Wave Valley Scenic Area

The Wave Valley Scenic Area is located in Longzhou Town, 22 kilometers southeast of Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province. It is a typical basin-type canyon, surrounded by red rocks and green waters. The area within a hundred kilometers is covered by red sandstone, which is very similar to the Wave Valley in Arizona, USA. The red color of the Wave Valley in Arizona is interspersed with white lines, while the Jingbian Wave Valley is mainly red.

The rock in Wave Valley is called red sandstone, which is called "arsenic sandstone" in academia and Danxia landform in geology. It is named because the sandstone lines are like waves. Most of the red sandstone in Longzhou is covered by thick loess. After tens of millions of years of strong winds and seasonal rainstorms on the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi, the red mountains gradually emerged and were "carved" into various shapes by the magic of nature.

It is more than 20 kilometers from Jingbian County to the scenic spot, and it takes half an hour to drive. There are many signs near Longzhou Town, indicating that the scenic spot will be temporarily closed to the public due to construction from June 1, 2018, but it can be visited normally and no entrance fee is charged. The parking lot, toilets and other supporting facilities of the scenic spot are not yet complete and are under construction. The conditions are not very good. Please be mentally prepared if you come to visit in the near future.

I asked the hotel front desk in Jingbian County and they said the scenic area was closed and could not be visited. The information on the Internet was not very accurate and detailed, so I searched for the phone number of the accommodation near the scenic area and asked directly. They gave me an accurate answer that the scenic area was still open for visit. There are many similar situations in China that can use this method to understand the specific situation of the scenic spot. However, you can ask Bolanggu Dingge to make a Shaanxi North Grand Loop for you. It can be five to ten days.

This Chinese Wave Valley has not been fully developed yet. There is no entrance fee, only parking fees.

There are three parts in total: Flame Danxia, Earth Core Danxia, and Water Danxia. I didn't go to the Water Danxia this time, but took a photo from a distance in the car.

There are signposts near the scenic area, so it is not difficult to find them. I parked my car in the parking lot of Huoyan Danxia and charged 10 yuan for parking.

You can walk around freely here, which makes the original clear lines in many places become blurred. I really feel sorry to see such a beautiful scenery disappear.

According to the locals, there are five scenic spots in the entire scenic area, A, B, C, D, and E. You can drive to visit No. 1 to No. 4 by yourself. No. 5 has a bad road condition and is more than ten kilometers away. You need to pay for local people to lead the way. We did not go to No. 5 due to time constraints. If other friends have gone, please leave a message to communicate. But maybe only the locals call it 1 to 5, and there are no relevant road signs. Jingbian Wave Valley is located in Yanjia Village, Longzhou Township, 22 kilometers southeast of Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province, commonly known as Yan Village. From Jingbian County, it takes half an hour to drive to Longzhou. I went to Wave Valley from Yan'an and lived near the South Bus Station. I took a bus from the South Bus Station to Jingbian (there were many cars, about 50.5 yuan per trip per hour), and drove for more than 2 hours to Jingbian County Bus Station. There was a minibus to Longzhou Township at the station (6 yuan). The driver recommended a homestay and sent us directly to our accommodation. The online guide said that most people take a taxi from Jingbian County Bus Station for about 80 yuan to the scenic spot. The homestay recommended by the driver is close to Scenic Area B, with a double standard room for 90 yuan, and the conditions are OK.

There are really beautiful wave patterns. Standing on the waves, you feel like you are sailing in the red ocean. Jingbian Wave Valley consists of three parts. I like the part where we played before lunch the most. It is said to be the smallest of the three wave valleys, but because of the small number of people and beautiful scenery, I felt the only time I felt like I was in a paradise on earth during this trip. The beauty of this canyon lies in its azure blue eyes. The red canyon embraces a deep and beautiful lake like a sapphire. The photos we took by the lake are beautiful. The other two canyons are more majestic and more fun to climb up and down; unfortunately, the advertisements for Changsha stinky tofu are too noisy, and the scenic area is like a messy market, which reduces a little fun.

Travel tips: 1. There are ruins of the Ming Great Wall on the way to Wave Valley, right on the roadside. You can check the exact location on Baidu. We passed by it in a flash in the car and had no way to get off to take a look. 2. The food at the local farmhouse is good. For 30 yuan, you can eat delicious lamb stewed with tofu and fragrant yellow rice rice cakes. 3. The dates and apples sold by locals in and outside the scenic area are delicious. There is also locally produced sea buckthorn juice, which is highly recommended. It is only 5 yuan, and you can drink the pulp, and it also has a mellow taste. Although the original melon seeds are black and ugly, they are surprisingly delicious. Some of my companions also bought hand-woven baskets, which are also very simple.

There is still no ticket for Wave Valley. There will be people soliciting you to take their car for a tour at the first parking lot, but they are nice and will not force you to take a ride after you refuse. Why take someone else's car if you have your own car? Although this place is quite large, it is actually connected.

I can't tell what area it is, but if you keep walking along the stairs you can reach the innermost canyon and the last line of sky.

We drove to the innermost part and walked down from the highest point to reach the narrow opening. The distance would be much shorter, but we would also miss some of the beautiful scenery on the way. There is also a reservoir-like area at the bottom of the valley.

The landform of Wave Valley is a unique landform formed by the erosion of red sandstone. The most famous similar landscape is the Antelope Canyon in the United States!

The entrance to the narrow passage is very narrow and can only accommodate one person. To be honest, such a place is quite fun, but I had to hold the rock wall with my left hand while holding the camera with my right hand, so it was still a bit difficult to walk. It is only a few dozen meters to go in, and if you want to go further, you have to climb up. So for ordinary tourists, this is the end! The end is quite spacious and you can turn around, so the people inside turn around first and go out. The whole team turned around and walked out with difficulty. When our group went out, the next group came in. The whole process was under everyone's self-discipline, orderly, without quarrels or friction!

At the Fulun Tourist Resort, there is a signpost. This is also a three-way fork. Turn right to reach the Wave Valley A Scenic Area (the main scenic area), and go straight for a short distance to reach the Wave Valley B Scenic Area.

The red sandstone in Area B is bright in color and looks like the Flaming Mountain from a distance. It is the smallest in area but very beautiful, which delighted us. Because there are fewer tourists, there are few people on the viewing platform.

We went up to the observation deck and admired the beautiful scenery. The patterns on the sandstone looked like waves. The name of Wave Valley was so vivid, presenting us with an extraordinary geological wonder.

The scenery here is magnificent. The wavy red rocks look like burning flames. The layers and layers of undulating rocks are like waves hitting the shore. The green plants growing on the rocks make this place full of vitality. The red flames and the green grass are really interesting. The rocks are severely weathered and detached. If you walk on them, you will slip on the red sand if you are not careful.

Looking at Danxia from another angle, the shape changes again. The layers of stones are like red cloth spread on the ground, unusually bright red, or like a stream of red water emerging from the loess and slowly flowing to the low-lying areas. The undulating red sandstone condenses into soft and beautiful wave-like patterns, yet it does not lose the sense of magnificence and grandeur.

There is a large parking lot in Area A, and parking is very convenient.

The Shenshu Canyon Observation Deck stretches into the air. Standing on it and looking down, the canyon is extremely deep, making people feel a little dizzy. In front of the observation deck is the deep and narrow Shenshu Canyon. From here you can only see the "sacred tree" at the top of the canyon and the peculiarly shaped red rocks around it.

Long Huishou is a very special scenic spot in the Dixin Danxia. Standing on its observation deck (Morning Mist Terrace), we can see the whole picture of the Wave Valley, which is quite spectacular.

Standing on a high place and looking at the Earth's Core Danxia Grand Canyon, it seems as if a crack has been split between the red rocks, and a corridor is built in the air in an extremely narrow valley, winding into the depths of the canyon. Here you can see red sandstones of varying depths. Over thousands of years of erosion by strong winds and flowing water, thousands of gullies cut into this piece of red sandstone have sunk and thousands of ravines have fallen forever, which is extremely spectacular and attractive.

Walking to the right, you will come to the "One Line Sky", which is a narrow crack in the mountain that can only allow one person to pass through. When you look up, you can only see a line of sky. The mountain next to the One Line Sky stands tall like a wall. At the entrance of the One Line Sky, there is already a long queue of tourists. I didn't join in the fun and turned around and left.

This scenic spot is not fully open yet. It takes about 3 hours to go around the Wave Valley. The plank road should be newly built. Slowly go down from the plank road to the bottom of the valley. Imagine how good the natural landscape would be if there were no plank road. But the journey may be more difficult. When you walk to the bottom of the valley in the Wave Valley, you will find Yanjia Village. It took more than 2 hours to finally get to the bottom of the valley. You can see the green lake from a distance. When you get closer, you will be amazed at how beautiful the scenery is. A pool of green like emerald lake water, matched with blue sky and loess, the tones are so harmonious and beautiful. During the long holiday, there are endless tourists. It is still several miles away from the scenic spot, and it is as lively as a market. The parking lot is full of self-driving cars. It is estimated that the scenic spot of Wave Valley, Yixiantian, is not allowed to enter during the holiday. It is a bit regrettable, but it is still worth a visit overall.

Wave Valley is a place I saw by chance. It has not yet been fully transformed into a scenic spot, so I went to see it before it becomes commercialized.

It is about 20km from Jingbian County to the Langbo Valley Scenic Area. Langbo Valley is divided into five scenic spots without specific names yet.

The most annoying thing is the carvings. I know almost all the surnames on the ground. This is the bad nature of human beings. They follow the crowd without considering the consequences, as if carving their names can make them immortal. I hope to put an end to these carvings.

The scenic area is divided into two parts, Canyon Danxia and Water Danxia.

Searching for Wave Valley in Gaode Maps leads to the first part of the scenic area, Canyon Danxia. The scenic area is in the development stage and currently no vehicles other than those from the village are allowed to enter. People can enter on foot. (According to locals, the scenic area will officially open for business on National Day this year)

Park your car outside the scenic area, and villagers will charge you 10 yuan for parking. (Locals will try to take you to play in the parking lot. Remember that you don't need them to take you to the first part, and you can walk in a short distance. The second part of the Water Danxia is not in the navigation, so you can ask them to take you. I will talk about it in detail later.) After paying the parking fee, walk into the scenic area along the asphalt road. After about one kilometer, you will see a big stone with Wave Valley written on it. This is the first scenic spot. Walk along the plank road and take a look. The surrounding red sandstone presents a variety of strange postures and colors under the erosion of wind and rain. The flat land is undulating, shaped like waves, and the canyon is rugged and unfathomable. After watching, return to the asphalt road and continue to walk forward. After about one kilometer, you will see the place with the plank road. It is the second scenic spot. Figure 5⃣️ was taken here. Each scenic spot is similar but different, and each has its own attractions. After playing, return to the asphalt road and walk not far to see the third scenic spot under construction. The third scenic spot is the largest and most interesting. You can walk all the way to the bottom of the valley. The scenery is very different from the previous two scenic spots. But now it is under construction, and part of the original plank road has been dismantled. It is a bit difficult to go down, and you can only take the path opened up by the construction workers. It is not easy to walk, the slope is steep and slippery. It is highly recommended for those with an adventurous spirit, it is quite exciting.

The second part of the scenic area is the Danxia on the Water, which is not in the same place as the first part. It is also divided into three scenic spots according to different locations. Two of the scenic spots can be found by following the signboards. The last scenic spot is very hidden, there are no signs around, and even the road shown in the navigation is an unknown road. Only locals can find it. ❗️Remember the villagers I just mentioned in the parking lot of the first part? Find a reliable one, bargain well, and let him take you there~ Usually they ask for 200 to take you there, but it seems that it is no problem to bargain down to 100.

This part of the scenic area of Water Danxia is undeveloped, and there is no plank road, which is particularly suitable for taking pictures. Among them, there are many people in the two scenic spots that can be found by following the signs. They are all tour groups. The eyes are full of colorful scarves flying in the wind and various spinning jumps of the aunts. Everyone suggests that the focus should be on the last scenic spot taken by the villagers. Most of the photos in my picture were taken here. Maybe because the scenic spot is a little far away, it takes 6-7 kilometers to get there on a dirt road, so there are very few people. Compared with all the scenic spots just mentioned, I like this place the most. The water surface is open, the Danxia area is large, and the shape is good. ❗️Try to arrive at dusk, when the light is best for taking pictures! The angle of light gives the wavy texture a layer of shadow, which looks more three-dimensional. Super film! Be sure to bring a drone if you have one, it will be more beautiful from a high angle~

Jingbian Wave Valley is also one of the main destinations of my trip! It is located in Yanjia Village, Longzhou Township, 22 kilometers southeast of Jingbian County, Yulin City. It takes about 3 hours to get here from Yucha Grand Canyon.

"Wave Valley" is a name given by photography enthusiasts, which effectively imitates the Wave Valley in the United States. The scenic area is covered with red Danxia landforms within a radius of nearly 100 kilometers. After tens of millions of years of wind and rain erosion, highly ornamental stone walls, stone pillars, square mountains, caves and other geological relics have been formed. It is a natural Danxia landform museum. According to the location and shape of the rocks, they are divided into: Water Danxia, Flame Danxia, Earth Core Danxia, etc.

Jingbian Wave Valley includes ABCD areas. Except for AB areas which are relatively mature, the others are still relatively primitive. It is said that many people have to ask locals to lead the way. Area C is like this. Master Zhang parked the car in a farmyard and then climbed a small hill to reach it. There is no plank road, just follow the path trampled by people. Area C is mainly Danxia on the water.

The AB area of Wave Valley is already very mature. There is a 340-meter 3D landscape glass bridge as soon as you enter the gate of the scenic area. It costs an additional 50 yuan to walk on the glass bridge. The area here is relatively large, and you can slowly visit the Flame Danxia and the Earth's Core Danxia, which usually takes about 4 hours.

Longzhou Danxia

Play time 4-5 hours

Like Mahuangliang, Longzhou Danxia is also under construction. The scenic area is very large and is divided into five areas: A, B, C, and D. Because it is not open to the public yet, we are led in by local villagers. Of course, you know the guide fee.

Area A is the essence of the essence. Don’t miss the narrow strip of sky at the bottom: there is a small path hidden by reeds on the right hand side when you go down to the lowest point.

Although no one collects tickets, the villagers collect parking fees. Longzhou Danxia is a large area, divided into 5 parts. If you are not a fan of Danxia photography, there is no need to visit all of them, because time is precious. To be honest, if you have been to Gansu and southern Xinjiang to see the Danxia there, you can skip this place. If you particularly like to see the landforms, it is still worth a visit.

Longzhou Danxia Landform Natural Landscape Park is located in Longzhou Township, 22 kilometers southeast of Jingbian County, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. It is surrounded by mountains on all sides, and the Longzhou Basin is embraced by green mountains and surrounded by green waters. The area of 100 kilometers (the main scenic area is more than 20 square kilometers) is covered by the bizarre red sandstone landform (called Danxia landform in geology). It is an excellent place for photography, adventure and tourism discovered in recent years.

I have to admire the wonders of nature. It is recommended to stay in the farmhouses around the scenic spots, where the locals are more familiar with the road conditions. Because there are no signboards in these scenic spots, you don’t know the road by yourself, and some places are not accessible by car.

Wave Valley shows a wonderful world carved by sandstone over millions of years of wind, water and time. The beauty of Danxia in Wave Valley is like a surging river and rippling blue waves. A pool of emerald-green water Danxia in the middle of the enchanting yellow and red land, with red supporting green and yellow sand making poses. Circles and layers of flowing waves, ripples, continuous and criss-crossing gullies, like whirlpools, flames, clouds and waves crashing against the shore. Get close to its splendor and touch its beauty, and your heart will be melted.

Wave Valley is currently the hottest tourist attraction in Shaanxi. It is under construction. The scenic area is severely damaged and carved too much. It is divided into five areas in total. Since areas ① and ② are closed, other areas are not easy to find. There are no road signs in the scenic area. You need to find a local to lead the way or take their car to see Wave Valley. I chose this driver to take me there. Please see the picture.

After reading for a few hours, the guides reviewed online are no longer suitable for the current situation. The Wave Valley Scenic Area is Scenic Area No. 1 and No. 2. Now it is under renovation. People and cars are not allowed to enter. The locals can take you to Scenic Area No. 3, 4, and 5, and the price is 200 yuan. Later, I found the way there myself. I wrote it down and it seems to be a bit of a waste of money. I feel that 50-100 is a reasonable price, and it can't be too black. Gaode Navigation is Scenic Area No. 1, and Scenic Area No. 2 is next to Scenic Area No. 1. Scenic Area No. 3, 4, and 5 are in another place, called Water Danxia. From Jingbian to Longzhou Town, continue 3-5 kilometers from Longzhou Town. There is a crossroads. There is a sign on the left: Water Danxia. Turn left and go forward for more than 10 kilometers. There is a parking lot. See the map for positioning. You can enter the longitude and latitude. The fee is 10 yuan. Scenic Area No. 3 and No. 4 are nearby, and Scenic Area No. 5 is opposite the lake. At Scenic Area No. 3, you can spend 4 yuan to buy a bottle of water. Just ask the auntie and you will know. If it is useful, please give a good review. It's hard work to write! The Danxia scenery is not as good as that in Zhangye, but with water, it still has its own characteristics.

The scenic area is currently under construction and not open to the public. We asked a local to lead the way into the scenic area. The guide fee is generally 40-50 yuan. Parking outside the scenic area costs 10 yuan. After entering the scenic area, if you take a car, it costs 10 yuan per person. The Wave Valley Scenic Area has added a wooden plank road to some scenic areas, dividing the scenery into two. I personally feel that it has destroyed the original appearance of the scenery. There is a line of sky in the core part of the scenic area. It is very cool and beautiful when you enter it, which is suitable for taking pictures. The water surface of the scenic area reservoir is calm, the water is green, refreshing and pleasant. There are many sheds and mechanical equipment under construction in the scenic area, which is not suitable for sightseeing. In addition, I heard from local villagers that the scenic area will be open on National Day this year and admission will be charged, and the price is estimated to be high.

The Wave Valley Scenic Area is also called the Longzhou Danxia Group. Because of its large area and characteristics, it is now divided into three small scenic areas, the Flame Danxia, the Earth's Core Danxia, and the Water Danxia. The first one we went to was the Flame Danxia, which is said to be playable for at least an hour. It was around five o'clock when we arrived at the Flame Danxia. To my surprise, there were not many tourists. We followed the guide's pace and went directly to the Internet celebrity photo-taking and punch-in point, because it was protected by fences before. Now a small part is temporarily open to let people freely use their imagination to create. In the glow of the setting sun, the color of the Flame Danxia becomes more and more red, and the waves on the ground look like Van Gogh's paintings, rolled up in circles and stacked layer by layer. Some foodies may find that it looks like hand-torn bread rolls. Oh, the special image, I drool just thinking about it. The color of the Earth's Core Danxia we visited the next day was pink and yellow, and the tour was walking on the plank road. The number of tourists here seemed crowded due to the space constraints of the plank road. Then we decided to go down to the bottom of the valley first. Since we were returning by the same route, we would take pictures on the way back. This way we could probably avoid the crowds. After going down to the bottom of the valley, there was a large area of reeds. We all felt that the Earth's Core Danxia was not as good as the Flame Danxia, but it was indeed a good place.

The fifth scenic spot of Wave Valley. There are five in total. Now the country has begun to protect it, and it is estimated that people will not be allowed to trample on it in the future.

About 10 kilometers from the scenic spot, the road was blocked and the driver said there were too many cars inside and would not let us in. The villagers led the way and a car drove fifty meters to the scenic spot. There was a parking fee near the scenic spot one kilometer away. When we got to the door, we were stopped and told that it was under maintenance. The villagers who led the way appeared again, but when we asked the tourists who had gone in, they said they didn't see anything inside. After walking a short distance, they were stopped again and would not let us pass. We returned without seeing anything. You can feel it for yourself. It's really tiring to go there on May Day.

Damn, I only saw the notice after I arrived in Jingbian. Non-local vehicles are prohibited from entering from 2019.5.1 to 2019.5.4!

The beautiful Wave Valley is a very good choice. Wave Valley is waiting for you.

At present, the scenic area is still under construction, and most local villagers take tourists to the so-called "fifth scenic area" that is not included in the construction area. The scenery is great, and the dark red sandstone has been eroded by wind to form clear lines. The road leading to the scenic area is a muddy dirt road, and we also encountered a village bully who jumped on the car and demanded money

A secret place for photography, which is still unexplored. There are 5 areas, each with its own characteristics. It takes 2 days to visit the whole area. Areas ABC are more popular. After the rain, the colors of Danxia are more colorful. It is worth a visit. For specific itinerary details, please refer to my travel notes.

When we went there, it was still an undeveloped scenic spot. We heard from locals that it would be open to the public soon. I heard how difficult it was to get to the Wave in the United States, so I decided to try to go there. I chartered a car for 200 to go to the No. 5 scenic spot, which was the most primitive and without tourists. I could take pictures like a blockbuster. When I first saw it, I was amazed at the uncanny workmanship of nature and the wasted time of hundreds of millions of years.

Most people go to Wave Valley in summer, but in fact, Wave Valley is more beautiful in winter. White snow falls on the rocks, and only at this moment can you feel this beautiful scenery. Although my cheeks and hands and feet are a little numb due to the cold wind, everything in front of me looks like a bride in red gauze, like cotton, and like grains of rice! A day and a half is so short! I feel reluctant to leave everything here! Thanks to Dingge for leading the way!

Jingbian Wave Valley is the best representative of the texture and lines in the Shaanxi Danxia landform geological belt. It has the Earth's Core Danxia in Area A, the Flame Danxia in Area B, and the Water Danxia in Area C.

It's worth a visit and must be recommended. It exceeded expectations. There are three areas, A, B, and C. There is no entrance fee now, but it looks like it will be soon. Students who want to go should hurry up!

The Geocentric Danxia is really huge, and it takes a lot of energy to walk all the way through it, but the scenery is definitely worth a visit.

I only went to Area B today, and I was shocked. Others have already praised it, so I won't say more. But you can also see that the quality of modern people is really poor! There is garbage everywhere, and names are left everywhere.
