Gangshika Snow Peak, also known as the "main peak of Lenglongling", is 5,254.5 meters above sea level. It is the highest peak in the eastern section of the Qilian Mountains and the leader of the mountains in Menyuan.
Xuefeng combines the magnificence of modern glaciers and a complete vegetation belt. There is a million-year-old glacier on the top of the peak, and the snow never melts all year round. Whenever the sun sets, the sunset glows lightly, and the snow on the top of the mountain is glittering and shining, sometimes in deep red and light purple, light blue and dark blue, like a jade dragon flying in the flowers, and the evening mist rises. It is called "Longling Sunset" and is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Menyuan. Due to its low altitude, this is an ideal place for tourist enthusiasts to climb and explore, and can also be used as a training base for climbing and mountain walking.

Gangshika Snow Peak is 5254.5 meters above sea level, with snow line height of 4200 meters on the north slope and 4400 meters on the south slope. The mountain is mainly composed of acidic quartz amphibolite, gneiss, plagioclase, basic volcanic rock, etc., and belongs to the Caledonian fold belt of the northern Qilian Mountains in structure. It combines the spectacular modern glaciers with complete vegetation belts, and is an ideal place for scientific investigation, mountaineering and tourism. There are million-year-old glaciers on the top of the peak, and the snow does not melt all year round. The climate changes rapidly and is mysterious. Sometimes the sky is blue and white, and the silver light is shining, and sometimes it is violent, the sky is dark and the earth is silent, and sometimes avalanches break out, dragons roar and tigers roar, and snow rolls, which is chilling and frightening. Whenever the sun sets, the sunset glows lightly, the snow on the top of the mountain is sparkling, sometimes appearing deep red, light purple, light dark blue, just like a jade dragon flying among the flowers, with the evening mist rising. It is called "Dragon Ridge Sunset" and is one of the eight ancient scenic spots in Menyuan.
When I passed by, I saw that I had plenty of time. It took about 30 minutes to drive from the main road to the scenic spot. Because it was off-season, no one was managing it. Of course, the weather was also very bad. It was sunny below, but it was snowing (ice particles) when I went up. The weather was bad, so I didn't see its true appearance. If the weather is good, you can walk in. On the way, I met many people digging Cordyceps sinensis. After chatting for a while, they said that the harvest was not good and so many people only dug 3...
The mountain will be closed in winter. You can drive to the location of the Seven-Colored Waterfall to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains. Recommended~
The sacred mountain is so poetic and picturesque that it is hard to look at it directly.
Gangshika Snow Peak is located in Menyuan Hui Autonomous County, Qinghai Province, with an altitude of 5,254.5 meters. It is the highest peak in the eastern section of the Qilian Mountains. The top of the peak is covered with snow all year round, shining silver like a jade dragon. It is also the highest mountain in Menyuan.
Normally, it looks pure white from a distance. When the sun sets, the mountain top becomes colorful with the evening glow and the evening mist rises. It is called "Dragon Peak Sunset" and is one of the eight major scenic spots in Menyuan.
Tickets: Free: Suggested tour time: 1 hour (we only went a little bit inside the entrance of the scenic spot and did not climb up)

Continue along the Qilian Grassland and you will pass by the Gangshika Snow Peak. From afar you can see the snow-capped peaks shrouded in mist, looming in the clouds.
The Gangshika Snow Peak is a mythical mountain. It is the place where Li Shangyin's famous line "There are not many roads to Pengshan, and the blue bird is eager to visit" comes from. It is more than 5,000 meters above sea level and is the highest peak in the eastern section of the Qilian Mountains.
But 4. Due to the tight schedule, we did not climb the mountain, but just visited and took photos at the foot of the mountain (PS: Babies with plenty of time deserve to have a good and slow tour~)
Although I was just passing by, the mystery of Gangshika Snow Peak made me yearn for it.
Beautiful, but can't do strenuous exercise, prone to hypoxia
Gangshika Snow Peak is usually viewed from a distance. We arrived just in time for the horse race, and many local people came to participate. Traffic was congested, so we parked the car in a temporary parking lot. The green grass and wild flowers were everywhere, which was very delicate. Looking into the distance, the snow-capped mountains were looming under the white clouds, and the photos we took were also very good.
In order to see the Gangshika Snow Peak, we drove to the parking lot, paid 100 yuan to take a Tibetan motorcycle off-road to an altitude of 4020 meters, and waited for more than 20 minutes... The smoke and fog dissipated, as if it was the heavenly palace.
It is said that after climbing up, you can see green on one side of the mountain and white snow on the other side. However, the driver said that it is not the right time yet and you can only see it after October. We could only regretfully check in at the foot of the mountain.
Crossing the Daban Mountain without Dabancheng, the sun rises in the east and the rain falls in the west. It turns out that it is not just the gentle breeze and drizzle by the West Lake, but also the overlapping peaks at the foot of the Qilian Mountains.
The Gangshika Snow Peak is 5254.5 meters above sea level. It took 4 hours of hiking to reach the place closest to the snow peak. The climate on the top of the mountain is really unpredictable, with wind and rain. For safety reasons, we did not continue to move forward and turned back. However, in this midsummer season, we are satisfied to see the snow.
I've been there once before, it was nice. But I couldn't climb it. Haha I want to climb it if I have the chance
We were lucky enough to reach the snowy peaks and see bits of snow between the peaks. They were soon covered by clouds, so the view wasn’t spectacular, but it was worth a look.
On the way back to Xining, the weather changed when we passed the Qilian Grassland. The Menyuan rapeseed flower sea and Gangshika Snow Peak that we had planned were covered by rain and clouds. We thought we had missed them. But when we drove to the top of Daban Mountain, the sun came out! We saw the most manifique scenery of this trip to Qinghai. The sun shone on the crystal clear snow peaks. It was so beautiful that it was indescribable. My companions exclaimed that this was a beautiful scenery that would be imprinted in their minds for a lifetime! I was really at a loss for words. The beauty of Qinghai is indescribable. No word can accurately express it. Only when you see it with your own eyes can you know the purity of that beauty...
It was raining heavily. People coming down from the mountain said it was too dangerous so we didn't go up. We couldn't see much when we drove over. One reason was that visibility was poor and the other was that the angle was too narrow to see clearly. But it was really cold when it rained. There was not much parking space on the mountain. There were skewers and corn for sale. The corn was very fresh. The skewers included yak skewers and mutton skewers. The meat was good and cheap. A skewer cost only three yuan! Because it was too cold, I bought 20 skewers of yak and mutton skewers, as well as hot corn. It was a timely and warm gift!
We passed by the gate of the famous Gangshika Snow Mountain. The snow-capped mountain on the top was obscured by thick fog, giving this sacred mountain a sense of mystery.
There is only Gobi Desert and grassland now. Spring has not come here yet. You can imagine the scene of green everywhere, but this kind of desolation is also very pleasant.
The clouds were too thick, and the snow-capped mountains could be seen but could not be photographed.
One of the eight major scenic spots in Menyuan. The peak is covered with snow all year round, and below the snow-capped mountain is a grassland farm where cattle and sheep are leisurely eating grass.
[Tips] There are two places to see it, one is on the road from Menyuan to Banshan, and the other is at the Dabanshan Observation Deck. Personally, I think you should go wherever you can see it, because the snow peak is 5254.5 meters above sea level and the probability of being covered by clouds is too high.
I took a few random photos. I didn’t know it was a tourist attraction at the time. After I came back, I found out that it was the famous Gangshika Snow Peak.
The perfect combination of grassland and snow-capped mountains, perfect!!
Several tourists released their drones, then laughed excitedly and took photos, and I happened to freeze them in my picture at this moment.

There are fewer people in the off-season at the niche scenic spot. The snow peak is not high and the difficulty is not high. If conditions permit, it is no problem to climb to the top. The scenery is beautiful.
I didn't have a headache, my chest wasn't stuffy, and I didn't have difficulty breathing. I just felt top-heavy and light-footed, like I was floating. I had to keep warm. The sun was very warm, but the temperature on the snowy mountain was below zero, and it was still a bit cold even with a down jacket under my denim jacket.
The scenic area does not charge admission and there are no buses, so you must charter a car to get there. The Gangshika Snow Peak is located halfway up the mountain, at an altitude of about 3,900 meters. There will be ice waterfalls when the weather is cold.
Actually, I didn't go here, but I saw it all the time on the way back to Xining from Qilian. It would occasionally show its head along the undulating mountains. The hillsides on both sides of this road are very beautiful, just like the classic Windows desktop, with herds of cattle and sheep, and the floating clouds in the sky, there is an illusion that the clouds drift behind the distant mountains and then turn into cattle and sheep and then go over the hills to graze on the grass. It is said that there is a group of sheep in this area that were painted blue by the owner, but unfortunately I didn't see it. Can friends who have seen it take a photo so that I can also enjoy the feast?
Majestic, like a man's embrace, a mysterious feeling

It is recommended to go, and if you have enough time, it is recommended to go inside and take a look
The Gangshika Snow Peak is seen from afar on a sunny day, and the visual experience is great. The Tianlujia Snow Mountain is the most suitable place for those who like to take photos of the road.
When we got there, it was foggy and we couldn't see the snow-capped mountains clearly.
There was a place we drove past and there was already a lot of snow in October.
The Gangshika Snow Mountain, also known as Lenglongling, covers an area of about 450 square kilometers. It is one of the main peaks of the Qilian Mountains, with an altitude of 4,000 to 5,000 meters. The mountain runs from northwest to southeast, extending more than 280 kilometers in Qinghai and 30 to 50 kilometers wide. It is not open to foreign countries yet. The Gangshika Snow Mountain is extremely cold in midsummer. There are many modern glaciers above 4,500 meters above sea level, with a total area of 81 square kilometers.
Menyuan Hui Autonomous County has a snow-capped mountain that fully displays the scenery of the northern country - Gangshika Snow Peak. It is the highest peak closest to the Xining tourism circle and one of the three mountaineering snow peaks identified by the Qinghai Mountaineering Sports Management Center for key development. Gangshika Snow Peak is not high in altitude and is an ideal place for tourist enthusiasts to explore mountains and can also be used as a training base for mountaineering and mountain hiking.

This place is not an open scenic spot yet, so not many people go in. We walked to the place closest to the snow-capped mountains. Unfortunately, the small bridge was washed away by water, so we couldn’t take close-up photos. However, it was beautiful to stand on the mountain and look down at the grassland. There were also herds of cattle and sheep. There were not many cars, so we could take pictures freely on the road. At the end was the snow-capped mountains. It felt great!
After crossing the Daban Mountain, you can see the Gangshika Snow Peak (Lengyunling). White clouds, snow-capped mountains and blue sky surround the open world of Menyuan full of rapeseed flowers. Five words float in the sky: "Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful". There are viewing platforms on the winding mountain road, and of course they are crowded. Friends who drive by themselves must park their cars in appropriate places so as not to affect passing vehicles.
When the weather is good, you can see the Gangshika Snow Peak from a distance.
If you don't have the ability to climb, just watching from a distance in the car is already very pleasing to the eye.
I just arrived at Gangshika Base Camp yesterday, and I brought half a bottle of water and a jacket. Luckily, the weather was good. But you must adapt to the plateau in advance and keep an eye on the weather. The dirt road down the mountain is a bit slippery, so be careful. It takes about 3 hours to walk from the end of the mountain road to the base camp. The scenery is beautiful!
It is indeed beautiful to look at the snow-capped peaks from a distance, but it seems that most people can only look from a distance.
It feels more tiring than climbing a desert. I start panting after walking a few steps. It doesn't feel like climbing a snowy mountain, but a rocky mountain.
The snow peak is so beautiful, so close yet so far away. It takes most of the day to reach the top of the peak, which is more than 6,000 meters above sea level. We don’t have professional equipment and time, so we can only check in at the platform.
On the way, we met some hikers coming down from the top of the mountain. The photos they took on the top of the mountain were so beautiful. There was also a young couple taking wedding photos on the top of the snowy peak. It was no exaggeration to describe it as stunning. I really admire their courage. It was very memorable.

I thought we could only see it from a distance, but the driver took us up the mountain. We couldn't see the top of the mountain when we looked up, but there were colorful waterfalls down there.
The white snow-capped peaks stand out against the blue sky, flowers grow among the rocks, and sheep scramble to graze.
Very beautiful and shocking, the endless snow-capped mountains.

Of course, friends who like to see snow-capped mountains should not miss it.
It's quite spectacular from a distance, it's worth a look.
One of the main peaks of Qilian Mountain, the snow-capped peaks of Qilian Mountain are rare in summer and will become less and less in the future, and the transportation is relatively convenient. . .
The Gangshika Snow Peak was viewed from a distance from the viewing platform opposite it. The silver mountain in the sun was still very spectacular, but because the distance was too far, taking photos could not always capture its essence.
This is the first time I have seen snow-capped mountains. It is very shocking. No wonder many people go there to see them.
Many beautiful scenery can only be viewed from a distance, not up close, and the snow-capped peaks are one of them.
The Gangshika Snow Peak was just covered by layers of clouds, making it difficult for us to see clearly. We passed by it on the way back and it was not well-known until we checked the itinerary.
The Gangshika Snow Peak is very spectacular from a distance. It would be great if I could climb it next time.

It’s cold up there, with wind, sand and snow. If you are on the top of the mountain, you’ll feel at peace and warm.
Just looking at the snow-capped peaks from afar, they are quite majestic, but of course they cannot be compared with the Qilian Mountains.
The mountains are high and the roads are long, the scenery is beautiful, and the weather is changeable, so please be careful.
2016.8.6 My family traveled to Qilian County. On the way to Xining, we passed by the Gangshika Snow Peak Observation Deck. The snow-capped peaks over 5,000 meters high were indeed magnificent, attracting the attention of many tourists.
The altitude is not low and there are not many people, so you can take pictures of the beautiful scenery
However, many people may not be able to adapt to the sudden rise from an altitude of more than 2,000 meters to 4,000 meters above sea level.
Gangshika Snow Peak, we drove in along the road, but turned back halfway. This was not our destination. But the endless sea of flowers inside was very beautiful.
Now the road to Gangshika has been repaired, so it is very convenient to get there. The scenery is great, and there is no entrance fee. However, the snow line has moved up, so it will be too late if you don’t go there. Going there in winter is also unique, with icicles hanging down.
"What is life? Life is not knowing what to do all the time."
I feel this way every time I see Gangshika, and it's the same every time.
Great snow! The snow mountain is very beautiful and there are relatively few people, but it is quite steep and you need to be careful when climbing.
We saw from the car that the snow on Gangshika Snow Peak had melted, so we didn't make a special trip to drive there. Instead, we found a viewing platform on the way back to Xining, where we could see Gangshika Snow Peak from afar.
I hadn't planned to go here originally, but when I was staying at a hotel run by the Hui people in Menyuan, the owner strongly recommended that I come here to have a look. The weather was not very good when I went there the next morning. It was raining. On the way back, the clouds cleared and the sun rose. I saw the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains, which was quite a surprise.

We just watched from a distance.
I didn't drive in, but I could still see the beautiful snow-capped peaks, which were very beautiful.
I took a photo when I passed by, but I didn't go in. It felt too cold and consumed too much energy.
