The entrance fee to Chenshan Botanical Garden is 60 yuan, which isn't exactly cheap, but after visiting, I felt it was well worth it. The several large indoor greenhouses are truly remarkable. There's a greenhouse filled with a variety of cacti, and a greenhouse housing exotic plants like pitcher plants, Venus flytraps, and mimosas. They've collected a wide variety of plants and flowers from around the world, categorized by type, allowing you to see them all.

At the same time, it happened to be the rose exhibition period, and roses of various colors and varieties were in full bloom, which was a breathtaking beauty.

There is also a peony garden in Chenshan Botanical Garden, and the various peony flowers are also extremely beautiful.

In the center of the park, there is a mine pit. You can climb to the top of the mountain or stand halfway up the mountain to enjoy the view. You can see a long waterfall rushing down from the top of the mountain and falling into the lake at the bottom of the pit, which is quite unique.

The Botanical Garden is so huge that we only visited half of it in half a day, but we still visited all the best parts. Because Chenshan Botanical Garden is so large, it doesn't seem crowded even with the large number of visitors during the long holiday.

It's a bit far from downtown Shanghai, so driving is the most convenient way to get there. Otherwise, you'll need to take Metro Line 9 and then transfer to a bus, which can be quite tiring. If you're planning a visit to Chenshan Botanical Garden, it's recommended to plan a full day, as it's quite large. Tickets are 60 yuan each, making it a great value for money. Every year, Chenshan Botanical Garden hosts an orchid exhibition, which is the park's most important festival and bustling time of the year. During the exhibition, orchid varieties from various countries and regions are displayed in the glass greenhouses throughout the garden. Orchid lovers shouldn't miss this annual exhibition. Besides admiring the orchids, Chenshan Botanical Garden also has a deep pit that can be visited, but it can be crowded, and there's often a queue to get down, so plan accordingly.

Since the trip will take a long time, it is a good idea to bring some food, drinks, tents, etc. and have an outing in the park.

By the way, Chenshan Botanical Garden also holds a music festival every year, which seems to be scheduled during the National Day. It is very lively and many singers will come to perform on stage.

It was almost noon when we went there, so we chose to enter through Gate 2. I don't know if it was because of the Spring Festival, but the food court was closed, so only three restaurants in the restaurant could provide lunch. You could also bring your own food and have a picnic on the lawn.

The orchids in the botanical garden are stunning, as are pitcher plants and other plants you've only seen in books. The desert plant greenhouse boasts giant cacti and saguaros, making it a great choice for plant lovers and family outings.

It was jointly built by the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the State Forestry Administration, and the Chinese Academy of Forestry. It is an AAAA-level comprehensive botanical garden integrating scientific research, popular science, and sightseeing.

The park has four functional areas, including the botanical garden sub-center exhibition area, plant conservation area, five continents plant area and outer buffer zone, covering an area of 2.07 million square meters. It is the largest botanical garden in East China and the second botanical garden in Shanghai.

The blooming season came early this year. I had originally planned to go see the hydrangeas in early June, but I unexpectedly discovered that they were already in bloom in late May at Chenshan Botanical Garden. This time, I was finally ahead of the curve. I no longer had to wait for others to see their beautiful photos, only to find some flowers that were about to wither when I arrived. I was so happy~

I could already feel the vitality of early summer. The brightly colored hydrangeas had thick petioles and large, slightly thick leaves that were obovate or broadly elliptical with coarse serrations along the edges. They were full, lush, and large, beautiful flowers. As I mentioned earlier, they are very different from the white wood hydrangeas.

The flowers in Chenshan Botanical Garden are mostly pink, and the hydrangeas have formed a sea of flowers. Each flower is in full bloom, and the flowers are clustered together like a bunch of open umbrellas. It can be said that "the flowers are so numerous that they are dazzling." People can't help but sigh at this colorful paradise on earth created by nature, which gives people a pleasing feeling.

It's a place worth visiting. The park is large and the environment is pleasant. There are many places for children to play. It's nice to set up a tent and rest for a while when you are tired. The plants are pretty good!

The queen of flowers, the rose, is beautiful. Well worth the effort, thumbs up!

By The more you love, the more you love |

The place is very big. There happened to be a primary school visiting on the day I went there. Gate 2 is three greenhouses. Gate 3 has a large flower sea, which is less crowded. Gate 1 has lotus and cherry blossoms (only in March and April). There is also a children's playground there.

By Your smile is good weather |

Oh my god, here it is again. Didn’t I upload it once today?

There seemed to be a flower show in Songgang when I went there.

By Gege V |

The area is quite large and there are many varieties of flowers, making it a perfect place for spring outings.

By Mr. Li and Xiao Ganjiang |

The cherry blossoms are in bloom. Entering from Gate 1 is Cherry Blossom Avenue. There aren't many tourists here, so you can find your own exclusive cherry blossom tree and pose for a good time.

By chencurl |

There are flowers in spring, moon in autumn, cool breeze in summer and snow in winter.

During the National Day holiday, the weather is clear and cool, and you can enjoy water lilies and sunflowers. It is better to come when the water lilies are in full bloom. It is also great when the cherry blossoms and crabapple blossoms bloom in spring.

By Sarah |

It is a relatively large botanical garden with a large area. According to the official explanation, it can accommodate 50,000 people. So on the National Day like yesterday, there were only 3,000 people, which felt quite small.

Maybe it was autumn, but aside from the three greenhouses, the only outdoor scenery was sunflowers, roses, water lilies by the entrance, and snake gourds hanging from the bridge. I couldn't find any plants that matched most of the scenic spots, so I just had to say it was the wrong season.

By China-TravelNote users |

I came here once in May but didn’t have enough fun, so this time I came to see the sunflowers and the children’s plant corner😃

By Dongdong |

Chenshan Botanical Garden is fantastic. The plant life is so diverse that you couldn't see it all in a day. Flower lovers will enjoy the tropical plants, xerophytes, aquatic plants, and even all sorts of new grasses. There's no need to worry about getting tired or hungry. There's a restaurant inside, and electric carts are available. I'd love to go back if I have the chance.

By Crab Lover |

It's a super beautiful place, a must-visit for landscape designers. In the summer, there are almost no people because of the sun, so it's suitable for spring and autumn. However, transportation is basically dependent on taxis. Highly recommended.

By If you want meat, bite your chin. |

Early summer is a bit awkward, as many of the flowers I wanted to see have already passed their blooming season. But I still held onto a glimmer of anticipation as I visited Chenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang District. Early July at Chenshan Botanical Garden feels like the perfect time for the transition from green to yellow. If you're looking for flower viewing, perhaps an earlier date, like August, when the lotus flowers are in full bloom, might be a better choice. However, Chenshan Botanical Garden remains incredibly beautiful, and I'm sure visitors will still be impressed by its landscaping and design.

By China-TravelNote user 91727455 |

It is very suitable for weekend trips. The park is large, with large lawns, quiet lakes, and unique design of the characteristic botanical garden. There are few people and it is suitable for walking and taking pictures. If you are tired, you can just choose a piece of lawn for a picnic.

By Yang Erwu. |

Parking is very convenient, 10 yuan per stop, which is very cheap in Shanghai. The ticket price is 60 yuan. You can buy tickets directly on site or in advance on a third-party platform. There is basically no discount. If you buy on a third-party platform, you need to enter the entrance and enter the verification code to exchange for the ticket. After scanning the code, you can enter the park. As soon as you enter, you will see a colorful sight. It happened to be the spring outing for elementary school students. There were children in school uniforms and backpacks everywhere. After entering the large park, I went crazy looking for the tropical botanical garden and saw the cute cacti. If you love flowers and plants, if you love things, and like to keep healthy, then come to Chenshan for a stroll~

By Mortal Inn |

Unfortunately, half a day was very limited, and while I gained a lot, I couldn't say I had a complete and satisfying experience. I'll have to come back again when the weather's nicer. To truly savor the experience, you'll have to do it on your own. The distance is convenient—take Metro Line 9 past Sheshan to Dongjing Station, then transfer to Songjiang Bus No. 19 for direct access to the entrance of Chenshan Botanical Garden. Chenshan Botanical Garden has several entrances and exits, and I'll definitely check out the others next time I visit. These days, the main attraction when visiting a park is the plum blossoms. And on my way to the Plum Garden, I spotted plum blossoms. Even if they were sporadic, I couldn't miss them.

By rmzgood |

Overall, it's pretty good, but the transportation is a bit inconvenient. You have to get to the subway, then take a bus. And then what? The Mine Garden is closed. Not great. It's still pretty good, but the transportation is the main issue.

By flayd |

There are three greenhouses with various tropical plants. When I went there, they were not yet decorated and the experience was not very enjoyable.

By in a hurry |

The entrance to Chenshan Botanical Garden was packed. Families were enjoying the weekend, and even tour buses were arriving. Guides, holding banners, were explaining precautions to tourists in the lobby, fearing they might get lost in the throng and miss their trip. Not far from the entrance was an avenue of cherry blossoms. Looking sideways, a streak of pink against a blue sky appeared. No green leaves, only blossoms, creating an indescribable purity. While not stout, the branches drooped gently, their blossoms laden with flowers, making them particularly alluring in the sunlight. The narrow avenue was packed with people, so you'd try to snap a photo before a swarm of people barged in. A young couple, after snapping a photo with their camera, then took a selfie with their phone, constantly changing angles and expressions. From a distance, I captured the couple's photo session with my camera. On one side, the rolling grass lay withered and yellow, but high above, camellias, each over a meter tall, were in full bloom, their vibrant crimson blossoms adorning the branches. Chenshan Botanical Garden was originally an abandoned quarry of the military. After transformation and construction, it has now become a very distinctive park in Shanghai.

I came to Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden to see the orchid exhibition. It was indeed a beautiful orchid exhibition. It was worth the trip.

I was in Songjiang, so I went to Chenshan Botanical Garden. It's quite large. I'd like to mention the food market near Gate 2, which offers Pizza Hut, Haoli Bibimbap, Ruyi Wontons, and more. The prices seem pretty similar to those outside, with no significant price increases. The small shop at Gate 1, the entrance and exit, is a bit pricey. I really want to mention Haoli's braised pork rice, which is delicious. I took a lot of photos of roses, peacocks, and four other animals. You can also hike a small hill. Overall, it was okay.

Chenshan Botanical Garden is Shanghai's largest botanical garden, boasting a variety of flowers to admire in every season. Take Metro Line 9 to Dongjing Station, where a shuttle bus will take you there. A full day at Chenshan Botanical Garden is ideal for a thorough exploration. The greenhouse area boasts numerous rare flowers that bloom year-round. You can also admire plants from other countries that are rarely seen.

The first plant I saw when I walked in was something I'd only seen in elementary school textbooks. It was like an orchid exhibition hall. It was incredibly beautiful. The flower bridge. Summary: It's within a 20-minute drive of Qingpu Outlets. Suitable for bringing the elderly.

The legendary Chenshan Botanical Garden boasts idyllic scenery. The service is also first-rate. On a beautiful April day, I visited the garden, enjoying the shade of the trees and relaxing on a mat on the lawn. The garden is quite large, with plenty of shaded lawns perfect for picnics. It's possible to spend a whole day there.

It's quite remote to go to the orchid exhibition. It's not easy to come here, but the rich variety of orchids and the beauty of the orchids are worth the 60 yuan ticket. It is recommended to enter the park before 12 o'clock because there will be cherry blossoms in full bloom, which is a pleasant surprise and makes people want to take pictures everywhere!

Whether it's the blooming spring, the sweltering summer, the desolate autumn, or the biting winter, it possesses a unique charm unique to each season. I went there in November, which was a bad timing. Many flowers there were not in bloom yet, but there were quite a lot of roses. It would have been nice to go there in March or April.

By bill14294156 |

Every year in late March and early April, a trip to the Chenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang District, Shanghai, to admire the blossoming flowers is a truly breathtaking spectacle. The cherry blossoms, chrysanthemum-petaled peaches, and alpine azaleas are especially noteworthy.

By Iron Man 17 |

The Chenshan Botanical Garden is really large, but the ticket price is not cheap. However, it is still worth it. I want to go there again. In addition to the greenhouse, which is open all year round, there are also different plants outdoors in each season, so you can go there to see them in different seasons. You can spend a whole day strolling around. You can go in when it opens in the morning and come out before it closes in the evening, just in time to finish your stroll. That is to say, you can eat inside at noon. There is a building with food, but it is not delicious and expensive. It is best to bring your own food and water. There are also many people having picnics there.

Chenshan Botanical Garden in winter is truly unique. The roses, with their charming forms and vibrant colors, are in full bloom and revel in their own unique beauty. Entering the rose garden, one feels as if they've stepped into the rose garden of a Turkish emperor or a Persian shah. Bright reds and yellows, vibrant and vibrant, pale purples and pale pinks recreate the exuberance and flamboyance of their prime. Yet, every branch and leaf holds a sentimental essence, each blossoming and withering a scene of its own. As you leisurely wander among them, your senses, what you see and smell, still ignite your imagination, capturing the allure of that time through the cracks between fallen leaves and vines. Or, simply standing beneath an archway covered in pink roses called "Little Girls," or beside a winding, latticework wall, a gentle call, a fleeting glance back, can evoke a simple, pure joy, allowing your heart to return to nature and its romantic nature, transforming from a spectator to a participant. When your perspective on the scenery changes, everything in front of you will become vivid, and even the garden will become colorful and beautiful with fallen petals.

For someone who enjoys tinkering with flowers and plants, the botanical garden is like an ivory tower. The overwhelming variety of plants, and the exhilarating experience of wandering among them, is like a hungry calf finding its dream paradise. This isn't my first time at Chenshan Botanical Garden, and each visit is rewarding. The gardens are especially rewarding, with electric carts available for transportation. During the National Day holiday, I took my parents to Chenshan Botanical Garden. Fortunately, it wasn't as crowded as I'd expected. I bought tickets on Taobao the day before for 55 yuan per person. The garden is quite large, and there are electric carts nearby if you can't walk. The garden boasts a variety of flowers and plants, a greenhouse, and fields of sunflowers and roses. There was also a music carnival going on that day, so I enjoyed the beautiful scenery while listening to music. It was a great choice for a family outing.

The main attraction is the greenhouse area. If you have enough time, you can go to the greenhouse counterclockwise first.

By -round ball- |

When we went, it was early spring, so many outdoor flowers and trees weren't in season yet. The tropical plants and flowers in the greenhouse were in full bloom. There should be a lot of beautiful flowers there around May or June. The botanical garden is large and requires good walking skills to walk through. The park also has small mobility scooters, which require a ticket. You can leave once during your visit with your ticket and stay in the park for free. There are not many places to eat in the park, and they are a bit expensive. The parking lot outside the scenic area is large and 10 yuan per day is a good deal. The restrooms inside the scenic area are also easy to find. There is also a mine garden that goes down to the ground. I forgot how many meters deep it is. There is water underneath. I am afraid of heights. I was so scared walking on the small bridge that I was shaking. My legs were shaking. If you are timid, it will be faster to drive there. If you take the bus or subway, there is a shuttle bus from the scenic area to take you there. It is worth a visit.

It’s the perfect time to go to Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden now. It’s my first time there and it’s worth the trip.

I took Metro Line 9 to Dongjing Station and exited at Exit 4. You can choose to take the bus or taxi (it's quite far, so you must take the bus).

Upon entering, you'll find a rose garden with a variety of roses, incredibly beautiful and perfect for flower lovers (those with allergies should definitely remember to wear masks). There were many photographers snapping photos. I went on a Thursday, so it wasn't particularly crowded; there were many students on a spring outing, which was a lot of fun. There were also a variety of peonies, truly worthy of their reputation as the king of flowers. There's also a fun peony maze, a feast for the eyes and a great way to explore. The place is quite large, so it's best to take one of the 10-yuan sightseeing buses. I happened to catch the Third Shanghai Orchid Exhibition, which was absolutely dazzling. Overall, it's a great place for photography enthusiasts!

Chenshan Botanical Garden is really big. It takes a whole day to play around. I happened to encounter an orchid exhibition and saw various rare orchids. My baby loved the desert plants. The mine garden is very good. The baby can climb the small hill. It was quite fun to play there for a day.

Chenshan Botanical Garden, located near Sheshan in Songjiang, is Shanghai's largest botanical garden! Tickets cost 60 yuan, though they're slightly cheaper online. The garden's three most distinctive areas are: 1. The Deep Pit; 2. The Botanical Greenhouse; and 3. The Aquatic Botanical Garden. For a leisurely day trip, it's recommended to purchase a 10 yuan ticket for the park's sightseeing bus, which allows hop-on and hop-off access at any of the park's nine main attractions. Combined with nearby Songjiang attractions like Happy Valley, Sheshan, and Thames Town, this can easily accommodate a 2-3 day itinerary.

By All is said without words |

Chenshan Botanical Garden is located in Songjiang, very close to Sheshan Forest Park. Covering 2.07 million square meters, it's the largest botanical garden in East China. Key attractions include the Mine Garden, the North American Botanical Area, the Aquatic Botanical Garden, the Tropical Exhibition Greenhouse, a small zoo, and the Ornamental Grass Garden. Due to winter, the outdoor areas were largely devoid of greenery, making the scenery look rather desolate. Fortunately, the Mine Garden and the Tropical Exhibition Greenhouse offer plenty of opportunities for exploration. The Mine Garden is comprised of a deep lake constructed from the remains of a former quarry. The Tropical Exhibition Greenhouse houses a variety of tropical plants transplanted across three large greenhouses, offering a unique opportunity to observe and learn about tropical plants from diverse regions. It's truly a truly remarkable experience. Unfortunately, some uncivilized visitors scribbled and scratched on the giant leaves and trunks of the plants, which was a truly unpleasant experience and detracted from the experience. I look forward to visiting the outdoor flora in spring or autumn. Admission to the botanical garden is 60 yuan. Transportation is not very convenient, so it's recommended to drive. There are ample parking lots at each entrance. Unfortunately, the management was a bit chaotic and it took me a long time to find the exit.

By ettababy |

Because it's the wrong season, the best things to see are all in the greenhouse. Adult ticket price is 60, 50 for those over 60, and 30 for those over 70.

This should be the largest botanical garden in Shanghai. It has a rich variety of species, and there are mountains, water, bridges and lakes. The scenery is endless all year round. As long as the weather is suitable, you will definitely gain a lot from a visit. It is recommended to walk in spring and autumn, and it is better to take a scenic bus in the park in summer and winter. It is suitable for a family trip!

Transportation is also very convenient. If you are a family, it is best to travel by car. You can check the map for this. You can also take Metro Line 9, get off at Songjiang Sheshan Station, and take a taxi. The starting fee is one!
