Located on bustling Huaihai Road, the former residence of Soong Ching Ling in Shanghai is a tranquil place that bears witness to the vicissitudes of history. It not only preserves traces of Soong Ching Ling's life and work, but also epitomizes modern Chinese history. Strolling through the grounds, each artifact tells the legendary story and enduring spirit of this great woman.
Respectable man, if you are in Wukang Building, please come and have a look.
Among the many former residences of Soong Ching Ling, this one is not the best, but it is the most approachable.
There is a large lawn behind the villa of the former residence of the mother of the nation. It is very beautiful.
With respect, I was very educated.
The first attraction on Wukang Road was closed when I went there on Monday. I plan to go there again next time.
Sun Yat-sen's former residence in Shanghai is located at No. 7 Xiangshan Road, a small European-style house. It is very beautiful and coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution. The ticket here is only half price for the former residence of Soong Ching Ling, so we also visited the former residence of Soong Ching Ling on the way.
Not far from the Wukang Building is the Soong Ching Ling Memorial Hall. Photography is not allowed inside the building. The bedrooms, study, reception room, etc. display items used in the past. There is also a garage with two cars that were used in the past. The back garden is not big, with a large lawn, some trees and flowers.
It costs 20 yuan for adults to enter, and children are free
The former residence is well-maintained and has preserved the original appearance of Sun Yat-sen and his wife's daily life and office items. Downstairs is the living room and dining room, and upstairs is the study, bedroom, a medium-sized reception room and a large balcony. The only drawback is that there is a 20 yuan entrance fee.
The 2020 Beijing International Airport Opening Ceremony was held at the 41st Beijing International Airport in Beijing. The 2020 Beijing International Airport Opening Ceremony was held at the 41st Beijing International Airport in Beijing. The 2022 Beijing Olympics was a very good start for the Chinese people. It was a very good start for the Chinese people. It was a very good start for the Chinese people.
A European-style villa, all made of wood.
It was the place where Song Qingling lived and worked for a long time, and it was also an important place for her to carry out state affairs.
An old villa, a free youth education base.
It's very quiet and peaceful. Next to it is the Normandy Apartment, which has the flavor of old Shanghai.
On Huaihai Road, if it weren't for the signage, the fence and iron gate on the side of the road would be hard to spot. I would have thought it was an ordinary villa with a statue of Soong Ching Ling in front of it.
The Soong Ching Ling Former Residence is located at 1843 Huaihai Middle Road, Shanghai. Soong Ching Ling worked and lived here for 15 years, from 1948 to 1963, and also held various state affairs events. It is a National Cultural Heritage Site and a 4A scenic spot. It includes the main building and front and back gardens. It is currently closed for renovations (January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2018) and will reopen next year. Take Metro Line 10 to Shanghai Library or Line 11 to Jiaotong University Station, and walk from there. Admission is 20 yuan.
I happened to visit her former residence while I was there, and I realized I didn't know anything about Soong Ching Ling. She was truly outstanding.
Located at 1843 Huaihai Middle Road, the three-story, off-white building is flanked by gardens in front and back, surrounded by over 30 century-old camphor trees, lush and evergreen year-round. The main building boasts a simple and elegant interior, while the garden offers an elegant and tranquil setting. This was where Soong Ching Ling lived and worked for many years.
Architecture is a witness to human history. Every ancient building has its own extraordinary past, and every former residence of a celebrity carries the accumulation of history. During the summer vacation, the members of the third (7) lollipop squad of Shangnan Second Village Primary School in Pudong New Area took "Visiting the Former Residences of Celebrities" as the theme and carried out a series of exploration activities including "visiting the former residences, making tabloids, and writing about the experience".
On August 13, two teams from the Lollipop Squadron set out one after another and arrived at Soong Ching Ling's former residence on Huaihai Road to trace the great man's footsteps and learn about Grandma Soong Ching Ling's life of struggle.
In Soong Ching Ling's former residence, the team members listened carefully to the tour guide's introduction and gained a preliminary understanding of Grandma Soong's touching and great achievements.
The team members learned that this was where Soong Ching Ling lived the longest in her life and was also an important place for her to conduct state affairs. She often held various state affairs activities at her former residence, met and entertained visiting dignitaries from various countries, and promoted exchanges between China and foreign countries and maintained world peace.
The maternal and child welfare program and external publicity publications she founded were also conceived and planned here. It is most appropriate to describe Grandma Song's life as simple furnishings, a frugal lifestyle, elegant temperament, and a broad mind.
Looking at the place where this kind old man lived, the team members felt infinite admiration from the bottom of their hearts.
The team members all expressed that they should inherit Grandma Song’s revolutionary spirit and that they also need this spirit of struggle in our lives and studies.
Although the activity has ended, the team members' exploration and thinking will continue. They recorded their thoughts and ideas by making tabloids and writing their experiences, and used this to motivate themselves and spur themselves on with the revolutionary spirit of Grandma Soong Ching Ling.
The shop was closed in 2018. It was a wasted trip if it was just for renovation.
[Soong Ching Ling's Former Residence] - Jiaotong University Station on Metro Lines 10 and 11. Visited on the last day before renovations in 2018. Tickets are ¥20. The security guard enthusiastically explained the history, guided the tour, and encouraged photography. Shoe covers are required to enter the main building, and photography is prohibited. The soft carpeted floor provides a complete restoration of the original living environment, a testament to the utmost respect for the cultural relics. The story of Soong Ching Ling's English business card, "Mrs. Sun Yat-sen," and the exhibition showcase the deep love and mutual support between the couple.
Quiet, beautiful, and well-protected, silently watching the life of a legendary woman.
The whole year of 2018 is under maintenance, don't go there in vain...
The former residence of Soong Ching Ling will be closed from January 1 to December 31, 2018 for renovations.
It's good, you can feel the house of that era, feel the atmosphere, take a look, and there are exhibitions.
Rustic, clean, and very well maintained, it's a great place for those seeking a story.
A renowned patriotic education center, the former residence comprises a private residence and a museum, covering a total area of over 4,300 square meters. The residence is divided into a front garden, a main building, and a back garden. The main structure is a three-story, creamy white, boat-shaped, Western-style building with a floor area of 700 square meters. The courtyard is lush with trees and green grass. Even today, you wouldn't be able to afford such a residence.
I feel it is not as good as the one in Beijing, the environment is average.
I visited Soong Ching Ling's former residence and read about her life story, which was really great. I also visited the small house where she lived. Everyone was given a pair of shoe covers before entering. It looked big from the outside, but when I walked in, I found that it was not the case. However, it was still very exquisite.
I used to know more about Soong May-ling, but after visiting Soong Ching-ling's former residence, I discovered that both sisters were people who knew how to live and had good taste.
I just passed by it while walking, and the exterior wall is also very Shanghai architectural style
I can vaguely imagine what Soong Ching Ling looked like when she was alive. It was a great place to live, entertain guests, and have a sense of history.
It's a pity that I didn't go in to visit this time. I saw it on the bus. It's on the Xujiahui campus of Jiaotong University, a few dozen meters away from the east gate.
The ticket is 20, and there is a museum of Ms. Soong Ching Ling, which contains an introduction to Ms. Soong's life, major events, etc. The former residence is very beautiful, and the back garden is also beautiful.
The former residence of Soong Ching Ling in Shanghai is a small and exquisite villa.
A very nice place. I was particularly impressed by Ms. Song's beautiful handwriting in English. The interior design of the house is beautiful, from the furnishings to the staircase, cabinets, and even the bathroom and bathtub. Even after so much time, you can still feel the luxury of the time. The back garden is large, and I especially love the terrace connecting the house and the garden. A place worth visiting.
Come to learn about history and express respect for our ancestors. I recommend this and Wukang Road for a stroll, it's good.
Commonly known as the International Cemetery, it was later changed to the former residence of Soong Ching Ling. The environment is very good.
The former residence of Soong Ching Ling is on Huaihai Middle Road, and the ticket price is 20.
The interior isn't large. To the right of the entrance is a statue of Soong Ching Ling, and behind it is the Soong Ching Ling Museum. It displays numerous photographs and artifacts of Soong Ching Ling. While this exhibition focuses on a different topic than the Soong Ching Ling Memorial Hall at the International Cemetery, it's still quite informative to see both. Particularly impressive here are a handwritten letter from Li Zongren and a painting by Soong May-ling titled "Fu Shou Quan."
After leaving the memorial hall, you will find the former residence. Song Qingling lived here for more than ten years and met many celebrities here.
You have to enter through the side door, and there are pigeon houses and garages in the yard.
As usual, you are not allowed to take photos inside the building and you must wear shoe covers.
The building has two floors. The first floor is the living room and dining room. There is also a painting of two horses by Xu Beihong next to the stairs, which you may miss if you are not careful.
The second floor was the bedroom, office and the nanny's bedroom. The nanny was later buried next to the tomb of Soong Ching Ling's parents.
There's a large lawn behind the building, but unfortunately you can't walk in. The lawn is surrounded by a circle of camphor trees. It's very beautiful.
This is the most beautiful place I have ever been to in Shanghai.
My friend's son just learned about the former residence of Soong Ching Ling in his textbook. We went to visit it together. The place is not very big, but the interior environment is quiet. The furnishings in the former residence reveal a simple and low-key luxury. It is very touching to take a quiet walk.
Beautiful house and beautiful calligraphy, the residence of the Mother of the Nation.
The mother of the nation, the three sisters of the Soong family, a piece of modern history, is worth seeing. The plane trees that fell in the field were so beautiful!
This is a wonderful place. The memorial hall is divided into several sections, with detailed explanations by volunteers. I was particularly impressed by Mr. Song's beautiful English handwriting, his distinguished family background, and his dedication to the revolutionary cause and later children's charity. The interior of the former residence is beautiful, from the furnishings to the staircase, cabinets, and even the bathroom and bathtub. Even after so many years, you can still feel the luxury of the time. The back garden is large, and I especially love the terrace connecting the house and the garden. It's a place worth visiting.
A very good exhibition hall! You can learn a lot of historical knowledge.
It is worth noting that people who are afraid of birds should be careful.
Very close to Jiaotong University, very good, full of historical and cultural atmosphere
It's worth watching. You can also see a marriage contract. It's great.
A quiet courtyard, towering camphor trees, lush greenery... a touch of tranquility in the bustling Shanghai... worth a visit
#Song Qingling's Former Residence# Sometimes you have to learn about culture. Soong Ching Ling and Sun Yat-sen's English is truly impressive, with their beautiful cursive calligraphy. I think you'd need to wear a Mao suit or cheongsam here. My wife's living room is truly elegant. The floor-to-ceiling windows, the sunlight, and the sofa create an elegant atmosphere. Countless celebrities have sat on the sofa—this is what they call the importance of connections. Open: Monday to Sunday, 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM. Remember not to go too late. Address: 1803 Huaihai Middle Road, Changning District.
Wandering around, we came to the former residence of Soong Ching Ling. My friends were surprised to see these. They were moved by the scenes of the Republic of China period, imagining how they received foreign guests and imagined the scenes of life here. There were also volunteers to explain.
I went there around 4pm, but there was no information about not being able to enter at that time. I just bought a ticket. It was open until 4:30pm, but no one chased me away even then.
As soon as you enter the door, you can feel the unusual atmosphere. There are guards guarding it. After all, it is the former residence of the mother of the country.
To the right is a full-length statue and a museum, followed by a dovecote and a garage. The house in front is the residence. It's very European-style and functional. While not as tall and spacious as it is today, the rooms are exquisite and beautiful, with many decorative paintings and ornaments. Behind the house is a 2,000-square-meter garden filled with old trees, which is quite impressive.
If I have time, I would like to take a closer look.
Elegant and generous, surrounded by camphor trees, the former residence of the Queen Mother lives up to its reputation
Before visiting Soong Ching Ling's former residence, I often borrowed and read books at the Shanghai Library, also on Huaihai Middle Road. My first visit was in winter, and the warm afternoon sun was a delight. The streets were quiet, with few cars passing by. I've always believed in the existence of aura, and because I felt the aura around the Shanghai Library was particularly positive, I frequented it.
Later, I found on the map that Soong Ching Ling's former residence was not far away, so I walked there from the Shanghai Library. It turned out that this road was full of garden houses, where dignitaries lived.
Nearby are the former residences of Ba Jin, Huang Xing, and Chiang Ching-kuo. Not far away, No. 11 Dongping Road is Song Ziwen’s favorite garden house.
Directions: Shanghai Library Station, Metro Line 10, Exit 1 or 2
The memorial hall is located on Huaihai Middle Road, a beautiful street in itself and well worth a stroll. Upon entering the memorial hall, you'll see a white statue of Soong Ching Ling. Behind the statue is the Soong Ching Ling Cultural Relics Museum, housing over 15,000 of her relics. Free volunteer tours are offered at the residence every hour; please check the notices at the entrance for details. The back garden is also stunning—a must-see!
For those who have visited Beijing and specifically visited Shanghai, there are more memories than scenery.
If you like history, don't miss this place~ You can take a look
Located on Huaihai Road, this elegant private residence offers free guided tours. Shoe covers are required inside the residence. There are also exhibitions on both sides about Soong Ching Ling's life.
It keeps records of everything about Soong Ching Ling, and the volunteer guides are very passionate and good
Soong Ching Ling was a very great woman who made great contributions to the liberation of New China. Although her former residence is not big, it is elegant and generous and is definitely worth a visit.
Historical buildings worth visiting Historical buildings worth visiting Historical buildings worth visiting
The Soong Ching Ling Former Residence is located on Huaihai Middle Road, across from the Wukang Building. This was Soong Ching Ling's longtime residence and home, and also served as an important venue for her state affairs. On the left side of the entrance are souvenirs and a graphic exhibition featuring Soong Ching Ling's life and deeds. When I visited, a volunteer asked me to fill out a questionnaire and, after completing it, gave me a small gift: a collection of stories about Soong Ching Ling's cultural relics compiled by the Former Residence Memorial Hall. During my visit, a student-looking volunteer explained the stories, which was very informative. Admission is 20 yuan per adult and 10 yuan per student.
Just beside Ba Jin’s former residence, Wukang Building!!!
What a pleasant surprise! I hadn't planned to go there. I ended up passing by and there were volunteers from Xiamen University explaining it. I really enjoyed it. It has a lot of historical charm.
It can be called a small foreign affairs museum with reasonable ticket prices. The security guards inside the former residence are rather fierce and even yell at children, which is not worthy of such a harmonious former residence of Grandma Song.
Shocking! The guestbook at the Mother of the Nation's Former Residence has multiple languages, including English and Korean.
I went there on April 30, 2012. It was very quiet.
On Huaihai Middle Road. Not crowded. Quiet. Note that photography is not allowed at her residence, but is permitted at the memorial hall.
My understanding of Soong Ching Ling was originally limited to her being the wife of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. After visiting, I learned a lot. A great person is truly a great person.
The Soong sisters are women I've always admired! Visiting Soong Ching Ling's former residence, the museum displays many of her handwritten manuscripts, most of which are in English! Back then, those who studied abroad were truly exceptional!
An extraordinary woman once lived in this exquisite house.
It's good to see the former residences of celebrities and learn about their life stories.
Remembering our ancestors, it seems as if history is being replayed in a movie.
I love Soong Ching Ling so much, so I like her very much. The place where she lives is very elegant, just like her, elegant and beautiful!
Across from the bookstore is the former residence of Soong Ching Ling. Tickets are 10 yuan each. They say they're half price now, but used to be 20 yuan each.
There are many collections in the museum, all of which were collected by Soong Ching Ling at the time, as well as many work-related items.
My previous understanding of history was mostly literal, without any deeper exploration. After reading this, I realized that so-called stories and gossip really shouldn't be all that people need to know.
I really think that Soong Ching Ling is amazing. She knows everything and is actually a professional.
These two cars were the cars of Soong Ching Ling's family at that time, and they are very beautiful.
The main building of Soong Ching Ling's former residence is not accessible due to the pandemic. No wonder the tickets are half price.
There is a super large lawn downstairs, which is very comfortable to sit on and bask in the sun.
In fact, every time I visit the former residence, I have a feeling: the so-called poor life mostly refers to the suffering of the common people, and these dignitaries have always lived a luxurious and exquisite life.
