Hongshan Park

Hongshan is named because it is made of Permian purple-red conglomerate. It is commonly known as "Hongshanzui" and is now a park for citizens to relax and entertain.
The "Sunset over Hongshan Mountain" has always been regarded as one of the most representative landscapes in Urumqi and is a must-see attraction for foreign tourists visiting Urumqi.
Located in the city center, the overlooking building on the top of the mountain is the best place to overlook the entire Urumqi city.
The apricot tree, which is difficult to survive in Urumqi, has grown on Hongshan Mountain. It is also the only apricot tree in Urumqi.

I was shocked by myself. When I came to Xinjiang, I actually spent more than two hours in someone else's park. Haha, yes, I went to the park.

Hongshan Park is the heart of Urumqi. It is built on a hill of purple-red sandstone in Xinjiang. However, I didn't see whether it was purple-red sandstone, but I saw the brick tower in the park at a glance. If you stand near Hongshan Park at night, the brick tower is still very beautiful under the light (I saw it on the elevated road leading to the airport when I was catching the early flight on the way back. It was particularly beautiful). In fact, the scenery of the whole park is very ordinary, but as a landmark building in Urumqi, it is one of the places that many tourists cannot miss. Not long after walking along the trail in the park, you will see a temple called "Dafo Temple" located in the park. You need to pay an additional ticket fee to enter. Obviously, the incense is not very popular. There is a unique tower in the park, named "Yuantiao Tower". As the name suggests, it is to climb high and look far. It also needs to be charged, 20 yuan. If you don't want to spend this money, you can go to the end of the park. There is a brick tower. "Tower Imprinting the Setting Sun" is one of the eight scenic spots in Urumqi, and standing under the tower and overlooking a corner of Urumqi is also not to be missed.

Hongshan Park is a comprehensive natural mountain park that integrates tourism, classical characteristics, cultural connotations, and sports and fitness. Hongshan is the symbol and symbol of Urumqi. First of all, the fame of Hongshan Park is due to the uniqueness of Hongshan. Hongshan is 910.8 meters above sea level. It is composed of purple sandstone and is ochre red, so it is named "Hongshan". Standing next to the Hongshan Pagoda, the Hongshan Pagoda in front of you is immersed in the golden sunlight, tall and beautiful; Urumqi under the mountain is particularly enchanting under the golden sunlight. You can also overlook the high-rise buildings and prosperous cityscape of Urumqi on the top of the mountain without going up to the overlooking building.

The most satisfying thing about the whole park is the Overlooking Tower, a paid attraction in Hongshan Park. We bought tickets (20 yuan) to go up to the third floor and climbed to the top of the building, where "all the views are captured from one pavilion". The view of the Tianshan peaks is so beautiful, and the view of the bustling city is in sight. The bright sunshine, green mountains and fresh air contrast with the noisy scene of the downtown, which is really two different scenes and two different interests. The view of the Tianshan peaks is so beautiful, and the view of the bustling city is in sight.

Every city has such a landmark park, but this Hongshan is quite ordinary, with a renovated Buddhist temple and a red brick tower from the Qing Dynasty. The entire mountain is not as tall as the buildings in the distance. However, this place is what it is today because of the military and civilians who reclaimed and afforested it, which was not easy.

Hongshan Park is a comprehensive natural mountain park that integrates tourism, classical features, cultural connotations, and sports and fitness. I thought Hongshan Park was very big, but it only takes 10 minutes to walk from the foot of the mountain to the top? Maybe I've said too much. But the view of Urumqi city from the top of the mountain is quite good.

【Hongshan Park】Hongshan Park has been cared and loved by generations of Urumqi citizens for its unique style, beautiful environment, rich cultural atmosphere, various landscapes combining antique architecture and modern civilization, and thrilling amusement facilities. Hongshan is the symbol of Urumqi. First of all, the fame of Hongshan Park is due to the uniqueness of Hongshan. Hongshan is 910.8 meters above sea level. Because it is composed of purple sandstone and is ochre red, it is named 【Hongshan】. The appearance of Hongshan is like a giant dragon lying east and west, with its head held high and stretching towards the Urumqi River. Hongshan Park, built on Hongshan, is a rare mountain park in my country.

By see the way |

Hongshan Park is named after the Red Mountain where it is located. (The mountain is made of purple sandstone and is ochre red, hence the name "Hongshan".)

Hongshan is the symbol and emblem of Urumqi. It records and bears witness to the immortal achievements of the people of all ethnic groups in Urumqi in working together to green the barren mountains over the past decades. It is a place that carries the memories of generations of people in the capital.

Hongshan is also the best location to overlook the urban area of Urumqi.

By Wandering Sleeper |

Hongshan Park is located in the city. The mountain is not high and there are many entrances and exits. You can go up and down the mountain and reach the top in about 10 minutes. There are many entertainment facilities on the mountain, including Ferris wheels, slides, etc. The Hongshan Pagoda on the top of the mountain is the best place for viewing. The scenery is very beautiful both during the day and at night!

It's a pretty good park, and it's right in the city. If you have the right time, you can spend less than an hour to play. You can see some beautiful city views from the top of the mountain, and it's not difficult to climb. I'm a person who is very resistant to climbing mountains. Others say that I can't climb the mountain that takes 15 minutes to climb, but I climbed this mountain in 5 minutes. You can either walk up four or five floors of stairs or go around the mountain road. Anyway, it's easy to walk. I went up the stairs and down the mountain road, which took only half an hour in total. So there is no need to take the scenic sightseeing bus. There is a sightseeing building on the top of the mountain for 10 yuan a ticket. It was closed when I went there. The view from the observation deck next to it was also very beautiful. The park closes at 22:30 in the evening. Although the sunset here is almost 22:00, it is still recommended to come a little earlier. The scenery is not very clear at 22:00. Many attractions in the park are not open at night, such as the Big Buddha Temple, amusement facilities, etc. And it's a bit scary to walk on the road in the park when it's dark and there are not many people.

By Doudou Pig |

A very ordinary park, ranked third among Urumqi attractions. I had plenty of time, so I came here to walk around. It's not big.

By Dry Skiing |

This park is man-made, and its highlight is Jitan on the top of the mountain, from which you can get a panoramic view of Urumqi city.

By - Feng Youzhi |

I just happened to catch the sunset at the top of the mountain. The color of the sunset matched the color of the buildings, and it somehow looked like a magical realism style with specially adjusted colors.

By Hahahaha it's rising slowly |

Just to see the panoramic view, climb up the Hongshan Tower, which is also the highest point in Urumqi.

By Taishada |

Located in the park in the center of Urumqi, you can climb up and have a panoramic view of the city of Urumqi. The scenery is very nice!

By Small-leaved bamboo |

The Citizen Park is free to visit, and you can take an electric car up and down the mountain (only 10 yuan for a round trip)

By Armin |

A good place for a leisure walk. The ticket to the observation tower is 10 yuan. It's not bad if you don't go to the Red Tower.

By Go on a wild trip |

The history and introduction of Hongshan Park can be found on Baidu. As one of the biggest landscapes in Urumqi, Hongshan Park is not only a must-see for tourists, but also a place for local citizens to relax, stroll and date. Standing on Hongshan, you can overlook the Demon Mountain opposite and enjoy the Urumqi Expressway and Hetan Expressway. At sunset, the lights are shining. Hongshan is worth a visit.

Hongshan Park is located in Shuimogou District, Urumqi, in the city center. It is surrounded by Times Square Department Store, Friendship International, Parkson Shopping Center, etc., and the transportation is also very convenient. Take buses 29, 35, 58, 61, 62, 63, 73, 908, and 927 and get off at [Hongshan Park] Station. You can walk directly to the park. The park area is medium among domestic parks. Urumqi had several snowfalls in December, about 30 cm thick. Hongshan Park after the snow has its own characteristics. Covered with snow, take advantage of the night to climb up the observation tower. In winter, the park is open from 8:00 to 21:00 in the evening. You need to show your ID card to pass the security check. The Big Buddha Temple in the park is open until 19:00 in the evening (it seems that an additional fee of 5 yuan is required) Watching the snow at the lake pavilion-two large lakes are filled with winter snow, and the weeping willows along the lake are charming with dry willow branches. Every shot is a very artistic ink painting. Although Hongshan Park is small, it is still nice to climb up and look at the night view. I took a few photos of the night view of the traffic with my Xiaomi phone, and they are OK! If you are lucky and catch a heavy snow, it will be a different scene.

By Confused Sister |

I thought I was just going to see the flower show, but I didn't expect to be able to see the bird market when I went upstairs. Not bad.

By Lonely old soul |

A good place to see the city view of Urumqi. The mountain is not high and it is not tiring to climb up. The scenery is excellent. When the weather is good, you can see snow-capped mountains. We are very lucky.

By Rest, little thief |

The park in the center of Urumqi is actually very small, but there is a mountain you can climb to see the city of Urumqi. There is a red brick tower on the top of the mountain, which is a place where locals like to take photos. After all, there are many Uyghur compatriots playing here, so it still has a bit of exotic atmosphere.

By 75094056 |

The environment of Hongshan Park is nice. The mountain is actually not very high. The iconic building is the Hongshan Pagoda, from which you can overlook the surrounding city scenery. There was originally an observation tower, which should have had a better view, but it was closed when I went there.

Hongshan Park is one of the landmarks of Urumqi and has a long history. Now for local people, it is a central park for leisure and fitness, where you can see local cultural activities.

Hongshan Mountain is not too high. You can climb a flight of stairs to reach the top of the mountain, or you can walk along the slow walking path next to it. You can overlook Urumqi from the top of the mountain. It is very comfortable to come here to breathe some oxygen when the weather is good.

Hongshan Park is visited by many locals. After all, it is just an ordinary park. It is said that you can overlook the entire Urumqi city from the top of the mountain, but looking around, you can see the high-rise buildings that are common in every city.

By Simple Heart |

Hongshan is the symbol of Urumqi. Hongshan Park is an open scenic spot. The sculptures of two sheep set against the backdrop of flowers on the hillside in front of you make people feel so warm. Hongshan is not very high, and you don’t feel tired when you slowly climb up the slope. Passing by the Big Buddha Temple, the temple is filled with incense and chanting. The main scenery of Hongshan Park is the Overlooking Tower and Hongshan Tower. You can also overlook the high-rise buildings and prosperous city of Urumqi on the top of the mountain without going up the Overlooking Tower.

By Misty Ranger |

As the capital of Xinjiang, Urumqi really has nothing interesting to do except for the Tianshan Lake in the suburbs. Usually, travel guides will recommend you to go to Hongshan Park and the Grand Bazaar, but Hongshan Park is really just a park. There is a pagoda on the cliff of Hongshan Mountain, where you can see the city of Urumqi.

By Collapse |

If you want to go to Urumqi city, Hongshan Park is still worth visiting. The park is not big, but it is well planned, with landscapes, entertainment projects, and rest facilities.

By Gaolle |

Hongshan doesn't look like a hill in a water-scarce city in the northwest. Instead, it looks more like a park in the south of the Yangtze River. The vegetation here is lush and green, and the tall trees almost block out the sun. In the scorching days of August, there is a hint of coolness, which is rare. When climbing Hongshan, you will see many locals, exercising or chatting, allowing you to experience the local people's lifestyle. There is a red tower on Hongshan, which is a landmark building; under the tower is a memorial statue of Lin Zexu, which was established by the people of Xinjiang to commemorate and thank this anti-drug hero; Yuantiaolou is the highest point of Hongshan. Here you can not only have a panoramic view of the entire city, but also see the shadowy peaks of the Tianshan Mountains in the distance when the weather is clear. There are large tracts of snow that never melt all year round between the mountains, which is beautiful.

Having traveled to so many places, I love two parks the most: one is Changchun’s Nanhu Park, where I spent almost every night during my four years of undergraduate studies, and I fell in love with it over time; and Hongshan Park is like a crested red lion guarding Xinjiang’s transportation artery, and I fell in love with it at first sight.

By Xiaoqian who loves traveling |

How should I put it? Hongshan Park is said to be the highest point in Urumqi, where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the sunset. The scenery is just so-so. After my friends came, it was more interesting to watch them busy taking pictures of the sunset. It seems that more people are more fun.

We visited Hongshan Park just to climb to the top and overlook Urumqi. The Hongshan Tower stood tall, and high-rise buildings stood in the distance. Although there was no blue sky and sunset, the scenery was still pleasant.

Hongshan is located in Hongshan Park at No. 40, North Lane 1, Hongshan Road, Shuimogou District, the center of Urumqi. It is considered the symbol of Urumqi. Hongshan is named after its reddish-brown color. It runs from east to west, with the highest point at an altitude of 910 meters. Hongshan is a symbol of the prosperity and development of Urumqi. It is majestic and spectacular, standing proudly in the center of Urumqi like a giant dragon with its head west and feet east. The Hongshan Pagoda standing on the top of Hongshan has gone through more than 200 years of wind and rain, and still stands intact on the top of the cliff. It is a unique sight in Urumqi. The park is divided into the South Courtyard and the North Courtyard, which are on both sides of the road. The Hongshan Sports Center is also here. The location is very easy to find. Generally, everyone goes to the North Courtyard. When I went there, I didn't find that there was a South Courtyard at all. I went directly to the gate of the North Courtyard. The big doorplate of Hongshan Park is right here. The park does not require tickets and belongs to the citizen park. Walking into the park, the greening is very good. It is automatically watered. There is a cool air in the air. Compared with the outside, the park is so comfortable. I was almost melted in the sun just now. Walking under the shade of the trees, I felt like I woke up. There were still many people in the park at four or five in the afternoon. The park is naturally a mountain. There is an electric carpool at the door. Ten yuan can go back and forth between the top of the mountain. The top of the mountain is not high, and the distance is not far. It can be reached in ten minutes at normal speed. There are many buildings and entertainment facilities on the mountain. No wonder there are many local people. As a citizen park, it is really good to take a walk. The road up the mountain is lined with green trees on both sides, and there is a dense forest next to it. It is very pleasant to walk in the park during the day. There is a small square at the highest point of Hongshan Park, where you can see the panoramic view of Urumqi. There is also a statue of Lin Zexu in Hongshan Park. It is a very good construction plan for a modern city to retain such a citizen park.

Hongshan Park looks like a Jiangnan water town, with pavilions, towers, bridges, waterside pavilions, rockeries, and flower beds. Perhaps every westerner has a dream of a Jiangnan water town. As a southeast coastal person, I am used to seeing small bridges and flowing water, so I can only sigh when I come to Hongshan.

The contrast between the mountain and the building makes people unable to help but take a few more glances. The Red Mountain brings a touch of spiritual energy to the city.

The park is free, but security checks are required, so your "identity card" is a life-saving item here, so be sure to carry it with you and keep it in a safe place.

The Tiaoyuan Tower on Hongshan Mountain is said to be the best overlooking point. The original guide mentioned that the ticket to the tower is 5 yuan. Maybe because it is the "lotus season" and the courtyard is full of potted lotus, the ticket to the tower has now increased to 20 yuan.

What's more scary is that there is a wave of cold spray from time to time in the garden. I don't know if it is to prolong the flowering period or to create a smoky atmosphere? When people in Jiangnan see this kind of water vapor, they will cover their cameras and run away, for fear of mold. Hahahaha...

I went to Hongshan Park because I checked the guide online and found that you can see the panoramic view of Urumqi, but the mountain is relatively low and the scenery is not very amazing, so I don’t recommend it. The parking fee of the park is three yuan per hour. There is a tour bus inside, which costs ten yuan per person for a round trip. In fact, the straight-line distance of climbing the stairs is not far.

There is a viewing platform in the park, which costs 20 yuan. I don't think it's necessary to go in. You can just look at it from this "Zhenlong Pagoda". Hongshan Park also has other mountains, waters, temples, and amusement scenery.

Hongshan Park should be the heart of Urumqi! It is built on a purple-red sandstone hill in Urumqi. The tower in the park can be seen from my room in the youth hostel. If it is at night, the tower is illuminated by lights and shines brightly.

Personally, I think the scenery of the entire park is really ordinary, but as a landmark building in Urumqi, it is one of the places where many tourists check in.

I rode the Ferris wheel by myself today, and I felt a little lonely! When the Ferris wheel reaches the top, you can have a bird's eye view of the entire city of Urumqi.

I just walked up the main road and spent 20 yuan to enter the Yuanwang Building (because they were doing some kind of flower and fossil exhibition). The flowers at the entrance were okay, but the spray of water made me feel like I was floating in the air. The fossil exhibition was quite interesting, with many fossils of fish, plants, etc. There was an external explanation next to it, but no photos were allowed. (One fossil was a shoe print, and there was a fish in the shoe print. I don’t know if I just stepped on the fish, but the shoe print was amazing. After all, there shouldn’t have been such shoe prints at that time...)

Hongshan Park is located at a relatively high position, where you can see the urban landscape of Urumqi. Many local young people in Urumqi also like to come here to play.

To be honest, from a distance, Urumqi looks no different from other cities in China, with the same tall buildings. But it was quite unexpected that there is such a prosperous metropolis in Xinjiang.

Looking at Urumqi from Hongshan Park, I had the illusion that I was in Shanghai.

I went there on a sunny afternoon, and had a panoramic view of the city. Next to it is the Hongshan Stadium. There is also the Lin Zexu anti-smoking statue, which is worth a visit.

The scenery is beautiful. Standing on the Hongshan Pagoda, you can have a panoramic view of Urumqi. You must go there when you go to Urumqi.

Located in the center of Urumqi, it is named Hongshan Park because the rocks in the park are ochre red. There are special attractions such as Hongshan Tower in the park, which is worth a visit.

Hongshan Park, next to which is Hongshan Stadium, where Xinjiang team won the CBA. Although I seldom watch CBA, I still admire Xinjiang team very much. They entered the finals several times and finally won the championship. It's not easy!

After entering Hongshan Park, I found that it was very clean and well-equipped, with green trees and red flowers everywhere. Many people rested here. Since I entered from the East Gate, the sunlight came from the west, but most of it was blocked by the trees. It was a really nice place.

While waiting for the people in my group to go to the toilet, I chatted with an auntie who was resting on a chair. I asked her about the buildings and towers I saw on the road, and she said they were in this park. The auntie was also quite talkative, saying that people in Urumqi are hospitable, and the first thing they do when you enter the house to eat is to pour you water, and that the food is very oily, and there is still a layer of oil at the bottom of the bowl after eating the pilaf. The auntie also looked like she traveled frequently, and she began to comment on the oiliness of food in various places. She thought that the food in Shijiazhuang had the least oil, and the food in Taiwan was the best. OK! This is just her personal opinion.

There were many people in the park, and everyone was enjoying the sunny afternoon. Since I wanted to go to the mountains, the only thing I could do was to climb the mountain.

After climbing for a while, I saw a sculpture of two deer called Two Deer Welcoming Guests. Then I saw a temple called Big Buddha Temple, but it charged 10 yuan, so I could only look at it from the outside!

Next is the Yuanwang Tower, but this Yuanwang Tower charges a fee, and I also don't want to spend money. You can also see it from the side of the Yuanwang Tower, but it's not that high. Urumqi is really well built, with tall buildings everywhere.

Next we went to the ancient pagoda, but there were so many tourists here, everyone wanted to see the scenery of Urumqi from this height. Many people also wanted to take photos with Urumqi, but this required a certain degree of danger, because they needed to climb up the jagged rocks on the side of the pagoda and stand there to take photos.

To be honest, it was quite dangerous, but I also took two pictures while standing on it. I also saw a couple standing at the highest point, and I also took two secret pictures of them. But it felt good. This boy knows how to find a place.

After taking photos of the ancient pagoda, we walked down the long stairs to the east gate of the park. It was still early, although it was past eight o'clock, but the sky was still bright.
