In fact, this trip was very pleasant, but I still give this scenic spot a particularly poor service score. We did our homework before. We didn't dare to take the highway during the May Day holiday. It is said that there was a 4-hour traffic jam after getting off the highway. We took the Yellow River Highway and went directly to the scenic parking lot. There was basically no traffic jam and we entered the parking lot smoothly. We queued for more than an hour to buy tickets. We needed to buy a 40-yuan scenic sightseeing bus ticket, but we could get on the bus quickly. When we went back, we took the highway. It was estimated that the highway exit was jammed for at least 7 or 8 kilometers. The traffic jam required queuing to enter the scenic parking lot. The parking lot is a three-story structure with a large slope that requires a half-slope start. Many cars parked and dared not go up. The cars behind easily cut in line, making it difficult to enter the parking lot. The cars behind could only leave a few cars and enter a few cars, which caused serious traffic jams at the highway exit. The 7-kilometer queue did not reach the entrance of the scenic spot for 4 hours.

We took the earliest bus at 7:30 from the South Bus Station opposite Yan'an Railway Station to Hukou Waterfall on the Shaanxi side. It took more than an hour to reach Nanniwan, and the driver asked everyone to get off the bus to take pictures. I'm going to drive during the National Day holiday and have made many plans, hoping to go to Hukou.

I had already stayed in Linfen the night before going to Hukou. I was disappointed to hear that the Shanxi side was closed. Later, I searched the news and found that the Shaanxi side was still open, so I happily went there.

The drive from Linfen was 2 hours, the road was smooth, basically at cruise control, 80 on mountain roads and 120 on flat roads.

We queued at the door for half an hour. Fortunately, I asked my wife to queue up for tickets in advance, so the queues for the bus and tickets only took 30 minutes.

The parking lot is huge. If you park far away, it will take 5 minutes to walk to the ticket office.

Tickets need to be exchanged on site, and you cannot enter directly using a QR code or text message. In addition, you need to purchase a shuttle bus for 40 yuan per person.

If you are lucky, you can sit in the first row above the driver when taking the bus, which feels great.

The shuttle bus only takes about 10 minutes along the Yellow River. There is actually not much to see in this section. If you want to see it, you can go towards Hancheng, where there is a sightseeing line along the Yellow River.

When I arrived at Hukou Waterfall, I didn't feel it was particularly shocking. It might be because I had too high expectations due to many people's shocking descriptions, or maybe the high water level resulted in a small drop in height, or maybe the Shaanxi side was not as spectacular as the Shanxi side.

The waterfall is not a straight line, but a C or L shape. Therefore, from the Shaanxi side, you can face part of the waterfall directly and the other part from the side. I believe that from the Shanxi side, you can face the entire waterfall directly. Moreover, there seems to be a dragon cave on the Shanxi side from which you can look up at the waterfall.

However, due to the high water level, many observation platforms on the west side of the mountain have been submerged. In fact, part of the mountain on the Shaanxi side has also been submerged, but it has not affected the higher locations.

There were no shows on the big stage behind the waterfall, which was a pity.

The child felt that many donkeys there were being abused and being ridden to take photos to make money, and she was very unhappy.

Due to time constraints, we made an exception and had a meal in the scenic area. Not only did we have to shout when talking face to face (the hawking loudspeakers were super loud), but it was the first time in my life that I had eaten unpalatable cold noodles, and it was my first meal after entering Shaanxi. I was speechless.

On the way back, there was a long bus queue, it was crowded and the scheduling was chaotic. Although we didn't say a word, many passengers on the bus kept complaining about the chaotic management.

In short, how should I put it, it’s a check-in spot. Anyway, I won’t consider going there in the future, but maybe I can consider going to the west side of the mountain.

The Shanxi side is not open, but the Shaanxi side is. Some attractions cannot be understood just by watching videos or pictures. If you have the opportunity, you must come and experience it in person.

Although it was booked on the bus ticket interface of Ctrip, it was actually a one-day tour and was also sold on other travel websites (such as Qunar.com). Many passengers on the bus thought it was a round-trip bus ticket to Hukou Waterfall. As a result, when waiting to get on the bus, I found out that it was a separate group. It was said on the Internet that it would depart from Xi'an at 6:30 in the morning and drive about 4 hours to the destination. However, the bus picked up people everywhere in Xi'an that morning. It was already past 8 o'clock when it actually departed, and it was about 1 o'clock in the afternoon when it arrived at the scenic spot. In addition, the tour guide on the bus also asked us to "voluntarily" pay 30 yuan per person per meal for food. The tour guide meant this: the food fee is voluntary, but firstly, the bus must stop at the collective dining area for everyone to eat; secondly, the dining area will give priority to the group, and the individual will be delayed, so everyone in the car has to wait for you. What a joke! What kind of voluntary is this?

We could tolerate these things on the way, but the most annoying thing was that our main destination was Hukou Waterfall, but the tour guide only gave us 40 minutes to visit the Hukou Waterfall, but only allocated more than an hour to the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum, because the area of the next attraction on the direct bus was very small, while the area of the Yellow Emperor Mausoleum was very large.

Finally, you can only see the side of the Hukou Waterfall on the Shaanxi side, but you can see the whole picture on the Shanxi side, so it is recommended that you see it from the Shanxi side if possible. Also, don't take a one-day tour bus or tour group, it's really a rip-off!

I left at 4 or 5 and got off at 11.

We went there in May, the water was huge and clear, not yellow at all, it was spectacular!

Shaanxi on this side and Shanxi on the other side are far apart. It's so shocking and spectacular! The closer I get, the colder I feel. My heart is flying and I'm soaked. The Yellow River is really roaring. I finally understand what it means to jump into the Yellow River and still not be able to wash it off. My whole body is covered with very fine Yellow River sand.

Key points: It is best to bring a raincoat. The water of the Yellow River is very strong. If you get close to it, you will see a rainbow. It is very beautiful, strong and shocking. I signed up for a one-day tour of the Yellow River because it is too far away. It takes more than ten hours to go back and forth. If you go by yourself, you will have to rent a car, but the price is a bit expensive. Otherwise, you have to go around and around, which is troublesome.

When signing up for a tour group, please note: Don't pay the Hukou fee in full at once, because the travel agency said that it would be a separate Hukou, but in reality that is impossible. Basically, they will arrange the Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum, so if you don't pay it in full, at least they can take you back to your original place after Hukou. If you don't agree, you can only wait at the entrance of the Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum for two hours, and then you will pay half of the fee. It is recommended not to pay it in full at once, and you can act according to the situation at that time. At that time, there were only one or two people in the whole car who wanted to go to the Yellow Emperor's Mausoleum, and then we met a good tour guide who helped us arrange a car transfer, and those who wanted to go were transferred to other cars, and those who didn't go were transferred here, and then we arrived in the city at six or seven o'clock.

To be honest, I don't even want to give it one star! Let me first say the conclusion, the service is too rubbish, the scenery is not important, if you don't want to be ripped off, don't come!!! China is not the only waterfall! If it doesn't work, it's better to go abroad! Talk about the experience of coming to Hukou Waterfall today. We drove according to the navigation and arrived at the entrance of the scenic parking lot. The security guard at the entrance told us to go back and park in the parking lot two kilometers away, and then buy a bus ticket to the scenic spot. The security guard clearly told us that this was done to cheat money... Actually, if you want to cheat money, I will accept that you charge more parking fees. What do you mean by asking us to go back to park and then take the bus? We went back and parked the car in the parking lot they said, and when I bought the ticket, I specifically asked the ticket seller if I could buy the ticket with WeChat or Alipay. The answer I got was that I could use a bank card or cash. I didn't bring cash, so I brought a bank card. When we took the bus to the ticket office, the ticket seller told us that we could only use cash, and no other payment methods were allowed, and buying tickets online was not allowed! And there were no ATM machines around! You can only go to the nearby shops to add money and withdraw cash... There are four or five ticket sellers standing in the ticket hall, and only one ticket window is open. Their attitude is very arrogant! I have been traveling by car for more than half a month and visited many scenic spots. Today I am really disgusted. After a series of unpleasant experiences, it doesn’t matter whether the scenery is good or not. This is not the only waterfall in China. I sincerely suggest that you don’t come if you can! We came from the Shaanxi side, and you can also go to the Shanxi side. I will not comment on the service attitude there. The Shaanxi side is just two words: garbage!!!

Maybe many places were frozen, so there was no drop in the waterfall = = So I didn’t feel that the Hukou Waterfall was that spectacular... It just looked like a river. It will be quite beautiful in the summer when the water volume is high. However, the feeling of thousands of miles of ice is still quite novel. Moreover, it was also my first time to see the Yellow River.

I heard that there is a scenic spot called "Dragon Cave" in the Shanxi side of the scenic area, where you can see the waterfall from a low place. It sounds quite interesting hhh

I took a three-hour car ride, a total of seven hours round trip, just to watch it for an hour, but I still think it was worth it.

From a distance, you can hear the sound of rushing water, like a thousand horses galloping. When you get closer, it is even more deafening. Looking up, you suddenly understand where Li Bai's sigh of "The water of the Yellow River comes from the sky, rushing to the sea and never returning" comes from. The river surface is 20 to 30 meters, and the river flows very fast. When the water flows to the shore, the river suddenly narrows, and the river gushes down like a yellow dragon rushing out. The water drops densely hit the body, and the taste is very sour. Even so, I still can't bear to move away. This spectacular scene is beyond words. It is the source of Kunlun Yan's big flow, and Yuguan Jiuzhuan is collected in a pot!

The special weather and topography have created a wonderful sight. When the sun is high in the sky, the strong light is reflected on the splashing water droplets of the waterfall, forming a beautiful rainbow. As the position of the sun moves, the rainbow is also moving little by little, which is a spectacular sight. Tourists are crowded in waves, but the waterfall has never stopped for a moment. According to the scenic area manager, due to the huge scouring force of the river water, the waterfall moves several meters upstream every year. If this continues, there will be no Hukou in a hundred years.

If you go to Linfen, Shanxi, there is a direct train from Xi'an North Station to Linfen, which takes about 2 hours. There are many trains. You can arrive in Linfen one night in advance, stay overnight, and set off for Hukou Waterfall early the next morning. Linfen also has a bus that goes directly to Hukou Waterfall, but it is recommended to sign up for a tour group or charter a car in advance during the Golden Week. The journey takes about 2 hours. ps: You can sign up for a tour group online, and you usually have to book it one day in advance. The cost during the May Day holiday is about 180-200 yuan per person.

We chose to charter a car. Although the cost was a bit expensive, including tickets, it cost more than 300 yuan per person, but at least we could freely control the departure and return time and avoid the peak period of tour groups. It is said that traffic jams are particularly serious during the Golden Week. Generally, tour groups depart at 8 o'clock, but we departed at 6:30 and returned at noon, so there was no traffic jam along the way.
