go early, one is to avoid the crowd, and the other is that the sun is not so strong in the morning. According to the most common visiting habits, you will visit from the South Gate. No matter where you enter the scenic area, each has its own advantages. There are more tour groups at the South Gate, and there are relatively fewer people at the North Gate, and it is very suitable for taking pictures. The ticket purchase at the North Gate is self-service, and there is a self-service ticket machine inside, which is also very convenient to operate. There will be maps at the ticket gate, which can be read for free.

To me, Tiger Hill does not feel like a 5A-level scenic spot. It feels like a 4A-level scenic spot. The maintenance and construction of the scenic spot are not very good, the ticket price is a bit high, and the overall tour feeling is still a bit disappointed with my expectations when I first set out. If friends go there, go with a normal mind. There are not many highlights here. This is my intuitive feeling, for your reference.

On November 4, I went to Suzhou for business. I couldn't buy a high-speed train ticket on the way back, so I had to buy a green train. I went to Tiger Hill to have fun while it was still early. The scenery is great! The ancient tower and the sword pond have experienced many vicissitudes!

China's Leaning Tower of Pisa is perfect for viewing maple leaves in mid-November.

A place where classic stories converge; a place full of works by famous artists; a place that incorporates Chinese architectural features; a place that all tourists must visit!

By LiZhi pear juice |

Afterwards, we took a bus to Tiger Hill, where the most distinctive features are the Sword Pond and the "Leaning Tower". The "Leaning Tower" was not originally tilted, but after a long period of history, it became what it is today. However, it is precisely because of this appearance that it is so famous.

The scenery is pleasant, beyond imagination, and it is worth seeing

The famous Tiger Hill, come and check in. Look at the Sword Pond and the Leaning Tower, and you will be satisfied. I met the school organizing students to go on an autumn outing in the scenic area. The crowds of naughty children were really scary. Fortunately, I missed the peak tourist season, otherwise it would be even more annoying. After leaving the crowd and walking into a bamboo forest, the world suddenly became quiet, and there was a feeling of resurrection!

By Haihe River |

The natural scenery is average, but there are many cultural and historical attractions, and it is a place visited by literati and poets of all dynasties.

By cindy |

In fact, you can go to Tiger Hill in the off-season and save half the ticket price. The tickets are so expensive during the peak season because there are temple fairs and flower fairs. The elderly may like to watch the temple fairs. There is a temple fair every hour, and reservations must be made in advance.

By Are you a juju fairy? |

Because I wanted to choose a niche attraction, I went to Tiger Hill. As expected, there were not so many people. Tiger Hill is very low in altitude, so it can't even be called a mountain, but a hill. The Tiger Hill Pagoda on the top of the hill has a history of thousands of years. It is the second leaning tower in the world and is known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa in China. It leans more than two meters, which is very magical and worth seeing.

Although it is September, when I first entered Tiger Hill, I felt the greenery everywhere, green mountains and green waters, and green vines around the walls. Compared with the beautiful pattern of Suzhou gardens with a different scene at every step, the stories behind Tiger Hill make this place more vivid and interesting! So follow the guide and listen while you travel to get a deeper understanding!

Tickets for Tiger Hill must be booked in advance. The ticket price is 80 in peak season and 60 in off-season. You can enter by swiping your ID card.

The stone steps and viewing platform, the green ivy and moss covering the cracks in the rocks, and the green tile eaves give people a sense of quaint solemnity.

There are many small scenic spots in Tiger Hill, with a total of 15 famous scenic spots. The stories of each scenic spot are very vivid. It is recommended to spend 5 yuan to buy an interpreter and follow the tour guide while listening. Or you can directly search Tiger Hill on China-TravelNote, find the internal route - Tiger Hill Scenic Spot Tour Route - enter, and you can also see the route and the introduction of each scenic spot. It is still worth a visit!

The scenery of Tiger Hill is nice. It is the temple fair now. After visiting Tiger Hill, I had a bowl of Suzhou specialty snack Du Du Du brand sugar porridge in the Tiger Hill Food Street. It tasted good.

It's a pity not to go to Tiger Hill when you go to Suzhou. There were so many people when I went to Tiger Hill during the Spring Festival. I have to complain about the parking chaos. Anyway, it's hard to get in and out. You need to have the right hardware. Tiger Hill is not big, but there are many cultural attractions. I bought an online guide for five yuan, and the signal in the park is very good. It's very different from the Humble Administrator's Garden and the Lion Grove. I like it. I only took a brief tour due to limited time. I will come back next time when the spring comes.

Tiger Hill is located in the northwest suburbs of Suzhou. It is not far from the city center, only five kilometers away. It is known as the "No. 1 Mountain in Wuzhong". Although Tiger Hill is only more than 30 meters high, it has the style of "the top of the hills and valleys in Jiangzuo", with steep cliffs and valleys, magnificent scenery, and three unique places, nine advantages and eighteen scenic spots. Su Dongpo once said: "It is a pity to come to Suzhou and not visit Tiger Hill". The most famous places in Tiger Hill are Yunyan Temple Pagoda and Jianchi. Tea Saint Lu Yu found that the spring of Tiger Hill was sweet and delicious, and rated it as "the third best spring in the world". (The second spring is in Huishan, Wuxi)

In addition to the ingenuity of the Suzhou garden masters, there are many eye-catching attractions in the entire scenic area. My Chinese level is not very good, and I can't describe the various attractions in words. I can only let my friends experience the beauty of this place in person. Overall, I think this scenic area is one of the most worthwhile attractions in Suzhou.

I arrived at the scenic spot as soon as it opened at 7:30 in the morning. There were not many people at the beginning. I bought a ticket on the spot and went in. Tiger Hill is not big. The main attractions are all on the central axis. It takes 1 hour to go around, so I can have enough time to rest. I entered from the north gate. The first is the Yunyan Temple Pagoda, also known as the Tiger Hill Pagoda. Then there is the Sword Pond in the core scenic area. Next to it is the Thousand People Seat where King Fuchai of Wu killed a thousand tomb builders in the legend. In the White Lotus Pond, there is a nodding stone where Sheng Gong preached, a stubborn stone nodded, and a white lotus blossomed.

Other places such as Sun Wuzi Pavilion, Hanhan Spring, Zhenniang Tomb, Sword Testing Stone, etc. are not far away. I was so thirsty telling my children all kinds of allusions that I hope to instill some traditional cultural knowledge. I walked to the south gate and rested for a while. It was only 9 o'clock, and the core area was full of people. One tour group after another was talking about allusions loudly. I wanted to leave but felt sorry for the 80 yuan ticket. So I turned back and changed the road, from Xixi Huancui to Yunzai Chaxiang. There are few people on this road. The koi in the pond are big and fat. Thousands of green bamboos make the summer heat disappear. A rockery and flowing spring make the children linger. We played in the water here until 10:30 and left reluctantly. If you have free time, it would be nice to play more in Tiger Hill.

Personally, I feel it’s just average. If you’re short on time, you can ignore it. If you have time, you can go and take a look!

The tickets are a bit expensive, but when I saw Tiger Hill Pagoda, the "Leaning Tower of Pisa in the East", I felt that the tickets were worth it.

Tiger Hill is worthy of being the number one scenic spot in Wuzhong. Whether it is the dry garden or the Tiger Hill Pagoda, they all reflect the impression of Suzhou.

After visiting several garden buildings, I felt that Suzhou relied more on mountains and rivers to create artificial landscapes. Unexpectedly, Tiger Hill completely broke this view. It was built on the mountain, majestic and natural, and it is indeed a place worth visiting.

Don't worry about the 100 yuan per person tour guides out there. The regular ones cost 200 yuan. We finally chose the Yiwu tour guide, who toured every half an hour and it was also very pleasant to listen to.

I went to Suzhou with my bestie at the end of July last year. I remember that after visiting the Humble Administrator's Garden, we went to Tiger Hill in the afternoon. I can only say that Tiger Hill gave me a deep shock. Su Shi's words: It is a pity not to visit Tiger Hill when you go to Suzhou, are definitely not unfounded. Not to mention the quiet and pleasant environment, the cliff carvings of the Three Thousand Swords Pond, the History of the King of Wu, and the ancient tower of Yunyan Temple are enough to make me intoxicated. Standing on the stone wall, it feels like being in hundreds of years ago. It rained that day, and Tiger Hill in the rain is even more special. In short, you must go to Tiger Hill when you go to Suzhou. I think it is better than the Humble Administrator's Garden.
