Ranwu Lake

Ranwu Lake means "goat milk lake" in Tibetan. It is located on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway about 89 km southwest of Basu County, Changdu Prefecture, Tibet. It is the main source of the Parlung Zangbo River, a tributary of the Yarlung Zangbo River.
There is the famous Laigu Glacier to the north of Ranwu Lake. The glacier extends to the lake. Whenever the ice and snow melt, the snow water flows into the lake, so that Ranwu Lake always has abundant water sources. There are green grasslands and lush crops beside Ranwu Lake, and there are vast forests on the hillsides near the lake. There are colorful rhododendrons and shrubs above, and there are overlapping snow-capped mountains that never melt all year round. With Ranwu Township as the boundary, Anmucuo, also called Lower Ranwu, is in the direction of Bomi, and Ranwu Lake, or Upper Ranwu, is in the direction of Zayu.

It rained heavily in Bomi early in the morning. When we drove to Sejila Mountain, we encountered a snowstorm and traffic jam. We thought our luck was terrible today and that the Midui Glacier and Ranwu Lake, which we were most looking forward to, would be ruined. But the weather suddenly cleared up at noon, and we encountered the most beautiful Ranwu Lake. People say that Ranwu Lake should be visited in summer, but I think the most beautiful scenery is in spring.

By Cold autumn night |

We arrived at Ranwu Lake at 3 pm. Under the strong direct sunlight, Ranwu Lake was not as beautiful as we imagined. Ranwu Lake in the evening is more beautiful than at noon. Surrounded by the green shadows of the mountains, Ranwu Lake looks particularly quiet and charming. The snow-capped peaks, green forests and blue sky are extremely charming. In the afternoon, I sat quietly by the lake, dazed, and thought about my thoughts. Because there were no clouds on this day, there was no sunset when the sun went down, which was a little regrettable. At 6 o'clock in the morning, we got up from the hotel and set off for Ranwu Lake. Maybe we got up too late. There was no sunrise at 6 o'clock, and the sun rose slowly. When we drove to the lake, the quiet lake was particularly beautiful. The snow-capped mountains on all sides were gradually illuminated by the sun, and the blue lake reflected the snow-capped mountains. It was completely different from the Ranwu Lake we saw the previous afternoon. It was very beautiful! There was an open area by the Ranwu Lake, a lush green lawn, and a stream flowing in a bay. There was no movement in the village, the lake was quiet, and the snow-capped mountains in the distance were particularly clear. We stopped briefly by the stream and set off towards the Midui Glacier.

Starting from Basu and heading south along the Shubera Mountains, about 100 kilometers away, there is a beautiful lake quietly located called Ranwu.

The lake, which covers an area of 27 square kilometers and stretches for 25 kilometers, is shaped like three pearls in a row, like a unique pearl hairpin, sandwiched between snow-capped peaks. The three lakes connected end to end are named Yangcuo (upper lake), Bangcuo (middle lake) and Lenganjiabucuo (lower lake). Among them, the most familiar one is Lenganjiabucuo beside National Highway 318.

When the water is calm, the sky, clouds, mountains and lake form a perfect reflection picture.

When the breeze blows gently, the sun covers the lake, and the water ripples are sparkling.

The Gangrigabu Snow Mountain in the southwest, the Azagongla Glacier in the south, and the meltwater from the Boshula Mountain in the northeast provide abundant water supply to the lake.

There are a large number of farmhouses scattered along the lake, and sturdy yaks are foraging leisurely.

The carefully constructed observation deck and several lakeside restaurants attract many tourists from afar.

Undoubtedly, Ranwu Lake is a place worth visiting in all seasons. Therefore, it is worth spending so much manpower and material resources to build the surrounding area (Smart Bee)

However, perhaps few people know that this was once a huge glacial valley formed by glacial action. More than 200 years ago, a large-scale landslide caused a large amount of rocks to pile up into a dam, blocking the Parlung Tsangpo River flowing through here, thus forming a huge barrier lake.

There is no data showing how long it took for the water from the impounded lake to break through the blocking stone and open up the river channel to the lower reaches of the Parlung Tsangpo River. There is also no data recording whether any village disappeared two hundred years ago.

The author did not find more details about that violent geological activity, but only one conclusion was clearly presented: Ranwu Lake was born and became the largest lake in eastern Tibet and one of the main sources of the Parlung Tsangpo River.

The extremely sensitive geological activities have outlined the extremely beautiful outline of Ranwu Lake. The beautiful scenery is like a souvenir that is sold dangerously and forcibly, which is hard to refuse and cannot be refused.

The beautiful Ranwu Lake was bathed in the morning sun, and the clear green water reflected the mountains on the other side. The mountains were covered with glittering white snow, and the lake surface extended smoothly to the other side of the mountains. Xiaopang and I stopped countless times, with no intention of leaving or riding. We sat, lay, leaned on our backs, and lingered by the lake, at the viewing point, and on the beach. We were lucky enough to be used as models by photography enthusiasts.

Ranwu Lake is probably the most difficult place to leave among all the new things I have come into contact with. The completely natural landscape gave me a visual impact, and I fell in love at first sight. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful natural landscape I have ever seen. Until now, Ranwu Lake has been quietly lying in every memory of mine, without any impurities or decorations.

Following the direction of Ranwu Lake, we rode at a very slow pace, like a fallen leaf on the water, forgetting that we had a destination. The green water of Ranwu Lake was sparkling on the left, and the high snow-capped mountains on both sides accompanied us all the way. The sky was flawless blue sky and white clouds, and there was a clear sound of wheels under our feet. The sun was shining, and a slight breeze passed by us...

By 💭 |

It was snowing heavily, and the lake's appearance could not be seen clearly. Only a vast expanse of green remained.

We stayed by the lake at night and had a meal by the fire in the cabin. Although it was the end of March, it was common for the temperature to drop below zero at night in Ranwu, which is 3,850 meters above sea level.

After the snow stops, Ranwu Lake presents a completely different scene.

There was no wind, and the shadows of the snow-capped mountains were reflected in the turquoise water of the lake. If you were not in a hurry, you could really sit by the lake for a whole day.

By ViVi |

Master Xiaobai said that when we see the rocks, we will arrive at Ranwu Lake. Sure enough, we soon saw the emerald Ranwu Lake lying quietly among the mountains and dense forests. The snow-capped mountains are rolling, surrounded by the clear sea of forests, the clouds are rolling and the lake is sparkling. Well, just basking in the sun, listening to the lake water hitting the beach, and looking at this picturesque scenery, it is a good time~

By Camel Balls |

We braved the cold wind and waited for the sunset. Unfortunately, the sky was not favorable and the sunset we expected did not appear. The next morning, my companions and I went to see Ranwu Lake. At dawn, the magnificent Laigu Glacier and a piece of blue lake water appeared in front of us. Ranwu Lake is beautiful!

Driving along the road along the shore of Ranwu Lake, when turning around the foot of a mountain, a fairyland suddenly jumped into the eyes: the snow-capped mountains were reflected on the quiet lake surface, the mountains and water were the same color, making people wonder whether the mountains were in the water or the water was on the mountains. This scene should not exist in the human world, it must be the fairyland descending to the mortal world! There are beautiful scenery everywhere, and the lake water is clear and blue, like a gem.

A tourist attraction that looks like a tourist attraction but is free of charge.

When I arrived, I was still a little shocked. There was no barrier to collect entrance fees? Even the "viewing platform" is a natural mountain top. It's unscientific...

However, my question may be answered in the near future. There are already many villas and hotels under construction by the lake, and land enclosure and development are just around the corner.

Ranwu Lake is emerald green in early summer, but soon it enters the rainy season and the rain washes a lot of mud into the lake, making it less beautiful.

The mountain behind Ranwu Lake is bulging like a steamed bun, with gullies forming the folds of the bun. The snow last night thickened the white cover on the top of the mountain. Sprinkle a few sesame seeds and it will be a perfect pan-fried bun.

The lack of tourism development has both advantages and disadvantages. For example, if you need to relieve yourself urgently, the only few simple public toilets by the lake are locked, and they seem to be just for show since no admission fee is charged.

But this place is too much like a tourist attraction, and everything looks like a public place. It is not good to relieve yourself anywhere. The ladies had no choice but to climb up the high hillside on the other side of the road and use the bushes as a lake view toilet...

By Garfield cat |

It must be summer when we passed by, the lake water was not the blue and green color as in some pictures, but the two people and a horse on a bamboo raft in the lake were quite artistic among the green plants in the mountains.

Ranwu Lake has a very large area and is divided into Upper Ranwu, Middle Ranwu and Lower Ranwu. It winds for 26 kilometers from the ancient glacier from top to bottom. It does not look like a lake but more like a long and narrow reservoir.

Because Ranwu Lake is close to Highway 318 and can be seen from the roadside, many tourists will rush along the road to the Lower Ranwu Observation Deck in excitement, thus missing the Upper Ranwu and Lower Ranwu. They should first turn left from Highway 318 to the southeast, go to the direction of Laigu Glacier, and enjoy the Upper Ranwu and Middle Ranwu along the lakeside highway.

At the foot of Anjiula Mountain, you can see the famous Ranwu Lake lying quietly. Ranwu Lake means "goat milk lake" in Tibetan, but the water is clear only from March to May, and becomes turbid after June. What we see is the yellow lake water.

By Little fat pig sunny |

The only light snowfall during the entire Tibet trip was when we came across Ranwu Lake. The fluttering snowflakes, like tears from heaven, dripped onto the lake surface and melted into the blue water, completing the nirvana and rebirth of a snowflake.

By GAGA |

Ranwu Lake is not a lake in the general sense. It is actually a barrier lake, so its state will change with the season and rainfall. It is most beautiful from March to May, when the water is clear and looks light blue. During the summer rainy season, the silt in the river increases and rushes into Ranwu Lake, turning it into this horrible appearance. It will not turn light blue again until November.

By La La & Ha Ha |

Ranwu Lake is divided into Upper Ranwu Lake and Lower Ranwu Lake. I personally prefer Lower Ranwu Lake. Maybe it’s because of the snow, Lower Ranwu Lake looks more lively.

By Caterpillar & Acne Dragon |

Ranwu Lake is located in the southwest corner of Basu. In Tibetan, it means "lake like goat milk". It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, so I imagined it to be similar to Lake Tekapo in New Zealand or Lake Louise in Canada. But the result disappointed me greatly. Not only did the snow on the top of the mountain melt away, but the lake water was actually gray, which was too different from what I imagined. Later I learned that it was because of the rainy season that a lot of mud was washed into the lake, causing the lake water to become turbid. Therefore, the best time to view Ranwu Lake should be spring and winter. Only after late autumn when there is no more rain and the snow-capped mountains no longer melt, will it present a refreshing blue.

By Master Yipiao |

Ranwu Lake is located in Ranwu Town, about 130 kilometers away from Bomi County. It is very famous, so famous that you will regret it for the rest of your life if you don't come. Not only did we come, but we also chose it as our accommodation tonight, which shows that we attach great importance to it. We arrived here around 6 o'clock in the afternoon, unloaded our luggage and came to the lake. But I must say that on the day we arrived, the mountains around Ranwu Lake in September were not as beautiful as they were without the heavy snow. The lake water looked like the Nujiang River without the blue sky, muddy and yellow. At this moment, the mythical image of Ranwu Lake in my heart collapsed. Perhaps this is unfair to Ranwu Lake. If we come in another season, it may still be a goddess in the eyes of others.

In the morning, the rain that had fallen all night finally stopped. The sun rose, and the lush forests along the lakeside road and the blue lake reflected the snow-capped mountains. The scenery was picturesque, and Ranwu Lake showed us its most beautiful appearance.

It is also the main source of the Parlung Zangbo River.

By Travel the World in the Sun |

Ranwu Lake is close to the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. The melting water from the surrounding snow-capped mountains is the main water source for Ranwu Lake, and it is also the upper source of the Yarlung Zangbo River. There is a large green meadow by the lake, shrubs and forests on the mountainside, and snow-capped peaks on the top of the mountain. But it is not as blue as imagined.

By King of Amy |

Ranwu Lake is the most intimate of all the holy lakes I saw during my trip to Qinghai-Tibet. The snow-capped mountains are just on the other side of the lake, seemingly within reach. There are also Tibetan families living by the lake, full of the atmosphere of life.

By Plato@Pandora |

Ranwu Lake is a green forest lake formed by glacier flow. It is divided into two parts in Ranwu Town. One part goes along the S road to the glacier, retaining the beauty of the original lake. The other part goes along the G318 National Highway along the tourist style. Until the lake becomes the Pasa Zangbo River.

By TravisChan |

If you have time, I would recommend spending 2-3 days at Ranwu Lake. You can go to see the stars at night, and it is also very suitable for friends who love photography. Ranwu Lake in summer has a different feeling than in winter, so it is very suitable to visit at any time.

By Ling Yu |

It is best to go in winter, the lake water is blue, in summer the water level rises and the color is so-so

By Jiao Youyou |

Not far from Ranwu Town, we passed the lower reaches of Ranwu Lake. A drone captured the quiet Ranwu Lake in the early morning.

By Star Traveler |

You must go to Ranwu Lake in spring or winter. Only in those months is the lake water green. When the rainy season comes, the water rushes in and turns muddy yellow.

By Know Autumn |

The viewing experience is a little worse in summer because the water is a little muddy, but it would be beautiful in winter!

By Snowball Dance |

The water of Ranniao Lake is clear only for a few months a year. If the water is clear, the reflection of the snow-capped mountains will be very beautiful.

By Seven Seas Ranger |

The winter in Ranwu Lake is clear and clean, with the snow-capped mountains and the lake complementing each other.

By The belly kissed by a wasp |

"Ranwu" means "a place where corpses are piled up" in Tibetan, but it is one of the most beautiful places on the southern Sichuan line. Perhaps the ancients meant that all beauty requires sacrifice.

By season love life |

Ranwu Lake is the place I least expected but I like it the most. The real thing is really 10,000 times more beautiful than the photo. Everything you see with your naked eyes is so pure. I lamented my poor skills and insufficient equipment the most.

By Lijiang Homestay Xiaohai |

In March, Ranwu Lake is still covered with ice and snow, which is breathtakingly beautiful!

By The article is not relevant to the topic |

I don’t know if it was because it rained the day before or for other reasons, but when we arrived at Ranwu Lake, the water was turbid. We didn’t see the clear blue-green water described by Zhang Xiaoyu. The turbid Ranwu Lake was not really beautiful.

By Ling Han |

It is a string of pearls dropped by God. It has both the delicate beauty of the southern lakes and the wildness of the plateau lakes. It is really impressive!

But when I came, the lake water was earthy yellow, lacking beauty, which disappointed me. Moreover, the lake surface was surging with ripples everywhere. My dream of taking pictures of the reflection of the snow-capped mountains was also shattered.

I was unwilling to give up, so I changed its color from khaki to sky blue to make up for the little regret in my heart.

By Left Lin Right Li |

It is 9.5 kilometers away from Ranwu Town, very close. Although it is a 2A scenic spot and it is winter, it is really beautiful, just like a landscape painting. It is very cold, but it is also really beautiful. I like this solemn and majestic beauty. What kind of clear water should it be in summer?

By Zeng Zheng |

Under the moonlight, the snow-capped mountains appear azure blue, and a thin layer of ice condenses on the surface of the lake, which does not form a good reflection, but gives it a more textured feel. Stars can be vaguely seen in the sky.

Continue walking along Ranwu Lake. Does the Ranwu Lake downstream feel like a small town at the foot of the Swiss Alps?

By Dream Good |

I had imagined Ranwu Lake to be very beautiful, and I had seen many photos of it online, but when we got to the lake, we were disappointed. We could see the reflection of the mountain on the opposite side, but the water was too muddy! Did we go there at the wrong time?

By Ethan |

Ranwu Lake is famous for its tranquility and blueness. Although the water is not very blue at this time, there are very few dead branches and debris in the lake. The grass, forest, autumn leaves and pebbles on the lakeside are picturesque.

By Shepherd |

The sounds here at Ranwu Lake are quiet and monotonous, with cold wind whistling in your ears and crows wailing miserably above your head, which makes people feel terrified.

By Piggy Bank |

The color of the lake water is blue-green, like very smooth jade. Brother Hao said that the water of Ranwu Lake is so beautiful only in this season every year. Ranwu Lake, 4,000 meters above sea level, is an undeveloped piece of pure land. It is adjacent to Yunnan and accompanied by the Laigu Glacier. It is like a flawless turquoise.

By Give you half a kiss |

We arranged our trip a little early, and the autumn colors were still fresh on the way. We only saw its beauty when we arrived at Ranwu. Ranwu Lake is a high mountain barrier lake with pleasant mountain scenery. Forests grow along the lakeshore, layer upon layer to the mountainside, and then to the top of the mountain with snow and fog. After autumn, the snow-capped mountains, lakes, colorful forests and autumn yellow meadows complement each other beautifully. The only regret is that the lake water may be muddy and yellow due to the recent rain and snow, so we can't see the picturesque reflection of the snow-capped mountains and forests.

By BLACK |

This season is not the best season to see Ranwu Lake. After the rainy season, the lake water is relatively turbid. Brother Shen said that Ranwu Lake will be very beautiful in March. If you have time in the future, you can choose to come and see it again in March.

By Miss Three |

When I came to Ranwu Lake, it was so beautiful! There is no entrance fee, there are several viewing spots, and you can also go down to the lake.

By Lancer |

In fact, the best time to view Ranwu Lake is before May every year. At this time, Ranwu Lake is very clear and tranquil, reflecting the surrounding snow-capped mountains, just like a picture of the Alps. However, after May, the ice and snow on both sides of the lake gradually melt, carrying mud and sand into the lake, making the lake water turbid, which is what we see this time.

By Drums |

I feel that Upper Ranwu is more beautiful than Lower Ranwu. The lake water in October is turbid yellow, and the surrounding area is colorful. The last time I went to Ranwu Lake was in May. The lake water was clear, but the surrounding colors were not as rich as they are now.

By Draw the Sword |

Ranwu Lake is famous for its tranquility and blueness. There are very few dead branches or debris in the lake, and the scenery around the lake is different. Ranwu Lake is very colorful, with grasslands, forests, autumn leaves, white waterfowl and colorful pebbles on the lakeshore, which are as fresh as a mirror.

When I came here, Ranwu Lake was all green, but now it has gradually changed into light yellow, shallow yellow, and dark yellow. It is colorful, with the snow-capped mountains as the background, like a fairy-tale world.

Because July, August and September are the rainy seasons and landslides occur frequently, the Ranwu Lake has not yet settled down in this season, so the water is turbid and there is a large wetland around it.

By Lazy |

Ranwu Lake is a paradise on earth sealed in the snow-capped peaks of Basu, Tibet, surrounded by high mountains on all sides.

It has formed low hills and gentle slopes of varying sizes, which can be called the most beautiful barrier lake in China.

No matter which season you come here, spring, summer, autumn or winter, you will see a refreshing picture.

By Ice without words/wx |

The lake was originally blue, with the forest reflected in it, and the water was crystal clear, but the sun was not showing up. Otherwise, the fairyland-like scenery would have made me reluctant to leave.

By HCL |

It was the rainy season when we went there, so the color of the lake was not that beautiful.

The Ranwu Lake in the morning would be more beautiful if it wasn't raining. It would be perfect if the color of the lake water was better, but the reflection of the snow-capped mountains and glaciers in the lake is still beautiful.

By China-TravelNote users |

The scenery of Ranwu Lake depends on the season. If it has been raining for a long time, the lake water will be turbid, which is also a feature! The stone pot fish in Ranwu Town is worth eating! The fish head is used for soup, and the fish body is used for stone pot fish. It is recommended to order about 3 fish for more people.

By Stars in the wind |

Ranwu is very cold in the morning and evening. Even with thick clouds in the sky, Ranwu Lake is still very beautiful without the blue sky.

Ranwu Lake is not an oval-shaped lake as we usually see, but a very long and narrow lake. You can see the beautiful scenery on the roadside, and there is no entrance fee.

I went to Nyingchi to see peach blossoms, but I didn't see the most beautiful peach blossoms, but I accidentally saw the most beautiful Ranwu Lake. The Ranwu Lake I saw was blue, but those who went at the wrong time saw it was dirty. The lake is as its name suggests, and there is nothing better than good.

Out of fear of altitude sickness, I had already traveled around Sichuan and Tibet and Yunnan and Tibet several times before going to Tibet. I had already developed a certain immunity to the blue sky, white clouds, snow-capped mountains and sacred lakes, so I was not too moved in Tibet. During the whole journey, compared with the scenery, what moved me most was the custom of Tibetan compatriots mentioned by the tour guide - brothers share wives, and the eldest brother's wife must be shared with the second and third brothers. At a time when the sharing economy is sweeping the world, when you are still riding the small yellow bikes, the ultimate fantasy of the sharing economy - sharing sisters-in-law - has long been realized in the place where peach blossoms are in full bloom.

The food always smells good in other people's bowls, the peach blossoms are always the beauty of the yard next door, and my sister-in-law is the warmth of my own home. Unfortunately, I was born in the first year of family planning and I don't have a brother.

Sister Rui, I think I’m dirty.

How can this mountain and this lake be so different?

At the moment, I can't accept it.

By Sea day, little red horse |

Under the reputation... the water is turbid... It seems that many people say that the water of Ranwu Lake is yellow, and I really caught up with it. But my wife told me that one of her colleagues had seen the beautiful Ranwu Lake. Fortunately, there is such a beautiful small village beside Ranwu Lake! It is worth the trip. Ranwu Lake is to take another road away from 318. At first, I thought I could continue to go to Bomi along Ranwu Lake, but I found out... Haha, turn around and come back. Ranwu Lake still depends on luck. It seems that not many people can win. Moreover, Ranwu Lake is not at the same level as the Yamdrok Yumtso and Namtso behind it, so... Fortunately, it won’t waste too much time. It’s okay to go there. But the small village is worth a visit!

By It's a little cutie |

Because of the rain, the originally clear lake water is slightly turbid, but it is still beautiful wherever you look.

By dxh3331 |

The vegetation of Ranwu Lake is quite lush, adding vitality to the bare mountains. I heard that in winter, the vegetation will be covered with white snow, which must be another unique sight. However, the water is a little turbid and without the contrast of the blue sky, it is slightly inferior.

By Great force brings about miracles |

To be fair, the scenery is average and the water in Ranwu Lake is very turbid.

By Infinite Heaven and Earth |

The Ranwu Lake in this season really looks like this, the water is yellow, and there is no snow on the surrounding mountains. This is the ugliest time of the Ranwu Lake!

By Sailingts |

I was a little disappointed. Ranwu Lake was not as colorful and fresh as the legend said. After the rainy season, the water of Ranwu Lake was yellow and not transparent, but it was okay with the blue sky and white clouds.

By Waiting for the Pigs |

Ranwu Lake is not famous, but G318 passes through it, so it has naturally become a tourist attraction. The water surface is narrow and long, with an area of 27 square kilometers. The water is turbid and not beautiful.

Because it is the rainy season, the water of Ranwu Lake is not so clear. I heard from my companions that when they came here before, Ranwu Lake was clear and transparent, and you can clearly see the rocks under the water.

Sitting quietly in a corner of the lake and daydreaming is beautiful enough to make people enjoy it. Ignoring the dazzling sunlight, listening to the sound of flowing water, breathing with the gentle breeze, you can't bear to leave.

It happened to be a rainy day when I arrived at Ranwu Lake. The blue sky and white clouds, snow-capped mountains and meadows did not show the splendor in my mind during the "rehearsal". Even using various filters could not perfectly show the beauty of Ranwu Lake, which is a great pity.

We came here twice, both times in autumn, the water was turbid. It is said that the clear blue water can only be seen in winter and early spring. Although the lake is not clear, as long as you get up early in the morning, you can still enjoy the natural mirror of nature. Fortunately, the trees on the mountain have turned into colorful forests, and the reflection on the lake is also quite beautiful. Ranwu Lake is divided into Upper and Lower Ranwu, and the altitude is not low. The scenery is actually nothing special, except for the looming snow-capped mountains on both sides of the lake, and the lake is not clear and the sky is not blue.

Ranwu Lake is not as blue as in the picture, but a little gray, but it does not affect its indifferent beauty.

Ranwu Lake is really beautiful. We waited so long to see the reflection of the snow-capped mountains on the calm lake surface. It felt very similar to the Matterhorn in Switzerland. Once again, we waited from cloudy days to bright sunshine and saw the snow-capped mountains. Lucky.

Ranwu Lake, located in Basu County and not far from Nyingchi City, is one of the famous scenic spots on Route 318. It does not require tickets and is the first scenic spot we planned to stop at. But when we arrived, we were a little disappointed because the lake water was very muddy due to heavy rain in the past few days. We did not stay for too long, thinking that the most abundant thing on the Ali Ring Road is Cuo, Cuo, Cuo, so we continued to Nyingchi.

The water of Ranwu Lake is turbid because of the rainy season. The scenery in winter and spring is magnificent. Because it is the wrong season, I can only appreciate it from the photo wall of the hotel. You don't know until you compare. Once you compare, there is a world of difference.

When entering Ranwu Lake, a huge banner "Heaven's Tears Turned into Ranwu Lake Water" spanned across National Highway 318, adding a mysterious color to this "Western Paradise". Near Ranwu Lake, there is a large wetland with colorful flowers on the meadow. The dog at home ran wildly and happily on the meadow after being unleashed. Ranwu Lake is very quiet. The sun shines through the clouds on the lake, leaving harmonious light and shadow. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the green mountains and the unmelted snow-capped mountains are located by the lake, like the guardian of the "Western Paradise". Probably because it rained a few days ago, the lake water lacked that touch of blue.

Ranwu Lake is close to the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. The lake is quiet and picturesque, making people feel like they are in a dream. Ranwu Lake is quiet and deep, nestled under the snow-capped mountains, quietly blooming its own appearance. Standing here, the mind is far away and open, and all the sorrows and troubles in the world disappear! The scenery along the way to Ranwu Lake is really beautiful. Every place wants to stay and is reluctant to leave. The color of the water is emerald green, winding between the mountains, accompanying the way, it is a visual feast.

Ranwu Lake has gained fame in recent years and has become a must-visit destination for self-driving drivers and photography enthusiasts along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.

Maybe we used up all our luck in the morning, and Wuhu Lake was completely shrouded in fog. We couldn't see her beautiful side at all, and we couldn't take any great photos. People say that photography is the art of "light and shadow". No matter how beautiful the scenery is, it is difficult to take beautiful pictures without the right light. We were unlucky that day. We came here from thousands of miles away but didn't get the favor of the sky. Not only was it a cloudy day, which is the most taboo when taking landscape photos, but it was also a "gloomy" day.

However, Ranwu Lake Scenic Area is one of my favorite scenic spots on the Yunnan-Tibet Line. As you can imagine, it must be super nice when the weather is clear!
