Wucai Beach

Wucai Beach is located in Burqin County, Altay Prefecture, in the northern part of Xinjiang. It is located on the first and second terraces on the north bank of the Irtysh River, the only river in my country that flows into the Arctic Ocean. It is 480 meters above sea level. It is 24 kilometers away from Burqin County in the direction of Habahe County and is also the only way to Kanas Lake Scenic Area. On April 13, 2018, it was shortlisted for the "100 Magical Northwest Scenes".

There is a large wind power generation site in front of Wucai Beach Scenic Area. The mountains on the north bank are undulating and colorful, which are formed by the erosion and cutting of fierce rivers and strong winds. Due to the different strengths of the weathering resistance of the riverbank rock layers, the uneven outlines are formed. The colors of the rocks here are varied, and under the sunlight at sunset, the colors of the rocks are mainly red, with green, purple, yellow, white, black and transitional colors, which are colorful. Whenever the wind blows, strange sounds of varying lengths and heights will be heard everywhere in the gullies and under the rocks.

Wucai Beach was originally named Zhima Beach, and it is famous for the many small black stones like sesame on the beach. Zhima Beach is particularly beautiful after the tide recedes, with huge volcanic rocks layered one after another, which are particularly magnificent under the sunlight. Large areas of volcanic lava are exposed, which are particularly wide. In many places, the sea water receded, but there were still puddles of water left.

We met many scarf-wearing ladies who were posing in graceful styles. Before we set off, we were joking about whether we should bring a bright red scarf for a day, so that we could learn how to pose from these ladies. Personally, I think the colors of Wucai Beach will be more vivid and more beautiful in the morning and evening. The midday sun is too strong and too white, so the colorful colors are not so vivid. There is a large field of sunflowers outside the Wucai Beach Scenic Area, and a large group of windmills. The sun is shining in the sky, and the flowers are smiling at me~~~ We had a good time here~ The sunflowers are facing the rising sun, and they are particularly beautiful under the blue sky.

This is a must-see attraction on the way to Kanas, so many people will stop by to have some fun. Wucai Beach, as the name suggests, is a colorful river beach. I guess it should be a Yadan landform similar to the Danxia landform in Zhangye. It is said that "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was also filmed here. A Luo and I chose not to spend the money without thinking. However, the scenic spot is also very smart. A gate and a long wall surround the entire scenic spot tightly. If you want to see a colorful river beach from a distance, I advise you not to think about it. However, standing in the tourist service center next to the ticket office, you can appreciate a bit of the style of Wucai Beach through the window: thanks to the lack of industrial pollution, you can see the sparkling Irtysh River running through a jungle under the blue sky, and the barren gray-yellow mountains in the distance form a sharp contrast with the dark green river valley.

We got some hot water at the visitor center and then went to the gate to hang out. The sun was so hot that it made people feel hot. The small yellow and purple flowers I took photos of with my phone were all glowing... On the small hillside beside the gate road, there were many tall wind turbines. We looked at them with interest for a long time, but we couldn't stand the sun's scorching heat, so we ran to the shade to listen to the gossip of an uncle in black stockings in the same car. During this time, someone flew a drone in the parking square and was stopped by the security guards. He dared to fly a drone without permission in the border area. This guy was really letting himself go.

The windmill squeaked and turned slowly. The scenery here is so beautiful. The sky is beautiful! The land is beautiful! There is also a group of happy friends! After a while, everyone returned to the car from the river beach.

We arrived in Burqin to catch the sunset at Wucai Beach. There was a force 8 gale, which at least took half my life. The entrance to the scenic area was empty. Two policemen appeared when we approached and invited us into the house to register. There were 5-6 people in the house, which I thought was more than all the tourists who came that day. Who would come if they charged 50 yuan in such a strong wind? Anyway, we came here to take a look. Judging from the photos, it was not a wasted trip, but my memory is fragmented. There is a saying that goes "consciousness is blurred". This time it was caused by the wind.

It is a river beach famous for its Yadan landform. The hills here have peculiar geology, showing a variety of colors, which are gorgeous and fantastic, very spectacular. On the other side is a dense poplar forest, which is reflected in the river and has a beautiful scenery. Every evening, under the reflection of the morning sun or the sunset, the mountain seems to be burning, like a palette overturned on the river beach, magnificent and rare.

Beautiful things always pass away easily. Wucai Beach is the most beautiful under the setting sun only one hour before sunset. As the afterglow fades and the sky gets dark, Wucai Beach becomes dull and ordinary, so you should hurry up to take pictures.

Friendly reminder: It is not suitable to wear skirts when going to Wucai Beach in the evening. Remember to bring mosquito repellent. Once it gets dark, long-legged mosquitoes will stick to you directly, and you can't get rid of them even if you hit them. It's so scary! We were so scared that we ran back to the car.

After visiting Wucai City and Wucai Beach, I no longer felt the excitement of seeing Danxia landforms for the first time. Wucai Beach, where the Irtysh River flows, has two banks, one north and one south, with arid and wind-eroded red soil hills on one side and oasis sand on the other. In the distance, there is a suspension bridge with a group of cattle and sheep passing by one after another. It was sunset, and the red sun gradually fell and began to be swallowed by the horizon. It first disappeared by a small half, then by half, and finally was completely swallowed up. The whole process took only ten minutes. The "magic" performed by nature at any time can always amaze people! When the bustling crowd disperses, the colorful Wucai Beach will soon return to calm. Only the gravel rock layer that has gone through tens of millions of years, and the Irtysh River that flows from east to west into the Arctic Ocean, continue to watch the sunset stars and the wild geese passing by day after day and year after year.

Some people may not know Burqin, but everyone must know Wucai Beach with Danxia landform. It is a very famous place and it is worth the trip. Only after coming here do I know what is the truly shocking beauty of nature. I can't find very appropriate words to describe its beauty. After playing, everyone went back to the town to rest. When I came to Burqin before, I went to the riverside night market once. What impressed me most was the Kanas Festival. I didn't expect that it would be changed to the Grand Theater this time. It was really beautiful. I have become a repeat customer of Laojie BBQ City. Hahaha, good quality, no need to say more!

Wucaitan is a privately developed scenic spot. It is not as magnificent as Qicai Danxia. The most intuitive thing is that it is much smaller in area. Qicai Danxia has 5 scenic areas. You need to take a scenic bus to connect between the areas. It is a large area that you can't see the end. Wucaitan can be reached on foot. There are also several viewing platforms, but the area is not large. One side is connected to the river and the other side has many wind turbines. But one thing that Wucaitan wins is that its colors are richer than Qicai Danxia. Although Qicai Danxia seems to have two more colors than Wucaitan in terms of its name, in fact, Qicai Danxia is mainly red, yellow and brown; Wucaitan is indeed five real and obvious colors. In addition to the red, yellow and brown colors commonly seen in Yadan geology, there are also purple and green. These two colors really made me shine. This is not a multi-color caused by man-made. I am really amazed at the wonderful nature. So even if the weather is not good, it rained a little during the tour, and the sky was pale and I couldn't take pictures, but I was still glad to be here and see such a magical scenery.

After returning from Wucai Beach, we stopped at Burqin. Burqin is known as a fairytale border town. It really lives up to its reputation. Passersby recommended that we go to the Burqin Riverside Night Market. There is a large parking lot next to it, as well as the local theater in Burqin. After watching the theater, we can come to the Riverside Night Market. We went to a random place and went to the Old Street BBQ City. I found out that this is the only restaurant in the night market with air-conditioned private rooms and bathrooms. It feels quite clean. I went to the right place. The food is very delicious. A place specializing in cold water fish. Highly recommended.

The colorful beach at sunset is definitely worth the price of the ticket. A river separates the two banks, creating two completely different worlds: one side is poplar forest, and the other side is Yadan landform.

Wucai Beach sunset is the time for all major tour groups to check in, so there are a lot of people during this time. The north and south banks shine in each other's light, and it is the first time we have seen such a scene of two banks on one river. The north bank is a Yadan landform formed by the impact of the river and the erosion of the strong wind. Unlike the Devil City, the Yadan landform here is cliff-like. Because it is adjacent to the Irtysh River, the wind resistance of the riverbank rock layer is different, and the surface contour is uneven.

Under the decoration of the setting sun, different minerals in the rocks change into various colors due to their different varieties, mainly red, slowly transitioning from orange, yellow, white, and black, blending in the color system, hence the name Wucai Beach.

After losing the light of sunset, Wucai Beach regained its original ruggedness of the Yadan landform. The exposed rock surface records every gust of wind blowing from the Irtysh River.

The sun was very strong, but the Wucai Beach scenic area was not very large, so we finished the tour in just over an hour.

Wucai Beach is famous for its colors. The weathered stones form a bare surface with no grass. The beach is gently undulating and presents colors such as red, yellow, purple and white. There are fine gullies formed by rainwater in between, which really look like the bodies of some huge monsters lying by the Irtysh River drinking water.

Please calculate the time, this is to watch the sunset, and the sunset is very beautiful. If you miss the sunset here, the scenery will be greatly discounted if you come here during the day. Tickets must be paid in cash. We arrived at 10:30 pm, just in time to watch the sunset.

One of the most annoying things about coming here in the summer is that there are so many mosquitoes that you can't imagine. All the staff here wear mosquito repellent masks. Basically, from the moment you get off the car in the parking lot, there are thousands of mosquitoes surrounding you, drilling into your ears, eyes, and nostrils. If you open your mouth to talk, you may eat two mosquitoes. We stayed here for about 20-30 minutes and were basically in a state of complete collapse. The second I raised my phone to focus, my arms and the back of my hands were already full of mosquitoes.

I became one of the few tourists in this winter. Apart from the cold, I felt very noble. I was the only tourist in the whole scenic area. Wucai Beach belongs to the wind-eroded Danxia landform. The riverside land is colorful and looks very beautiful.

Wucai Beach is so deserted in winter that I am almost the tenth tourist who arrived at noon. The number of tourists is less than 20 people a day, which really makes me worry about the operating costs of Wucai Beach in winter. But even so, the ticket price here is 50 yuan, which is also a major reason why there are few people here. The wind is blowing here, and the Wucai Beach scenic area in winter is quite deserted. The lighthouse looks beautiful from a bird's eye view.

Wucaitan is located on the north bank of the Irtysh River. Due to the long-term impact of the river and the erosion of the strong wind, a unique Yadan landform has been formed. Because the rock layer contains different minerals, it presents colorful colors, hence the name. On the south bank across the river is an endless river valley plain, with lush green trees. I once visited Zhangye Qicai Danxia, nearly 2,000 kilometers away from here, on a rainy summer morning. Because the soil contains different levels of iron ions, the continuous and staggered Danxia landform is also covered with colorful colors. Compared with the beauty of Qicai Danxia, Wucaitan has a more desolate and magnificent beauty of a distant frontier. The vast Gobi Desert, the clear sky, and the lonely sun, how many people have shed tears.

In the vast land not far from Wucai Beach in the scenic area, rows of windmills turn with the wind, mottled trapezoidal earthen forts are scattered far and near, silent creatures solidify in the flow of time, dead trees continue to write the legend of "falling but not immortal" in weathering, and groups of camel thorns grow on their own, persistently guarding the myth of life for this vast wilderness.

Wucai Beach is famous for the colorful rocks on the shore. After all, the color difference is only due to the different minerals contained in the rocks, so don't expect it to be very bright.

Wucai Beach is more like an appetizer before a big meal. It is comfortable to enjoy, but not too amazing. It whets people's appetite. After all, the best is yet to come~

After leaving the Keketuohai Scenic Area, we had lunch on the way. The weather began to clear up. Guide Ma began to introduce the Yadan landform scenic area of Wucai Beach, and said that 0.5-1 hour before the sunset in the afternoon is the best time to take pictures of the Yadan landform. At this time, it is about 120 kilometers away from Wucai Beach, and the time is around 16:00, because the sunset time in Xinjiang is 20:30 in the evening. Although the bus speed is 40 kilometers per hour, it is enough time to get there 1 hour in advance. Everyone is in a good mood and looks forward to the beautiful scenery of Wucai Beach. Unexpectedly, when it is 50 kilometers away from Wucai Beach, the driver asked everyone in the car to get off halfway and wait, and drove to find a gas station for refueling (this car uses natural gas). This trip took more than 40 minutes. After getting on the bus and arriving at the scenic spot, Guide Ma bought tickets and distributed them to everyone. After we rushed into the scenic spot, the sun was almost setting. It can be said that "the sun sets in the west, and there is no afterglow on Wucai Beach". Everyone is regretful. Such a beautiful scenic spot, such good weather, but the driver delayed us. It really fits the second half of the sentence "xxxxx, everyone for one person"

If you are not there in person, it is hard to imagine that there is such a beautiful and spectacular Yadan landform hidden in the border area between the vast desert Gobi and the vast snow-capped mountains and grasslands.

It was already 9 pm Beijing time when we came out of Wucai Beach. The sun had not yet set. There were many tourist buses parked outside the scenic area. The hustle and bustle of tourists made us feel short of breath. We only breathed a sigh of relief when we got on the bus and left the scenic area!

Burqin is the only way to Kanas. You can choose to stay here for one night and go to Kanas the next day.

The Yadan landform needs sunshine to look good, especially at sunset. We arrived at Wucai Beach and prepared to wait for the sunset, but the clouds were too thick and we did not have a good-looking sunset.

The most disappointing thing about Wucai Beach is that many tourists (mostly adults) ignore the warning signs of the scenic area and leave the tourist trail to trample and climb the landforms without authorization, just like in Jiaohe Ancient City, many tourists ignore the warning signs and trample into the ruins area, but there are staff members in Jiaohe to stop them, but there are no staff members in Wucai Beach. Mosquitoes began to appear in the scenic area at sunset. It was the first time I saw the terrible mosquitoes in Xinjiang at Wucai Beach. They can penetrate two layers of clothes and cannot be driven away by fans. They must be killed, and there are so many mosquitoes.

The north bank is hard, the south bank is soft; the north bank is beautiful, the south bank is simple and elegant. Nature not only gives her a variety of shapes, but also gives her charming colors. Her heart seems to have an endless passion, beating with purple pulses, bursting with bright red magma, covering the river bank layer by layer, and competing with the ruthless water.

Looking west, you will find that the sky and the earth have changed colors again: the milky white, the shiny yellow, the matcha green, and the taro purple seem delicious. There are castles piled with sugar, pine cones with melted cheese, and embellishments of blackberry jam... If you hadn't suddenly found yourself in the Gobi Desert, you would probably have already drooled and gone forward to taste it.

The sunset painted her blush with a soft orange color, and the afterglow painted her eye shadow with golden eyeshadow. The wrinkles stretching all over the ground seemed like the layers of her skirt at a dinner party, shining with golden light under the candlelight. The corners of her lips were red and smiling under the black veil, which made everyone who saw her fall in love with her and fall at her feet.

It is still mainly earth yellow and brown. Under the setting sun, the colors become more diverse. The beach is beautiful, and in fact, the sky is also beautiful. The sky is high and the land is vast, and the sunset is particularly spectacular.

I always feel that the Irtysh River is a river with independent thinking. The terrain of my country, which is high in the west and low in the east, creates a situation where the river flows from west to east or southeast, but it is the only river in my country that flows northward into the Arctic Ocean. The Irtysh River passes through the Wucai Beach, giving the north and south banks two completely different styles. The south bank is an oasis, and the north bank is a colorful Yadan landform.

Driving all the way from Burqin County, there are huge white wind turbines lined up on both sides of the road, which look particularly majestic against the vast Gobi Desert!

The right bank of the enclosed Irtysh River has colorful Yadan landforms, and on the other side of the river is a dense poplar forest. There is a suspension bridge next to the scenic area. The staff of the scenic area said that it is only used for local herdsmen. If you can detour to the poplar forest on the other side of the river, the scenery should be amazing. It was five o'clock in the afternoon when I arrived at Wucai Beach. The sun was still malicious to my skin, and the wind was not very friendly to my little yellow hat. The scenic area was still crowded. If you are not in a hurry, you can watch the sunset at Wucai Beach, which should be quite amazing.

1. There are many mosquitoes in Wucai Beach Scenic Area, so be prepared to prevent mosquitoes when visiting.

2. Wucai Beach is best viewed at sunset. Please choose the right time to enter the scenic area based on the sunset time of the day. Generally, you can enter at around 7pm.

3. There are many people in the evening, so please pay attention to safety on the observation deck.

4. Recommended tour route: walk to the left when you enter the door, and look at the lighthouse from a close distance to see the terrain; when it is close to sunset, walk to the right side of the scenic area, find a three-story observation deck, and find a suitable angle to squat and wait for the sunset.

Wucaitan is a unique comprehensive landform. The history of Burqin Wucaitan Scenic Area. As early as the beginning of reform and opening up, a boss from Shenzhen who came to travel took a fancy to the wasteland of Burqin River Beach. He negotiated with the local government and paid 30 million yuan to buy the right to use it for 50 years. Because the local government was poor and backward, they immediately signed the contract when they saw someone offering 30 million yuan to buy a piece of wasteland where nothing can grow. After decades of transformation by the Shenzhen boss, Wucaitan is now a completely different place from the past. It has become another signature scenic spot in northern Xinjiang besides Kanas. From then on, money has flowed into the pocket of the Shenzhen boss. The local government regretted it but could do nothing about it...hahaha

I think the two viewing platforms with the signs of "No. 1 Beach in the World" and "Irtysh River" are in a better location. In addition, there are a lot of mosquitoes here, just like Bayinbuluke.
