Luowa Wharf

洛洼码头

Lugu Lake is divided into two halves, one third in Yunnan and two thirds in Sichuan. Luowa Wharf belongs to the Sichuan part.
The wharf should be located on the Luowa Peninsula, which is a very important dividing line. On this side of the peninsula is the famous Caohai, and on the other side of the peninsula is Lianghai. The so-called Lianghai means the water surface without any grass.
So it is very special to watch the scenery at this pier, with a world of green grass on one side and crystal clear lake water on the other.

The next day, while it was still pitch dark, we arrived at Luowa Wharf. I'd heard it was the perfect spot to watch the sunset and sunrise. A passerby pointed us to a viewing area with parking spaces marked around a bend. We parked, climbed the nearby hill, set up our tripod, and quietly waited for the sun to rise. We were a little disappointed to see only a faint halo. We descended the winding mountain road, only to catch a glimpse of a beautiful row of pig trough boats and wisps of smoke on the blue lake at the foot of the mountain. In the early morning, the mountains across the lake, initially clear, gradually blurred as rising clouds and mist created a hazy, dreamy scene. Embedded on Lugu Lake, these ancient boats drifted like leaves on the surface, resembling a fairyland. The place felt mysterious, shrouded in morning mist. Admiring and immersing ourselves in this tranquil landscape of lake and mountains brings a sense of complete relaxation and enjoyment. Everywhere you look, you're struck by wonder: "I don't know the true face of Mount Lu," or "The boat drifts alone at the deserted ferry." Knowing no one, and no one knowing you, find a small boat that's yours for the time being, standing or sitting at the bow, unconcerned with the outside world's turmoil, the ups and downs of life. In that moment, in your own world, you feel so relaxed and at ease! That scene will be unforgettable. On the other side of Luowa Wharf, the colorful pig trough boats and pagoda incense burners moored by the lake display a vibrant display of color. Across the lake, long benches are set up, where people sit down and relax, taking photos. To the right, a sea of grass stretches out, and a flock of ducks also approach. The distant and near scenes will tantalize anyone with a camera.

The B&B here faces the lake and is surrounded by blooming wildflowers, it is so beautiful!

A place worth visiting, remember to walk to the back, to Peninsula No. 2, to see a different view

By Skin hillock |

The scenery of Lugu Lake is beyond words. There is no need to beautify the photos because the actual photos taken with the mobile phone are beautiful enough.

By Sanjiang Idlers |

The transition area from Caohai to Lianghai is a beautiful bay, where I first saw water lilies.

By Teng ya Teng ya Teng |

I visited this place more than ten years ago. There was very little accommodation at that time. Now it is a very mature wharf with convenient food, accommodation and transportation.

By Matcha Mama |

This place was recommended by our chartered driver, and I didn't expect it to be so beautiful. It's truly the mirror of Lugu Lake's sky. The tranquil surface resembles an endless expanse of blue brocade, a pure, intoxicating blue. With few tourists, it feels exceptionally peaceful. A few small boats drift on the calm surface, drifting in the breeze.

By Big Hae Walking |

I went there in winter and there were almost no tourists, but it was so clear that it seemed as if there were no tourists, and the pig trough boat seemed to be floating in the air.

By A grain of rice |

This is the boat pier for Dear Inn and Princess Island. Since our carpooling companions wanted to take the boat, we didn't want to, so we just walked along a mountain path all the way to Goddess Bay! (The 4-5 kilometers of mountain trail took two hours, and the high altitude was a bit strenuous.) We unexpectedly discovered this hiking trail was truly beautiful, especially in May when the flowers were in bloom. The view of Princess Island from the mountain was quite nice, but our boat companions said Dear Inn wasn't very interesting.

By Dusk, Beauty |

There are not many people, and no one is riding the pig trough boat. The boatman is very idle.

I walked around and didn't think there was anything interesting to see, so I just headed to the next attraction.

By Highbury Flutter |

After coming out of the Walking Marriage Bridge, the bus took us into a village and stopped at the Luowa Wharf at the end.

We went during the off-season, so there were no other tourists except for a few people in our car, so we could take as many photos as we wanted. Even in the peak season, there were still not many people here compared to other attractions.

Luowa Wharf is located at the boundary between Caohai and Lianghai. There is an observation deck on its high point, from which you can see the crystal clear lake water on one side and the lush Caohai on the other.

Looking from the dock, there are colorful pig trough boats floating on the lake.

If you look closely, you will see white sea lettuce swaying in the wind in the lake. When the sunlight shines down, they are like twinkling stars, which embellish Lugu Lake with a mysterious and brilliant look like the Milky Way.

By Ethereal |

There are many pig trough boats at this pier. You can stand on the high pavilion and look down. It is very beautiful.

By ZX passing by |

It is a good choice to climb to a high place to see the panoramic view.

By Rain has stopped |

The scenery is pretty good, different from other scenic spots. It's just a little far away, so there are fewer tourists.

By "I" June |

Luowa Wharf is adjacent to Luowa Village and is an important accommodation point by Lugu Lake. There are also many barbecue stalls by the lake and the scenery is pleasant!

Luowa Pier is located in Yanyuan County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It's a small pier on the shores of Lugu Lake. I once hiked from Luowa Pier to Goddess Bay.

The scenery is pretty good, at the end of the other road to the Wedding Bridge

Luowa Wharf is a small wharf in the Lugu Lake area. It does not have as many ships as the large Luoshui Wharf, and the scenery is not as beautiful as the Rige Wharf. However, it is such a wharf that is not paid attention to by tourists, but it is quiet.

There are a few colorful boats floating on the lake here. Purple mountain flowers have bloomed on the distant mountains. The breeze blows up layers of ripples on the lake, which is quite unique.

By A gentle breeze |

When we went there, there was blue sky and white clouds, and beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains.

By Miss Courage |

The sunset and starry sky at Luowa Wharf are scenery that cannot be missed. In the early hours of the morning, roosters crowed and dogs barked, lights came on in the houses, and people in the houses prepared to get up and greet the sunshine of a new day. We waited in the back mountain for the cycle of the sun and the moon, and waited for this moment. The Milky Way rose in the east, Venus was dazzling, and the blue-purple color made people immersed in the tranquility before sunrise.

By Christina |

The boats floating on it look very nice and are worth a visit.

By momomin |

Luowa Wharf is a good place to take a boat, hike, and enjoy the lake view. You can also see the Grass Sea and the Bright Sea. It is said that when the weather is good, you can even see the reflection of the Sleeping Buddha on the lake.

By The sky and the earth are infinite |

From the Lugu Lake Scenic Area Administration in Sichuan, follow S307 a little further. You'll see signs for the Last Princess's Residence, Lama Temple, and Luowa Village (before reaching Lugu Lake Town). Turn left, which is County Road 022 on the map. Passing the Last Princess's Residence and Lama Temple, you'll reach the west end of the Walking Marriage Bridge. Continue past Caohai for another 5 kilometers until you reach the end of the road, at the Luowa Wharf parking lot. Along the way, you'll pass several villages, often with inns. While the scenery here isn't as scenic as Goddess Bay, it has more inns and is more popular. On a clear day, the lake should resemble a mirror. Behind the mountains on the right is Goddess Bay. The white flowers on the water are water lilies, which require exceptionally good water quality to thrive.

By Crazy Stone |

Luowa Pier is said to be the best spot for watching both sunrise and sunset, but I didn't get a chance to try it. After returning home, I did some research on Baidu and discovered that the Luowa Peninsula, where the pier is located, is a very important dividing line. On one side of the peninsula is the famous Grass Sea, while on the other side is the Bright Sea. The so-called Bright Sea refers to the area where no grass can be seen. Because of this, the view from this pier is truly unique: a world of lush green grass on one side, and crystal clear water on the other.

By Blue Feather |

Staying near Luowa Wharf, I went out early in the morning to watch the sunrise. The weather wasn't great, but the wharf was exceptionally calm in the morning, and the water reflected the boats on the shore like a mirror. I missed the sunrise, but I didn't miss the starry sky. The starry sky was so beautiful that I couldn't capture it with a camera. I could only capture its beauty with my eyes, and it will remain in my memory forever. Luowa Wharf doesn't have much going on at night, and it's much quieter than the Rig Peninsula. You can try staying there for a night. Caohai Lake is right next to you, which offers a completely different kind of scenery.

Luowa Wharf must have the most beautiful sunset! ! ! !

By Xiao Xiaoxi |

In the early morning, the bright sea at Luowa Wharf is shrouded in mist, like a fairyland. It is also one of the best places to watch the sunset and sunrise over Lugu Lake.

After walking out of the marriage bridge, you will arrive at Luowa Wharf. There are several inns here, and many boats are docked at the pier. You can climb up and take pictures.

By February Yaya 0201 |

The morning mist gradually dissipated, Luowa lost its hazy veil, the distant mountains gradually became clear, and the lake surface was as clear as a mirror.

The abandoned pig trough boat was casually stranded at the dock, which created a unique artistic conception.

By APTX-4869 |

A good choice for taking a boat. The uncle is very enthusiastic and can choose a boat. The explanation is also very detailed.

By Warm |

It's great. During the day, the swamp boats and seaweed flowers rock beautifully. The mountains in the distance, against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds, create a breathtakingly beautiful scene. At night, you can even see a sky filled with stars. This is a must-see.

By Photographer |

During the time we stayed at Luowa Wharf, we witnessed that the weather in Lugu Lake really changed at a moment's notice. It was raining one second and the sun was shining through the clouds the next.

By Xiaoyi |

White seaweed flowers float on the lake, shimmering beautifully in the sunlight. The seaweed flowers mentioned above are the stems of these flowers, but the flowers are not edible!

By Mia |

Enter from a fork in the road around the lake, flanked by mountain views and countryside. It's about 5,000 meters long, but there's a very steep section of road near the end, so be careful when riding a bike! There are many restaurants here, all with buffets, mainly serving local chicken and fish, all priced the same at 30 yuan per person. But the best ones are the Good People Snacks, a must-try. You have to walk down a bit to Luowa Wharf, so you can't drive, as it's all dirt roads. Goddess Bay is even more beautiful from above than up close. It's definitely worth the trip, not only for the beautiful scenery but also for the delicious food.

By Mr. Feiyang V |

The incredibly beautiful Lugu Lake has caused me to become aesthetically fatigued.

By Zhang is a fake artist |

There are a lot of seagulls, which is perfect for taking photos. There are also photos of boats, which are very beautiful.

By Xiaopang |

Luowa Wharf is near Caohai. After passing Caohai, keep walking forward until you reach the end of the road. Standing at Luowa Wharf, you can see a wide view. There is a stone beach in front, which extends all the way to the lake. If the weather is good, it is nice to play in the water here. There are also several pig trough boats floating on the water, swaying with the waves. When the sun shines directly on the lake, the water surface will be shimmering with golden waves, which is very beautiful. If it is sunny, you can also see the lake in the distance as blue as the sea, the distant mountains opposite are lush and green, and the white clouds floating in the sky, it is simply a beautiful picture.

The pig trough boat costs 70 yuan per person and goes from Luowa Wharf to the Last Princess's Mansion.

There were four of us in one boat, so it was quite spacious. It was said that the price at this pier was quite reasonable. On the Daluoshui side, it costs 50 yuan to go floating on the lake.

However, there are a lot of water plants in front of Luowa Wharf, and there are a lot of mosquitoes. If you are bitten, there will only be a red dot, which will not hurt or itch.

By Gu Zi |

The path is mostly dirt, with a narrow path about one meter wide, so it's not too difficult. During a break, a small rock hit my ankle, and it immediately gave me a purple bump. The pain was so intense that tears welled up in my eyes. There are signs at the tower in the picture above, so just follow them. After a short walk down, you'll see a slightly flat area with a path to the lower left. Follow the path and you'll reach Goddess Bay. If you continue along the one-meter-wide path, you'll reach the altar at the end.

A very quiet pier, full of authentic Mosuo people.

By Listening to the rain in the breeze |

Luowa Wharf is located at the boundary between Caohai and Lianghai. The reason why Lugu Lake is in the off-season in winter is largely because the Caohai has withered and lost its vitality in summer. However, the four of us all felt that the withered Caohai also has its own unique charm. At the same time, Luowa Wharf has both Caohai and Lianghai scenery, so the impact is not significant.

By Cauliflower |

This image was taken at Luowa Pier around 5 p.m. Sunlight filtered through the clouds, shimmering on the tranquil lake. A few boats, quietly moored, added to the captivating scene. Without excessive decoration, everything seemed simple and natural. Occasionally, a cool breeze blew across my face, creating a uniquely comfortable feeling.

By Shendoudou1023 |

There is a good photo spot just a few steps away. There are not many tourists here. It seems that we are the only ones on the whole mountain.

By Visee_劼 |

The beautiful Luowa Peninsula seems like something out of a painting. A pure, flawless blue, shimmering and translucent, like a flawless sapphire set amidst a verdant landscape. The lake is calm, with a few small boats drifting quietly. Occasionally, a seagull flies by, tracing a beautiful arc before slowly landing on the surface, serenely drifting with the waves.

The sky is also blue, and the deep and light blues make this unpolluted sky even more beautiful.

By Wu Tongshu |

The scenery from this pier is truly unique: a world of lush green grass on one side and crystal-clear lake water on the other. Luowa Pier is also said to be the best place to watch the sun set in the west and rise in the east.

The view is still very good.

By t5666 |

After playing here for a while, it was almost dark. The car ride during the day was too long, so everyone fell asleep early and got up early in the morning to watch the sunrise.

By Jully |

Deep in the alpine forest, the tree-lined mountain paths are carpeted with thick pine needles. The afternoon sun lifts the pungent aroma of pine resin, and the occasional crisp bird song echoes, a constant presence.

By PanPan |

Luowa Wharf has a great view and a wide lake, from which you can see beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains.

By An Xiaoyaer |

There were a lot of seagulls. When the whistle was blown, they flew around the boat as if saying goodbye.

Luowa Wharf is right next to our accommodation, at the confluence of Caohai Lake and Lugu Lake. Rowing on the lake felt like stepping into a painting. The weather was perfect that day, and we were truly captivated by the poetic scenery. The journey was truly worth it.

By Mori Haruka |

It is quaint and quiet. We climbed the mountain behind Luowa Wharf and looked at Lugu Lake from different angles. Lugu Lake is so beautiful no matter how you look at it!

By Lemon juice |

The hardworking Mosuo women rowed their boats to the lake early in the morning to collect algae, making the calm lake surface a little more lively.

Just chat with them casually and you can feel their satisfaction and love for ordinary life.

At Luowa Wharf, I was always wondering how the boats on the lake floated so beautifully. It turns out that they were all fixed with piles.

Fallen petals drift across the surface of Luowa Wharf's lake. The Luowa Peninsula, where the wharf sits, is a crucial dividing line. On one side of the peninsula lies the famous Grass Sea, while on the other side lies the Bright Sea (a term used to describe any surface of water without visible grass). This creates a unique view from the wharf: a world of lush green grass on one side, and crystal-clear water on the other. Luowa Wharf is also the perfect spot to watch the sunset and sunrise.

The most beautiful scenery is on the way to ride around the lake. I want to stay here and enjoy the beautiful scenery slowly.

At Luowa Wharf, some students were drawing and sketching on the shore. Seeing the tranquil lake with several small boats floating on the water, my heart was also soothed and peaceful. It was really beautiful.

Because I stayed at "Zaxi's House", I went there on the first day. There were a lot of people there, but it didn't bother me. Everyone was taking photos and playing water skipping games.

Luowa Wharf, more like a market than anything else, is a bustling spot near Lugu Lake. Perhaps because it's the off-season, business is slow, so a few shop owners gather to play cards. Leaving Luowa, I step back into desolation, like the lawyer in "No Man's Land" who just set off in his car.

By A woman who doesn't believe in evil |

Luowa Wharf is very quiet. It is the boundary between the sea of grass and the lake, which is a very suitable place for daze. It is so comfortable to be alone by the lake, looking at the sky, looking at the water, and looking at the stars at night.

By SU-35 |

Luowa Wharf: Located right at the boundary between Caohai and Lianghai. In the morning mist, the boat emerges from the lush Caohai on the left, like a graceful young woman draped in a thin veil. The Lianghai on the right is crystal clear, its waves rippling with emerald blue.

By collect. |

In fact, I like this place the most, maybe because I live here. No matter it is morning, noon or evening, it feels so dreamy here.

By Goubuli |

We went to the dock at Luowa Village and rented a pig trough boat for 30 yuan per person to explore the Caohai Sea. The Caohai Sea has its own beauty and is the pride of the Sichuan people of Lugu Lake. Whenever compared to the Yunnan section, the Sichuan people proudly boast, "We have the Caohai Sea." Meanwhile, the Yunnan people mock the Sichuan area, saying that the Caohai Sea had become a stinking sea during the severe drought earlier this year. Regardless, the Yunnan section is busier and more developed, but Simon prefers the Sichuan section for its diversity and relative tranquility.

When Simon and his companions sailed to the shore of the Grass Sea, they discovered that only one boat was visible across the vast expanse of the sea. The boatman was tall and pretty, and spoke good Mandarin. She was much more refined than the woman steering the boat, perhaps her sister-in-law, but she had never been to Lijiang or Xichang.

By Chang Ge Huai Cai Wei |

The stone shore of Luowa is very suitable for sunbathing. The view here is very wide. There are many pig trough boats floating on the lake. There is also a small path leading up the mountain. Looking down from the mountain, the scenery is beautiful!

By Walnut Blossom |

When I went out, I saw a layer of clouds and mist on the lake, which was as beautiful as a fairyland. After the lake tour, I concluded that such a scene can only be seen at Luowa Wharf. The fog at Wakua Wharf was much worse.

By Fat Paper Yunpanger |

The sky at Luowa Pier is very blue, and there are many seagulls beside the pier. There is a very steep mountain road with steps going up along Luowa Pier. The scenery above is really beautiful, and the scenery of the entire Luowa Pier is unobstructed.

By je |

If the weather changes, strong winds and heavy rain will come overwhelmingly, the entire Luowa Wharf will be without power, and even boiling water will be difficult. It will be very tragic.

By Rose velvet |

Life on the island is very leisurely, and the day is very long. It is not uncommon to have lunch at 2 o'clock. There is relatively little commercial development on the Lowa Peninsula, with only three restaurants. I just found one to eat at.

By DUCKIEWEI |

The scenic spots are not important. What I love most is sitting at the stern of the boat, staring at the blue sky and white clouds and the mirror-like lake, casting aside all distractions and purifying your heart. That feeling cannot be described in words.

By Eating without gaining weight is ultimately a dream. |

Luowa Wharf, its beauty is beyond description. Sitting here, I can just let my mind wander, ignoring all the other trivialities. It truly feels like a paradise, a place where the gods reside.

Luowa Peninsula lies right at the boundary between Caohai and Lianghai. In the morning mist, the boat emerged from the dense Caohai on the left, like a graceful young girl draped in a thin veil. On the right, the Lianghai, with its clear, emerald waves, was visible to the bottom.

By HYSTER-Jay |

There is a mountain road next to Luowa Wharf. The scenery is very nice when you walk inside. If you go there and ride a bike around the mountain, you will see the extremely beautiful scenery like the sea. Only when you are in the mountains and waters yourself will you have the chance to see that beauty.

Luowa Wharf is a pier where tourists can take boat trips to the lake. From here, you can take a boat to Daluoshui Village or visit nearby attractions. Since Luowa Wharf is also home to many shops and inns, staying there for too long is uninteresting.
