Introduction to the Scenic Area Jiaozi Mountain is a national nature reserve, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, the first national tourist destination ecological origin certification scenic spot, and a national sports tourism boutique scenic spot. It is also China's lowest latitude, the closest to the provincial capital, with a distinct three-dimensional climate, rich biodiversity, and a highly ornamental and representative high-altitude seasonal snow mountain. It is named because the highest peak is shaped like a sedan chair. Jiaozi Mountain is the remnant of Gongwang Mountain in the Wumeng Mountain System. The main peak is about 4,223 meters above sea level, and the relative height difference is about 2,623 meters. The scenic area has steep and majestic peaks, dotted waterfalls, clear and mysterious lakes, exotic flowers and trees complement each other, and rare birds and animals appear from time to time. It has a three-dimensional climate of cold, temperate and tropical zones, presenting a unique landscape of "one mountain with four seasons and different scenery in four seasons". "Watching snow in winter, ice in spring, flowers in summer, and swimming in the water in autumn" is a major feature of Jiaozi Mountain. Strange peaks, beautiful water, ice and snow, rhododendrons, sea of clouds, sunrise, and Buddha's light are known as the "seven wonders" of Jiaozi Mountain. It is an unspoiled paradise for adventure and exploration, blending majestic grandeur with beautiful scenery.

Arriving at sunset, the blue sky and snow can be a good match. We arrived early the next day, but we still had to queue for half an hour for the cable car. We took the cable car at 9:30 in the morning. After getting off the cable car, it showed that we were 2380m away from the top of the sedan. We went straight to the top of the sedan and arrived at 12:00. I have walked through the "One Line Sky" that makes people dread twice. It is suitable for a one-day tour. The scenery is infinitely good after passing the One Line Sky. It looks very straight when viewed from a distance. Sitting on the cable car and watching the cable car is also a different scenery. I like this cold tone. It feels a bit like winter. It looks like a sketch. The mountains in the distance are very clean and blue. Only the sedan snow mountain under my feet is covered with white. Many people skate in the Jinguitang of the scenic area, of course, naked ice skating. The scenic area is large enough, and you can take whatever you want. But the wind is stronger as you climb up. In addition, there is a mountain store in the scenic area, and fried potatoes and instant noodles are 15 yuan each. We waited in line for another half an hour for the cable car to go down the mountain. There was no queue for the shuttle bus, and it was already 4 pm when the shuttle bus arrived at the tourist service center.
tips:
1. In fact, the temperature on the mountain is not low in summer. It will still be hot when climbing the mountain, so it is enough to bring a coat.
2. You can buy tickets online in advance and scan the QR code to enter. It is recommended to save the QR code in advance, because the signal of the scenic spot is intermittent, and it will be bad to delay the ticket inspection.
3. It is inconvenient to eat and drink in the scenic area, so it is best to bring enough food with you.
4. Make plans in advance. The cable car queue is the most time-consuming. Since the cable car can only accommodate 2 people at a time (parents and children can be relaxed to 3 people), you have to queue up every time you take the cable car, especially on weekends, which can be as short as half an hour or as long as several hours. Sometimes you also have to queue up for the scenic area shuttle bus. Otherwise, a lot of time will be wasted in queuing.
It is impossible to climb on top of the sedan chair on a round trip from Kunming on the same day.
Regarding the route, I think it's the same on snowy days except for the icefall. The lake is frozen and you can go any route. I've walked every route on snowy days. In other seasons, the scenery is different and you can choose what you need. There's nothing to see in the azalea forest if it's not in bloom.
I went to Jiaozi Snow Mountain this winter and signed up for a one-day tour. My first impression was that the winding mountain road in Yunnan is absolutely amazing. All the drivers are experienced drivers. When we got to the foot of the mountain, the tour guide took us to get the tickets, and then we took the shuttle bus to take the cable car up the mountain. We could choose to walk up or take the cable car according to our physical strength, because the queue for the cable car would take at least an hour and a half.
If you have good physical strength, you must climb higher. The scenery above is really beautiful. As a local, you don’t need an oxygen cylinder. If you are not physically strong, you can buy an oxygen cylinder as a backup.
We went there on the 8th and 9th. It was rainy and foggy. We were soaked, but it was still beautiful. For me, a northerner, it should be more beautiful in summer than in winter. I am not interested in snow scenery. In addition, Jiaozi Snow Mountain is not the highest peak in central Yunnan. The introduction is wrong. Xueling Huofeng, which is also in the Gongwang Mountain Range, is the highest peak in central Yunnan. It is more than 4,300 meters above sea level. Mazongling is also higher than Jiaozi Snow Mountain. Jiaozi Snow Mountain is actually the third highest. In addition, the distance between the scenic spots written on the signboard on the mountain is not accurate.
You can see Jiaozi Snow Mountain when you fly from Kunming to Zhaotong.
In 2018, Jiaozi Snow Mountain has started snow-playing mode. It has snowed twice. It is quite beautiful. You don’t have to go to Dali or Lijiang. You can enjoy the snow scenery in Kunming.
It was still snowless at the end of November, and the scenery was very ordinary. I was exhausted from climbing the mountain, and I only saw a small pond when I got to the top. There was no expressway back to Kunming, and the road was not easy to drive. I was fooled. I suggest you ask if there is snow before going up the mountain, otherwise it will be a waste of time.
Jiaozi Snow Mountain is 4223 meters above sea level. It is a snowy mountain in winter. You can enjoy azaleas in May and June, and ice waterfalls in winter!
The first snow mountain in central Yunnan has beautiful scenery all year round and is at a relatively high altitude, so it is definitely worth a visit.
If you don't have kids, you can choose to walk or take the cable car, which is also quite fun. It takes an hour from Zhuanlong Town.
The air is very fresh, and the plateau snow-capped mountains are magnificent. The overall feeling is good, and the snow scenery is very beautiful. Jiaozi Mountain is the lowest latitude snow-covered mountain in Yunnan in winter, with unique natural landscapes. Every spring, dozens of rhododendrons bloom in the mountains.
The recommended time to visit Jiaozi Snow Mountain is two days. Self-driving is not recommended because you have to climb the mountain, which will make the driver too tired. If you go by yourself, you can take a bus to the two villages near Jiaozi Snow Mountain to stay. You can find accommodation on Meituan, and then eat some local specialties. But for those like me who don’t have time and money to travel on a budget, you can join a tour group. At that time, the two of us spent 379 yuan on the tour group, which was quite cost-effective. ✌✌✌ If you join a tour group, the journey is longer, but in order to see the snow and play in the snow~ (just go😏)
"Spring ice, summer flowers, autumn water, winter snow" are the four seasons of Jiaozi Snow Mountain, and this season is when the azaleas are in full bloom. Every spring and summer, the azaleas are in full bloom. Looking around, the mountains and plains are full of a sea of flowers, and the azaleas of various colors are competing for beauty.
Jiaozi Snow Mountain is located outside the city of Kunming - Luquan. If you drive by yourself, it will take about 3-4 hours. The journey is a little long, but the scenery you see there will definitely not make you lose money. The natural scenery on Jiaozi Snow Mountain without snow is also very beautiful, and the air is fresh, but climbing the mountain is a bit tiring. Jiaozi Snow Mountain is even more beautiful after snow. The snow season of Jiaozi Snow Mountain is about November to March every year. When it snows, you must pay attention to keep warm and prevent slipping, because the snow is really heavy. Tickets for Jiaozi Snow Mountain can be purchased online. Buy a package: ticket + round-trip cableway ticket, more than 100 yuan per person. You can buy it on platforms such as Ctrip and Qunar.
When you come to Jiaozi Snow Mountain, you can also see the "sea of flowers". In April, when the flowers on earth are gone, the azaleas on the snow mountain bloom one after another. In spring and summer, azaleas are everywhere, blooming everywhere, and the mountain flowers are in full bloom, one by one, dancing with the mountain breeze, dazzling you, making you breathless with excitement, making you happy to sing, or accidentally falling into the sea of flowers or getting lost because of being intoxicated by watching.
I withstood the severe cold, went through the fog, experienced hail, got wet for the first time, and finally had a clear sky! I also took some photos that I was slightly satisfied with. The only regret is that I didn’t see snow! The spirit of accepting what you experience is a precious wealth in life…
There is no direct bus from Kunming to Jiaozi Snow Mountain Scenic Area. Locals told me that it may not be available even in the peak season, so I can only book a bus from Kunming to Zhuanlong online. It costs about 30 yuan and the journey takes about 3 hours. When I got off the bus, I saw Master Deng. I could charter a car (150 yuan) to go up, or share a car (depending on the number of people, usually about 40 yuan). It is 40 kilometers and about an hour's drive. Master Deng is very nice. He knows that I am traveling alone and there is no direct bus down the mountain (before the trip, I read other travel notes saying that the scenic area has a bus directly to Kunming, but it has actually stopped operating long ago). He suggested that I find a self-driving tourist to take a ride down the mountain, or he could take me back to Zhuanlong Town if he happened to be coming up.
I booked Jiaozi Villa for two nights online. The price was very expensive even in the off-season, 900 for two nights. In fact, if it is not the peak season (late November to February), it is recommended to go to the stalls next to the entrance of the scenic spot to find a place. Those aunt bosses all run homestays, which are about 100 per night, with air conditioning, and can pick up and drop off at the scenic spot. The service is very good. This is also what the local tour guide I met later told me.
I was lucky because the weather was getting hot. I knew the snow had melted before I came, and the weather forecast said there would be light rain showers. But this morning, there was snow on the snowy mountain! I took the 8:40 bus to Xiapingzi, and then walked up to take the cable car. Other tourists were still taking pictures slowly. While the snow was still there, my tour guide Xiao Ai took me directly to the top of the mountain. When we got to the bottom of the mountain, I asked her to rest, and I climbed up slowly by myself.
There was no signal on the mountain, and I was the only girl there when I went there early. Thinking about it, I feel so brave. When I was halfway up the mountain, fog started to float up. When I was going down the mountain, tourists started to come up. At that time, I could hardly see any scenery. Fortunately, I went there early. I returned to the entrance of the scenic area at about 2:30. I could take a short break, go to the hillside to take pictures of azaleas and horse cherry blossoms, and sit on the hillside for a while. Then I waited to watch the sunset after dinner. Finally, I went out at night to see the stars.
The Jiaozi Snow Mountain Scenic Area is not perfect (direct bus, lots of sheep and horse manure), but it is also because of this that the commercial atmosphere is not strong. It feels like the whole mountain is reserved for me during the off-season. I can sit on the hillside and stare at the clouds, or listen to the old song "Night Jasmine" and wait for the sunset, with sheep grazing behind me, or lie on a chair at the door of the hotel and watch the stars at night. The aunties who set up stalls all know me, and they always chat with me enthusiastically. Everything is beautiful and healing, and it is really worth the trip. Maybe I will come again next winter.
The closest snow mountain to Kunming, it is recommended to insist on going to the top, the scenery is endless, it is recommended to drive there by yourself and eat in Long
The scenery of Jiaozi Snow Mountain is really beautiful. In one day, you can see the snow-capped mountains with distinct four seasons. The altitude of Jiaoding is more than 4,200 meters. It is recommended that the elderly do not climb to the top of Jiaoding for sightseeing, as it may cause altitude sickness or breathing difficulties. The group we joined was a two-day tour. The first day was the Red Land Scenic Area, and the second day was the Jiaozi Snow Mountain Scenic Area. Our team leader was Afu, a young man who was very serious and responsible, especially in the Red Land Scenic Area. The young man helped us design how to take pictures and from which angle to take the best pictures. He also helped us take pictures, which was really great. I was quite disappointed with this trip to Yunnan. Other places are more commercialized, and it feels a bit like a rip-off! Even our driver was very smart. In the last two days, we took a two-day tour to the Red Land and Jiaozi Snow Mountain. Our leader Afu was serious and responsible, which gave us a glimmer of hope for Yunnan tourism. Afu's phone number is 18206767812: 18184814488. It is worth recommending. I had a good chat with Afu along the way. During the chat, I learned that Afu and his team are mainly a team formed by several brothers. They are running a one-day tour, two-day tour, or chartered tour of the Red Land, a one-day tour, chartered tour of Jiaozi Snow Mountain, a two-day tour or chartered tour of Jiaozi Snow Mountain plus the Red Land. They also provide scenic spots around Yunnan, chartered tours, independent VIPs, etc. Their service is really good, they are warm and hospitable, able to communicate, and very dedicated. They have lived in the Red Land since childhood and are relatively simple and honest. If you have friends coming over, you must introduce them to them. Don't worry,
So happy, it's the first time I saw snow. I climbed to the highest peak. Sometimes I climbed a little fast, my heart beat fast, and I felt out of breath. I was short of oxygen. I took a short break and it was fine. It was fine to walk on the flat road and go down the mountain. It was foggy for a while and a little better for a while, but it was foggy most of the time and it snowed. It was very big there. There was a simple toilet halfway up the mountain, but there was no water. I didn't go to the second highest peak, the waterfall and the hero's slope. I didn't see them because I was in a hurry to take the bus down the mountain. I set off from Kunming at 8 o'clock. I got to the ticket office at about 11 o'clock and took the shuttle bus (minibus). It took more than ten minutes to get to the starting point of the cable car. There was a two-person carriage. I was playing alone, so I sat by myself. It took about 10 minutes to get to the end of the cable car. It was a one-day tour. Considering that it was too troublesome to go by myself, there were only 8 people in our group, and we were free to move around. We started to go down the mountain at 2/3 o'clock. We could see other attractions and go down another way. At 5 o'clock in the afternoon, we took the shuttle bus to the parking lot and returned to Kunming city.
The scenery is still worth a visit, especially in Yunnan, where snow scenery is rare. It is really popular. There are really a lot of tourists, but the reception capacity of the scenic spot can no longer keep up with the average daily flow. Both the cable car and the plank road seriously affect the travel experience of tourists. It's not wrong to order more delicious food when you go up the mountain! ! ! Hahahaha
The Kunming to Jiaozi Snow Mountain tourist special line is in good condition. It took six hours to go back and forth from the city. It was quite wise for us to go there when it was not the weekend. There were no queues for the shuttle bus, cable car and other links, and there were not many people going up the mountain. Because we went there after the temperature dropped and the weather was clear for four days, the snow on the trees had fallen, but there was still thick snow in the jungle and high altitude areas, and the blue sky and white snow were very beautiful. There was no cloud and fog and the view was wide, and you could see the mountains in the distance. There are snacks for sale in Sifangjing. You can take some snacks to replenish your energy halfway without hot food. You can buy anti-skid chains on the mountain, which are not expensive. I personally think they are still useful. See the picture above. Low-latitude snow mountains are still worth a visit.
We walked up the mountain to see the scenery along the way. It was a real feast for the eyes! Of course, there were many unexpected gains. The curled up little mouse encountered a snowman ⛄️ (hmm? It looked a bit weird) I recorded the time, New Year's Day 2016! Due to weather and physical reasons, we took the cable car down the mountain. But there were still many beautiful views!
From my travel notes of Jiaozi Snow Mountain http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/8251602.html "The mountain is beautiful, the snow is beautiful, and you are even more beautiful; the poetic and picturesque scenery is intoxicating - the most beautiful Jiaozi Snow Mountain guide and the perfect guide for taking photos"
Meet you to see the flowers in spring, the moon in summer, step on the fallen leaves in autumn and play in the snow in winter;
You should wake up when you chant in the morning, the fun comes in the morning and the joy comes in the evening, the mountains are already covered with snow and the emotion is gone.
♥♥Address: At the junction of Luquan County and Dongchuan District, Kunming City, 4247 meters. It is a good choice for enjoying the snow after New Year's Day every year.
♥♥Transportation: Call a taxi with a mobile phone app, one-way fare is less than 200 yuan; Jiaozixueshan special bus, 80-88 yuan, departs from Kunming International Trade Center at 8 am every Saturday. It costs less than 20 yuan to take a taxi from Kunming city center to the International Trade Center. You can directly search "Jiaozixueshan" on China-TravelNote and select "charter/carpooling" to buy tickets. The journey takes 4 hours, nearly 200 kilometers.
♥♥Tickets: Online ticket purchase is 80 yuan. Please check whether the round-trip cableway and shuttle bus are included when purchasing.
♥♥Dress: If you check the weather forecast for Jiaozi Snow Mountain, you will generally get the same results as Kunming, and the actual feeling is not much different. Around New Year's Day, if the weather is sunny, you can dress like us hahahaha (January 6, 2018, the highest temperature was 19°C).
♥♥Altitude sickness: After taking the shuttle bus up to more than 3,000 meters, coupled with motion sickness, I felt obviously dizzy and nauseous, my eyeballs were about to explode and shattered all over the ground... It took about ten minutes to adapt. Friends who need to climb to the top can bring portable small oxygen.
♥♥Food: There are only fried potatoes, baked potatoes, simple rice noodles, etc. from small vendors. There are no supermarkets or stores, so please bring your own food.
♥♥Equipment: Wear gloves when playing in the snow. The temperature is not low, but the snow is really cold. The equipment I envy the most is the small shovel, which makes it easy to shovel snow and make snowmen. Also bring the decorations you are going to dress up the snowman with~
♥♥♥♥♥Notes:
1. Please remember the scenic spot helpline number 0871-68947299;
2. Don't get too excited, don't run around, don't do strenuous exercise, to prevent altitude sickness;
3. The depth of the snow is unknown, and the specific terrain of each place is unknown. You should try more places without footprints to avoid stepping on empty space and falling into deep pits;
4. Since the special bus only runs on Saturdays, there will be more people and long queues, so please be aware of the potential congestion;
5. Get down the mountain as soon as possible. There is a warning sign at the entrance of the ticket hall. Please pay attention. The temperature of the snow mountain drops sharply after 16:00. The shuttle bus will stop operating at 18:00 at the latest (when there are a lot of people, the passenger time will be extended). If you are late, you can only walk down the mountain for several hours. There are no street lights, it is slippery and dangerous, and you will suffer from hunger and cold (you can refer to the news about the stranded passengers who traveled on the same day as us);
6. Check the local weather and scenic spot conditions before traveling. When the road is frozen, there are many traffic safety hazards and the scenic spot will be closed;
7. There are countless peaks in life that cannot be climbed. It doesn’t matter whether you reach the top or not. What is best is to be healthy and happy.
There is no snow on Jiaozi Snow Mountain, and we didn’t see any alpine rhododendrons when we went there, but the overall environment is still okay.
Kunming people who miss snow but rarely see it often come here to watch and play in the snow in winter. The reputation of the mountain of snow actually overshadows its colorful and gorgeous scenery in spring and summer. It seems that people only know that there is snow on the mountain, but not that there are flowers in the mountain, rhododendrons and various unknown wild flowers all over the mountain, and the spectacular sea of fir forests, strange rocks and sea of clouds add to the scenery.
The reason why I didn't give it one star is that I haven't encountered any disgusting places yet, but I still chose not to recommend it, because after all, the purpose of going there is to see the beautiful scenery. The road from Kunming takes three hours to walk more than 100 kilometers. You have to queue up and change cars twice to get to the cable car. The queue for the cable car is also very bad. I queued for more than an hour and a half to go up and down the mountain. The waterfalls and pools marked in the scenic spots are actually relatively small in scale. The plank road is seriously damaged, and the sedan chair roof has no special features, especially when there is no snow. I personally think it is not worth going there. There are too many snow-capped mountains in Yunnan, and there are other options. Personal opinion, for reference only.
It feels very good, the first choice for mountaineering! You can also see snow in winter
The Jiaozi Snow Mountain in Yunnan is 4,223 meters above sea level. Climbing to the top is already your limit. However, you will see unimaginable snow scenery on the plateau. The snow scenery piled up under the blue sky and white clouds is so solemn and sacred. The white world in front of you can no longer distinguish whether it is cloud or snow. Perhaps you are in the sea of clouds. You feel that you have reached the closest distance to the sky. The sky is clear and bright, everything is white and pure, and the sun penetrates the snow and seems to shine at the foot of the mountain. You must not believe your eyes, and your exclamation has long been lacking words. Then your trip is really worthwhile.........

Don't forget to take beautiful photos when you are intoxicated by the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped mountains. The last bus to go down the mountain is at 16:30, so remember to arrive early. The last bus to return to Kunming is at 14:30, so tourists who want to return to Kunming should try to go down the mountain as early as possible, around 11 o'clock. So I think 3 days and 2 nights is enough for such a beautiful scenery.
The scenery is great and the weather is changeable, it's worth a visit.
It's very cold, but the scenery is very nice. It is said that it will be a beautiful sight when the azaleas bloom in May and June.
It was May, and the highlight of Jiaozi Snow Mountain should be the azaleas all over the mountain. But the azaleas are not actually on the top of the mountain, but next to the station where you wait for the shuttle bus. When you look up, you can see a large area of pink on the hillside. Combined with the mountain hut, it feels quite Japanese.
Jiaozi Snow Mountain is located in Wumeng Township, northeast of Luquan, Kunming, Yunnan. The highest altitude is 4,247 meters. The mountain is named after its shape like a sedan chair! It is rich in animal and plant resources, and there are many rare birds. You have to be lucky to see them! It is covered with ice and snow in spring and winter. It is the closest snow mountain to Kunming! Ten thousand acres of azalea flowers bloom in spring and summer, and there are different scenery in the mountains all year round! The landscape is natural, without too much artificial decoration! The supporting facilities need to be strengthened, and there are not enough playgrounds...
The next morning at breakfast, our bus took us to Jiaozi Snow Mountain at 8 o'clock. It took a whole day to complete the trip, and we didn't return to the hotel until around 7 o'clock in the evening. Remember to buy delicious food in the town the night before to replenish your nutrition before going up the mountain. Because of the high altitude, it is very physically demanding, and the mountain is windy and cold, so you must bring enough clothes, preferably warm, breathable and windproof.
Jiaozi Snow Mountain Scenic Area is located at an altitude of 3,800 to 4,100 meters. There are many glacial depressions, some of which are filled with water all year round and become alpine lakes, also known as Tianchi. The three famous lakes are Xueshan Tianchi, Mubanghai, and Jingguaitan. Due to the high location of the lake and the unstable climate on the top of the mountain, once the lake surface is disturbed or roars loudly, it often causes rain or hail, which adds to the mysterious color of Jiaozi Mountain. The water of Tianchi is as clear as jade, and the lake and mountain scenery complement each other, beautiful and quiet. You can choose to take the cable car or hike up Jiaozi Snow Mountain, because we want to save some energy, go up the cable car, walk down, first go to the top of the Jiaozi Mountain, and then walk down the ladder of the sky, which can save a lot of energy. If you go up the ladder first, you will be exhausted if you climb the almost vertical sky, so our choice is right!
The wind was so strong on the top of the sedan that it could blow people away. There were more than 10 of us who reached the top. Some who couldn't make it could only wait below. It was like being on the top of the mountain, overlooking all the other mountains. Eat something on the sedan to replenish your energy. Be careful not to litter, protect nature, and bring it down the mountain, because I saw how difficult it is for the cleaners. On such a high mountain, remember, remember, remember! After getting off the sedan, we walked to Tianchi. The lake water was frozen. We played on it for a while. Before going up, try the thickness of the ice first. Don't jump, just in case.
Itinerary:
2017.2.25
9:30 am, drive from the city
At 12:00 in the morning, we arrived at Zhuanlong Town, Luquan County, put our luggage in the hotel, and had a hot beef steak.
At 13:30 in the afternoon, drive from Zhuanlong to Jiaozi Snow Mountain Scenic Area
At 14:15 in the afternoon, we arrived at the tourist service center of the scenic spot, picked up the electronic ticket we bought the day before, and lined up to take the public bus to the foot of the mountain.
14:30 PM, arrived at the foot of the mountain
We took a lot of time taking photos and playing around along the way. It was already five o'clock when we reached the Fairyland. The cable car down the mountain ended at six o'clock. We were worried that the walk down the mountain would be too slippery, so we decided to go down the mountain even though there was still about one-third of the way to go. We will come back next time with some regrets. The cable car went down to the foot of the mountain at six o'clock, and we returned to the tourist center at six twenty, and returned to Zhuanlong Town at nearly seven o'clock. I didn't realize how tired I was until I sat on the bed.
Although it was cold and tiring, I think it was worth it if it was such a vast and beautiful natural scenery. I heard that the mountains would be full of azaleas in summer, with white, red and pink colors, which reminded me of Cangshan Mountain in Dali. Goodbye, Jiaozi Snow Mountain, maybe not long, when the azaleas are in full bloom in the valley in summer, I will come to see you again.
You can go during the National Day! You can go during the Chinese New Year! You can go back and forth on the same day! You can reach the top in one day! Before I went, many people stopped me because I went there during the peak tourist season. I couldn't get in even if I bought a ticket. There were so many people and I heard too many things about not being able to return on the same day. In the end, I went anyway.
Here is a guide for the peak tourist season! Time: The second day of the Chinese New Year, departure place: Kunming, departure time: 8 am! The drive takes 2.5 hours. Start climbing at 12:30, hike the whole way, go to the cableway terminal platform at 1 am to have lunch for half an hour, take the rightmost route to the top at 3 am, take photos and rest for half an hour, return the same way, go to the shuttle bus at 5 am, queue for 1.5 hours to drive home, eat dinner on the way, and arrive in Kunming at about 10:30 pm (if driving slowly).
There won’t be too much traffic along the way, it would be perfect if we could depart from Kunming at 6 o’clock.
The scenery of Jiaozi Mountain varies throughout the year, so you can visit it any time of the year. It is the closest snow mountain to downtown Kunming, especially in winter when you go to see the snow. It is so beautiful!
Kunming Jiaozi Snow Mountain and Dongchuan Red Land are in the same direction and can be visited together for two days
Jiaozi Snow Mountain is located in Wumeng Township, northeast of Luquan County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It belongs to the remnant of Gongwang Mountain Range of Wumeng Mountain System. The highest altitude is 4247 meters. The mountain is named after its shape like a sedan chair. In the Tang Dynasty, the king of Nanzhao in Dali named this mountain "Lenibai". After the snow, Jiaozi Snow Mountain is covered with silver and the scenery is beautiful.
The scenery is great, and the alpine rhododendrons are so beautiful, like a poem or a picture.
The closest snow mountain to Kunming, there is a special highway from Kunming to the scenic spot, the road condition is good! The scenic area is well planned and protected, and the price is reasonable! There are too few service facilities outside the scenic area, basically family hotels. Zhuanlong Town is very small and the reception capacity is limited. The price will definitely go up during the peak season. The snow scene and the sea of rhododendrons are unique, it is still worth a visit!
The snow-capped mountain closest to Kunming is more than 4,000 meters above sea level. The mountain is very beautiful after the snow in winter.
It was a bit warm in March, but there was still a lot of snow and ice waterfalls on the mountain, which was spectacular, and the cedars were beautiful. It's great to have such a snowy mountain so close to Kunming. It's not very famous, there are relatively few people, and the air is super good. It's worth going.
Although the journey is a bit far, hard work pays off. When you see the snow-covered mountains and the clear blue sky, you will be grateful to yourself.
On November 29, we drove and stayed at Jiaozi Mountain Villa. The next morning, we took the first tourist bus to Jiaozi Snow Mountain. As a result, there were few tourists and the driver did not drive until after 9 o'clock. From Jiaozi Mountain Villa at an altitude of 3174 meters to Xiapingzi at an altitude of 3533 meters, there is about 7 kilometers of winding mountain road. The special tourist bus arrived at Jiaozi Snow Mountain Scenic Area at 9:40. We chose to take the cable car from Xiapingzi to go up the mountain and hike to Daheiqing, Huaxi, Feilai Waterfall, Lianhua Waterfall, Tianlai Waterfall, Moon Rock, and Jingguaitang. It may be the off-season for tourism, and there is little ice and snow on Jiaozi Snow Mountain, so there are few tourists along the way. At 11:30 at the Kanda Observation Deck, I hesitated whether to go to Jiaoding at 4223 meters, because we had decided to rush to Dongchuan Red Land to watch the sunset that afternoon. Secondly, there was no snow on Jiaoding. In addition, it would take too long to go back to Jiaoding, so we gave up climbing to the top and walked towards Tianchi. There are signposts and plank roads along the way, so you won't get lost. Hiking on this mountain with an altitude of nearly 4,000 meters, and looking at the sea of clouds at your feet, it is really refreshing. Then pass the Mubang Lake at an altitude of 4,050 meters and the Tianchi Lake at 4,150 meters, and gradually go down from Aogulin to the temple ruins, and then to the Yitiantian at 3,987 meters. There are about 600 steps down the mountain road and return to Huaxi. The whole trip went counterclockwise around Jiaozi Snow Mountain, and then took the cable car to Xiapingzi, just in time to catch the 15:00 tourist bus going down the mountain. In summary, Jiaozi Snow Mountain is worth a visit. There may be fewer snow and ice scenes at this time, but there are few tourists along the way, so isn’t it the right time to hike and enjoy the scenery?
The snow-capped mountains are beautiful. But the planning is not good~~ The quality of the Chinese people needs to be improved~~ The white snow-capped mountains are full of garbage
It is a good place to experience the northern scenery in Spring City. It has convenient transportation and a dedicated highway that goes directly to it. You can invite three or five friends to play together on weekends.
It is more than 200 kilometers away from Kunming, and it only takes 1.5 hours to drive from Kunming. It is the closest snow mountain to Kunming. It is named because of its shape like a sedan chair. The highest peak is 4227 meters. In winter, it is covered with snow, which is rare for us in the south. In spring, the Jiaozi Snow Mountain is a sea of flowers, and the rhododendrons are in full bloom, which is another kind of beauty.
Flowers in summer, water in autumn, and snowy Jiaozi Snow Mountain in winter. Different seasons have different scenery.
Jiaozi Snow Mountain is the highest peak in Kunming, with an altitude of more than 4,200 meters, which is not inferior to many peaks in Shangri-La. The local virgin forest is well protected, with distinct four seasons, suitable for watching ice and snow in winter, waterfalls in summer, and sea of flowers in spring. A great place!
Transportation: It is quite convenient to go to Jiaozi Snow Mountain. Now there is a special tourist line from Kunming to Jiaozi Snow Mountain, which is about 200 kilometers. It is recommended to drive there for convenience. It takes about 3 hours to reach the scenic spot without counting the time in the city. If you take the bus, it is more troublesome. You need to go to the northern bus station to take the bus to Luquan direction and then transfer to Zhuanlong.
But, the most important thing is not the tourist line, which is easy to drive. The new secondary road has a lot of curves. If you drive out after get off work like me, it is a good choice to have dinner in Tangdian, which is a Hui ethnic group settlement area and the beef dishes are delicious. (Tangdian is 90 kilometers away from Kunming and 60 kilometers away from Xueshan); it is not a problem to maintain a speed of 60-80km on the road.
Accommodation: Zhuanlong or Tangdian can be used as a transit point, the advantage is that it is convenient and cheap, but if you want to climb the mountain early in the morning, you can choose to stay in a villa or a farmhouse in the scenic area. I chose Jiaozi Villa, which is right inside the scenic area. It is a four-star hotel and a pretty good place.
Meals: There are limited foods on the mountain. You can eat at Jiaozi Villa, but there is not much. It is recommended to eat in the town at the foot of the mountain.
Scenery: It is really beautiful, not inferior to many mainstream scenic spots. It is just foggy. Huaxi and Jiaoding are recommended. The ticket cost is generally 75 yuan, which is included in our accommodation.
Public: There are buses to Xiapingzi (3500 meters above sea level), and then there is a cable car to Daheiqing (3900 meters). However, to reach the main attractions, you need to climb for 2 hours, and the altitude is always above 3900 meters, which requires good physical strength;
The cable car fee is 35 yuan per person for a one-way trip and 70 for a round trip, so just buy a one-way trip, and then buy another one-way trip when you get off. There is no discount anyway.
Equipment: Waterproof and windproof are recommended. It is recommended to wear a hat. The mountaintop is very windy and foggy. It is wet and slippery for a long time. Bring non-slip shoes. Bring sunscreen in winter (the higher the better). The ultraviolet rays on the mountaintop are very strong and you should bring sunglasses. Bring water and food. There are some on the mountain but they are very expensive. You may not be able to walk to the rest area when you are tired.
It is relatively close to downtown Kunming and is not highly developed. You have a high degree of freedom after going up the mountain, but you must pay attention to safety!
It is recommended to stay overnight in Luquan Town and drive up the mountain early the next day, so you won’t be so tired! Because most of the roads are winding mountain roads with narrow lanes, coupled with the high altitude, there is often fog on the road, and the driving visibility is poor!
The scenery is different in each season. I personally feel that winter and spring are good! Be careful to prevent cold and rain when going up the mountain. The weather on the mountain is changeable, and heavy rain and low temperatures are very common! Bring enough food and water. Due to the limited development, there is no shopping on the mountain. You can only carry it on your own. Red Bull is a must!
The scenery is very good, different seasons have different scenery, it is worth a visit, but friends from other provinces should be careful of altitude sickness
The Red Land is in the same direction as the Jiaozi Mountain mentioned above. If you have enough time, you can go to Jiaozi Mountain. During the Spring Festival, the scenic area could not bear the large number of tourists and reached saturation. When we arrived at the scenic area, the ticket sales had stopped. We could only take two photos at the door and leave. When I was a child, Jiaozi Mountain was called Jiaozi Snow Mountain. Now due to greenhouse changes, the snow on the mountain has melted. Only after a few snowfalls in winter can it return to the appearance of a snow mountain. The summit is 4,200 meters above sea level.
In May, the Jiaozi Snow Mountain is covered with rhododendrons, both the colors and the flowers are the most beautiful!
The closest snow-capped mountain to Kunming;
Every season has a different scenery;
For people living in Kunming, it is a very happy thing;
From Kunming to Xueshan, the transportation is convenient and the road conditions are very good. It is a good place for weekend trips.
We experienced rain, snowstorms, strong winds, thunder, thin air in the mountains, teammates’ reactions to the high mountains, low temperatures, exploring the high mountain snow, camping, etc. This was a very unforgettable experience in my life!
People with weak heart, high blood pressure or physical discomfort are not recommended to go to "Jiaoding" (the highest point of Jiaozi Mountain). I didn't feel lack of oxygen when climbing the mountain this time, but I felt dizzy, heart pain and chest tightness after coming down the mountain. It was so uncomfortable that I took a day off the next day and quickly consulted the doctor and took some Rhodiola rosea. I felt better.
Required equipment: thick clothes, hat, mask, gloves, chocolate, sunglasses
Suggestion: You can go earlier in the morning. It is recommended to start from Zhuanlong at 6:30, so that you can see the more beautiful sea of clouds. We went up the mountain a little late, so we could only see a little bit of the sea of clouds. The weather was too good and the wind was very strong, so it was blown away in a short while! According to the locals, you can bring your own tent to camp, and you can see the sunrise in the morning. That... the beauty is unimaginable... Suggestion: If you are not feeling well, you'd better not go to the top of the Jiaoding. It's enough to play below.
But I don't regret this trip, the scenery is really amazing. It is said that in May and June, the mountains will be full of azalea flowers. I am still looking forward to it! !
Jiaozi Snow Mountain is located in Wumeng Township, northeast corner of Luquan County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province. It belongs to the remnant of Gongwang Mountain Range of Wumeng Mountain System. The highest altitude is 4247 meters. The peak is named after its shape like a sedan chair. The king of Nanzhao in Dali in the Tang Dynasty named this mountain "Lenibai". Jiaozi Snow Mountain is a pillar of thousands of feet, with obvious three-dimensional climate. The geological and geomorphological landscape has high ornamental and scientific research value. It is rich in animal and plant resources and covered with ice and snow in winter. It is the closest snow mountain with great development potential to Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. Its unique natural landscape attracts more and more mountaineering and tourism enthusiasts. The main scenic area is a collection of thousands of acres of azalea sea, alpine Tianchi, colorful waterfalls, and Jiaozi Buddha. We arrived at Jiaozi Snow Mountain during the National Day and found that most of the cars were from Kunming. So it will take some time for this fun place to be familiar to hikers. In the process of climbing to the top, braving the low temperature, fog, cold rain, and strong wind, it was worth the hard work to climb to the top of the sedan chair.
First of all, the weather in Jiaozi Mountain changes too quickly. If you wear too little, you will feel cold. If you wear too much, you will feel hot when exercising. You should carry a backpack and put your coat in the bag when it gets hot. Also, carry some food that can fill your stomach but is not heavy, plus two bottles of water.
Secondly, the wind is strong in the mountains, and the ears will be blown. In addition, for people like me who often have headaches, wearing a hat is the most suitable. It doesn’t matter if I sweat and the wind blows, and my hair will not be blown messy if I tie it up.
Finally, the altitude was high and the ultraviolet rays were strong. When we arrived at "Jingguaitang", the sun was so strong towards the top of the sedan that I got sunburned below my forehead where the hat couldn't cover it. After I got home, I felt so painful that my skin was peeling off.
This is the closest snow mountain to Kunming. If you go there in July or August, there won’t be much snow on the mountain. But if you come here in winter, it will be a beautiful snow mountain scenery. It’s beyond my expectation.
We climbed the mountain on March 30th and climbed all the way to the top. Fortunately, we went early so we could still see snow. By the time we got down the mountain in the afternoon, the snow had basically melted.
Friends who want to go (by car) can choose to stay in Zhuanlong Town, after all, the cost of staying in Jiaozi Villa is a bit higher. Friends who do not drive by car can also choose to stay in Zhuanlong. There are vans going up the mountain every day. When booking online, you only need to book the tickets.
I went here before it was developed into a scenic spot. There were not many people and the scenery was beautiful. But it was very difficult to walk... There were beautiful ice waterfalls and a very blue sky.
Did it snow where you are? . . . Jiaozi Snow Mountain Ice Lake is very beautiful. In the afternoon, half of the lake water melted.
Jiaozi Mountain is a typical mountain-shaped glacial landform in central Yunnan. The scenic area has towering peaks, cliffs, virgin forests, glacial lakes, alpine meadows, well-preserved glacial relics, a wide variety of relict plants, rich rare animal and plant resources, unique landscape changes in four seasons, charming natural scenery, and strong ethnic customs. Jiaozi Mountain is in the ice and snow period from late November to March of the following year, with a snow thickness of 0.5-2.0 meters. In winter, Jiaozi Mountain becomes a huge silver snake, the water becomes a clear glacier, and the trees, flowers and plants are all covered in a white snow coat. The vast Jiaozi Mountain becomes a world wrapped in silver makeup, with thousands of trees and branches, crystal clear, and pure. The cedars echo with the icicles, and the ice ridges echo with the falling water, making people intoxicated with the sacred mountain and extraordinary. In the area of Jiaozi Snow Mountain with an altitude of 2,500 to 4,000 meters, there are many mountain waterfalls of various shapes and sizes, with a drop of tens to hundreds of meters. In summer, these waterfalls are like silver curtains, surrounded by clouds and mist. In winter, the waterfalls are "frozen" from top to bottom, forming ice waterfalls, like huge white marble sculptures with various shapes.

Jiaozi Snow Mountain is a thousand-foot-high pillar, covered with ice and snow in winter.
The snow season lasts from November to March of the following year, with a snow depth of 0.5-2.0 meters. The Jiaozi Snow Mountain, with snowflakes fluttering and icefalls hanging high, is a great season for mountaineering and snow-walking. Above 3,500 meters, it is a world of ice and snow, with knee-deep snow. Looking over the scenic area, you can see silver everywhere.

The ice on the Mubanhai, Xiaohai, Tianchi, Jingguaitan and other lakes on the mountaintop platform is a foot thick. On the two walls of the canyon below the Yixiantian, ice waterfalls are shoulder to shoulder, creating a magnificent scene.
Being there, you can feel the scenery of thousands of miles of ice and snow in the north. The scenery is beautiful and strange. In short, it shocked me. The better accommodation and food at the foot of the mountain are not cheap, but you always have to eat something to experience the local characteristics. However, I suggest other friends to consider bringing some things with them and check some cost-effective inns in advance.
I went there for a day but I haven't finished yet, but I think the scenery is beautiful
Jiaozi Snow Mountain has just opened a ski resort, so the loud speaker at the entrance has been encouraging everyone to go skiing (I forgot the specific price, there are billboards everywhere). I bought a package ticket (ticket + shuttle bus + cable car) online the day before, 130 yuan/person, and bought two sets directly. When purchasing, there is a reminder that the network signal on the mountain is not good, and it is recommended that everyone save the QR code in advance. In fact, when I got to the mountain, I felt that the signal was okay. Just near the sedan curtain, there was a period of time when China Telecom only had 3G, and China Mobile died for a while. The rest of the road was basically full of China Telecom 4G. The shuttle bus will set off when it is full. If you want to see the valley scenery, it is recommended to sit in the left row of seats by the window, unless you are afraid of heights like me. Similarly, if you want to see the scenery when going down the mountain, it is recommended to sit in the right row of seats by the window. It is said that it is a 20-minute shuttle bus and a 15-minute cable car. There is no specific time, but because of my fear of heights, I feel that the cable car takes a long time, especially when I get to a very high place, there are no surrounding trees as a reference, and I almost feel that the cable car is motionless, which is scary. The cable car is not big, and there are seats on only one side. At most, two adults and one child can sit on it, and usually two people can sit on it. When we went up the mountain in the morning, the sun was not high and the wind was strong. The cable car was not fully enclosed, and the door had a gap. It was very cold when we sat in the cable car. When we went down the mountain, I was horrified to find that the gap of the door on my side was so wide that I could easily squeeze out a mobile phone. The higher the place, the stronger the wind. When we went down the mountain in the afternoon, the wind was even stronger than in the morning. The cable car swayed from side to side, which was really scary. After getting off the cable car, we started to climb the mountain. At this time, most of the trees were pine forests, and there were some other vegetation. Most of the steps were clean, and a few steps had snow or frozen ice. Be careful not to slip. If necessary, hold the railings tightly, try to step on the exposed steps, and don't step on the ice. I saw a girl wearing crampons on her shoes but couldn't hold the ice and kept slipping. But there are not many such sections. When we arrived at Jingguai Pond, it was frozen and we couldn't see it as a pond, but there were still some people running to play on the ice (although the sign said not to go, there were more people in this area when we went down the mountain in the afternoon. It seems that many people came to this area to play in the snow). From Jingguaitang to Jiaolian, it is basically a relatively flat plank road like this, and it is not stressful to walk. It's just that the sun on the plateau is too hot and the wind is too strong. I walked all the way to the right and walked to Jiaolian. There is a pavilion next to this sign. Many people rest here, but it is still windy. With your back to this sign, there is another place to rest in front, and there is no wind there. However, the strong sun at an altitude of 4000+ is too hot, and it made my ankles hurt.
