Guozigou Forest Park

Guozigou - Located in Yili, we passed Guozigou on the way from Nalati Grassland to Sayram Lake. The whole gully has river beaches and hillsides, which are full of wild apples and wild apricots. Herdsmen can be seen grazing everywhere, and flocks of sheep and horses are eating grass leisurely. Although it is mid-April this year, it has just snowed here due to a late spring cold snap. The mountains in the distance are still covered with snow. Some plants are beginning to show signs of recovery. It is about to be warm and flowers are blooming here. It is really worthy of the name of "Little Switzerland". It is very beautiful.

If you want to watch the sunrise, you can only choose to live near the scenic spot, and according to the guide, the ticket can be used to enter the scenic spot early the next morning to watch the sunrise. It was possible at that time, but we were lazy and did not go in the next day. I don't know if I can enter the scenic spot again after taking the scenic bus. There are plank roads at the bottom and top of the mountain. I didn't climb the mountain that day. I asked about it and said that it was originally 30 yuan. At that time, for some reason, the plank roads on both sides were charged a total of 10 yuan, and only going down or up the mountain would also charge 10 yuan. There is also an observation deck at the residence, where you can see the Guozigou Bridge. Xiao Lu helped us book a yurt before, but when we arrived, he said that the reservation was not confirmed. After a while, he arranged a yurt for us. Therefore, in the peak tourist season and places with few accommodation resources, you must confirm clearly when booking accommodation before. Worried about the large number of tourists and slow preparation of meals, we quickly booked dinner again. The ingredients were limited, and we ordered lamb for the main course. I have to say that the lamb in Xinjiang is really delicious. It was a bit novel for us to live in a big felt tent for the first time, and we had given everyone a "vaccination" before, so no one was picky about the accommodation conditions, but sharing a room would still affect the quality of sleep. If you don't care about watching the stars and the sunrise, and have certain requirements for accommodation conditions, you can consider not staying in the scenic area. I decided not to go into the scenic area to watch the sunrise the night before, so I thought I could climb the mountain to watch the sunrise the next day. It was too dark when I got up in the morning, and I didn't have the courage to climb the plank road on the mountain alone. In fact, it doesn't need to be too early. I dawdled for a while. When I bought the ticket and walked down the mountain, the gatekeeper said that it would be 20 minutes earlier to go up the mountain to watch the sunrise. The correct way to open the Guozigou Scenic Area is to go up the mountain to watch the sunrise first, and when you get down the mountain, the light and shadow at the bottom of the mountain are just right. We went down too early, and the sun hadn't come down yet.

Guozigou is the natural gateway to the Yili region and a famous canyon passage that leads to Sayram Lake in the north and the Yili River Valley in the south.



Exit the south gate of Sailimu Lake, do not take the highway, turn right and take the provincial road, and you will soon enter Guozigou.



Only a few kilometers away, you can see an overpass, but this is not the legendary Guozigou Bridge.



If you take the highway from the south gate of Sayram Lake and pass through the tunnel, you will pass this viaduct.



Continuing along the road, you can see many plank roads and observation decks. The ticket is 15 yuan, which is not expensive, but it is not worth it just to take a photo of the bridge.

Guozigou Bridge is the first cable-stayed bridge and the tallest bridge in Xinjiang. It is also the first highway steel truss cable-stayed bridge in the country.

I would like to emphasize the route to Guozigou. There is an inconspicuous intersection before the tunnel entrance from the highway. It is best to turn on the navigation and slow down in advance. If you go a little faster, you will easily miss the intersection, and you will be in trouble once you enter the tunnel.

Turn right from the intersection and enter the road to Guozigou Forest Park. Go uphill all the way, pass the south gate of Sailimu Lake, cross the pass, and the beautiful scenery of Guozigou will come into view.

By the way, the entrance to Guozigou Forest Park on the highway is under construction and there is no charge yet. Go a little further down the highway, and on the left side of the highway is the "Sai Limu Lake Xinyi Self-driving Campground", which is the only real hotel in Guozigou. The viewing platform of Guozigou Bridge is just opposite the hotel, so the location here is quite good, but the price is relatively high (more than 900). In addition, along the plank road behind the hotel, you can climb to the top of the mountain (Guozigou Golden Summit), where you can see the panoramic view of Sai Limu Lake and the sunrise. The itinerary was originally planned to stay here tonight, but the room was very tight and I didn't book it before departure.

Later, we changed to "Sai Li Mu Lake Yun Tian Zhi Dian Mountain Villa" and booked a bungalow (the yurt bunk bed was really unacceptable). It is located a little further down the road from Xinyi Self-driving Camp. Accommodation here is relatively concentrated, and there are several inns nearby.

The boss is easygoing and enthusiastic, but not very honest. We booked two standard bungalow rooms for 2 people, but he wanted the three of us to stay in one (also with a bunk bed, estimated to sleep 8 people), and only charged us for one room. But we insisted on staying in two rooms as booked, and he agreed. The reason is that this place is too popular, he gave the small room we booked to someone else, and the remaining two large rooms were actually booked by someone else, but they haven't arrived yet. The overall experience here is poor and the conditions are difficult. Although the toilet has been changed from the original dry toilet to a water flush, it is still terrible! The food in the kitchen is not very delicious. We didn't even wash our faces and feet that night, and slept in our clothes, so we didn't recommend this place. But it is said that his family's conditions are good in this area.

In addition, there are two hotels at the East Gate Visitor Center of Sailimu Lake, namely Bole Seaview Hotel and Bole Saihu Yunshang Hotel, but the prices are not cheap, and there are many negative reviews online, and the ratings are low.

Therefore, the accommodation conditions in the Sailimu Lake and Guozigou areas need to be improved urgently, and the relevant local management departments need to make great efforts. There is still a long way to go!

Now there are several plank roads in Guozigou. You need to buy a ticket to go there.

The ticket price seems to be 35. I bargained with the ticket seller and got 15 cheaper.

Guozigou is not as beautiful without the snow-capped mountains.

After seeing the signs for Guozigou Forest Park and Sailimu Lake, exit the highway and enter County Road 203. After a while, you will reach Guozigou Forest Park, but the forest park is not open yet in early April.

Guozigou, known as the first scenic spot in Yili, makes every traveler who comes to Xinjiang linger. The hillside along the way is also very beautiful, a bit like a small Switzerland, with many kinds of succulents. The herdsmen at the foot of the mountain will dig them up and sell them to tourists staying at their homes at prices ranging from 20 to 60. When we left, the boss saw that my eyes lit up when he saw the small pots of succulents all over the ground, so he gave me a few pots to take back.

We left Sailimu Lake in the afternoon and came to the Guozigou Observation Deck, where we could see the famous Guozigou Bridge and approach bridge up close.

I like Lake Serimu more, it is comparable to the scenery in Switzerland

It is said that Guozigou is very beautiful in spring and summer, with various fruit trees and flowers of various colors. When we came here, the mountains on both sides were all covered with white snow, which was very beautiful. I couldn't help but take pictures with my mobile phone. Little Bear reminded me not to rush to take pictures. It will be more beautiful later. As expected, the snow became thicker as we went deeper, until it reached my thighs.

I had the most fun in Guozigou, firstly because there was no charge and secondly because there were no tourists at all. We contracted a whole hilltop, running from one side to the other, and sliding down the hill with our own snow rings, walking in the deep snow, one foot deep and one foot shallow. The snow was sparkling, and it was the thickest snow I had ever seen. I was extremely excited. I played on the snow for more than an hour and was reluctant to leave when I left.

There is a wooden plank road on the roadside, which is quite new. It is probably a facility of the future Guozigou Forest Park. There are herdsmen guarding the entrance of the wooden plank road. It costs 10 yuan per person. Such wooden planks are built in two places. It is better to see the Guozigou Bridge from the wooden plank road. It is recommended to go to the wooden plank road on the top of the mountain. The road to the wooden plank road on the top of the mountain is relatively narrow. Pay attention to the safety of passing cars. There is a large parking lot above, so you don’t have to worry about having no place to park. The grass on the top of the mountain is full of locusts. It feels like a flood. Every step can startle a piece. There is abundant water and grass in Guozigou. Unlike the outside of the mountain, you can always find signs of drought. Here, grasslands and Tianshan spruce constitute the most typical mountain forest landform in Xinjiang.

Generally speaking, after seeing the beautiful Sailimu Lake, one would feel a little visual fatigue. However, Guozigou, which is connected to Sailimu Lake, is special. Although it is only a few minutes long, as soon as I get on the bridge, I can reach climax again. Guozigou Bridge can do that.

You can't park on the bridge, but fortunately, Master Wang used to drive a tank, and he couldn't help jumping on the bridge when he saw the stunning view. I used to practice women's aerobics. You may have seen similar bridges and similar views, but I think you have never seen such a natural combination of bridge and scenery. Whether you are on the bridge looking down, or looking down at the bridge, it is a beautiful picture.

Everyone says cleavage is beautiful, but Guozigou is more beautiful; everyone says Xiao Qiao is beautiful, but Guozigou Bridge is more beautiful.

Keep to the right when entering Guozigou Tunnel, and slow down when you reach the exit of the tunnel, as navigation will be greatly delayed in the tunnel. You will immediately see a construction road on the right hand side as soon as you exit the tunnel. Do not hesitate to drive in immediately, as the forest park is under construction. If you drive past it, you will have to take a long detour to turn back (long distance refers to 30km).

Guozigou Forest Park is surrounded by mountains. It may be that the park is under construction and lacks management. Originally, cars can go directly to the top of the mountain, where you can overlook Sailimu Lake, but local herdsmen will stop you and say: Cars are not allowed to go up, do you want to ride a horse? It costs more than 100 yuan per person. If you don't want to ride a horse, there is a wooden plank road on the other side to go up, which is estimated to take 40 minutes.

Going out of the south gate of Sailimu Lake is the "Guozigou Scenic Area". These two scenic areas are actually right next to each other. We also didn't have time to enter the Guozigou Forest Park Scenic Area. In fact, it is very beautiful to just enjoy the scenery on the roadside.

When talking about "Guozigou", we can't leave out "Guozigou Bridge".

The full name of Guozigou Bridge is Guozigou Double Tower Double Cable Plane Steel Truss Cable-stayed Bridge. The above-ground part of the bridge was poured on August 22, 2007. Guozigou Bridge is one of the key projects of the National Highway 045 Line Sailimu Lake to Guozigoukou Expressway Construction Project. The bridge is 700 meters long, with a net height of 200 meters from the bridge deck to the valley bottom. The main towers are 209 meters and 215.5 meters high respectively. The main bridge of the bridge is entirely made of steel truss structure, using 17,000 tons of domestic special bridge steel, and high-strength bolts are used for connection, and the installation accuracy is controlled within two millimeters. The bridge is the first cable-stayed bridge on the autonomous region's highway, and it is also the first double-tower double-cable steel truss cable-stayed bridge on the domestic highway.

I guess no one is interested in these technical terms, but they all come here for the stunning scenery brought by the Guozigou Bridge in the canyon.

Besides, there is a high viewing platform on the roadside. Most of my team members and I ran up there because there was no evening light when I came last time!

After enjoying the scenery and taking beautiful photos, I was as satisfied as my teammates and left Guozigou reluctantly.

No need to say anything! The environment is amazing, just take a look at the pictures!

Guozigou is the only place along the way suitable for photographing the starry sky. There are yurts set up under the dome, and when you look up you can see the sky full of stars.

But this is just an ideal.

We stepped in dog shit, but didn't catch any dog shit luck. The clouds were unusually thick that day, and we didn't wait for the sunset, nor did we miraculously welcome the sunrise.

Although I had some resentment, it didn't seem so bad when I came out wrapped in my coat and saw the sea of clouds in the mountains.

The water mist in the mountains gathers into clumps, changing into different shapes and concentrations in a short period of time.

When we just woke up, the clouds were thin and the Guozigou Bridge could be seen clearly and completely, but soon, thick fog passed through the bridge, and the Guozigou Bridge was looming in the clouds.

We originally planned to drop off our luggage at the accommodation, eat, and visit Sailimu Lake in the afternoon, but we unexpectedly discovered the Golden Summit of Guozigou near the accommodation, so we decisively adjusted our itinerary.

From the Golden Summit of Guozigou, you can overlook the Sailimu Lake, the Guozigou Bridge and the snow-capped mountains. You can find everything you want here.

At present, the Golden Summit of Guozigou is not open to the public, and the navigation does not show it at all. The ticket is only 30 yuan. It is absolutely a conscience price. However, I believe that with the continuous construction of the scenic spot, it will definitely go to 100 yuan.

Guozigou is named for its abundance of wild fruits. Climbing any slope in Guozigou, you can take pictures of the endless layers of forest belts and ridges.

Guozigou is 28 kilometers long. The canyon runs from north to south. The mountains are high and steep. National Highway 312 is suspended in the air, as if it is running on a mountain ridge. Driving through Guozigou is like flying in the air, with blue sky and mountain peaks above your head and woods and flowers under your feet. It feels very wonderful.

The natural scenery of Guozigou is very beautiful. Please pay attention to the weather before traveling.

Another name for Guozigou is "Talqi Daban", a famous canyon passage that goes north to Sayram Lake and south to the Ili River Valley, with a total length of 28 kilometers. I love this place so much. It has a bit of the flavor of the Alps. There are large tracts of pure snow-capped spruce forests on the mountain, as well as large meadows. Sheep graze quietly on the mountain, and it feels very peaceful. It was late July when I went there, and the weather was very good. From a distance, from the white snow peaks and clouds to the dark green forests and emerald green meadows, it was like a Van Gogh painting. You can't park in Guozigou, but I really want to save the scenery along the way in my phone, so I had to take snapshots through the car window. The effect is not very good, but it is also very beautiful.

The Guozigou Bridge can only be viewed from a distance. If you want to see it up close, you must go from Guozigou to Yili. There are many yurts near Guozigou where you can stay. Although the conditions are average, you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset of the Guozigou Bridge here, which is also good.

I believe that before coming to Guozigou, you would not believe, like me, that there is such a place: the valley bottom is full of flowers, bees and butterflies are flying, the mountains are covered with black pine cones, and the forest waves are thousands of layers; the distant mountains are snow-capped and pure, and the scenery of the four seasons can be perfectly integrated together, which feels like a small Switzerland~

No matter how many words I use, they cannot compare to your beauty~

In the dense forests, there are many wild rabbits, foxes, wolves, bears, wild boars, red deer and other animals and birds, forming a natural zoo with a very elegant environment.

Unfortunately, we arrived in autumn and did not see the lush green forest scenery. Due to snow, the cedars, fir trees and birch trees in the forest were all covered with a thin layer of snow, not to mention the fruit trees.

It's called a scenic spot, but the scenery is all on the road, so it's only four and a half stars. The scenery is also superb, with exclamation marks all the way.

There seem to be only a few spots where you can park and take photos along the entire Guozigou Scenic Area. Unless there is something wrong with your car, you cannot park casually. Our car happened to have a minor problem, so we parked in the emergency lane for a while. After the tripod and double flash were set, we checked the vehicle and then secretly took some photos of the scenery.

The road from Saihu to Guozigou is under construction. The road is bumpy and dusty. The boss said that it was paving the way for the peak season in July and August. It is estimated that the road will be good in the peak season! We were all stunned when we turned to Guozigou. It was really shocking. The sun at 8 o'clock and the shadows of the clouds were reflected in the mountains of Guozigou. It was the most beautiful moment of light and shadow. The shocking feeling that came to our faces made people exclaim from the heart. But we missed it because it was difficult to stop and take pictures at that time, so you can only feel its beauty when you go there in person. . . . .

When visiting Sailimu Lake and Guozigou, it is recommended to stay in a yurt in Guozigou. First, it is convenient to watch the beautiful sunrise and sunset of Sailimu Lake; second, friends who have never lived in a yurt or a yurt can experience life there, and children will definitely like it very much; third, the high altitude of the mountain makes it convenient to sneak out late at night to take pictures of the starry sky and the Milky Way; fourth, it is convenient to appreciate and take pictures of the spectacular Guozigou Bridge, and the yurt is right above the bridge, and you can see it through the railings.

The weather was bad on the day we went there, it snowed. If the weather is bad, I don't recommend staying in a yurt. It's very cold, and you can forget about sunrise, sunset, starry sky, and the Milky Way. In bad weather, the big bed in the hotel is more comfortable. If the weather is good, you must stay in a yurt. When you step onto the new observation deck, you can see the magnificent scenery below. The "flying bridge" crosses the blue sky, white clouds, mountains and canyons, becoming a beautiful scenery.

Guozigou in the snow is like a fairy tale world in a book. Although the tent we stayed in was simple, we were very happy!

Located at the west exit of Sailimu Lake, no tickets are required. The yurts that used to be by Sailimu Lake have now all been moved to the vicinity of Guozigou Bridge. What makes me happy is that many viewing platforms have been built near Guozigou. There are two hiking trails where we live. You can watch the sunrise and sunset and the panoramic view of Sailimu Lake and Guozigou by hiking up. You can get close to the mountain waterfall and Guozigou Bridge by hiking down. It is so beautiful!

When I was a kid, when there was no bridge here, I had to run around the mountain in circles. It was dangerous but beautiful. It was very close to the dense forest. Now that there is a bridge, it is more convenient, but less fun.

When you see the Sailimu Tunnel, there is an opening on the right side of the highway. Drive out (marked with a red cross in the picture below), and drive along the main road up the mountain, and you will see the best viewing point of Guozigou. When we went there, the road and scenic area service facilities were being repaired, and the plank road inside the mountain had been repaired. There may be a toll here in the future.

Guozigou also amazed us. It was our first time to experience the beauty of alpine grasslands. Snow-capped mountains and large tracts of green grasslands were connected, which was exquisite and pure.

As the name suggests, Guozigou is also a natural treasure house given by nature, with countless wild fruits, especially wild apples and wild apricots, and rich medicinal resources. However, we were unable to see these beautiful sights during this season.

The scenery of Guozigou makes every tourist who comes to Yili linger. This 28-kilometer-long landscape has always been regarded as one of the famous scenic spots in Xinjiang and an unparalleled natural park.

Rather than saying that Guozigou Bridge is a scenic line, it is better to say that Guozigou is more like a painting. The natural scenery that is not inferior to Kanas can also be seen in Guozigou. Looking at the scenery on both sides along the road, there is also a feeling of being in a fairyland. At present, Guozigou has not been developed into a scenic spot, but some mountaintops have plank roads, and some people say that local herdsmen have fenced it up and need to charge ten yuan before letting it go.

You can directly enter Guozigou (the most beautiful place in Xinjiang) from the Sailimu Lake Scenic Area. You can see the Guozigou Bridge from a distance. There are snow-capped mountains, canyons, deep forests, and grasslands! There are roads under construction in the valley, so it’s okay to drive slowly. There are also many yurt-style restaurants along the way, so eating is not expensive!

I just passed by Guozigou and didn't find a chance to stop and take pictures of the famous Guozigou Bridge. The most powerful and distinctive section of Guozigou Road is the Guozigou Bridge, which has the highest bridge in Xinjiang and many turns. I wanted to find the fruits in Guozigou, but I couldn't see them from the car. The driver occasionally said which ones might be wild apple trees, but I still couldn't see them specifically.

The only way from Yining to Sailimu Lake is by bus. You can take a bus from Yining, but it is recommended that 4 people share a car, so you can go all the way to Sailimu Lake and Horgos.

When we left, we did not go to the top of the mountain above Guozigou to see the view, because there is an uphill road next to the entrance of Sailimu Lake Tunnel that goes all the way up. After arriving, you still need to climb the stairs for more than half an hour to see the entire Guozigou and Sailimu Lake. If the weather is not affected, it is recommended to go and see it.

The scenery is beautiful, and Guozigou Bridge is a beautiful landscape!
