Huoyan Mountain is located in Turpan, Xinjiang. It means "Red Mountain" in Uyghur. It was once called "Volcano" because of its heat. The mountain range runs from east to west and no grass grows. The scenery on the back of Huoyan Mountain is said to be the filming location for the sandboarding scene in Where Are We Going, Dad? (it’s still very thrilling), but it is not open to the public now.

The most amazing thing is that in this place where "no birds fly in the mountains", there are actually many lush oases surrounding it, which form a sharp contrast with the barren mountains and hills. There are gurgling springs and shady trees at the bottom of the ditch, forming long and narrow oases. There is also only one farmer's family living here. It is really magical.

I bought an off-road vehicle and took a car to the top of the mountain where Journey to the West was filmed (there was a tree with a white dragon horse tied to it)

The off-road vehicle is 50 yuan per person. You can choose to hike or ride a camel. The main reason is that the weather is too sunny and I really don’t have the courage to hike or ride a camel. As a young person, I still think off-road vehicles are more fun.

Don't go in... You can see it clearly without buying a ticket at the door, unless you want to walk to the foot of the Flaming Mountain... There is just a big statue inside, and then a golden hoop, and nothing else... There is no roasted eggs at all!!!

It was very hot inside the scenic area, but we still walked into the mountain and climbed a bit. There were a lot of people, but we were the only ones who dared to go inside!

Many attractions were too hot to complete, and the price was not cheap. It cost 20 yuan to take pictures next to the camels. I almost fainted from the sun after taking a few photos casually. Even though I was well prepared for sun protection, my friend still got heatstroke in the end. The camels and goats next to him were too lazy to get up.

Huoyan Mountain is located on the way from Turpan to Shanshan. Under the setting sun, the reddish-brown mountain looks majestic. The huge thermometer standing in the scenic area shows that the surface temperature is 42°C.

This is the most disappointing attraction on this trip to the northwest. The sky was foggy. There is nothing to see inside. As everyone said, it is just a barren mountain with a few sculptures built around it and charged a fee. I don't recommend going there.

I find the Flaming Mountain boring. It is far-fetched to say that the shape of the mountain is a bit like flame. As for the claim that Tang Monk passed by here when he went to seek Buddhist scriptures, who has verified this?

I have no interest in the sculptures in the scenic area. The thermometer in the shape of a golden hoop is worth a look because it has been certified by Guinness and once recorded the surface temperature of Turpan at 82 degrees. There is really no other reason to stop.

Huoyan Mountain is a must-visit place. (If you don't want to enter the scenic area, you can go to the Huoyan Mountain Grand Canyon, or look at Huoyan Mountain from afar at the entrance) In addition to the sculptures of the four people, the golden hoop, the banana fan, the Bull Demon King, and his disciples, it is another experience to approach Huoyan Mountain in the face of the unexpected heat wave. Huoyan Mountain is still a Danxia landform, with no grass growing all year round, tall and magnificent, with special textures and reddish colors. The Journey to the West theme sculptures in the underground seemed a bit perfunctory, and the eggs in the sand pit were empty, leaving only a palm leaf fan to tell us that the surface was still 65 degrees. But the Uyghur tour guide was very thin and beautiful, and took us to the sacred spring, which was different from the Huoyan Mountain Scenic Area. Passing by Huoyan Mountain, I went in for a walk! I took a donkey cart to the foot of Huoyan Mountain and took a selfie at the zero altitude line! The Turpan Basin is below the altitude line. The altitude on the car shows -60m. At around 8 o'clock in the evening, the thermometer showed more than 30 degrees. This place is really hot~

Flame Grape Valley

The Creator is amazing. Just after saying goodbye to the 85-degree celsius Huoyan Mountain, you can drive a short distance to the oasis of Grape Valley. When I went to Turpan, the stock market crashed. The whole store was 30% off. I wanted to break my bones when I saw green things. I just kissed the nose of the bull at Huoyan Mountain, but in the afternoon the tour guide took me to the green Grape Valley to visit a Uyghur family.

To be honest, after traveling around the country, I have a good appreciation for tea tasting, home visits, workshops, blessing, fortune telling, and experience. I have to say that this Uyghur home visit is the most impressive one for me. Not to mention that the host Adili is very friendly, just like Zhang Guoli with a mustache, his beautiful sister danced for us, his cute children played around us, his diligent wife served us fruits, and he spoke fluent Mandarin from appreciating raisins to the relationship between Uyghurs and Han. What impressed me most was that no matter how tricky the tourists were, no matter whether you bought or not, he always had a calm look on his face, which completely subverted my impression of Uyghur brothers.

When we left, each of us was contentedly carrying large and small bags of raisins. We ate the grapes without spitting out the skins, and if we didn't eat the grapes, we would look at our Uyghur brothers.

We came to the place where the Monkey King got angry. I thought the temperature was just right in Turpan, but it was so hot when I arrived at Huoyan Mountain. I checked the temperature on my phone and it was about 32 degrees. The thermometer on the ground had exceeded 43 degrees. The tour guide said this is still a relatively cool season.

This is the world's largest thermometer. Monkey's stick showed that the surface temperature was 43 degrees at that time. . . .

It was really hot, and it felt even hotter when I looked at the Red Mountain in front of me. It was really the Flaming Mountain.

If the whole basin is compared to a big bowl, Turpan is the hottest place at the bottom of the bowl, so my friends all wore short sleeves, and got a few shades tanned.

This is a place that Sun Wukong was worried about. He said that he had to borrow a palm leaf fan from Princess Iron Fan when he came to Huoyan Mountain because it was too hot. But we didn't need the palm leaf fan. The heavy rain in Urumqi before made the cold air blow to Turpan. We actually felt a little cool in Huoyan Mountain. Another magical thing is that there are water in the thirteen valleys of Huoyan Mountain, and there are a lot of them. This also overturned my original impression that Huoyan Mountain is barren. Avoiding the big thermometer location where tour groups gather, we went deep into the hinterland of Huoyan Mountain, where you can climb mountains, go off-road sand rushing, and ride camels. The key is that there are not many people, but the wind and sand in the canyon are relatively strong, and I feel covered in sand.

One: It's hot, two: The price/performance ratio is low. No wonder my friend didn't go in twice. It turned out to be right.

Speaking of Huoyan Mountain, if you buy an e-ticket, you must pay attention. Huoyan Mountain and Huoyan Mountain National Geopark are not the same place. Don't ask me how I know.

My suggestion is not to buy tickets. The temperature is too high. You will be burned out when you get off the bus and you will not have the courage to play. And the inside of the scenic spot is similar to what you see outside. You can just visit the entrance. But there are helicopters inside. If you want to have fun, it is still good to go in and fly.
