Shengjin Pagoda

The Shengjin Pagoda is an ancient pagoda, a relic from the Qing Dynasty, but it has not been listed as a national protected site. It looks like a newly painted new pagoda. In addition, a Confucian temple has been rigidly planned for the scenic area, which is a bit out of place. The original Nanchang Confucian Temple has completely disappeared in the urban planning and no longer exists, which is a pity.

Shengjin Pagoda is a typical brick-and-wood structure pavilion-style tower in the south of the Yangtze River. The tower is 50.86 meters high and has seven floors and eight sides. It is in the shape of an octagon inside and outside. It has red railings and green tiles, black-cornered walls and a gold-mirrored gourd-shaped roof. It has a strong religious flavor, flowing eaves, and hanging copper bells.

When passing by some scenic spots, the sound of wind chimes tinkling is very pleasant to hear.

But the food street in Shengjin Pagoda is a bit disappointing. It was almost 5pm in the afternoon, and there were still no shops open in the food street. Maybe it was because I went there at the wrong time. But if I find another time to go to the food street, it probably won't happen.

It is recommended to eat at a local restaurant there, then wander over to digest the food, and by the way, be in a daze there for a while. It is very comfortable. It is a tourist attraction that does not require tickets, and you cannot even go up a tower.

The second attraction on the first day in Nanchang. You can't go up to the building, so you can only walk around it. There are bells hanging on the eaves. When the wind blows, they make a dinging sound, which is very pleasant.

An ordinary snack street can be found in many places, but the Rope Gold Pagoda is the only check-in point, but it is not necessary as the lighting effect is not good.

After reading the reviews, I didn't want to go there at first, but later I passed by and thought I should go. After all, it's a landmark building. It's okay. There is a Rope Gold Pagoda inside, but you can't go up. Behind the pagoda is the Confucian Temple, which is dedicated to Confucius. You can still go and see it.

It is a place for Nanchang citizens to relax and have fun. There is no entrance fee, and the garden landscape is worth a visit. It is worth mentioning that as a free park, the sanitary facilities are particularly good. Not only do they meet the cleanliness standards, but the equipment is also complete. Compared with the dirty toilets in those city parks in Dalian, it is much better.

The scenery is pretty good! There is a food street next to it. Although most of the shops are closed during the day, the environment is still very quiet!

It was super hot, and there weren't many people there, so it was easy to find. Not many shops were open that afternoon, and because it was the Dragon Boat Festival, I bought a little bit of local specialties for my lovely friends, and that was all. I also had Nanchang mixed noodles, which I thought were just so-so. The building near the train station was under construction, and many old shops were closed, as was the whole street near Bayi Square. It took me a long time to find the authentic mixed noodles, and the taste was just so-so.

Shengjin Pagoda combines scenery and delicious food. It happened to be the 17th "Shengjin Pagoda Temple Fair" and it was a pleasant surprise. However, seeing the surging crowds, I immediately gave up the desire to find out. Influenced by the temple, the surrounding shops have become more prosperous, but it has also caused a lot of congestion to Shengjin Pagoda. I can only visit it from the side door, and I can see the main hall directly upon entering.

I wanted to see the Shengjin Pagoda because I read the sentence "Water and fire are in harmony, sitting in the city of Jiang". I wanted to see the elegance of the ancient building, but when I got to the bottom of the pagoda, I found out that it had been damaged several times and was a modern new building. The story of "an iron box and four turns of gold rope" can be seen everywhere in the temple, which is like Xianglin Sao, but you can't see the iron box, the sword and the relics, and this story really makes me not think of the two words "shengjin". . . . However, it is said that the copper bells on each floor of the pagoda could produce different scales, seven floors and seven tones, but due to the noisy voices, they were definitely not heard.

Shengjin Pagoda is a sacred guardian tower for Nanchang City. There was a legend that "when the vines are broken and the gourds are cut, the pagoda will collapse and Yuzhang will be ruined". If both Tengwang Pavilion and Shengjin Pagoda collapsed, Yuzhang would no longer be glorious. This shows the status of this pagoda in Nanchang, and it is also named "Yongzhen Jiangcheng" on the plaque.

After a long detour, I found the entrance and entered the park. The first thing I saw was the main hall. Unlike ordinary temples, the "sage" Confucius is enshrined here. Maybe it's because the ancient tower was built outside the former Jinxian Gate, or it's to bless Yuzhang to always have outstanding people and beautiful scenery.

Shengjin Pagoda was first built during the Tianyou period of the Tang Dynasty. When I first heard the name, it sounded very much like "Shenjing Pagoda"... What kind of childish place name is this... Later I learned that the name "Shengjin" was not randomly derived.

Shengjin Pagoda is quite simple and beautiful, and is a typical brick-and-wood structure pagoda in the south of the Yangtze River. When the breeze blows, the clear sound of the copper bell spreads from the air. Although the seven tones cannot be heard, the ancient charm is still long.

I came to Shengjin Pagoda to take a photo and felt much more energetic.

It's quiet, good for a walk, but forget it if you want to see it as a tourist attraction

Shengjin Pagoda is located in a small park in the downtown area. It is quiet in the midst of the hustle and bustle, suitable for daydreaming. The scenery is average, but the pagoda is very beautiful. Unfortunately, the door is locked and you can't go up. There are food streets around it where you can also go shopping.

There is a food street near Shengjin Pagoda. You can go there to eat lunch and visit Shengjin Pagoda. You can also take a good rest and watch others feed goldfish. No tickets are required. There is a Confucian Temple "Dacheng Hall" inside, which is dedicated to Confucius and his two students. Students can go there to worship!

The sky was very blue when we went there. The blue sky and white clouds echoed with the dark-colored tile edges, further reflecting its historical solemnity.

There are beautiful views on every floor of the tower. When the breeze blows, the tinkling of bells makes the hot weather less hot.

Mainly considering the food street, I came here to have a look because I wanted to eat something. The tower of Nanchang's town town is not good in weather, otherwise it would be very interesting to listen to the wind chimes and read a book under the tower.

It's a very small attraction, basically just a check-in spot.

You can't go up the tower, it's a place to burn incense. Nothing to see, lots of goldfish.

Every time I go out to gain experience, I see a pious piety when I pay my respects to the pagoda.

Another landmark building in Nanchang, not big, but with a story.

There are not many tourists in Shengjin Pagoda, mostly local elderly people and children, it is almost an activity park for the elderly.

The environment is clean and tidy. I've never been here before, but it's a good place to go.

The advantage of the Feng Shui Tower in Nanchang is that it is free to visit.

I have lived near Shengjin Pagoda for a while and would stroll around the food street when I had nothing to do. I have become quite familiar with the place.

First of all, let’s talk about the tower: it’s free to enter, the view is average during the day, but it’s very beautiful at night with neon lights everywhere.

The park is not very big. When you enter, you will see the Rope Gold Pagoda first. The neon lights keep changing colors, and the breeze blows, with the sound of wind chimes clear and pleasant.

Going east is the Dacheng Hall, where Confucius and his disciples Yan Hui and Ziyu are enshrined. It is quite grand. The lights outside the hall are very sacred, and even the steps are carved with dragons.

Going further east, there are corridors with curtains and lanterns hanging inside. It is particularly poetic to go there at night, quiet and ambiguous.

There is a stage on the south side, and on New Year’s Eve, many aunts were seen rehearsing programs.

Walking to another exit is the Thousand Buddha Temple. There are two rows of Eighteen Arhats on the left and right of the temple entrance. There is a big Buddha in the middle of the temple, and behind it are small golden Buddhas, about a thousand in number. The Buddha paintings on the wall are also very detailed.

Even if you have finished touring the entire park, you will find it is not big but very exquisite. I like it very much.

After leaving the park, there is the food street: to be honest, the food street is just so-so. However, there is an ordinary street next door with small restaurants serving Gan cuisine and barbecue. I especially recommend Guo's Lamb Rib. I have been there several times and always had to wait for a seat. Many people go there for their spicy crab.

There are many stone tablets with various figures on them standing in the half-person-high pool at the entrance of the food street. There is a three-dimensional barber shop on the north wall, where you can pose for photos.

Next to it is Lvzi Cuisine, which sells local specialties. Walking in, you can see the fake scenery at the entrance of the "Kitchen God" restaurant, which is very interesting. There are not many snacks on the whole street, and the business is quiet. There are a few restaurants that are quite stylish and worth trying, but the prices are relatively high.

The very popular "Ji Ji Hong Hotpot" is everywhere in Nanchang. This one in the food street is also doing good business. I went in and ate there once. It was a shuangyang hotpot and the taste was really great!

Letu Youth Hostel is located in the food court. There is a music bar on the first floor, and there are singers performing at night. The price is 100 yuan+, which is a bit expensive for long-term stay.

The famous Long Laowu Soup Restaurant is at the corner of the intersection. It does good business, but I personally think the taste is average.

The transportation near Shengjin Pagoda is very convenient. The bus goes almost everywhere. I can take the bus to Bayi Square or Nanchang Star, but I have to drive in reverse. 🙃

It's definitely spicy, which is more in line with my taste, but it's still far from what I remember.

Three turns of golden ropes were dug out from under the tower, hence the name Rope Gold Tower. It has convenient transportation and is very close to Nanchang Old Railway Station. There is a food street nearby.

Next to it is the Shengjin Pagoda Food Street. There are very few people on the street because it is in the old city, where there are more local residents. You can only see the Shengjin Pagoda from the outside. The Shengjin Pagoda is closed and you can't go up. At night, the lights have several colors.

It was around 5pm when we went there, and the light was poor. The building was in the shape of a regular octagon, with a brick-and-wood structure, and wind chimes were hung under the eaves of each floor.

The food street next to Shengjin Pagoda is not recommended, as it has no special features like food streets all over the country. However, you can visit Shengjin Pagoda at night.

The scenery is beautiful. After all, the Feng Shui pagoda has a thousand-year history. It is good that no tickets are required. However, the scenic spot is relatively small. If you live next door like us or the itinerary is suitable, you can visit it. It is estimated that the visiting time is about 30 minutes. If it is not on the way, it is not recommended to take a detour.

I was originally going to the food street, but after I got there I found out that there was a 3D movie at 8pm in Shengjinda, explaining the history. It was absolutely shocking and must be watched. Shengjinda in Yongzhenjiangcheng is a must-see place.

I went to Shengjin Pagoda with a tour group on the first day of my trip to Nanchang. The view was nice. You can't go up the tower, you can only watch from a distance. I think it's worth a visit.

The last stop of this trip to Nanchang was Shengjin Pagoda. When we arrived at noon, there happened to be a food pedestrian street next to the pagoda. Just like Jinli next to Wuhou Temple, there were all kinds of small shops.

Compared with other densely populated scenic spots, Shengjin Pagoda is relatively independent in its geographical location and close to accommodation.

The name sounds strange, but the origin of Shengjin Pagoda is still very interesting if you search Baidu. But you can't go up to the inside of the tower, which greatly reduces the viewing experience. There are almost no tourists, and they still charge admission, which is a bit ridiculous.

Not worth going.

The wind was very strong at that time, and the wind chimes on the corners of the tower played music that was very pleasant to the ears! When we came out of the Shengjin Pagoda, there was an ancient theater next to it, which was empty. There was a couple playing badminton below, O(∩_∩)O~ After walking around the Shengjin Pagoda, we could see the only monk who was practicing here. His index finger had been rubbed shiny by tourists.

Shengjin Pagoda is now a park, a great place for leisure and entertainment, where you can stroll around.

Shengjin Pagoda was a must-visit place in our plan, but due to time constraints, we could only visit it on the last day. When we arrived at the pagoda, we were amazed at how new it was. It didn't feel as retro as the ones we had seen before. But it didn't affect my passion for pagoda art at all. I wanted to learn about and take pictures of all the pagodas I saw. I really like pagoda art.

The Shengjin Pagoda Scenic Area is not just about this pagoda. Most people who have been there know that there are usually temples where there are pagodas. We did see the temple when we went around. I must give a good review for this place. People who worship Buddha here can do it by themselves, and even if there are people, they are not forced to put money, so I have a very good impression of the Shengjin Pagoda. In addition, this is equivalent to a park, and there are introductions to pagodas all over the country. It is free, and the food street outside is suitable for taking pictures and strolling. I had a lot of fun.

Nanchang's old town is bustling and prosperous. It is one of the must-see attractions in Nanchang. There are many delicious foods around it. If I go to Nanchang again, I will come here again.

Shengjin Pagoda is a place I want to mention in particular. It shows naked eye 3D light show every night, which is a must-see and free. After eating delicious food in the food street, it should be a very good arrangement to see the night view of Shengjin Pagoda.

You don't have to go to Shengjin Pagoda when traveling in Nanchang, because it will be gone in less than half an hour. Why spend the ticket money to come in just to see a tower, visit the garden, and sneak to the back door to eat delicious food? If you are on a tight schedule in Nanchang, you can go to the food street to have a nice meal, look at the Shengjin Pagoda from a distance, and then go to the next attraction.
