It's definitely worth a visit, it's awesome! If there's no launch, you can visit during the day, the price is about 160 yuan. If there's a launch, you have to go according to the launch time, the ticket price is about 800 yuan.

The scenic area is not very large, but the children are also very happy.

Observe the launch base from a distance, learn about aerospace, and broaden your horizons.

The ticket for the tourist bus was 100. I finished the tour in 5 minutes.

The only open satellite launch center in the country...

By Benny Bear |

The supporting facilities are average, and you can see the launch tower from the observation deck. It is said that a launch mission will be launched in a week. Currently, it is mainly responsible for Beidou launch missions.

The Xichang Satellite Launch Center is located in the beautiful mountains and rivers about 60 kilometers northwest of Xichang City. Visitors to the satellite base must bring their ID card and are strictly prohibited from bringing any video equipment.

By Vaccaria segetalis |

It is well worth a visit. It is the only satellite launch base open to the outside world in my country, 64 kilometers away from Mianning County.

As a scenic spot, it is not excessive to give it a negative score. If it is used as an aerospace science education base, it is simply laughable. The next generation of children will probably not be able to inspire any enthusiasm for aerospace after watching it.

By Feng Ge |

The Xichang Satellite Launch Center has been criticized by many netizens as a place with little to offer. We actually think it's quite good, at least because it's a relatively secretive and prestigious place you only see on TV. Plus, the advanced simulator experience is still a memorable experience!

By China-TravelNote users |

It's very bad. I didn't learn as much as I did in books. The so-called base center was built by the travel company itself. You can only see two launch sites from a distance. It's a waste of my SLR. It's completely useless. It's so bad that I'm too lazy to take it out. I thought it was so high-end and technological. MMP is a complete liar. The ticket price is 120. Now think about it, if you have a lot of money to burn, you can go and experience it. I think you should want to invest in renovating it after you have been there once. It's boring and rough.

By King of Qingliang Mountain |

Watching the Long March 3B launch of the BeiDou 33rd and 34th satellites here was a truly indescribable feeling. Normally, there's nothing much to watch.

By China-TravelNote users |

The experience was terrible. The waiter's attitude was terrible. The price of 120 yuan was ridiculously expensive. It was worth 25 yuan at most. I suggest you just look at the pictures. It ruined my image of aerospace. There were typos in the exhibition area introduction. It was too rough. Very disappointed 😞

By Divine power possession |

So cool! I haven't seen it yet! I only saw it today.

By Vast smoke waves |

At 3 a.m., everyone had gathered in front of the car, chattering excitedly. At 4 a.m., we arrived at the halfway point of the mountain, more than 1,000 meters away from the launch point. There were already many people in several large houses on the mountain. We accepted the arrangements in an orderly manner and sat down quietly. Although it was quiet all around, our hearts were extremely excited.

Every detail of the activities before the launch can be seen on the big screen, and the commander keeps giving orders.

When the countdown began, the collective command of launch was issued: 10.9.8.7.6..., and a small red light spread out before our eyes, instantly dyeing half the sky red. Ahhhh, so shocking... Explosions and cheers exploded above our heads. This spectacular scene excited the whole audience. At this moment, our eyes and our hearts followed the rising rocket into the thick clouds and flew into the sky.

Satellite launch viewing tickets are 380 yuan for adults, with discounts available.

By China-TravelNote users |

There is really nothing to see, and the ticket is too expensive at 120 yuan, but it would be a pity not to come and experience it when you arrive in Xichang

By lhm |

This is the place you pass by on the way to the heart of Yalong River. Most people can't go there, and there is no need to go there.

By Little brother |

If you are not taking your children on a science and technology tour, it is not recommended to go. However, in order to cultivate children's interest in science and technology and aerospace, this trip is worth it.

By ww |

You can only look at it from a distance on the platform built outside the launch center's wall. You cannot enter the center. There is not much scenery and the ticket price is too expensive.

By JACK |

The Meritorious Satellite Launch Base undertakes both national launch missions and domestic and foreign commercial satellite launch missions.

By Spring Sunshine |

It is said that if there is no launch, you can only see the launch tower, and it is still quite far from the city of Xichang. Those who have been there will regret it.

By Evelyn Li Runxiaoxiao |

It is an educational base for understanding my country's aerospace industry.

The Beidouxing satellite navigation system designed by my country is really awesome.

By Why |

Where is the Xichang Satellite Base? Can anyone tell me the exact address? Thank you.

By Qing Xiaomei |

If your parents don't have this sentiment and you want to help them realize it, then be careful.

The first reason is that it is too far. It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to take a taxi from Xichang Railway Station to Mianning. Most of the vehicles are on highways, and some are on small roads. It is easy to drive, but the distance is far. Of course, this is understandable.

I don't quite understand the second reason. The ticket price is 120, which includes the sightseeing bus and explanation, as well as three memorial halls. High energy is coming.

The sightseeing bus drove for five minutes along a narrow, walled path, then the guide led us up a five-minute slope. Note that the two racks you see when you get off the bus are the same racks you'll see when you get up the slope. There are no other racks. The guide spoke for ten minutes, and then we were free to take photos.

Then, return the same way.

For the remaining three memorial halls, I drove 4 kilometers in my own car and arrived at an "old items" exhibition hall. The explanation lasted more than ten minutes, basically explaining based on pictures. It was heartbreaking.

And then there was nothing...

Reason three, locals can walk in along the small military train track. I'm talking about the place that costs 120 yuan, and no one cares. . . .

I heard that if a commercial satellite is launched, you can buy a ticket to watch the launch, although it will definitely be on the outer hills, with only a few seconds of roar.

I think it will leave some memories.

I feel a little sad that such a famous place has been developed into a visiting experience in this way. I need patriotic education!

By babatu1993 |

Friends who are interested in aerospace and have enough money can go.

By ryon |

Even without mentioning any patriotism, it is recommended to visit the Satellite Launch Center when visiting Xichang. After all, such places cannot be found in other cities.

By He Zhiliao Zhiliao |

They said that the leadership was changed in 2013, and now you are not allowed to go inside the base. You will be taken to a simple viewing platform halfway up the mountain by a sightseeing bus (usually a bus), and then a tour guide will give you a general explanation. After that, you will be asked to drive to a museum by yourself. Oh, the museum is so simple that I don’t even want to take pictures. It is a very bad place for pure entertainment.

By Bailuobu |

The tickets are still expensive and it’s totally a scramble to get people in. It’s not worth it. I suggest you don’t come!

By Raycd |

A must-see with kids. I didn't do my homework when passing through Xichang this time, so I missed a launch. What a shame. The rural scenery on the way to the launch site was also quite beautiful. When I got out of the car to take pictures, the farmers in the fields waved and greeted me from afar, which was heartwarming.

By Ida-fengfeng |

A great place to take your children to learn science and education knowledge!!

By nqpjames |

It feels like a rip-off. It costs 100 yuan per person, but you can't go inside to see the exhibition. You can only watch from a distance on the viewing platform. It's really boring. You have to drive to the exhibition hall yourself, which is too easy. In short, I regretted going there.

By Short Legs' Counterattack |

The road was slippery and muddy, and we encountered an unprecedented traffic jam. However, everyone in our group was enthusiastic and interested. We visited the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, which has launched 98 satellites. I usually watch it on TV, but today I was there in person and was extremely shocked. I am proud of the strength of our motherland!

By still |

Before I came, I thought there wouldn't be much to see, but I was pleasantly surprised. The guide was very good and comprehensive, making it a great place to bring children to learn about spaceflight. You can also enter a lottery with your ticket, and I won first prize. I can watch the next launch live! I'm so excited! Highly recommended!

By Rose Oats |

The Xichang Satellite Launch Center has beautiful scenery. I learned a lot when I came to the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. I saw the wreckage of the rocket and saw film and television materials. It is worth recommending. Bring your children here to learn about aerospace knowledge. 🌏🚀🚀

By The crowd is so crowded that I feel redundant |

Generally speaking, it is good. The ticket is 120, and there are discounts now. There are different discounts according to different certificates. It is very helpful for children. They can learn more about the development of China's aerospace industry and learn more about aerospace knowledge and culture. They can also see some real rocket debris recovered and the Shenzhou return capsule model. There are tour guides explaining the whole process. They are dressed in uniform and have a friendly attitude. It gives people a special feeling of aerospace spirit. It is still worth visiting.

By Qi'er |

When you come to the Aerospace City, you must visit the Xichang Satellite Launch Center to fulfill a dream that I have had for many years. The two tall launch towers stand majestically in the embrace of the mountains, making people sigh at the greatness of the aerospace industry. In the Chang'e Project Exhibition Hall, you can see rocket wreckage, satellite models, and many introductions about the aerospace industry. It really shocked my soul and I learned a lot. This one-day trip to the satellite base was really worth it!

By represent |

It's a very worthwhile attraction to visit, especially with children, you can learn a lot!!!

By Small side |

Xichang is known as the "Space City" for its low latitude, high altitude, minimal cloud cover, pollution-free environment, and high air clarity. It's the site of my country's only space base for launching geosynchronous satellites. I drove to Manshui Bay, nestled deep in the Daliangshan gorges, to the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, a long-cherished technological wonderland. I finally got a close-up look at the launch site for the Chang'e lunar exploration project. 🚀🌏

By Yang Pingping |

The red patriotic education brings children to learn a lot of knowledge from a young age. The tour guides are all dressed in blue work clothes, which are quite formal. It is a very suitable place to bring children to visit!

By shallow |

The standard ticket price is NT$120, but it's NT$100 off. There's even a student discount! You can see the launch towers. There are also explanations throughout the exhibition hall, so you can learn a lot. It's great! I heard there are even better discounts if you book online in advance!

By compass |

Arriving in this mysterious canyon, my eyes lit up! Here I am, at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, a place that makes over a billion people proud! The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The tour guide was enthusiastic and enthusiastic. The explanations were very detailed. I learned a lot about aerospace technology and learned that our country is becoming stronger day by day. The scenery around the satellite launch center is elegant, with birds singing and flowers blooming. The mountains are green, the water is clear, and the air is fresh. It is a place worth visiting.

By Silent Peak! |

The Xichang Satellite Base Scenic Area is different, dreamy, mysterious, far away from the city, quiet and peaceful, yearning for

By Momo |

The base is located in Zeyuan Township, Mianning County, in a mysterious canyon 65 kilometers from Xichang. It takes about an hour to reach from Xichang. Upon arriving at the base entrance, the first thing you see is the large inscription "Xichang Satellite Launch Center," standing majestically against the backdrop of lush green mountains and clear waters. Next to the base is a visitor reception center, where the staff are welcoming and exceptionally beautiful in their blue spacesuits. Within the scenic area, you'll find two launch towers and a Chang'e Project exhibition hall, all guided by professional guides, offering a wealth of space knowledge. This visit isn't just about sightseeing; it's about fulfilling our own Chinese dream of space travel. As high as the stars soar, so high will we hold our heads high! Long live our nation's space program!

By vicissitudes of life |

Life is like traveling, and traveling is also life. Life needs to be savored slowly, and traveling is also a kind of slow savoring. If you don't understand the tower, engine, and rocket, they are all made of iron. If you savor and understand them, you will find that technology and hard work are everywhere. The greatness of the motherland is silent, and the strength of the motherland is calm! Follow the beautiful commentators and savor them carefully, savor them carefully! You will suddenly feel inexplicably excited and sincerely proud.

We often hear the saying, "If you haven't visited the Great Wall, you're not a true man; if you haven't seen the pylons, you're truly sorry." The most immediate feeling I had coming here was that it was truly worthwhile. After purchasing a ticket and boarding a shuttle bus, I was enthusiastically guided by a guide to take in the panoramic views of this launch site, the most visited in China. The exhibition hall afterwards was a prime spot for learning about aerospace and understanding its culture.

By Zhang Da |

The high-tech satellite base is worth visiting and experiencing!

By Dream in the Wind |

Seeing is believing! The two towers are like steel giants towering over the sky. The tour guide was very professional and answered all my questions. You can also participate in the lucky draw and accidentally won a third prize. Haha

By Xiao Wei |

Very good, a scenic spot worth visiting, with professional tour guides to explain, bringing children here really learned a lot

By l. |

Very good!! Worth a visit, highly recommended!!!

By Little Ant Sunshine |

After getting off the highway, it takes a 14-kilometer drive to reach the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. There are too many local residents who illegally pick up passengers along the way. It is recommended that relatives who come to visit go through formal channels. After purchasing a visit ticket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, take the scenic sightseeing bus to visit the panoramic platform. This scenic spot is quite special in that it belongs to the military management area, so when we came, we visited from the viewing platform. After seeing the panoramic view of the launch site, we also went to the exhibition hall. The exhibition hall is 4 kilometers away from the parking lot and you have to drive there yourself. When we arrived at the exhibition hall, we saw rockets and satellite models. We even saw rocket engines. 😁 We had a great time along the way, and the service attitude of the reception staff in the scenic area was particularly good. Long live the motherland's aerospace industry

Girls may not like this place very much~hahaha~

By China-TravelNote users |

The entire launch site was truly impressive, boasting the perfect timing, location, and personnel. According to experts, the launch site's focus is on low altitude. With a well-selected location and a strong leadership and technical team, the launch is guaranteed to be a success. The Xichang Satellite Launch Base's location is a surefire way to success. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, the two launch pads sit in the center of a divine hand, a Taoist hand seal. It truly was a snap of the fingers that sent Chang'e and her Yutu chariot directly to the moon! Combining traditional feng shui with modern technology, the 380,000-mile journey from Earth to the Moon was a snap of the fingers. The development of the moon is imminent, and the transport vehicle that carried Chang'e and her Yutu chariot to the moon was witnessed at the Moon Bent Tower.

By Knowing is knowing |

Tickets are a bit pricey, 100 yuan per person. The launch site was relatively unpopular when we visited, and the guides were very professional. However, the launch site itself can only be viewed from a distance from the observation deck, and the museum lacks any real artifacts. Overall, it's not worth going, but it would be a shame not to go.

By moaning |

It's a high-tech place. Every time a satellite is launched, the ground shakes. It's really worth seeing!

By Dreams come true |

It's shocking, and very educational to observe.

By The dream of traveling across China |

It is 60 kilometers away from the city of Xichang. There are real retired satellites in the exhibition hall, which is a good place for patriotism education. The launch center is in the mountains and is very impressive. It is worth a visit.

By Idlers |

The satellite launch is worth a visit to see my country's space industry. I went there with excitement and was deeply impressed by what I saw!

By Lake on the plateau |

The Xichang Satellite Launch Center is a must-see for any visitor to Xichang. It offers a chance to unravel the mysteries shrouding the city, revealing how satellite rockets are tested, how they are installed on the launch tower, and what the tower itself looks like. It's a fantastic base for popular science education, and it's also a great place for national defense and patriotism education! It's worth a visit with children, and witnessing a satellite launch in person is a truly remarkable experience!

By Furry Rabbit Paper |

I came here with a patriotic heart, but I personally feel it is not worth it. The ticket price is 100 yuan per person, and you can only watch from the outside and cannot go inside. There is also a Chang'e Palace that you need to visit with a ticket, which is full of debris left after the launch.

By Line shape and color |

What you see is not the scenery, but the history. Personally, I think the decline of Xichang Center due to geographical limitations is inevitable.

By Poppy Love |

Bring your ID card to visit the satellite launch base for free and experience its grandeur.

By hanthbj |

It is very shocking to see the launch site of China's great space project up close.

By China-TravelNote user 78121716 |

I regretted it once I went, and I regretted it even more after I went. The tickets are expensive and it's meaningless.

By My name is Black Knife |

Xichang Satellite Launch Center is a nationally renowned location in Xichang City. It's much easier to get to than the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. Highly recommended.

By Love to touch the night screw |

Not very pretty...

By Yafu |

There is an open area where you can see the launch tower up close, or you can go to the exhibition hall to learn about the launch history and popular science knowledge. The ticket price is a bit expensive, it seems that it is rare.

By A wolf from the northwest |

This spot feels average, just a few buildings.

By rice grains |

I've only seen it on TV, so I'm very curious about this place. It's definitely worth a visit!

By Cosmo |

There used to be an observation deck inside that you could go in and see, but it is now blocked and you can only go in by locals, which costs almost 10 yuan per person. You can see the entire launch pad from the mountain next to the base.

By Shi Yumei |

It was a long journey, and I spent 18 hours just to watch those few seconds of the launch.

By My childhood |

You cannot enter the core base during the visit, you can only take a bus to the observation deck to view it from a distance

By Gray practice |

Very good! If there is no launch mission, you can go inside to visit

By Bruce |

It is very unique. If there is no launch mission, you can visit it inside. If there is a mission, you can only look at it from the outside.

By sx911 |

We went there on October 2, 2015, on our way from Panzhihua to Chengdu. When we arrived at the scenic spot, we were told that there was a mission that day and it was not open to the public. We could only view it from a distance outside the gate. Then we went to visit the Chang'e 3 Exhibition Hall.

By Handwave user 10451205 |

Not good. It's remote, and after descending from Manshuiwan, I felt a sense of poverty all the way. The facilities within the base are average, and the roads and fences are nothing to write home about. I didn't find them particularly impressive. The service was basic, which was within my expectations.
