The Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine is another name for the Tomb of Apak Khoja. It is located in Kokand Village, about 5 kilometers east of Kashgar City. It is the cemetery of Apak Khoja, the leader of the White Mountain Sect of Islam, and his family. Later, because of the legend that Emperor Qianlong's Fragrant Concubine was buried here, the name of the Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine gradually spread and replaced the original name. In fact, this is a group of tombs of 72 people from five generations of a large family. The Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine is just one of them. It covers an area of about 30 acres and was built around 1640 AD. It is a typical Islamic ancient tomb building.
The Xiangfei Tomb is like a magnificent palace, about 40 meters high, consisting of a gatehouse, a small mosque, a large mosque, a religious hall and the main tomb chamber. The buildings are magnificent and beautiful, and have a very strong Islamic style. This kind of house with green tiles and round arched doors and windows is very special, you can take a good look. The main tomb chamber is the most important building in the scenic area, and it is also the largest dome-style building in Xinjiang. There is also a beautiful Bunker building next to the dome. The four-story arch is matched with the five crescent moons held high by the iron pillars above. The shape is harmonious, making the whole building look particularly solemn and majestic. The surrounding walls are all covered with dark green glazed bricks from top to bottom, painted with colorful decorations and Arabic Quran aphorisms. These glazed bricks were fired more than 300 years ago, and they are still smooth and exquisite today. You can take a good look.
The tomb of Xiang Fei is located in the northeast corner of the park. Her name is written in Uyghur and Chinese in front of the tomb. The tomb is covered with blue glass bricks and covered with floral fabrics of various patterns, which shows respect for the deceased. On the left side of the mausoleum, there are two exquisite Islamic mosques of different sizes. According to legend, Xiang Fei was the favorite concubine of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. She had a strange fragrance since childhood and was called "Xiang Girl". Later, she died of illness in the capital due to acclimatization (some say she died of depression). There are various versions of legends about Xiang Fei before and after her death, which also adds to the mystery of this place. Visitors can learn about the legend of Xiang Fei in detail through text descriptions and tour guides.

The Xiangfei Tomb is a bit farther away than other attractions, and a taxi costs RMB 8. It is best to ask for a guide to learn about Xinjiang's burial customs. If you don't ask for a guide, you can only look at the Islamic architecture and Xiangfei's portrait like me, and then pretend to be someone else's guide.
A very typical Islamic style tomb. I have seen the Taj Mahal. The Xiangfei Tomb is a smaller version. The green outer wall is painted with paint, which feels as luxurious as colored glaze. It does not cover a large area. The ticket price is 15 yuan per person, and the ticket price is halved in the off-season. There are indeed not many tourists coming here, which is conducive to taking pictures.
Walking outside the Xiangfei Tomb, every time I come across such a building, I can’t help but think of the time when love really required strength, otherwise ordinary people would just be a small mound of earth.
The Xiangfei Tomb is the most mysterious Uyghur tomb building. Legend has it that the Xiangfei, the beloved concubine of Emperor Qianlong, was a Uyghur girl from Kashgar. After her death, the emperor allowed her family to transport her body back to the family tomb to be buried with her ancestors.
The exterior and interior of Xiangfei's Tomb are both unique to Uyghur architecture. The exterior walls are decorated with ancient glazed brick carvings with white background and blue flowers. The brick carvings are based on plants, including the tree of life, lotus, pomegranate, etc. The use of a large number of plant patterns to carve and decorate the building implies the immortality of the deceased and the eternity of life. The blue and white color scheme also gives people a sense of peace and tranquility.
Although the decorative bricks on the building's exterior have been eroded by wind and sun over time and are no longer as shiny as they used to be, the composition, arrangement, and color matching of the decorative patterns still reveal the Uighur people's unique aesthetic temperament and high level of appreciation.
This is a bit like a theme park based on the historical legend of "Fragrant Concubine". Except for the mausoleum, other places seem to be rebuilt, trying to let tourists feel the life of Fragrant Concubine in film and television works more intuitively. The appearance of the Fragrant Concubine's Tomb is the traditional Islamic architectural style, with green tiles and white walls, quiet and solemn. This is not entirely the tomb of Fragrant Concubine, but a family tomb of a missionary. The mausoleum preserves the coffins of many people. In addition to some newly built buildings and gardens, there is also a very targeted mosque site here - the Jiaman Mosque. Although the temple is old and no longer open to the public, the pattern carvings on the pillars and eaves can still show its past style, and the patterns on each pillar are different.
Xiangfei Garden is a popular tourist attraction specially built with the theme of "Xiangfei" culture. The scenic spot tells the legendary story of Xiangfei from birth to death, from Kashgar to Beijing, from Princess Xiangxiang to the beloved one in three aspects: hometown, former residence and old friends. It includes the typical Islamic ancient mausoleum building - Xiangfei Tomb, "Xiangfei's Home", Baoyue Tower, Xiangfei's Former Garden, Xiangfei's Butterfly Sculpture, etc. There are many ethnic minority song and dance performances arranged in the scenic spot every day, which are worth seeing.
The Xiangfei Garden scenic area tells the legendary story of Xiangfei from birth to death, from Kashgar to Beijing, from Princess Xiangxiang to the beloved one by thousands from three aspects: hometown, former residence and old friends. The biggest attraction here is actually two folk song and dance performances. If you only visit the garden, the ticket is 30 yuan, and if you want to watch the performance, the package ticket is 100 yuan.
There were several performances in the park. We watched "The Fragrant Concubine Welcoming Guests" at 12:30, which showed the story of the Fragrant Concubine entering the palace, and "The Folk Wedding Performance" at 13:00, which showed the characteristics of various ethnic groups in Xinjiang.
There is also the tomb of the Hezhuo family in the Xiangfei Garden. This is a typical Islamic ancient building complex and also the mausoleum of the descendants of the Islamic saints, covering an area of 2 hectares. The mausoleum was built in 1640 and contains 72 people from five generations of the same family.
It is very convenient to travel in Kashgar. Taxis stop by the roadside. The starting price is also very cheap. It only takes 12 yuan from the ancient city to Xiangfei Garden. Xiangfei Garden is located in Haohan Village, about 5 kilometers east of Kashgar City. The scenery inside is very beautiful, but there is a little shade and the ultraviolet rays are very strong. The ticket is 30 yuan, and 78 yuan if you want to watch the performance. If you have enough time, I personally recommend watching a play "Happy Xiangfei" to give yourself a deeper understanding of the legend of Xiangfei.
Xiang Fei, a legendary concubine from Xinjiang, is well-known because of the TV series "My Fair Princess". Otherwise, no one would know her because she was a concubine of the emperor. After all, it was a political marriage. Come, let's take a look at the introduction of this legendary woman:
The historical prototype of the Fragrant Concubine was called Rongfei Hezhuo, or Huozhuo, with the name Fatima, also translated as Batma (the book "Qing Palace Concubines" says her real name is Maimur Aizimu, but there is no verification). The Hui people called her "Iparhan" (meaning "Fragrant Concubine"), a Uyghur, the daughter of Hui Taiji and Zhalai (Ali Hezhuo, also translated as Aili Hezhuo), the sister of Fuguogong Turdu (Hashan Hezhuo), and the prototype of the legendary Fragrant Concubine. She was born on September 15, the 12th year of Yongzheng's reign, and on February 4, the 25th year of Qianlong's reign, she was named He Guiren; on May 21, the 27th year of Qianlong's reign, she was named Rongpin; on October 26, the 33rd year of Qianlong's reign, she was named Rongfei; on April 19, the 53rd year of Qianlong's reign, she died; on September 25, the 53rd year of Qianlong's reign, she was buried in the Yuling Concubine Mausoleum.
A must-see folk culture scenic spot in Kashgar, it is well arranged, with performances and scenery. The Xiangfei Tomb is very beautifully built, and there is a large mosque next to it. Overall, you can still know many stories about the legendary Xiangfei.
The park is very well built, with high architectural restoration, bright colors, and warm reception;
First there was a professional Uyghur dance performance of Fragrant Concubine welcoming guests, then there was an interactive performance of Uyghur wedding customs with explanations throughout, and finally there was a free tour. The Fragrant Concubine was restored very magnificently and the visit to the entire park was well worth it.
All the landscapes in the Xiangfei Garden, except for the Tomb of Apakh Khoja and the Jaman Mosque, are newly built, so the routines are all similar, with some performances and some artificial landscapes, but there is not much to see.
This place was originally used as the family cemetery of the Islamic saint Apak Khoja. The first generation buried here was the famous Islamic missionary Yusup Khoja. After his death, his eldest son Apak Khoja inherited his father's missionary career and became a famous master of the "Yichan School" of Kashgar Islam in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. He once seized the power of the Yarkand Dynasty and was a representative of the old system of theocracy in Xinjiang. Therefore, when he died in 1693 and was buried here, people began to call this place "Apak Khoja's Tomb". It is said that there are 72 people from five generations buried in the tomb, but in fact there are only 58 tombs of different sizes.
The main tomb chamber (Mazar, meaning "place of worship") is the most important building in the scenic area and the largest dome-style building in Xinjiang. The main dome is 26.5 meters high and 16 meters in diameter. Its bottom is supported by four pointed arches. Four bunkers are symmetrically arranged at the four corners. It is a typical example of the influence of the mausoleum practices in Iran. The shape is simple and magnificent. The walls are all covered with dark green glazed bricks from top to bottom, with colorful decorations and Arabic Quranic aphorisms painted on them. It is said that these glazed bricks were fired more than 300 years ago, and they are still smooth and exquisite today. The scenery is not bad when viewed from a distance.
Turn right after exiting the tomb chamber, and you will find the Jaman Mosque, which was built in 1873. It is a three-courtyard building with a prayer hall consisting of a nearly 100-meter-long corridor and an apses. Although you cannot enter, the most attractive thing is the 62 wooden pillars under the hall, which were carefully carved by 62 skilled craftsmen. None of the wooden carvings and painted patterns are the same, which can be called the essence of Uyghur wood carving art.
The year 1873 was already a turbulent year for Xinjiang. Yakub Beg and Russia jointly invaded and occupied large tracts of Xinjiang territory. Under such circumstances, it was indeed rare that the Jaman Mosque still retained a large number of Han elements.
If you have enough time, you can visit the Xiangfei Garden. Otherwise, it is not recommended.
The ticket to Xiangfei Garden is too expensive, 120 yuan per person, and there are promotional advertisements for Xiangfei Garden everywhere in the old city of Kashgar.
Because the ticket cost 120 yuan, plus the singing and dancing performance fee reached 190 yuan, I didn't go into the park. It's simply a robbery!
The Xiangfei Garden is actually a series of Xiangfei-related theme buildings built on the basis of Xiangfei's tomb, which was expanded into Xiangfei Garden. There are many performances in the garden every day. There are buildings of the same scale as Xiangfei's former residence in Xiangfei Garden. The whole Xiangfei Garden tells the legendary story of Xiangfei from birth to death, from Kashgar to Beijing, from a noble princess to the most beloved person in the world from three aspects: hometown, former residence, and former friends. The Xiangfei Tomb is not the tomb of Xiangfei alone, but the tomb of Xiangfei's family. Although Xiangfei was of noble status, her coffin was also in a corner of the main room, with her father and brothers in the middle.
The Xiangfei Garden is a large scenic area with a small theater for performances, a group sculpture of Emperor Qianlong marrying Xiangfei, and the tombs of Xiangfei's family, including Xiangfei's tomb. There is also "Xiangfei's home" which is all wax figures. There is a museum, a large square, etc. In short, there are many things to see and do.
The main chamber of his family mausoleum is the most exquisite one. The outer walls are covered with green, blue and yellow glazed bricks. The chamber contains tombs of several generations, large and small. Their tombs are a bit like larger seals. In addition, the entire cemetery also has the tomb of the steward and so on. Later, because of the Fragrant Concubine Iparhan, everyone now calls this place the Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine.
The Tomb of Fragrant Concubine, 5 kilometers away from the old city, is the burial place of Apakh Khoja, the leader of the White Mountain Sect of Islam, and his family. In fact, she is not the same person as the Fragrant Concubine in My Fair Princess.
Xiangfei Garden is located in the eastern suburbs of Kashgar. Let's stop by here to have a look. There is a parking lot next to the visitor center. The whole scenic area is well maintained. The ticket is 30 yuan per person, plus 100 yuan for the tour guide. The buildings are quite exotic, as if you are in a foreign country. The scenic area is not big, and the whole tour takes 1 hour.
The environment inside is good, you can watch while walking, and there are also performances. The price-performance ratio is still good.
Ticket price is 198 yuan, bundled sale. The worst value for money attraction I've ever been to, please keep your eyes open before going.
It is a modern building, but the mosque inside is from the old days.
The building is very beautiful with a strong ethnic style.
When you come to Kashgar, you can visit the Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine, which is less than ten minutes away from the old city.
This is where Xiang Fei was buried. It doesn't feel too scary because there are many tourists. The building is beautiful and worth a visit.
Since we usually talk casually and laugh loudly, we were warned not to speak loudly, which was rude...ah,,,,ah,,,
To be honest, I just looked at it at the door, and the ticket price was not worth it. After all, it is someone else's cemetery. Legend has it that it is the Xiangfei in Huanzhu Gege. I don't know whether it is true or not, but the color of the Xiangfei's tomb is still very beautiful.
Because it was too early, the Xiangfei Tomb had not yet opened, and the doors to the pedestrian commercial street outside were closed. Only colorful flags fluttered in the cool morning breeze.
Going outside, a park is being built on the southeast side of Xiangfei's tomb. I found a gap, went in, and caught a glimpse of Xiangfei's tomb from afar.
You can take a taxi from the city. The scenic area is not big and has cultural attractions.

The mausoleum is exquisite and magnificent, with tall brick columns and door walls on both sides, inlaid with blue-bottomed white sulfur glass bricks. It is magnificent and solemn. Standing in front of the crystal-clear and elegant gatehouse, you can experience the breath of history, legends and historical materials as you wish.
A place you can go or not. The angles of the photos taken are similar to those uploaded online, because there is a sign for the best photo location. ( ̄▽ ̄)"
In fact, the overall area of the cemetery is not large. Photography is not allowed inside the tombs. They are all cenotaphs. It is said that Xiang Fei was buried in Hebei. This mausoleum is a typical Islamic palace-style mausoleum building, with blue-bottomed white sulfur glass bricks on the outside, which looks grand and exquisite, and quite exotic.
Although it is not big, the building has a Central Asian style and is worth a visit.
Photography is prohibited in the tomb. The patterns on the door of the main tomb are super beautiful. There is also an old car in a corner of the room. It is said that it was the car that her sister-in-law Su Daixiang used to transport Xiang Fei's body back to her hometown.
To get to the Xiangfei Tomb, you must first cross Xiangfei Street. It is best to take photos alone at the entrance to the Xiangfei Tomb. Photos are not allowed inside the Xiangfei Tomb.
The Xiangfei Tomb Cemetery consists of five parts: the gatehouse, the small mosque, the large mosque, the lecture hall and the main tomb chamber. It is a cemetery for a family rather than an individual, with different customs. If you take a taxi from the east of the Kashgar Old City Scenic Area, you will pass by the Central and West Asian International Trade Market.
In fact, the Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine is another name for the Tomb of Apak Khoja. It is the cemetery of Apak Khoja, the leader of the White Mountain sect of Islam, and his family. The Fragrant Concubine is Apak Khoja's granddaughter Ipar Khan. The cemetery was built around 1640 AD, more than 350 years ago. It is a typical ancient Islamic mausoleum building. Later, because of the legend that Emperor Qianlong's Fragrant Concubine was buried here, the name of the Fragrant Concubine Tomb gradually spread and replaced the original name. The Fragrant Concubine Tomb Cemetery consists of five parts: the gatehouse, the small mosque, the big mosque, the lecture hall and the main tomb chamber.
The temperature in Kashgar was still a little hot at noon, but when I entered the mausoleum where Xiang Fei was buried, my back suddenly felt cold. There was more than one mausoleum of Xiang Fei inside, and there were more than a dozen. It felt very gloomy. I have been very sensitive to topics like ghost stories and mausoleums since I was a child. I came out after staying there for less than a minute. It felt very gloomy and it was not suitable for a strong-willed person like me to stay there.
At the entrance of the Xiangfei Tomb, the walls of the gate are inlaid with exquisite tiles, with a strong Arabic flavor. The blurred and incomplete Arabic characters above reveal an ancient atmosphere. If you look closely, you can see that the Buddhist swastika is hidden on each wall tile. The courtyard pillars are very Islamic in style, and each pillar has a different decoration.
Be sure to ask the tour guide to explain, be sure to ask the tour guide to explain, be sure to ask the tour guide to explain, it is important to say it three times😄
Although it is called the Tomb of Xiang Fei, it is actually a family cemetery, and Xiang Fei is only the most well-known member. Her status in the family is not high. On the contrary, as a famous political and religious leader in Kashgar at that time, her clansmen had a much higher status than her.
The exterior of the Xiangfei Tomb is very Islamic, and the toilets inside are quite luxurious to be honest. It is next to a very large square.
Because our driver was an expert on southern Xinjiang, we were lucky enough to come to Wuqia County, more than 200 kilometers away from Kashgar city, and see the spectacular scenery of this untouched pristine Red River Valley.
The off-road vehicle drove on the rugged road for three hours. The experienced driver took the wrong road several times. After searching for a long time, he finally arrived at this group of rocks with a radius of several kilometers and a main color of red. Some looked like dinosaur spines, some like Shoushan stones, some like birds, and some like beacon towers. There was no one living here, so the companions named this place: Chiyan Ridge, which means the fiery red mountain that looks like a spine!
When we first arrived, it was hailing and raining. A few of us enthusiasts couldn't help but get off the car to take pictures. About an hour later, the sky cleared up. After the rain, the color contrast of the land and rocks became even more beautiful. The sunlight shining on the red rock group was as spectacular as a warship setting sail. The driver said that this is the uniqueness of the Pamir Plateau. The climate in a day can change so much. Presumably, this is why the various customs of the vast land of Xinjiang have been created.
When it comes to the palette, nature also exaggerates and dresses itself in colorful wedding clothes, which is absolutely beautiful. The National Geographic-level beautiful landscapes here are vivid and colorful. Although it is not easy to reach these places, they are definitely worth going!
It is not easy to travel on the steep hillside, especially after a heavy rain, the road is muddy and slippery, but if you want to see the full spectacle, you must stand in the right position~
In fact, the tomb of Xiang Fei is in Hebei. This is just a tomb of clothes and hats. It is still worth a visit. The building is quite beautiful.
Yes, it is the Fragrant Concubine in My Fair Princess, but this is just her cenotaph. Those buried here are all members of her family.
You can hire a tour guide to visit the Xiangfei Tomb and learn more. Before arriving at the Xiangfei Tomb scenic area, you will pass a long street selling various souvenirs and handicrafts. The outer wall of the tomb is covered with colored glazed bricks. Such beautiful bricks, but unfortunately the firing technology has been lost. Respecting the deceased, taking pictures is not allowed in the tomb. In fact, the coffin will be scary when taken. The top of the tomb is round. When you enter the tomb, you will see a large arch with a diameter of nearly 20 meters. There are no beams and columns, which shows the construction technology of more than 300 years ago. The coffin we see now does not have the body. The coffin that actually holds the body is buried in the ground corresponding to the coffin seen on the ground. There is a carriage at the door of the tomb, which was used to transport the Xiangfei's body at that time.
The Xiangfei Tomb Scenic Area includes a mausoleum, which is a family tomb, and two mosques. It is not large but colorful. The mausoleum is rarely visited, and the Islamic funeral method is different from that of the Han people. If you are curious, you may visit it, but remember that taking photos is prohibited inside.
There are many complicated legends about the tomb of Xiangfei. As to whether Xiangfei is really here, no one knows and there is no way to guess. Too many legends make people confused. We don’t need to know the truth. If we close our eyes and meditate, we can see the Xiangfei who once fascinated Emperor Qianlong dancing in the air.
Cars are not allowed to go inside from the parking lot. There is a commercial street along the way where you can stroll slowly to the Xiangfei Tomb. It takes about ten minutes to walk. If you don’t want to walk, there are small cars such as tricycles that you can hail. It costs one yuan per person.
There were no tourists at the entrance. Compared with the crowded scenic spots in the mainland, it was like heaven and hell.
The Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine is also one of the must-see attractions when visiting Kashgar. There are still very few people there. After all, Kashgar is too far away and tourists are still very scarce.
The ticket checking staff at the door were sitting leisurely under the parasols and chatting.
The Xiangfei Tomb is not very big, and a small circle of more than half an hour is enough. We wandered around inside for an hour before we came out. We took a small tricycle directly to the parking lot. It was one yuan per person, which couldn't be cheaper. The Uyghur people were so welcoming.
Apak Hoja Tomb or Xiang Fei's Tomb. However, the story of Xiang Fei's burial was eventually confirmed to be somewhere else, which only adds a legendary color to this place. There are more than 50 coffins of various sizes placed inside the building, all of which belong to this man named Apak Hoja and his people, who are probably related to Xiang Fei in some complicated way. Fortunately, the building itself is quite exquisite, which slightly makes up for the regret of not being able to go to the cattle and sheep bazaar.
The Xiangfei Tomb, along with the lecture hall and chapel next to it, is large but bare. The tiles on the main building's exterior are mostly mottled green in shades of dark and light, and the dome looks like an inverted lotus pod. It's cool and dry inside, with rectangular coffins of different sizes, each with a different design and distinct layers. But you can't tell the directions in the hall, and the Islamic architectural routines learned in art history don't make sense.
You can only take a taxi outside, and it takes about ten minutes to walk in. If you feel too hot, you can take a small tricycle outside to go in. There is mainly a mosque and a family tomb inside.
On the way to the Xiangfei Tomb, we met a few tourists. When we asked them about the situation, they told us that they had a "so-so" impression of the place. We searched a lot of information about the Xiangfei Tomb on the Internet. When we arrived at the entrance, we did not go in, but found a place outside to take pictures.
From a distance, the Xiangfei Tomb looks like a magnificent palace with magnificent architecture. From a closer look, it has a strong Islamic style, with dark green glazed bricks all around, painted with colorful patterns and Arabic Quranic aphorisms, which sparkle in the sun, adding a solemn and sacred feeling.
Passing the Xiangfei Pedestrian Street, we saw the final resting place of Xiangfei, a beauty from the Western Regions. It turns out that the cemetery of the Uyghur people is not open-air, but a family tomb built like a hall. Xiangfei did not have a high status in the family, but her pig was covered with yellow satin. Surprisingly, there are many rows of simple tombs next to Xiangfei's family tomb. It is said that they were the servants who escorted Xiangfei Lingjiu to Kashgar. These people accompanied Xiangfei until she died and were buried next to Xiangfei's tomb.
Apakh Khoja Tomb, also known as Fragrant Concubine Tomb, is located in Kokand Village, 5 kilometers northeast of Kashgar City. It was built around 1640 AD, nearly 400 years ago. It is a typical ancient Islamic mausoleum building. It is now a national key cultural relic protection unit. The owner of the Fragrant Concubine Tomb is Apakh Khoja, the king of Kashgar's "Khoja regime", the leader of the Baishan faction, and 72 people from five generations of his family. According to legend, the "Fragrant Concubine" of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty is also buried in the tomb. It is said that after the death of Fragrant Concubine, her body was transported back to her hometown and buried in the Apakh Khoja Tomb. There is still a camel sedan in the main tomb chamber, which is said to have been brought from Beijing when the body was transported. This is the gate of the Fragrant Concubine Tomb. The entire cemetery covers an area of about 72 acres. The main gate faces south. After entering the gate is a huge rectangular courtyard, which consists of a gatehouse, high and low mosques, the Jiaman mosque, a lecture hall, the main tomb chamber and an orchard.
The main tomb chamber is located in the eastern part of the cemetery. It is the main building of the complex. It has a magnificent shape and a solemn and gorgeous style. It is the crown of the entire complex and is also the most grand and exquisite mausoleum in Xinjiang.
Because of a beautiful woman - Xiang Fei
The famous Mazar
It is best to hire a tour guide when visiting the Xiangfei Tomb, so that you can learn more about the history and architecture here!
The Tomb of Fragrant Concubine is actually the common name of the tomb of the Apak Hoja family. From the perspective of secular propaganda (the Fragrant Concubine is famous because of the Qing Dynasty palace drama), it is called the Tomb of Fragrant Concubine. This is a collective tomb of a prominent Islamic family. Fragrant Concubine is just a very inconspicuous role in it. It is a typical Islamic palace-style mausoleum building. The mausoleum buries dozens of coffins and tombs covered with white-bottomed orchid glass tiles from the same family. The first generation was the Islamic missionary Aji. Maihemaiti. Yusup Hoja. After his death, his eldest son Apak Hoja inherited his mantle and continued to preach. He became the leader of the White Mountain School of Islam in the 17th century. After his death, it was changed to Apak Hoja's Tomb. Fragrant Concubine is Apak Hoja's granddaughter.
Behind the mausoleum, there is a large Islamic cemetery. Compared with the coffins and tombs covered with white orchid glass tiles placed in the palace-style building of Xiangfei's tomb, the coffins and tombs in that cemetery are all made of loess and placed in the open air. The sharp contrast can further show the prominence of this family.
A special reminder: this is a cemetery, and the scenic spot also has requirements to respect the deceased. You can take pictures of the buildings, but don't take pictures of the coffins and tombs! Therefore, I only described this paragraph in words and did not take any photos.
By visiting the Xiangfei Tomb, you can understand the characteristics of Islamic tombs. Its architecture fully reflects the identity and status of its owner. The most classic example in this regard is probably the Taj Mahal in India.
Next to the Xiangfei Tomb is the Lecture Hall (where Yusup Khoja gave lectures) and the Jaman Mosque (said to be the second largest mosque in Kashgar).
The entire scenic area includes the gatehouse, small mosque, large mosque, lecture hall and main tomb chamber. The outer walls and ceiling of the main tomb chamber are all covered with green glazed bricks and patterned yellow or blue tiles, which look particularly magnificent and solemn. The mausoleum hall is tall and spacious, with tombs arranged on the platform. The tombs are made of white-bottomed orchid glazed bricks, which are crystal clear and pure.
The 65 wooden columns in the lecture hall were all hand-carved by Uyghur artists at the time, and each one is different, reflecting the highest level of local craftsmanship. The sunlight shines into the Book of Songs Hall, which shows a sense of age, but the scene of people sitting around and giving lectures is difficult to reproduce.
There are many mulberry trees in the scenic area, full of green or white mulberries. The white ones are the sweetest and are sold in fruit shops on the street. They are different from the black mulberries in the mainland. There is a huge square outside the scenic area, where you can overlook the snow-capped mountains, but it is not very popular.
The ticket price seems to be 30, and there is also a mosque inside.
The people are beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, the mood is beautiful, everything is so good!
The Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine is located in Haohan Village on the eastern outskirts of Kashgar City. It only costs about ten yuan to take a taxi from the city. Taxis cannot drive directly to the entrance of the scenic spot. You can walk a few hundred meters or take a small tricycle. Speaking of the Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine, I guess many people should be like me. The first thing that comes to mind is the Fragrant Concubine in the popular childhood drama "My Fair Princess" who can attract butterflies with her dancing. Yes, this Fragrant Concubine is the same Fragrant Concubine~ However, according to research, the Fragrant Concubine was not buried here. Her exact burial place is in the Yufei Mausoleum in the Eastern Qing Tombs in Zunhua, Hebei. The Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine is like a magnificent palace. The outer walls and the top of the main tomb are all covered with green glazed bricks, and the patterned yellow or blue tiles are particularly magnificent. Don't think that these tiles are just brightly colored. Each color has its own meaning. Green symbolizes nature and rebirth, and blue represents the sky. If it weren't for the bad weather that day, this place wouldn't look so shabby. The interior of the mausoleum naturally did not have much appeal to me. I was completely attracted by the decoration of the buildings here. The patterns on each wall here are different and all very beautiful!
Around Kashgar, in the Pamir Plateau, Tashkurgan County, Baoche service, beautiful price and good service!
This attraction is a bit disappointing. It is enough to just look at it from a distance. Haha
She married to Emperor Qianlong in Beijing and became his concubine. After his death, she moved back to her hometown.
The ticket to the Xiang Fei Tomb is 30 yuan, which is a bit of a rip-off, and it is quite far away. Basically, you can only see the exterior, the family mausoleum, and the garden. I walked around and got a tour guide before leaving.
Friends have repeatedly said that among the few tourist spots in Kashgar, the Tomb of the Fragrant Concubine is a must-see. It has strong ethnic characteristics and is worth a visit.
It's a small place, the entrance is at a relatively remote intersection. This place is not suitable for taking pictures, only for those who like humanities~
The buildings are beautiful, very Xinjiang-style, and have a good cultural heritage.
The tombs here are all built with glazed bricks with white background and blue flowers, which look crystal clear and elegant. The bricks are colorful and rich, and the biggest highlight is this complete mausoleum. I was really amazed when I first arrived.
A place to learn about Islamic architecture, the structure of the entire building is very beautiful!
Compared to Id Kah, I am more interested in the "Fragrant Concubine's Tomb" located in the suburbs. When I was a child, I really thought that the only goddess in "My Fair Princess" was the Fragrant Concubine. The scene where she danced with butterflies was "this is what a fairy lady looks like!"
I arrived at 8pm and the ticket seller at the gate had all gone off work... I was scammed by China-TravelNote again o(╥﹏╥)o
It was a real letdown. We ran into three Uyghur uncles. They comforted us and told us to come earlier next time. Then I praised the guy in the robe for being handsome, and he happily said he wanted to take a photo with me. Then the other two uncles automatically moved to the left and right ╰(*°▽°*)╯ Hahaha, are all Uyghur uncles so cute? !
Subsequent experience has taught me that the answer is yes.
Tomb of Apakh Khoja (Tomb of Xiang Fei)
The Xiangfei Tomb, which was built in 1640, is actually a family mausoleum of the Islamic "Khoja" (descendants of saints). Together with the tomb owner Apak and his family, a total of 72 people from five generations are buried here. Because one of the Hojas buried here is the Xiangfei of Emperor Qianlong, who is relatively well known to us, tourists often call this place the Xiangfei Tomb.
(According to research, the Xiang Fei Tomb here should only be the tomb of Xiang Fei's clothes and hats)
The Xiangfei Tomb is a typical ancient Islamic building complex. It is said that the Xiangfei, the beloved concubine of Emperor Qianlong, was buried here, hence the name. I personally think that this attraction is not for sightseeing or entertainment, but it is for viewing. After all, many people do not understand or have seen Islamic architecture. August to September is the best time to visit this attraction.
The reference guide gave low ratings, and I felt that visiting other people's tombs was disrespectful to the deceased, so I didn't go in. The ethnic custom here is that the body of a woman returns to her parents' home after death. Xiang Fei died in Beijing at the age of 55. At that time, it took 3 years from Beijing to Kashgar, so it is unknown how the body was preserved.
Yes, this is the tomb of the "Fragrant Concubine", the concubine of Emperor Qianlong in the popular TV series "My Fair Princess". It is said that there was a real person in history who had a strange fragrance since childhood and was called "Iparhan" (Fragrant Girl). She was chosen by the Qing Emperor as a concubine and given the title "Fragrant Concubine". She died of illness due to not adapting to the climate and soil in Beijing. It took 124 people to carry the coffin back to her hometown for three years and buried it in the Apak Khoja Tomb. There is still a camel sedan in the main tomb, which is said to have been brought from Beijing when the corpse was transported. But the specific facts are unknown.
From the outside, the Xiang Fei's tomb looks like a magnificent palace. The outer walls and ceiling of the tomb are all covered with green glazed bricks and patterned yellow or blue tiles, making it look particularly magnificent and solemn.
The Xiangfei Tomb is actually the Apak Khoja Tomb, the largest and most influential Islamic Khoja (descendants of saints) mausoleum in Xinjiang. Buried in the tomb are Mamtim Yusup Khoja, a famous Islamic missionary in the Ming and Qing dynasties, the king of the Khoja regime in Kashgar, and Apak Khoja, the leader of the White Mountain Sect, and 72 people from five generations of his family.
Kashgar is really cute and small. You can take the bus directly to anywhere, and taxis are not expensive, usually within 10 yuan.
I also took a bus from the city, which only cost 2 yuan. It was convenient, worry-free and economical. However, the entrance to the Xiangfei Tomb was still several hundred meters away.
Qianlong is okay, this life is worth it, I can only sigh at the money.
Generally speaking, it is just a group of cemeteries, which means little without explanation.
PS: After explaining the purpose of the visit, I recorded and filmed the event with permission.
