Tianjin University (Weijin Road Campus)

Tianjin University and Nankai University are neighbors, both located in Balitai. Tianjin University was arguably China's first government-run university. Although this isn't the original site of the original campus, there's a memorial pavilion at the entrance. The buildings within Tianjin University, mostly built in the 1950s and 1960s, appear somewhat dated, yet possess a rich history. There used to be a snack street between Tianjin University and Nankai University, but it was later demolished. A gate now separates the two campuses, allowing for free access.

Tianjin University, formerly known as the Beiyang Public School, along with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, formerly known as the Nanyang Public School, are among China's earliest modern universities, spanning three centuries of history. The memorial pavilion in the center of the university displays the school's first graduation diploma, awarded to Wang Chonghui, who later served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nationalist government. The diploma bears not only the student's name, but also the names of his father and grandfather! This truly embodies the meaning of "bringing honor to one's ancestors"!

Today, Tianjin University, like the city of Tianjin, has been completely overshadowed by the nearby capital, Beijing. Its status and level are no longer the same as they were in the past.

Tianjin University is located at 92 Weijin Road, Nankai District, Tianjin. Founded on October 2, 1895, it is China's first modern university. A stone tablet on campus reads: Ma Yinchu entered Tianjin Beiyang University (renamed Tianjin University in 1951) in 1901, majoring in mining and metallurgy. He graduated with honors in 1907 and was recommended by the Qing government to study at Yale University in the United States on government scholarship. (Tianjin University teaching building.) On September 22, 1951, Beiyang University merged with Hebei Institute of Technology to become Tianjin University.

It is a century-old school. Tianjin University and Nankai University are neighbors. I ride my bike all the way from Tianjin University to Nankai University and circle the campus. I like Tianjin University’s campus more and I like riding my bike across the small bridge to the other side of the river.

It depends on the individual. The university environment is very good. If you like to visit famous schools, you can go and visit and feel the atmosphere.

After passing an intersection on Jingye Road, I turned into Mingde Road. What caught my eye was the 24th Teaching Building, which is the teaching building of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering. There were many roses planted downstairs (? ). The green leaves and red flowers complemented the teaching building. I don’t know if it was the sound of reading that embellished the roses’ dreams, or the fragrance of the flowers that drifted into the hearts of the students.



The teaching buildings along Mingde Road made me deeply intoxicated in this ancient school with a history of more than a hundred years.

I planned to take the postgraduate entrance examination in 2013 and moved to Tianjin. I borrowed the library of Tianjin University for half a year to prepare for the exam. I spent most of the time in the Yifu Library. I also went to Building 26, which has very new hardware, Building 23, which is relatively old, and Building 8, an even older building with Tianjin historical style, the main building of the Department of Architecture. I will never forget these six months. I arrived at the library on time at six o'clock every morning and it closed at eleven o'clock in the middle of the night. It was fifteen minutes after I got to the school gate. I found that there were so many stalls selling midnight snacks at the door. I bought some almost every day and took them back to the rental house. I slept after eating, so I gained a lot of weight in the past six months. I will never forget the days when I met many fellow postgraduate students in the past six months and helped each other and worked hard together. I almost regarded this place as my second alma mater. Studying, eating, receiving express deliveries, everything was the same as the four years in college, except that I borrowed the resources of Tianjin University. Thank you teachers and classmates of this school for your understanding.

I always visit the university wherever I go. It's a great school. Quiet and cozy!

Tianjin University and Nankai University are connected. I had a meal in Tianjin University's third cafeteria. My daughter's braised pork ribs rice was better than my fish-flavored shredded pork rice. Beiyang Academy is right at Tianjin University's north gate, and there are many buses nearby.

The campus is very nice and large. The scenery is beautiful. Tianjin University is very close to Nankai University. You can basically walk through the same gate of Nankai University and you're right there!

I took the subway to Tianjin University. I saw a banner promoting the postgraduate entrance exam. It just so happened that the exam was taking place. Good luck to everyone! The school is a great place. The hot water I just installed at the hotel is no longer hot, but I didn't expect the teaching building to have hot water. Even drinks are hard to buy in the north in winter; everyone craves hot water. Some of the buildings at Tianjin University are very old, while others are very modern. Since everyone's still taking exams, the campus is quite deserted. My mom and I felt like parents taking their children to study for the postgraduate entrance exams. Those taking the exams are incredibly hard. I hope you all get into your dream university. Good luck! I could see the Tianjin Tower from a distance at Tianjin University. Winter in the north can be really desolate, unlike Guangzhou where the trees are always lush and green. The lake at Tianjin University was practically frozen. I ran into an old man fishing, and my mom actually struck up a conversation with him. At Tianjin University, my mom and I tried taking panoramic photos. We tried to capture multiple mothers in one shot, but ultimately failed. While the postgraduate entrance exams were still taking place, we went to the cafeteria to eat. What a strong dish! Really salty, not really suited to southern palates. Halfway through, students preparing for postgraduate entrance exams arrived for lunch. Many people ate while reviewing, and many parents brought their own hearty lunches to eat with their children. It felt like the college entrance exams.

Moving forward, we reach Tianjin University, erm, Tianda. It's easy to get in, probably because it's open to the public. I strolled through other universities and came to the Feng Jicai Literature and Art Center. Other universities are not shy either, so I went in to take a look. Art universities are different, just like architecture universities. There are some older buildings, probably Soviet-style buildings after the liberation. There are even older ones, but I didn't pass by them... The latitude is different, and the grass is still green! Needless to say, the big roof is very Chinese. Tianjin University is Beiyang University. The first Western-style university in China, a product of the Westernization Movement.

In April, Tianjin University celebrates its Begonia Festival. Pink petals fall in clumps in the wind. In April, Tianjin University boasts not only crabapples but also roses. On weekends, there are many aunts and uncles playing diabolo and shuttlecock, which is quite novel for children in the south.

The school is adjacent to Nankai University. There is no subway nearby, so the transportation is quite convenient.

My original goal for the postgraduate entrance exam was to study at Tianjin University. I even went there before the exam. When I went there in early 2015, I didn't dare to go in. I even lingered for a long time at the KFC at the back gate of Tianjin University. I was so young. The most famous building in the school is probably the Beiyang University Hall. Inside the university hall is engraved the first university graduation certificate in China - the graduation certificate of Tianjin University's outstanding alumnus Wang Chonghui, but I didn't take a photo.

Tianjin University is older, with thicker trees and older buildings. It has a river as its central axis, with libraries, teaching buildings, dormitories, etc. on both sides. It's great to be young. If I could live my university life again, I would definitely make it more exciting.

The architecture of Tianda and Nankai is completely different. It is said that they are good at pitting their teammates. Haha, just kidding. The two famous universities are only one street away and have been together for a hundred years. How happy!

I walked all the way from Nankai University to Tianjin University in the heavy smog. It was tiring. At first glance, it was a school with a strong academic atmosphere and a strong sense of history.

His name and birth and death dates are inscribed beneath the stone.

To the north of Beiyang Square stands the Ninth Teaching Building, a quaint building with gray walls and green tiles. In the lawn in front of Tianjin University's landmark Ninth Teaching Building stands a seemingly ordinary tree, yet it is truly extraordinary. This is China's first Newton apple tree, planted directly from a branch of wood from Newton's former residence. The tree is thriving at Tianjin University and has already produced fruit.

In a corner of the campus, there is a gymnasium with a square shape, golden curtain walls and a glass lobby. It is particularly eye-catching because of its exterior color.

The school is quite large. I went there in the morning. Nearby residents were doing morning exercises, roller skating. It was quite lively.

The cultural atmosphere is quite strong, and it is a neighbor of Nankai University.

Tianjin University's old campus is adjacent to Nankai University, so it's nice to go inside and experience the university atmosphere. Outside Tianjin University, there's a place called Ersaozi Jianbingguozi (a Chinese pancake shop) that was once on Day Day Up. Their pancakes are more expensive than regular ones, but they taste pretty good.

Upon entering Tianjin University, I was immediately greeted by a breathtaking natural atmosphere. Perhaps because it was summer vacation, the sight of students walking to and from school in groups of three or four was rare. Instead, it seemed more like nearby residents were strolling and exercising with their children and elderly parents, as well as tourists like me. The campus is vast, with some buildings quite old. The mottled bark of the towering trees bears witness to the vicissitudes of life, and the cobblestone pavements are also ancient—all traces of the history of this century-old institution. Because of its age, the campus felt a bit like something out of the movie "A Love So Beautiful": everything feels old, yet evokes a sense of nostalgia.

There is a small pond in the school. On both sides of the pond are trees with drooping branches, which are prosperous and luxuriant. A simple small pavilion is deep in the lake. On it are engraved four big characters: "Seek truth from facts". This reminds everyone who sees it to pursue the spirit of seeking truth from facts. The beautiful scenery on both sides of the lake is reflected in the lake.

Tianjin University is the top university in Tianjin, and its environment, educational facilities and humanistic environment are all first-class.

If you have been to Tianjin University, you will feel the coexistence of modernity and history. There are both newly built buildings in recent years and buildings left over from the Beiyang Academy.

Tianjin University has five cafeterias, which really shocked me. My friends told me the food there was super cheap, but after trying it myself, I found that wasn't the case. The prices at the five cafeterias varied greatly. The one I went to was relatively expensive, and the food wasn't very tasty.

My most memorable experience was seeing the crabapple blossoms during the Tianda Begonia Festival. The entire campus was covered in them, absolutely stunning. Um, the pictures are all on other phones, so I can't display them. A gust of wind blew, and the sight of the crabapple blossoms floating in the air was simply stunning. My Chinese is so poor, I'm at a loss for words, and I can't think of a better way to describe it.

Tianjin University's dormitories actually have a very nice feel, especially at night, when they're quiet and relaxing. Would I say they're suitable for couples to spend time together?

Needless to say, the humanistic environment is excellent. As an institution of higher learning, the campus environment is very good, civilized, and loving. There are also many top students and academic gurus. Even the poor students say they like this atmosphere very much.

Since I studied at the Southern Medical University Shunde Campus, I have never seen a university more beautiful than my school. Overall, I feel it is just average. It is quite close to Tianta and Nankai University.

Although it's not far from home, I rarely visit here. This year marks the school's 120th anniversary. Flowers and flags can be seen on campus, and it's a peaceful afternoon spent in this ancient campus.

It's one of the top universities for Tianjin students who don't want to study outside the province (since Nankai University is also available). The campus is vast, and walking around it takes quite a while. There's a monument-like building on campus with the words "Beiyang Academy" written on it, giving it a sense of age.

Tianjin University is really huge and the scenery is really nice. A lot of people came here and it was just in time for me to take graduation photos. It reminded me of when I graduated, I also wore my bachelor's gown and took a lot of photos at school.

During the Qingming Festival, many visitors came to Tianjin University to see the crabapple blossoms. It happened to be the university's crabapple festival, and the vast expanse of blossoms was truly stunning. The crabapple blossoms were concentrated along Mingde Road, and the trees were quite old. Apart from the blossoms, the rest of the scenery during this season was quite unsatisfactory.

When visiting a city, you must visit its prestigious universities. Tianjin University, the first modern university in China, is a living piece of history. As an older campus, it's mostly old buildings, and the overall facilities aren't as good as some other universities, but it's still very beautiful. The school is full of crabapples, and they hold a crabapple festival every April. Located in the southernmost part of the city, it's adjacent to Nankai University. These two prestigious universities will leave you with a deep impression.

Take bus No. 8 from the train station to the East Gate (main gate), or bus No. 50 to the North Gate. The campus has four unique small lakes. Watching the sunset from the Qiushi Pavilion at Jingye Lake is truly romantic. Don't just think of this place as a tourist attraction; honestly, it's not as beautiful as other places. Experience its history, feel its culture, and connect with its people. If you have the chance, visit the University History Museum and the Wang Xuezhong Art Museum. I'm sure you'll leave with more than just a passing visit.

In Guangzhou, when you walk into Sun Yat-sen University, you feel as if you've escaped the bustling city, distanced yourself from all noise, and stepped into a magical forest. But in Tianjin, when you walk into Tianjin University, you simply feel the perfect fusion of city and campus. Walking along the Tianjin University campus, you'd think you were just walking down an ordinary street. Tianjin University is a perfect fusion of campus and city.

Founded in 1895, the university was formerly known as Beiyang University. The library and teaching buildings each have their own unique feel. When writing about my alma mater, even if it's just about the scenery, it's inevitable that I overestimate the school due to sentimentality, and sometimes underestimate it due to familiarity. I'll try to be as objective as possible. Tianjin University's most famous sight is probably the crabapple blossom season in early April each year. The exact timing varies depending on the season and temperature. For example, in 2013, due to a cold snap, the flowers didn't bloom until May, whereas they normally bloom in early April. The crabapple blossoms are short-lived, so they don't last long. Since they haven't become a major attraction like the Wuhan University Cherry Blossom Festival, there's no admission fee, so the crowds aren't huge. Most visitors are Tianjin University students and Tianjin locals. Weekend afternoons are a bit more crowded, with some stylishly dressed women taking artistic photos. I once saw a girl in a typical Republican-era school uniform and a Love Live cosplayer. The rest of the time, there are almost no people, especially at night, when the only people are students. I personally think the crabapple blossoms are beautiful at night, too. Tianjin University is also famous for its four lakes. Although they are not considered high-end scenery, it is still quite pleasant to sit here and enjoy the breeze on a summer night. Tianjin University is famous for its architecture, especially because it participated in the construction of the Bird's Nest. This can be slightly reflected in Tianjin University's own buildings, namely the 26th Teaching Building and the new gymnasium. The 26th Teaching Building is the huge connected building on the west side after entering from the north gate, which is connected to the gate of Nankai University. The new gymnasium is located in the northeast corner of the school. It is also called the Earth Cube. Hearing this name, I think everyone can probably imagine what the gymnasium looks like. Later, I visited many universities, both domestic and foreign, in the south and north, and witnessed many spectacular and beautiful sights. Sometimes I complained about why Tianjin University didn't have so many green trees, seaside views, classical architecture, or extensive woods. But after each visit, I calmed down and reflected, comparing them, and found that they all had different kinds of beauty. It's just that when you get used to one, you always yearn for another. Tianjin University's scenery isn't as captivating as many other universities at first sight, but it still has unique characteristics that make you stop and savor them. Because it's my alma mater, I'm saying a few more words about it, hoping to attract more people to visit Tianjin University when they come to Tianjin.

Very cultural atmosphere, a great school.

Tianjin University is generally better than Nankai University. Some of its buildings have their own characteristics, and the campus is really big.

Tianjin University, formerly Beiyang University, was founded in 1895 with the motto of "seeking truth from facts".

I walked around to the School of Pharmacy behind the Nankai University office building and through the gate there, I found myself at Tianjin University. It was very convenient. I only realized upon entering Tianjin University that I was there on the same day as the new student registration. I remembered my own registration day, which was similarly overwhelming and hectic. China's first university is now Tianjin University.

It's right next to Nankai University, and the two schools are connected, so you can explore both. The campus is beautifully landscaped and quite large! Tianjin University, China's first modern university, upholds the motto of "Seeking Truth from Facts." The campus exudes a scholarly atmosphere, and the historic buildings are truly eye-catching. Upon entering, you'll find a spacious plaza and lawn. Although the leaves have fallen, you can still imagine the lush greenery of summer, as these trees have accompanied Tianjin University all the way from Beiyang University Hall, giving you a sense of the century-old atmosphere. There are several lakes on campus, and the reeds lining them are truly beautiful. It was an absolute pleasure to complete my studies at Tianjin University.

Location: Downtown Tianjin. Taxis are very cheap in downtown Tianjin and you can take a taxi there.

Scenery: University scenery, snowy landscapes. When I visited Tianjin University, it was snowing. The lake was completely frozen, covered in a thick layer of snow. The ground was white, the sky was azure, and the reeds swayed in the sunlight. The scenery was like a painting. Tianjin University's campus is quite large, so it takes quite a bit of walking to get around.

Tip: When it snows, the outdoor temperature is very low. It is recommended to buy shoes with furry lining, as your feet will become lumpy after walking outside for a while.

Students who enjoy visiting universities should not miss Tianjin University. In the spring, the Tiandaweijin Road neighborhood has a crabapple season, and the crabapples are in full bloom. Currently, motor vehicles are charged to enter the campus, but there are no restrictions for bicycles and pedestrians. Tianjin University and Nanjing University are adjacent, and Nanjing University can be entered from the Tiannan University Joint Building.

This is a very nice campus. The old buildings are well-preserved, and the new buildings have distinctive designs. It feels vibrant, especially compared to nearby Nankai University.

Entering Tianjin University, one is greeted by the expansive Beiyang Square. Tianjin is not a city short of water, and this characteristic is evident on the university campus.

I just passed by and didn't have the chance to go in and take a look. Hehe, it's a pity. I'll go in and experience it next time I come to Tianjin.
