Located on the bank of Huiquan Bay, it has a 580-meter-long and 40-meter-wide beach, and was once the largest bathing beach in Asia.
From July to September every year, there are many tourists, who swim in the sea or lie on the beach to enjoy the sea breeze.
You can also ride a jet ski or speedboat to enjoy the summer heat.
Although the No. 1 Beach in spring and autumn is not suitable for swimming, it is a good place to stroll along the seaside and enjoy the scenery.

Qingdao people are so lucky to have a bathing beach in the city. Qingdao No. 1 Bathing Beach is said to have been the largest bathing beach in Asia. It is open to the public free of charge. Because it is located in the city center, there are many tourists.
The No. 1 Beach is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and there are modern high-rise buildings on the beach. It is also very close to Qingdao Underwater World. After visiting the Underwater World, you can come here to have an intimate contact with the sea.
When we went there, it was the first day of the May Day holiday. The weather was still a little cold, but there were still many people playing in the water. The sand at the First Beach was golden yellow, fine and soft, and it was very comfortable to walk on barefoot. There were also many local aunties picking up green strips on the ground. When asked what they were picking up, they said that this was the kelp we usually eat.
👉It is a bit similar to Beidaihe, so watching the waves hitting the beach gives me a sense of déjà vu. I spent almost the entire morning strolling along the beach, taking pictures, drawing, and picking up shells. Until 11 o'clock, the sun came out and it was finally not so cold.
I saw a pile of rocks on the beach and many people were picking up things. Okay, I went to join in the fun. I saw others picking up very large conches, which were very beautiful, and I was also looking forward to it. However, I found that they were all incomplete and ugly little shells. Maybe the beautiful ones had been picked up by the professionals. Who knows? But it was my first time picking up shells, and it felt quite novel.
Located on the bank of Huiquan Bay, adjacent to Luxun Park. It has a 580-meter-long and 40-meter-wide beach, surrounded by mountains on three sides, lush green trees, and a clever combination of high-rise buildings and villas, with beautiful scenery. The water in the bay is clear, the waves are small, the beach is flat and the slope is gentle, the sand is fine and soft, and the natural conditions are excellent. The bathing beach is generally open from July 1st to September 25th every year. During this period, the bathing beach provides services such as changing clothes, flushing, storing items, and life-saving medical care.
Coming out of Luxun Park is the No. 1 Beach. The weather was still quite cold at this time, so it was not suitable for swimming. However, we saw a few elderly people swimming in the bathing area... I was shivering when I saw them. It was windy and cloudy that day, so I wrapped myself tightly! We were inexperienced and squatted on the beach to write, and then... a wave came... there was no time to retreat, and our shoes, socks, and trouser legs were soaked~
Just after the National Day holiday, the number of tourists on the beach dropped exponentially. The clock tower at the No. 1 bathing beach is a landmark building in the surrounding area. It is the first gathering point for various group activities organized by units and schools. The bathing beach is a paradise for children, and there are many beautiful and mysterious trails around it, which can allow children to gain knowledge and experience while playing.
Qingdao No. 1 Bathing Beach (formerly known as Huiquan Bathing Beach) was built in 1901. It is the essence of Qingdao's coastal scenic area. It is located in Huiquan Bay in the eastern part of the city. It is crescent-shaped, with a wide and flat surface. There are no hidden reefs or whirlpools. The water area is 580 meters by 500 meters. When the bathing beach was first built, it was only for foreigners to bathe. Chinese were not allowed to enter. Only about 100 people bathed each year. In 1914, the bathing beach was opened to Chinese people, and the number of bathers gradually increased. From the 1920s to the early 1930s, the bathing beach gradually added some equipment, including more than 10 wooden houses (changing rooms) built by the government and the people, equipped with floating platforms, simple diving platforms, sampans, and lifebuoys. When the bathing beach was opened, the Social Affairs Bureau sent doctors for rescue. There were cafes, bars, and temporary hotels on the north bank of the bathing beach. After 1934, the bathhouse was expanded to include 30 dressing rooms for men and women, restaurants, cold drink rooms, and dance halls. Donghai, Baima, and Paramount hotels were built nearby. Chinese and foreign bureaucrats and capitalists came here to escape the summer heat, with more than 1,000 bathers every day, making the bathhouse look abnormally prosperous. After the second Japanese occupation of Qingdao, pornographic music filled the bathhouse, hooligans and ruffians were rampant, and the air was smoky and unbearable. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the number of dressing rooms increased to more than 300. Fewer working people bathed. Later, many private individuals set up dressing rooms and started small boat rental businesses, and the dressing rooms became residents in winter. Later, the dressing rooms were hit by a typhoon and were badly damaged by the time of liberation. After the liberation of Qingdao, the people's government rebuilt and expanded the bathhouse many times, and the appearance of the bathhouse was renewed. The number of bathers increased year by year, and it became a paradise for the people. In 1953, two new diving platforms were built 20 meters from the shore, the number of changing rooms increased to more than 500, anti-shark nets were set up, rescue teams, medical stations and safety lookouts were built, and the Municipal Finance Bureau allocated 30,000 to 40,000 yuan for maintenance each year. In 1965, because the changing rooms were too old, the municipal government allocated funds for partial reconstruction, adding 3 changing rooms (5 rooms each), 2 flushing places, and rebuilding the bathing office building, including medical rooms, police stations, broadcasting rooms, conference rooms, lookouts and other facilities. In 1983, the municipal government decided to relocate 144 households in the bathing beach, demolish the changing rooms, and rebuild the sea bathing beach. The reconstruction of the first sea bathing beach was listed as one of the 10 major events of urban construction in 1984, and the key project command of the first sea bathing beach was established. From the start of construction on March 9, 1984 to the completion on June 26, it took only 108 days to build a beautiful and unique sea bathing beach. The newly built No. 1 Bathing Beach has 63 individual buildings of various shapes, covering a total area of 19,900 square meters. 400 square meters of the original building area have been repaired, and the total building area has reached 20,300 square meters, which is more than double the area of the original dressing room. Among them, there are 13 public buildings such as bathing office, observation tower, flushing place, toilet, etc., with a building area of more than 4,100 square meters. The beach area has been expanded from the original 11,800 square meters to 24,000 square meters. The newly built No. 1 Bathing Beach has become a unique scenic spot for the general public and Chinese and foreign tourists to swim, browse, rest and entertain.
I went to Qingdao in July 2015. Overall, I felt that the first bathing beach was not very clean. I remember that there were seaweeds on the beach. There were a lot of people and they were unfriendly. Taxis would not pick up people nearby. The prices for meals were different for local and other places. So this was my only trip to Qingdao and it was not a very good memory.
I personally feel that it is just an ordinary beach and not worth a special trip.
Very clean and beautiful, much cleaner than the Zhanqiao Baths
The location is good, the sand quality is just so-so.
Walking on the beach, I waved my arms unconsciously.
The first bath opened to the public early, and the facilities on the beach are relatively complete. Many people come to play in the summer, but the weather is too cold, so I can't go in the water~
There are several bathing beaches on the Qingdao coast, all of which are very popular. People come for a morning swim early in the morning.
I don't know if this refers to the beach in front of the station.
The style and transportation are OK, but there are too many people. Most of the people who come to Qingdao for tourism will choose the Pier and the No. 1 Bathing Beach, which leads to overcrowding during the peak tourist season. Washing seaweed is like cooking dumplings. It is recommended to go to the bathing beaches on the west coast of Qingdao, such as the City Balcony and Longwan Bathing Beach, where there are fewer people and the sea water is clean.
Starting from the pier, we passed the Naval Museum and the first bathing beach in the Underwater World, and it is opposite the Xiaoyushan Park and the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The beach is flat, the sand is very fine and there are almost no reefs, which is very suitable for swimming ~ but sun protection is a must!
The first beach is very open, the sand is very fine, and there are many people. You can buy swimsuits on the beach.
A city suitable for taking a break after a busy day
The beach at Yiyu is a little rough and there were a lot of people. We even did a parasailing at Yiyu.
Surrounded by mountains on three sides and lush green trees, the modern high-rise buildings are cleverly combined with traditional villas, creating a very beautiful scenery. The bay has clear water, small waves, flat beaches, gentle slopes, and fine sand, making it an excellent natural bathing beach.
Passing by this place, I was stunned by the scene, my jaw almost dropped to the ground, the No. 1 beach was so crowded
It's like dumplings being dumped in water, with crowds of people following the crowds. Even in the hot summer, there is no way to stop the crazy outflow of Chinese tourists from swimming in the water.
It used to be a free bathing beach, but I don't know what happened to it later. The sand is very fine, but there is a sea trench where drowning accidents occur every year. You can go to the Xiaoqingdao Lighthouse nearby.
The bathing area is free, but there is a charge for renting storage lockers for changing clothes. Facing the sea breeze, I really want to go swimming in the sea.
The beach really exceeded my expectations this time. The sea view is very beautiful. Thanks to the outer influence of Typhoon Soulik, the sea view under the blue sky is really pleasing to the eye, the beautiful Qingdao blue.
The place is too small, too close to the city core, and the water quality is just average.
It was once the largest bathing beach in Asia. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and lush green trees, modern high-rise buildings are cleverly combined with traditional villa buildings.
There are seaweeds everywhere, and the beach is also covered with them. Children just need sand, so they don't mind those at all.
There is a long beach here, and the water is gentle, which is indeed very gentle compared to the big waves at the second beach. It is quite cold to go into the sea in this season, but it is also very comfortable to step into the water.
Maybe it's not the time yet, the sea water is still very cold! I didn't dare to put my feet in the sea water, it was too cold, and I was shivering when the sea breeze blew. The old men in Qingdao were sunbathing, playing cards and chess together, and their bodies were all black.
The beach is very popular. I originally thought that it was all created by tourists. But when I stopped and looked carefully, I found that the people of Qingdao are the main force who really enjoy the blue sea and blue sky. The beach is like a community activity center. Men, women, young and old are embracing all the beauty given by the sea.
Although the bathing beach was not officially open for swimming when I went there, there were still many tourists playing on the beach.
I watched them making dumplings from a high place. I didn't go down because other people's travel notes said it was crowded and dirty.
When we arrived at the beach, there was no one there. My husband and I were at the beach, listening to the sound of the waves and having fun. We met a lot of police on the beach, because of the summit next month, there were also a lot of police on the road.
The sand is very fine. There were not many people on the weekend when I went there because the sea had not yet opened. There were few people going into the sea. Qingdao was still very cool at the end of May. I will come back to play next time.
The sand here is very fine. Sit down, drink some hot water, and rest your feet. Look at the groups of wedding dresses. It's very cold today, and taking pictures requires courage.
Yiyu is still very quiet at this time of year. Summer is his festival.
The sand here is really fine, it's worth going to the beach~
The No. 1 bathing beach is at the foot of Xiaoyu Mountain. I heard that it is very popular here in summer. There are actually quite a few people in winter, but there are more seagulls, all fighting for food. It’s like the “Mine! Mine! Mine!” voiceover in Finding Nemo๑乛◡乛๑
The beach here is not very clean. Due to the large number of tourists and the lax management, there is still garbage. We took a lot of photos while watching others swimming, haha
It was a beautiful first time I came here with my favorite person. It was a pity that I didn't stay in a sea view room and didn't see the sea at night. I just think that seeing the sea will make me feel better.
It's OK. The weather was not very good when I went there. When the weather is good, there should be a lot of people. The bathhouse is quite big.
We went there in October, and it was a bit cold to go into the sea, so we could only walk around the beach, but the scenery was pretty good!
I feel that the sand quality of the first beach is not very good, the sea water is not very clean, and the surrounding scenery is not as good as the second beach.
The bathing beach is not as crowded as it is during the peak tourist season, and without the crowds, you can see her own beauty. The first bathing beach has a beautiful coastline, and the wooden boardwalk along the coast is under repair, so you can only walk on the beach and stop to look at the sea.
The scenery is OK, close to Luxun Park. But there are too many people, like dumplings!
Qingdao No. 1 Bathing Beach is located on the bank of Huiquan Bay. It has a 580-meter-long and 40-meter-wide beach. It was once the largest bathing beach in Asia. The water in the bay is clear and the waves are small, the beach is flat and the slope is gentle, and the sand is fine and soft. As a bathing beach, the natural conditions are extremely superior. Interlude: There is a place to change clothes here. I saw many people (no less than 20) swimming in winter or preparing for winter swimming, and they were all wearing winter swimming clothes. So, I asked Xiaomo's father to take a photo for me, and he took a photo of the background of winter swimming.
Objectively speaking, this place is not as good as the second one. The second one is opposite Huashilou. There are too many people in the first one, and there is a lot of garbage. I don't want to go into the water after seeing it. It's so dirty.
First of all, let me talk about the most important point, which most people will ignore. For those who are seeing the sea for the first time, there are two points that must be paid attention to. The first is not to come during the peak season. Do you know what is a must? The second is to choose a good weather. If these two points are met, you will see the true beauty of the sea!
There are so many people!!! The sand is very fine!!
There are a lot of people in the bathing area, like dumplings. But it is very comfortable to walk along the seaside trail. The scenery will be different when you turn a corner. There are many, many, many newlyweds taking wedding photos during the Golden Week, which is also a beautiful scenery.
The sand is very fine and comfortable, not painful. It was not suitable for swimming in October, but July and August should be the best time.
You can see small crabs, small hermit crabs, small shrimps, small fish, and small shells on the reefs here. There is an old man on the beach who made a "longevity" character (he said shou) out of sand, which is amazing.
It's very popular, the sea water is OK, it feels good
The No. 1 bathing beach is located in Huiquan Bay. It is about 500 to 600 meters long and 40 to 50 meters wide. It is known as the largest natural bathing beach in Asia (I haven't verified it. I have been to Zhoushan, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, Fangchenggang, Beihai, Guangxi, and Xiamen, Fujian. The beaches there are indeed smaller than this one). It is close to Huiquan Square, with high-rise buildings and villa areas on both sides. It is particularly beautiful under the lights at night. The sand is good, with little mud, and it is very comfortable to step on. However, the sand grains are incomparable to the fine sand in Southeast Asia. In the evening, there are still many tourists bathing here. It is still very nice to walk along the beach.
It is not far from the pier, with fine sand and clear water, many people and it is quite lively.
You can get here from the Ocean World. It should be crowded in summer.
Qingdao No. 1 Bathing Beach is located on the bank of Huiquan Bay. It has a 580-meter-long and 40-meter-wide beach. It was once the largest bathing beach in Asia. Looking from the bridge, there are so many people. There are much more people than at the second beach. I suggest you don't join in the fun.
The largest bathing beach in downtown Qingdao, with a nice beach.
If you want to go to the beach in Qingdao, I highly recommend this place. Before coming to the first beach, I visited the second beach, and it really can't be compared. The sand in the first beach is relatively fine and comfortable to step on. The beach is also very clean. The most important thing is that the sea water is very clear. There are some waves flirting at night. The shallow sea area is very large. I walked a long way in and it was still only up to the chest muscles. It may be the height advantage (don't hit me). As for what many people said about changing clothes, I personally feel it is acceptable. I went there at night. The normal locker room and storage place were closed. Only one small shop was still open. I took a shower with my good friend + checked in, and the total cost was 60 (checking in a locker was 20). After all, it is the sea, and the salt content is so high. It is also very harmful to the skin if you don't take a shower and put on clothes after surfing. Moreover, no matter how clean the sea water is, it will not be clean enough to drink. (I suggest not going to the second beach if you can. I can only describe it in three words: small, expensive, and dirty)
The deeper you go, the finer the sand is, the more people there are, and the more entertainment facilities there are. You can pick up a lot of small shells and small silver fish, and you can go into the sea to play~
There are many water showers, the water is not very clean, the experience is not very good, there are many people, the sand surface is messy, and you can always find electricity in the sand.
I am a child of coastal cities, and I have a natural love for the sea, so I want to visit four coastal tourist cities: Qingdao, Dalian, Xiamen and Sanya.
I was a little disappointed when I came here. The sand on the beach is not dense enough, so it is very easy to be washed up by the sea. The sea water is muddy and yellow, but there are still so many people going into the water. I admire their courage. There are so many people, which gives a bad impression
There were really a lot of people. I went there on Tuesday and the water quality was OK.
I always feel that it is not as good as I imagined. There are a lot of seaweeds and the water quality is not very good. When there are too many people, it is like dumplings being cooked in a pot.
The first beach is free. There is a fenced area. There are lifeguards. It is relatively safe. Friends who want to swim should choose such a safe beach.
You must protect yourself from the sun at the beach. I used sunscreen, but it made me even darker.
Qingdao No. 1 Bathing Beach is located on the shore of Huiquan Bay. It has a 580-meter-long and 40-meter-wide sandy beach. It was once the largest bathing beach in Asia.
It has been so long that I can no longer remember the scenery at that time.
Not as big as expected, for a baby who lives by the sea
Don't believe the people who keep coming up to take you to the boat in the first beach. They all have a plan. First, the bus takes you to take the boat. Then the bus calls you to the Folk Museum, but it's actually for you to burn incense and spend money. Then it takes you to the Pearl Museum. You can take a quick tour on the way and talk to you casually. When you get to the Pearl Museum, you can buy pearls! Especially on the bus, they recommend you various tour discounts. Then the next day, I spent 180 yuan to go to Laoshan, but I went to the underground palace first, which is just an antique city, and I didn't ask you to pay until I was done. The worst thing is to take you to Hualou to take the cable car. The 80 yuan cable car has no scenery! Then I took you to the real Laoshan Yangkou Scenic Area, where there is a real cable car for only 60 yuan up and down. The scenery of Yangkou is really great! It was just noon when we arrived. If there was no mess in front of us to take you to buy things, we could have visited several scenic spots in Laoshan by ourselves, and maybe visited the Stone Man when we came back. Hey, my classmates and I hope everyone will be careful with our experience and lessons! This travel company is located in a very conspicuous position opposite the No. 1 Beach. If you spend money, they will smile at you, but if you don’t spend money, they will be very fierce to you, and they want to surround you with a group of people! Everyone should find a regular one on the app!
I didn't bring a swimsuit when I went there, so I didn't go swimming, but the beach was already crowded with people who came here to play. It was very nice and the air was fresh.
The service is terrible! The food in the restaurant is terrible and expensive! The locker room is a fucking rip-off! 30 yuan per person, no hot water! No slippers! No towels! Nothing, and they are so fucking confident! I suggest you come in July or August, the sea water is too cold now
The No. 1 Bathing Beach is a natural scenic spot within the area of Luxun Park, Xiaoqingdao and Zhanqiao.
Accompanied by clear sea water, set off by blue sky and white clouds, and adorned with century-old modern buildings, it looks particularly enchanting.
Actually, the beaches are similar, there is no big difference. I went to the first and second bathing beaches in Qingdao. The biggest difference is that the second one has more rocks than the first one? But I personally feel that the second one is more beautiful.
The first two pictures are of the first bathing area.
👂I heard that the water at the First Beach was quite dirty before, but maybe I came at the right season, and I think the water is really clean. I sat on the beach alone, with an umbrella and a hat, feeling the sea breeze and listening to the sound of the waves. The sea water in June was still quite cold. Occasionally, there were a few people swimming and sunbathing. The sand was very fine and soft, and it was shiny white in the sun.
☀In fact, it proves that the ultraviolet rays in coastal cities are really strong! ! I only exposed my ankles, and I found that I was darker when I returned to the hostel at night. Everyone must do a good job of sun protection, remember! While enjoying the beautiful scenery, you also have to pay a price.
