Basong Co means "green water" in Tibetan. It is a famous sacred lake of the Red Sect. Every year on April 15 of the Tibetan calendar, which is around June 1, many locals come to circumambulate the lake.
There is a Zhaxi Island in the center of Basongcuo Lake, which can be visited by sightseeing yacht. The Cozong Gongba Temple on the island is a famous Red Sect temple in Tibet. It was built in the late Tang Dynasty. On the left and right sides of the entrance are wooden sculptures of male and female genitals. The god of fertility is the patron saint of plateau residents, blessing the health and happiness of themselves and their families.
Basong Co has excellent outdoor hiking conditions, and you can choose to stay near the lake or camp.

The weather was not good when I first arrived at Basongcuo. The scenery is very beautiful. If the sky was clear and there were reflections on the lake, it would definitely be more beautiful. The local tour group I signed up for 2 hours, and I could only walk around. The entrance to this scenic area is a very long and winding shopping mall. You must pass through the mall to enter the scenic area. The good scenery was a bit different before you even got in, but fortunately there was no forced consumption. There were Tibetan pigs foraging everywhere in the scenic area. The livestock here are basically very different from those in the mainland. Whether it is pigs, chickens, sheep, etc., they all retain their wild appearance. Personally, I feel that they have not evolved so thoroughly. There are snow-capped mountains on all sides, and the artistic conception is very good. There are a lot of fish in the lake, and it seems that not so much artificial fishing is done. You need to walk across a floating bridge to the island in the lake. There is a temple on the island, which is still worth a visit. Of course, if the weather is good, the scenery will definitely be a bonus.
Basongcuo's current tourist facilities are still insufficient, and there are relatively few ways for tourists to visit the lake, basically only the lake island, three viewing platforms and boat rides. Visitors on the lakeside road (which is not yet a closed loop) are separated by dense trees and it is difficult to see the lake view. The lakeside hiking trail currently under construction can solve this problem well.
We passed through a village and came to the lake, feeling the blue lake up close. Unfortunately, it was cloudy on the first day. The tranquil lake water made me feel that I should stay here for a few more days, and my mood would definitely become peaceful and sublime; I would forget the troubles of the world.
The first thing we did when we circled the lake was to follow the local custom and pile up our Mani piles by the lake.
Along the way around the lake, you can see various prayer flags, offerings, symbols, words...all left by the devout Tibetans on the shore of this holy lake.
The snow-capped mountains in the distance, the green holy lake, the prayer flags and Mani piles that we cannot fully understand, and a young man who is attracted by the mystery and yearns for the plateau.
There is also a cave for praying for children on the island, which is said to be very effective. Since we are not believers, we did not dare to worship and pray on our own, so we just visited it.
On the way back to Lhasa, we went to Basongcuo, a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect. The scenic area is relatively large. Considering the time, we chose to take the scenic sightseeing bus to Jieba Village first, then return to the lake island from Jieba Village, and finally return to the entrance. Climbing up the viewing tower, rows of village houses came into view. At this time, the sky was covered with white clouds, with only a circle of blue in the middle, casting a beam of light. The mountains were verdant, the lake was silent, and the smoke from the village was curling. Jieba Village, which was surrounded by mountains and rivers, also had a hint of Zen.
The most famous attraction on the way from Lhasa to Nyingchi is Basongcuo. In Tibetan, Cuo means lake. Basongcuo is actually nearly three hours away from Nyingchi-La Expressway. In addition to the entrance ticket, you need to take a shuttle bus to reach the central lake of the scenic area. In fact, the most important attractions of the entire scenic area are on the island in the lake. Two bridges have been built to enter and exit the island.
It is this small island with a temple for worship and a prayer pagoda. The scenery is quite beautiful. The blue lake and the snow-capped mountains make it a painting no matter how you take the photo. But it is not recommended because it is very time-consuming. In addition, such lakes and snow-capped mountains are not rare in Tibet. Basongcuo has just been made into a scenic spot. The ticket price in the peak season is not low and there are many people. There is no need to come here specially. Really, this is my sincere advice!
In winter, the snow blocks the mountain, so Namtso is no longer accessible. The group tour includes Basongcuo, which has very nice scenery. Unfortunately, it was cloudy when we went there, so the lake water was not very pretty, but it was still very green, which shows how beautiful it would be on a sunny day. The scenic sightseeing bus is not interesting, it only takes a quick trip to see two spots, and the bus ticket is not cheap. It is recommended to just walk around the lake, if the altitude sickness is not too severe; the toilets in the scenic area are very beautiful and clean as soon as you enter the gate.
Basongcuo, also known as Cogao Lake, means "green water" in Tibetan. It is about 18 kilometers long, with a lake area of about 27 square kilometers, a maximum depth of 120 meters, and a lake surface elevation of 3,480 meters. It is located in the high gorge and deep valley of the upper reaches of the Bahe River, about 36 kilometers away from Bahe Town, Gongbujiangda County. It is a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect. Basongcuo integrates snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, waterfalls, pastures, cultural relics, and famous temples. The scenery is different in four seasons, and there are many kinds of wild rare plants. It is a paradise on earth and has the reputation of "Little Switzerland".
Eating here is not a problem, there are still many restaurants, but you can bring some dry food in the scenic area, because there are almost no other stores except for a large hotel. The water of Basongcuo Lake is emerald green and clear. It is said that every spring, the surrounding flowers are in full bloom and the scenery is extremely pleasant. The lake is quiet, although it is a bit cold but there is no wind. Walk slowly and stop to look around, and feel the paradise on earth of Basongcuo. The best season for Basongcuo is autumn, when the sky is high and the air is clear. From the lakeshore to the mountains, the mountains and plains are full of forests, rich colors and quiet environment.
There is a Jieba Village in Basongcuo, which is a simple and ancient humanistic original ecology, and is also a fascinating place in Basongcuo. If you book a homestay there, you can drive into the scenic area, and then find a homestay in Jieba Village to stay for two days. We were short of time, so we just treated it as a tourist attraction. It is very famous, and the tickets are not cheap. After coming here, I was a little disappointed, mainly because the scenery is monotonous and the green lake is impressive.
Basongcuo, also known as Cogao Lake, means "green water" in Tibetan. The lake is over 3,700 meters above sea level and covers an area of over 6,000 mu. It is located in the high gorge and deep valley of the upper reaches of the Ba River, more than 50 kilometers away from Gongbujiangda County in Nyingchi Prefecture. It is a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect. Basongcuo was rated as a national scenic spot in 1994 and was listed as a world tourist attraction (spot) by the World Tourism Organization and a national 5A scenic spot.

Self-funded project: Basongcuo cruise 180 yuan/person (scan code on sightseeing bus 150 yuan/person), round trip from Lake Heart Island Pier to Forgotten Pier takes about 40 minutes. At present, the core attractions of Basongcuo Scenic Area are Lake Heart Island, Lake Heart Island Shore Plank Road, and Dachera Observation Deck. Xincuo, which is further inside, is not within the service scope of the scenic area. Tourists need to stay in the scenic area and go there at their own expense (the road conditions are very poor, carpooling 100 yuan/person, chartering 400-500 yuan/round trip).
……..Take the scenic area sightseeing bus for a one-day tour route: Take the sightseeing bus 10km from the scenic area visitor center to the southeast stop of Jieba Village. ……..The tourist center of Basongcuo Scenic Area is about 120km away from Linzhi Passenger Transport Center. There are 9 rural passenger buses from Linzhi Passenger Transport Center (starting from 8:00, it is difficult to be full in the off-season, and the journey is about 2 hours without taking the highway). Basongcuo Scenic Area is very small, and 3-4 hours is enough to visit the main core attractions. There is no problem with round-trip on the same day from Linzhi City (keep the driver's phone number in advance); you can also stay in a hotel or house in the scenic area and share a car/charter a car to visit Xincuo.
Basongcuo is the only natural landscape scenic spot among all the 5A-level scenic spots in Tibet, and it is also the only beautiful scenic spot that cannot be missed among the "Yicuo and Zaicuo" scenic spots in Tibet. It integrates snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, waterfalls, pastures, and cultural relics, and is known as "Little Switzerland".
The first 5A-level natural scenic spot in Tibet, Basongcuo is green, the kind of light jade-like green without impurities. The lake water is so clear that you can see schools of fish swimming two or three meters below. The surrounding green mountains are like dark blue, and the peaks are covered with snow that never melts all year round. The snow-capped mountains by the lake and the snow-capped mountains reflected on the lake are entangled with each other, continuous and spectacular! The ticket plus the transportation fee is 165 yuan. The transportation bus first goes to Jieba Village and gives 40 minutes. It can only go to a viewing platform halfway up the mountain. It cannot go deep into the village and the pier. Then take the original bus to go out to the tourist center of the lake island. There is no limit on the playing time here, and there is no limit on the return car number.
Basongcuo, ticket price: 170 yuan
The tour lasts 3 hours.
There is no doubt that the tickets are expensive. If it were not free in winter, I would not have chosen this place. There are too many lakes in Tibet, especially Yanghu Lake, which does not require tickets. I hope the local tourism department can change its mindset, make small profits but quick turnover, and build a good reputation first.
The beautiful and wonderful Zhaxi Island in the center is about 100 meters away from the shore. The reason why it is so wonderful is that according to legend, the island is a "hollow island", that is, the island is not connected to the bottom of the lake, but floats on the lake.
There is an ancient temple on this island. The information says that Basongcuo is a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect. I guess this ancient temple is also a Red Sect temple. After searching, it turned out that the temple was called Cuozong Gongba Temple, which was built in the late Tang Dynasty and is a famous Red Sect temple in Tibet. The outside of the temple is quite messy and full of fireworks. It is estimated that the managers are too lazy to take care of it before the peak of tourists. There is a temple store next to it that is also closed to prove this. We don’t know much about Buddhism. We were about to walk from the right side of the temple to the back to take a look. A man said to us in a hurry: Go from that side, the prayer wheel should be turned from that side. While speaking, he pointed to the left side of the temple. Only then did we realize that the Red Sect should turn the prayer wheel clockwise when turning the mountain and lake. We walked around the small temple clockwise, pushed the prayer wheel clockwise, returned to the square from the right side of the temple, and then went down to the lakeside from the other corner of the square. There is a viewing platform, like a large deck of a ship. Here you can enjoy the lake view from the balcony. The surrounding snow-capped mountains are reflected in the lake. The winter scenery makes everyone very happy.
It takes about two hours to drive from Bayi Town, Nyingchi to Basongcuo. When you arrive at the scenic spot, you can take a scenic bus to the island in the lake. Compared with many lakes in Tibet, Basongcuo is more like a plain lake. The lake water is milky green and leads to the snow-capped mountains in the distance. From the island in the lake, you can walk to a small hill and overlook the beautiful scenery of the entire Basongcuo.
Basong Co was one of the attractions we signed up for in a two-day tour group in Lhasa during our 2007 Qinghai-Tibet self-guided tour. It is convenient to reach the Basong Co scenic area with a group tour, but it is impossible to play in the scenic area. If you have a car, you can visit Zhongcuo Longba Co in the north and Xincuo in the east.
Unlike other larger holy lakes, the water of Basuncuo is blue with green, and the clear lake bottom view up close gives it a very Jiuzhaigou feel.
Basong Co, also known as Cogao Lake, means "green water" in Tibetan. The lake surface is more than 3,700 meters above sea level.
The water of Basongcuo Lake is crystal clear, and the snow-capped mountains surrounding it are reflected in it.
After entering the gate of the scenic area, you need to take the sightseeing bus in the scenic area to reach
We took a boat tour. The lake was very calm. When the boat reached the center of the lake, it stopped for about 10 minutes to take pictures. The scenery was very beautiful.
The scenery of Basongcuo is still good, and it takes about 2 hours overall.
It is indeed beautiful, but if you want to have an in-depth tour on the way from Linzhi to Tibet, you can stay one night at the entrance of the scenic spot.
You can see Basongcuo shortly after taking off from Lhasa. You have to sit in a left window seat to see it.
The lake is very beautiful, with different scenery depending on whether it rains or is sunny.
I personally think this place has been commercialized. Compared with other places in Tibet, the scenery here is relatively ordinary.
Beautiful. I like this kind of scenery. The water is super clear. Green~
It's very beautiful. It's snowing. Take a bus to the lake first, then walk to the island in the lake.
There are more and more transportation options in Linzhi. Linzhi also has shared cars, "Linzhi Car Rental", which is very convenient. It is very cheap to rent a car with a few friends, 388 yuan a day, and it is a regular rental company with complete insurance. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and peach blossoms are in full bloom.
The aunties who travel with the group usually just take a quick tour around the island in the middle of the lake and leave. In fact, the most beautiful viewing point of Basongcuo is at the Forgotten Pier Photography Platform, which can only be reached by boat. In addition, the Bailanggou deep in Basongcuo is super beautiful and requires a day.
Viewed from a high vantage point, the turquoise lake is calm and vast, and the isolated island in the middle of the lake adds the finishing touch to this beautiful landscape of snow-capped mountains and peaceful lake.
Basong Co. To be honest, I think the ticket price for Basong Co is too expensive, but the scenery is still good when it rains.
The clear water and green mountains are beautiful and peaceful, untainted by the world and better than a fairyland.
The blue sky, snow-capped mountains, pine forests, and clear water are tranquil and ethereal, like a fairyland, poetic and picturesque!
Except for the island in the middle of the lake, the others are not that amazing.
Basongcuo feels great, better than expected. The lake is beautiful, with many viewing platforms, large areas of rapeseed flowers and snow-capped mountains. It is really beautiful.
To go to Basongcuo Scenic Area, private cars have to park outside, and you can only buy the scenic area's sightseeing bus to enter. The bus fare is 50 yuan per person, and the driver is not exempt. Maybe because the weather is not particularly good, there is no shock of Yamdrok Lake.
The scenic area is not very big, but it is worth a visit! ! ! !
The scenery is really beautiful, the turquoise water is so... It makes me want to be artistic.
Basongcuo is one of the largest barrier lakes in eastern Tibet, with an altitude of 3,469 meters and a maximum depth of 120 meters. It is like a turquoise stone in the valley, with clear emerald green water all year round, beautiful and pleasant. It is said that standing on the island in the middle of the lake, you can feel the illusion of floating on the lake. I think you need to cultivate a higher level of enlightenment.
Green mountains and green waters - snow-capped mountains - water with layered colors is the beauty unique to Basongcuo~
The wind in Basongcuo is actually quite strong, but that's why the skirt is blown up!
The famous sacred lake of the Red Sect has beautiful scenery with snow-capped mountains in the distance and green water nearby. There is Zhaxi Island in the lake, and on the island there is the Tsozong Gongba Temple.
I think Basongcuo is the most worthwhile place to visit in Nyingchi! It's so beautiful! It's really worth this 5A scenic spot! After visiting the scenic spot, I strongly recommend taking a speedboat to tour the lake, because there is a viewing platform there, which is very special! If you don't take a yacht, you need to walk for 3 hours
There are many vendors selling various bracelets and pendants at the entrance of Basongcuo Scenic Spot. You have to hide and go around to get a photo. The ticket to the scenic spot includes the sightseeing bus fee. Everyone must take the sightseeing bus to enter the scenic spot. There are three stops in the scenic spot. The first and farthest stop is Jieba Village, followed by Snow Mountain and Zhaxi Island.
Super rip-off! Don't go there, the ticket is so expensive, 120 per person, and you have to take his sightseeing bus to enter and pay another 50 per person. If you want to take a boat, you have to pay another 180. After entering by bus, you only stop at two scenic spots and return! The first scenic spot is a pavilion in a stammering village on the mountain. You have to climb a lot of stairs to get up. Looking at the water in the distance, it is blocked a lot, and there is no beauty. The sightseeing bus driver himself said that there is nothing to see here and he will give you 30 minutes... The second scenic spot is the island in the middle of the lake, a small island in the middle of the water. Of course, you still have to go up and down and walk on the stairs for half a day, but there is still nothing to see. It's too ordinary. What? It's a rip-off. The scenery on the way out of the scenic area is not as beautiful as it was photographed. It's also a 5A-level scenic spot. You will definitely regret it if you go there! Don't waste money, conscience advice!
There are not many tourists here. The sunrise here is late. We left the hotel at 7:30, and the sun had not yet risen. We walked along the lake and felt refreshed.
It is really beautiful and fairy-like, with fairy mist lingering around, and it has the flavor of Jiangnan.
A bit of a rip-off. If you take a sightseeing bus into the scenic area, you can just take a quick look at the scenic spots. If you drive into the scenic area by yourself, you need an introduction to the accommodation inside. (I later found out when I chatted with the car rental guy that they can help take you in)
The sightseeing bus to Basongcuo only stops at two scenic spots. We only went to the first one, took a look and then hurriedly got on the sightseeing bus back. I guess it was because we were in Ali and our eyes were prying.
The autumn scenery of Basongcuo is still very good. After all, I didn’t go to Namtso and Yanghu Lake.
I first came here in 2006 and was mesmerized by its scenery. At that time, the island in the middle of the lake still had to be pulled by iron ropes to move forward. The management staff was nowhere to be found and we could not go to the island without opening the lock. The tour guide just lied to us that there were nuns living on the island. We did not have enough time to follow the travel agency, so we had to take a quick look. Then I drove there twice by myself. It turned out that there were many more landscapes there. You can also stay in the Jieba Village. For self-driving scenic spots, there is also a preferential policy of free driver tickets. The peach blossoms are even more beautiful when they are in full bloom.
Purely a sightseeing tour, no story.
When it comes to scenery, Basongcuo is definitely not as good as the three holy lakes. It should be due to local support. But it still looks like a 5A scenic spot, and the facilities and equipment in the scenic area are still very good.
One regret about visiting Basongcuo is that I forgot to go to the viewing platform to take a panoramic photo. In fact, I remembered it when I got off the sightseeing bus at the beginning, but I forgot it while playing. Mistake!
It had just rained that day, and the air was particularly fresh. White clouds hovered over the hills not far away. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and forests, with clear water winding around and cozy wooden Tibetan houses dotted around, this place is also known as the Little Switzerland of Tibet.
Basongcuo is higher in altitude than Nyingchi, so the temperature is lower. Looking at the snow-capped mountains outside the car window, we all put on thick clothes and hats before getting off the car.
Basongcuo is a large scenic spot. In addition to being a holy lake of the Red Sect, it is also a famous hiking destination in the outdoor circle. If you really want to hike there, you will need at least a week to fully explore it. This time we only visited the island in the middle of the lake, which was just a brief taste of the experience.
Compared with the three sacred lakes in Tibet: Namtso, Yamdrok Lake and Mapam Yumtso, Basongtso seems to be more hidden and low-key, but its status in the Red Sect is no lower than that of the three sacred lakes.
One of the main ways for tourists to visit Basongcuo is to take a boat trip. Next to the small island in the middle of the lake, Zaxi Island, is the boat dock. Zaxi Island is connected to the shore by two floating bridges.
It was almost dusk when we arrived, and the clouds were particularly thick, so the sun only shone on the lake for a short period of time.
Despite the absence of sunshine, Basongcuo is still breathtakingly beautiful.
The golden light on the lake indicates that the sun has not yet set. Looking at the clouds in the distance, based on experience, I infer that after the sun sets, the clouds will appear beautiful pink under the reflection of the sun.
So we didn't have time to eat, and without wearing hats, we just stayed by the lake, feeling the cold wind and waiting for the colorful sky after sunset.
Sure enough, after a while, the sky gradually changed from golden yellow to pink, which was a reward for hard work. Although at night, everyone said that the wind gave them a headache, I think it was worth it.
Basongcuo is only beautiful when there is plenty of sunshine. It was already evening when we went there, so we couldn't see much of the beautiful scenery, which was a bit regrettable.
You just need to stand there, and the beauty that surrounds you is enough to drown you. Water vapor, white mist, clouds and smoke. Meadows, spruce trees, and pine trees.
Here, you can choose to take a yacht and get close to the green water.
On the plateau, you will easily encounter such unpredictable changes. It may be sunny and windy, but suddenly a rain may appear in front of you.
In less than a quarter of an hour, the weather was fine again, a rainbow hung on the mountainside, and the graceful white clouds were reflected on the green hills, casting a mottled pattern.
There is an island in the middle of Basongcuo Lake, named Zaxi Island. Legend has it that the island is shaped like the heart of Amatsuomeijem, the goddess of Basongcuo Lake.
Because the lake god lives in the Dragon Palace under the island, the island is not connected to the bottom of the lake and floats on the lake, so it is a hollow island.
It is best to book a hotel in the scenic area, otherwise cars are not allowed to enter and you have to pay for a sightseeing bus. It is more convenient to drive your own car in the scenic area; it was cloudy that day, and the clouds were very thick, so the sunrise could not be seen, but the lake and the sea of clouds in the distant mountains were still very beautiful. Many of the prayer wheels in the temple were a little damaged, and some barley and other things inside leaked out. I saw a tree that is known as one of the temple’s several strange things. It is said that the leaves naturally form scripture characters? It seems that I am not lucky enough in Buddhism, and I really can’t see the characters.
It was already 4:30 in the afternoon when we arrived at Basongcuo. The weather was not good and it started to rain, but what else can we say? There is no place in life without scenery. The rainy day brought a feeling of deep love and rain. The rainbow after the rain was the icing on the cake and the finishing touch. This is God's will, thank God. There is a small island in the lake and a small temple on the island. There are no good attractions. We turned around and returned.
The water in Basongcuo is very special, it is mint green, and the surface is calm, as if covered by a carefully cut piece of silk. It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and vast grasslands, giving it a pristine scenery of a paradise.
The morning light is dim and the clouds have not yet cleared to reveal the sun. Basongcuo Lake still has a quiet and mysterious beauty.
With the sunshine, the lake water looks like emerald. Different from Yamdrok Lake and Namtso Lake, Basongtso Lake is more beautiful.
It was rainy all the time when we arrived at Basongcuo. We took a boat tour of the "Three Gorges" of Tibet and enjoyed the scenery that was different from Ali. Although there were still some shortcomings, it was still pretty good.
The service attitude of the sightseeing bus is particularly poor. It only stops at the lake island and Jieba Village and does not stop in the middle. Don't waste your money. Although the scenery is good, the service is too poor. Please make your own choice.
The sun had already set, and the weather was not good to begin with, so the lake view was greatly reduced in my eyes. So, I came to the island in the middle of the lake and walked around casually, thinking that I could come back tomorrow morning, so I was not in a hurry. In the middle of the night, I was awakened by the rumbling thunder and the sound of rain. My first thought was "It's over", and then I prayed for the sunrise tomorrow! In the end, "It's over", and God didn't give me any chance. The rain started in the middle of the night and continued until dawn. Although it gradually subsided, even if it stopped soon, it would take at least 10 o'clock to see the sun. Weighing the pros and cons, I decided to go to Lhasa. Leaving a little regret may become a reason to come again in the future.
After lunch, we went to Basongcuo, a paradise on earth. Due to the weather, we didn't see the most beautiful Basongcuo. We caught a little squirrel jumping around here. When we came out, we encountered the departure ceremony of the 318 self-driving tour. I hope everyone with a dream will stay on the road.
I had high expectations for Basongcuo, but after entering the park, I realized that to see the scenes in the photos, I had to pack my bags and hike for hours or even days on the rugged mountain roads to get there. If I just took a bus tour, there were only two attractions.
The scenery of Basongcuo is still very good. The water is jade green, which is the best among all the waters, but I still like the milky green of Lake Pukaki. It may also have something to do with the weather. Tibet has abundant clouds in the rainy season.
It is a floating island where the monks practiced in the past. Although the island is small, there are many stones for walking horses on it. Remember not to let others knock them down. Be careful of being cursed...
You need to change to the scenic area bus to go in for a tour. In fact, this is just an artificial reservoir formed by a dam. Although the scenery is not bad, it is completely unnecessary to visit such attractions in Tibet. The only highlight is this small island in the lake, which is said to be the birthplace of the Tibetan Red Sect.
The water of Basongcuo Lake is really blue, as if the entire sky is reflected on the water surface, and no camera can capture its beauty.
The weather was not good. It rained all the time when we were in Basongcuo. Fortunately, we saw a rainbow. Basongcuo may be a bit gray, not as stunning as imagined, but it is still pretty beautiful.
The ticket to Basongcuo is 120 yuan, and the driver also needs to buy a ticket, unless the driver is a Tibetan. Generally, Tibetan drivers in Tibet basically do not need to buy tickets, and only need to pay a garbage fee of 5 yuan at most. If the license plate is Tibetan A, no fee is required. Basongcuo, private cars are free of charge starting this year. In the past, a deposit of 200 yuan was required, which was refunded when leaving. This year, drivers need to buy tickets, and cars can be free of tickets, which is a disguised charge. After entering the scenic area, you need to take a sightseeing bus to play, and the ticket is 50 yuan. There are generally three stops on the way, namely the lake island, the viewing platform and Jieba Village. There are time regulations for all of them, but it is better to drive freely and have plenty of time.
Listening to the wind on Basongcuo Lake, the water is as green as jade and the sky is so blue that it seems like a miracle!
The looming snow-capped mountains are hard to reveal their true appearance, like a shy girl. The sea of clouds in the distance continues to roll, covering the snow-capped mountains of Basongcuo, but the general outline can be seen. The first sight of the lake is completely amazing. Looking down at the part of Basongcuo, what you see is so exquisite that you can't believe your eyes. The mountain tops steaming with clouds, the water surface interweaving milky white and emerald, the silky green grass, and the scattered Tibetan villages. Facing the present, I remembered that the driver said on the road that Basongcuo is a tear shed by an angel. I think it is true! Snow peaks, forests, grass slopes, and villages surround a jade-like lake in the alpine valley. The lake water is gray-green like jade without impurities, reflecting the dark green peaks. Basongcuo, like a crescent moon embedded in the embrace of the mountains, is unusually quiet at this time. The color of the lake is a color that you can never see in the mainland on weekdays. I smiled and said to my companion that if there is such a color in the mainland, it should be the result of some kind of pollution. The gentle eyes reach far away, and you can see all the beautiful things: white, gray, green, ..... appearing in front of you without a limit! The air here is very fresh, which makes us sigh at the tranquility and beauty of Basongcuo, as if we were in a fairyland on earth. The beautiful scenery of the lake in front of us enters our hearts in an instant, and the quiet emotions begin to grow in our bodies. The scenery here makes it easy for people to forget themselves and the hustle and bustle when watching. The water of Basongcuo is not only green but also clear to the bottom, just like a piece of jade presented in front of my eyes, with a panoramic view and no artificiality. Around the lake are high mountains shrouded and surrounded by clouds and mist. Basongcuo is embedded in this canyon, giving people a delicate and charming beauty. Along the way, the air is very fresh, and I breathe in the fresh air. The beautiful scenery here is shocking, the mountains and forests are lush, the green water is nestled against the green grass, the clouds and mist are entwined with the green mountains, and the lake is like a green belt surrounding the green mountains. The mountains are quiet, the lake is quiet, and there are occasional bird songs. Watching the beauty of the mountains and the lake is like watching the beauty of nature. Basongcuo is like a young girl who has just begun to fall in love, giving people a gentle and quiet feeling everywhere. Some people say that in Tibet, any lake can see such glacier blue colors, but Basongcuo can cleanse the soul so much. The clear lake surface makes people look deeper and deeper, and they don’t want to leave for a long time. This is the magic and the charm. The color of the water in Basongcuo in front of me seems to have no impurities and is so pure. Purity belongs to Basongcuo.
The locals told me that the snow-capped mountains in the distance are called "burning flames"! They said that you can see them when the sun is out! The next two photos were taken when we climbed to the observation deck of Jieba Village! The scenery is like a paradise! The ecological environment of the entire Basongcuo is very primitive. You must be careful and drive slowly on the road, because there will be Tibetan pigs, yaks, horses and even monkeys constantly appearing in front of your car! Basongcuo in the early morning is completely different from that in the evening. The clouds hang low on the hillside, as if you can reach them with just a stretch of your hand!
Basongcuo is a very important lake in Bon religion. It is said that circumambulating the lake can wash away most of the sins. There is also an important Nyingma temple in the center of the lake, which you can visit. But in terms of scenery, I think it is still a bit worse than Xincuo.
The lake and the island in the middle of the lake should be the main tourist attractions. You can take a boat tour or walk around the lake. I chose to walk. I think walking around the lake is a way to fully and meticulously appreciate the beautiful scenery. The route to walk around the lake starts from Cuojiu Village. There are Mani piles and white pagodas at the bridgehead of Cuojiu Village. It is a religious place that local Tibetans must visit after praying for blessings around the lake. To leave Cuojiu Village, you have to pass through a cycad forest. The trees in this forest are very old. You can't see the tops of many trees when you look up. Stay in the forest for a while, and you can faintly hear the sound of birds. The forest is very quiet, and every breath you take is a clean smell of soil. After leaving the forest, you will see a relatively open grassland, and then you will return to the main road. On the main road, you can see many prayer flags fluttering in the wind. The wind blows through the prayer flags, making the prayer flags flutter, as if someone is chanting scriptures and conveying their wishes to the sky. From here is the mountain road around the lake. On the way, I saw some local Tibetans stop to drink water. This is spring water brought down from the mountain. I also went to get a handful of water. It tasted very sweet and refreshing in summer. Then I followed some people to Buzhe Village. The most interesting thing about this village is that there are animal heads hanging everywhere. These animal heads with bones left are used as decorations. I am actually a little afraid of these decorations, but I think this kind of humanistic style is very unique. Crossing the lake with many strange stones is the legendary "Disaster Relief Cave". I didn't do any homework in advance, just listened to passers-by casually, and didn't know what kind of magical legends there were, but I also went to drill it. Then there is a "Child-Seeking Cave". As the name suggests, I don't have any requirements in this regard. I just take a look out of curiosity. Walk down to the pier by the lake and take a boat back to the speedboat pier. Finally, I stayed on the small island in the middle of the lake for a while. There was a Red Sect temple on the island. Except for Guru Padmasambhava, I couldn’t tell the difference among the other Buddha statues enshrined in the temple. I could only watch the fun as a layman.
This place has a low altitude, pleasant climate and beautiful scenery, and is known as Little Switzerland.
It is a famous sacred lake and holy place of the Red Sect.
The emerald green Basongcuo Lake is shrouded in mist, with green mountains on both sides facing each other. The peaks are magnificent, and there are fields, woods, medicinal herbs, flowers, cattle, piglets, and everything between heaven and earth is quiet and beautiful... There is the Cuozong Gongba Temple on the island in the middle of the lake.
There are many tourists, and the lake water is a little turbid. Unfortunately, the Jieba Village Observation Deck, where you can see the snow-capped mountains, only allows you to stay for 20 minutes.
If the water is calm, you can still see the reflection, like a fairyland. No wonder people say that Linzhi is the Jiangnan of Tibet.
The green lake water, shimmering with white light, is very beautiful to the naked eye, but the camera has its own ideas.
The scenic area integrates snow-capped mountains, lakes, forests, waterfalls, pastures, and famous temples.
The gentleness of spring, the passion of summer, the elegance of autumn, and the purity of winter. Whenever you come to Basongcuo, you will be captivated by its tranquil beauty and wonderful landscape painting. "National Forest Park, 5A-level Scenic Spot" is its best business card, and the elegant title of "Oriental Switzerland" is the ultimate praise for it.
Integration, every mountain and every river is full of affection, 360 degrees without dead angles, the beauty will make you fascinated. Here, you can enjoy the two famous mountains of Basongcuo, "King's Throne" and "Burning Flame" on the observation deck; you can also see peach-embracing pines and "letter trees" with naturally formed Tibetan letters on the leaves on Zaxi Island; you can also see another side of Tibetan religion in the ancient "Cuozong Gongba Temple" - fertility worship, which are placed on both sides of the temple stone steps, men on the left and women on the right...
