The sunset at Banhe River is said to be beautiful, but I didn’t see it. The morning mist at Sela River is said to be beautiful, but I went there at the wrong time!
A few hundred meters outside Daocheng County is "Banghehe Sela", which can be found on Gaode Map. From here, you can overlook the river and woods from a high place with a wide view. The guide says that you can watch the sunset and morning mist here, but because we had to rush to Shangri-La Town that day, we didn't stay for too long.
Riverside and salad
Coordinates: On both sides of the road from Daocheng County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China to Yading Scenic Area
Banghe is near the county seat, and Sela is where Tibetans live. If you are lucky enough to be invited to a hospitable Tibetan family’s home to eat, drink and have fun, it will be a very good experience.
"Sangdui Town", "Sela Morning Mist" and "Sunset on the River" are the most famous.
The scenery at dusk and sunrise along the Banghe River is breathtaking: blue sky, white clouds, boxwood trees, red grass, snow-capped mountains, and emerald green waters—a breathtaking spectacle. Banghe is both the name of a river and the name of a township. The most breathtaking aspect is the river itself. Because it flows through a very flat terrain, at dusk, the water shimmers in the afterglow of the setting sun. Without gaps in the water, sparse, orderly rows of poplar trees dot the scene perfectly. In the distance, smoke from cooking fires coincidentally rises from villages. Sela Village is home to a Tibetan settlement, and being fortunate enough to be invited to a hospitable Tibetan home for a meal, drinks, and fun is a true privilege. Sela, also the name of a township, is a beautiful grassland, vast and gently sloping, surrounded by rounded hills. Mornings in Sela are tranquil, the air thick with the scent of green grass. The sun rises from behind the mountains, gradually passing over the ridges, moving forward across the vast grassland. A hazy mist lingered on the ground, ethereal and mysterious.
The beautiful scenery of the poplar forest and the small river is very close to Daocheng County. The scenery at sunset is really beautiful. There are many stop-over viewing points on both sides of the road, which are worth walking to experience.
I am from the countryside of Chongqing, and for me, river salad is really a big loss. There are so many of them in the countryside of Chongqing... It's not worth coming. If you are from the city of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or Shenzhen, you can come and have a look, but it's really just an ordinary village of passers-by 5555
The beautiful scenery that can be enjoyed along the road would be even better if you could go deeper into it!

Autumn should be beautiful and the pastoral scenery will be fascinating.
The riverbank isn't anything special; it's just a small stream. The pine, birch, and boxwood trees on either side aren't particularly distinctive, and at this time of year, most have turned yellow, some even withered. But on the plateau, under the penetrating sunlight, it becomes something truly unique.
Banghe Sela is located near the county seat, between the villages of Sangdui and Sela. The rural scenery along the highway is truly captivating. In autumn, thousands of acres of planted poplar trees, shimmering golden against a backdrop of blue skies and white clouds, are meticulously arranged. The riverbanks in front of the trees, covered in red aquatic plants, create a dazzling spectacle. Ask the driver to stop and take a look on the way to Yading.
Banghe River winds like a jade belt around the road from Daocheng to Yading. Located in Sangdui Township, Daocheng County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, over 10 kilometers from Daocheng County, the scenery along the way is breathtaking. The plateau's idyllic landscape is a blend of rivers, barley fields, birch forests, villages, and temples.
You can take pictures of the sunrise and sunset here, and you can also take pictures of the Milky Way and the starry sky at night. It's a great location.
I probably didn’t fully appreciate the scenery here. I just took a quick glance and then took some road photos with my friends, haha.
We actually asked a lot of people where Banghe and Sela were, and everyone had a different answer... But the general location was the same, so we went there in the afternoon and were pleasantly surprised.
It is said to be the best place to view the Populus euphratica forest. Some pictures are taken from the driver's WeChat.
Banghe and Sela are small rivers that lead to Aden. In addition to the red grass beach, you can also see many handsome horses here, such as the legendary Ferghana horse, which you can quietly take pictures of. There is also the legendary Prince Charming who arrives late, and the majestic Bull Demon King.
A "Photography World" was built in 2016. The poplar forest, the path, the blue sky, the white clouds, and the yaks create a beautiful picture!
The river is a beautiful place. It is a happy thing to walk among the poplar trees at sunset.
The riverside in autumn is very beautiful. The leaves of the poplar forest are golden in the sunlight, which makes it warm. The sunset is also beautiful.
In Banghe and Sela, there are always unexpected light and colors that appear incredibly. It is a magical place where any novice photographer can take amazing photos.
The area around Daocheng is particularly beautiful, especially when the sun shines down. The woods and rivers are very suitable for photography.
I think Banghe and Sela must be visited in autumn for the best views. I can't really say what's so special about them, but they're just so relaxing and worth seeing.
The road condition was not very good when I went there, it seemed that something was being repaired.
If it is late autumn, you can come, there is no need to waste time in other seasons.
The light and shadow are great in the evening, it's a great place to take pictures of the sunset
I went to shoot the sunrise at breakfast, it was absolutely beautiful, no worse than Xinduqiao
A great place to watch the sunset. The sun sets and the afterglow is so beautiful! ~
You can also rent a bicycle in the county town, and it is best to go there in the evening when the sun is setting.
Walking along the country road, we passed Tibetan houses, herds of yaks, and Tibetan children playing and frolicking. The setting sun shone on the grasslands and the peaks of the mountains. I felt so cheerful!
The weather was great, there was no altitude sickness, and the cycling trip was great.
It's really great to take pictures in the early morning. It's a place worth lingering.
Personally, I am not very interested in the vast poplar forests, but the weather is good and a leisurely ride is the best way to relieve fatigue after Aden.
I came here with such a passionate heart, how could I not be deeply moved? I prefer places with flowing water because it creates a sense of movement. I was also deeply impressed by the color combination here; it's so beautiful and comfortable! Please use your imagination to imagine everything!
The ten thousand mu poplar forest lives up to its reputation, and it looks even more gentle and otherworldly under the golden sunset!
In mid-October, the poplar trees by the river have all turned yellow and are very beautiful in the sunshine. It is recommended to go there in the morning as the sunshine is better than at other times.
Suitable for cycling, but it is not recommended to do heavy exercise when you first arrive at the plateau. The autumn scenery by the river is very beautiful~~~
How should I put it? In my eyes, all I see is scenery: the mountains in the distance, the clouds in the sky, the river under my feet, the Tibetan village in front of me...
Banghe and Sela are the best places to photograph boxwood forests and red grass beaches. Although Daocheng is full of beautiful scenery, the color contrast here is undoubtedly the most vivid.
Although we didn't go in the most beautiful season, but in July, it was still very beautiful. I really liked the vast poplar forests and the endless highway.
The Banghe and Sela routes are definitely the highlight. As the sun sets, you can see people working to harvest barley. The crisp autumn weather and the sun's rays hitting the mountains are breathtaking. Every moment is a great shot.
In Daocheng, there are many beautiful rural scenery along the road, which often make people linger.
There isn't much water in the river, which may be due to the season, but the riverside view during the golden autumn sunset is really beautiful.
During the rainy season, the river water will be a little turbid. After October, the river water will become clear, and the poplar trees on both sides will turn yellow. The scenery must be very, very beautiful... Unfortunately, I came too early...
Banghe and Sela are peaceful and tranquil under the sunset. With the opening of the airport, the repair of roads and the increase in tourists, I wonder how long this paradise can be preserved.
It is said that Daocheng is a place of scenery at every step, and Banghe and Sela are the most exciting sights nearby. In one word: beautiful!
It is said that the morning and evening by the river are the most beautiful, but this place is a bit far away. Due to our arrangement, we went at a wrong time, and the weather was hot, so we did not see the scenery we imagined. However, I like to go with the flow, and this riverside also has its own unique scenery.
We went to Sela Grassland. I loved it so much. I didn’t have any altitude sickness, so I was cheering and jumping on the grassland. But don’t learn from me. Do it within your ability. After all, it is quite dangerous to do this on the plateau.
Remember: Don't jump around randomly on the plateau. I did this because I had almost no altitude sickness.
It's not far from the county town, and it's most cost-effective to ride there. The light and shadow in the morning and evening are very beautiful, especially when night falls.
Although the road back to the county town is not far, there are no street lights and few cars.
This was the first time I felt like a fellow traveler. When I rode on the roadside and asked for directions from local Tibetans who were returning from collecting firewood, or just smiled at each other, they would all say "Tashi Delek".
The water in the river has been drained (the river is suitable for watching the sunset). Sela Township, the scenery is similar to that in Pudacuo, and there is no entrance fee.
We passed by the river again. It was afternoon and the sun was about to set. The sunlight slanted in front of us, shining on the poplars, the hilltops, and the river. I exclaimed, "This can't be real. This is simply a peerless oil painting by a famous artist." If I hadn't stood here in person, I would never have believed that this was a real scene.
The sunset in the poplar forest beside the river is a picture scroll
The Daocheng River flows quietly by the city, shimmering golden light in the setting sun. Pebbles are evenly distributed on the gentle riverbank, and on the bank are neatly lined poplar trees, hiding the riverbank.
I saw this arch bridge from afar in the afterglow of the sunset. It was really beautiful. However, it was the dry season and the water in Daocheng River was almost dry.
The idyllic scenery of Banghe and Sela can be admired along the highway, with "Sangdui Town," "Banghe Sunset," and "Sela Morning Mist" being the most famous. On a clear day, at dusk in Banghe and at sunrise in Sela, you'll witness the following spectacle: blue sky, white clouds, boxwood, red grass, snow-capped mountains, and lush green waters. A light mist creates a fairyland-like experience.
The river is lined with poplar trees, creating a beautiful scene. Daocheng is a very quiet and beautiful place.
Riverside and salad ~ all kinds of beauty, no photoshop, pure natural beauty! !
In the afternoon, we arrived at the Populus euphratica forest by the river. Sunlight shone through the clouds onto the earth. The hills and clouds in the distance also appeared particularly rich in layers under the effect of light.
There is no more water beside the river.
It is already the end of autumn, and the leaves of the poplar trees have almost fallen, and the ground is covered with golden leaves.
Although the scenery is beautiful, there is a lot of dust on the road because of road construction everywhere. Whenever a motor vehicle passes by, there will be a cloud of dust. The air is really bad. I hope these are temporary and the situation will change once the road is repaired, but for now, it is better to wear a mask.
It took me a long time to get there by bike. I thought I had taken the wrong road, but the place without tourists made me feel quieter and I could enjoy the beautiful scenery in peace.
Blue sky, white clouds, white pagoda, what magnificent colors, nature is the greatest painter!!!
Sela is particularly beautiful in autumn, with the mountains covered in yellow. It is said that spring, summer, and winter are all very different, making it a photographer's paradise.
The posts I read before all said it was good. Maybe it was because I went too late, or maybe the road construction destroyed the beautiful scenery. There were only leisurely yaks and yellow leaves on the ground against the white clouds and blue sky.
It started snowing when I rode my bike to the riverside viewing platform. I saw a ray of light cast over Sela Village from afar, but I had to go back because it was important to protect my camera.
I didn’t expect that after I got back… the clouds had all dispersed, and the sun was shining brightly!
The weather on the plateau changes faster than a woman's temper.
Arriving at the riverside bridge, the view was much less spectacular due to the cloudy sky and lack of sunlight. After waiting for about 20 minutes, a ray of sunlight finally shone through the trees in the distance, creating a truly beautiful scene.
The Ten Thousand Mu Poplar Forest Observation Deck... This is the color of autumn... The gray of the city is so bleak...
The sun had just risen, with only a hint of sunlight on the mountaintops. The valley was still dark, making it unsuitable for photography. As the sun continued to rise, its light gradually began to filter through the trees in the distance, and cameras and cameras began to buzz. I had already climbed a nearby hill. Daocheng mornings are truly beautiful.
Even if you take a random photo on the roadside, it is so artistic...
Banghe Township, the snow-capped mountains in the distance are picturesque
We had hoped to catch a ride to Sangdui Town and then cycle back to Daocheng, all the way downhill. Sangdui is 30 kilometers from Daocheng. But there were no rides available, so we cycled back, intending to visit the river in the evening. When we reached the river, we saw many middle school students playing. Two girls, hugging each other, waded across the river. The river water was icy cold in October on the plateau, and I was worried about them.
Compared to Yading, I prefer Daocheng.
Aden is a mythical place, a place many dream of visiting to experience a serene paradise. But it's not. It's a mature tourist destination, with buses, trams, and horse caravans—for a price, you can reach your desired "poetry and distant places." The scenic area's road maintenance is lax. The dirt roads are covered in horse manure and mud, and the mountain roads are covered in gravel and running water. There wasn't a single maintenance station anywhere. I was deeply disappointed on the first day. While the Milk Lake and Five-Colored Lake on the second day redeemed some of my impressions, it still fell far short of the pilgrimage-like feeling I'd experienced in Yubeng.
Daocheng is different. People just regard it as a transit station to Aden, but I think the half day spent around Daocheng is the most beautiful. Flowers, faith, sunset, Milky Way, each one is worth savoring over and over again.
