[Kanas] is a comprehensive scenic spot integrating glaciers, lakes, forests, grasslands, pastures, rivers, ethnic customs, rare animals and plants. Kanas Lake is the core attraction. The main attractions are the mysterious Kanas Lake and Shenxian Bay, Wolong Bay and Moon Bay. The weather gradually cleared up and it was getting late, so we decided to go see the beautiful Kanas Lake.

Kanas autumn scenery has just been fully dyed for two days. The number of people suddenly increased, and accommodation has become tight. With the help of others, we finally decided on a place to stay in Kanas for two nights. After buying tickets to Kanas Scenic Area, taking the shuttle bus to arrange accommodation, we couldn't wait to climb the Kanas Observation Deck and look far into the distance. Kanas Lake is quiet and peaceful. Yellow trees are lined up on the hillside. When we came to Kanas Lake and admired it up close, the lake water was like a mirror, shining brightly, and the primeval forest was protecting it.

Arriving at Kanas Lake, the sky was already covered by dark clouds! The top of the mountain was already covered with a thin layer of snow! The small pool was clear and transparent, and the reflections of the snow-capped mountains and trees were clearly visible! Walking along the plank road of Kanas Lake, we were pleasantly surprised to see a large blue sky suddenly appear! We took pictures of trees, lake water, rocks, and rotten wood. It seemed that every time we took a picture, we were racing against time and the blue sky, but in a moment, the weather changed! After walking a short distance along the plank road of Kanas Lake, we will see the starting point of the Kanas Lake cruise. When we were on the shuttle bus, on the screen of the shuttle bus, there was a video playing the audio and video of the Kanas Lake monster taken by tourists and scholars. As for whether there is really a Kanas monster, we have always been skeptical!

Following the crowd, we left Director Zhang and his group and walked to the lake. It was drizzling at this time, the weather was not very good, and the air was cool. This is Kanas Lake at the turn of spring and summer, with flowers in full bloom and lush greenery. After walking across a long bridge, we came to an open area of water. The shallow lake was full of a kind of aquatic plants similar to water chestnuts. Each plant was much larger than water chestnuts, as if water chestnuts had become spirits. The water was clear and the sky could be reflected. I don't know which tour guide said: This place doesn't look good, but it looks good in photos. If you don't believe it, take some photos. A Luo and I hurriedly took photos and found that it was true as he said. The nearby lake, the distant grasslands, forests, and mountains, no matter what angle, can be photographed into a computer desktop. In addition, the small houses in the distance were deliberately built with that kind of red large sloping roof, and the whole picture was full of Swiss style.

Kanas Lake is basically frozen, and the legendary Kanas Lake Monster can no longer be seen. But being able to stand on the surface of Kanas Lake is something you can't experience in other seasons.

Many drivers who want to drift are spinning in circles on the lake, with their tires scratching and snow mist flying, and the air is filled with the smell of rubbing plastic.

Going downstream, the river becomes wider, the water flow becomes much calmer, and trees grow on both sides of the river and extend all the way along the river.

The legend of the water monster adds to the mystery of this place. I believe every tourist who comes to Kanas wants to try their luck and see its true face. After getting off the shuttle bus, walk along the plank road to the Kanas Lake (two-entry ticket + shuttle bus ticket 270 yuan/person). This should be the downstream, the water is turbulent, and the rocks hit the shore. The further you go upstream, the calmer the water surface becomes. The green lake surface matches the colorful autumn colors by the lake, which makes people drunk. Walking and taking pictures along the way, everywhere is as beautiful as a picture. Four hours passed quietly, tired but excited.

The best time to visit Kanas Lake is in the afternoon or evening, when you can walk on the plank road beside the lake. The sun starts to set, and this is a great time to take a stroll along the lake. The light is excellent!

There is fine sand by the lake, with some fallen leaves and exposed tree trunks. It’s a different lake surface. I like this feeling under the warm light.

I don't know why, but the pictures here are so delicate that every frame can be enlarged and matched with a scroll, becoming a kind of permanent memorial. At this time, the sun has already set over the mountain. The light is still there, but the temperature has dropped and it is very cold, and the wind is very strong. This is basically my thickest equipment, but fortunately I wore a quilt and down jacket.

The local driver said that if you come here in autumn, it will be crowded with people, but Kanas in winter seems quiet and peaceful.

We got up early and headed for Kanas Lake. Due to the heavy snow, most roads were closed, and there was only one path leading from the square to the lake. After parking the car, we walked along a small snowy road to the lake. The temperature was below minus 20 degrees Celsius.

The 500-meter road was quite difficult to walk. It took about 20 minutes to walk. You can see how thick the snow was on the road. Finally, we arrived at the lake. It was like a fairyland. The woods in the distance were covered with a layer of white frost. The lakeside was spotless snow. The lake water was unexpectedly not frozen. There was a layer of mist floating on the lake. It was like entering the world of the cartoon "Frozen". The camera did not stop and kept shooting until the battery ran out. The real winter Kanas is much more beautiful than the photos.

The staff will take you to the pier to take the boat. After we got off the bus, we did not go to the pier with the tour group. We walked directly down the plank road next to it and walked along the lake. The scenery was beautiful and we would eventually reach the pier. You can walk on this plank road. Then we took a bus to Sanwan. I remember the order of the tour was Shenxian Bay-Moon Bay-Wolong Bay. Anyway, just follow the bus and walk.

Kanas Lake is soft jade. The soft jade is inlaid in the valley of the Altai Mountains. The valley full of yellow trees and red grass is the ring holder. Its plateau scenery, lake scenery and geological landscape deserve a highly praised name. Standing on the green gentle slope and looking at Kanas Lake, it is like a blue diamond inlaid in the mountains on both sides, ethereal and pure. Kanas Lake is more bizarre under the sunlight. The agate-colored lake has a hazy feeling like fog, wind and rain, which makes people unpredictable. The water of Kanas Lake will show different colors due to different seasons. At this time, we see milky white lake water with blue-green as the base tone. The milky white lake water is poured into Kanas Lake by the water of the upstream White Lake. The boat ride has the blue sky, white clouds, green mountains and green water of Kanas Lake, which makes people intoxicated.

It's a place I've heard of since childhood, so naturally I had great expectations and imaginations before going there. Maybe I arrived at the wrong season, but after arriving I felt that it was really similar to a lake in the Qinling Mountains around Xi'an. There were no white clouds in the sky over the plateau as I had imagined, no colorful or pure white mountains as I had imagined, and the lake was not the incredibly blue-green color I had imagined. Instead, all I could see were gray mountains all around, scattered snow, gray-brown trees, and the slightly green lake. The scenery along the Kanas River was not satisfactory either... After walking along the wooden plank road by the lake, we can say with certainty that the correct way to visit Kanas Lake is to walk along this road on the east bank of Kanas Lake to the Turuk rock paintings at the end of the plank road. There are three ways to enjoy Kanas Lake, including climbing up to the fish-watching platform to overlook it, taking a cruise around the lake, and walking along the plank road on the east bank of the lake. During the peak tourist season, the first two routes are very densely populated with tourists, but there are very few tourists on the plank road by the lake. We recommend that friends who can arrange their own itinerary must walk this route.

At 11:30 am, we arrived at Jiadengyu, the gate of Kanas Scenic Area (full name: "Kanas National Geopark"). This is just a ticket station. The core area of the scenic area is still far away from here, and you need to take the scenic area's shuttle bus to get in. Therefore, self-driving cars can only be parked at Jiadengyu parking lot and bring necessary items (lesson: never bring a suitcase, always use a backpack, otherwise you will have to rush back to your residence to pick up your luggage after the tour the next day, which is very troublesome).

The ticket to Kanas is 160 yuan, and the shuttle bus is 70 yuan. Note that the route to Kanas Scenic Area is a bit complicated, so you have to understand it in advance.

You usually have to stay overnight in Kanas, so the choice of accommodation is very important. Among them, there are more accommodations outside Jiadengyu, which are much cheaper than those inside the scenic area, and the conditions are generally better. Travel agencies usually arrange accommodation in Jiadengyu. But the disadvantage is that you have to enter the scenic area twice the next day, which takes time, and the shuttle bus costs 30 yuan (70 yuan for the shuttle bus is the fare for one entry); while there are many accommodations in the Tuwa Old Village and the New Village in the scenic area, so you can enter once and then come out, and you don’t have to go back, which is much more efficient and the environment inside is also good. But the disadvantage is that the room rate is high and the conditions are generally not very good. You also have to carry your luggage in. In addition, accommodation in the old village is particularly tight during the peak season and must be booked in advance.

We booked accommodation in the old village, and first took the shuttle bus from Jiadengyu to the transfer center (visitor center) inside, 30 kilometers. The shuttle bus from Jiadengyu to the transfer center will pass through three famous attractions: Wolong Bay, Moon Bay and Shenxian Bay (referred to as "Three Bays"), but the shuttle bus entering will generally not stop. Looking through the window, everyone was amazed by the beautiful scenery along the way! ! ! Ah... Wow... The sound of one after another.

At around 13:00 noon, we arrived at the transfer center. This is the transportation hub of Kanas Scenic Area, with shuttle buses to Jiadengyu, Kanas Lake, Guanyutai and Baihaba. Note: The 70 yuan shuttle bus fare does not include the two directions of Guanyutai and Baihaba, and you have to buy separate shuttle tickets at the ticket hall of the transfer center (you don’t need to buy tickets for these two places separately).

There is a restaurant in the transfer center, and there are many options for food. Also, if you want to go to Baihaba, you should apply for a border pass at the convenient police station in the transfer center. Then take the shuttle bus to Kanas Lake and check in at Tuwa Old Village. Get off at the first stop, and the Butterfly Villa we booked is just opposite the station. The actual altitude here is 1,370 meters.

We took the shuttle bus to Kanas Lake again, and the final stop was Kanas Lake (there were two stops on the way, the first stop was at the east end of the old village, opposite the Butterfly Villa; the second stop was at the west end of the old village). From here, we walked to the left for a few minutes to reach the lakeside plank road, and to the right was the cruise ship dock. We finished our tour of Kanas Lake at nearly 19:00 in the evening. We walked and took photos here leisurely for 1.5 hours. The scenery was really nice!

The largest lake in Kanas Scenic Area is located in the north of the scenic area. It is a high mountain barrier lake. The lake changes color with the seasons and is famous for the legend of a lake monster. I did not take a boat tour on the lake, but instead took a tour along the plank road by the lake and saw the glacial deposits that looked like straw bags, which was quite interesting.

I thought I would see the golden Kanas in mid-September, but the Florentine version of Kanas still amazed me. I didn’t come here for the monster rainbow trout, but for the Kanas in my heart.

First, if it is called a pavilion, the top pavilion must be larger than the bottom platform. In addition, the pavilion is suspected of being self-enclosed, while the platform is open to the outside world, which is in line with the requirements of the progress of the times. Secondly, the two words pavilion and platform are too particular about homophony. For ordinary people, the pavilion means to stop, and the platform means to lift. I spend money to travel in order to seek happiness and auspiciousness, so why should I stop instead of lifting? Who doesn't want to make progress in life and achieve success in career after traveling in Kanas? Thirdly, looking up at the Fish-Watching Terrace from the lake at the bottom of the mountain, it is just like an incense platform sitting upright on the West Mountain. If the sky is filled with clouds or sunset glow, the incense stand will be filled with clouds and mist, and the auspicious clouds and fairy air will be everywhere. These three factors are exactly why calling a platform is better than calling a pavilion.



Climbing the Guanyu Terrace is the last exclamation point in the trip to Kanas. Without climbing the Guanyu Terrace, you cannot appreciate the ultimate beauty of Kanas; without climbing the Guanyu Terrace, you cannot understand the true meaning of life.

Nasi National Geopark is a general term, which actually includes Kanas, Baihaba and Hemu. Due to limited time, I only went to Kanas and Hemu. The ticket to Kanas Scenic Area is 185 yuan, and the shuttle bus is 80 yuan (round trip, Jiadengyu-Kanas, Kanas ticket card cannot be used in August, and ID card is required to buy tickets) Regarding accommodation in Kanas, it should be noted that Tuva villages are divided into old villages and new villages. The old village is on the way to the lake, close to the Kanas Visitor Center (where you transfer to the shuttle bus), and the transportation is convenient, but because it is on the main road, it is a little noisy; the new village is half an hour's walk from the Visitor Center. On the way from the Visitor Center to the Fish Viewing Platform, there are relatively few people and it is relatively quiet.

In winter, the ice on the surface of Kanas Lake is more than one meter thick, and cars can drive on it. This is our vehicle. The bighead carp took me to drift on the surface of Kanas Lake for several circles, spinning and jumping 180 degrees and 360 degrees with my eyes closed. It was so exciting, and I felt like my life had reached its climax.

Looking up at Kanas Lake is a completely different scene, and the sunset is another kind of beauty.

Everything is so peaceful. As I walk, I feel as if I have integrated into it.

The blue sky, clear water and snow-capped mountains shocked me on the first day. It was as if my eyes were baptized. I looked straight at Kanas Lake and really wanted to meet the legendary water monster. I wandered around until sunset.

The wind was blowing and the waves were surging by the lake, which was very pleasant to watch. We walked and stopped in this picturesque scenery, played in the water by the lake, and took photos. It seemed leisurely and peaceful.

The water of Kanas Lake looks milky green from a distance, but is very clear up close, flowing continuously along the Kanas River.

The best viewing point of Kanas Lake is the Fish-Watching Platform on the top of the mountain. Climbing up the Fish-Watching Platform, you can see Kanas Lake lazily lying between two mountains, like a fat river. In fact, the scenery is just so-so, perhaps because it is summer and the lake and mountains are mainly green, which is a bit monotonous.

The next morning, the Kanas Lake was shrouded in clouds and mist, like a fairyland.

The beautiful scenery in the northernmost part of Xinjiang is different in each season. I like the scenery in late autumn very much.

Kanas Lake is not beautiful, really, but the two small lakes are extremely beautiful.

One is that there is a small lake on the left side of the place where you just got off the bus, like a mirror.

Another one is on the way to Kanas Lake. It feels like being in Switzerland [Switzerland, you have to go there and see it].

We walked along Kanas Lake in the afternoon. Maybe because we had seen too many similar scenery in the past two days, there were not many surprises except for the occasional squirrels jumping out on the shore, wild ducks by the swamp, and eagles circling in the sky.

Listen closely to the sound of the lake water lapping against the shore, watch the ripples reflected in the sunset, and see many people flying drones in hidden places to record the beautiful scenery.

Kanas Lake is huge. Just take a look at it, don't even think about going around the lake, I felt like dying while walking.

We chose the boat at Shuanghu Wharf for the Kanas Lake Cruise, which takes about 40 minutes to go back and forth in the lake. The boat is relatively new, and it will stop after reaching the center of the lake to let tourists take pictures on the top floor for 5 minutes. However, the places with better views at the bow and stern are very crowded, and taking pictures is like fighting a war. For southerners, after seeing too many lake views in the mountains, there is nothing special about touring the lake in Kanas, and it feels a little tasteless. Walking into Kanas Lake, I found that the lake water is not as green as it looks from a distance.

Only about 2/3 of the plank road by the lake is open. I didn't finish walking, and it was getting dark, so I started walking back.

It's a very beautiful place. There is basically nothing wrong with it except that the bathing and food are a little simple in winter. The scenery is very beautiful.

Kanas Lake cruise is probably the most ridiculous activity in the whole of Kanas. It is best not to miss it if you pass by it.

The boat ticket is 120 yuan per person. The view from the cabin is not very good because of various obstructions. In this season, going up to the deck to see the scenery will result in shivering in the cold wind. If you want to appreciate the scenery of Kanas Lake, you can actually walk along the lakeshore. In addition, going up to the fish-watching platform to overlook Kanas Lake from a high altitude is also a good choice.

Compared with Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan, it feels a little worse, and the tickets there are not that expensive.

There are many recreational activities here, but we did not participate. After all, the weather was not very good and it was very cold. I don’t have the courage to go rafting on such a lake and I really cannot accept it.

We took the bus to Kanas Lake. We didn't take a cruise ship. We walked along the lake. It was probably afternoon and not many people there, so it was nice to take a walk along the lake.

It was like walking at the end of the world and in Murakami's cold wonderland. By the lake, there was only the sound of us walking along the plank road, the sound of the lake water flowing, the snow-capped mountains and birds singing in the distance, as if walking in a fairy tale.

In August 2010, I went to Kanas Scenic Area for the first and only time so far. With my family and friends leading the way, I didn't need to make any plans. The most regrettable thing is that I had no idea about photography at that time. I used a handheld camera and the crude camera function to take some pictures of the scenery. However, this kind of casual shooting also has its advantages, that is, I can use my eyes to take in the intoxicating beautiful scenery there, instead of being obsessed with every technical detail of the photo. Beautiful Kanas, I will meet you again when I feel better.

Walking in the Kanas Scenic Area, a pool of tranquil water is like a huge mirror, without a trace of ripples, completely reflecting the nearby mountains and forests. It is so beautiful that it is intoxicating and breathtaking.
