Pearl Beach

Pearl Beach is located about 0.5 kilometers downstream from Huashihai in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area in Sichuan Province. At the junction of Rizegou and Nanrigou, there is a shallow beach with a gentle slope covered with various shrubs. The water flows about 100 meters long here through multiple levels and falls into the river valley. The rapids splash countless water droplets on the inclined and uneven milky yellow calcified beach. The distance from Wuhua Lake to Pearl Beach is about 1 kilometer. A full day of hiking wouldn't be enough, so you'll need to choose your own path. The Pearl Beach plank path has two directions: the right, downhill path, leads to the waterfall, while the path leading to Pearl Beach is the first to see the beach. Pearl Beach is very wide, and the plank path is built directly on the beach. I heard it was a filming location for the film "Journey to the West." Standing in the cold, rushing stream would be unbearable, let alone standing for a long time for filming. The water from Pearl Beach flows to the cliffside, forming a waterfall. As you descend the steps, the mist from the waterfall falls on you, providing a refreshing coolness.

Pearl Beach is a gently sloping expanse of land, so named because the water flows over it like pearl-like droplets of water sloshing over large and small clams. Walking down the plank path from Pearl Beach, you'll eventually reach a majestic waterfall, larger than Nuorilang Falls, but not as photogenic.

After visiting the waterfall, walk to the parking lot and you'll pass by the 8.8 Earthquake Stone. This stone rolled down from a mountain hundreds of meters high during the Jiuzhaigou earthquake on August 8, 2018, and serves as a testament to the devastation of that year.

A trestle bridge spans Pearl Beach. The beach on the south side of the bridge is covered with bushes. The rapids flow under the bridge, stirring up strings of rolling, bouncing pearls on the shallows on the north side. The swift torrent flows along this 160-meter-wide sloping beach for 200 meters before reaching the cliff end. The endless torrent rushes over the cliff and tumbles into the deep valley, forming the magnificent Pearl Beach Waterfall.

Walking past the waterfall, although not as spectacular as Nuorilang, it was very close and it was great to see.
