Located opposite the Dalian Municipal Government, with the Public Security Bureau, the Court, and the Procuratorate to the east and west respectively, it is the political center of Dalian and one of its landmarks.
You can watch the flag raising and lowering in the morning and evening, and there is a beautiful musical fountain for you to enjoy
Usually this is a place for citizens to relax, take a walk, fly kites, and feed pigeons in the square.
The large musical fountain in the square will be accompanied by the music of the square. The 6-meter-high water curtain of the musical fountain will cascade down, which is very beautiful.

When we got to People's Square, the musical fountain was playing and there were lots of square dancing going on. I wanted to take the bus back, the fare was one yuan, but I had more than ten yuan in my pocket, which was really embarrassing.
The plaza is huge, and there's no food stall in the middle. I asked a guy inside the plaza for some change via WeChat, but before he could even say anything, he just waved me off, saying, "Do I look like a bad guy or a scammer?" Never mind, I'll figure it out on the bus. Once on the bus, I asked two other passengers, but they both said they didn't have any change. So, I figured, 10 yuan is 10 yuan. It's not like I can't afford it, but the 10 to 1 ratio is too high. Then, a woman saw me and quickly handed me a dollar. I was so grateful and so kind! It's easy to change now, and I can just scan the QR code to get on the bus.
Recommendation: Five-star. Transportation: Metro Line 2. Suggested Travel Time: 1 hour. The square, home to Dalian Municipal Government, is vast, with expansive green lawns and surrounded by municipal buildings, creating a majestic and impressive atmosphere. What excites us animal lovers most is the daily patrols of the square by mounted police officers on handsome horses. While they're called patrols, they're actually very tourist-friendly, allowing visitors to take photos, even pet them. The horses are incredibly well-behaved, and the mounted police are incredibly gentle, even stopping to allow visitors to take photos during the patrols. The two mounted police officers will ride their horses around the square multiple times, stopping for photos in between. This is undoubtedly one of Dalian's most unique features.
You can feed the pigeons, the wind is a little strong. It is a very pleasant place where you can be in a daze and think about life.
It's really worth going. Maybe it was because the weather was very good on the day I arrived, the view was very wide, and the scenery in the square was absolutely amazing. There were also mounted police from 9:30 to 10:30 in the morning.
The seat of Dalian Municipal Government, it is recommended to just enjoy the scenery along the way from the car.
The square is very grand, but there is nothing to see, just walk by
We took the subway and changed trains to get there. It was nothing special except that we could feed the pigeons, which my mother thought was fun.
Dalian People's Square, located across from the Dalian Municipal Government, is flanked by the Public Security Bureau, the Court, and the Procuratorate to the east and west. It is Dalian's political center and a landmark. Morning and evening flag-raising and lowering ceremonies are available, along with a beautiful musical fountain. If you're lucky, you might even spot a dashing female mounted police officer. On weekdays, it's a popular spot for residents to relax, stroll, fly kites, and feed the pigeons. The large musical fountain cascades down to the rhythm of the music, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
The cleanliness and grandeur are self-evident. The female mounted police officers alone are a sight to behold. A Ferghana horse is priceless, and the female mounted police officers are even more heroic.
See Dalian female police officers, the scenery is great and the transportation is convenient
The family walked to People's Square and waited until 9:30 when the female mounted police finally showed up. PS: The female mounted police are three women and one man, and they only show up between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. They don't come every day.
I walked under the scorching sun and took a photo. I felt that there were so many squares in Dalian.
Seeing People's Square struck me as overly grand and structured, not quite my style (I'm a traditional Chinese painter, haha). The square is bisected by the city's main thoroughfare and surrounded by city roads. It's mostly paved and lawned, with few trees. Plus, it's so empty, the chill wind whipped us in. We ran across the vast square to the curb on the opposite side. The female mounted police officers were already strolling on horseback, so we could only trot after them. I realized there were only two of them (out of four total). After circling one quarter of the square, they took a fixed spot in the center of the square to take photos of tourists.
I walked around the area and took some photos of some charming old European-style buildings.
People's Square is very close to Dalian Jiefang Square, and the starting price for a taxi is just one.
The People's Square is indeed very large, with large lawns on both sides of the square in front of the city government.
I arrived at the square at 8:30 in the morning. It was completely deserted, save for a couple of dozen elderly people doing morning exercises. But that was exactly what I wanted.
To be honest, the musical fountain in People's Square is not spectacular at all. However, the five-star red flag fluttering in the square looks even more vivid and eye-catching under the reflection of the water column.
After the fountain ended, it was already past nine o'clock. The square was still empty, with no sign of a patrol. From the musical fountain in People's Square, you could also see a panoramic view of the Dalian Municipal Government.
A dashing female mounted police officer, a stately administrative center, verdant lawns, clean and comfortable!
People's Square is very large, opposite the city hall, and behind it you can see the TV tower. People say that to see the Dalian female police officers, you have to go to People's Square, but just like the intersection of the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, it depends on fate, because they won't come out if the weather is bad.
Dalian female mounted police are a beautiful sight in Dalian, but why are there four of them, only one is female and the rest are all male? ! ! ! Well, at least there are female police officers
Reference time: 9:00 to 10:30 every morning if the weather is good
I didn't see any female police officers when I went there, but the landscaping was very good and I didn't see any musical fountains.
After all, it is near the government, the environment is good, and there are many shopping malls nearby.
This should be the center of Dalian. There are landscape decorations during the National Day holiday and there are a lot of people.
A large and elegant square, just opposite the city hall
It is the city center square where the municipal administrative agencies are concentrated. The administrative and judicial agencies are concentrated. The square has a symmetrical layout, green grass, a long corridor, and fountains dancing with the music. The whole square is solemn and beautiful.
The musical fountain was just okay, as they all seem to be. The highlight of People's Square is the female mounted police and the peace doves. There are daily performances of female mounted police around 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
It is the political center of Dalian. I heard that the party and government agencies of Dalian are all located in the building opposite the square. The tour guide usually does not recommend getting off the bus to visit this stop, so it is also a good idea to pick up your phone and take some photos on the bus.
People's Square is the administrative center of Dalian. To the north stands the Municipal Government, and to the east and west stand the Public Security Bureau, the Court, and the Procuratorate. The south courtyard houses a flag-raising platform and a large musical fountain. The flag-raising platform measures 9.9 x 9.9 meters, symbolizing the centennial of Dalian's founding in 1999. Every Monday morning at 6:00 AM, a spectacular flag-raising ceremony takes place. The musical fountain, cascading down in response to the square's music, creates a stunning display of water, a curtain of water as high as six meters high, beautifully illuminated by the dazzling square lights.
There are squares everywhere in Dalian. You can find one every few steps.
Dalian People's Square is the city center square where the municipal administrative organs are concentrated. The administrative and judicial organs are concentrated. The square has a symmetrical layout, green grass, a long corridor, and fountains dancing with music. The whole square is solemn and beautiful.
The promised female mounted police officers turned out to be men! People's Square is just a little bigger, and if you've been there and there aren't any female mounted police officers, you wouldn't take the time to specifically look at them. After all, all squares are pretty much the same. If you have plenty of time in Dalian, you can definitely come and see them.
The aerial footage from the TV series was truly beautiful. So after spending the entire afternoon wandering around, I decided to go over and lay down on the lawn to snap a few photos. If you're a photo lover, you can definitely go over there!
The green grass is beautiful for taking photos. Children have simple happiness and are very happy to feed the pigeons!
One of Dalian's iconic landmarks, the fountain is open from April 15th to October 15th each year, with seven performances daily: 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM, 12:20 PM, 2 PM and 4 PM, and 6 PM and 8 PM. The fountain features one main pool and seven secondary pools, covering nearly 2,000 square meters. When operational, it holds over 4,000 tons of water, and over 2,000 underwater lights flash and animate to the music.
There are many squares in Dalian, and they feel pretty good!
I came here hoping to see a female mounted police officer, but I waited for an hour and still didn't see one. It was probably a matter of luck. The People's Square is very neatly laid out and should be considered the political center. The government, the Education Bureau, and the Public Security Bureau are all here.
In front of the city hall, the face of Dalian, there are female police officers patrolling regularly.
The square is large and majestic, and its design is rich in cultural heritage.
There are many squares in Dalian. Every intersection is called a square. I was stunned. People's Square is located in the city government. It is open and has a large lawn.
My original intention of going to People's Square was to see the female police officers. It is said that there will be performances by female police officers on the morning of holidays, but some people say that this is a waste of money and time and it has basically been cancelled. How lucky we are to be able to see it.
The current People's Square is the seat of the municipal government. It is very open, with Russian-style buildings on both sides, but there is no other landscape except the lawn.
It is said that there are female police officers on Monday morning, you can go and have a look. Anyway, I have been there so many times, but not once on Monday.
I went there during summer vacation. The scenery was beautiful. There's a bus stop next to People's Square called "Little Meatballs." The food was absolutely delicious! I give it a thumbs up! They have several locations, but since my hotel was right near People's Square, I found it using the navigation and it was just over a 10-minute walk. So, I went right after it opened. I ordered a box of six meatballs for 12 yuan each. They were so good, I bought three more. Very good, very good, very good. I can't stress this enough. You'll never want to eat anywhere else again after trying their little meatballs. Highly recommended! The only downside is that there's no fried chicken in People's Square.
Clean and tidy, good greening, complete infrastructure
Eating fried chicken in People's Square. Haha. When the weather is good, you can sit on the grass and feel comfortable.
Clean, spacious, exposed to the sun, and the most direct feeling, there is nothing special about it.
A very large green square...
Dalian's People's Square isn't as famous as Shanghai's, but its atmosphere is definitely special. No other city has such a large green space in its urban area, so the shock you experience when you see it is beyond your imagination. Dalian's cleanliness is unparalleled.
Surrounded by Dalian People's Government, Police Station and Procuratorate on three sides, with green space in the middle, the environment is naturally good.
Every April there are kite flying people in People's Square, and there are also handsome female police officers on horseback. The sky is blue, the grass is green, and there is a breeze. It is perfect for taking photos!!!
It starts at 7 o'clock and lasts for about half an hour. The lights and sounds are very beautiful with the fountain. Sometimes it is graceful and sometimes it is spectacular... It is very beautiful... You have to go early to get a seat. My friend and I arrived at about 6:30 and we could only squeeze into the second circle to watch...
There was no fountain when I went there, but it was a good place for a leisurely walk.
It's very impressive. If you have time, you should go there.
The square is divided into two halves by the road: one half houses the government building, with a large lawn in front; the other half is home to a musical fountain. In the evening, residents perform square dancing, and the fountain show is spectacular at night, lasting over half an hour. Please refer to local news for specific show times.
On the second night of my trip to Dalian, I strolled to People's Square after dinner. Dalian is known for its square culture, being one of the cities with the most squares in Asia. Sure enough, the vast green lawns, the beautiful European-style buildings, and the dazzling lights along the way were truly refreshing!
People's Square seems to be surrounded by Dalian's administrative offices, including the Municipal People's Government, the Court, the Procuratorate, and the Public Security Bureau. I heard there's a beautiful musical fountain, but it has a set schedule: 12:00 PM, 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, and 9:00 PM. It's a shame we didn't catch it, or the kids would have loved it! Because it was evening, we didn't get to see the female mounted police officer.
, what a pity... I'll go again when I have a chance!
The large square across the street was even more spectacular. A large group of square-dance women were moving to the music, occasionally joined by older men. It seems that in Northeast China, square dancing isn't just for women! The children were delighted, following the music and, after a few strokes, they were actually dancing quite well! The older men were laughing as they watched...
In addition, there are bus stops and subways not far away on both sides, so transportation is also very convenient!
Dalian People's Square is located in the heart of Dalian, home to the city's administrative offices. Across from the square is the Dalian Municipal Government, the former seat of government throughout Dalian's history. The vast lawn in front lends the square a solemn air. Behind it, a musical fountain and relief sculptures add to the central square's character. The square's most distinctive feature is the Dalian female mounted police officers, who appear only around 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Due to the incongruity of my time, I was unable to see them.
It is probably the largest square in Dalian after Xinghai Square. It is located in front of Dalian Municipal Government, not far from the railway station, and can be reached by multiple buses and subways.
The surrounding facilities are complete, including hospitals, shopping malls and public toilets.
On certain days, the famous female police officers also patrol here.
People's Square is famous for its female mounted police officers, but their patrol schedule is irregular, so I didn't see any. As for the fountain, I think it's just okay. I think children would have fun playing in the water.
I like living in People's Square, where I can see the fountain and take a walk.
I've been passing People's Square in Dalian almost every day these days, and today I finally stopped to take a walk. Lush green lawns, a grand square with a flag-raising platform, a musical fountain, and white pigeons. This is Dalian's political center, home to the People's Government and the Intermediate People's Court. It's easily accessible by public transportation.
The squares in Dalian are very grand. Unlike the squares in the south, which are always planted with many tall trees, the squares in Dalian are just lawns and flowers, and appear particularly large, just like the generous and open character of northerners!
There are a lot of tourists. The scenery of the fountain is just so-so. If you want to see it, you can come here at night.
Dalian is a very livable city, and you can feel that from the large and small squares. Next to the city government is the People's Square, which has beautiful scenery. I happened to live next to it two days ago, and I would stroll here with my boyfriend in the evening. The pace of life in Dalian is very slow. After 6 o'clock, the square is already crowded with people relaxing after dinner. There is a half-hour musical fountain here from 8 o'clock to 8:30, which is definitely worth a visit.
The most charming thing is the green grass, very beautiful~
Dalian has many squares, and People's Square is the city's heart, housing the city's administrative and judicial branches. When we passed it on the sightseeing bus, the tour guide coined a catchy saying: "Catch on the left, judge on the right, and finally, listen to the middle." It's quite descriptive! The square is large, boasting a musical fountain. On weekends and holidays, you might even encounter Dalian's unique female mounted police officers.
This is Dalian's most iconic square. During the day, you can enjoy the green grass and the female mounted police officers, while at night, you can enjoy the musical fountain. Of course, the female mounted police officers' schedules vary, so seeing them is a matter of luck. The musical fountain performs at set times throughout the day, but the most spectacular show is at 8:30 p.m. The colorful lights are particularly beautiful against the night sky, and the accompaniment of Beijing light music makes it a truly enjoyable experience. However, the music from the nearby group of square dancers is a bit too loud.
Although the fountain is not as large as the musical fountain at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi'an, the tall water column can still create a hazy mist. The most excited people are the children. Some of them hold umbrellas, and some wear raincoats. They shuttle through the mist and have great fun.
I didn't see the female police standing guard, but it was great and the environment was great.
People's Square, consisting of a main square and two smaller side squares, is spacious and tidy. National Day is approaching, and the flowers in the square look freshly restored and beautiful. I arrived early, before the tourists arrived. The only people in the square were a few elderly people doing morning exercises, circling the square. Their circles are small, just the size of the small square. Across from the square is the Municipal Government Building. My taxi driver explained that these buildings, all built before the Liberation Army, are of excellent quality, and their exteriors are both spectacular and somewhat exotic.
The lawn of Dalian People's Square is very large, and the government building in the middle is very grand. Standing here, looking around, taking pictures, the view is very open.
This place is the political center of Dalian! It's incredibly beautiful. I wanted to get there before 10 a.m. to see the female mounted police officer, but I was too late. At noon, the fountain in the square erupted, and we were just in time. A group of children flying kites mingled with the spray, creating a beautiful scene.
People's Square is a good place to fly kites. It is quite open and there are Dalian Municipal Government and other buildings nearby.
There is nothing but emptiness here. There are no people in the People's Square.
When the weather is clear, the view is very broad. From Monday to Friday, if you are lucky, you can even meet a female police officer, who looks so heroic!
People's Square is famous for its musical fountain, but we arrived early and didn't have the patience to wait until dark, so we left after watching the fountain once.
When I arrived at Dalian People's Square, I found that greening is very common in Dalian. The green space in any square is very large. There are many cars on the road, but the road is wide, so it doesn't feel too crowded. Foshan can't compare with these.
People's Square is the square in front of the municipal government. It's not very large, so you can stop by if you're passing by. Now that the Donggang Fountain is there, the smaller fountain in People's Square has become much less prominent. The following photos were taken with my phone during a visit to People's Square in the summer of 2013. Picture 1 is the municipal government building, picture 2 is the fountain, and pictures 3 and 4 are of the square.
I went for a stroll in People's Square. It was very cool and humid in Dalian that night. The air must have been very good, and it felt very moist when I breathed it.
When I arrived, I noticed a lot of locals walking and exercising. There was even a female student singing in a corner of the square, which was quite touching. Many children were waiting in front of the fountain for the water to splash on them—it was pure, simple joy. But I think the music could be a little louder; it was almost inaudible.
Originally known as "Elderly Square" during the Japanese occupation, it was renamed "Government Square" in 1945, "Stalin Square" in 1949, and officially "People's Square" in 1994. In 1999, the former Soviet Red Army Martyrs Memorial Tower was demolished (and relocated to Lushun), and a new flag-raising platform and large musical fountain were built, giving it its current appearance. The Dalian Municipal People's Government Building (formerly the site of the Kwantung Prefecture Government) stands to the north of the square, while the Public Security Bureau, the Court, the Procuratorate, and other agencies are located to the east and west. Mounted police patrols operate at designated times daily (except Fridays). The Dalian Women's Mounted Police Brigade, the world's first fully-fledged all-female mounted police unit, utilizes British-bred racehorses donated by Hong Kong, creating a unique and scenic spot.
