Kembula National Forest Park

The Kabula Scenic Area is a natural scenic area with Lijiaxia Hydropower Station and Danxia landform as its main body. The mountains are steep and upright, with strange shapes and amazing works of nature. Danxia landform spreads among them, and the Lijiaxia water storage reservoir flows down along the section. The green water, green mountains and red Danxia complement each other and are beautiful. The mountain road to the Kabula Scenic Area is winding and ups and downs, and small-displacement cars are tortured. Unlike other Danxia landform scenic spots, the vegetation on Kabula Mountain is very good. Although it is a bit hot in August, it feels good to walk in the lush mountains.

Kamba means the home of Khampa in Tibetan and the paradise of Tibetans. So far, it has not been overdeveloped. The area inside the scenic area is very large and only scenic sightseeing vehicles and local vehicles are allowed to enter.

There are few tourists in the off-season, and you feel happy no matter how you see the scenery. The weather is also great. It was snowing the day before, and it was sunny the next day.

Kanbula Forest Park was acquired by the state two years ago and became a 4A-level scenic spot, but the local investment is not strong, many infrastructures are not yet complete, accommodation may not be convenient, and the latest bus from the town to Xining is 5:30 (maybe no bus in the off-season)

Kanbula National Forest Park is actually a closed section of the S310 National Highway from Jianzha County to Guide County to form a scenic area. There are two entrances to the scenic area, the east gate is the main entrance of the entire scenic area, and it is located in Jianzha County. Public transportation is not very convenient, so it is recommended to drive there. The road conditions in the scenic area are very good and any car can pass through. There are many winding mountain roads. In winter, there is a small amount of snow in the shade of some sections of the road, so you still have to drive carefully. The scenic area is free to pass from November 1st to May 1st of the following year. During this short period of time, the visitor center and cruise ships are out of service, and the plank road will also be closed, but it is actually quite suitable for fun with few people, especially for "flying friends"

Located at the intersection of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau, it is located in Jianzha County, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and is a national 4A-level scenic spot. The scenic spot is 131 kilometers east of Xining City, Qinghai Province, and 50 kilometers west of Jianzha County.

The entrance fee to the scenic spot is not expensive, 50/adult, but the transportation fee is very expensive. The total land and water transportation fee is 200/person (it seems to be 100 for land transportation and 100 for water transportation). Although everyone feels the pain, they still have to visit since they are here. Although they are not very willing, they still buy tickets to enter the park with great interest. First take a car, then take a boat, to see this "homeland of the Kham people" ("Kambula" means Tibetan) as much as possible.

When you arrive at the scenic area's observation deck on the "top of the mountain", what impresses you most is the two dazzling colors: bright red and charming blue.

This is a typical Danxia landform. Dan means red. The Kanbula Danxia landform is composed of red sandstone and conglomerate. The surface of the rock is as red as clouds. When tourists go deep into it, it seems like they are in a red forest, with a sea of bright red.

There are also some Tibetan villages in the park (very few of them were seen), which is the origin of the place name "Kambula" - "the home of Khampa, the paradise of Tibetans". We took a tour bus and got off the bus to visit the viewing platforms and small attractions along the way. We can see some Tibetan-style village houses and small vendors selling convenient food at the viewing points, most of whom are Han Chinese. There are also children playing, and it is hard to tell whether they are Tibetan or Han. Obviously, Tibetans and Han live together here.

After the land tour, we took a boat tour to see the "mountain and water connection" of the Danxia landform and the reservoir up close. At the dock where we boarded the boat, the water was the same red and yellow as the mountain. However, as we continued to sail deeper into the reservoir, the yellow and red of the water became lighter and lighter. In the end, the muddy yellow lake water was completely replaced by a deep blue, and a pool of clear water gradually appeared, giving this majestic gully mountain a spirituality of waves and water shadows. …

There is no ticket sales in the off-season, but there is a problem that all toilets are closed... The roadside is bare and there is no shelter... The scenery is really refreshing.

Kambala is 131 kilometers away from Xining. Kambala is famous for its unique Danxia landforms, with tall and majestic peaks, full of masculinity and natural charm, which is the best in the country. I must admit that I was seduced by the beautiful scenery.

Blue sky, white clouds, clear water and red clouds, all in Kanbula. It snowed in Sanjiangyuan yesterday. I had always wanted the Yellow River to be clear in Guide, but it turned out to be muddy. There was no warning when entering the mountain. When you pass through dozens of miles of mountain roads, there is a checkpoint on the way to ask for money, which makes you in a dilemma. And the toll collector has a bad attitude. It seems that the people in Qinghai are crazy because of poverty!!! Don't go there. If you go there, you will regret it like me!

The scenery we saw while driving was so exciting and the scene was so grand! The blue water and Danxia were wandering in the big turns of the car one after another. It was a pity that there was no viewing platform at the most spectacular place, and it was also quite dangerous and we couldn't stop the car, but the extremely impactful scenery has been engraved in our hearts!

Today, I drove into the scenic area from the west entrance of Guide County. The service staff I met at the Xiaoyaochi scenic spot were very friendly. They patiently introduced the characteristics of each scenic spot in the scenic area and recommended a route suitable for self-driving tours that is under construction - to Aqiong Nanzong Temple and Nanzong Peak Observation Deck and Nanzong Nunnery, with beautiful scenery and few tourists. Each scenic spot in the scenic area is very distinctive, and it reminds me of Wang Zhihuan's poem from time to time - a lonely city and a mountain of ten thousand feet. It feels quite good to take a motorboat around the reservoir. The water in the center of the lake is no different from mineral water when it is directly drunk. The outlet of the generator set of the Lijiaxia Reservoir can see a colorful rainbow when there is sunshine, which is very distinctive. It is estimated that it will be upgraded to a 5A scenic spot after the supporting facilities are repaired.

Self-driving tourists need to be reminded that when buying tickets to enter the scenic area at the west entrance of the scenic area (west gate ticket office), the scenic area service staff is very insidious. After reading the information from China-TravelNote, I got that each car was charged a toll of 30 yuan, but she said it was 100 yuan per car plus 50 yuan per person, and that you can only enter the scenic area after 3:30, because there are many tourists and sightseeing buses in the scenic area before 3:30. We had no choice but to buy a 100 yuan + 100 yuan scenic area sightseeing bus plus a cruise ship large loop ticket, planning to park the car at the west entrance and take the sightseeing bus to enter the scenic area, and then take the cruise ship back to the west entrance. After we bought the tickets, she changed her mind and said (the cunning part) that you can drive 20 kilometers to Xiaoyao Chi and then take the scenic area's sightseeing bus, instead of having to park the car at the west entrance of the scenic area (reason: there are only two small minibuses at the west entrance, which are simply unable to take all the tourists into the scenic area. On the way to Xiaoyao Chi about 20 kilometers, we encountered two empty minibuses going to pick up tourists. She wished we would buy sightseeing bus tickets but drive into the scenic area ourselves to make up for the shortage of scenic area sightseeing buses).

After we drove to Xiaoyaochi Scenic Spot, we consulted the very friendly service staff, who said that we could drive in now, but we should be careful not to occupy the road to view the scenery, so as not to affect the traffic of the scenic spot. We could change the cruise ship to a circular tour of the lake, instead of starting with the sinister route she introduced, which was to take a sightseeing bus first, then a cruise ship, and then drive from the west entrance of the scenic spot to the east entrance to exit the scenic spot (see Figure 2 for details).

After the land tour, we arrived at the east entrance. We originally planned to take the scenic area's sightseeing bus to the cruise ship terminal to tour the lake. However, when the service staff saw that we were driving a car, they said that we could drive to the terminal by ourselves and did not need to take the sightseeing bus.

I don't know if you understand what I've said. The current situation of the scenic spot is: there are few sightseeing cars but many tourists. They want you to drive by yourself but they also want to cheat you out of money. The reason she used traffic congestion is not tenable at all. We entered from the west gate at 9 am and drove out from the east gate at 5 pm. There were no more than 30 sightseeing cars and more than 100 self-driving cars. These cars are just a drop in the ocean on the nearly 30-kilometer scenic road. If I take this route again, I will definitely ask her at the west entrance for the government approval document or relevant regulations of the transportation department that you can drive into the scenic spot after 3:30. If she can't produce it, what should I do? You know!

The scenery is great, there are very few people, the scenic area is large and there is a lot to see! If you are not particularly looking forward to other scenery and have enough time, please take a detour and come here.

I queued for more than an hour in the scorching sun to buy tickets. It was the first time I saw such a XX (use your imagination) ticket seller since I arrived in Qinghai. Since the ticket was expensive, 240 yuan per person, it was mandatory to buy sightseeing bus tickets and boat tickets. Finally, this painful trip was brightened up. What a beautiful pool of clear water, it looked so relaxing. Then the staff on the boat began to explain to us, "This is the upper source of the Yellow River..." I didn't hear and remember the rest clearly. I was only shocked by the two words "Yellow River". This is the Yellow River... How could this be the Yellow River. . . As a child whose hometown is in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, I have seen the Yellow River countless times since I was a child. This is the first time I know that the Yellow River is this color. It turns out that the Yellow River can really be this beautiful. It turns out that China's mother river is really worthy of everyone's praise with all kinds of gorgeous words! In short, the biggest gain of this trip to Kambala is that I saw another side of the Yellow River! Of course, the Danxia landform in the park is also amazing, which makes people sigh at the magic of the creator!

The scenery is beautiful and spectacular, and the service quality is acceptable. Visitors are only allowed to enter by the park's shuttle bus. The road is indeed difficult to travel on, so safety comes first.

There are not many scenic spots in China that combine Danxia and primitive forests. It is known as the Jiuzhaigou in Qinghai, and tourists who have visited it are full of praise.

Looking at other people's photos on the Internet, the scenery here should be very attractive, but at that time, the internal construction of the scenic area was caught up, which led to disappointment in the end. The Lijiaxia Reservoir, which attracted me the most, was not accessible. Of course, the staff inside the scenic area did not explain the ultimate reason for not being able to go. The internal transportation in the scenic area depends on internal vehicles. If people don't take you there, you can't do anything about it. When I took the boat, it was said to be the last boat at 2 pm. I also waited on the boat for nearly two hours to confirm that there were no tourists before the boat started. I can only say that I was unlucky. I hope that friends who go there will pay more attention to whether the internal construction of the scenic area has been completed. Speaking of the scenery I saw, the geological landforms are very strange, especially the section of the boat later, there are many changes, the water of the Yellow River is also very clear, and there are many water birds in the canyon.

There are not many people who go to the Kanbula National Geopark. The mountain road is just like a geological survey. The advantage is that you can take pictures wherever you want without anyone stealing your spotlight. I thought 240 was not cheap. The scenic area was not fully developed and the service was not very good. However, the speedboat was more than 10 kilometers back and forth. You don't have to walk a step in the scenic area. It's all buses. It's quite worth it. The scenery is really good, but the scenic area is dilapidated and it destroys the feeling of the original forest.

If you drive by yourself, you can park directly at the pier. It is recommended to buy a package ticket, the ticket is 50. The water and land are 200 in total, because it is too big! It is impossible to walk all the way. It took more than two hours to drive up and down the mountain (not counting the time to stop and take pictures). You must go on a sunny day. The scenery is really super beautiful! You can't extricate yourself from it. Because the scenic area is still open, there are fewer tourists. It is not as loud as Zhangjiajie, but it is not inferior to it! I personally feel that it is much more, maybe because there are fewer people. A must-go place for photography enthusiasts! Without skills, casually taking pictures may not fully show its beauty! You need to experience it yourself! Absolutely no regrets! It's so beautiful!

Because it is not very convenient to take a car, we chose a group tour (280RMB, including round-trip fare, tickets and lunch). After about 2 hours, we arrived at Kanbula. After getting ashore, we walked for a while and took a battery car to the depths of the forest park. We started climbing the mountain and took a glimpse of the magnificent Danxia landform. When we arrived at the top of the mountain, the golden temples, the red mountains, the blue sky and the white clouds suddenly opened our minds. All the waiting and efforts were fully rewarded at this moment. This is the fun of climbing mountains.

We went there during the National Day holiday in 2012. There were not many people there, so it was suitable for self-driving. I didn't go into the scenic area, but I could see the unique Yadan landform outside. There are also several along the way, which must be very beautiful. However, the tourism management is a bit chaotic, and Provincial Highway 203 has been included in the scenic area and is impassable.

There are two entrances to the Kanbula National Geopark. The one closer to Xining City is the Jianzha County entrance, and the other is in Guide. Since last year, the Kanbula Scenic Area has prohibited tourists from driving to the Jianzha County entrance. Tourists must buy tickets and take the shuttle bus arranged by the scenic area to go to various viewing platforms. It is said that you can still pay to drive into the mountain at the Guide entrance. Because the distance is too far, we gave up going to Guide. We did see a lot of self-driving vehicles in the park. Some friends also said that you can drive into the park after 4 o'clock, but I personally think it is too dangerous to go down the mountain at night and it is not recommended to enter the park after 4 o'clock.

Let me first talk about my feelings about the entire park. The Kanbula National Geopark covers a large area and can only be visited by car. The winding mountain road up the mountain is more terrifying than the 18 bends of the mountain road. The scenic area car drives fast, and every turn almost makes my heart jump out. I think the bus that had an accident in Zhuoer Mountain was also because it drove too fast. Secondly, the construction level of the various viewing points and roads in Kanbula is really average. There are often landslides on the road. Except for a long viewing wooden plank road, the other viewing platforms are built very casually.

Let's talk about the scenic spot's sightseeing itinerary. 1. The sightseeing bus only stops at three points along the way. Except for the largest wooden plank road, which is worth seeing, the other sightseeing spots are very passable. 2. The boat ticket is not bundled with the bus ticket, but if you don't buy the boat ticket, you can only walk dozens of kilometers back to the entrance by yourself, which is equivalent to forcing tourists to buy boat tickets. 3. There is no explanation or notice throughout the whole journey, and you have to change cars constantly. If we are not following a small tour group, we don't know whether we should get off or get on the bus, and which bus to get on. 4. You have to walk a muddy road to change to the boat. If it rained a few days before you went there... I can't even imagine it. .

The ticket price for Kanbula is 240 yuan per person (including bus and boat tickets). This price is not high for many scenic spots. It is a pity that such a beautiful scenery is buried under an imperfect management system. Although I have complained so much, I still recommend everyone to visit Kanbula. There are still many local Tibetans living in Kanbula Mountain. You can meet the smiling meows along the way. The shock brought by overlooking the magnificent reservoir from the top of the mountain is something I cannot tell you in words. The temperature in Kanbula in October is slightly lower and the wind is quite strong, but the poplar trees all over the mountains are golden. As long as it is not cloudy, Kanbula will be unbelievably beautiful.

I feel that places like Kanbula are truly called national geological parks. It feels wonderful to be in it, with forests and geological features. Fortunately, we saw the sun when we went down the mountain and took beautiful photos.

The first stop of the journey, I slept for less than five hours after getting off the plane, and then I arrived at Kanbula with a bumpy ride. So when you cross many obstacles and see the magnificent picture appear in front of you, the excitement is really indescribable.

I feel lucky today. The weather has improved. There was no sun at the beginning, but the sun came out after we arrived at Lingshan Holy Water. The scenery became more beautiful. Kanbula is a scenic spot that is not fun, but it is also very interesting to travel with a few friends. It is especially beautiful to take pictures!

The most amazing thing here is that the yellow water and the green water meet but do not merge. When you enter the yellow water from the green water side, you can see a clear dividing line. I don’t know why, but from this place, the clear lake water turns into turbid yellow in an instant. The crew said it was because of sedimentation, but we can’t figure out the specific principle. Regardless of this, how can such a beautiful place live up to such bright sunshine!

The biggest surprise of this trip to Qinghai. The scenery is pleasant and commercialization is not so serious. I also stayed in Dehong Village in the scenic area for one night. The Tibetan-style kang is very comfortable. The weather was slightly sunny when I entered on the first day, and the mountains were shrouded in clouds and mist on the second day. Each has its own style. Like Hemu, I hope to have the opportunity to come again in the future and stay for two more days.

On Friday, July 29, 2016, I entered from the main gate of Jianzha County at 11:30 noon, and my colleague drove in from Guide (side gate) at 12 noon. Today the tour guide said that more than 1,300 people entered, and more than 300 people gathered at the dock. The cars were too busy! ! ! ! There were only 1,300 people. (If the tour guide was right), there was no one to organize the transfer except the dock! Each parking spot only gives 10 minutes, otherwise the driver will not wait, you can wait for the next bus, but today it may be after 7 pm if you have to wait to get out!



In comparison, the experience on the boat was pretty good, just because the scenery was beautiful and the boat driver didn't say a word!



This is a scenic spot under construction. The transportation capacity of vehicles and ships is not enough. It is far worse than Jiuzhaigou and Yuntaishan! The road traffic in the scenic area is not good. Some roads are still gravel roads with potholes. Many scenic spots are also under construction. In addition, the road surface is bumpy and uneven starting from 10 kilometers from the scenic area in the direction of Jianzha County!!!

You may be able to see better if you drive into the scenic area from Guide, but my colleague was forced to buy a full ticket of 240/person after he hesitated for a long time! Moreover, the traffic in the scenic area is very poor, and the risk of driving by yourself is high! It is a terrible thing to meet the crazy scenic area car! Please consider it! My colleague who went in from Guide said that the scenery along the way was good (not in Kanbula Park). The journey takes about 3 hours.



I advise you to wait a few years until the services are fully developed and improved before coming back!
