Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park

Near Dishui Lake in Shanghai, it is close to the sea, but there is no beautiful sea view

Accommodation: Shanghai Dishui Lake Holiday Hotel 5 stars, Home Inn, B&B.

Catering: The park is not yet fully developed, so there are not many restaurants. The largest one is Burger King.

Cost: About 400 yuan per person, excluding accommodation. (Ocean Park ticket plus water and food)

Ocean Park comparison: Hong Kong Ocean Park is relatively well-built, well-planned, and relatively mature in operation. However, Haichang is larger in area, and its planning and overall taste need to be enhanced. The consumption is lower than that in Hong Kong. If the entire park is built later, it will still be very good.

Service: I personally really like the service. The staff at Ocean Park are very enthusiastic and welcoming. A hundred times better than at some restaurants! A hundred times better!

Percentage of tourists: Families with children and groups of children traveling together are of course the largest group, but there are fewer internet celebrities checking in and taking photos.

There is a cable car, but I didn't go because I was too tired. The overall planned route is not very unified. The performances in the park are worth watching! There are many kinds of animals. My personal favorites are the little penguins, seals, white dolphins, and coral reefs.

The coral reefs are quite unique, although there are not many of them. The little penguins at the Hong Kong Ocean Museum are the most lively and spiritual.

Disadvantages: 1. The route planning may not be complete because it is not fully built. 2. It is not fully built yet and there is still construction. 3. Some animal body odors are unavoidable.

Thank you China-TravelNote for choosing me as the travel experience officer for Haichang Ocean Park. It was very special to choose my birthday to experience celebrating my birthday with the marine animals.

【Tickets】

If you've purchased tickets in advance, you can enter the park by simply swiping your ID card. There's no need to exchange for paper tickets, which is quick and convenient. However, be aware that whether you buy tickets online or on-site, you can't use them until two hours after the order is issued, so be sure to buy your tickets in advance.

【Highlights】

☑️There are various performances in the park, such as dolphin shows, killer whale shows, float parades, etc. When you enter the park, you can get a park guide and performance schedule to find out the performance time of the day.

☑️ There is a free cable car throughout the area, which allows visitors to reach more distant areas. It is also a great experience to overlook the entire area from the cable car. It is definitely not to be missed.

【Play experience】

The park is huge, divided into five themed areas. If you want to explore every area and see every show, you should definitely go early in the morning. Shows are usually split into morning and afternoon sessions, and some are close together, so it's better to stagger your time between them. I entered the park at noon, took photos while strolling around, and saw two of the four afternoon shows. I even happened to see a street dance flash mob that wasn't included in the program.

I went on the first weekend after the New Year's Day holiday, and it was rainy. However, the rain stopped once I arrived at the park. There were very few tourists, no lines, and easy access to photos. I was pretty lucky. The staff said New Year's Day is very crowded, so I recommend avoiding holidays.

☑️Like other domestic parks, the prices of food and beverages in the park are generally double the normal prices.

【transportation】

We drove there ourselves, and the parking fee was a reasonable 50 yuan. Other transportation options are detailed on the park's official account.

The second-to-last stop on Subway Line 16, you have to transfer to a bus after getting off. A day at the aquarium flew by: clumsy penguins, seals engaged in one-on-one duels, adorable beluga whales, pig-faced sea lions, lazy polar bears, colorful jellyfish, sharks that refused to eat even when food was right in front of them, and so many other adorable underwater creatures. I felt like I could watch them for ages... I had agreed not to see the killer whale show, but I broke my promise. The moment I saw the killer whales leap, I literally cried. I felt sorry for these intelligent creatures, being captured and tamed, but it also gave children and those who haven't had the chance to see dolphins and whales a chance, and it helped raise awareness of the need to protect these adorable marine creatures. Aside from the distance, I loved this place.

In general, whether it is the facilities or the service, the park is very good. After entering the park, every staff member who sees you will greet you, even the young men and women who pass by (most of the staff are young men). When you ask questions, they are always very patient and answer in detail. It can be said that the staff adds a lot to the park.

Transportation: Take Line 16 to Lingang Avenue, then take bus No. 1135 to Haichang Park.

Tickets: Online tickets can be purchased by swiping your ID card. If you come frequently, you can apply for an annual pass, which is currently on sale for 1,180 yuan.

Recreation: The roller coasters that we wanted to ride on rainy days were not open, only the carousel, rotating airship, etc. The float parade and the performances on the ground and in the open-air theater were still as usual.

The highlight is watching animals:

Penguin House: There are not many species, only two or three kinds of penguins, but the design of the venue is very good. The upper and lower floors are connected, and the penguins can swim up and down. Different species are isolated, and the experience is very good. On the first floor, you can see penguins swimming on the ceiling. This design is integrated into the design of many venues in the entire Ocean Park.

Next to the penguin house is the dome theater. The show lasts about 20 minutes and is best viewed from the floor. There's a large ball decoration in the center of the dome, which can be a bit distracting. The film tells the story of the birth of the universe and ocean adventures. Shows are every half hour and highly recommended.

Sea Animal Exploration Hall: On the right side of the main entrance, there are seals, manatees, sea lions, otters and other creatures. The otters are very cute, and you can see the keepers feeding and interacting with them on a daily basis, which is very interesting.

Iceberg Polar Pavilion: Polar bears, wolves, foxes, seals, and more are all present and plentiful, and the guides are quite interesting, allowing for plenty of questions. A second key feature of the entire pavilion design is that you can see both above and below the water surface, and the clarity is incredibly clear, a testament to the staff's dedication. The Space-Time Cable Car takes you directly to the Volcano Whale Shark Pavilion at the innermost part of the park, offering panoramic views of the entire park. It's highly recommended.

Volcano Whale Shark Hall: The hall with the most floor-to-ceiling windows, many sharks, and the most iconic type of windows in an aquarium. I remember there were three of them. The largest one was used for bubble magic performances, interactions between divers and fish, and underwater performances by mermaids. You must see it.

Outside the Volcano Whale Shark Hall is the only external restaurant in the park, Burger King. The price is a bit expensive but acceptable.

Undersea World: This is a hall dedicated to corals and underwater fish, including many rare shrimp. It's recommended to bring a DSLR camera for photography. There's also a short but beautiful underwater tunnel, perfect for photoshoots. The adjacent Deep Sea Voyage is an immersive 4D interactive cable car ride, which is quite cool. I wanted to ride it again, but it was packed, so get there early to queue.

Coral and Jellyfish Museum: This museum fulfilled my childhood dream. There are so many jellyfish and it is great to take pictures with a SLR. There are also creatures such as clownfish that live in the coral reefs.

I recommend coming on a sunny day so the rides are open and the park is beautiful. I hope the rest of the park is finished soon. It's a great location.

The Killer Whale Theater has two shows every day, you must see it!!!

I won the China-TravelNote Experience Officer promotion, so happy! It wasn't a weekday and the weather was quite cold, so the park wasn't particularly crowded. I went there in the afternoon... A bit late, so I took Line 16 and bus 1153. It's across the street from the last stop!

1: Park Environment and Facilities: Very clean! Even in the off-season, every venue has a staff of staff cleaning. Trash cans are also promptly emptied. The benches and windows are clean. The facilities are also very clean. And, most commendably, every venue has a restroom! Unlike some large amusement parks, restrooms can be difficult to find. The signs are also clear, so even with a large crowd, there should be no problem. <(* ̄▽ ̄*)/

2. Service: There are staff members at each venue. After entering, they will come to you and explain marine life knowledge. It feels very interesting. In addition, the staff will also greet you nicely when walking around the park!

Because I arrived late, I didn't see any shows, but I did visit a lot of marine life exhibits. I recommend the Sea Animal Discovery Hall... I never thought seals were so adorable. When you go, be sure to check out the underwater view; it's so much fun being underwater. I also recommend the Coral and Jellyfish Hall; it has so many species and is incredibly dreamy, you'll be able to take pictures that look like postcards in no time. I regret not having enough time to visit the Antarctic Penguin Hall or the Skydome Cinema. Even if you don't catch the shows as scheduled, I think seeing all the marine life is still incredibly fun!

Visiting order: After entering, you can go to the "Sea Animal Exploration Hall" → After that, go to the "4D Cinema" or watch various performances → Then cross the bridge → "Coral Jellyfish Hall", "Dolphin Theater" and many children's amusement facilities are on the opposite side of the bridge → After the tour, take the cable car back to the amusement park

Of course, there are still many facilities that are not open yet, and there are many places I have not visited.

In short, it's a place suitable for people of all ages to play! I plan to take my kids there again in the summer. I just hope it's not too crowded (ah haha <(* ̄▽ ̄*)/),

📍Park Address: Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park - No. 166 Yinfei Road

🚌Public transportation: Take Metro Line 16, get off at Lingang Avenue Station, exit at Exit 3, and transfer to Bus 1135. Get off at the last stop, and the main entrance of the park is across the road.

Self-driving tour: S32 Shenjiahu Expressway (towards Pudong Airport) to Lianggang Avenue - Lingang Avenue - Shanghai Ring Road - Yinfei Road - Industrial Park

🎈Must-see performances: Killer Whale Story/Killer Whale Science Show, Dolphin Encounter, and Dream Mermaid (it is recommended to arrive half an hour in advance to reserve a seat)

🎈There is the largest souvenir shop in the park at the exit (with the most complete selection). You can buy some when you leave the park, saving time for activities and performances.

✖️Maybe it's because the weather is too cold, some attractions are not open, and some are under maintenance. I will go to Ocean Park for a second or third time when the weather warms up (there may be water attractions in the summer, and I saw an enclosed tube slide under construction)

By Love blue bear |

I was lucky enough to win a free experience, so I took the kids to experience it during New Year's Day. There were fewer people than expected, and there weren't many people on holidays, so I could have fun without queuing all the time. The park parking lot is 50 yuan per time, and it's very close to the entrance. I entered the park on time at 9 o'clock and started playing counterclockwise, visiting the Coral Jellyfish Hall, the Children's Fun Park (the focus is on the dolphin roller coaster), the Underwater World Hall (the focus is on the ocean secrets, and the rafting has not started yet), the Volcano Whale Shark Hall (mermaid show), the Dolphin Home, the Dolphin Theater (dolphin show), the Time and Space Cable Car, the Killer Whale Theater Show, the Iceberg Arctic Hall (beluga show), the 4D Cinema, the Snowpiercer (not open on New Year's Day), the Antarctic Penguin Hall, the Skydome Cinema, the Sea Beast Exploration Hall, and I could go home at 16 o'clock and play everything I could.

By Most-Beginning |

I participated in the lucky draw at China-TravelNote and unexpectedly won the prize. So I bought a few more tickets and went on a family trip together.

Parking is convenient. The multi-story parking lot is connected to the ticket office via an overpass and costs 50 yuan for a full day. Tickets can be purchased online, and entry is a two-second process with just a tap of your ID card, with virtually no lines. Staff are available at each venue and along the way to greet and direct guests. With maps and performance schedules available at the entrance, it's easy to plan your visit and avoid unnecessary travel.

The park is neat and tidy, with novel decorations and full of childlike fun. The distance between the venues is moderate, so it is not tiring for the elderly and children to walk around without feeling tired.

Although there aren't many species of marine life, they can all be seen clearly. The dolphin show and the killer whale show both have interesting interactions with the audience, which is very enjoyable to watch and leaves you wanting more.

Food and shopping in the park are a bit pricey. The set menu at the Sand Tower Restaurant is delicious, and the fruit is fresh and high-quality. At 60 or 70 yuan per person, it's still acceptable. The Penguin Restaurant is more suitable for children, as you can eat while watching the penguins. One mother even placed her plate in the window to feed her child.

Overall it was a very pleasant trip and the ticket price was worth it.

By Ahhh Alan |

I won the China-TravelNote Experience Officer event and made a reservation early for the 30th. The park is very similar to Disneyland, with higher ticket prices than other amusement parks, annual passes for sale, and daily tours and performances. The park staff are friendly and enthusiastic.

Overall, it was better than expected! It's perfect for kids. Since the park just opened, the facilities are all new and the animals are super cute. It was a truly adorable day!

PS.

Mr. Seal, aren’t you afraid of becoming a flat-nosed monster if you close your eyes and stick to the glass every day?

Miss Arctic Fox, have you ever considered other people's feelings when you sit on them?

PPS.

Regarding the parking issue, 50 yuan per time is acceptable after all, there are several hours from morning to night!

I was lucky enough to win tickets to Haichang Ocean Park through China-TravelNote. I chose a less busy weekday and went with my kids. Located in Lingang Nanhui New Town, it's a bit far, but both adults and children were thrilled. There's a large parking lot right next to the park. Parking is 50 yuan per trip, which is quite affordable, but it's very convenient. You need to scan your ID card to enter the park.

Free brochures and a schedule of performances are available at the park entrance. In addition to the famous killer whale show, there's also a dolphin adventure, the Ocean Fantasy Parade, the Mermaid Fairytale, and the Water Man. Each show is scheduled at a convenient time, ensuring everyone can catch a performance while enjoying the park.

The park is divided into several areas, including Mermaid Bay, Polar Town, Undersea Wonderland, Ocean Tribe, Ice and Snow Kingdom, and a theme resort hotel. The overall layout is very reasonable and you won’t get lost by looking at the map.

Our favorite part was the adorable, plump penguins in the Antarctic Penguin Pavilion. The pavilion's design is particularly unique; from the first floor, you can see the penguins swimming around through a giant glass tank. They were so adorable! The Jellyfish Pavilion also captivated us. Different species of jellyfish were displayed in large glass tanks. Lights shone from the bottom of the water, creating a vibrant display of colors. The originally small, transparent jellyfish became a beautiful work of art, a truly captivating experience.

The entire playtime lasted from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and I still felt like I hadn't had enough. The park also has a children's playground and a time-space cable car, which older children could enjoy to their heart's content. There are several restaurants within the park, but the value for money could be improved. Burger King is the most popular restaurant, with a set meal for two costing around 117 yuan. It would be even better if there were more convenience stores like FamilyMart or Lawson.

Finally, I must mention that the park staff's service awareness and attitude were excellent! I hope they can keep up the good work! Overall, it was a very good experience!

By A little confused |

Because it had just opened and the weather was cold, it seemed that Ocean Park wasn't crowded. We entered the park a little after 10:00 AM and had basically explored all the attractions by 5:30 PM.

Haichang Ocean Park has a total of 6 large theme venues. My favorite is the Coral Jellyfish Pavilion. I have no resistance to jellyfish at all. It is said that the more beautiful things are, the more dangerous they are. This is true for jellyfish. The more beautiful the jellyfish, the more poisonous they are.

There is an underwater corridor in the Underwater World Museum next to the Jellyfish Museum that is especially suitable for taking photos. It is recommended to come in the morning. When we went there in the afternoon, it was full of tourists and we couldn’t take good photos.

As Christmas approaches, the park is filled with a strong Christmas atmosphere, and there will be performances by foreigners on the stage outside the Sea Beast Discovery Hall.

During the trial operation phase, some rides were under maintenance. Although there were some minor regrets, experiencing the Dolphin Roller Coaster made up for some of the regrets. Personally, I think the Dolphin Roller Coaster is much more thrilling than Disney's TRON Lightcycle Power Run!

Almost every venue has theater performances, but there is no specific information about the performance times in the admission brochure. I only found out after asking the staff, which was not a very good experience.

The scale of the float parade is not as grand as that of Disney, but you can feel the strong atmosphere of joy and the performers are very enthusiastic.

The most recommended one is the sky-screen movie Sea of Time and Space in the Penguin House. The screen is right above your head, and the viewing angle is great whether you sit on the ground casually. I strongly recommend that you don’t miss it.

PS: Killer whales are so cute! I hope we can release them back into the ocean one day!

By Slow lorises love to drink watermelon juice |

I drove to Haichang Park, but the parking was full when I arrived. I had to park a little further away. The parking fee at their own parking lot was a bit expensive, 50 yuan per time.

Once you enter the park, remember to pick up a map and the show schedule. Knowing show times in advance will help you plan accordingly. Similar to Disneyland, you'll need to go through security first and then scan your ticket to enter.

I went in a counterclockwise direction. It was a shame the Snowpiercer was closed for maintenance that day. Seeing the staff test ride it was quite exciting.

The theater can accommodate over 200 people at a time, so almost everyone can get in after queuing up once. I was lucky enough to get in almost immediately after I walked in, and the show started right away. There was no waiting around.

Recently during Christmas, there was a Christmas atmosphere everywhere with decorations and performances by foreigners.

The prices in the restaurant are not too outrageous, a set meal costs more than 50 or 60 yuan. There are set meal styles at the entrance of the restaurant, and you can take a look at whether you like it and then decide whether to go in.

The children's playground area is of course the most crowded, and the children are having a lot of fun. Children who are too young need to be accompanied by their parents.

There are Chinese signs next to the marine life, and the entertaining and educational approach is very attractive to children.

The most popular place is the penguin house. When I arrived, I happened to catch the feeding show. The little penguins were so cute that everyone couldn't help but take out their cameras and phones to record it.

I was so happy to be lucky enough to win a free trip to Haichang Ocean Park through China-TravelNote. I even bought another ticket the day before to take my mom along. Overall, it was a great experience! Even on the weekend, the park wasn't crowded, and the experience was very pleasant!

I took the subway there in the morning. When I arrived at Lingang Avenue Station, there was only a sign at the subway exit gate telling me to go to Exit 3 to transfer to Bus 1135. There was no sign that I could transfer to the free park shuttle bus from Exit 1, which was very inconvenient. There was also no sign saying there was a shuttle bus in the parking lot after exiting Exit 1. We only realized we were on the right track when we saw the shuttle bus driver open the door and tell us at the parking lot entrance. Actually, right after exiting Exit 1, you can see a Lawson convenience store. From there, you can walk to the parking lot where there is a bus parked. You can get on the bus, which runs every ten minutes or so and takes only eight minutes! I think it's more convenient than the bus and you won't miss your stop! The shuttle bus stops in the parking lot next to it in the morning, and you can see the park entrance when you get off. It's only a few minutes away. After 12:00, the shuttle bus will stop at the park entrance. In other words, if you take the subway back, just go to the entrance or the annual pass center and see if there is a bus, and it will go directly to Lingang Avenue Station!

Regarding the park, I think the most worthwhile shows are the mermaid show and the killer whale show. There are more shows on weekends than on weekdays! I also recommend riding a roller coaster for those who can ride it. It is much more fun and exciting than Disney's Lightcycle. There are only 16 people on a ride at a time. The further back you sit, the scarier it is. The staff said that the last row will feel more exciting.

There are quite a lot of food in the park, but the most popular one is Burger King. I guess it’s because the price is not particularly expensive and you can still eat your fill. Hahaha. A set meal is basically around 53-56.

Although the float parade is not as long as Disney, the atmosphere is still good and it is quite fun.

By babysky1208 |

There is a shuttle bus running every 10 minutes at the subway station. There is also a parking lot at the subway station and at the entrance of the aquarium. The park as a whole is not very big. There were not many people today. There was no queue or long wait for the 4D movie and the killer whale show. Some shots in the 4D movie at the Polar Museum might be a little scary for little kids. The animals are all very cute, but there is no real ice in the rooms for the Arctic foxes, polar bears, and penguins. The Arctic foxes in particular have very little room to move around and can only pace back and forth. The three beluga whales also have very little room to move around and have to turn when they swim. I feel a little sad and distressed. The dolphin and sea lion shows were not open today. The killer whale show was wonderful. Although the killer whale is large, it does not affect its cuteness. The souvenirs in the gift shop are also very cute, but I can't complain about the architectural shapes and colors in the park and the shapes of the parade floats. The staff in the park are all very enthusiastic

By Louise |

Unfortunately, I chose a rainy day to visit Haichang. Many outdoor performances were not available, and the outdoor amusement projects were not available. However, the cute marine animals in the museum and the enthusiasm of the service staff made me think it was worth visiting here.

My favorite is the beluga whale, it’s so cute, it’s like a little kid playing with a toy ball.

The jellyfish museum is very beautiful. We saw many different kinds of jellyfish, some of which looked like flowers and some were fat and cute.

I watched the mermaid show, it was very beautiful and the actors worked very hard. However, there were too many people standing in front of the screen during the show, which affected the viewing experience of those behind.

I also watched the dolphin show, which was wonderful. The clown's performance at the beginning was very funny, but I personally don't like animal shows, so I won't post pictures.

As Christmas approaches, the entire park is filled with a strong festive atmosphere. From the fish tanks to the store performances, there are Christmas decorations, which is very thoughtful.

There's almost no need to queue for cable cars, there are plenty of trash cans and restrooms on the road, and the designated smoking areas are clearly marked. If you run into staff on the street, they'll greet you warmly. Overall, it feels better than Disneyland.

I've always had my eye on the recently opened Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, and this time I chose a weekday to explore polar marine life! It took just over an hour to drive there from home. The parking lot is right next to the park, making it very convenient for entry. Parking is 50 yuan per visit. After passing security, I swiped my ID card for entry, which was very convenient. Since it was my first time there, I didn't have much experience, so I picked up the "Park Guide" on the left side of the entrance for reference. It had an introduction and a map, which was quite useful.

The Antarctic Penguin Pavilion, with its large, azure "Penguin Super Bowl," is truly stunning, and the penguins are incredibly adorable. The Space-Time Cable Car offers breathtaking views of the park, offering panoramic views of the entire park. The baby dolphins in the Dolphin Theater are truly adorable, and the water curtain is beautiful. The Volcano Whale Shark Pavilion is a must-see, boasting a wide variety of sharks and home to a mermaid show—a must-see! The underwater tunnel in the Undersea World Pavilion is breathtaking. Deep Sea Voyage was my favorite attraction, and the Iceberg Arctic Pavilion is also a must-see. The polar bears, beluga whales, and harbor seals are all incredibly adorable!

Each of the five themed areas within the park has its own themed shop. The plush marine animal toys are all so adorable they'll make you want to take them home, and there's also a variety of exquisite ornaments and objects, so there's sure to be one that suits you. The park also has a wide variety of delicious food, and while it's not cheap, the portions are definitely generous and the taste is great!

I haven’t had the chance to see the Ocean Treasure House, Killer Whale Theater, Sea Lion Theater, Sky Dome Cinema, etc. The staff in the entire park are very proactive and enthusiastic. I also want to consider staying in the so-called "first cruise concept ocean resort hotel in China" for a night. So these are the reasons for me to come for a second time!

I booked a trip to Shanghai Haichang Ocean Kingdom on December 18th of this year. I won a free trial voucher on China-TravelNote. The park has a lot to offer, including numerous performances, restrooms, and smoking areas. There are also numerous restaurants. Dining options range from hamburger combos for around 40 yuan to boxed lunch and noodle soup combos for around 68 yuan. There's also a premium seafood combo for individuals for 368 yuan. The park is rich in content, and two days is best. Overall, the service quality is excellent. It's a great place for parents to bring their children. (◔◡◔)

Subway: Take Line 16, Lingang Avenue, Exit 3. Walk to the left and you will see a sign for the Haichang Ocean Park boarding point for bus No. 1135 (direct bus shuttle).

Self-driving: No. 166 Yinfei Road, Nanhui New Town, Pudong New Area (current parking fee is 50 yuan/time/day).

After entering the park, take a map from the magazine rack on the left. Because we went on weekdays, the amusement information for the day was provided by the staff holding A4 paper ~ (Among them, the water flying project is suspended every Monday). The whole park is not big, so just control it according to the time of the theater performances~ Regarding the theater performances, my personal favorite is: Mermaid 🧜 Fairy Tale (the foreign sister has a beautiful face and a figure, and her underwater dance is graceful. With the music, the overall scene is very beautiful), followed by Killer Whale Story (the killer whale baby is very cute), Ocean Dream Float Parade (Speaking of the float parade, because there are few people on weekdays, as long as we say hello and take pictures, we can get their various high-five responses, various heart-shaped 😂 and flying kisses, which are really very present), um~ In addition to the good early interactions and stage lighting and water curtain effects of Dolphin Encounter, the real dolphin show is surprisingly short [囧], which is a bit tasteless~

The animals on display in the various exhibition halls are all pretty good, and the figurines in the souvenir shops are also very cute. The staff are very enthusiastic, and you’ll be greeted unexpectedly when walking on the street. 😂 By the way, you can rent power banks in the penguin shop. Don’t worry about your phone running out of power.

Let's talk about the missing parts in the recent stage: some park amusement equipment are not open (Snowpiercer, volcano rafting, large roller coaster, etc.), and many restaurants and snack bars are also closed. Fortunately, there is a Burger King~ The greening and construction of the entire park also need to be continuously improved. Well, I hope it will get better and better next year and be worth the price 😂.

Finally, I would like to thank the China-TravelNote platform. I was lucky enough to be selected for a free trial. I asked my bestie to accompany me. The ticket price on weekdays is 260 yuan. Compared with Dianping and Taobao, China-TravelNote's price is more favorable.

I wasn't particularly impressed with this family park at first, but I chose it because I was lucky enough to be there. It's not close to home, and parking is a bit expensive, but honestly, it still has quite a few surprises. Since I was traveling with my baby, I didn't visit every exhibit, but a few that stood out were the seal and beluga whale exhibits in the iceberg hall. The seals loved interacting with visitors, and the exhibits were very uniquely designed. Furthermore, our baby is less than one meter tall, but the park has a toddler play area suitable for even small children (those over 90cm tall can ride). My baby especially loved the penguin roller coaster; it's a bit thrilling but not dangerous, and on weekdays, the lines are usually less than ten minutes. The park also has a strong festive atmosphere. As it was Christmas, there were various performances and parades in the outdoor plaza, and the performers were particularly enthusiastic, especially from foreign countries. Overall, the park is small but convenient to explore, with plenty of restrooms and restaurants, no lines, and the staff are friendly. Regrets and disappointments: The whale shark show at the Volcano Pavilion wasn't there, so there was only a mermaid show. As for the killer whale show, I felt it was not much different from the dolphin show. For both films, I felt the skylight was slightly better, but not as good as I had expected. Finally, I'm grateful to China-TravelNote for the opportunity to experience this newly opened park. I hope Haichang, which is still under construction, will improve in the future.

I visited Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park during its soft opening. I entered shortly after opening at 9:40 AM and stayed until 3:00 PM. Since I went on a weekday, not a holiday, I had a pretty good time. The park is quite large, with the penguin house, jellyfish house, sea lion and seal house, Arctic animal house, tropical marine animal house, dolphin house, and other independent venues all separated into separate halls. This made each hall feel very comfortable to visit, with ample space for photos. You can even rent out an entire aquarium for photos.

From the moment we entered Ocean Park, we were transported to a packed itinerary packed with performances. Between shows, we visited the animal exhibits, which was well worth the price of admission! We started at the Seal and Sea Lion Pavilion, followed by the 10:00 Town Carnival and the Polar World Pavilion. We took the park's cable car up to the Tropical Ocean Pavilion, where we arrived at the station. We caught two mermaid stage shows at 10:45 and 11:00, followed immediately by a dolphin show at the adjacent Dolphin Theater at 11:30. After the shows, we had lunch, then headed to the Ocean Treasure Pavilion to queue for the 4D Ocean Cruise, then to the Shell and Jellyfish Pavilions. While waiting for the 1:30 pm parade, we went to the amusement park for two small rides. After the parade, we immediately went to the Qiulian River Water Flying Man Show at 2:00 pm, followed by the killer whale show at 2:30 pm. We also had a five-minute break to see the penguins. It was a truly enjoyable experience, with absolutely no waiting time.

1. Haichang Ocean World's daily performances are absolutely not to be missed. Each one is worth experiencing and will bring you full of expectations and surprises! When watching the performances, you will be completely absorbed by the staff and the little animals and forget to take pictures;

2. In addition to watching the performances, you can go to the animal venue to broaden your horizons. There are actually Arctic foxes, Arctic wolves and polar bears here, which are relatively rare in Shanghai Ocean World; the penguin species are a bit monotonous and the number is a bit small.

I feel that there are areas for improvement: 1. Perhaps because it is still in the trial operation stage, a large roller coaster amusement project has not been debugged in place, and there is also a jungle rafting project that has not yet opened. The Snow Country Train is under maintenance, so I feel a little regretful.

2. Perhaps because it was the soft opening period, the lighting in the venues had not yet been adjusted. In every venue I entered, the lighting in the passages leading to the main viewing rooms was too dim. Even a normal adult like me couldn't see the ground clearly, let alone some elderly people. Especially in the passages leading to the cable car in the Polar Pavilion, the blind passages leading to the Beluga Whale Area in the Polar Pavilion, and the blind passages in the large glass box of the tropical aquarium where the mermaid show was performed, it felt difficult to see the way.

I was lucky enough to win a free China-TravelNote tour of Haichang Ocean Park. We went on a Monday, when the Aquatics show isn't running (and there are more shows on weekends). The park wasn't crowded, so there were almost no lines for anything, and I usually had the best seats for the shows. The shows at the various venues flowed smoothly, almost one after another. The sound and visuals in the sky-dome theater were fantastic, and it was quite impressive. The performances at the dolphinarium, killer whales, and mermaids were particularly unique. The mermaids performed incredibly graceful underwater maneuvers and waved to the guests. We also visited the large animal exhibits—the Antarctic Penguin Pavilion, the Sea Animal Discovery Pavilion, the Underwater World, the Iceberg Arctic Pavilion, the Volcano Whale Shark Pavilion, and the Coral Jellyfish Pavilion. We took the cable car for a breathtaking panoramic view of the park! The staff at all levels were friendly, patient, and helpful, providing helpful advice. It was a truly wonderful experience.

I went on a weekday and was grateful to China-TravelNote for the opportunity. The crowds weren't too great, so the lines for everything were short. The service was excellent, which was a bit surprising. The park isn't very large, but I hope it expands in the future. Perhaps because it was a weekday, many of the park's facilities were closed, which was a bit disappointing. The food and souvenirs were quite varied, and the value for money was decent.

By bobzhouwei |

I won a free trial ticket and went with my son, purchasing a children's ticket. It was a Monday, so the park wasn't crowded, with fewer than 1,000 people entering. There were almost no lines for any of the attractions, and I had the best seats for most of the shows. There are indeed many marine animals, and the layout and performances are quite impressive, making it worth a visit. A few downsides: the signage to the various venues isn't clear, making it easy to get lost. The lack of a show schedule makes it difficult to plan your time. The approximate schedule is: 10:00 AM Square Welcome Show; 10:30 AM 4D Movie; 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM Dolphin Show; 1:00 PM Mermaid Show; 1:30 PM Float Parade; and 2:30 PM Killer Whale Show. I hope you find this helpful. Meal packages range from 58 to 78 RMB. The staff are reasonably well-trained, but some of the questions they provide weren't clear. There were no shuttle buses from the subway station or the park entrance.

The best thing about the park experience was the attentive service. Whenever you encountered a staff member, they were eager to point you in the right direction, greet you, and introduce you to the various marine animals, 4D movies, and roller coasters. 🎢 Even if you haven't been to Universal Studios, you might still find it amazing. The most distinctive feature of Ocean Park is probably the variety of marine animals, since you haven't seen many of them. The rides were just average, but the shows were quite exciting, like the mermaid show and the water show. The performers were also very dedicated, especially in such a cold weather. The restrooms in the park were also the best I've ever experienced. Finding them wasn't difficult, and there were rarely any lines. Food in the park is a bit pricey, so I recommend bringing your own food so you can get through security.

By China-TravelNote users |

We went there by car as a family. I would like to remind all tourists that when booking online tickets, you must book 2 hours in advance. Even if it says you can enter the park at any time, it will not take effect after 2 hours. The price on weekends is more expensive at 360 yuan. In fact, this aquarium is really good, but now the weather is cold, some outdoor amusement facilities are not open. Overall, I am very satisfied and it is worth a visit.

I thought my 5-month-old baby was the youngest in the park, but it turns out there are so many kids younger than us!

The park's parking lot is right next to the park's ticket office. After parking, cross a small road and you'll find the park's ticket office, which is very convenient. The ticket office is divided into two main areas: one is for annual passes, located in a small room, and the other is for on-site ticket purchases.

If you book tickets online, you can enter the park directly by swiping your ID card, eliminating the hassle of exchanging tickets.

In front of the fountain at the entrance is the symbol of Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park. It is also one of the places where everyone loves to take photos. Therefore, it is not easy to take an empty shot. Therefore, it is recommended not to spend too much time here, because there are many interesting projects waiting for you in the park. If you want to take pictures here, you can choose to take pictures when the park is closed. At that time, all the blue lights are turned on, and the whole square is illuminated with brilliance. There are also fewer people taking pictures, making it easier to take good photos.

Next to security, there's a Shanghai Tourism Information Desk with information about Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park. There are two copies of the information you need to pick up: a park guide, which includes a map, introductions to some of the park's attractions, and signs for public facilities. The guide is available in both Chinese and English. The other is a schedule for the park's performances, including the killer whale science show, dolphin adventures, and parades. You can pick up these after entering the park, but I recommend picking them up now so you have plenty of time to familiarize yourself with the park's layout before going through security and entering.

If you are really interested in marine life, then congratulations, because there are really a lot of things to see and do in Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park. It will take almost a whole day to visit it all.

But if you just want to play around, you can queue for a few hours, after all, there are several popular venues in the park.

Lunch and snacks are provided in the park, and the overall price is not very expensive compared to other large amusement parks.

Those pushing strollers need to enter the park through the stroller ticket gate on the far right. This lane is wider than the general pedestrian passage and is the second to last lane on the far right. The penultimate lane is for VIPs and is marked above.

In addition, strollers are not allowed in most exhibition halls and theaters, so you need to park your stroller outside the exhibition hall. There will usually be staff to supervise your stroller, so you don’t have to worry about losing it.

At Ocean World, all underwater creatures are indoors, and most visitors are children. Besides thrilling rides for adults, the park also features a "Children's Playground" for parent-child experiences. Rides like the Ocean Carousel, the Happy Flying Fish, and the Pelican Adventure are all suitable for children.

Sitting on the dreamy ocean carousel, imagining playing freely with the little dolphins and swaying left and right following the footsteps of the penguin troops, it is like being cast under a magical spell by the ocean. Let us release our childishness here, and let the children enjoy the little beauty of this moment in an environment full of ocean elements and accompanied by their families.

Each building here has a fairytale-like feel, with yellow being the dominant color. Check out any buildings you like!

The Mermaid Bay themed area, located at the park's main entrance, serves as the main shopping area at the park's exit and the final destination of this joyful ocean journey. The shop sells a variety of ocean-themed polar plush toys, cartoon charms, and other memorable gifts. Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park's own brand, "Qimeng Premium Shop," is also located here.

The Seven Cute Group is Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park's own IP, created based on various marine creatures. It is very popular with children. You can buy related derivatives of the "Seven Cute Group" in the store. The cartoon images of whales, dolphins, penguins and other creatures are full of childlike fun. Come and take home your good marine friends you encounter in the park!

Be sure to remember to bring a souvenir. Children will love the cute and adorable babies, and I believe girls will also be unable to resist taking pictures. The price is also affordable.

Mermaid Bay - Sky Dome Cinema - Antarctic Penguin Pavilion - Coral Jellyfish Pavilion - Dolphin Roller Coaster - Dolphin Home - Dolphin Theater - Volcano Whale Shark Pavilion - Underwater World Pavilion - Deep Sea Voyage - Space-Time Cable Car - Iceberg Arctic Pavilion - Snowpiercer - Super Sense 4D Cinema - Sea Animal Discovery Pavilion

Tips:

During the trial operation phase of the park, not all facilities are open for operation. Please call the park in advance to inquire about the opening status.

Overall, it's a great experience. You can see polar bears, one of the few in Shanghai, and even watch a science show featuring killer whales and dolphins! The staff are very welcoming, the parade is fun, and there are plenty of souvenirs. Not only can you learn a lot about marine life, but you can also have a lot of fun. It's really interesting!

I went to the aquarium on the 16th for its opening, high hopes high, but it turned out to be just average. They said they'd give me a commemorative opening ticket, but it turned out to be a rather low-quality card, ubiquitous and pointless. The park is large, and the overall operation feels very similar to Disneyland. There aren't many different animal species, but the usual suspects are all present. The exhibits are clean, probably because they're new and well-maintained. There are plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals, and many of the rides are geared towards children. The roller coaster didn't run due to the rain, and I skipped the deep-sea adventure ride, which required a two-hour queue. There's also a 4D ride, but the other attractions are smaller. There's also a cable car. The park has plenty of dining options, shops, and restrooms. There's a security check at the entrance, and food isn't allowed. The food is quite good, with set meals typically costing 68, 78, or 88 yuan. The cheapest is Burger King, near the volcano whale shark area, where you can order burgers a la carte for just over 20 yuan. There is also a float parade at noon and in the afternoon. It is still very tiring to see the whole aquarium. Each area is a bit far away. The focus should be on the performances of killer whales, mermaids and dolphins. There are several performances every day that you can go to see.

My baby went here on their fall school outing. It's a huge ocean theme park in Shanghai. There are several of them across China. But it's quite remote, in Nanhui New Town.

The park is centered around marine culture and is divided into five theme areas: Mermaid Bay, Polar Town, Ice and Snow Kingdom, Undersea Wonderland, and Ocean Tribe, as well as a distinctive marine theme resort hotel; six animal exhibition venues: Antarctic Penguin Hall, Sea Beast Exploration Hall, Iceberg Arctic Hall, Undersea World Hall, Volcano Shark Hall, and Coral Jellyfish Hall; nine star performances: "Killer Whale Science Show", "Dolphin Love Song", "White Whale Love", "Walrus Travels", "Mermaid Fairy Tale", "Water Dance Fish Room", "Ocean Fantasy Float Parade", "Town Party", and "Water Flying Man"; and six amusement facilities: Volcano Rafting, Dolphin Roller Coaster, Time and Space Cable Car, Deep Sea Voyage, Sky Dome Cinema, and Super Sense 4D Cinema.

I bought this for him with a digital camera from over a decade ago. He took all the photos himself. They're a lot blurry. Here are a few random ones. I don't know if he got to ride all the attractions. Anyway, he did the roller coaster, went rafting, saw the Tiger Eye show, saw the snow foxes, or was it the white foxes? And the penguin and polar bear enclosures! Anyway, it was all marine life. Picture 1, bought especially for me. I love you, baby.

Opening hours

June 11th - June 30th: 9:00-20:00 (Last entry 19:00); July 1st - July 31st: Monday to Friday: 09:00-20:00 (Last entry 19:00); Saturday to Sunday: 09:00-20:30 (Last entry 19:30)

Total area

About 29.7 hectares

Tips:

1. Be sure to go there early, around 9 o'clock, and play all day until it closes at night.

2. For foreign tourists, choose accommodation. A themed hotel. Just pick one from any of the major travel apps.

3. It is recommended to drive by yourself. Take a taxi, but there may be no cars back to the city.

There aren't many animals at Haichang, and the pools are small, especially the beluga whale pool. Watching them swirl around is beautiful and graceful, but it feels cramped. The educational content is also quite limited. There are various restaurants and small shops everywhere, but the prices are comparable to those at Disneyland. A mango smoothie costs 30 yuan, a basic rice bowl is 80 yuan, and parking is 50 yuan.

By Water and ice cream |

During the summer, Haichang Park was practically impossible to enjoy without an express ticket. The park had many performances, with the killer whale show being the most exciting. The rides were relatively few and mostly for children. The only thrilling attraction was the volcano rafting, but it was truly enjoyable and ranked as Xiaobao's favorite. Of course, the lines were also incredibly long, lasting at least two hours.

By Representative of Shanhuahua Kindergarten |

Located in a secluded area of Shanghai, this place is perfect for taking children to learn about the ocean. There's a lively float parade in the afternoon, featuring dolphin shows, sea lions, beluga whales, and more. It's not a large scale, but it's still a good place to go.

By Traveling Planet |

This is one of the best ocean parks I've visited. The animals are diverse and in excellent condition. I highly recommend it to animal lovers and it's a place you can definitely spend a whole day at. Of the rides, I personally recommend the rafting, though the wait time is a bit long. If you want to see an animal show, be sure to check the specific times after entering the park to avoid missing out.

By Fiorna |

We went on a rainy day, so there were very few people and we could play all the projects in the museum without queuing. Only the roller coaster was not open on rainy days, but all other facilities were open. It was fun. We took advantage of the half-price ticket season and went there. The ticket price was back. The volcano rafting was worth doing twice, it was very exciting.

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, located on the shores of Dishui Lake in Nanhui New Town, Pudong New Area, is a perfect place for a summer stroll with your child. As anyone who knows me knows, my kids absolutely adore aquariums, and a visit to one is a must-do on nearly every trip.

We've visited the renowned Churaumi Aquarium in Okinawa, SEA Aquarium in Singapore, and two other aquariums in downtown Shanghai. But none compare to the exhilarating Haichang, which boasts 12 exhibition halls, four large-scale marine animal interactive experiences, three special effects theaters, and 15 large and medium-sized rides.

By China-TravelNote users |

I went to Haichang Park on May 4th. During the epidemic, the park has done a good job in controlling the flow of people. You can bring your passport when entering the park and scan the Suishen QR code.

The indoor venues are not open, all are outdoor venues. The whale show is worth watching. It lasts 20 minutes.

The volcano cable car took too long to go. I didn't have time to go. I can go rafting next time. There was a penguin set meal at noon. The meal was okay. Overall, it was a good time. I will come back to play sometime next time and feed the pigeons.

By Xie Rong |

We stayed at their theme hotel, which had a lovely atmosphere. It also included two adult tickets, allowing for unlimited entry to the park. It's perfect for a family trip. The show times seemed inconsistent, so I had to research them.

By Xiong Jianghan |

The park opens at 9:30 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m. There are currently no night shows, but those who purchase a hotel package with admission can enter the park half an hour earlier. Bags will be checked upon entry, but you can bring water and drinks (mineral water is available in the vending machines for 8 yuan per bottle). Children over 1 meter tall must purchase a separate ticket.

It is recommended to avoid peak traffic times such as holidays, weekends, and summer and winter vacations. Recently, there have been many student autumn outing groups, and they are swarming like aunties queuing up to grab cheap eggs in the supermarket, so be careful!

The most popular pavilions are the Penguin Pavilion, the Marine Animal Pavilion and the Arctic Pavilion. One thing that is more annoying is that the exits of many pavilions are souvenir shops, which will be very crowded when there are many people, and the experience is very bad.

The animal shows are concentrated at noon and in the afternoon, including Beluga Love at 11:30, Walrus Travels at 12:00 (there is another one at 3:45 pm if you miss it), Killer Whale Show at 13:00, Dolphin Show at 14:00, Mermaid Fairy Tale at 14:45, Float Show at 15:00, and Water Dance at 16:00. You can still make it if you plan on time, as the park is not big.

Children under 1.2 meters tall are not allowed to ride the Dolphin Roller Coaster, Deep Sea Voyage, and Volcano Rafting. The height limit for other amusement facilities is 90 centimeters.

Stroller rental is at the main entrance, 60 a day, with a deposit of 200. It is very necessary to have one if you are bringing young children, but you can also bring your own.

There are many restaurants inside that can fill your stomach. Don’t focus on the taste. The most affordable one is Burger King, so it has the most people.

The entire hotel and park are nearly 2 hours away from the city by subway, which is quite remote. It takes an average of about 1 hour to order takeout.

By Old man |

I went there on a weekday after the National Day holiday. I ran into a lot of elementary and middle school students on their autumn outing. However, there were no queues for the various performances and venues. The longest queue for an entertainment item was about ten minutes. I was able to enjoy most of the activities in a whole day (。•ᴗ-)

As Halloween was approaching, the park had many Halloween elements and the lights were beautiful at night. There were many ghosts hanging from the trees, which puzzled the elderly.

You can visit all six major venues, and some performances are held inside the venues.

Performances: I don't recommend the Walrus Theater, it's the most boring I've ever seen. The Killer Whale Science Show, Beluga Love, and Dancing Fish are worth seeing.

Recreation facilities:

①The volcano rafting is more exciting than the one in Shanghai Disneyland. Wear a raincoat and foot covers, otherwise you will get half wet.

②The sound effect of the sky dome cinema is okay, but the picture is not bright enough and is gray.

③Deep Sea Voyage is good and worth playing

④Super Sense 4D movies are generally not as immersive as Deep Sea Voyage

The Whale Shark Restaurant is very unique. Next to the restaurant is an arc-shaped fish tank with sharks swimming around, making you feel as if you are at the bottom of the sea.

By Yvonne |

It's perfect for a family outing. You can see all sorts of marine animals! There are also a variety of amazing animal performances, and you can learn about various marine animals everywhere. The recreational facilities are also great!

🐳The killer whale, a dolphin, is not only huge but can also swim at a speed of 45 kilometers per hour. It is also an amazing baby!

🐧The penguin is still sleeping standing up without moving!

🐟There are also fish that look like cows!

🦈The automatic qualifying car is parked like a shark in a parking lot!

Killer whales, beluga whales, dolphins, sea lions, seals, and walruses are all great babies who can perform!

By Dust |

I went there in July and there were a lot of people.

To be honest, the overall style does not match the level of Shanghai. It feels like an urban-rural junction, especially the Aquaman electronic music party at night. Whether you want to participate or not, it is very deafening. Can animals rest at night after performing during the day?

The beluga whales are very pitiful. The three of them are kept in a very small place. They have been surrounding the fence, waiting for the door to open. I feel a little sad.

The same goes for killer whales. Seeing them pounce on people and performing those shows is really unnecessary. They have lost their freedom after being captured. Can't they have a spacious space to move around?

Apart from that, the popularization of marine life in this place is really not up to par, and the exhibitions lack logic. I just feel that this place is making money nakedly. Taking a photo with dolphins costs 168, not to mention feeding fish and deep diving... Both Hong Kong and Okinawa do a good job, and we can definitely learn from them.

If you want to go, I recommend buying night tickets, which are more cost-effective. The place is not big anyway, so you can basically catch the whole show if you go according to the show time.

By Grace's Fantasy |

I have always longed to visit Haichang Ocean Park, and this time I finally had the chance to experience it. I am so happy!

Because my home is really far away, two hours away...so it's almost 11 o'clock when I get there.

I thought I wouldn't have enough time to play, but it went better than expected and I basically played all the activities I wanted to play.

💛Must-play items

👉🏾Watch killer whale performances at the Killer Whale Theater

👉🏾Mermaid fairy tale show, watch mermaids dancing in the water

👉🏾Volcano Whale Shark Hall

👉🏾Deep Sea Voyage, a super popular project, 100 minutes of waiting, 3D glasses are required👓, there is a storyline

👉🏾Antarctic Penguin House, so cute!!!

👉🏾Sky-dome cinema, super shocking, you can watch it while sitting or lying down!

💛About eating

Food is really expensive in the park. A simple meal costs over 70 or 80 yuan. An ice cream cone costs 30 yuan. It's delicious, but it tastes just like convenience store ice cream. A small bottle of mineral water costs 8 yuan.

The places with better dining views are the Volcano Whale Shark Pavilion and the Antarctic Penguin Pavilion.

If you want something more affordable, go to Burger King.

I didn't take the cable car, but I found that it's actually very close if you just walk.

Basically, by 5 o'clock, I had finished shopping and played everything I wanted to play, but I was also exhausted...

In fact, this place is really suitable for family trips, but many children later complained of being tired and wanted to go home... because the park is too big and many projects require queuing.

oops

This ocean park is so much fun!

What's that in Hong Kong?

Thanks to China-TravelNote and Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park for the tickets🎫

The kids and adults had a lot of fun!!! 😄

I really enjoyed the performances, including the dolphin, killer whale, beluga whale and mermaid shows.

There are also my favorite polar bears and penguins that walk swayingly 🥳

It's far but worth it

Everyone has one or two kids to walk around...

I also enjoyed walking myself.

The air conditioning is on full blast, and even when you walk outdoors, water vapor will spray to cool you down... It should be a great place to take your kids out during the hot summer!

I hope there will be more opportunities like this in the future.

Thanks again to China-TravelNote for the tickets and the two young ladies for their tips in advance.

I hope to give two for one next time

I can find someone to hang out with me (take photos for me/drive me) hot…😁

By Wisdom |

It's too far. It was so hot yesterday, but it's good to go and see the small animals. The killer whale show and the mermaid show are worth seeing. The set meal in the park is 78-98, and the skewers and sausages in the store outside are 30 and 15, which is a bit expensive per person.

By Skull Little Kaikai |

I was thrilled to win a prize for a Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park experience on China-TravelNote.com. The killer whale and beluga whale shows were truly impressive, and I immediately uploaded a short video of the beluga whale show to share with everyone. The park's facilities are relatively new, offering both animal viewing and entertainment areas – a wonderful blend. There are plenty of performances at each venue, and with the right schedule, you can't miss them. The shows are definitely worth seeing. I usually lined up about 30 minutes early. We arrived an hour early for the killer whale show, so we missed the float parade, but it was still worth it.

As for areas for improvement, the signage within the venues is quite limited. For example, getting to the Polar Land entrance from the 4D Cinema requires a long detour. The signage inside the venues also needs to be improved. Staff at the entrance mechanically offer a welcome rather than assisting with the flow of visitors. Furthermore, the park's emergency response plan for large crowds may not be adequate. Yesterday, with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius and over 10,000 people entering the park, the smoothie machine in the kiosk was extremely slow to produce ice, and the supply couldn't keep up. They even ran out of iced drinks. I hope the park management will consider these issues. There's also the issue of shuttle buses from the subway station to the park. The park management could consider adding a dedicated route. Illegal taxis are unsafe, and the bus schedule is unpredictable, making it very inconvenient for outside visitors.

The performances in the park are absolutely cute, shocking and healing.

Setting aside the topic of animal performances, even humans cannot achieve absolute freedom for individuals, let alone animals. Protecting the ecological environment, curbing overfishing and killing, and restoring freedom to wildlife at its root are the correct approach.

Thanks again to China-TravelNote and Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park for allowing me to experience this experience.

Visiting Haichang Ocean Park in the summer brings a refreshing coolness. Most of the marine life exhibits are air-conditioned, keeping the temperature relatively cool. Haichang boasts numerous animal shows that rival those at SeaWorld San Diego, including a mermaid show that's not available at some other aquariums. It's truly breathtaking. My favorites are "Dancing Fish" and "Mermaid Fairytale," where freedivers and synchronized swimmers dance gracefully among schools of fish, like free-living mermaids in the sea. It's truly elegant.

Other animal performances included killer whales, like giant pandas of the sea. Despite their enormous size, they were incredibly cute and adorable. The dolphins were graceful and agile, working seamlessly with their keepers. I didn't know much about beluga whales before, but the show was still awe-inspiring.

Haichang Ocean Park, as one of China's leading marine parks, is well worth a visit, especially with children. Children are particularly fond of marine life, and each pavilion has a science booth to help them learn about the ocean. It's best to avoid holidays and weekends, as weekends are often crowded even in the heat of summer. Be sure to reserve seats for the animal shows in advance.

I was selected as a test officer and went to Haichang. It was my first time to go there even though I live in Pudong. The transportation is not very convenient. I have to take a shuttle bus to get to the subway station.

You don't need to exchange tickets when buying tickets online, you can just swipe your ID card. The park feels quite large, and it was a bit dizzy even with a map when I first came. Just walk a few more times and you'll be fine. 😂

You can bring your own unopened water and food, or bring a kettle to some restaurants to fill with water. I didn't see any direct drinking water system. There are many vending machines, and bottled water starts at 8 yuan.

Except for some amusement facilities with particularly long queues, there are almost no queues at other venues and performances, and you can go in directly, but you just need to manage your time well.

Nearby venues will also remind visitors that a performance in a nearby venue is about to begin, and everyone should hurry up and go, so you almost won’t miss it.

The show was very high-tech and quite unique. The final fireworks display was over the river, starting around 7:30. However, the 11:35 shuttle bus to the subway station was no longer running at that time, so we had to squeeze into the Lingang 4 bus.

The overall service attitude is OK, and the guidance is also very good. There is no big problem except that the subway cannot be directly connected.

You Ziying was lucky enough to get the Fengwan Experience Officer this time😃

That day, I traveled about three and a half hours from Hangzhou to Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park.

As soon as I entered the Ocean Park, I was greeted by a roller coaster whizzing past. The exciting screams of the tourists on it immediately made me excited and I couldn't wait to ride the roller coaster. 🎢

The roller coaster's launch isn't gradual. With the mere sound of the motor, the seats feel like they've been recharged, and then they're thrust onto the largest track. At the very beginning, there's a huge turn, and I almost can't lift my head. 😄 The roller coaster here has a downward plunge with a twist, so besides the feeling of falling, you also feel the centrifugal force. Every turn is incredibly thrilling.😆

After lunch, I headed to the nearby Deep Sea Voyage. Despite the long line and a sense of uncertainty, the experience was quite pleasantly surprising. While not as thrilling as a roller coaster, the vibrations of the ride combined with the 3D glasses and the deep-sea scenery truly gave me a sense of weightlessness. At one point, a pearl flew out, and it was so realistic that I even reached out to grab it. 😂

The Underwater World, Volcano Whale Shark Pavilion, Iceberg Arctic Pavilion, Antarctic Penguin Pavilion, Coral Jellyfish Pavilion, and Marine Animal Discovery Pavilion are all venues where you can see marine animals up close. These pavilions are home to adorable sharks, seals, penguins, polar bears, and Arctic foxes. In one day, I was able to observe these animals up close without having to travel across multiple locations. It was incredibly satisfying! 😌 My distance from the animals was only separated by a glass window. Gazing through the glass into the water, I felt like I was actually diving. My favorite was the Antarctic Penguin Pavilion. The penguins were tiny, plump, and adorable. 🐧 The closest little penguin was less than five centimeters away, and I held its gaze for nearly ten seconds, almost as if I could touch it. It was such a joy! (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑

(Warm tip: Penguins are very afraid of flashes, so don’t hurt them.)

I think it's also nice to come here in the summer. The Antarctic and Arctic Pavilions have air conditioning, which is very refreshing. It's really enjoyable to watch the little penguins while avoiding the heat. Haha.

My first time using China-TravelNote's free trial voucher was to experience the fun at Shanghai Haichang Ocean World. I was so lucky! I'll definitely be checking in every day from now on 🤗.

The five theme pavilions in the entire park are:

Mermaid Bay, Ice and Snow Kingdom, Undersea Wonderland, Ocean Tribe, and Polar Town.

Mermaid Bay is mainly for merchandise sales, so you can take a good look around when you leave the park.

The White Whale Love show and 4D cinema in the Ice and Snow Kingdom are not to be missed;

The mermaid show and deep-sea voyage in the underwater wonderland are not to be missed;

The dolphin theater in the Ocean Tribe is not to be missed;

Of course, don’t miss the main attraction of the entire park, the “Killer Whale Science Show”.

Children's entertainment:

Roller coaster and volcano rafting (when I went there on August 13, 2019, the volcano rafting was closed and I don’t know when it will reopen).

For more wonderful fun, I hope that you who are reading this review (give the official advertisement a wave 😊) will go and experience it in person.

I was very happy to get a ticket and took my mother to visit Haichang Park. I saw polar bears and killer whales with my own eyes. It was very happy and it was also the most worthwhile point.

The park combines animal viewing with an amusement park experience, making it suitable for children, though it's not ideal for very young babies. Strollers are available for rent. The performances in all three theaters are worth seeing, each lasting about 20 minutes. You can also pay to sit in the VIP auditorium and take photos with the animals.

The temperature difference between inside and outside the museum is quite large, so you might want to bring a jacket. There's a parade at 3 p.m., and staff will spray water at the crowd, so be careful not to get wet. There's also a splash zone during the performances, so bring your own raincoat if you need one. You can also buy one at the station and inside the museum. The signs in the park aren't very clear.

Since the park is quite far away, I remind my friends to go out early and add the park’s official account to know the performance time and park map in advance and make reasonable arrangements.

So exciting! 🙈🙈 Time to let loose during summer vacation...

This ocean park is newly opened and the largest one in Shanghai!

I have to praise it, the interior is really well built👌

One word, big! Two words, big! The kind that makes your legs break😂

You won’t be able to come out without five or six hours, because you have to play with the project 😂

The animals in the ocean are so cute, so cute that you can see their soft spots when you see them.

One-ticket-all! Note: Those under 1.3 can't ride the roller coaster, but everything else is fine. It's a bit of a bummer, though. All the rides are incredibly short—so short it'll make you question your life... 30-hour line, 1-minute ride! Maybe even 30 seconds 😂 Especially the cable car. 30-hour line, 1-minute one-way ride, and it's over 😡 Can't you get a 2-minute round trip? 🙈🙈

The sea lion show and killer whale show are pretty good! 👍

The performance is nothing special.

There is a sky-screen cinema inside, and the visual experience is really awesome!

It feels like a Hollywood blockbuster...666👍👍

After spending a day there, I felt like I was celebrating Children's Day! Hahahahahahaha...

It really looks like a fairy tale kingdom inside, very pleasing to the eyes.

This place is suitable for families and couples 😜

Ticket price: 350 for adults and 240 for children

I bought it on Dianping.com. Children's tickets are 99 yuan if you buy them a day in advance. I didn't notice and bought it on the day of the event, spending 240 yuan. 😂 The atmosphere is just as good as the price. A family of three can spend around 2,000 yuan on a single visit. 😉 If you haven't been there, I highly recommend it. It's a great way to experience the joys of a happy childhood!

The park is divided into five major theme areas: Mermaid Bay, Polar Town, Ice and Snow Kingdom, Undersea Wonderland, and Ocean Tribe. There are six large animal exhibition venues, namely the Antarctic Penguin Hall, Sea Beast Exploration Hall, Iceberg Arctic Hall, Underwater World Hall, Volcano Whale Shark Hall, and Coral Jellyfish Hall. In addition, there are ocean-themed parades, high-tech cinemas, roller coasters and other amusement facilities.

The highlight is the killer whale education show. These large-animal shows have varying start times, so it's recommended to check the daily schedule at the entrance and arrive early, as they are generally very popular. Before the killer whales make their appearance, a science video explains their morphology, characteristics, and habits, along with a plot introduction. But the real star of the show, the killer whales, truly captivated us. Their stark black and white, their backs a gleaming black like piano lacquer, contrasted by their radiant white bellies. Their chubby shapes give them a charming, almost ocean-like appearance, resembling giant pandas. They lifted their heads and spun in circles in the water. Then, one of them suddenly dove to the bottom. As visitors scrambled to find it, it suddenly leaped out of the water, its graceful form tracing a perfect arc through the air, drawing applause. Before we knew it, two more killer whales suddenly rushed ashore, inching forward. As their massive bodies lay completely limp on the shore, unreserved, I felt a sudden surge of inexplicable emotion and tenderness. I truly wanted to hug them. They interacted intimately with their keepers, once again drawing closer to the audience. Afterward, the adorable killer whales performed their unique backstroke and tail flicks. Spectators who are close to the tail flicks were advised to wear raincoats or hold umbrellas, as they might be subjected to a "baptism" from the killer whales.

Some of the animal viewing spots I personally recommend:

Marine Animal Discovery Hall: Sea lions, seals, and otters

Killer Whale Theater: Killer Whale Science Show

Antarctic Penguin House: Penguins

Iceberg Arctic Pavilion: Polar bears, Arctic foxes, Arctic wolves, and beluga whale shows

Volcano Whale Shark Hall and Underwater World Hall: Similar to the Lujiazui Aquarium, there are not many surprises, but the scene of the piano on the seabed is still amazing.

Another important tip: renting a stroller is a crucial step. Our child suddenly became reluctant to move and insisted on riding in a car. We didn't have a stroller with us this time, so we tried to borrow one at the entrance, only to find they were all sold out. With our child clamoring to go home and our tickets worthless, we decided to wait at the entrance and try our luck. After all, Tiaotiao wasn't going anywhere. We waited for a long time, but just when we were about to give up, a couple returned the stroller. We quickly paid the deposit, secured the child's seatbelt, and finally found some peace. For those with children, bringing your own stroller is recommended, if possible.

If you have time, you can also go rafting and ride the roller coaster. Overall, it is quite satisfactory. I look forward to the second visit next time.

It's far from the city center, and it takes an hour and a half to drive there. The parking lot is 50 yuan a day. Tickets are more expensive on weekends than on weekdays. The venue is large and it doesn't feel crowded on weekends. However, in order to disperse the flow of people, the venue has to run across the bridge during the performance. After watching the killer whale show, if you want to see the dolphins, you have to walk across the bridge, which is disgusting. However, the animals are very clean and the performance is also very good. It is a good place for people who are afraid of playing amusement facilities.

We stayed at the Ocean Park Theme Hotel at that time. It is worth mentioning that if we checked out of the park at 11 o'clock and planned to enter the park again after dinner, we would not be able to enter the park at all. This is very bad and unscientific, which reduced the score of the overall trip. There were fewer people in the park on Friday when we went there, but since the park is new, there is still a smell of paint. The overall ocean venue is very beautiful, but not big. My baby is more than 2 weeks old, so it is more suitable for two days. For older babies, one day can be completed. It is recommended to drive to Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. It is really remote and there is no direct transportation. It takes more than two hours to get there by subway. The dinner at the Polar Restaurant downstairs is really average, not worth more than 200 yuan, and not as rich as the breakfast. It is recommended to go to the nearby Nanhui New City or order takeout. The most affordable place in the scenic area is Burger King. Overall, it is still worth recommending.

It just opened in November, and thanks to the owners, I had the pleasure of being a test drive. From downtown, you can take the subway to Line 16, get off at Lingang Avenue Station, and exit at Exit 1. There's an Ocean Park shuttle bus service in the adjacent parking lot, which takes you directly to the park. The most memorable part of my day was the killer whale and mermaid shows. The jellyfish aquarium boasts a wide variety of jellyfish. The aquarium is perfect for children, and the roller coaster is perfect for thrill seekers, especially for the more timid. You can also take a cable car for a bird's-eye view of the entire Ocean Park. In the summer, you can also go rafting...

Thanks to China-TravelNote, I visited Haichang Park for the second time. I had originally planned to go rafting in the summer, but unfortunately, the rafting was under maintenance, which was a shame. I called before going to ask if I could bring water, and they said I could bring a 600ml bottle of water, but not bread or other food. Actually, even if I did bring it, they didn't seem to care. If you drive, there's a parking lot nearby for 50 yuan per trip. It's more convenient to take the subway. Take Line 16 Lingang Station, exit 3, and transfer to bus 1135. There are quite a lot of cars, so it was pretty empty.

This time I saw a lot of penguins, they were so cute, some of them were particularly big, I also watched a walrus show, a 4D movie (50 minutes in line, 8 minutes of watching the movie), a beluga whale show, a jet ski show... The weather was hot, but the actors were very dedicated.

Tips: Bring a disposable raincoat with you when rafting. They are sold on site but they are a bit expensive.

The most anticipated, fun, and exciting attraction of this trip. Both adults and children like it very much, and the little one likes it very much and has a lot of fun.

By Ralf.F |

Pros: Killer whale show

shortcoming:

1. For self-driving tours, parking is inconvenient and there are no parking lot instructions.

2 I didn't feel the enthusiasm of the staff, which was a big difference compared to a certain hotel.

3. There was no proper distancing after the performance and the venue was very crowded.

4. Some venues also sell VIP seats for performances.

5. The equipment in the amusement area, except for the roller coaster, is only suitable for young children.

6. For items that require queuing, there is no waiting time at the door, and the waiting time shown on the official WeChat account is far from the actual situation.

Today is the fifth day of the Lunar New Year, and I set off for Haichang Ocean Park. This place is really too far away. It takes more than an hour to drive there from Hongkou, Shanghai. The wind is quite strong today, and the outdoor performances made me shiver.

The experience is very good. The park is large enough for a whole day. The sky theater, penguin house, beluga whale and killer whale performances are the best!

Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, located on the shores of Dishui Lake in Pudong New Area, has a clear layout. In addition to the "Mermaid Bay" where you can fully immerse yourself in the ocean world as soon as you enter the gate, the park is divided into five areas according to different marine environments: "Polar Town", "Ocean Tribe", "Undersea Wonderland" and "Ice and Snow Kingdom". It is home to multiple marine animal venues, three major animal performance venues, two high-tech cinemas and more than ten interesting amusement facilities. At the same time, it has complete dining, accommodation and shopping facilities, allowing travelers to happily travel in the dreamlike ocean world!

A great experience!!

One visit is really not enough! Waiting for the official opening!

Able to experience it first during the trial operation period

There are quite a few people visiting on weekends.

We arrived not too early, around 11:00 am.

There are several buses after getting off the subway, which is very convenient

There are many venues inside

It's simply too much to watch

The mermaid in the whale shark tank is awesome!!!

Saw penguins, polar bears, sea lions, seals and dolphins! !

Haha, I haven't seen these animals for a long time.

Feeling like returning to childhood

I highly recommend the cable car and sky dome cinema.

Especially when I was lying down, I was completely immersed in it.

I went to the Penguin Restaurant. The food was not expensive and was very unique.

There are real penguins in the penguin restaurant!!! So cute!

It is probably newly built. The formaldehyde in some shops is still very pungent, and many are still under construction, so there are not many attractions. It is not worth going now. It will probably take another year to complete.
