The North Peak of Huashan is also known as Yuntai Peak, with an altitude of 1,614 meters. There are many landscapes on the peak, including the Zhenwu Hall, Jiaogong Stone Chamber, Changchun Stone Chamber, Yunu Window, Fairy Oil Tribute, Shentu Cliff, Yiyun Pavilion, Laojun Hanging Plow, Tieniu Terrace, Baiyun Fairyland Stone Archway, etc. Each scenic spot is accompanied by beautiful myths and legends.
The North Peak is the key point to the other four peaks. Although it is not as high as the other peaks, it is very steep, with cliffs on three sides and only one mountain ridge leading to the south. The situation is very dangerous and it is easy to defend but difficult to attack. The story of "Taking Huashan by Strategy" happened here. In 1949, the remnants of the Kuomintang wanted to take advantage of the danger of the North Peak of Huashan to resist stubbornly. Under the guidance of the villagers, the People's Liberation Army climbed the North Peak from the desperate situation with bamboo poles and ropes, thus completely annihilating the enemy defending Huashan.

There are advantages and disadvantages to going in the off-season. The advantage is that there are not many people going at 8 o'clock in the morning, including no need to queue when returning. When we returned at noon, we saw people waiting for the bus. The disadvantage is that the cableway of the West Peak is under maintenance, so we can only take it to the North Peak. I couldn't walk from the North Peak to Canglongling, so I returned. If I took it directly to the West Peak, I could quickly see the whole Huashan. It is said that the scenery of the West Peak and the East Peak is very beautiful, but I really can't walk 😭 I met many people who had returned from night climbing on the way. They are really great. A young couple met them twice. They were also returning from a night tour. After we met them at Canglongling, we went down the mountain one after another. When we took the bus back to the door, we met them again. As a result, the girl took out her pocket and forgot to lock the safety lock on the mountain 😂😂😂😂 I feel sorry for them. The journey was really interesting. Thanks to the uncles and aunts who traveled with me for taking special care of me.
The North Peak is 1,614 meters above sea level and is one of the main peaks of Huashan. It is named because of its location in the north. The North Peak is surrounded by cliffs, with clouds above and the ground below. It stands alone and looks like a cloud platform, so it is also called Yuntai Peak. The peak is adjacent to Baiyun Peak in the north and Liangzhang Mountain in the east. It is connected to the three peaks of East, West and South above and the dangerous road of Gouzhuang Gorge below. The peak is composed of several groups of huge rocks, which is natural. There is a platform at the top. There was originally a Yiyun Pavilion, and the ruins are now left. It is a good place to look south at the three peaks of Huashan and Canglong Ridge.
There are many scenic spots on the North Peak, including the Zhenwu Hall, Jiaogong Stone Chamber, Changchun Stone Chamber, Yunu Window, Fairy Oil Tribute, Shentu Cliff, Yiyun Pavilion, Laojun Hanging Plow Place, Tieniu Terrace, Baiyun Fairyland Stone Archway, etc., and each scenic spot is accompanied by beautiful myths and legends.
Huashan North Peak is the closest to Huashan Visitor Center and is far away from the other four peaks (East, South, West, and Central). You can walk to the North Peak or take the cable car. From the top of the North Peak, you can see the four peaks in the south and enjoy a beautiful view. The following four photos, the first three were taken in the morning while taking the North Peak cable car to the North Peak, and the last one was taken on the way to Jinsuoguan, after passing the Ear-Chai Cliff.
Standing on the platform in front of Yuntai Villa, it is also a good location to see the South Peak and West Peak.
The mountains in the east are beautifully illuminated by the setting sun.
You can see the cable car device below by looking down from the railing~
Huashan North Peak is the highest peak in Huangshan. The view from there is particularly good, overlooking the entire Huadan scenery.
Climbing Huashan at night, the first peak you reach! You have to pass Baichi Gorge and Qianchi Chuang!
The earliest developed peak in Huashan, where Huashan was conquered, has a slightly lower altitude than other peaks and the scenery is also very nice!
20190414 Came to Huashan and only bought tickets. I hiked up and down the North Peak, which took 5 hours. The scenery was beautiful and the amount of exercise was just right. I only visited the North Peak.
Huashan is famous for its dangers. It is indeed very dangerous. When walking on the mountain, you often have to hold on to the iron ropes beside you.
The lowest peak of Huashan. The first peak you pass on foot.
Climbing Huashan at night, it took 4 hours to reach the top of the North Peak. It was not easy.
Beifeng is where the five greatest martial arts masters meet at Mount Huashan to compete.
From the North Peak, the first peak, it was very exciting.
Climbing Huashan Mountain at night, it took 6 hours to reach the place where the Huashan Sword Contest was held. I was so tired that I didn't want to move.
The cable car can only take you to half of Huashan North Peak, and you still need to walk the rest step by step. The higher you go, the lower the temperature, so don't walk too fast. It's best to hold on if you can, because some stairs are slanted, there is snow, and the ground is slippery. So you must pay attention to safety, because there are cliffs on the other side of the handrail. When I climbed to the top of the North Peak, I was suddenly a little excited. After all, there was an endless sky in front of me, and the mountains were accompanied by unmelted snow and cloudless. It made people feel like they were in a fairyland.
Here, you can enjoy the feeling of "seeing the small mountains at a glance", and you are closer to the blue sky and white clouds. When you reach the top of Beifeng, you must visit the stone tablet of "Huashan Sword Contest" to leave a souvenir.
In July 2012, I went to Shaanxi for 7 days and stayed in Huashan for 2 days. I climbed all night. From 7pm to 1am, I finally climbed the North Peak, one of the five peaks, also known as Yuntai Peak, for 6 hours. The North Peak is 1,614 meters above sea level. This peak is surrounded by cliffs, with clouds on top and earth veins below. It stands alone and looks like a cloud platform, hence the name. The story of "taking Huashan by wisdom" happened here. Climbing Yuntai Peak, while appreciating the natural creation, you can feel the brilliant civilization left by ancient sages such as Zhenwu Hall, Jiaogong Stone Chamber, Changchun Stone Chamber, and Yunu Window, and listen to the beautiful myths and legends passed down from generation to generation.
The mountain road from Yuquanyuan to the North Peak is winding. The actual altitude of the North Peak is less than 1,614 meters. But when I climbed to about 1,200 meters, I found that the altitude indicator on my phone was fluctuating.

In the past, the only way to go up the mountain was to walk to the North Peak, which was full of dangers, including the three major dangers of Huashan. You can take the cable car to climb the North Peak to see the Huashan Sword Stele inscribed by Mr. Jin Yong. Those with good physical strength can go all the way up from the lowest North Peak.
I don’t know if it’s because we’ve seen too many beautiful views in Xinjiang, but we didn’t have the desire to take pictures of Huashan except for sighing at its steepness.
Here I would like to remind everyone that after getting off the North Peak Cableway, the real North Peak (with the inscription of Jin Yong on Mount Huashang) is in the opposite direction of the way up the mountain. Please follow the signs for the North Peak. If you just keep going up, you will miss the North Peak.
The North Peak is the lowest of the five peaks and is also the best place to see the panoramic view of Mount Huashan, but today there was heavy fog and nothing could be seen.
The North Peak of Huashan is indeed very low in height compared to the other four peaks, but it has a special status in Huashan, basically like a mountain gate. There are two ways to get up. One is the Yuquanyuan route that we chose to climb at night, and the other is the North Peak Cableway, which takes you to the North Peak through Jinsuoguan before going to the other four peaks. In fact, you can also watch the sunrise from the top of the North Peak, because when you go up, you don’t have time to go to the East Peak (there are indeed many people watching the sunrise at the East Peak), so the effect of watching it from the North Peak is also good
The only way to hike up Mount Huashan, whether it is the Huashan Road or the Huashan Road, is to first climb the North Peak and then travel to other peaks from here.
The sun gradually sets, and the sunlight and the mountain peaks give me a sense of looking down on the whole mountain. Gradually, the golden light falls, and I am very satisfied anyway. The sunset at the North Peak is very beautiful, and the scene is much more beautiful and shocking than the picture. Although the sunset is not rendered in one piece, it is still very beautiful. We were so tired that we stayed at the top of the North Peak for a long time, eating sausages and drinking water. I felt like I didn't want to leave when I sat there. Just a reminder, except for each peak, you must not rest for more than ten minutes in other places when climbing Huashan, believe me. Otherwise, you will collapse because of the fatigue of rest.
I am going to climb Huashan on July 20th. I plan to stay at the East Peak for one night and watch the sunrise on the 21st. I don't want to climb all night. Friends with the same itinerary can form a group. Because I booked a four-person standard room at the East Peak Jintian Villa, and there are only two of me, I hope to find one or two friends who are willing to share the room and share the room fee. My WeChat is michaelzhao198. Note that it is July 20, 2018!
Going up and down the North Peak is the easiest and most strenuous part. The easiest part is taking the cable car up and down, and the strenuous part is climbing by yourself. The whole way is basically stairs. It took me one hour and forty-five minutes to get down, and my legs hurt for a week.

If you want to take photos, I suggest you take them at the top of the North Peak. When we went there, there was no one there. Later, I saw the same monument at the West Peak, and many people lined up to take photos.
The North Peak is the lowest among the four peaks.
The original plan was to take the cable car up to the North Peak and walk down to the West Peak, not to go back! As fate would have it, the North Peak cableway was under maintenance. We could only go up from the west and down from the north. In order to avoid going back, we gritted our teeth and walked down from the North Peak. In addition to sun protection, remember to bring gloves. To get water and dry food, it's not just that the prices in the scenic area are expensive, but the hygiene up there is so bad that you don't want to patronize it. To put it simply, we held our urine all the way, and we just couldn't find a public toilet up there to solve it. You guys can fill in your brains yourself! It's hard to find a water source for washing hands, and how precious the water sources in the convenience stores and restaurants up there are... It took us 4 hours to go up from the west and down from the north.
The North Peak is the first stop on foot and is the only way to other peaks. However, there are many tourists because there is a cable car going up and down the North Peak.
This is where the most beautiful scenic spots of Huashan are concentrated. It is very beautiful.
The lowest of the five peaks of Huashan. But Huashan has clouds, and if you haven't been to the North Peak, you haven't been to Huashan. The view from the top of the North Peak is the best, and you can see the Wei River like a belt and the towering mountains in the distance.
Huashan is really steep. I am not afraid to climb it at night, but I don't dare to climb it during the day.
If you want to go down the mountain from the North Peak cable car, you can first go to Canglong Ridge, then the southeast and west peaks, and finally go to the North Peak to save some distance and not have to go back.
Yuntai Peak is one of the main peaks of Huashan Mountain, with an altitude of 1,614 meters. The peak is surrounded by cliffs on all sides, with clouds on top and the ground below. You can start climbing after you get out of the North Peak Cableway. First, you should reach the top of North Peak. You can visit the Xuanwu Temple on the top of North Peak, which enshrines Zhenwu Emperor, the northern water god.
You can take a short break at the North Peak to prepare for the endless challenges ahead. But I would like to remind you that you should not drink the coffee at the North Peak, as it tastes bad.
Relatively speaking, this is the peak with the least people. It is especially suitable for taking photos, and the costumes and props are especially cheap. Costumes are 10 yuan per person, and swords are 5 yuan per person.
The shooting location of Huashan, where you can see the whole picture of Huashan
North Peak is the first peak on the way to Huashan Mountain. It is the only way to the Central Peak, East Peak, South Peak and West Peak.
There has been only one road to Mount Huashan since ancient times. The danger of Mount Huashan is well-deserved. I hiked up and down the mountain and stayed on the mountain for one night. I saw all five peaks in the east, west, south, north and center. It was shocking and exciting.
It was the last stop before leaving Huashan. It started to rain heavily and there was nowhere to hide. We were soaked badly.
You will pass by the North Peak, the scenery is also good. When you reach the North Peak, you will reach the top of the mountain and start circumambulating the mountain.
The North Peak is a few minutes’ walk from Laojun Ligou. However, the North Peak is only the lowest peak of Huashan. For hikers on Huashan, more than half of the journey has already been completed. But for tourists who come up by the North Peak cable car, the climb has just begun. There are accommodations on the North Peak, and you can also take a rest on the North Peak to replenish your energy and continue to conquer the other four peaks.
I was planning to climb at night, but there was a force 9 gale the night before, so I gave up. It is recommended to stay at the foot of Huashan Mountain for one night during the peak season, and go up the mountain early the next morning to buy tickets to avoid queuing and delays, because the mountain bus ticket is only valid on the same day, and the ticket is valid for 2 days. The North Peak is the lowest peak, and the cable car ticket is cheaper and you can climb Huashan Mountain more. I arrived at the North Peak at 6:30 and was amazed by its beauty.
The North Peak is where we took the cableway down Huashan Mountain. It was getting late, so we walked in a hurry.
The scenery is beautiful along the way. I recommend you take the loop route and visit all four peaks. If you are really short on time, you can take the cable car to the North Peak.
Looking at the West Peak Yuanbao Mountain from the top of the North Peak, it is really beautiful
The Huashan Cableway goes up from the west and down from the north, which is a very wise and good plan. From the South Peak, you will hardly climb all the way down, because your physical strength is the weakest at this time. However, the knees will be most damaged by the heavy pressure, so it is best to wear knee braces.
Due to the influence of heavy fog and rain, I was unable to fully appreciate the danger and steepness of Mount Huashan. We will meet again on a certain day of a certain year and month.
I arrived at the entrance of Huashan Mountain at 1:30 pm, bought tickets and started climbing at 2:00 pm. Following the flow of people, I entered from the north and climbed uphill all the way. The people around me kept changing, walking and stopping, stopping to take pictures. It was a little after 5 o'clock when I arrived at the North Peak. I was moved by the beautiful scenery of the North Peak. It was like being in a fairyland. I took a deep breath and inhaled the fairy air.
It was still drizzling when we reached the North Peak, so our shoes and clothes were soaked. We could see the clouds and the view of Canglong Ridge.
The north wind is the first one to be relatively low, and you can feel the momentum of Huashan
It was a pity that the weather was bad when I went there, and I didn't finish the climb.
2017.7.28 The first thing we decided to do when climbing Huashan Mountain was to climb from the North Peak in order to experience the three dangers of Huashan Mountain. The climbing journey took about 4 hours and was very challenging. It was worth going.
After getting off the cableway, you will reach the North Peak. Although the scenery is not as good as the other peaks, the mountain is very steep, with cliffs on three sides and only one mountain ridge leading to the south. The situation is very dangerous and it is a place that is easy to defend but difficult to attack. The story of "Taking Huashan by Strategy" happened here. On the eve of Huayin's liberation in 1949, Han Zipei, the commissioner of the Eighth Administrative Inspection District of Shaanxi Province of the Kuomintang and the commander of the Sixth Brigade of Shaanxi Security, led more than 100 remnants to escape to Huashan, trying to rely on the natural dangers to fight stubbornly and make a final struggle. With the help of the people of Huayin, the Chinese People's Liberation Army broke the legend that "Huashan has only one road since ancient times", climbed up the North Peak from Huangfu Valley, and attacked the remnant bandits by surprise, creating the miracle of the magic soldiers flying over the natural moat and the heroes taking Huashan by strategy. Therefore, there is a memorial pavilion next to the Ear-Cleaning Cliff, and on both sides of the pillars are written "The three armies of meritorious service for thousands of years are brave and shock the world, and the generals and soldiers of the model for generations are smart and shock the gods and ghosts."
Since travel agencies go up and down from the West Peak, most of the people who go to the North Peak are individual tourists, so there is no need to queue up to take the cable car to the North Peak. However, the queue for the cable car down at 8 o'clock in the evening will be long, and the queue will stop after 8 o'clock.
Take the cable car to the North Peak, and walk for about 10 minutes to reach the top of the North Peak and see the altitude monument. The "Huashan Sword Contest" on the North Peak is always the most crowded place for sword contests. If you see a lot of people, there is really no need to squeeze in here, because there are "Huashan Sword Contest" stone tablets everywhere on Huashan, including the five major peaks!
Huashan-North Peak:
Maybe it’s because it’s summer~
So many people!!!
After climbing up a mountain with great difficulty,
Everyone rests here.
Wuchu Peak, this shouldn’t be difficult either.
Huashan is famous for its dangers.
On this not-so-high peak, you can fully appreciate the unique scenery of Huashan~
That’s the fun!
It feels like there are dangerous paths everywhere on Huashan.
Therefore, everywhere is scenery~
From 6 am to 6 pm, I climbed three peaks.
Keep working hard in the future!!!
After nearly three hours of climbing, we finally reached the North Peak. The endless scenery made you realize that all your efforts were worth it, and it strengthened your confidence to move forward to Canglong Ridge.
If you hike up Mount Huashan, the first peak you reach is the North Peak, which is also the lowest peak among the five peaks of Mount Huashan.
Yuntai Peak is one of the main peaks of Huashan Mountain, with an altitude of 1,614 meters. This peak is surrounded by cliffs on all sides, with clouds on top and the earth veins below. It stands alone and looks like a cloud platform, hence the name. Because it is located in the north, it is also called the North Peak. The story of "Taking Huashan by Strategy" happened here. It usually takes 4-6 hours to hike from Yuquanyuan to Beifeng.
You can reach the North Peak directly by taking the North Peak Cableway.
From the North Peak, continue southwards, passing Canglong Ridge, and then to the Central, South, East and West Peaks.
Since ancient times, there has been only one road to Mount Huashan. Climbing up will lead you to the North Peak. This is halfway to the summit of Mount Huashan, and victory is in sight. After walking along the Ear Cliff, Canglong Ridge, and Jinsuo Pass from the North Peak, you can choose to walk along the East Peak, West Peak, and summit the South Peak. For those with limited physical strength, you can take the North Peak cableway directly to the North Peak, then challenge Canglong Ridge, and climb the East, South, and West Peaks.
We started climbing around ten o'clock and reached the North Peak at a little after one. This was only half of the journey. We were already very tired. We still needed to persist, persist, and persist to climb to the East Peak to watch the sunrise!
It is the first peak on Huashan Mountain with an altitude of more than 1,600 meters. There is a North Peak Cableway here and the scenery is beautiful. I just don't understand why there are so many mosquitoes here.
Beifeng is very ╮(╯▽╰)╭ short, that’s all I have to say~
North Peak is the shortest peak with the least number of people. When you climb to the North Peak, you will officially enter the Five Peaks and the beautiful scenery begins.
You must go, you must go. It is highly recommended to spend 2 days there, stay one night on the mountain, and the ticket price is 180 yuan.
From 12:30 to 17:10, we arrived at the top of the North Peak and walked alone.
The Battle of Huashan with the inscription by Jin Yong is at the North Peak. It takes about 7 hours to walk from Yuquanyuan to the North Peak. You can take pictures here to get a panoramic view of Huashan.
There are places to rest and eat, and there is even a cafe! It's really not easy to be in such an environment! Although the scenery is not as good as that of Dongfeng, it is also unique.
Climbing the mountain is really tiring, too tiring. Halfway through, there are many so-called turning backs, as if telling you, you are tired, give up, and turn back and go down the mountain... It is still a great sense of accomplishment to climb to the top with all your might
After exiting Laojun Ligou, you will see a stone wall with many inscriptions. Going forward, you will pass Qitian Cave and reach the North Peak of Huashan, also known as Yuntai Peak. On the top of the peak, there is a very open flat land with Yuntai Villa for accommodation. At the same time, you can see the first stone tablet of Huashan Sword Contest (you will see many more later). There is also a very interesting piece of China Stone here, which looks like a map of China.
Not long after the ladder is the North Peak, which is the main breakthrough point for climbing the mountain. Many tourists who do not take the cable car climb the North Peak from Yuquanyuan first because the terrain is relatively low. How about the famous turtle back stone near the North Peak? It is a work of nature, and it is quite interesting! There is a dragon vein at the North Peak, so it is more prominent than the other peaks. There is a viewing platform here, where you can see the three peaks of Huashan and Canglong Ridge. Standing in front of the stone tablet of the North Peak and looking at the North Peak, it looks like a gold ingot, right? Yes, this is the characteristic of the North Peak, it seems to be called Yuanbao Mountain!
