Qiongkushitai means "big platform" in Kazakh. Qiongkushitai has ravines and gullies, which is quite masculine in the grassland. Countless gullies cut vertically on the terrace, outlining the calm grassland like waves in the sea. Visitors can see the blue sky, white clouds, silver snow-capped mountains, dark green fir forests, light blue grasslands and colorful flowers under the white clouds. The colors are clearly layered and harmonious, forming a natural picture. If you put it another way, you can also say: under the blue sky and white clouds are snow-capped mountains, under the snow-capped mountains and fir forests is Qiongkushitai, and under Qiongkushitai is Karajun.
Qiongkushitai Village on the Qiongkushitai grassland is a Kazakh herdsman village. It is a small village on the hillside of Tianshan Mountain and the northern entrance of the Wusun Ancient Road. No one knew of its existence before. Since the flowers of Tianshan Mountain appeared in the world, its name has been known. Almost all the houses in Qiongkushitai Village are wooden buildings. Some houses are built with whole logs, and some houses are built by splitting logs in half from the middle through various techniques such as hollowing, mortise and tenon, and arch. The village is surrounded by mountains on all sides, and the houses are built by the water. The drinking water and domestic water of the villagers come from the Kurdai River. The river valley is wide and the water flows all year round.

The beautiful scenery on the road is used to interpret the 100-kilometer journey from Tekes to Qiongkushitai. Alpine grasslands, holy snow-capped areas, green ridges, golden wheat fields, and ancient villages can be seen everywhere along the way. Only when you embark on this journey yourself can you have the right to speak about it.
May, which has just gotten over the severe cold, is not the best season here, but it still has its own charm.
There are two viewing platforms and rest areas along the way. The public toilets are not open due to the off-season. The second viewing platform is very popular. You can overlook the beautiful human grassland by climbing up to the second floor.
The well-timed light and shadows hit the rugged hills, and the curves of the mountains also follow the rhythm.
Qiongkushitai is located in the Kuerdai River Valley, beside the Wusun Ancient Road. The ancient Wusun people followed this ancient road into the Ili River Valley, where they multiplied and established their country. Qiongkushitai is located at the northern entrance of the ancient road. Facing Kalajun, but not as famous as Kalajun, Qiongkushitai is a primitive, quiet treasure hidden deep in the Tianshan Mountains.
Qiongkushitai Village is next to Dongkalajun, and many hiking enthusiasts choose to hike from Kalajun to Qiongkushitai. Since there is an inaccessible ravine between Dongkalajun and Qiongkushitai, you must go back to Tekes to drive to Qiongkushitai.
You don't have to stay in the pastoral village in Qiongkushitai. I found that there are many accommodation spots along the valley near the village, and the view is wider. The road to Qiongkushitai is still under repair. It is foreseeable that one day after the highway is opened, the increasingly bustling village and the increasingly developed tourism industry will inevitably improve their reception capacity.
Snow Mountain Spruce is scattered around the snowy peaks. The nomadic people who once moved around without a fixed place to live have learned to build houses using local materials. Spruce is the raw material for their simple homes. The century-old wooden houses in the village that are still in good condition are a testimony to the change in the nomadic people's lifestyle.
We stayed at Yunzhen Ancient Road Villa, which is quite famous in the area! There were quite a lot of guests!
I would like to introduce the fried morel with meat, 268 yuan a plate. I thought I was ripped off at the time, but later I found out that dried morels are about 3,000 yuan a kilogram! It's too extravagant!
The cabin we stayed in at night was 80/person, which was quite a good deal!
We climbed up the mountain behind the Yunzhen Ancient Road, walked around and took some photos, and saw the whole picture of Qiongkushitai Village.
Qiongkushitai is actually part of the Kalajun grassland. There is no charge yet. Not many people know about it. The local government has not vigorously promoted it, but the road is being repaired now to prepare for future charges. Currently, two-thirds of the road is paved. The latter section is restricted during the day, from 8 am to 8 pm. We arrived at the restricted entrance on time, but it was not open until 10 o'clock that day. Qiongkushitai is still a hidden little village. The map shows that it is in the southwest corner of the Kalajun grassland. There is only one road to enter the village. In the past two years, the village has been electrified. Starting from the village, you can ride a horse eastward for 6 hours to reach the west gate of Kalajun. The inn we stayed in has a large yard. The inn is almost all wooden houses, but the decoration is very beautiful, which we did not expect. Of course, the price is also the most expensive night of this trip.
Qiongkushitai
Qiongkushitai is located near the Kalajun grassland in Tekes County, Yili. It is also called Tasbaza in Kazakh, which means Stone City. The gullies more than 100 meters deep in Qiongkushitai grassland are like troughs in the sea, extending into the distance in layers. The large terrace in front of the mountain is covered with green grass. The flat sky cuts countless gullies on the terrace, outlining the calm grassland like waves in the sea. What a dynamic beauty!
In the vast Qiongkutai grassland, time has stood still. Flocks of sheep and horses are scattered on the grassland. The wooden houses, white yurts and snow-capped mountains in the distance that are scattered like stars on the grassland form a beautiful picture of alpine grassland.
The price for horse riding in Qiongkushitai is 60 yuan per hour. You can get a horse after paying the fee in the village. I also rode a horse. I carried all my photographic equipment on my back and then rode up the mountain. It was more tiring than going up the mountain directly, because every time the pony took a step, my camera bag sank. Moreover, I couldn't free my hands to take pictures because I had to hold the reins and saddle with both hands.
After sending us to the hillside, the little boy's mission was accomplished, because he wanted us to go down the mountain immediately, so we simply didn't need him to continue leading the horse. We wanted to wait for the sun to set, and we wouldn't feel tired if we just walked down the mountain.
Sure enough, our choice was correct. The herdsmen driving their own horses home was not a performance, but a real local life experience.
I spent 4 days and 3 nights in Qiongkushitai, which is much longer than the average tourist's itinerary. During these days, I hiked, visited villages, photographed the starry sky, drank, partied, danced, ate and lived with the Kazakhs, and recorded many scenes of Kazakh life.
To get to Qiongkushitai from Yining, you need to take a bus to Tekes, the city of Bagua, at the bus station first, then take a taxi to Aijiang Hotel, from where you can take a shuttle bus to Qiongkushitai. We shared a small truck with herders, 50/person.
We arrived at the village just before sunset. It took 4 hours to drive there, but it was not as bumpy as we had imagined. Nowadays, the cement road leading to the village has been built to the entrance, and the road condition is very good.
There is a large field near the river at the entrance of the village. During the day, you can see the men in the village gathering here to wash horses, shoe horses, breed horses, etc.
There are two classic hiking routes in Qiongkushitai, one is to the alpine lake in the high pasture, and the other is the famous Wusun Ancient Road.
Qiongkushitai is located in Kaladala Township, Tekes County, hidden in the half slope of Tianshan Mountain, south of Kalajun Prairie, 90 kilometers away from the county seat. It is a pastoral village with more than 300 households and more than 1,700 people. The villagers of Qiongkushitai Village are mainly Kazakhs. The Kurdai River flows through the Kalajun Prairie under the Tianshan Mountains and then runs through Qiongkushitai Village. The villagers' lives and drinking water depend on the Kurdai River. On the way to Qiongkushitai Village, the rain gradually stopped and we could enjoy the scenery along the way. Because it belongs to the same grassland as Kalajun Prairie, the landform is similar, and green is the main tone. It takes about 100 kilometers from Kalajun to Qiongkushitai Village and takes 3 hours.
The next morning, when I woke up, the drizzle had stopped. When I opened the curtains, I was stunned by the view in front of me. The mountains opposite were all hidden in the white mist. I didn't have time to wash up, so I put on thick clothes and went out to take some photos.
Instead of returning along the same route at the entrance of the B&B, you can continue walking in the direction you came yesterday and leave Qiongkushitai Village. You will see different scenery, especially when you just left, it was still drizzling. When you looked back, it was foggy and you felt like you had just come down from a fairyland.
The gentle slopes at the foot of the mountain are covered with green grass, and the tall and green spruce trees are like the lines in an ink painting. The top of the mountain in the distance is covered with snow all year round, adding a touch of mystery. The mist floating on the mountainside makes this place even more dreamy...
Qiongkushitai, an ancient Kazakh village hidden deep in the Tianshan Mountains, is as beautiful as a painting along the way. It is about 90 kilometers away from Tekes Bagua City and can be traveled back and forth in one day.
It feels like walking in Europe here. No, it should be Europe like here. What is before our eyes is like a series of oil paintings, full of green, full of fir trees, full of romance. It is like a paradise on earth.
Qiongkushitai Village is a pastoral village in Tekes County, Yili Prefecture. It is located at the foot of the northern foot of the Southern Tianshan Mountains, closer to the Tianshan Mountains than Kalajun, and about 90 kilometers away from Tekes County. When I came here in June 2019, nearly 70 kilometers of the 90-kilometer journey were asphalt roads with good road conditions. The road near the village for more than 20 kilometers was a gravel road with potholes and a bit difficult to walk, but the road is being repaired and it is estimated that it will be all asphalt roads in 2020. Now the village is becoming more and more famous, and herders have begun to switch to the tourism industry. There are many inns. The scenery of the village itself is average. The best scenery can only be seen in the mountains, so you need to live in the village and have good physical strength to walk. The valley in the last photo is a small river. You can walk along the river from here into the mountains.
The newly developed pastoral village is still relatively primitive from the scenery along the way to the facilities. But it is a real paradise, where time flows much slower than outside the mountains, and it is really beautiful.
No tickets required yet
But there is only one road leading into the village by the stream.
I guess they will fence it off and charge admission tickets.
Out of 5 stars
See various canyons and grasslands
It is especially beautiful after the rain. It is recommended to visit for 1-2 days.
Almost all the houses in Qiongkushitai Village are made of wood. The most eye-catching thing is that the wooden roofs are covered with soil and planted with grass to prevent the soil from being washed away by water.
It's a pity that I only used it as the starting point for hiking and didn't take the time to get to know it in depth. The original atmosphere is stronger, and it would be a good choice for those who want to pursue tranquility.
It is nearly 90 kilometers from Tekes to Qiongkushitai. At the beginning, the topography felt similar to that of Guangdong. As the car drove into the winding hills, the friends couldn't help but scream. The next 80 kilometers were almost all scenery, snow-capped mountains and grasslands, hilly forests, river valleys and streams, wooden houses and felt tents, carriages, horses, cattle and sheep. It is not an exaggeration to call it a condensed version of "Ili Impression". The weather on our way there was not bad. Large pieces of cotton-like cumulus low clouds floated in the sky, but it felt very close to the ground. The visual experience brought by the first-person perspective of self-driving is first-class, especially when going uphill, the blue sky and white clouds that suddenly and gently invaded the field of vision were just like driving flat on the clouds. (For more, please see my travel notes)
The scenery along the way is breathtaking. Although the driving time is a bit long, the car is driving in the painting, with snow-capped mountains in front. It is a simple, peaceful and leisurely ancient village. I strongly recommend it! You must go!
You won't know until you come here. Your wish to stay in a cabin, ride horses, and hike in Tianshan Mountain has been perfectly fulfilled. w--222-54-08-212--------I love this place so much
The scenery along the way is really beautiful, the grasslands and snow-capped mountains make people linger. But the biggest disadvantage is that there is no Internet signal (local people's mobile phones have it), it is recommended to buy a Xinjiang card, and the accommodation conditions are very poor. But for the beautiful scenery, everything is worth it
The scenery is great, but it's too far away. It takes 3 hours to get there from Tekes.
The original beauty, no tour groups. The natural scenery along the way is much more beautiful than the Kalajun Scenic Area
It seems that there is a charge, and the price is a bit expensive. The scenery along the way is nice.
It is 90 miles from the county town, and takes three hours by minibus. The cost is very high. There is less snow on the top of the mountain from the end of July. In August, the herders will cut grass.
If you want to know where heaven is, it is in Qiongkushitai.
The village is full of concentrated houses in rows, so just find a hill you like and stay there on the way to the village.
My God, there is such a beautiful place! . .
Primitive, leisurely, instantly forget the complexity and hustle and bustle of the city, beautiful!!!
The winding and rugged mountain roads, the endless grasslands, and the snow-capped mountains are so beautiful.
Qiongkushitai is the most primitive grassland in Yili. Because the road is not easy to walk, not many people go there.
The village is still full of dirt roads. In recent years, the village has become more famous, and there are many pastoral homestays in the village. The conditions of those opened by local herdsmen are a little worse, while the environmental and sanitary conditions of those opened by outsiders are obviously much better, but the prices are also expensive, basically more than 300.
We went to the village early in the morning and wandered around. There were primitive wooden houses, not many tourists, and the village was not big. From time to time, villagers sold horseback riding. Apart from being primitive and simple, the scenery was average. The scenery along the river was more beautiful. The river passed through the dense forest. There were scattered felt houses, wooden houses, cows, and horses by the river and in the dense forest. The sun shone on the distant mountains and forests, creating a peaceful and fresh Swiss scenery.
The scenery of Qiongku is very beautiful. Of course, the mountain road leading to the village is also winding. We entered the village in the morning and left the village the next morning. On the way, we saw the human grassland in the early morning. It was very beautiful and quiet. Before it was developed, it was highly recommended to visit. Wusun Ancient Road, human grassland.
You can find accommodation here when you arrive and bargaining is supported. There are not many places that can be booked online. Generally, you can book directly through WeChat in other people's travel notes and add the boss.
Qiongkushitai is a Kazakh village. The accommodation is not very good, but it is okay and you can sleep.
Qiongkushitai is the end of Kalajun and the starting point of Wusun Ancient Road. Last year, I was in a hurry to go to Qiongkushitai. Now I want to take a good look at the spruce river, pasture and the calves of the owner. There is a wooden bridge not far away. We walked a few times to get a feel for it.
Far away from the town, hidden in the valley, it is like a paradise. There is a brilliant starry sky that cannot be seen in the city, and the waterfall-like Milky Way is clearly visible. The towering Siberian larch breaks into the brilliance above the head in the dark night, turning into a silhouette to embellish it. With a swish, the children's screams broke the tranquility of the night, and a meteor streaked across the sky. This is a scene that children who grew up in the city have only seen in picture books. And how many times have adults really seen it?
The temperature in the mountains at night was close to zero degrees. The scorching summer heat during the day turned into shivering in the night. Even though I ate meat with big mouthfuls and drank wine with big bowls, I still felt a little cold when I slept that night.
Qiongkushitai is a Kazakh village located in a valley. Due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, it has not yet been overdeveloped.
Most of the houses in the village are log cabins built according to the living customs of the Kazakh nomads, and many of them are more than 100 years old.
TIPS:
Qiongkushitai is located in a valley, with a huge temperature difference between day and night. The temperature is about 30 degrees during the day and close to zero at night, so be sure to bring warm clothes;
The mobile phone signal in Qiongkushitai Village is very poor, and the Internet signal is basically unavailable. China Unicom users can enjoy a short 3G network around 11:00 noon every day.
The morning dew in the village is heavy in the early morning. Although the moist air is cool, it moistens the lungs and the heart. Such air is simply a luxury for city dwellers.
Many squirrels were running around in the village in the early morning, with orange-brown bodies and big gray and fluffy tails. They looked exactly like the ones I saw in cartoons when I was a child! I am very familiar with the gray squirrels in Canada and have seen the black squirrels in the UK, but this was the first time I saw such a textbook-like squirrel in my childhood memory. I couldn't help but feel excited. Please forgive me for being surprised.
Qiongkushitai is the most westernmost village in China that we have taken the children to so far, and it is also the most unforgettable accommodation experience that the children have experienced so far. The temperature difference between day and night is as high as 30 degrees; having breakfast with various small animals and insects; learning to walk on the muddy roads covered with cow and horse dung in the village with deep affection and joy; learning to calmly go to the toilet in the toilet where the door is not closed tightly, the wooden boards creak, and the head is often wet with dew...
The Kazakh young men herding their sheep in such scenery are just going about their daily lives, but they have inadvertently become a true idyllic landscape painting in the eyes of others.
The snow on the mountain began to melt and formed a stream that ran through the entire village. The pastoral homestay where we stayed was right next to the stream.
I woke up naturally in the morning, and the weather finally cleared up. I got up and lazily basked in the sun and was in a daze. I finished breakfast at 11 o'clock and went for a walk on the mountain. I passed by a herdsman's house, playing Kazakh songs, and I couldn't help but dance to the rhythm of the music. The cows, sheep and horses on the hillside were eating grass freely and singing songs~ I was intoxicated in this free world...
When you meet herds of cattle, sheep, and horses on the road, most of them will stop and look at you. The cattle always look at you with contempt and continue walking slowly, while the sheep will run away in a flash.
Fairytale Village - A paradise in the mountains, the starting point of the Wusun Ancient Road, this is a village forgotten by the world. Grasslands, streams, sheep, horses, wooden houses. Hike Kalajun or ride a horse to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. The village is filled with the smell of fireworks in the evening
Qiongkushitai is not the most beautiful, the most beautiful scenery is on the road. If you like to take pictures of the starry sky, you can stay here at night. There are cabins and accommodation is very convenient. Now cars with less than 7 seats are allowed to pass. There is a section of the road that is not in good condition, gravel road, pay attention to driving safety.
On the way to Qiongkushitai, we met two older sisters who told us that we could only go to Kalajun by horse or on foot from Qiongkushitai. There was no ticket check when we arrived at the scenic spot, and we could take the shuttle bus at will. We rushed all the way, and the road to Qiongkushitai was all rough. Every time a car passed by, smoke rose everywhere. This dusty, winding, rough road was really a test for our car... The facts told me that Qiongkushitai was the right choice. My brother showed me a video of the beautiful scenery near Qiongkushitai. There were snow-capped mountains all around, an ice lake in the middle, and only a rugged path for people or horses to walk on. It was really beautiful. Not many people know about this scenic spot. The snow-capped mountains and ice lakes are really refreshing.
A quiet and peaceful place hidden deep in the mountains, with pure sky, boundless grassland, fresh fragrance of flowers and plants, revealing the most primitive breath of life. In midsummer, with lush grass and warm weather, local Kazakh herdsmen usually drive cattle and horses to graze on the fertile grassland. The snow-capped mountains, grasslands, river valleys, and forests are beautiful all year round, like a paradise.
Qiongkushitai mainly offers horseback riding tours (80 yuan per hour). There are three routes, namely the Alpine Lake Route (6 hours), the Wusu Ancient Road Route (through the forest along the river, 4 hours), and the Kalajun Grassland Route (3-4 hours). Some tourists directly hike for 7 hours or ride horses from the Flower Terrace in the Kalajun Scenic Area to Qiongkushitai, which can save 4 hours of driving, but you need to contact the inn owner of Qiongkushitai in advance for horse riding, and he will bring horses to pick you up. We chose the Alpine Lake Route, crossing the alpine grasslands and the snow-capped spruce forests all the way. The scenery is like Switzerland under the Alps, which is beautiful and the best experience during the trip. The end of the horse riding is not at the Alpine Lake. It is said that you have to walk for more than an hour after getting off the horse. The lake is not very big. We played near the end and did not climb up the Alpine Lake again.
The grasslands of Qiongkushitai are very well preserved. The grass is knee-high in the best places, and riding a horse here is very heroic.
All buildings in Qiongkushitai are made of wood, and many houses have a history of more than 100 years. It is also the only area where the Kazakhs do not sleep in yurts.
It is recommended to stay at the herdsmen's house not far from the village. As long as the surrounding scenery is good, stay overnight. Don't stay in the center of the village. It is too commercialized, and it is still the kind of immature commercialization. There is nothing to see. It seems to be built according to Lijiang.
A small village that seems isolated from the world, with herders' houses scattered among the endless grasslands. Primitive means of transportation and primitive nomadic life. Riding horses, feeding cattle and herding sheep. There is even a power outage at night. Only the chirping of insects and birds in the mountains and forests.
Qiongkushitai is the most beautiful place in my trip. It also proves once again that you should not be superstitious about tickets when you come to Xinjiang. The free scenery may be more beautiful. There is a short section of the road to Qiongkushitai that is not easy to walk, but overall, the road condition is pretty good. There are not many people coming to Qiongkushitai, and the scenery is very pristine. When I went there, the road was under construction, and there were restrictions on traffic at certain times. If you want to go, be sure to ask for a good time.
It's really great. As a local of Yili, I was really surprised when I went there for the first time. It's really comfortable to sleep in the wooden house. It's a different experience. It's really good, but the road is very difficult to walk.
Walking along the road to Qiongkushitai, you can see an observation deck where you can see large expanses of human grassland and high mountains in the distance. The second half of Qiongkushitai is a full 4 hours of mountain road, with alpine grassland scenery all the way. You will pass a village in the valley, where you can see the smoke from cooking in the morning. When you are close to Qiongkushitai Village, you can also see some homestays, and there will basically be signals, but there will be no signals at all after passing the homestays. When you arrive at Qiongkushitai Village, you will find that the entire village is full of various homestays, and most of the village is building houses.
This is a small pastoral village where you can appreciate and capture some of the living conditions of the herdsmen. We walked around the village and felt that the herdsmen had a strong atmosphere and fresh air. We liked the layout of pine trees far and near, and overlooked the small grassland scenery with human habitation in the whole village. To go to Qiongkushitai, starting from Tekes, there is only one bus a day. The road is currently under construction and will be closed during a period of time. It is best to ask the owner of the youth hostel or homestay you are staying in before departure. We went there by chartering a car. There was no suitable car. The owner of the homestay helped us. It happened to be the birthday of the owner's father. Their family moved 3 cars and accompanied us to Qiongkushitai. Generally, the owner can also introduce a suitable charter car. The owner of the Tekes homestay where we live is a good family. We chartered a car for two days and stayed for a total of 3 days. We experienced authentic Shaanxi-Gansu cuisine and ate 3 or 4 tons of rice, which was very happy~ The owner's phone number is: 155 5921 5553. The surname is Xing
Qiongkushitai is the place I most anticipated on this trip. It can be said that I came to Xinjiang just for this village.
We ate the freshest lamb skewers and drank kavas on the grassland. After dinner, our Kazakh friends who are good at singing and dancing sang and danced with us. We all had a great time together!

The most beautiful part is on the way to Qiongkushitai, where you can stay one night in the village.
We did not choose Nalati or Bayinbuluke, but chose Kalajun
In fact, it proves that our choice is correct.
Kalajun is a very vast and spectacular grassland.
There are snow-capped mountains and canyons
Because I brought the elderly and children with me, in order not to rush
Choose to stay in a yurt on the grassland
In fact, it turns out that my choice was correct.
The yurt we stayed in was probably the best yurt in the entire Kalajun area.
Facing the snow-capped mountains, the human grassland is in the distance on the right, and the flower terrace is on the left after crossing the grass slope. Going a little further, you can see the Grand Canyon.
It can be said that you can appreciate the essence of Kalajun without going out.
The guy we contacted was also very nice, warm and thoughtful, and helped us a lot on this trip
His WeChat ID is 2225408212
Here is the photo of this guy. If you need it, you can contact him.
Don't come. At least not recommended at the moment. The scenery is nice, but the road is long and commercialized rapidly. Horseback riding costs 80 yuan per hour, which is expensive. It takes four hours to start from Tekes. The most tragic thing is that the road is closed due to road construction. If you are unlucky, you will spend a whole day on the road and arrive at midnight.
Personally, communicating with the herdsmen is a good experience: drinking freshly squeezed milk every day and riding horses on the grassland.
It is a very unique village. It is not commercialized. The villagers are very kind and friendly. You can also ride horses to see the snow-capped mountains. The scenery along the way is very beautiful, with green grass, blue sky, and herds of cattle, sheep and horses (but my butt hurts...). I like it there! It feels like a paradise~
Qiongkushitai, a place that will not disappoint you. The road to Qiongkushitai is quite winding. I wanted to sing the mountain road here with eighteen bends and nine links, but I feel that there are more than eighteen bends here. Anyway, there is one bend after another. When we went there, part of the asphalt road had been repaired, and the road condition was still good. However, because the road was still under construction, there were some restrictions on the travel time, so we had to adjust the itinerary a little later.
It is so beautiful. Fortunately, I came here this time. It is just like what my friends said. All the scenery I have seen before is not as good as you. Friends who have been to Daocheng Yading, known as "the last piece of pure land on earth", said that they don't need to go to Daocheng after coming here. It is far inferior to this place.
Qiongkushitai is full of traditional wooden houses. The wooden structure village contains a strong Kazakh culture and records the daily life of herdsmen. You can stay in a small house at night and go out to see the starry sky.
Another great place here is the stream next to the small village. It is very beautiful. In the gurgling water, you can see a horse passing by when you look up. It is a great place to shoot blockbuster movies.
Under the golden sunshine, Qiongkushitai is so beautiful. Qiongkushitai is my favorite place in northern Xinjiang. The magnificent and fresh grasslands and snow-capped mountains, the beautiful sunset and starry sky, I will return to Xinjiang for this place!
Quiet, isolated, wild, vast, primitive...all the adjectives you think of to describe the purest and most beautiful things can be used to describe Qiongkushitai without exaggeration.
This place combines all the styles of Baishifeng, Xiate, Zhaosu and Nalati, and is more colorful and pure. There are several small wooden houses built in the jungle, just like the houses of the seven dwarfs in the story of Snow White, which are simple and kind, lonely and quiet. Hundreds of years old trees are densely packed but neatly arranged on the hillside with vast green grass as the curtain. The grass slope under your feet is full of yellow, red, purple and blue wild flowers. Cows and sheep are leisurely, and sometimes the laughter of children driving horses galloping past resounds through the valley...
This is what my paradise looks like.
Qiongkushitai was still a pure land at that time. There were not many villagers who could speak Chinese. Children and young people who had been to school could basically communicate in clumsy Chinese.
I follow the traces of the past step by step, and there are places that I miss very much. If you ask me where I love the most in the whole northern Xinjiang, I will definitely give this love to Qiongkushitai without reservation. I accidentally fell in love with it. I like the small wooden houses with green grass on the roof, the gullies with light and shadows interlaced when the sun shines, and the sky full of stars at night. Kalajun-Qiongkushitai is as quiet and peaceful as a paradise village.
Qiongkushitai was not a planned tourist attraction in this trip. Thanks to the introduction of a friend whom I have known for ten years but have never met, I was able to see such a beautiful village during this trip to Xinjiang.
Standing on the observation deck and looking down, the scenery is very charming. At present, the observation deck is not open to the public and is being improved. It is estimated that by this time next year, Qiongkushitai will charge admission tickets like other scenic spots, and self-driving cars will not be allowed to enter.
Coming here brought me back to the feeling I had in Yubeng Village ten years ago. The air is fresh and the scenery is pleasant. The key is that it is still a quiet village that has not been commercialized. At night, I finally saw the starry sky as I wished. It's a pity that the photography equipment is not up to standard, otherwise I must freeze it forever.
Horses are the primary means of transportation in the area, and people basically rely on them for travel, followed by motorcycles! Women riding horses are very cool, right? The women in the village are also very fashionable, and many of their clothes have been Chineseized!
There are horse caravans transporting daily supplies. Qiongkushi is not too far from Tekes County. If there are not many cars, 3.5 hours is enough for a one-way trip, and a round trip takes about 7 hours. There are two shuttle buses in the village every day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, which is convenient for entering and leaving.
The golden sea of flowers and green wheat fields stretch endlessly, and in the distance are snow-capped mountains, making people feel as if they are in a dream and reluctant to leave.
Qiongkushitaibereke welcomes everyone to come. Accommodation has standard rooms with separate bathrooms, single rooms, triple rooms, tatami, and yurts. You can ride horses. It doesn't matter if you don't know how to ride. I will take you riding.

This place has long been commercialized, and it is similar to Kanas Hemu Baihaba. They only recognize money and not people. In fact, if the scenery is good, it doesn't matter if they recognize money and not people. The key is that there is nothing here. I really don't understand why so many people are rushing here. What is there here? In my opinion, there is nothing. There is no scenery, no food, no service, no convenient transportation, no basic living facilities, and even no Internet. There are only high prices and indifferent human touch. Every household is busy making money. No one cares about service. In their eyes, tourists are just RMB that moves. Most of the people who come here are the kind who don't know how to play. After arriving, they eat a roasted whole lamb, take a photo of their visit, and leave. I believed some people's words before, and I only regret it after arriving. I regret it very much.
Qiongkushitai is a famous historical village, the northern entrance of the Wusun Ancient Road, and a village dominated by wooden buildings.
The Kazakh people are simple and hardworking.
The valleys here are crisscrossed with gullies, surrounded by mountains on all sides, and the houses are all built along the water.
This water is the winding Kurdai River, with rapid currents and loud noises.
In the evening, I took a walk along the Kurdai River, watching the herdsmen walking their horses and waiting for the sunset. Because the weather turned cloudy in the afternoon, it was very gratifying to see such a sunset. The animals in the small village had gone home, and the village entered a peaceful state...
Qiongkushitai in the early morning is peaceful and energetic
It is 92 kilometers from Tekes to Qiongkushitai, and it takes more than 3 hours. There are asphalt roads and gravel roads, which are not easy to walk on, especially the uphill and downhill sections. Because the slopes are steep and it rains, snows and freezes in winter, it is unsafe. There is no asphalt, and there are few pedestrians and vehicles along the way.
The roads in Qiongkushitai Village are all dirt roads, and vehicles and horses running past raise a lot of dust!
Many inns have been built in Qiongkushitai, as well as supermarkets and ATMs. During the day, small hydroelectric power and solar power are used together. At night, the solar energy is gone and the small hydroelectric power cannot supply power. Mobile phones and power banks should be fully charged during the day. There is hot water for bathing during the day, but only cold water at night.
The village is surrounded by mountains and the houses are built along the water. It is a beautiful place with green mountains and clear waters!
A place you yearn for, with beautiful mountains and waters. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Relieve stress.
There is no gas station for nearly 100 kilometers from Baguacheng to Qiongkushitai, and you must return to Baguacheng to refuel after leaving Qiongkushitai, which means there is no gas station for about 200 kilometers round trip, so you must fill up your gas tank when leaving the city.
In addition to the scenery on the road, my favorite is Qiongkushitai, because it is like a hobbit's home! Alpine meadows, primeval forests, low wooden houses, roofs covered with green grass... When it's time to cook, the smoke from the small wooden house is so fairy-tale-like.
Qiongkushitai is good in every way except that the conditions are limited and you can't take a shower. Hope it will change in the future? But if the conditions really get better and there are more people, it will become another popular attraction... I think I'll forget it.
Entering Qiongkushitai, the weather started to change again. Locals said that this is how the weather is here, sometimes sunny, sometimes rainy.
Entering Qiongkushitai, it feels like a different world. There is basically no internet here. The village is inhabited by friendly Kazakhs and is surrounded by mountains. The houses are built along the water, making it like a fairy-tale village deep in the grassland.
In the early morning, smoke rises, and Qiongkushitai slowly wakes up under the sunshine, revealing the most primitive breath of life.
The herdsmen here are very friendly to tourists. They will say hello when they see you. It reminds me that the Tibetans in Yubeng Village will also greet tourists with "Tashi Delek".
Qiongkushitai Animal Husbandry Village does not require tickets at present. It is like a paradise, beautiful as a painting, and it is the kind of primitive beauty.
Actually, the beautiful scenery of Qiongkushitai is all on the way. There is nothing to see in Qiongkushitai Village. It often rains, it is very cold, and the muddy roads are also very dirty, so I think you can go back after walking more than halfway, unless you want to live in the village. Passing by thousands of acres of rapeseed fields, it is very beautiful.
Qiongkushitai is so beautiful that the hard journey was worth it. More importantly, it had been raining in the mountains for a few days before, but it was sunny on the day we went there. We came at the right time.
The road to Qiongkushitai is quite dangerous. The dirt road around the mountain is extremely bumpy. There are obvious signs of falling rocks and landslides on the mountain. It is impossible to come here on rainy days.
The place is really picturesque, but the signal here is very poor. There is no signal on the phone on a slightly rainy day.
