At night, we could only visit the last place in Kunming, which is Nanping Street. On the one hand, we could take a last look at the night view of Kunming, and on the other hand, we could taste Kunming’s snacks (Xiangyun Food City). After all, we had to leave here early the next day, and we didn’t know when we would come to Yunnan next time.
Experience Kunming's night scene, night market, and stroll in the warm breeze
Kunming's city center is very lively and convenient for shopping and dining.
It might be the Spring Festival, there were people everywhere, and I had to queue up to find food. I didn’t feel the atmosphere of the ancient commercial street. At first I thought I was in the wrong place, but I saw the sign and checked in. On the way back, I didn’t feel like shopping, so I took the subway one stop back to my residence.
Most of the shops on Nanping Street have closed. It’s a typical pedestrian street. In China, the models are all similar. They are all the same, but they never deviate from the norm. It’s really a bit boring.
There are still some characteristics, but they are not obvious. You need to experience them yourself.
After sleeping for almost a day and a night, Bubble and I finally became energetic again.
I was clamoring to go downtown to eat rice noodles, and Paopao also happened to want to buy a coat, so we hit it off and set off right away.
The last time I came to Kunming, there was no subway. Now there are three lines: 1, 2 and 6. Line 3 will be opened soon, making travel much more convenient.
However, the Dongfeng Square station in the center of Kunming is still a long way from the old street (I don’t know if a closer station will be built in the future), so we changed to shared bicycles after getting off the subway. Kunming is a city of spring, and it is pleasant to ride a bicycle in a mild weather.
When you get to Nanping Street, you can’t ride a bike anymore and you can only walk.
I went to eat the Qiaoxiangyuan Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles and Steamed Pot Chicken that I had been craving for. Every time I come here, I have to listen to Paopao tell the story of how the two owners of this restaurant turned against each other and split up.
After dinner, we went shopping in the mall. I was so excited when I passed by the Yunnan Baiyao store.
Nanping Street is the oldest commercial street in Kunming and the financial, commercial and entertainment center of Kunming in the past. The 40,000 square meters of urban leisure and entertainment space has "ground reliefs and dry fountains", street leisure benches with Kunming folk column bases, and five groups of scene sculptures that show the folk customs of old Kunming, namely "walking birds", "carrying water", "taking pictures", "selling and shouting", and "jumping into the sea".
Isn't this called Jinma Bijifang? It's a pedestrian shopping street like an ancient street. However, I didn't find anything good to buy. It's different from the shopping ancient towns in other cities. In the end, I didn't buy anything.
The Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway is exquisitely carved with beams and painted with rafters. The east side of the archway faces the Golden Horse Mountain and is named the Golden Horse Archway, while the west side faces the Jade Rooster Mountain and is named the Jade Rooster Archway. It is the symbol of Kunming. The design of the "Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway" reflects the ancient Yunnan people's attainments in mathematics, astronomy and architecture. There are commercial areas and some hotels nearby.
It is very lively here. You can visit here for sightseeing, taking photos and shopping during the day. At night, there will be many vendors setting up stalls, selling all kinds of delicious snacks, including barbecue, rice noodles, casserole, stinky tofu, malatang, etc.
Nanping Street is bustling with delicious restaurants. As a foodie, I really like this place.

Nanping Street is probably the most popular pedestrian street for Kunming residents. It is very lively and prosperous, with many department stores and shops, where you can go shopping.
This landmark building in Kunming, a city with a history of more than 2,000 years, was the political, economic and cultural center in ancient times. Together with the Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway, it is a must-see if you come to Kunming.
Nanping Street is full of shops and there are many girls shopping.
Very modern pedestrian street, very beautiful, with everything you need
Nanping Food Street, however, is not a Yunnan specialty. We eat takoyaki, barbecue, sushi,
There are many things to eat on Nanping Street. I love the braised chicken roll noodle restaurant on the north side of Nanping Street. The baba with various fillings and the crazy fried potatoes on Nanping Snack Street are delicious.
Nanping Street is similar to all other commercial streets, it has nothing special about it.
Nanping Street is a pedestrian street. It is crowded with people from the evening. The so-called pedestrian streets are similar. People come here mainly for the full range of commercial functions and sufficient supplies. The night of the commercial street is always so lively and noisy.
I went there at night. There is a pedestrian street nearby. Yes, it is just like the pedestrian streets in major cities.
Nanping Street is a commercial street with beautiful buildings, suitable for couples to go shopping together. There is also a Taobao Street in Nanping Street, which is suitable for girls because the clothes there are cheap and the styles are quite nice.
We still had some extra time, so we took a bus to Kunming's commercial center, Nanping Street, and wandered around. In fact, the commercial streets in various places are similar, and there's nothing much to see.
It's not really a food street and there aren't many food stalls and they don't taste good.
Nanping Street is actually Beijing Road in Guangzhou, which is not interesting for people coming from big cities.
Take bus No. 1 to Nanping Street. The streets are full of lanterns. The Chinese New Year is a festive occasion. There is an alley in Nanping Street with many shops selling jade and many food items worth visiting. When we went there, the locals pointed us to a big shopping mall. After eating, we found many snacks hidden in the alleys. We must walk around more.
We had dinner at Nanping Street Snack Street. This snack street is made up of small outdoor stalls. It is not as scammy as Wangfujing Snack Street in Beijing. The prices are cheap and the taste is very good.
When asked about shopping in Kunming, the first thing people recommend is Nanping Street, which is not bad.
It's a street lined with shops, just like all the commercial streets in other cities, with neither good nor bad features.
It is a pedestrian street in Kunming City, you can go there for a stroll. There is a place called Annual Ring Restaurant, which is very unique.
Eat while walking on Nanping Street. The snack street in Nanping Street is worth a visit.
Nanping Street is a bit like the Confucius Temple in Nanjing, a fusion of urban history and culture with modernity. Like the Confucius Temple, the surrounding area is full of shops and snacks, as well as many bronze statues.
Nanping Street is the center of Kunming. Even if you don't like crowds, you still have to go there. Step on the smooth stone pavement and touch the bronze statues standing on both sides of the road.
Nanping Street is crowded with people, mainly local residents. It is their shopping paradise.
Nanping Street. It turns out that pedestrian streets everywhere are pretty much the same, crowded with people, loud music from shops, and a variety of snacks.
As the downtown business district, it is densely dotted with large and small shopping malls, supermarkets, brand stores, sculptures and archways that symbolize the rise and fall of Kunming. During major festivals, there are always many people gathering here to celebrate. (You can come here to feel the snow spraying all over the sky during Christmas)
These fried potatoes were really delicious, I still miss them now.
I insisted on buying the grilled tofu, but they both refused to buy it. In fact, it seemed that it really didn't taste good.
The roasted pig's trotters look tempting, but they don't taste as good as you might think.
Go to a late night street to eat barbecue (I think it's called [Nanping Street])
The barbecue here is sold in portions. The meat is about 18 yuan per portion and the portion is quite large.
Nanping Street at night
I like this kind of rock and roll, this kind of night
Nanping Pedestrian Street, with the tunnel underneath, is now the commercial center of Kunming. The New Kunming Cinema, Carrefour, Watsons, the new department store, Suning, Parkson, and the snack street are all in this area. It is my favorite place!
