The entertainment projects in Adventure Island are quite popular, but Soaring Over the Horizon and Roaring Mountain Rafting are both included in the fast pass, which is an excellent operation. You can also give the limited-time fast pass to the Adventure Island project, but it is not recommended to play Soaring Over the Horizon too many times. After all, if you have seen it once, it will not be as amazing the second time.

Soaring over the horizon

Project attributes: 5D movie technology

Star rating: ★★★☆

Type: Virtual, Landscape, Fear of heights

Soaring Over the Horizon is one of my favorite Disney attractions, probably because I'm a playful person and I enjoy natural scenery. The theater uses 5D technology to present the world's most beautiful sights to you visually, olfactorily, and in every way. I can't help but want to be there.

One thing is that the effect is too realistic, it seems like you are really flying... which makes me, who is afraid of heights, a little scared...

What’s interesting is that there is gas coming out from grasslands, oceans, etc., and it really smells like sea water and lawn.

Soaring Over the Horizon - Recommended Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Turn right after entering 👉 and head straight for Disney's hottest attraction, Soaring Over the Horizon, with an average queue time of over two hours. Thanks to our Early Bird Pass, we were able to get in in less than half an hour. Fly from the Eiffel Tower to the Taj Mahal, then to the African savannah filled with elephants. The scent effects let you smell the fragrance of grass, the sea breeze from Fiji, and the roses from India. It's truly immersive, and the experience lasts a full five minutes. It's a must-try!

By Tail Wong |

It is recommended to go at night so that the queue time is shorter.

By DrZou |

One of Disney's most popular attractions had a 150-minute queue and a five-minute experience, but it was worth it. The visual effects were amazing and worth a second visit.

By Still today |

I feel like this is the best project here, the experience is great, it's worth doing twice, but the queue is too long.

By Tammy |

First thing I did upon entering the park!!! I ran to the right to Soar Over the Horizon while scanning the QR code on my ticket on the Disney Resort app to bind and grab a Free Pass. I ran to the right because if I ran there at this time, I could almost skip the line and ride Soar Over the Horizon! It saved me a Free Pass!!! The highlight of Soar Over the Horizon is the bird's-eye view of the world, soaring through the sky, and experiencing a global journey. The 4D effect is amazing, and you get to smell the ocean and the grass. I personally don't think a second viewing is necessary, after all, the 3D, 4D, and 5D effects of movies are pretty good these days, so one experience is enough.

By wing Xiaozhe |

The 5D projection system makes you feel like you're a bird soaring through the sky, taking in the world's beauty. This is a great attraction for all ages, but the lines can be quite long, exceeding an hour and a half. Fast Passes are incredibly important. Recommended: 5 stars.

By Oli |

The most popular FP project is quite similar to Fantawild's Leap of Fame. It is said that the first row has a good effect, and the air is filled with the fragrance of grass and flowers. Personally, I feel that the effect I see is not very consistent with the waiting time. It is recommended to have FP or queue for less than 20 minutes to play. It is the hottest project in the entire park.

By Misty |

The staff will ask how many people are traveling with you. If it's one, two, or three people, it's probably because they were short of people for the previous game.

Soaring Horizon is like a cave. You sit in a chair like this. When the game starts, the chair will keep moving forward, and you'll feel like you're flying. Be sure to fasten your seatbelt! It's a naked-eye 4D experience! It takes you through the Arctic, with polar bears right at your feet!

When walking through the African savannah, you can clearly smell the strong smell of grass, and you almost feel like you are riding on the back of an elephant!

There is also Türkiye with hot air balloons everywhere. I want to take you to romantic Türkiye~

When we arrived at the Great Wall, I was deeply impressed. Dandan said: Honey, this is the Great Wall we climbed!

Yes, it was the Great Wall. That was during the worst smog period of 2016. Luckily, the sun came out when we were climbing the Great Wall that day!

By A small field |

The feeling after playing the game is that it is not worth it for those who queue for hours, because it is really not interesting. You just sit on a machine and experience the three-dimensional scenery of various parts of the world.

By Freeze at that moment |

Special Recommendation

This was the ride with the longest queue. It went in circles, and the lines were so long I almost questioned my life. But the visuals were amazing, and the grassy area was fragrant as I passed by. If it weren't so crowded, I'd have done it two or three more times. By the time I got out, it was already dark. Oh my god!

By egysday |

It’s a popular project and the waiting time is also record-breaking, but you don’t have to worry if you have FP. It feels great to get in directly.

This project requires you to sit on a liftable seat, and use the 5D effect to make you feel like you are soaring in the air and overlooking the beautiful scenery around the world.

We sat in the back row, and when the front row was raised, we could see a row of feet above our heads, which was quite cute.

It was my first time watching a 5D movie with a scent. When I looked down at the elephants running in the grassland, there was even the scent of grass ↓

By Live like a summer flower |

A thrilling ride similar to a roller coaster, many times more exciting than a roller coaster, definitely worth a second visit

By Tripitaka of the Tang Dynasty |

Standing atop Mount Kilimanjaro, traversing the lush grasslands of Africa, soaring over the vast expanse of the Great Wall, frolicking with polar bears and dancing with giant whales, we finally arrived in Paris, ablaze with bright lights, and concluded our journey in Shanghai, a city ablaze with fireworks. This was a magical journey, a spiritual journey, beyond words, only experience!

By Heart in the sea of stars |

Soar Over the Horizon is the most popular attraction at Shanghai Disneyland, bar none. The waiting time is usually more than two hours, and sometimes even up to four hours. If you don’t have an express ticket here, you have to queue up early so that you can spend less time. It is not recommended to queue for several hours. It is best to sit in the first row when you get in. The 5D effect is great, and you can smell the fragrance of flowers and grass. If the waiting time is short, it is definitely a highly recommended attraction. It is very shocking and you can never get enough to play it a few times.

By China-TravelNote users |

It's essentially a movie theater, but you strap in your seat and your chair rises into the air, hoisting you into the air. It's an IMAX dome theater, and the entire experience takes about five minutes, flying over some of the world's most famous sights: the Matterhorn, Mount Kilimanjaro, Monument Valley, the Sydney Opera House, the Eiffel Tower, the African savannah, and more. The graphics are in 4K resolution, but there's no interactive gameplay throughout the entire experience. Besides the stunning visuals, it's not particularly fun or exciting.

By Chen Chen Chen |

The seats are arranged in three rows and columns. Pre-flight passengers are seated in the leftmost section, and we were placed in the first row within that section, so we didn't have to see the front row's view. Having never seen a full-dome movie like this before, I found it quite impressive. From the air, I was able to admire the world's stunning scenery: snow-capped mountains, the Arctic, the African savannah, the Taj Mahal, Fiji Island, Turkish hot air balloons, the Sydney Opera House, the Eiffel Tower, Neuschwanstein Castle, the Great Wall, Shanghai's Lujiazui... It felt like places I might never visit in my lifetime, and even if I did, I wouldn't necessarily see from above. I was actually quite moved. However, perhaps because my seats were slightly to the edge, I could occasionally see the grid lines on the screen, which was a bit distracting. Five-star rating. The entire movie lasted about five minutes. If you use a pre-flight option or the lines aren't long, it's a great value. If you insist on waiting in line, the choice is yours.

(East side of the park) ♥♥♥♥♥

The #1 rating online isn't exaggerated; the experience is truly amazing, even with the longest lines. Everyone sits in a chair, the room plunges into complete darkness, and the chair slowly rises, revealing a full-screen view. One moment, you're soaring over icebergs, the next, you're plunging into the Arctic Ocean, skimming the waters of Fiji, and passing through a tropical rainforest. Over the Horizon takes you soaring over breathtaking views of the world's most breathtaking scenery. The sensation of soaring is incredibly realistic, and the experience is truly terrific!

By Fake flowers |

The guide only helped us get FP for two rides, one of which was Soar Over the Horizon. Since it's a popular ride, we were all very happy to get FP. We were a little happy to see the queue time of 240 minutes before entering the gate: "You guys take your time to queue up, we'll go play first~"

I believe this is the most popular attraction in Disney. As long as you are not afraid of heights, you can have fun with it, and the effect is also great.

The most amazing thing about visiting so many countries at once was that when we visited a grassland, the room was filled with a strong smell of grass, but when we got to the next attraction, it was gone. It was still a magical place like Disney.

I won’t spoil the rest, but I highly recommend this project!

By Zhang ying |

Waiting time: about 15 minutes

The queues are incredibly fast with a FP card. Soaring Over the Horizon is arguably the most popular attraction at Disneyland (I'm not sure why the lines for Seven Dwarfs and Mine Train are noticeably longer). This is essentially a full-dome movie that uses VR-like effects to fly over some of the world's most famous sights: the Matterhorn, Kilimanjaro, Monument Valley, the Sydney Opera House, the Eiffel Tower, the African Savannah, the Great Wall of China, and more. Furthermore, as the imagery changes, the audience's seats move up and down, left and right. The movement is subtle, but it's incredibly convincing. Plus, you get a sensory experience, especially when you're on the savannah, where you can almost smell the sweet aroma of the earth.

I recommend sitting in the first row, as the view from the back row is blocked. I heard that people in the second row can see the dangling feet of people in the first row (hahahaha, I was in the first row anyway). However, I personally think it's just so-so.

By Ella |

The wait time was nearly an hour. Okay, let's go for it!! Upon entering, you can watch a video safety guide for the game, which clearly was recorded specifically for Disneyland China. The way they greet you is to ask if you've eaten! Haha, so down-to-earth. Inside, there are rows of flying chairs, and you can store your belongings in the small baskets underneath, which is quite convenient. It felt like I could fly, soaring over beautiful places around the world. The perspective is something you'll never experience again. It was truly amazing. Sometimes I even felt a slight sense of weightlessness, and I kept exclaiming with joy.

By Brother Yi's close fans |

This project is definitely worth queuing up to play. I wanted to watch it a second time after watching it for the first time (it was a project that the three of us unanimously agreed must be watched twice). I won’t spoil it here, but in short, even if you only play one project, you must choose "Over the Horizon".

By Yingxuan |

Soaring Over the Horizon is the number one project in this area. Since you are not allowed to take photos after entering, everyone can only rely on their imagination. The 4D effects inside are quite shocking, taking you to all parts of the world. The scenes are realistic and you feel like you are there.

By Take a break |

The second-ranked project with the longest waiting time. In the Adventure Island area,

The queue starts at 9:40 PM, and the app shows it takes 75 minutes. Although the park closes at 10:00 PM, anyone who lines up before then is allowed to ride. This attraction involves a row of people sitting in chairs, who lift you 12 meters into the air for a glasses-free 3D experience. This experience takes you on a world-class IMAX 4K dome-style film experience. With seats that simulate the feeling of driving, you can immerse yourself in the sights of snow-capped mountains, the ocean, the desert, the pyramids, the Eiffel Tower, the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Great Wall, and more. Each location has its own unique fragrance, especially when passing through the woods; you can practically smell the aroma. It's a relaxing and wonderful experience, but not suitable for anyone with a very, very fear of heights.

By Cross-domain travel |

The Horizon Soar ride was the most arduous of all. The sign indicated a 150-minute line, but it felt longer than that. Fortunately, the tunnels were all underground, cooled by air conditioning and stone walls, so the temperature wasn't too high. The line was endless. After two and a half hours under the dome, I was nearly exhausted. This goes to show the importance of fast entry! Fortunately, the result was excellent. After experiencing Horizon Soar, I can only describe it in two words: enjoyable! It was truly a feast!

However, the actual equipment is just a chairlift that takes you about 10 meters off the ground. It's truly amazing that the technology can make it so realistic! Although it's the most tiring part, I absolutely love it!

By Coco_Xiaoxunxun |

I highly recommend this attraction. The first thing I did when I entered the park in the morning was to get my Express Pass. Although I didn't get it until the evening, I was still very satisfied. It felt like I was watching the world in naked-eye 3D. It was so real that it scared my daughter to tears.

By Just Xia Anan |

As one of the most popular attractions at Shanghai Disneyland, Soar Over the Horizon certainly didn't disappoint. Braving the drizzle, we jogged to the line. Arriving at the entrance around 8 a.m., the line had already stretched outside the cave.

The initial excitement made the waiting time less boring. The cave was designed to resemble a mine, narrowing and zigzagging downwards until it finally reached a wide open space. Every girl couldn't help but exclaim "Wow" when they looked up.

The sky is full of stars and the Milky Way twinkles together. The distance is so close that it seems as if the entire universe is reflected in my eyes. From time to time, there are meteors slowly passing by, which is incredibly beautiful.

Oh, I need to explain that under the beautiful starry sky, there is an S-shaped queue with no end in sight. People who don’t know about it may feel a little desperate when they come in for the first time.

Before entering the project office, you'll watch a video in a small waiting area explaining the precautions. It's a bit awkward, but bear with it. Seating is based on the order in which you queue, and you'll be guided by staff throughout the entire process, so don't worry about getting a good view in the first or second row. There's no competition, it's all based on luck.

The lobby is dark, and staff will remind you to put your belongings away and fasten your seatbelt. Then, Grandma Thunderbird arrives, ready to soar into the sky with her. And when you finally take flight, the clouds and mist dissipate, revealing the world at your feet. It couldn't be more amazing.

It's only five minutes, but the experience is truly breathtaking. It's definitely worth waiting in line for an hour, so get there early.

By Super Jing Jing Jing✨ |

The entire flight took about five minutes, flying over some of the world's most famous sights. The first snow-capped mountains were a dazzling sight, giving me a weightless, almost-forward feeling. The effect was so realistic, I felt like I was practically touching the peak. Then, the flight cut to the Eiffel Tower, Iguazú Falls, and the seemingly tangible sight of elephants running across the African savannah. Then, the Great Wall of China, and the Taj Mahal in India. When the Taj Mahal appeared, the child behind me yelled, "Dubai!" The sequence was breathtaking, and finally, back to the Shanghai Bund at night, with its dazzling fireworks display, I returned to reality. It truly felt like I'd traveled the world in a fraction of the time.

The project experience is still very good. If you have to queue for three or four hours, it is not worth it. It is limited to using FP. As for the fact that many people say that you can smell the fragrance according to the scene, maybe time passed too quickly and I didn't have time to feel it.

By Ranran loves traveling |

"Soar - Over the Horizon" is the highest-rated ride online in the entire Shanghai Disneyland. The waiting time is more than two hours, and it is also the place I visit as the finale.

This is a spherical screen hall. After the show begins, the seats rise up, giving you the feeling of being suspended in mid-air, as if you were soaring through the sky on a glider. From snow-capped mountains to the ocean to cities, from China to Africa to India, it finally returns to Shanghai at night and ends with a display of fireworks.

This is an absolutely worthwhile experience. Of course, only by experiencing it yourself can you appreciate the shock. However, I always feel that five minutes is too short and it leaves you wanting more.

I recorded the whole process with the mirrorless camera on my legs, and took a few screenshots and posted them here. The real experience was really great.

By Cn_Xiaojie |

This is the most worthy attraction at Shanghai Disneyland, bar none. It also typically has the longest lines. Located on Adventure Island, I recommend getting a Ticket for the Adventure Isle upon arrival. If you don't get one, try lining up in the morning, as crowds tend to be heavier in the afternoon. We queued in the afternoon for a full three hours (three hours in line for five minutes), and my friends bought scalper tickets for the Ticket for the Adventure Isle (180 yuan each). Believe me, you'll be blown away. It's a visual and olfactory experience, with stunning sound effects and visuals that make you feel immersive. The dome-like cinema transports you through the most iconic landscapes and cultures of different countries, making the waiting time worth it.

Before experiencing the project, you will watch a five-minute safety guide video to lay the foundation for the premise of the story, and then you will be ready to follow the eagle grandmother to explore the mysteries of nature.

It is recommended that you sit in the first row, otherwise there will be a row of feet blocking the top of the screen, which will somewhat affect the visual experience.

By Heart Realm |

Fly Over the Horizon is an amazing experience! A magical grandma transforms into an eagle and takes you soaring through the skies, showcasing the world's beauty. At the start of the ride, your chair launches into mid-air and begins soaring. World landmarks featured include: the Alps, Greenland, the African Savannah, the Sydney Opera House, Black Swan Castle in Germany, the Great Wall, the Pyramids, the Taj Mahal, the Fiji Islands, the Grand Canyon in the United States, Iguazú Falls in Argentina, the Eiffel Tower at night, and Shanghai's Pudong district.

The dome's 4K resolution surpasses VR's clarity. The chair gently sways up and down, and the breeze blows in front of you, giving you the illusion of flying, complete with scents that complement the scenery.

I've flown over the Great Barrier Reef before, and it felt exactly like this! It was so immersive! Highly recommended!

By Aijue Meilan |

I recommend everyone to sit in the first row for a better view. I waited in line for four hours to shoot, and it would be a shame not to see it. The effect is very good. It is the most popular project, no doubt about it.

By yukichrist |

There were really so many people. You can feel it from the picture below. This is the crowd queuing outside. The queue was dozens of meters long. We went in directly from the fast lane, so it took 20 minutes to actually experience the project, because the number of people who can experience this project each time is limited. If I remember correctly, there were 6-7 people in a row, and a total of 6 rows, so there were only about 40 people experiencing it at a time, and the waiting time was long.

As for Soar Over the Horizon, I think you'll never truly experience the thrill unless you try it. The glasses-free 5D effect is incredible. Compared to the 3D movies we usually see, they're just so weak. Disney's 5D experience, with its glasses-free design and controlled seats, lets you soar over the horizon in minutes, taking you to deserts, glaciers, Egypt, Thailand, and other locations around the world to experience the diverse and captivating scenery of this magnificent planet. It's like wearing a flight suit, immersing you in the action, without the feeling of being inside. After watching it, I was like, convinced or not, why is it so impressive? Why are there so many people lining up? It makes perfect sense.

If you have to find a reason to go to Disneyland, I think it's to open my eyes. I originally went there just to accompany my children, but it really shocked me a lot.

By District 7 Lele |

When all the tourists are seated, the seats will rise to mid-air and soar in the sky like a thunderbird, traveling around the world.

Tell the staff that you want to sit in the first row and they will arrange it for you. I won’t spoil it, keep it a secret and experience it yourself.

By Black Horse |

We walked along the dark and winding road and waited in line for an hour and a half before finally arriving at the entrance of the observatory of the Yabaili tribe. We listened to the safety instructions and were finally about to begin our wonderful journey of flying over the top of the world. We were so excited and lucky to be sitting in the first row and not have to look at other people's feet (the second time I entered the park to play "Over the Horizon" I also sat in the first row. I was lucky, there was nothing I could do).

By Saki is hardworking and brave |

We were relegated to a small cubicle to watch TV, where a witch explained the instructions, but I was completely immersed in the show. As Shanghai Disney's flagship attraction, I was fully alert and eagerly listening. Soaring Over the Horizon involves ascending high in a chair, viewing various scenes projected on a giant screen: savannahs (accompanied by the fragrance of earth and flowers), deserts (accompanied by strong winds), the Eiffel Tower, and so on. It's like traveling around the world. The unpleasant part was that sitting in the middle level meant I could see the feet of people above me, and I could see many arcs on the screen that looked like longitude and latitude lines on a globe. It was so distracting that I had to force myself to ignore them. As for the scenery, the Eiffel Tower was the most exciting for me. I'd been there before, and it felt like I was there again. It was quite exciting. However, unfamiliar scenes, like a waterfall, were a bit dull.

By Yi Lai |

If I were to rank the order of attractions at Disney, Soar Over the Horizon would be second only to Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron: Skywalker, and it would definitely be in the top three without any pressure.

I've experienced many similar projects, but I never expected that they could win—completely win—in hardware. Hardware is something you can get if you're willing to spend money...

The coordination of special effects and plot is very fascinating. After a few minutes of experiencing the project, it feels like you have really traveled around the world. It is really all-encompassing, interesting and informative.

One of the must-do attractions at Shanghai Disneyland, don't miss it~

By Muzizi |

Because we had FP, we waited for more than ten minutes before it was our turn and we happened to sit in the first row.

When you walk in, watch a short introductory video first. You can take note of the points it will pass through, because there will be no explanation in the video, and we, who are geography illiterate, have to rely on guessing.

The starry sky is particularly beautiful wherever you walk.

It has multiple rows of seats like a lift. The first row is 12 meters high and the second row is eight meters. You can play with your mobile phone. It is very stable, but you must hold on tightly. If you fall, you will be smashed to pieces.

At the beginning of the film, you transform into a Thunderbird and fly through beautiful scenery from around the world. The scene changes can be a bit abrupt, which might give you a slight scare, but the ride is generally very stable, and the vibrations won't affect your bag at all. So it's pretty safe. There was a girl in our row who kept screaming, which is a bit scary if you're afraid of heights.

Because it is a holographic projection, it is difficult to imagine how high your feet are. It feels like you are on the ground floor, but it is actually 12 meters high. Our friend sits on the outside and can see the real ground. If you have acrophobia, you can try to choose the third row.

I think the overall performance is pretty good. It has a completely different style from Pirates of the Caribbean. This one is about appreciating global scenery, while Pirates of the Caribbean is a story about personal experience. They are completely different styles, so it is hard to say which one is better or worse. I think this one is still worth it, but if I have to wait in line for three hours, I won't be willing to do that.

By Baby elephant flying |

The restaurant is close to the horizon, and with my Gold FP, I was able to get into the fast lane, much to the dismay of the 180-minute queue. There were three rows of seats, and the guide had suggested trying to negotiate a first-row seat. Thanks to my prayers, we were lucky enough to be the first in the first row.

Experience: A great visual experience. Although some people say it is boring, the ability to travel to various parts of the world in person is still quite attractive to geography enthusiasts.

Tip: Try to enter the park early to grab this FP, otherwise it feels a bit not worth it to spend 180 minutes queuing for it.

By Smile |

A must-see attraction is Soar Over the Horizon! Experience the breathtaking scenery of the world from atop mountains to the edge of the ocean, dancing with elephants and leaping with giant whales. It's breathtaking! Even if you film the entire experience with your phone, all you'll have is a video. The thrill of soaring is so visceral that you absolutely must immerse yourself in the experience for it to last.

Once inside, there was a 5D movie. It was amazing, amazing, amazing, and incredibly realistic. I think Shanghai Disneyland is better than Tokyo and Hong Kong Disneyland, specifically because of the light and shadow effects. This is my favorite attraction, right up there with Tron Lightcycle. I've always dreamed of traveling the world, and I was instantly thrilled.

When I open the app, I often see queues for this attraction that are over 165 minutes long. It's almost never less than that throughout the day! It makes me think this must be the most fun, but the queues are so boring! And they often don't move! It's really frustrating! We still haven't even entered the park when it closes. After entering, we even read a brief introduction. The long queues have completely ruined the fun of this attraction. Once inside, you just sit suspended in a chair and watch a round-screen movie about traveling around the world.

For those who've longed for a bird's-eye view of the world or soared through the skies, this dream will come true, allowing you to embark on an unprecedented, around-the-world flight. Even someone with a fear of heights found it thrilling; it's truly a family-friendly experience. Waiting time: This is the first experience after entering the park in the morning, and the waiting time is approximately 20 minutes.

When entering the park, I recommend heading directly to Soar Over the Horizon to queue, as most of the time, it's impossible to get a spot in the park. Once the crowds start to gather, the lines tend to be around 180 minutes, and this stretches until closing time. I personally waited in line for 165 minutes, completely utterly exhausted. I felt incredibly energetic before the line, but my spirits gradually drained away during the wait, and by the end of the ride, I was completely drained. However, Soar Over the Horizon is truly worth it, and the visuals are truly stunning. I won't spoil the details here, but I highly recommend it!

This is the most popular attraction in Shanghai Disneyland, and it has the longest queues. If you don’t have an express pass, it is normal to wait in line for two hours.

Before lining up to enter the venue, there's a video introduction that also has a storyline. Inside, bags can be placed under seats. Once you've fastened your seatbelt, the seats in a row will rise into the air. The rows of seats are staggered at different heights so they won't interfere with each other.

Soaring Over the Horizon uses a naked-eye 4D effect to take you to appreciate architectural landscapes around the world with the visual experience of flying in the air, such as the Arctic, the Himalayas, Turkey, the Great Wall of Beijing, the Taj Mahal in India, Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, the Sydney Opera House, Niagara Falls, the Maldives... the Eiffel Tower, and finally back to the beautiful night view of Shanghai. The effect is very good, and you feel like you are flying in the air throughout the whole process. The switching of shots and scenes is also very good, and the connection is very natural. It is definitely worth experiencing.

The first thing to do when entering Disney is to link the ticket on the APP and grab the FP for Soar Over the Horizon. Soar Over the Horizon is so popular that the FP I grabbed at 8:30 was already in the time period of 16:45-19:30. But it was also very funny because the waiting time for this project was no less than 60 minutes.

Soaring Over the Horizon is definitely overhyped. The queue time has never been less than 120 minutes since entering the park. So I highly recommend that you grab this FP first. I think you will regret it if you queue for two hours for this project. In my opinion, this project is the one that is most unworthy of its reputation. Of course, it may also be because the expectations are too high. I think it is not as good as Fantawild. Both take you to see the beautiful scenery of the world, but Fantawild has introductions and interactions, while this one just takes you on a tour. My friend said she thought the Happy Valley one is better than this one. At this time, I was thinking that it was fortunate that it was FP. If I had waited for two hours, I would be so upset (。•́︿•̀。) But I still have to say that if you have not been to Fantawild or Happy Valley, I still recommend you to come and see it, because if you see it for the first time without any comparison, you will think this one is also very good.

P.S. If possible, try to sit in the first row. There are three rows in total, and although there is a height difference, if you sit in the second or third row and look up, you can still see the feet of the people in the upper row.

We grabbed the 7:55 PM FP for Soaring Over the Horizon, so it was quick and there wasn't much of a queue. The rocks at the entrance are beautiful, and even more stunning at night when the lights are on. The special effects are amazing, and it takes you all over the world. The only downside is that the time is too short.

Even though I had a FP card, I still had to queue (look up at the top while waiting for a surprise!). After 25 minutes, it was our turn (of course, the first row is the best seat, but unfortunately I didn't get one... The other rows behind me could see the front row's feet while playing, which was a bit distracting, but it was okay). Horizon was my favorite of all the rides, super cool. The whole process took 5 minutes.

I was really shocked by playing Over the Horizon. The visual experience was great. After we came out, both children asked to play it again.

By Little Horn Mother |

The express ticket line is 20 minutes long, or 3 hours long. Three minutes and you'll be flying around the world... Why is it so popular?

By Xiaojie83926 |

There was a long queue. We entered quickly with our FP cards and almost didn't have to wait. We were in the first row. Warm reminder: You must be in the first row when flying over the horizon, otherwise you will see the feet of the people in front of you in the next few rows. Hehe

I am also really looking forward to it, because I have never experienced it before.

It turned out to be really shocking and jaw-dropping. The child was saying "wow" the whole time.

After finishing the most amazing project, the whole Disney trip was worthwhile! I sighed at how big the world is, what a magical country~

In just a few minutes, you can take a tour of the world's beautiful scenery, appreciate and feel it... No spoilers, just give some expectations to those who have not been there

I booked a fast pass for Soar Over the Horizon from 8:40-9:40, but by the time I got there, I had already been waiting in line for 105 minutes, which shows how popular it was. Seeing the long line, it felt so good to be able to enter directly through the fast lane!

The field of view is wider than the naked eye can see, and I was flying from a chair the entire time, giving me a completely Superman-like perspective. The elephants were blowing up sand, and my son was so scared that he closed his eyes. The effect was really good.

"My dream is to travel around the world." When you hear this, does it fill you with the same joy I do? I believe this is why "Over the Horizon" is so popular. If you haven't experienced it yourself, it's hard to imagine how a non-adrenaline-fueled, family-friendly activity can be so refreshing and exciting.

By Timbal |

I have to say that this park’s most popular project is really not a joke. At around 1:40 pm, the queue time had exceeded 150 minutes, and suddenly I felt my own cleverness.

By using the fp, you can take the dedicated channel and avoid the long queues. You can enter the project in no time. Singles may be one step faster than non-single people (yes, I'm talking about single people like me).

I have to say that Soar Over the Horizon is really awesome. If you are afraid of heights, I suggest you take it slow.

Soaring Over the Horizon in Adventure Isle is a must-do. Its popularity is evident in the long waiting times.

Waiting time: 120 minutes (for reference only)

Sitting on it can take you through mountains, rivers and lakes, and visit scenic spots in various countries. It’s very interesting!

It is an activity suitable for all ages and is also the most popular. I got the FAST PASS at around 8 o'clock in the morning.

Must play!!

I walked to the Soaring Horizon entrance around 8:20 AM and waited in line for 165 minutes. Yeah. Yeah.

You know, the queue for each project is from the outside to the inside. When you get to the inside and feel that you are almost there, there are still 18 serpentine lines waiting for you. The wall shows that there are still 115 meters to go, and you have to wait in line for another hour. The queue is so long that it makes you doubt your life~

It's time to enter the project~ There is an animation that will tell you some precautions. Many people who haven't done the guide said that they won't know how to do it, so let's just watch it and end it. Hahahaha no~ After watching the staff, they will explain some matters and then go in. I was the first one in line and I was so excited when I saw the door open that I rushed in, but was later called back by the staff. It was embarrassing.

When I was making the guide, many travelogues said that this was the most popular project in Disneyland. It was really the most popular. When my companions and I went to other projects for the second time in the evening, the queue for this project was still 120 minutes. I personally feel that it is not worth it for me to queue for 2 hours+

Experience:

Luckily, my companion and I sat in the first row. It was a naked-eye project, about 5 minutes, and we traveled around the world in a chair.

The Milky Way is incredibly beautiful at first, but once you get on the plane and start to penetrate the clouds, the weightlessness makes you feel like you're soaring through the clouds! You can see the polar glaciers, Sydney Harbour, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall, Shanghai's Lujiazui, Hong Kong, and so much more.

I personally like exciting projects. Parents with children can experience it. The special effects are still great!

By Rice 1984 |

It was cool once I entered the hall, and there was a quiz competition to relieve my boredom. At this time, a voice rang out, which made me laugh, "Hello, tourists, when queuing, any behavior of not queuing in order with reasons such as "my friend is in front, my family is in front, my child is in front", etc. will be regarded as queue cutting." I think this is a Chinese characteristic, so there is no need to translate it for foreign friends.

After a long wait, we were taken to an observation room, which is similar to the one in Universal Studios. But after all, we are in the same territory and the language is common. Not only that, even in the video, the actors are still working very hard to lip-sync Chinese. This is their professionalism.

This should be the highlight in many people's minds. After all, it is so popular that the waiting time can reach more than 150 minutes every day.

Before playing it, I had a biased opinion. After playing TRON LightRunner Power Run, I couldn't imagine anything else could surpass it. But it turns out I was just too naive. It's truly, truly amazing, and in a completely different way from TRON LightRun Power Run! If TRON LightRun Power Run had you exclaiming "Ah..." non-stop, then playing Horizon Zero Dawn will have you exclaiming "Wow..." non-stop! You absolutely must play it! Honestly, Horizon Zero Dawn is slightly less replayable than TRON LightRun Power Run, so make sure you fully experience it on your first try.

Soaring Over the Horizon is a glasses-free 3D ride. Some guides recommend sitting in the front row, but I personally think it's the same regardless of the ride. At the start of the ride, all seats are aligned, so the experience is the same. Before entering the attraction, we stopped in the waiting area, where a Thunderbird lady appeared, instructed everyone to position themselves according to the ground, and offered some reminders.

The tickets for Flying Over the Horizon were sold out when we got our second FP pass that morning, so my friend and I didn't hesitate to buy the single-entry exclusive pass for Flying Over the Horizon for 150 yuan each. It turned out to be worth it, after all, while everyone else waited in line for more than two hours, we got in in just five minutes.

By Erribati |

We used a rotation system to try out Over the Horizon, Captain Jack's Amazing Adventure, Roaring Mountain Rafting, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Over the Horizon was the most impressive experience, using high-tech, glasses-free VR to soar through the sky. It was a dreamlike experience. Even waiting two or three hours was worth it (though you might only need three rounds of Honor of Kings). There were so many surprises you can't capture in photos; you have to see them in person to appreciate them. While one of us was waiting in line, the other with our daughter didn't have to stop and could enjoy smaller rides like Crystal Voyage. Based on the queue times on the app, we were pretty much on the same page.

By Frozen Lemon Tea |

This is the most popular attraction, and I highly recommend grabbing a spot first, as waiting in line will likely leave you feeling dreadful. It's not a thrilling ride, but the experience is fantastic. It's like a naked-eye 4D ride, where you can travel around the world from a chair.

By Meatball Sauce |

Soaring Over the Horizon 4-star recommendation

Sit on the rows of chairs and enjoy the changing scenery from above, taking in the breathtaking views of the world from above. This is an attraction where you can grab a FP. By the time I got here, the daily quota had already been taken, so I had to wait in line for over an hour, making it the longest queue of the entire day.

By Great Saint |

Soar Over the Horizon is, undeniably, the most popular attraction at Disney (bar none). I won't reveal the specifics, but it's a 5D tour of the world from a bird's-eye view. It's fun and exciting, but the ride is incredibly short. If you're looking for a similar ride, I recommend Fantawild, which has a similar experience with fewer crowds and a longer duration. (I went there a few years ago; I'm not sure if it's still there.)

By Maaaaria |

Luckily, I had a front-row middle seat! The Milky Way view at the beginning was absolutely stunning! Then, as I ascended into the clouds, the weightless feeling made me feel like I was soaring through the air! We journeyed across the globe, seeing beautiful cities: polar glaciers, Sydney Harbor, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall, Shanghai's Lujiazui, and so much more! It was worth recording the entire trip!

By sigh. |

This was the ride that fell short of my expectations the most. Sitting in the front row, right in the middle, gave me a great view and a chance to see the various sights, but the experience wasn't as immersive as the one I had at Changchun Film and Television City. Maybe it was because of the children... It was my first FP, and I didn't wait in line, so I didn't feel bad about it. But if you'd waited an hour or two for this ride, it would have been incredibly bad value for money...

By Andy |

Actually, it is just a dome movie, but it is really good. It feels like sitting outside an airplane. Since I have a pass card, I only have to wait for about 5 minutes before entering.

By Where are the fairy's peanuts? |

Soar Over the Horizon was the first game we tried, but we still had to wait in line for about 40 minutes. The 5D effect was like flying across the world in a spaceship, from Mount Kilimanjaro to the African savannah, the Sydney Opera House, the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, the beaches of Fiji, and so on. The aromas and fragrances mixed in, making it feel like you were truly there. For me, this visual feast was truly amazing, and I really want to experience it again if possible.

By Xiao Wanzi 🍡 |

As someone who has visited many theme parks, I think this project is a pitfall. The waiting time is the longest in Disney, so it gives people the wrong impression that it is the most popular and fun, which results in the fast pass tickets for this project being the first to be snapped up.

Soaring Over the Horizon is actually a 4D wraparound movie. The entire run time is five minutes, plus three minutes of setup time, so it's quite time-consuming. The screen quality is truly amazing, much better than Happy Valley, given that it was newly installed last year. However, the content is completely uninteresting; it's just a tour of famous tourist attractions from around the world, worse than the Animal World show on CCTV-1... incredibly boring! More importantly, the seating arrangement is poorly thought out. While the seats vacate during the movie, those in the lower row can clearly see the feet of those in the upper row, which is quite distracting! Of course, it's a great way to bring children along, as it helps them learn more.

Waiting time: 90-120 minutes.

Soaring Over the Horizon is a flying tour project that takes you around the world. The destination is Shanghai, China. The visual effect is amazing. If conditions permit, it is recommended to sit in the first row. The ascent is high, and most importantly, there will be no passengers' feet overhead. When we first checked it out, we sat in the first row and the experience was 100%. When we checked it out again, we sat in the third row, and the feet of passengers from two rows above our heads were very messy.

By Forgetful |

An absolutely classic project, it is best to get a fast ticket, otherwise it is normal to queue for an hour or two.

By Snow Han |

After entering, you'll find a cinema-like screening room with three rows of seats. Try to choose the first row or the middle seat. Place your belongings in the storage compartment under the seat, fasten your seatbelt, and get ready for a visual feast.

The naked eye 3D effect is so good that I am at a loss for words! It is simply too good to describe. It is so beautiful that I can't bear to leave!

It is not recommended to record the whole process, as you will miss the wonderful moments. It is worth it even if you wait for an hour.

By Starry Sky Mono |

The first big project upon entering the door.

After going through all the formalities, just run as fast as you can along the shortest route to fly over the horizon. There are very few people at this time. As long as you run fast, you will be among the first group of players.

The ceiling of the waiting passage is made of LED screen with a starry sky pattern. When everyone is ready, the three rows of machines below will quickly rise to the middle of the entire theater.

Below is a video clip of a flight over the horizon, showing scenic spots around the world with excellent special effects: Antarctica, Neuschwanstein Castle, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Great Wall, the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, and Hong Kong.

Personal experience: It is actually a 4D movie, but the special effects are great. It shows tourists scenic spots from all over the world. It is well-made, and there are water vapor and cold wind to set off the characteristics of the attraction. It is suitable for all ages and is the most popular project in Shanghai Disney.

Stars: 5 stars

By Xiaolian |

Flying over the horizon is similar to a VR experience, where everyone sits side by side in seats like in a movie theater, but the seats are raised and suspended in the air, and there is a slight vibration.

We soared rapidly into the air, a sea of clouds appearing on the screen before us. As the music played, the clouds dissipated, revealing the Great Wall, Shanghai's nightscape, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Sydney Opera House, the Eiffel Tower, the African savannah—one after another, those distant scenes appeared before our eyes. It was as if we had superpowers, soaring across the Earth, traveling to any destination we desired.

I could hear my friends exclaiming in surprise. It was worth waiting in line for dozens of minutes just for these few minutes.

By Niu Hulu--Xu'er |

So realistic. I remember when I went to the Taj Mahal in India 🇮🇳, there was still a waft of fragrance 👍🏻

By qingting19 |

This attraction was the highlight of our trip to Disneyland. We didn't get a free pass, so we waited over three hours in the afternoon when it was packed, setting a new record for our longest wait. But Soar Over the Horizon was truly worth the wait. The 5D dome visuals, the wind and the fragrance, made riding in the flying machine feel like traveling around the world's famous attractions. We sat in the second row, and we could see the feet of people in the first row. I'll definitely do it again next time. When we exited, posters on the wall showed us where in the world the beautiful scenes we'd seen were located. Five-star recommendation.

By Nina's Little World |

This is a favorite among most people and one of Disney's three most popular rides. The lines are two to three hours long, but the ride itself takes only a few minutes. Fast passes can be obtained in advance. There are height restrictions, so be aware if you're traveling with children. The ride has seatbelts, but it's not scary, just creates a sense of height. I wonder how those with height problems would feel. Perhaps because I previously rode the similar "Flying Over Hubei" ride at Wuhan Wanda Movie Park, I wasn't as enthralled with it. Sitting in a chair and gazing at the world's scenery with your feet dangling in the air is a unique way to relax after a busy day at Disney. As I counted the places I saw, my desire to travel the world began to stir again.
