One of the three famous bays in Kanas, it is sandwiched between two mountains in the east and west. The river meanders along the mountains and is shaped like a crescent moon, so it is named Moon Bay.
There are mountains on both sides, dense primeval forests, towering ancient trees, and a large green lawn on the peninsula-shaped platform under the forest.
Due to the height difference of the lake bottom and the influence of light, the water of Moon Bay presents magnificent and changeable colors.
It is a paradise for photography enthusiasts. The viewing platform on the wooden plank road along the way is the best place to take photos.
Not far from Moon Bay, there is a "holy spring" with extremely high mineral content. People with poor stomachs should drink it with caution.

This is the Moon Bay that appears most frequently in photographs. It is still shrouded in fog. We stand here and wait quietly, waiting for its most stunning side. The sun slowly rises, and we find a shepherd’s house on the opposite hillside. It really looks like a painting at first glance. Take a picture of the reflection in the water and zoom in. The effect is like a watercolor painting. Then I look up and see the Moon Bay bathed in the sun, appearing in front of me like a graceful girl. It’s so beautiful!
It really lives up to its reputation. Even on a rainy night, there is still such a moving view. It is really amazing.
Moon Bay is named after several reverse S-shaped curved riverbeds. The water of Kanas River changes with the changes, coming and going freely in the light and shadow. Sometimes it is bright emerald, sometimes it is quiet blue-green, and sometimes it is retro gray-green. It is matched with the yellow leaves of Siberian larch and white birch trees on both sides in late autumn. It is beautiful to the extreme. In late autumn, there is snow on the top of the mountain and mist in the mountain before it snows. I just want to record this experience quickly. When I entered the door, I heard the security personnel say that it would snow tonight, and the leaves would fall quickly after the snow. Maybe I won’t see the same thing tomorrow.
The mysterious color scheme of Kanas taken from overhead is used as the background color in the camera. The tranquility of the settled blue adds vitality to the portrait.
Moon Bay is located in the middle reaches of Kanas River. The riverbed here makes a beautiful curve, just like a crescent moon falling into the mortal world. The mountains on both sides are steep, and the trees are scattered and graceful, lush and dense. Looking down from above, the emerald green river water is as smooth as a mirror, like a huge, warm, smooth, and cold jade Ruyi.
Moon Bay is located in the middle reaches of Kanas River. The riverbed here makes a beautiful curve, just like a crescent moon falling into the mortal world. The mountains on both sides are steep, and the trees are scattered at different heights, graceful and lush. Looking down from above, the emerald green river water is as smooth as a mirror, like a huge, warm, smooth and cold jade Ruyi.
Walking down, you can see the emerald green up close near the water, which is another fairyland. The water is clear and the water plants are lush. In front of the red pines lying in the water, sand and mud accumulate to form a shallow beach. Behind the tree trunks, the water carries away the silt and turns it into a deep pool. The unintentional dam makes the river flow faster, ripples appear, and light and shadows float.
Turning to look at the source of the river, there are colorful forests on both sides, and the faint swaying reflections in the water are sometimes thick and sometimes thin, changing colors. The floating clouds in the sky are gathering with the intention of blocking the blue sky. The green grass on the sandbar is drifting in the wind, full of vitality. What a beautiful picture with clear mountains and strange waters.
A quiet river meanders through the dense forest that looks like a palette, just like the sash of a goddess's veil scattered casually, with a bit of charm and laziness.
The S-shaped river surface is mottled with tree shadows, and the shadow of the snow-capped mountains cuts it into two parts, half shade and half sun, just like two crescent moons, emitting different charming brilliance, and like two pieces of jade rings, transparent and watery.
The blurry colors reflected on the river bank seem as if a washerwoman in heaven had spilled paint, allowing colors that do not belong to the human world to spread layer by layer into the mirror-like water, blurring into a colorful veil.
Wow, wow, wow~ It's just like in the poster, how can it be so beautiful. The water surface has not been fully illuminated by the sun, and there are particularly clear shadows in the shadows. It is said that the color of the lake is different in each season, and the autumn in September is emerald. I am so glad that I came to Kanas at this time, the autumn colors are just right, the weather is just right, and everything is so beautiful.
During the peak season, there are many shuttle buses in Kanas Scenic Area. Self-driving cars and tourist buses can only park in the parking lot at the entrance of the scenic area. Self-driving cars are allowed to enter the scenic area during the off-season. For example, you can drive into the scenic area starting from October 15 this year.
Take the shuttle bus from the entrance of the scenic area to the transfer center, and you will pass the three most famous scenic spots: Wolong Bay, Moon Bay, and Shenxian Bay. At the transfer center, you can take another shuttle bus to Kanas New Village, Fish Watching Terrace, Kanas Lake or Baihaba Village. Kanas Old Village is right next to the transfer center, so there is no need to transfer again.
There are moon bays all over the country. Whenever you see a crescent-shaped body of water, you like to name it a moon bay. The moon bay in Kanas is also named because the Kanas River makes a big turn and forms a crescent-shaped river. Moon Bay is beautiful, like a crescent-shaped milky blue jade quietly placed in the green forest. The wooden plank road here is built along the river and paved all the way to Wolong Bay. Walking and watching the scenery all the way, it seems that there are only two of us on the Kanas River. We walk forward with the sound of gurgling water, exploring the unknown ahead, and because we are walking together, we feel more secure.
Moon Bay can be said to be the business card of Kanas. All the promotional photos of Kanas are basically Moon Bay. The beautiful and quiet Moon Bay changes with the water of Kanas Lake. It is a beautiful pearl embedded in the Kanas River. The Kanas riverbed forms several half-crescent river bays composed of reverse "S"-shaped bends, which are called "Moon Bay".
Moon Bay is the most exciting attraction in Kanas Scenic Area. The S-shaped river shows a beautiful curve. The viewing platform is right next to the road, about 40 meters above the river surface, and the viewing angle is also good for taking photos. Late September every year is the most colorful season.
The beautiful and tranquil Moon Bay is the landmark of Kanas and attracts many tourists. Standing on the high observation deck, you can admire the beautiful Moon Bay. The color of Kanas Lake changes with the weather, like a gem inlaid on Kanas Lake. There is a pair of bare footprints left by Chang'e when she flew to the moon, which also brings endless reverie.
Two fairy footprints in the Moon Bay are clearly visible. Walk down along the plank road from the Moon Bay Observation Deck, and then walk along the riverside plank road to the next bay - Wolong Bay. It is said that the scenery by the river is very beautiful. Note: The Moon Bay Observation Deck is the highest of the three bays. When we went down, we met people coming up from below, and they were all panting like cows. So don't go down to Wolong Bay and then climb up from Moon Bay. The riverside plank road is very flat all the way, the vegetation covers the sky, the air is fresh, and it is refreshing! There are really beautiful scenery along the way! ! !
The three famous bays in Kanas Scenic Area are Moon Bay, Wolong Bay and Shenxian Bay. Shenxian Bay is suitable for watching morning mist, Wolong Bay is named after an island that looks like a pterosaur lying down, and the most attractive one is Moon Bay where the first and last quarter moons are naturally connected and the lines are smooth. The real scene is like a bay of emerald embedded in the valley.
One of the three bays in Kanas Scenic Area, between Shenxian Bay and Wolong Bay, is the essence of the essence and the iconic attraction of Kanas. Kanas River draws a beautiful S-shaped curve here. You can see this iconic curve from the roadside viewing platform, and you can also go down to the river along the stepped plank road to appreciate the beauty of Moon Bay up close. Standing by the Moon Bay River, with clear water, colorful forests, and snow-capped mountains, at that moment you really feel like you are in a fairyland. It is really a pleasure to walk along the riverside plank road all the way to Wolong Bay downstream.
Moon Bay, the most beautiful spot in Kanas! I heard that in autumn, the trees on both sides turn golden and the lake water turns Tiffany blue, which is the most stunning time. I hope to have a chance to see Kanas in autumn again.
Moon Bay is located about 1 km upstream of Wolong Bay. It is an extension of the Wolong Bay. The Kanas Riverbed forms several half-crescent river bays composed of reverse "S"-shaped bends, which are called "Moon Bay". Moon Bay meanders through the river valley, and the water surface is as smooth as a mirror.
Moon Bay, the representative scenic spot of Kanas, is still very beautiful. The light was good in the afternoon, and we were lucky to take a picture of a rainbow. It is estimated that in a few days, the grass and trees around Moon Bay will change from dark green to emerald green, and with the colorful wild flowers, the scenery should be more beautiful.
Moon Bay should be regarded as one of the most beautiful and distinctive places in Kanas Scenic Area. The Kanas River forms a large S-shaped bend here. But maybe it was the wrong season when I went there. I didn’t see the sapphire blue water of the lake whether in the morning, noon or evening.
Moon Bay is an S-shaped river bay formed by the meandering Kanas Riverbed, shaped like a crescent moon. A light mist floats in the air, adding a sense of mystery. On both sides of the river valley, there are peaks and ancient trees.
The approximately 2-kilometer journey from Moon Bay to Wolong Bay is the most beautiful of the three bays. It is strongly recommended that visitors with sufficient energy go down the mountain from Moon Bay and walk along the plank road by the lake all the way to Wolong Bay. The whole journey takes about 1 hour. At the beginning, there is a long section of stairs down. Don't doubt, walk firmly and you can reach the water's edge. Of course, the stairs before Wolong Bay are a bit hard.
The scenery here is indeed a bit similar to Jiuzhaigou, but the difference is that Jiuzhaigou is delicate and lively, while Kanas is grand and open. The plank road sometimes winds along the lake, sometimes goes deep into the woods. Accompanied by the sound of flowing water, breathing the slightly cool air, and walking forward with your hands free. The scenery is as beautiful as an oil painting, the body is as light as a rabbit, and the mood is so relaxed that you want to fly.
Baidu Encyclopedia: Moon Bay of Kanas Lake is located about 1 km upstream of Wolong Bay. It is an extension of the Wolong Bay. The beautiful and quiet Moon Bay changes with the water of Kanas Lake. They are very strange and are called "Fairy Footprints" by the locals. This moon is also like a long blue bond.
The best scenic spot in Kanas Sanwan, where you can fly a drone
The goal this time was Kanas, and it was finally achieved.
It's not as nice as Shenxian Bay, mainly because it snows in winter and we can't go down to the river. It may be better in summer.
The most classic bay, also the symbol of Kanas, where many guns and cannons are assembled
One of the most beautiful scenery in the world, any photo you take is a blockbuster
The most photogenic spot in Kanas is Moon Bay, but unfortunately the viewing platform is very small and close to the road, which is not safe enough.
The second of the three bays of Kanas Lake is shaped like a crescent moon!
Can I write 15 beautiful characters? Really, in Xinjiang - the weak language skills are particularly prominent!

The ticket to Kanas Scenic Area is 275 yuan, including the shuttle bus. You can go back and forth between the Visitor Center, Jiadengyu, and Sanwan. However, if you go to Hemu, Baihaba, and Guanyutai, you need to buy a separate ticket, and the ticket also includes the shuttle bus. Sanwan itself does not require a ticket, and the bus fee is included in the scenic area ticket. Most tour groups take the route of Sanwan from south to north. The advantage is that after entering the scenic area, the arrangement is compact. However, it is best for individual tourists to arrange Sanwan in the morning, take a bus to Shenxian Bay at 7 o'clock, where the morning fog is wonderful, and then walk to Moon Bay and Wolong Bay. Because it is too dark to go to Moon Bay too early, and the morning fog will dissipate if you go to Shenxian Bay too late. There is no morning fog in Moon Bay most of the time. It will only appear on the next day if it rains the day before. The morning fog in Moon Bay is not ideal for tourists. Only under the light and shadow, the bay of clear water will change into strange colors, especially in Wolong Bay. If you don't have the chance to see the morning mist in Shenxian Bay, you must watch the sunrise in Hemu or Baihaba, otherwise your trip to Kanas will be a pity. The following photos were taken around 8:40 on September 12. The light was dim, but the light was just right when we arrived at Wolong Bay.

The scenery in early September is the most beautiful season of Kanas River, and Shenxian Bay is the jewel in the crown!
It is said that the hiking scenery from Moon Bay to Wolong Bay is the most beautiful, and it really lived up to its reputation. We walked down the wooden plank road in Moon Bay for more than an hour. The scenery along the way was so beautiful, with golden woods, blue lakes, and snow-capped mountains. We seemed to be in a colorful fairy tale world.
Moon Bay is probably the most popular of all the scenic spots in Kanas. It has become the symbol of Kanas, and its photos appear in almost all the publicity about Kanas. However, although I have seen many beautiful photos of Moon Bay when I was making the guide, I was still shocked when I really stood on the nearest viewing platform to see its beauty. Nature seems to have given all the beauty to Moon Bay, and Moon Bay seems to have devoted the most colorful colors to autumn. The lake meanders forward on the S-shaped river channel, like two bright moons falling into this valley full of ancient trees, with the flawless color of emerald against the verdant spruce and golden birch, against the towering snow-capped mountains and the clouds floating on the top of the mountain. At that time, the sun had hidden behind the mountain, and there was no more crystal light on the water surface, but the most rich and pure colors and the most tranquil expressions were left to the latecomers. Influenced by traditional culture, the moon is a symbol of softness and purity in our minds since childhood. For a long time, parents liked to use "Moon" as their daughters' names. Girls named after the moon carry the best expectations of their loved ones, and the Moon Bay named after the moon must also carry the Tuva people's inexpressible praise and attachment to the holy water of this lake.
Moon Bay is so beautiful no matter when you look at it!
It takes about 10 minutes to drive between Moon Bay and Shenxian Bay. When we arrived at Moon Bay, the fog was the thickest. In the misty mountains and forests, the beauty of Moon Bay could only be imagined by imagination. We originally planned to take a few photos and leave, but we never expected that the white fog in front of us would gradually become thinner and slowly dispersed, revealing the true appearance of Moon Bay hidden underneath.
This bay is indeed as its name suggests, Moon Bay. I have heard of it for a long time and it is a pleasure to meet you.
Looking down from the viewing platform, the flowing Kanas River seems to be still as it meanders here. The center of the bay is like a crescent moon, embedded in the lush valleys on both sides. The occasional bird calls, mixed with the rustling sound of the wind blowing through the treetops, seem to be the "residents" in this valley singing primitive songs. Moon Bay is actually very close to the nature imagined at that time. I personally think that Moon Bay has a very natural beauty. It is not like Baihaba Village, which requires a walk to experience carefully, nor is it like Kanas Lake, which is difficult to satisfy everyone. Moon Bay itself is a colorful oil painting. No matter men, women, young or old, scholars or laymen, they will be amazed at such scenery at first sight.
You can hike from Shenxian Bay to Moon Bay, which is 3.2 kilometers one way, all through the forest. The air in the morning is very cool and you can hear some birds singing.
The scenery on this hiking route is mediocre. There is no lake or mountain to be seen. It is quite boring to walk - and you may even fall! I suggest you don't walk this section. You can take the bus after visiting Shenxian Bay and get off at Moon Bay.
The name of Moon Bay is straightforward, and the scenery has long been spoiled in various photos. But seeing it with your own eyes is still very shocking. The wind has not risen, the water is like a mirror, and the forest is still. The two lines of trees are sprinkled with golden light.
Moon Bay is the most famous scenic spot in Kanas; it is a pearl inlaid on the Kanas River. The Kanas Riverbed forms an inverted S-shaped bay here, shaped like a half moon, which is called Moon Bay.
The water is like paint. From a distance, the water is still and looks like a painting. I personally think that Xinjiang has the best scenery in the country, with mountains, water and desert. It is more comfortable to look at than the scenery in the south.
It feels close at hand, yet actually out of reach, making one feel both near and far away, dazzling and captivating.
Moon Bay is indeed extremely beautiful.
Too beautiful, I can't bear to blink
I look back every three steps, and I am reluctant to move forward
Just one look at it and it may be imprinted in your mind and engraved in your heart for a lifetime.
The place where I stayed the longest was Moon Bay, because it has a wooden plank path going down to the lake. Even though it was drizzling, the reflections on both sides were still amazing!! (Other bays have relatively close planks.)
The scenery of Moon Bay is average, but the scenery on the way from Moon Bay to Shenxian Bay is still good.
The legendary Moon Bay did not shock me. It may be that my photography skills are limited and I cannot capture that kind of scenery. Anyway, I think it is very ordinary. It is not as beautiful as promoted in tourism promotions. It is really not worth the ticket price.
This man is so beautiful, I have many photos of him, but these old photos taken with my camera are just for commemoration.
The beautiful and tranquil Moon Bay changes with the water of Kanas Lake, like a bright pearl, illuminating the entire Kanas Lake. Several half-crescent river bays formed by reverse "S"-shaped bends are the core of the "Moon Bay". The Moon Bay meanders through the river valley, and the water surface is as smooth as a mirror.
In fact, Moon Bay is not big. The most important thing is to look at this moon-like bay.
When we arrived at Moon Bay, the morning mist had already dissipated, so we didn't have the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Moon Bay shrouded in morning mist. But it was still beautiful.
The color is so magical, it really is like a blue moon
At this time, looking down at Moon Bay from the mountain, you can see faint morning mist floating over Moon Bay. On both sides of the river, the mountains are full of dense forests, still with colorful colors of yellow and green. Due to the obstruction of the mountain behind, as the sun slowly rises, the sunlight gradually moves from the opposite hillside to the river valley and the hillside on this side, half bright and half dark. The water of Moon Bay also changes from lake green to blue-green to other colors with the change of light, presenting a dreamy color. The water color of Moon Bay River, the yellow and green mixed trees, the unique S shape, the mysterious and quiet atmosphere, bring us unspeakable beauty and enjoyment.
Autumn is really beautiful. There are so many people. I finally found a spot on the edge of the cliff, took a few pictures and left. It is much more beautiful than summer.
Moon Bay is so beautiful that I spent half an hour here, just staring at this natural picture. From Moon Bay to Wolong Bay, you must not take a car! Definitely, taking a car is stupid. Such scenery can only be unforgettable if you walk through it with your own feet.
The viewing platform is on the roadside, very narrow, and the angle for taking photos is limited, so everyone's photos are similar. From Moon Bay, you can go down to the river beach, and then walk along the wooden plank road to Wolong Bay, which is 2.2 kilometers away.
Walking along the winding Moon Bay by the river, you will see beautiful mountains and waters, and the air is fresher. While walking, you will cleanse your lungs, eyes, and soul, cleanse a transparent heart and eyes that can shed tears.
From Shenxian Bay, along the road all the way south, you can see a blue crescent-shaped lake in the canyon, which is Moon Bay. Kanas Lake draws the most beautiful arc here. In autumn, the lake water is Tiffany blue, the shore is covered with autumn trees, and the grasslands in the woods are dotted with cabins, which makes the companions exclaim that it is a fairyland. From overlooking to getting close to the lake, we seem to be uninvited guests who have broken into the fairyland. Going down to the river valley, it is just right to be in the light in the afternoon, and the color saturation is extremely high in the sun. The breeze blows down the unsteady yellow leaves on the trees in late autumn, which seem to be scattered and sparkling in the sun like gold powder.
Climb up the high iron steps, scoop up a handful of holy water in your hand, and ask for good luck. Then go down the stairs again and look at Moon Bay from afar. Its water is turquoise, or blue, sometimes milky, sometimes turquoise. Various minerals create the changing colors of Moon Bay.
Moon Bay, one of the three bays, is sandwiched between the east and west mountains. The river meanders along the mountains. Due to the height difference of the lake bottom and the influence of light, the river here presents magnificent and changeable colors. It is still necessary to walk on the plank road. The essence is here, with layers of forests dyed in color and the river water at the junction of emerald green and azure blue.
Kanas's famous "Three Bays" Shenxian Bay, Moon Bay, and Wolong Bay each have their own merits. I was very satisfied with the morning mist in Shenxian Bay, and Moon Bay still gave me many surprises. Many people say that Moon Bay does not look like a moon, but a big S. In fact, if you look closely or use a telephoto lens, you will find that there is a blue-green crescent hidden in the middle, and there are two big foot-like oases next to it.
The Kanas Riverbed forms several half-crescent river bays composed of reverse "S"-shaped bends, which are called "Moon Bay". Moon Bay meanders through the river valley, and the water surface is as smooth as a mirror. In the upper and lower river bays, there are two small beaches that look like footprints. They are very strange and are called "Fairy Footprints" by the locals.
The Moon Bay River is flanked by towering forests and mountains. It is a paradise for Siberian larch, birch, fir and spruce. It was late autumn when we went there, and half of the treetops were only branches, no longer golden and green. I hope I can come here in the most beautiful season in the future. In addition to the charming scenery, Moon Bay also has a major feature - the fairy footprints, which are actually the foot-shaped grass beach in the riverbed that has not been submerged by the lake water.
Personally, I think Moon Bay is the most beautiful bay.
When we arrived at Moon Bay, the sun had already risen and there was still a little morning mist, but it disappeared very quickly.
There were a lot of people and many flying drones, at least five or six in the sky.
Kanas is the most photographed place, the morning fog is beautiful, but it is impossible to get up early to see it~
A place where the colors of the world bloom so passionately and brilliantly. It seems that God wants to bless this place with all the beauty. On both sides are dense forests, emerald-colored rivers, and golden Siberian larch and birch trees interlaced.
When we arrived at Moon Bay, the sunlight was just right. The moon was half light blue and half dark blue, which contrasted beautifully with the surrounding yellow and green birch forest.
Moon Bay is one of the landmarks of Kanas. It is still very beautiful when you look down at Moon Bay. It mainly depends on the light. You can take pictures of the reflection when you go down.
When we arrived, we were disappointed. It was full of fog and we couldn't see anything. It was totally different from what we saw on postcards and videos. I was so disappointed. The rain was still falling. I wanted to wait even though I was disappointed. Gradually, the fog seemed to clear a little, and the most beautiful bend slowly revealed its true appearance.
Although I didn’t see the Moon Bay under the sun, it is still extremely beautiful like this, with a fairy-like air. It is also pretty good if it is perfect.
The scenery here is charming and there are few tourists. It is a great place to take blockbuster photos. The scenery here is great and the journey up is also interesting.
We arrived too early. The best time to take photos is around 11am.
But the morning is not without its advantages. A wisp of morning mist floating in from Shenxian Bay is the best compensation for the morning.
When we left the scenic area at 4pm, we passed Moon Bay again, but it was too reflective. It is recommended to take photos around 11pm.
When you arrive at Moon Bay, it seems as if time has stopped here. The winding river flows slowly without a ripple. The entire Moon Bay is like a piece of emerald jade, inlaid in the mountains. The white birch and cold maple in the mountains are layered with colors, just like God's palette.
If Shenxian Bay is a fairyland, then Moon Bay is the indelible outline on Kanas Lake, like the cinnabar mole and red lips on a beauty's face, and will always be the most dazzling stroke on Kanas Lake.
I have seen the Moon Bay in winter and summer. In winter, it is all white, and under the sunlight, it is divided into yin and yang, with one side golden and the other side dark blue. In summer, it is all green, the lake is green, the woods are green, and the vigorous expression of life is fully revealed at this moment. In autumn at this time, light yellow is mixed with emerald green, and the most dazzling thing is the lake water. The shallow bay lake will not be ignored at all because of its small size.
The most beautiful and graceful of the three bays, I walked to Wolong Bay and felt very amazing. It has the temperament of Northern Europe and the beauty of Jiuzhaigou.
The beauty of Moon Bay cannot be described in words. In late autumn, the green water reflects the yellow birch forest or spruce, fir, larch and other beautiful scenes that make you open your heart and forget yourself.
It is recommended to walk from Wolong Bay to Moon Bay, swim to the bottom of Moon Bay first, and then look back at the Moon Bay Observation Deck. This gives people the feeling that there are surprises everywhere in the deep clouds, and finally come to a conclusion, oh, Moon Bay is like this.
I just came back from Kanas and took a few photos with my phone, but I can only take photos from this angle...
From Shenxian Bay to Moon Bay, we still took the scenic bus all the way. When the station "Moon Bay" was announced, everyone was very excited. Almost all the tourists got off here. This is the most frequently appearing scenic spot on Kanas postcards and the most frequently appearing scenic spot in Kanas promotional photos. Many people are attracted by its perfect S-shaped curve. You can see the clear and pure bay of blue water in the canyon without climbing up to look down. Whether you look at it from a close distance or from a distance, Moon Bay is worth a closer look, and it is very attractive! Scenic area buses drove by one after another, bringing waves of tourists, and there were always crowds here, and everyone was reluctant to leave for a long time. Listening to the tour guide of the team tourists, there was a shallow beach in the shape of footprints in the distance. Legend has it that this is a pair of bare footprints left by Chang'e when she flew to the moon. There is also a legend that this footprint was left by Genghis Khan when he was chasing the enemy. Which version is it? Maybe it's just a legend.
