In 2001, Yanmen Pass was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as one of the fifth batch of national key cultural relic protection sites. The Yanmen Pass Scenic Area is a frontier culture, Great Wall culture, and pass culture tourism area with the historical remains and ruins of the Yanmen Pass military defense system as the main landscape resources.

Yanmen Pass is a very famous pass in history and one of the three passes in Shanxi. This pass has existed since the Warring States Period, and the existing buildings were built in the early Ming Dynasty. The terrain around Yanmen Pass is dangerous, and there is no public transportation from Dai County, and people basically have to walk in the scenic area. In addition to the pass, there are also Guandi Temple, Jingbian Temple and other attractions.
Yanmen Pass is located about 30 kilometers northwest of Dai County, Xinzhou.
It is a pass on the inner Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty.
Together with Ningwu Pass and Pianguan Pass, they are collectively known as the "Outer Three Passes".
Yanmen Pass has been an important pass for the Central Plains dynasty to resist the invasion of nomadic peoples in the north since ancient times.
The earliest history here can be traced back to the Warring States Period when King Wuling of Zhao fought against the Xiongnu here.
The famous Han Dynasty generals Li Guang, Wei Qing and Huo Qubing once led their troops to fight against the Xiongnu here.
During the Northern Song Dynasty, Yanmen Pass became the main battlefield for the confrontation between Song and Liao.
The prototype of the well-known story of the Yang Family Generals happened here
There is also a statue of Yang Liulang in the scenic area.
Yanmen Pass is an important part of the Great Wall of China, a world cultural heritage. It is the ancient pass with the longest history, the most frequent wars, the highest reputation and the widest influence. It is known as the "No. 1 Pass in China". Yanmen Pass consists of three parts: the pass city, the urn city and the siege city. It is a frontier culture, Great Wall culture and pass culture tourist area with the historical remains and ruins of the military defense system of Yanmen Pass as the main landscape resources.
Tickets: 90 yuan/person in peak season (April 1-October 31), 60 yuan/person in off-season, 10 yuan/person for small transportation at Houyaopu entrance (3km round trip). Transportation: Yanmenguan Scenic Area and Daixian Passenger Transport Center (3km north of the railway station, south of G108/New Beijing-Kunming Railway) jointly launched the "Yanmenguan Scenic Area Tourist Through Bus (One Ticket)", which includes the Yanmenguan Scenic Area ticket and the round-trip fare from the county bus station to the south gate of Yanmenguan Scenic Area. The "One Ticket" fare is 60 yuan/person in the off-season, and it should be around 100 yuan/person in the peak season. Due to the construction of Yanxi Road (Daixian-Nanyaopu), the through bus temporarily goes from G208 to Houyaopu entrance. The ticket price for the "One Ticket" purchased at the passenger transport center is 110 yuan/person (after the completion of Yanxi Road, the original entrance fee to Qianyaopu may be reduced to 90-100 yuan/person).
In addition, there may be fewer tourists taking the through bus. Currently, there is only one driver and one car for the tourist through bus (a larger car will be used when there are many people). Only the 7:30 and 13:30 bus departures from the Daixian Passenger Transport Center can be guaranteed, and other departures are difficult to guarantee. After arriving at the scenic spot, the bus driver will negotiate with everyone to determine the return time (before 12:00, if you can't catch this bus, you can take the 13:30 and 16:30 return bus), and leave contact information with each other. The driver's contact number is 13546705796. If you buy tickets online, you don't need to go to the Daixian Passenger Transport Center to buy a ticket for the bus. You can call the driver to agree on the time and place to get on the bus (the round-trip transportation fee is about 50 yuan/person, and the one-way fee is about 30 yuan/person).
"Among the nine passes in the world, Yanmen is the most important one" and "Among the three passes, it is the most important one among the nine passes."
If you don’t reach this point, you cannot understand the shock of the poem.
Yanmen Pass has been a battleground for military strategists since ancient times. Since King Wuling of Zhao adopted the Hu clothing and horse riding, established Yunzhong, Yanmen, and Daijun, and Li Mu was ordered to stay in Yanmen to guard against the Xiongnu, many celebrities have visited this place. Seeing the traces of the past, it seems as if you have passed by these people. Staying here also makes you feel that you are also a part of history.
During the Han Dynasty, Wei Qing, Huo Qubing, Li Guang and others had traveled inside and outside the ancient Yanmen Pass.
Wang Zhaojun went to the frontier to marry a foreign prince. From then on, remote cities were closed at night, cattle and horses roamed the fields, there was no alarm of dogs barking for three generations, and the people had no wars.
The Tang Dynasty poet Li He wrote a poem here - "Song of the Prefect of Yanmen", which depicts the scenery of the border and also outlines the tragedy of the war.
During the Northern Song Dynasty's resistance against the Liao Dynasty, the father and son of the Yang family went out of the country many times. They regarded their lives on the battlefield as their own and regarded the country as their home. The whole family was loyal and brave.
After the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the gradual formation of the territory of China's unified nation, Yanmen Pass gradually lost its strategic position.
Yanmen Pass, ticket price: 90 yuan
Duration: 3-4 hours
Yanmen Pass is a newly built ancient-style scenic spot. The Great Wall is very new, so we can only pay tribute to the warriors who defended our country.
If you want to see the authentic old Great Wall, you have to visit the Guangwu Ming Great Wall next door.
There are two parking lots in the north and south of the scenic area. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the north gate parking lot to Yanmen Pass. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from the south gate, and it is uphill. If you charter a car, the best route should be to enter from the north gate and exit from the south gate, without going back, and the whole way is downhill. If you drive, you can only enter from which gate and exit from which gate. If you want to relax, enter from the north gate, which is closer to the highway exit. There is a sculpture of Yang Jiajiang there, and you can ask for an explanation. Travel agencies generally enter the scenic area from the north gate. The location of the south gate is relatively remote, and there is no explanation, but you can experience the feeling of going out of the frontier in those days. Tourists often enter from the south gate without knowing it, and come out from the north gate. If you want to go back to the south gate, I don’t know if there is a shuttle bus. If not, you can only take a taxi around a mountain. The journey is 30 kilometers and it takes nearly an hour!
"Cold clouds bring flying snow, and the sun sets over Yanmen Pass." Here I borrow Liu Changqing's poem to express my feelings. Although the decision to set off at the last minute made us catch up with the bad road conditions, we were lucky enough to see the snowy faces of Foguang Temple and Yanmen Pass. How many choices in life affect our own destiny? Who can tell whether it is good or bad? Perhaps everything is freely arranged by fate.
Actually, after I came back, I saw an emergency notice on the official account of Yanmen Pass the day before, saying that the park was temporarily closed due to heavy snow, and the notice was sent the next morning that the park was reopened due to good weather. Fortunately, we arrived in the afternoon of the opening day, otherwise we would have missed the opportunity to climb the Great Wall in the snow.
We arrived at the north gate of Yanmen Pass Scenic Area at about 4:30 pm. It was a bit late. We hoped that Yanmen Pass would close later so that we could see it for a while longer.
From the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, take the highway and drive for about an hour to the foot of the Yanmen Pass Great Wall. Then you can take a private car or the scenic area shuttle bus to the pass. Yanmen Pass is an important pass on the Great Wall and is famous for its danger... When we arrived, it was around 4 pm and there were not many tourists. When we entered the pass, there was an antique street on a slope with inns, restaurants and local products... But many shops were closed. I heard from some shop owners that there was no water in the scenic area, so the toilets in the scenic area were basically unavailable...
The Great Wall was built along the mountain, and Yanmen Pass is also famous for its steepness, so the wind here is super strong, so you must be well protected from the wind and keep warm~ Tianxianmen, out of here is Zhenbian Temple...
The Zhenbian Temple was built during the Zhengde period of the Ming Dynasty to commemorate Li Mu, a general who guarded the pass of the State of Zhao during the Warring States Period. It was also called the Li Mu Temple, and later changed to the Bian Huguo Zhenbian Temple. After reconstruction in 2009, it was renamed the Zhenbian Temple...
Praiseworthy: The visit to Yanmen Pass is more about the spiritual touch. Entering the scenic area and following the ancient trade road, you will feel like time has passed, and you will feel like you are in harmony with the ancients. In the fleeting light and shadow, it seems as if there are the shouts of carriages and camels around you, and the deep ruts under your feet that have been rolled out for thousands of years, and the wind, frost, rain and snow quietly tell the vicissitudes of the history of the ancient trade road. When you visit the ancient castle and the Great Wall on the top of the mountain, you will be surrounded by mountains, and the trade road under your feet will be winding. Thinking back to the lofty ambitions and passions of the past, the bright moon at the border, your heart will be filled with desolation.
Disadvantages: The biggest feeling is that the scenic area is renovated to look like new. All the buildings are basically new at first glance, with no traces of time or vicissitudes. It does not look like a cultural relic.
Yanmen Pass, located in Yanmen Mountain to the north of Dai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, is an important pass on the Great Wall. Known for its danger, it is known as the "No. 1 Pass in China" and there is a saying that "among the nine passes in the world, Yanmen is the first".
The tower is called Ningbian Tower, the gate is called Dili Gate, and the three characters Yanmenguan on the plaque above the gate are no longer clear. On both sides of the gate is a couplet, the top couplet is "Three Borders are in a Diligent Place", and the bottom couplet is "Nine Fortresses Respect the First Pass".
The neat city walls look like they were newly built.
Yanmen Pass is mostly built with blue bricks and paved with bluestone slabs. The scenery is beautiful and worth a visit.
An excerpt from my travel notes:
From here, you can enter the defense fortress of Yanmen Pass, which is mostly built with blue bricks and paved with bluestone slabs. I seem to hear the thundering drums and the battle flags flying high above the fortress. The historical relics everywhere quietly tell the vicissitudes and changes of history. Our ancestors fought bloody battles here to defend their country and exchanged their lives and blood for today's prosperity and peace. Now we step on this ancient and peaceful land and appreciate the beautiful mountains and rivers. In addition to marveling at the diligence and wisdom of our predecessors, we should also remember the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives and shed their blood here!
There are buses from Dai County to Yanmen Pass, 3 times a day, and the one-way ticket is 12 yuan. You can confirm the departure time with the driver for the return trip. The bus will first take you to the ticket center to buy tickets, and then go to the south gate of the scenic area. It takes 45 minutes to walk from the south gate to the main attractions.
Remind you, if you buy tickets online, you must arrive two hours in advance, otherwise you won't be able to get in at the gate. We bought tickets online during breakfast and drove from the county town to the scenic spot, but it was still early. We waited at the gate for more than half an hour, but we caught up with a performance at the gate at 9:30 am. Yang Laolinggong led the crowd to welcome everyone to visit. Haha, it doesn't matter if you don't watch it.
The scenic area as a whole is very new, and the Great Wall is not dangerous. I didn't visit it carefully. I walked back after a while. When I was almost at the entrance, I remembered that I forgot to go to the "place where Xiao Feng jumped off the cliff" to take a look. Forget it.
The scenery is excellent, but it is too commercialized and has lost its local characteristics.
Yanmen Pass is worth a visit, as it has both a profound history and magnificent natural scenery.
It is not much different from the Great Wall attractions in Beijing. Those who have been to the Great Wall can ignore this place.
You can imagine and experience the geographical location, military value, historical events, folk legends, etc. during the historical period by standing on the Guanlou.
Yanmen Pass is strategically located and is a place of contention for military strategists. From the Western Han Dynasty, Tang Dynasty, and Northern Song Dynasty, it was the place where the Central Plains and nomadic peoples fought tug-of-war.
The bus timetable from Taiyuan to Daixian is only available at the East Railway Station. After arriving at Daixian, you can take a taxi to Yanmen Pass.
Yanmen Pass is good, the scenery is beautiful, there are many restaurants inside, the prices are absolutely conscience, so cheap that it feels incredible
The design of the scenic spot is very thoughtful, with parking lots and minibuses, and they really want to attract people. However, the management is not good.
There was a staff member inside, whose name was written on the sign "Wang Yonggang". Not only did he have a bad attitude, but he also pushed the old man. The other staff members nearby watched and did nothing.
No wonder, there are banners saying "sweep away gangsters and eradicate evil" everywhere, more than anywhere else, which makes people think a lot, right?
After I came out, I couldn't find any complaint phone number. It's possible that even if I complained, it would be useless. They just told me not to even think about complaining.
Anyway, when you go out to play, be mentally prepared. If you get hurt accidentally, you have to leave quietly. I don't want to talk about the poor mountains and bad waters of Yanmen Pass, but there is a reason why the place is poor and the economy is bad.
It is quite cold during this period, it is already below zero, so you should bring good clothes.
Breathtaking! Breathtaking! Breathtaking!
What a beautiful country! What a beautiful country! What a beautiful country!
You won’t know until you go there!
I can't describe it in words!
This is a must-visit place for all Chinese people. Its nature, culture and history are all worth a closer look.
Since there is no direct bus, you can only take a taxi from Dai County to the scenic spot, which takes about half an hour or an hour to arrive. Of course, it would be better if you have a car to travel by yourself. The area here is relatively large, so the tickets are relatively expensive. Although most of the attractions were restored later, you can still see the momentum of the ancient pass. Most of the attractions in Yanmen Pass are concentrated in the North Gate Tower, so you can go there directly.
In late July, due to rainfall, part of the scenic area collapsed and it was not reopened until mid-to-late August. Some of the attractions are still under repair.
Most of the entire scenic area was newly built later. The Great Wall is located at the original site, and the Guanlou is at the original site. It is worth a walk, and the Great Wall section is worth climbing. There are fewer people than the Badaling Great Wall, and the experience is good
It is relatively close from Dai County to the South Gate of Yanmen Pass, and it takes about 20 minutes to drive. The newly built road is relatively easy to drive. The parking fee is 5 yuan per car per time. The parking lot is made up of strange big stones and the ground is uneven, which is very tire-wearing. So you should turn into the parking lot when you enter the door and don't drive forward. Anyway, you have to take the shuttle bus to get in. The ticket price is 77 yuan, the shuttle bus is 10 yuan, and people over 60 years old are free of charge. The shuttle bus only takes you to the Folk Village and you need to walk up by yourself. The natural gate is closed, and the real reason for the discount on the ticket price.
Tell the bees that Yanmen Pass has reopened on August 16th and the heavy rain is over!!!
Climbing the mountain requires some physical strength. The scenic area is not small and the Great Wall is well maintained.
Yanmen Pass has a rich history and is worth appreciating.
I climbed a corner tower and then the enemy tower to see the whole view of Yanmen Pass. The Great Wall and the tower were newly built recently, so they are not very meaningful. But before I came here, I wanted to understand the terrain chosen to build the pass in ancient times. After I came here, I found that I had to understand the terrain of the entire surrounding area to understand it. If someone asks me for advice, I think Yanmen Pass is not necessary.
Yanmen Pass is an important pass on the Great Wall. Together with Ningwu Pass and Pianguan Pass, it is called the "Outer Three Passes". Yanmen Pass is famous for its "danger" and is known as the "No. 1 Pass in China". There is a saying that "Yanmen Pass is the first of the nine passes in the world". The ticket to Yanmen Pass is 90 yuan, and it costs 10 yuan to take the sightseeing bus in the park from Houyaopu to Mingyue Tower for a round trip. Yanmen Pass was the place where the story of the Yang family's generals who fought for the country one after another took place, and also played the song of victory in the War of Resistance against Japan. There is a complete defense system including the Guandi Temple, the barracks, the training ground, the Emperor's Cave, and the fitness trail. There is also a Yang Family Ancestral Hall built at the north entrance. It is a good place to learn about Chinese history and keep fit!
It is more imposing than the Badaling Great Wall. It was the barrier of the ancient Central Plains. Standing inside the Great Wall, you can feel the vicissitudes of history. Looking out, you can see the rolling mountains. Climbing the beacon tower, you can really feel that you can see all the mountains as small.
In the afternoon, you can go directly to Datong City from Yanmen Pass. It's all highway all the way, more than 120 kilometers, and it will take about two hours to arrive.
Entering from the Houyaopu Post Station of the Yanmen Pass Scenic Area, there were post stations and shops everywhere at that time. Passing merchants and horse caravans would rest here, and the most popular street among them was the Border Trade Street.
From Houyao Station No. 27, I walked all the way to Qianyao Station No. 1, and then returned to Houyao to pick up the car... It was a total of 16 kilometers round trip, which was okay. I felt warmed up after walking.
There is a small moon-shaped pond called Yanchi in the scenic area. According to legend, when Zhaojun went to the frontier and bid farewell to her homeland, she played a sad pipa piece at Yanmen Pass. The flying geese were attracted by the sound of the pipa and landed here.
There is one of the few "ancient traffic rules monuments" in the scenic area. It was first erected in the 36th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty. At that time, it was the heyday of Emperor Qianlong. There was a road in the southern section of Yanmen Pass Road that was particularly crowded. In order to change the traffic jam, the governor of Daizhou opened another lane. The content of this road-dividing monument was to inform the villagers that vehicles coming from the south should go from the east road, and vehicles coming from the north should go from the west. This relieved the traffic pressure.
There is also a Fugezhai Folk Village in the scenic area, which used to be a goods distribution center for caravans to stop and repair.
I went to Dai County in June 2016. As soon as I got off the train, I took a taxi straight to Yanmen Pass. Along the way, I saw the scenery of northern Shanxi. There were people herding sheep and horses. Especially when approaching the Yanmen Pass Canyon, the steep mountains on both sides highlighted the importance of the pass. When I arrived at Yanmen Pass, the sky was very blue, the clouds were very white, and the wind was getting stronger. It was worth going.
I came here once on a self-driving tour two years ago. At that time, it was not a 5a scenic spot. There were few people. The facilities in the scenic spot were relatively complete and the toilets were very clean. At that time, I thought that the scale and facilities of such a scenic spot could reach the 5a level. As a result, it was really rated as a 5a scenic spot a year later. The Great Wall in the scenic spot is basically rebuilt, but the scenery is still very good. After all, the heritage of this place is profound. Even if it is a rebuilt Great Wall, people can still feel the vicissitudes of history. In addition, if you want to experience the most authentic ancient Great Wall, I recommend Xin Guangwu, not far from Dai County. The Great Wall here has not been repaired at all and is well preserved.
I arrived at Yanmenguan Scenic Area at 10:30 in the morning. Parking is 5 yuan, and the entrance fee to the scenic area is 61, including the shuttle bus, which is not expensive.
I parked my car, got on the shuttle bus with two other tourists, and drove for 5 minutes!!
A few minutes later, the scenic area bus took us to our destination, a square with a red wall covered with reliefs of celebrities from past dynasties. There was another group of statues next to the square, all of which were characters from the Yang Family Generals, including Dalang and Erlang.
Before leaving, the driver gave each of us a note with his phone number on it, saying that we could call him when we got out, and he wouldn't wait there foolishly.
oh,
I asked how long it would take to visit here, and the driver said, about an hour.
Now that I think about it, there should have been a road in front of the square where the scenic area bus dropped us off, leading to another main entrance to the scenic area, which is the main entrance that one has to pass through the "ancient battlefield" - the "Tianxian Gate".
But I didn't know at that time, so I just got off when the driver asked me to.
A few of us tourists then entered the Yanmen Pass Scenic Area through the "Ming Yue Tower" gate.
Mingyue Tower is the first city gate tower I came across in the scenic area, and it can be considered as the outskirts of Yanmen Pass.
After passing Mingyue Tower, you will enter the "Yanmen Village", which is now the street where the shops and inns are located. However, more than 90% of the shops are closed, so I was able to have some peace and quiet.
By the way: the streets, environment, monuments or rebuilt buildings and roads in the entire scenic area are very clean! Really, very! Although I didn't see the staff cleaning inside.
Passing through this urn, there is a small courtyard on the right. The courtyard is very exquisite, with the Guandi Temple built in the courtyard and the theater opposite. The Guandi Temple enshrines the statues of Guan Erye, Zhou Cang and his adopted son Guan Ping. The most eye-catching thing is the heavy and rusty "Green Dragon Crescent Blade" in front of the Guandi Temple.
Passing through the city wall, on the right is the Guandi Temple, and on the left is the "Dili Gate", which is said to be a plaque written by Wu Zetian.
Dili Gate is opposite the gate of the small courtyard of Guandi Temple.
Since the walls are all connected around, I walked down from this watchtower to the Wild Goose Pagoda on the opposite side. From the watchtower on the south where I was, I walked down to the Wild Goose Pagoda and the Forest of Steles next to the watchtower on the north in the distance, which were connected by the "Wild Goose Pagoda" in the concave part of the Great Wall.
I didn’t find any information about Yanlou. It has now become an “Ancient Architecture Museum” and is of course still locked up.
After passing the "Guan Shu" is the "Tian Xian Gate".
I'm glad I didn't slack off when I got here! Because I always feel that compared to the "Mingyue Tower", this gate is the main gate of the Yanmen Pass Scenic Area, which is more majestic, magnificent, and shocking! Standing on the natural gate, I feel like a general who "one man guards the pass and ten thousand men cannot open it", and I feel so majestic! Haha! !
Among the nine fortresses in the world, Yanmen Pass is the first
I searched the internet for information about Yanmen Pass. Yanmen Pass is located in Yanmen Mountain, about 20 kilometers north of Dai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, China. It is an important pass on the Great Wall, known for its danger, and is known as the "No. 1 Pass in China". There is a saying that "Yanmen Pass is the first of the nine passes in the world". Together with Ningwu Pass and Pianguan Pass, it is called the "Outer Three Passes".
Let's take a look at the historical figures at Yanmen Pass: King Wuling of Zhao, Li Mu, Meng Tian, Wang Zhaojun, and the Yang Family Generals.
Standing on the wall of Yanmen Pass and looking north, today's Datong was the place of Xiongnu, Liao and Jin in ancient times. Various feelings came to my mind. The place where I stood at this moment was once washed by so much blood. How many people sacrificed here and parted with their families.
Walking on the ancient roads, wearing modern shoes, the stones will make it difficult to walk. How did those who wore cloth shoes and straw sandals walk on these roads?
Yanmen Pass is a part of the Great Wall; many parts were repaired and added later
I think everyone has heard the story of "The Generals of the Yang Family" when they were young. Although I know it is just a storytelling interpretation when I grow up, it does not hinder my yearning for Yanmen Pass. The newly built Yanmen Pass scenic area is magnificent. As soon as you arrive at the square, you can see the huge scenic area logo and the statues of all the generals of the Yang Family. Yanmen Pass is indeed dangerous and easy to defend but difficult to attack. No wonder the Liao soldiers had such a hard time fighting back then. Many of the city defense equipment of that year have been restored in the city. Friends who are interested can try it.
Yanmen Pass, located in Yanmen Mountain about 20 kilometers north of Dai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, is an important pass on the Great Wall. Together with Ningwu Pass and Pianguan Pass, it is called the "Outer Three Passes". It is a national 5A-level tourist attraction.
I had known for a long time that the Yanmen Pass scenic area had been rebuilt and renovated, and it looked a bit too new, so I was quite hesitant about whether to come here.
However, standing at the highest point, looking at the steep terrain, recalling the struggle between the Northern Song Dynasty and the Liao Dynasty, as well as Xiao Feng's sacrifice by jumping off a cliff here, and the unique frontier atmosphere of northern Shanxi, I still feel that Yanmen Pass is a very shocking and worthwhile attraction.
Moreover, as a part of the Great Wall, the number of tourists here is estimated to be less than one thousandth of that at Badaling. Instead of seeing crowds at Badaling, it is better to come here and feel the majestic momentum of the restored Great Wall.
The disadvantage is that the location is a bit remote, and transportation is more troublesome for tourists who do not drive themselves or travel with a tour group.
Yanmen Pass is OK. Free admission today, 9.27
It is a national 5A-level scenic spot, suitable for self-driving tours, with a tour time of three hours.

Yanmen Pass has a heavy sense of history, that is, people who travel independently must take a taxi to Dai County. Now it is a 5A scenic spot, and the local government should have buses directly to the scenic spot, otherwise it will not develop well.
Yanmen Pass is an important pass on the Great Wall, famous for its danger. It is known as "the No. 1 Pass in China" and there is a saying that "among the nine passes in the world, Yanmen Pass is the first". Together with Ningwu Pass and Pianguan, it is called the "Outer Three Passes".
Once you have seen it, even for just a moment, no one would be willing to exchange this brief glimpse for any other scenery in the world.
It is a bit desolate now, with few people and no green leaves, but the sense of historical relics is still very strong.
Yanmen Pass is a historically significant ancient battlefield. If you don't come, you should visit it carefully. It is recommended to come on a sunny day so that you can take pictures of the blue sky and feel much better. It was cloudy when I went there this time. In addition, there was a depressing atmosphere on the ancient battlefield. I was not feeling well. It was too cold, the north wind was howling, and it almost snowed. There was a bleak and lonely atmosphere in front of me.
Overall, it's a good self-driving tour. It's mainly comfortable, but a bit tiring.
The management is very average, there are few people, you can take a look. The place where Xiao Yuanshan was ambushed is also the place where Qiao Feng taught the Chanyu to break the arrow and arouse the hero's anger.
The Eighteen Bends of Yanmen are indeed very narrow and have many cars. Although many of them are built attractions, they are still shocking and worth a visit.
The entire journey from Taiyuan to Datong was originally on the expressway, but due to an accident we had to take the Yanmen National Highway, which also allowed us to see the colors of autumn.
Yanmen Pass, also known as Xixing Pass, is famous for its "danger". There is a saying that "Yanmen Pass is the first of the nine passes in the world". It is located in Yanmen Mountain, about 20 kilometers north of Dai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, China. It is an important pass on the Great Wall. Together with Ningwu Pass and Pianguan, it is called the "Outer Three Passes". Tickets: 90 yuan (regular price) Battery car: 10 yuan (round trip) Parking: 5 yuan. Yanmen Pass is very majestic. It is very shocking to climb up to the top to see the whole view. It is highly recommended and worth a visit.
From Daixian County to Yanmen Pass. The north gate of Yanmen Pass is the main gate, 40 kilometers away from Daixian County. We took G108 National Highway to the south gate. The south gate is 18 kilometers away from the county. We arrived at the parking lot of the south gate at 10:00. The scenic spot ticket is 90 yuan, and we booked it online for 73 yuan. We encountered trouble when checking in. The tickets booked online need to be exchanged at the service center, which is 3 miles away from the scenic spot gate on the way here. Dad drove back to exchange the tickets. After all this trouble, we finally entered the scenic spot at almost 11:00. From the south gate to Yanmen Pass, there are only stone roads, and the road at the south gate is not as easy as the road at the north gate.
At first we thought the scenic area was not big and two hours would be enough. But we were wrong. It was a big scenic area. We walked along the mountain path. The slope was very gentle and not too tiring. There are several large courtyards under the Yanmen Pass Tower, such as Zhenbianci and Post Station. Wang Zhaojun and several other princesses lived here when they married. There are several cave dwellings. Many generals who guarded the border lived here. There are monuments and government offices in the Warring States Period. You can climb the tower after passing through Yanmen Pass. The tower and the nearby stele forest, enemy tower, tower, etc. are connected to the city wall to form a complete system.
We played there for three and a half hours but still hadn't finished the whole tour. Seeing the big dark clouds floating in the sky, we had to rush to the Luya Mountain Scenic Area, which was a hundred miles away, so we left with regret.
I recommend Yanmen Pass to my friends. If you enter from the north gate, you must go outside Yanmen Pass. There are Zhenbian Ci, the post station, Zhaojun's Falling Goose Pond, and many other major buildings are outside the Yanmen Pass tower. From there, the Yanmen Pass is very majestic. Many old buildings are preserved. If you don't go there, you can't fully understand the history of Yanmen Pass, which will leave too many regrets.
Yanmen Pass, located in Yanmen Mountain about 20 kilometers north of Dai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, China, is an important pass on the Great Wall. It is known for its danger and is known as the "No. 1 Pass in China". There is a saying that "Yanmen Pass is the first of the nine passes in the world". Yanmen Pass goes east through Pingxing Pass, Zijing Pass, Daoma Pass, and directly reaches Youyan, connecting to the vast sea; it goes west to Xuangangkou, Ningwu Pass, and Piantou Pass to the Yellow River. Hengshan Mountain winds along the inner Great Wall on the top of the mountain along the northern border of Dai County, connecting Yanmen Mountain, Mantou Mountain, and Caoduo Mountain into one. It is backed by the Yanbei Plateau in the north and the Xinding Basin in the south. Yanmen Pass is located on the Gouzhu Ridge in the north of the ancient city of Daizhou, on Yanmen Mountain about 20 kilometers north of Dai County in northern Shanxi. The "first pass of the nine fortresses" is surrounded by mountains and dangerous places, high on Gouzhu Mountain, and is one of the main central passages for wild geese to go south and north. Only by being there can you accurately experience the strangeness and steepness of Yanmen Pass. It's a pity that most of the buildings in Yanmen Pass were destroyed during the Japanese invasion of China in 1937, and most of them were rebuilt on the original foundation later. The ticket is a bit expensive at 90 yuan, and there is also a scenic area transportation bus for 20 yuan.
Because I was passing by, I didn't go to see it, but my friend went there and said it was very good1111
I spent 100 yuan to buy a ticket to Yanmen Pass, but when I got it I found out that the ticket was only 90 yuan, which also included 10 yuan for the up and down mountain bus fare. I asked the ticket seller if I could not take the bus, but was told that I had to walk 4 kilometers without taking the bus, so I took the bus obediently. When I got to the mountain, I realized that I could actually drive my own car up, and I was cheated out of 10 yuan.
Yanmen Pass is an important pass on the Great Wall. It is known for its danger and is known as the "No. 1 Pass in China". There is a saying that "Yanmen Pass is the first of the nine passes in the world". Together with Ningwu Pass and Pianguan Pass, they are called the "Three Outer Passes". Yanmen Pass controls the Central Plains in the south and the Moyuan in the north. It is a grand military defense project in ancient China and a channel for the northern ethnic groups outside the Great Wall to invade the interior in ancient times.
Although the scenery has been completely artificially created, you can still appreciate the grandeur of the mountains and appreciate the wisdom of the ancients.
Yanmen Pass is worthy of its reputation! Many historical stories have accompanied it for thousands of years. At Yanmen Pass, it seems that the battle scene of golden swords and iron horses, beacon fire and wolf smoke appears before your eyes, resounding through the valley! The youthful blood of the border guards has exchanged for the tranquility and peace of the Central Plains! It is a place worth visiting. The reputation of "one man guarding the pass and ten thousand men cannot open it" and "the first pass in China" is reflected in this long river of history, like a dazzling jade shining!
I went there on a snowy day. I especially liked Tian Lianyuan's version of "The Generals of the Yang Family" since I was a child, so I made a detour to come here. There was no tourist when I arrived. Although it was very cold, it was a unique scenery and taste.
Although I didn't book tickets in advance because I just wanted to go, the scenic spot is still good. There is a gate and the Great Wall. You can see such a majestic Great Wall without going to Beijing.
Well worth a visit, a beautiful place.
As an ancient transportation fortress, it is very spectacular and has a strong sense of history. No wonder so many high-ranking officials and leaders come to visit.
From now on, there will be no more Qiao Feng in this world. Alas. …………
Because it is winter, it is quite quiet and there are not many people.
Yanmen Pass: For many years, it has been in my heart and mind. Only when I arrived at Yanmen Pass did I truly feel its majesty and steepness. Many stories happened and died here. Yanmen Pass is not only a pass of the Great Wall, but also a dream of the outside world to the inside. Now as a tourist attraction, I hope it can better endow history and culture for everyone to savor and think deeply.
There are not many tourists, and you need to take the tourist bus in the scenic area to reach the entrance of Yanmen Pass. It is about 2 kilometers from the tourist service center of the scenic area to the Great Wall climbing site of Yanmen Pass. It seems that the tourist bus tickets could be purchased separately, and tourists could choose to walk up or take the bus. This time the tickets are packaged together.
The ticket price has increased a lot after the reconstruction of this place. Some of the Great Wall is fake, and some is from the original time, so you have to distinguish them carefully.
“The First Pass in China” is spectacular!
Wu Zetian's two characters "Natural Danger", Ming Dynasty stone road
We entered at the "Qianyaopu Station" and bought tickets 100 meters after the entrance, otherwise we would have to go back, which was very troublesome!
It's beautiful and great. The weather is very good. But the sun is strong.
Yanmen Pass has always been a strategic town and a strategic pass in northern China and an important political post for frontier garrisons.
It is the ancient pass with the longest history, the most frequent wars, the highest fame and the widest influence, and is known as the "No. 1 Pass in China".
Major historical events such as "Han Gaozu's Northern Expedition", "Zhaojun's Expedition to the Frontier", "Song Qin and Hui Emperors Taken to the North", and "Yang Family Generals Guarding the Three Passes" are all related to this. ——I hope the scenic area will stop building! Your construction is equivalent to destruction!
The development time is not long and there are not many people. Yanmen Pass and the Great Wall give people different feelings. We drove from Xinzhou and visited the scenic spots for about 3-4 hours, climbed the Great Wall and saw the scenery of Yanmen Pass. Because there were not many people, the whole scenic area seemed relatively quiet and it felt good.
It is the first spectacular pass in China. The slope is a bit steep, so you need to wear flat shoes. After you get up, the scenery is beautiful, overlooking the magnificent mountains. There are not many people on the road, so it feels quite pleasant to stroll around and appreciate the infinite scenery of Yanmen Pass. It is worth a visit, but it is best to drive there by yourself, as the road is still a bit far.
Yanmen Pass has the legend of the flying general Li Guang, the reputation of the Yang family generals who were loyal to the country, the calmness and generosity of Zhaojun's journey to the frontier, the bloody battles of the Anti-Japanese War, and the embarrassment of Empress Dowager Cixi's escape from here after the Eight-Nation Alliance entered Beijing. Yanmen Pass has too many legends and allusions, giving people too much imagination.
There are so many stories about Yanmen Pass, such as Wang Zhaojun, Yang Liulang, etc. Everyone who knows history knows that Yanmen Pass is the first pass in China.
I was lucky, it was snowing when I went there! I walked from the South Gate to the North Gate. Usually, I went out from the same place I entered. The scenery along the way was really like the North Country, with thousands of miles of ice and snow. Yanmen Pass was covered in snow. It was beautiful! But as a 5A-level scenic spot, the supporting facilities were too poor. The toilets that I finally found from the South Gate to the North Gate were all locked... I couldn't find any hot water. I also want to scold those who left XXX2019.4.6 or XXX19.4.7 here on the city wall. The fonts were crooked and ugly. The quality is so low.
