Jiuzhaigou's Love Sea (Ganhaizi) is an underrated secret! Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and forests, the turquoise lake reflects the sky and tree shadows, creating a fairytale-like experience. It's a perfect spot for couples to stroll hand-in-hand along the wooden plank road, make a wish beneath prayer flags, or simply sit quietly by the lake and listen to the gentle breeze. In autumn, the vibrant forests resemble a painting, while in summer, the cool breeze offers a welcome respite from the heat. Each season offers a unique romantic charm. It's recommended to combine this with a visit to the main Jiuzhaigou scenic area, allowing for two hours for convenient parking. The only downside: the area's small size should temper your expectations, but the tranquil atmosphere is enough to soothe a weary heart.

It's really great and worth a visit. It's easy to go up and down the mountain. The scenery is great. It's a great place to enjoy the red leaves and autumn colors.

Therefore, people gradually changed the name of Ganhaizi to Ganhaizi.

At the border of Songpan and Jiuzhaigou counties lies Ganhaizi. Originally an alpine lake, geological changes later widened its outlet, earning it the nickname "Dry Lake" from local residents. Actually, "Dry Lake" isn't dry at all. Surrounded by cascading mountains and dense forests, a winding stream flows through the lake, and lush grass blankets the ground like a velvet carpet. In summer and autumn, wildflowers adorn the landscape, while herds of cattle, sheep, mules, and horses roam. In winter and spring, the lake shimmers in a deep yellow, creating a striking contrast with the crimson foliage of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. Thus, the name "Ganhaizi" gradually became "Dry Lake." At an altitude of around 2,500 meters, the view is breathtaking. There's no need to search for beauty. Every blade of grass, every mountain, and every river in Aba offers a breathtaking beauty. Just the sight of Ganhaizi alone captivated me.

Ganhaizi is a wetland you'll encounter on the way to Jiuzhaigou. It's a bit like the Arrow Bamboo Sea in Jiuzhaigou. In the fall, it's a grassland, a bit desolate and vast. There's no dedicated parking nearby, so you can only pull over to take a few photos and then leave quickly.

When we left Jiuzhaigou, we passed Ganhaizi. It was just after the rain and the area was shrouded in clouds and mist, like a fairyland.

Ganhaizi is not a sea, but a natural pasture at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It is the first attraction we passed by. Compared with the snow mountain, it has little appeal to us.

We went there on April 11th. The grass was not yet green, but snow-capped mountains were visible in the distance. It was a cloudy day, and the snow-capped mountains were shrouded in mist, which was quite beautiful.

Located on the road to Jiuzhaigou, it is very close to Jiuzhaigou Paradise.

Ganhaizi is located right on the roadside, whether traveling from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou or from Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport to the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area.

Ganhaizi is located just off the road near Jiuzhaigou, very close to Jiuzhai Paradise and the Intercontinental Hotel, roughly midway between them. I stayed at Jiuzhai Paradise and walked to Ganhaizi after dinner. The scenery is actually quite nice, but it's a shame I didn't visit Ganhaizi until after visiting Jiuzhaigou.

The dry lake is not actually dry, but the water outlet has become larger, and sometimes the water becomes very shallow!

Ganhaizi Scenic Area is about 40 kilometers from Jiuzhaigou. For self-driving travelers who don't want to pay for Jiuzhaigou entrance fees, this area is a great choice. The scenery is stunning, and there's a marked parking lot right on the roadside (limited parking). Ganhaizi has wooden plank roads, but some are broken, likely due to lack of visitors and lack of maintenance. However, this has preserved its pristine beauty. You can also go rafting there...

It is not in the Jiuzhaigou scenic area, so there is no charge, but the scenery is no less beautiful. There are many cattle and sheep, and you can ride horses and take pictures with sheep. Recommended~

After visiting Jiuzhaigou, we checked into the InterContinental Jiuzhaigou Paradise. Since our check-in time was 2 PM, we asked our chartered driver to drive us to the Ganhaizi Scenic Area, less than half an hour's drive from the hotel. This area appears to be a recently constructed Tibetan-Qiang architectural complex. There's no entrance fee, and the area isn't crowded. As soon as we pulled up, a group of Tibetans surrounded us, hawking their traditional trinkets. They explained that this was East Tibet. The area is well-planned, with a well-organized layout of buildings. A stream adds a vibrant touch to the ancient city.

Ganhaizi is on the way to Jiuzhaigou and is free to visit. However, there are locals selling goods and asking if you want to ride a horse.

The autumn colors of the forest are splashed with overlapping layers of colors, forming a colorful scene. The endless blue sky is a beautiful sight.......

Ganhaizi is located in Jiuzhaigou County, Aba Prefecture, beside the S301 Road. When going from Songpan to Jiuzhaigou, you will pass by here after passing through a forest. However, since you are going to Jiuzhaigou, there is no need to go in here. You can just take a look on the way.

You can ride horses, have fun, buy souvenirs, and bargain with Tibetans.

I went there in 2011 when I was still in school. I was so poor that I didn’t even have a camera or a phone that could take pictures, but the scenery was really beautiful.

The colorful rapids, the seas dotted with primitive mills and piers, and the majestic waterfalls are so dazzling that one can't help but admire the magic of nature.

You must pass by Ganhaizi when you go to Jiuzhaigou. I can only describe my impression of Ganhaizi as profound.

On the bus from the airport to Jiuzhaigou, after passing through a winding icy road, the tour guide pointed to a puddle of icy water by the roadside and said it was the famous Ganhaizi. Only a few dry reeds peeped above the ice, and the thin surface was too thin to walk on, so we had to rush across.

Ganhaizi is located next to the InterContinental Jiuzhaigou Paradise Hotel. It is actually a very small plateau meadow + a very small plateau lake. The hotel will arrange tours for tourists staying in the hotel.

It's a place worth stopping to see. It was summer when I went there. From a distance, the purple lavender in this place was so beautiful that we stopped the car on the roadside and took many photos.

Ganhaizi is a half-hour drive from Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, very close to Jiudaoguai. The lake is covered with reeds and weeds, and the water is not very deep. In summer, the waves are rippling, and in winter, it is a tourist paradise, with frozen water for tourists to walk on. A Tibetan boy offers skis for 30 yuan per ride, which is a great way for friends with children to put their children on the skis and pull them along. There are also several girls selling Tibetan jewelry around, all of which are quite Tibetan.

When I worked in Jiafan Ancient Town, one of my favorite places to visit was Ganhaizi. It's located on the way from Chuanzhusi Temple to the entrance of Jiuzhaigou Valley, close to both the InterContinental Resort Jiuzhaigou Paradise and Jiafan Ancient Town. The scenery here is unique and beautiful year-round. In spring, everything comes to life, and the lake is covered in green sedge grass. I heard it used to be home to the most fish, but now I occasionally see small fish swimming through the water. In summer, you'll be greeted by a sea of purple flowers—not lavender or horsetail, just ordinary wildflowers, but blooming in vast swathes, the purple sea is truly romantic. In autumn, the lakeside meadows are dotted with yellow wildflowers, creating a natural carpet of flowers against the green lawn. In winter, the sedge grass begins to wither, and the surrounding mountains begin to collect snow, creating a tranquil atmosphere. No matter when you visit, this place will never disappoint you; it will only offer a beautiful experience.

It's next to the hotel, so I just walked over. There was no one there, which was good.

The lake water is crystal clear and turquoise all year round, and with the change of light and seasons, it presents different tones and water patterns.

We went there at the end of November to see the colorful forests. It was the dry season, and Ganhaizi was just a grassland.

Locals like to call the lake a sea, but the scenery is indeed beautiful wherever there is a "sea" among the many local landscapes.

Ganhaizi, located outside the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, is a 40-minute drive from the valley entrance, on the way from Zhangza Town to Chuanzhusi. Here, lush vegetation, gurgling streams, and the breathtaking scenery of lakes and mountains create a unique charm. With the mountains as its backdrop, Ganhaizi's main feature is the lake and the clusters of water plants rising above it, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene. Sometimes, the towering silhouettes of snow-capped mountains appear behind the peaks, and the proximity of these peaks is truly breathtaking. Previously, Ganhaizi was merely a rest stop on the way to Jiuzhaigou, but now a wooden plank road has been built for visitors. However, due to its location, visitors can only enjoy a brief visit on the way or charter a car from Jiuzhaigou.

This lake is outside the Jiuzhaigou scenic area. I remember it was next to a highway a few kilometers away from the entrance of Jiuzhaigou. The sign was not obvious and it was not easy to find.

The water is fertile, the grass is beautiful, the cattle and sheep are strong, and I feel very happy here.

I was just passing by, it was just a grassland, so I didn't stop and took a look.

I passed by on the way from Huanglong to Jiuzhaigou. The time I went there was not right. The grass and water were all dry. I don't recommend going there at the end of August.

The scenery is worth visiting all year round, always with blue sky and white clouds

It's about a 20-minute walk from Jiafan Ancient City. There's a plank road next to it that you can walk into. There are grass and wetlands on both sides of the plank road. Be careful not to get your shoes wet when you go in.

There are many strange-looking trees in Ganhaizi. The most special one is a big tree that was uprooted and fell to the ground for unknown reasons, revealing the most natural root carvings.

There is a sea of grass. There are local Tibetan herdsmen leading horses for tourists to ride in the sea of grass. The prices are different. You need to negotiate the price. It is close to the InterContinental Hotel, a 15-minute walk. A round-trip taxi costs 50 yuan. There are horseback riding options and the charges are reasonable.

This place used to be just an ordinary grassland beside the road, but now it has been listed as a tourist attraction.

There is no entrance fee for Ganhaizi. On the way to Huanglong, the tour guide told us that there will be fields of lavender here during the blooming season. Unfortunately, it was not the blooming season when we went there. There were very few tourists here, and most tourists would not find this place. If it is the blooming season and you are driving by yourself, you can stop here and take a look. It is not far from Jiuzhaigou.

I think the best scenery is in the summer and autumn, as the winter is a period of decline.

Ganhaizi Scenic Area has a group of lakes consisting of Golden Rhino Lake, Fragrant Grass Lake and Jiuqu Colorful River. It is located between Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong Scenic Areas, with convenient transportation conditions, a large range of activities and rich landscape resources.

The forest park covers a large area. The environment of the entire scenic area is very fresh and the flow of people is not large, so it is a good summer resort.

There is a snow-capped mountain in the distance of Ganhaizi, and there are many kinds of plants around it, and it looks very wide.

When you go to Jiuzhaigou, you can go horseback riding here.

Jiuzhaigou is a must-see. If you come back from Jiuzhaigou, you won’t miss the water. The biggest feature of Jiuzhaigou is the clear and blue water.

The scenery of Ganhaizi is quite good. In July, Ganhaizi is full of various beautiful wild flowers. It is very beautiful to take pictures here.

It is very close to the InterContinental Hotel, the best hotel in Jiuzhaigou. The scenery is good when I went there in October. I could already see the red leaves and colorful forests. It was a good warm-up for my trip to Jiuzhaigou.

There is a village called Ganhaizi not far from Jiuzhaigou. Many people come here to take wedding photos. It is most beautiful when the grass blooms in the summer. There are also many now vacant Qiang stone buildings nearby, which are also suitable for taking photos.
