Xishan is also called Biji Mountain. From a distance, Xishan looks like a woman lying on the bank of Dianchi Lake, so it is known as the "Sleeping Beauty of Xishan".
The forest here is dense, the environment is fresh, and you can overlook the vast Dianchi Lake. It has always been a good place for tourists to climb mountains and enjoy the scenery.
The Longmen Grottoes on the mountain are ancient and precious, and are a must-visit for tourists who love culture.
"Showing at Xishan Mountain on March 3rd" is a traditional folk festival in Kunming. Every year on the third day of March, Kunming citizens gather here to sing and dance, which is very lively.

Xishan Longmen Scenic Area is located on Xishan in Xishan District, on the side of Dianchi Lake, and across the water from Haigeng Park. Longmen Scenic Area is not big and can be visited in two hours. It can be visited together with Dianchi Lake and Haigeng Park, which is just enough for a day.
To go to the scenic area, you can take bus No. 44, No. 24, No. 73, No. 94, No. 135, No. 172, No. 233 and get off at Haigeng Park Station. The ticket office is not far from the bus station. Take the Dianchi Cableway to Xishan. The cableway costs 40 yuan for a one-way trip and 70 yuan for a round trip. After buying the ticket, take the free battery car to the cableway station.
The cableway will pass over Dianchi Lake. Because we went there in winter, we could see many red-billed gulls on the floating rafts on the water. They were small white dots, like small musical notes. The end of the cableway is at the hillside of Xishan Mountain, which is a large flat land. From here to the top of the mountain is the Longmen Scenic Area. There is a ticket office next to the cableway. The ticket for the Longmen Scenic Area is 40 yuan.
Because the scenic area is not big, we chose to walk the whole way. Of course, there is also a convenient way, which is the Xishan cable car plus a battery car. The cable car only needs a one-way trip, which costs 25 yuan. Generally, you take the cable car up the mountain, then walk down the mountain to enjoy the scenery, and then take the battery car to the entrance of the scenic area.
After entering the scenic area, it was a little far from the entrance to the scenic spot, and we walked for about twenty minutes. The scenery along the way was really picturesque, with green trees on the mountain, rippling water underfoot, fresh air, and a comfortable mood. It felt very relaxing.
The mountain is quite steep, and there are couplets and inscriptions by celebrities everywhere, most of which praise the scenery of Dianchi Lake. They are very dense, and there is a scene at almost every step. The scenic spots are also different. Some require entering caves, and some roads are on the cliffs. They are very narrow. When you see the cliffs below, your legs feel weak.
Kunming people love to go there on weekends. The whole journey is paved. There are several ways to go up the mountain. You can also take the bus in the scenic area. The air on the road is fresh and the forest smells strong. Occasionally, you can see aunties dancing on the roadside. Generally, you have to bring some water and snacks with you in the morning. It’s better not to carry too much. There are water and food for sale on the way. There are also toilets and attractions along the way. It’s still a distance from Longmen, but the distance is very close. You need to buy a ticket to Longmen to go there.
There is also a Nie Er Memorial Hall and a Nie Er sculpture in the middle of the mountain. The Magnolia Garden and Huating Temple on the road are places you can go in and take a look. When the Magnolia Garden is in bloom, the whole garden is super beautiful for taking photos.
Xishan Forest Park amazed me, especially the two ancient temples, which were set against the bright sunshine and the smell of fireworks lingering in my mind. The season when I came was just right with not too many or too few tourists. There are beautiful scenery everywhere, one step at a time. The transportation is also very convenient. We live in Xishan District. It only cost 40 yuan to take a taxi here in the morning. The driver kindly told us that there is a subway to our hotel at the entrance of the scenic spot, and it turned out to be true. I don’t like photography too much, so I took a few photos casually. I recommend that you can come to Xishan for family travel, buy a bus, sightseeing bus and Longmen tickets, and a cableway pass, which costs only 65 yuan per person. It’s a good choice to travel around.
After exiting the Dianchi Lake cableway, the ticket office of the Xishan Longmen Scenic Area is not far away. The Longmen cableway and sightseeing bus are also nearby, and you need to buy a ticket to enter the Longmen Scenic Area.
The most time-saving and labor-saving way to visit Longmen Scenic Area is to take the Longmen Cableway, walk down to visit various scenic spots in Longmen in turn to the sightseeing bus boarding point, take the sightseeing bus, and return to the Longmen Scenic Area ticket office.
Another tour route is to take the sightseeing bus, hike up to visit the various scenic spots in Longmen, and then go down the Longmen cableway.
We chose to go up the Longmen cable car (25 yuan/person for one way), walk down to visit the various scenic spots in Longmen in turn, and get off by sightseeing bus (10 yuan/person for one way).
Tickets for Longmen Scenic Area: 30 yuan/person
Opening hours: 8:30-17:00
Xishan is located on the west side of Kunming City, adjacent to Dianchi Lake, about 15 kilometers away from the city. With dense forests, fresh and elegant environment, and a view of the vast Dianchi Lake, it has always been a good place for Kunming people and tourists to climb mountains and enjoy the scenery. The Longmen Grottoes on the mountain are even more ancient and precious, and are a must-visit for tourists who love humanities.
There are many scenic spots in Xishan Scenic Area, such as Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Nie Er's Tomb, Sanqing Pavilion, etc., all of which are unique. Starting from the entrance of the scenic area, the road up the mountain is asphalt. As you go along, you can see Dianchi Lake from time to time, and you can also encounter ancient temples such as Huating Temple and Taihua Temple. In addition, the air in the mountains is fresh, which makes it quite pleasant to wander around. It takes about 2 hours to walk from the entrance to Longmen on the top of the mountain. It is recommended to take the scenic area's eco-friendly car directly to Longmen Gate. After playing in Longmen, walk down the mountain slowly, which is more relaxing.
Longmen refers to a section of stone carvings between Sanqing Pavilion on the West Mountain and Datian Pavilion on the top of the mountain. The thousands of steps along the way and the reliefs, stone carvings and caves that can be seen everywhere along the way were all carved bit by bit by craftsmen in the Qing Dynasty using primitive tools. The entire project took 72 years to complete, which is spectacular. Datian Pavilion is the commanding height of Longmen, with a special viewing platform. Standing on the platform, you can overlook the vast 500-mile Dianchi Lake. After passing the viewing platform, continue forward and you will reach Lingxu Pavilion, which is higher than Datian Pavilion in altitude and has a wider view. But the road along the way is very open and flat. After the tour, you can take the Longmen cableway back to Taihua Mountain Villa halfway up the mountain.
Walking down the mountain road next to Taihua Villa, you will soon arrive at Nie Er's tomb, which contains a white marble statue of Nie Er and an exhibition hall. There is a jukebox with headphones in the hall, where you can enjoy Nie Er's music and take a rest.
Continue walking to Taihua Temple and Huating Temple. The two temples were built in the Yuan Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty respectively. The main buildings such as the bell and drum tower, the Heavenly King Hall, and the Great Hall of the Buddha all rise with the mountain, appearing tall and majestic. The two temples are connected by the "Taihua Ancient Road". The stone steps on the mountain road are wide and flat. Walking along it feels peaceful and remote, and you can also avoid the flow of people going up and down the mountain. Continue to go down, pass the Magnolia Garden and Sheng'an Pavilion in turn, and you can return to the gate of the scenic area.
If you have a free day in Kunming, I strongly recommend you spend an afternoon at Xishan. Walk up the mountain from the subway station, visit the two ancient temples of Huating Temple and Taihua Temple, learn about the story of Master Xuyun, remember Nie Er's deeds, and then take the cable car up the mountain to enjoy the panoramic view of Dianchi Lake. There is also the Longmen Grottoes here, which you can visit while walking down the mountain. It was artificially carved on the cliff and is amazing.
Xishan is very large and it takes a lot of time to visit. However, as a very professional scenic spot, Xishan has planned a relatively time-saving route for tourists, sightseeing car → cable car → walking → battery car → sightseeing car. However, the cable car up the mountain is the kind without a roof. It is really embarrassing when it rains. You have to get wet for 20 minutes. Fortunately, it only rained a little in the second half of the ride. If you have enough time, you can also try to climb the whole way.
Xishan, located 15 kilometers west of Kunming City, is located on the west bank of Dianchi Lake. It is also known as Biji Mountain. It was the first of the eight scenic spots in southern Yunnan in the Yuan Dynasty and the first of the four famous mountains in Yunnan in the Ming Dynasty. The terminus of Metro Line 3 is Xishan Park.
The West Mountain has undulating peaks, lush forests, singing birds, flowing springs, and lush vegetation. Ancient temples such as Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, and Sanqing Pavilion are hidden in the depths of lush forests and bamboos. The most amazing is the Longmen Grottoes built in the Qing Dynasty on the cliffs of Luohan Mountain. Starting from Sanqing Pavilion in the north and ending at Datian Pavilion in the south, it has nine floors and eleven pavilions. It is the largest and most exquisite Taoist grottoes in Yunnan. There is a stone-carved passageway in it, which was hammered out of the cliffs by manpower with a hammer and a drill. There is a tunnel on the stone road, which is spiral and about the height of a person. The stone cave is like a window, overlooking the abyss, which is thrilling.
Looking out from the balcony, you can see the vast expanse of Dianchi Lake. The misty waves are vast and the water is surging. Zhao Heqing, a calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, said it well in his couplet:
The steps are difficult, so keep your feet firmly planted;
Being in the sky, it is better to keep a peaceful mind.
Originally, the package ticket for Xishan purchased online is very suitable for the elderly, children, and tourists with poor physical strength. It is not far from Xishan Park subway station, or you can take the scenic area sightseeing bus from the tourist center to the scenic area gate (Nie Er's Tomb), take the cable car to the top of the mountain (you can go to the Small Stone Forest), walk down from the top of the mountain, visit Longmen Grottoes and other attractions, and then take the scenic area battery car back to the scenic area gate (Nie Er's Tomb), and then take the sightseeing bus back to the tourist center. You can get off the bus and visit Huating Temple and continue to take the bus.
However, when we went there, the cable car was under maintenance from the end of November to before the Spring Festival in January 2020. Therefore, the cable car was changed to take an electric car from the gate of the scenic area to the gate of the Longmen Grottoes Scenic Area (the ticket price remains unchanged). In this way, you have to climb the mountain from the bottom to the top. Although the road is not long, the slope is steep and the road is narrow, so those who are traveling with the elderly and children should be careful.
You can get a free portable interpreter at the entrance of Longmen Grottoes with your ticket, and return it intact when you leave. We bought the tickets online, so we could get one by showing the QR code on our phone.
Next to the parking lot under Xishan Park subway station, there is a No. 94 bus that goes directly to Haigeng Park, but the bus is a small bus, so the waiting time is long when there are many people. You can also take the Dianchi Haigeng Cableway directly from Nie Er Tomb to the National Village and Haigeng Park.
The place is large, and it takes about a day to walk through the entire scenic area. There is a cable car going up to Dianchi Haigeng Park, and the round trip ticket is 70 yuan. To the Xishan Longmen Scenic Area, the ticket is not included, and you need to buy another ticket to enter the Longmen Scenic Area.
Xishan Mountain is located 15 kilometers west of Kunming City. It consists of Huating Mountain, Taihua Mountain, Luohan Mountain, etc. It stretches for more than 40 kilometers, with an altitude of 1,900 to 2,350 meters. According to legend, a phoenix stopped there in ancient times, but people who saw it did not recognize it and called it Biji Mountain, so it is also called Biji Mountain. Because it looks like a reclining Buddha, it is also called Reclining Buddha Mountain. Xishan Mountain is densely forested, lush with flowers and plants, quiet and beautiful, and has excellent scenery. In ancient times, it was known as the "best place in central Yunnan". Looking from the southeast of Kunming City, Xishan Mountain is like a beautiful woman lying on both sides of Dianchi Lake. Her head, chest, abdomen, and legs are clearly visible, and her black hair is floating in the waves of Dianchi Lake, which makes her look graceful and charming, so she is also called Sleeping Beauty.
I decided to go to Xishan on a whim and started from the old city center. Before leaving, I found a travel note on the China-TravelNote app that said it was "not too big". So even though I only had 3 hours left and I had to catch a plane, I set off with great confidence.
It didn't go well. I originally planned to take the cable car up the mountain from the Haigeng Dam, but when I got there, I found that the cable car was under maintenance, so I took an extra bus to the north gate to take the scenic bus up the mountain. I took the bus to the entrance of Longmen Scenic Area, but I didn't expect that there would be so many people queuing up for the cable car on an ordinary weekend. I queued for almost 40 minutes here. But in the end, I didn't dare to delay all the way, so I walked and ran, and took a quick look. It took me just over two hours to get out of the scenic area from the entrance. Fortunately, the entrance of the scenic area is connected to the subway station, which is also good.
In general, the greatest significance of Xishan is that it provides a commanding height to overlook Dianchi Lake and the city of Kunming in the distance. From this perspective, the slightly less perfect point is that the most central Longmen Scenic Area on Xishan, which also has the best viewing view, is too far to the south and a bit far from the old city of Kunming in the north. Fortunately, in recent years, the urban area of Kunming has developed more and more towards the south, which can provide more rich distant views. However, the Dianchi Lake in the foreground is still good, it is really a vast expanse of blue.
The Longmen Scenic Area itself is also very distinctive. Although it is also called a grotto, it is different from the famous Luoyang Longmen. It is more precipitous. The various small scenic spots in the entire Longmen Scenic Area can almost be said to be hanging on this section of the cliff. Especially the Longmen small scenic spot, which is a small gate connected by a plank road hanging on the middle of the mountain. With the white clouds above and the lake below as the background, walking here really feels like a fish leaping in the air and crossing the Dragon Gate.
But there are some shortcomings, mainly in terms of management, because the Longmen Scenic Area is basically a plank road and mountain road hanging on the mountain, which is very narrow, so one-way traffic should be completely restricted. Instead of encouraging most people to take the cable car to the top and walk from the top down through package tickets, and also allowing some people to take the sightseeing bus to the bottom of the scenic area and walk from the bottom up. This is still an ordinary weekend, and it is often stuck in the middle because of two-way traffic. Just imagine, not to mention the seven-day Golden Week, a casual three-day holiday can block this place to death.
But there is also a small point. The Longmen Scenic Area provides free automatic tour guides, which is good. The content of the tour guide is also well recorded, and there are explanations when you encounter scenic spots. When you are not in the explanation area, some ancient background music is played, which is very appropriate.
Due to time constraints this time, I didn’t have time to visit the Lingxu Pavilion on the top of the mountain, as well as several temples outside the Longmen Scenic Area. I will make up for it when I have the chance to go there again in the future.
The scenery is beautiful, but this scenic spot has some imperfections. I drove here with the navigation and searched for a long time but couldn't find where to buy tickets. Finally, the car was parked in a temporary parking lot on the side of the road, and followed a scalper's van to a small window on the mountain to buy tickets before entering. I couldn't tell the east, west, south and north when I got in. I walked in the mountain for a long time before I had some sense of direction. After that, I was still very happy to play. I was very impressed by the observation deck and Dragon Gate. It was a very unforgettable trip.
Metro Line 3 is directly accessible, and the scenery is beautiful. Climb up to Lingxu Pavilion to have a panoramic view of Dianchi Lake.
Standing on the West Hill, overlooking Dianchi Lake and Kunming city
Xishan Forest Park in autumn, golden leaves and bright sunshine...
I took a walk through the West Hill of Dianchi Lake, and this time I went to see the "pigeons". I was afraid of heights, so I climbed a few steps and gave up.
Climb up the West Hill and you can see the entire Dianchi Lake.
Kunming Xishan Scenic Area is a forest park with undulating peaks, lush trees and beautiful scenery.
You can see the panoramic view of Kunming City when you climb up, if the weather is good. Nie Er is buried here.
It's a bit of a rip-off! I took the Dianchi Lake cableway to eat something and visited Nie Er's tomb. For the rest, I had to buy tickets to climb the mountain. There was no place to climb the mountain. It was really boring!

It's ok, just take a cable car and climb the mountain. It's tiring and I don't think it's fun. 88 tickets.

From the other side, the mountain is not very high and you can see a small pavilion on the mountain. Because it is said to be the Breakup Mountain, I looked at it from a distance.
Looking from afar, Xishan Mountain looks like a sleeping beauty lying in the arms of Dianchi Lake. Her face, chest, abdomen, legs and hair hanging down into the water are all clearly visible, and she looks graceful and elegant.
I have written about two small islands near Taihu Lake. I may extract more parts from the travel notes http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/10264142.html.
I have always liked the two small islands in Taihu Lake. The fresh fruits and Taihu crabs are available all year round, which is a paradise for Suzhou people. When I accidentally discovered the sunset at Xishan, I happened to have a depression attack and felt groggy. I ran to Xishan to see Taihu Lake.
The typhoon passed by and the lake was so blue that I felt like I was in Istanbul.
It took me an hour and a half to climb to Longmen Scenic Area. I went into Longting Temple in the middle, but didn't go into Longmen. I took some photos of the Dianchi Lake at the pavilion. I didn't dare to take the cable car because I was afraid of heights. I took the bus down, which cost 12.5 yuan. I just sat at the window near the Dianchi Lake, which was a bit exciting. I don't know if it was because there was no sun and it rained for a while, but Jingshan was not that amazing. I originally wanted to see the Nie Er exhibition, but it happened to be Monday, so I didn't see it.
For us, Xishan is like the back garden of Kunming. It would be nice to take a walk around in our spare time, but we felt that the scenery in front of us was not as outstanding as the scenery of mountains and rivers. We just treated it as a sightseeing tour, and there were many tourists. However, standing on Xishan, we can see the scenery of Kunming city, and the green water and blue sky have a unique flavor. Maybe we were unlucky and did not see the beautiful scenery of the sunset over Xishan.
Looking at the peaks of Xishan Mountain from Kunming City, Xishan Mountain is like a beautiful woman lying on both sides of Dianchi Lake. So it is also called "Sleeping Beauty Mountain" or "Sleeping Buddha Mountain". There are many moving legends about Xishan Mountain. Take a leisurely look at the scenery along the way. The mountain is full of ancient trees, verdant pines and cypresses, and bushes. There are exotic flowers and fruits embellished from time to time, which is delightful. The first feeling after getting off the car is that there is plenty of oxygen and fresh air, which is very comfortable. Climbing up the steps, panting and taking a deep breath, the world is lush, like a big green dye vat. The sun penetrates the clouds, scatters thousands of golden lines, jumping between the green leaves, and the scenery is still quite beautiful. The peaks of Xishan Mountain are undulating, continuous and crisscrossed, with beautiful mountains and clear waters. I just don't know if there are immortals living in seclusion? The mountain is mainly pine, cypress, poplar, and acacia, and there are also many fruits such as chestnuts, red dates, walnuts, lotus persimmons, etc. There are many Buddhist temples on the mountain, as well as various ancient and mysterious legends. It is said that a farmer saw a phoenix on the mountain, so he carved it on the stone. It is said that as long as the college entrance examination students climb the Longmen Grottoes in Xishan and touch the top of the Dragon Gate, they can get good grades. The ropeway we took down the mountain allows us to enjoy the surrounding scenery. The green mountains are long and the green waters are far away. The clouds and mists are scattered and entangled. At this moment, you can forget the dust and just sit here quietly and wait. The lake view in the distance, the reflected mountains, and the white city, all the poetic and picturesque things are here.
It's OK to go on weekdays, but forget about it during the holidays. The mountain road near Longmen is narrow, and it will be very disappointing if there are too many people during the holidays. I went on a weekday, and there were not many people. I took the bus from Chamahua Street to Nie Er's Tomb and waited for the bus for 13 minutes. From Nie Er's Tomb, I took the "people in the open air" cable car to Longmen, and waited in line for the cable car for about 10 minutes. It took about 15 minutes to walk along the narrow mountain road to Longmen. It took about 30 minutes to walk and play to the battery car. Take the battery car to Nie Er's Tomb, and the battery car will leave when it is full. From Nie Er's Tomb to Chamahua Street, you have to take a bus and wait in line for the bus for about 20 minutes.
The first section of the cable car goes up to Xishan Mountain. It is a very special cable car, not enclosed, just like the wooden benches with backrests in the park that are suspended. But it is very stable and not very high. It is very suitable for taking pictures.
The road in Xishan is quite slippery. I think the stones have been worn smooth by people walking on them too much? Then there is a temple on the mountain. Hmm, it seems like a scam. They say they are giving you a lucky charm and then a master explains and emphasizes that you should not give money. Finally, the master suggests that you light a lamp to bless your family's health and career success.
However, Xishan Scenic Area has a free audio guide. You can get it for free when you enter the gate without a deposit, and just return it when you leave. When you walk to the corresponding scenic spot, the introduction will be automatically played, and the scenic spots you have visited will light up in red, which is very convenient. After coming down from Xishan, you can take the cable car directly to the ethnic village of Dianchi Lake. This cable car passes over Dianchi Lake.
If you have come from far away, don't go hiking; it's boring.
We took the cable car to see Dianchi Lake, but it was a bit of a rip-off. We thought we wouldn't have to pay anymore once we got up, but we still had to pay for tickets, so we decided not to go in.
Xishan Scenic Area is so beautiful that it cannot be described in words. I saw many stone tablets along the way. For someone like me who has been learning calligraphy since childhood, it is like finding a treasure and being intoxicated by it.
Take the subway to Gaoyao and get off at Xishan Park Station. It is recommended that you buy a package ticket (round trip sightseeing bus + Xishan cableway + Xishan ticket), which is quite cost-effective. Walking on the stone path in the park that has been rubbed by time
On one side are steep cliffs, on the other side are the infinite scenery of Kunming City and Dianchi Lake. Strolling along the narrow paths, and on the other side are the vast blue water and blue sky. The contradiction between the two gives you an indescribable feeling. Maybe you should take a walk on this winding path carved out by hammers and drills, listen to the sad and beautiful legends passed down from these mountains and rivers, and feel the intoxication of watching the spring city and the blue water from afar.

Because it looks like a reclining Buddha, it is also called Reclining Buddha Mountain. The title picture is a photo of Longmen of Xishan Mountain and Dianchi Lake in Kunming.
You can walk to Dianchi Lake from Xishan Mountain, and you can overlook the panoramic view of Kunming from Xishan Mountain. Xishan Mountain is very close to the Nationalities Park, and there are free electric shuttles.
Kunming West Mountain was formerly known as Biji Mountain. It starts from Biji Pass in the north and ends at Haikou in the south. It is the general name of Bijun Mountain, Huating Mountain, Taihua Mountain and Luohan Mountain. West Mountain has undulating mountains and faces Jinma Mountain across Dianchi Lake. It looks like a reclining Buddha, so it is also called Reclining Buddha Mountain. From a distance, West Mountain looks like a woman lying on the bank of Dianchi Lake, so it is called "Sleeping Beauty of West Mountain".
Xishan is really beautiful, highly recommended. If you go to Kunming, you must go to Xishan, and it is very convenient. The cable car in Xishan is very fun. It is surrounded by a few iron bars. It seems very exciting, but it actually moves very slowly. We went late and there were not many people. It was great to sit on the cable car to see the scenery and blow the wind.
Not bad, it's worth it for everyone to try! ! ! !
2016-12-1
The cable car in Xishan left the deepest impression on me. I regretted it as soon as I got on it, but it was too late. I was so scared that I didn't dare to open my eyes. I don't know if it has been improved in the past two years. It was too dangerous. Two people sat on the chairs and there were no safety measures on both sides.
I left home at 1am, arrived at the cable car station at 3:10am, and lined up for the cable car at almost 4am. When I got to the scenic area, I really felt what a scam it was. As soon as I entered the door, there were two people setting up a small table to sell tickets. They said they had to buy them. The 69 yuan included tickets + cable car + electric car + bus. There was a ticket check at the front, which made it seem like the official ticket seller. In fact, I almost believed it. Later, my dad found that many people went directly without staying here, so he told me, so we didn't buy it. The man was still shouting behind us that the ticket inspection was about to start, and we had to buy it. Later, when we walked in, we found that there were several tables like the one at the door, all with 69 sets of tickets. The route was planned for you. First, take the cable car up the mountain, then walk down the mountain, and then take the battery car back. We ate something casually (very expensive). It was already 4:10, and we were worried that we would be too late if we didn't take the cable car battery car. Later, my father and I both felt that walking was meaningful, so we only bought 32 scenic spot tickets, walked up the mountain, didn't rush, and walked slowly. We walked the so-called long battery car journey at normal speed in 12 minutes. Fortunately, we didn't buy a 10-yuan battery car ticket. The route marked on the map is very far, but in fact, each scenic spot is very close, so close that you can't imagine. The scenic spot has free interpreters. My one said two sentences and then it was silent. Later, I used my dad's, and others also said that it was silent. Along the way, the scenery of Dianchi Lake and Kunming City at the foot of the mountain was nice, and many people took photos. On the way, there was a temple called Zhenwu Temple, which said that tickets could be exchanged for amulets for free. My dad and I went in to exchange them, and then they said they could give us free explanations. We went into the room inside, and the master inside quickly gave me the routine explanations and precautions, and asked me to go out and explain to my dad. I wanted to stay, but he didn't let me, thinking that there was something important that I couldn't know. Later, I asked my dad, and he said that the master inside asked him to buy lanterns for 99 yuan, 199 or 299 yuan for blessings. It stands to reason that it is difficult for the elderly to refuse such things related to gods, so it's no wonder that they asked me to go out. Fortunately, my dad didn't bring cash, and he showed him his wallet to prove it. They couldn't pay with Alipay, so he was so smart. If it was me who stayed, I might have bought it. Haha, it's all routines and pits. I also hate those who smoke in the scenic area. It's not only dangerous, but also smells bad, especially when drilling those holes. The smoke is very obvious. On the way back, we picked up a pair of old grandparents who couldn't find the way. We sent them to the battery station. We continued walking. It was less than six o'clock when we got back to the entrance of the scenic spot. We continued to join the queue to wait for the bus. We got on the bus at about 6:30 and arrived at the destination at 6:50. The last bus home was at 7 o'clock. We hadn't found where the bus station was yet, so we planned to take the subway back. We found a snack street next to it called Chamahua Street, so we went in and strolled around, ate a bowl of braised rice noodles, watched a sugar man blowing performance, and then took the subway for 1 and a half hours to get to our accommodation. In general, there are many tricks in this attraction. Don't trust those who sell tickets. You must buy tickets at the official window, or you can book tickets online in advance. You must also bring some food and water. The total time required for the attraction is not long, and most of the time is spent on queuing and waiting.
Don't go, it's all tricks, the cable car is full, you have to queue for 3 hours, you can only walk up the mountain, the slope is 70°, the road is rotten, you can tolerate it without tickets and no maintenance, (there are so many mountains in Chongqing, no mountain is not higher than this one, the stone steps are at least flat, and there is no charge halfway!) The point is that when you are almost at the top, the tickets come, 40 yuan per person! What's the logic? Either start charging at the bottom of the mountain, repair the road, don't make it all wild, dirty and rotten, and finally charge, there is no mountain in Chongqing that is so rotten, the experience is too bad! It's all a scam! If tourism is such a scam, it really won't have a good reputation!
A good place. It is recommended to buy the Longmen ticket and the round-trip bus ticket. The cableway and the battery car are up to your needs. We took our two-and-a-half-year-old friend off the bus and started to go up the mountain from Caoting to the Little Stone Forest Lingxu Pavilion, passing Longhoumen to Longqianmen and walked back to the bus return boarding place. It was not difficult to walk down:) The fruits on the mountain stalls were not expensive and very good
There is another road from Lingxu Pavilion to Beauty Peak which is not shown on the map.
The scenery on the top of Xishan Mountain is very good, suitable for climbing and viewing, with a good view
It is recommended to take the cable car up and the bus down. We bought a round trip cable car ticket at first. It's a pity that we missed the scenic spots on the way down the mountain.
Due to time constraints, we went there a little late. There are many stone carvings on the mountain, and you can see Dianchi Lake. It would be better if we had more time. There was also some fog.
You can see Dianchi Lake when you climb to the top of the mountain. You can buy a package ticket, which is more convenient and relatively more cost-effective. It is also beautiful to take pictures while riding the cable car. You can touch the dragon gate when you reach the top of the mountain. The scenery is still great.
This can be called the scenery of the urban area. The transportation is very convenient. You can take the bus directly to it.
I once included Xishan once a week in my fitness plan~
Xishan is adjacent to Haigeng Park.
You can enjoy the view of Dianchi Lake from the mountain.
Well~ o(* ̄▽ ̄*)o,
Suddenly it became clear~
A day trip for leisure and vacation is OK.
You can also stay in a farmhouse on the mountain.
The food at the farmhouse is pretty good.
The prices are also very beautiful~
Recommended~~~
The sea water is emerald green and very beautiful. The cable car is very beautiful.
I spent 70 yuan to take the cable car up, but there was nothing to do. Other attractions required tickets. I felt ripped off. It was full of tricks. The scenic area inside was pitifully small. It only cost 20 or 30 yuan to enclose a yard. You still need to take the cable car to get up.
Tell me about my trip
At 7:50 in the morning, I set out from the city and rode a Mobike to the Dianchi Lake Cableway (which can be searched on Baidu Maps). I rode for 63 minutes, a total of 12.3 kilometers, went to the toilet, and bought tickets for the Dianchi Lake Cableway at 8:55. This cableway costs 70 yuan for a round trip, and there are four people in one cabin. After buying the ticket, I waited for five minutes for the cableway to open (open at 9 o'clock). The first wave of tourists went to the Xishan Scenic Area. This cableway is divided into two sections. The first section passes over the surface of Dianchi Lake and stops at the foot of Xishan. At this time, do not get off the cabin and continue to move forward. The second section goes from the foot of Xishan to the middle of the mountain. At this point, the Dianchi Lake Cableway is completed and you can get out. When you come back, you can return the same way.
After reaching the middle of the mountain, you need to buy tickets for the Xishan Scenic Area. There are three types of tickets: one is the scenic area ticket, which is required, the second is the Longmen Cableway ticket, and the third is the sightseeing bus ticket. I bought all three, took the Longmen Cableway to the top of the mountain (this cableway is an open-air one for two people), toured all the way down from the top of the mountain to the sightseeing bus boarding point, and took the sightseeing bus to the middle of the mountain.
In the scenic area, there are free tour guides and audio guides. However, the tour guides walked too fast, and I was urged to leave before I had time to take photos of many beautiful scenery. I suggest you don't rush, walk slowly, take photos slowly, the place is not big, and it takes about two hours to finish the tour. A tour guide comes every three to five minutes, so it doesn't matter who you follow.
I went down the mountain to the Dianchi Lake cableway at about 11:20, so this way of walking was not tiring and was suitable for a short tour while passing through Kunming.
Xishan Forest Park is located on the shore of Dianchi Lake, which is known as the "Pearl of the Plateau" in the western suburbs of Kunming. It is 15 kilometers away from the city. It starts from Biji Pass in the north and reaches Huiwan in the south. It consists of Biji Mountain, Huating Mountain, Taihua Mountain, Taiping Mountain, Luohan Mountain and other peaks. It rises from north to south. The highest peak is 2507.5 meters above sea level. The highest Luohan Mountain is about 620 meters above the surface of Dianchi Lake. Xishan Park is bordered by Dianchi Lake in the east and long slopes in the west, covering an area of about 889 hectares.
The introduction of the cableway and the dragon gate has been introduced in detail. Locals in Xishan often come here to climb the mountain in the morning, just like Guangzhou people often go to climb Baiyun Mountain to exercise. Before taking the open-air cable car, I bought a lot of small accessories for my friends in the attached shop. You can see Dianchi Lake and the ethnic village by taking the cable car here. The scenery on the top of the mountain is the most beautiful, but the Xishan scenic spot is not fully developed, so when we took the car up the mountain, some places were deserted. Because when I was making the strategy, in order to prevent being too tired, I took the cable car to the top of the mountain and then walked down. In addition, it is best to wear flat shoes when going to Xishan, otherwise it will be very tiring.
We took a taxi at around 8am and originally went to Yunnan Nationalities Village, but the driver suggested that we go to Xishan Forest Park first, because there was a performance at Yunnan Nationalities Village at 2:30pm, and it was too early to spend the whole morning there. So we went to Xishan Forest Park after listening to the driver's suggestion! When we arrived at the ticket hall, the package ticket cost 88 per person, and I saw 75 on China-TravelNote. The ticket seller said that I could give her cash for 75, so I gave her cash! 75 per person is quite worth it, including the bus, cableway, interpreter, sightseeing bus, and bus down the mountain. There were not many people at this time, and it was quite cool on the mountain. Overall, it was OK!
Xishan: According to legend, a phoenix stopped there in ancient times, but people who saw it did not recognize it and called it Biji. Therefore, it was called Biji Mountain in the Tang Dynasty. It is shaped like a reclining Buddha, so it is also called Reclining Buddha Mountain. Since the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, it has also been called Taihua Mountain. Because it is in the west of the city, people usually call it Xishan. Xishan has dense forests, flourishing flowers and plants, quiet and beautiful scenery, and excellent scenery. In ancient times, it was known as "the best place in central Yunnan". Looking from a distance in Kunming, Xishan is like a beautiful woman lying on both sides of Dianchi Lake. Her face, chest, abdomen, legs, and even her hair hanging down into the water are all clear and distinct, and she looks graceful and charming, so she is also called "Sleeping Beauty". From ancient times to the present, many celebrities and poets have marveled at it: "The sleeping Buddha is free in the clouds, and Dianchi Lake is as wide as the sea", "Thousands of cliffs and valleys compete for majesty, but there is no place that is mediocre".
Walking up and down the mountain. Longmen is the largest and most exquisite Taoist grotto in Yunnan. The "Longmen Scenic Spot" is characterized by "strange, unique, dangerous and secluded". It is the first of the many scenic spots in Kunming West Mountain. It enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. Tourists to Kunming must visit it. West Mountain is densely forested, lush with flowers and plants, quiet and beautiful, and has excellent scenery. In ancient times, it was known as "the best place in central Yunnan".
Take the subway and get off at Kunming Railway Station, exit from Exit A and take bus No. 51 to the end. There you can take the official bus up, which costs 25 yuan round trip. When you arrive at the entrance of the scenic spot, have fun. Everyone will receive an interpreter. Be sure to climb to the top of the mountain. Believe me, you will not be disappointed.
Xishan Scenic Area is still worth visiting, you can overlook Dianchi Lake
There are 11 national, provincial, municipal and district-level cultural relics protection sites in Xishan, all of which have extremely high sightseeing value and can be called a treasure house of Yunnan cultural relics.
Standing here at Longmen, looking down, you will feel like "standing on the top of the mountain, overlooking all the small mountains". You will be amazed at the wonders of nature, such as the Luohan Cliff that is as sharp as a knife and axe, and the creativity of human beings, such as the Datian Pavilion with delicate carvings and lifelike. I heard that there is a saying in Kunming that "If you don't go to Xishan, you won't go to Kunming, and if you don't go to Longmen, you will just go to Xishan in vain." "A first-class Longmen is worth a hundred times your worth" hehe~~ It's really worth coming to Kunming. In fact, what I want to say most is: our tour guide is absolutely stupid! Because our tour guide firmly believes that all the attractions in Yunnan are boring, and only shopping spots are the best places!
Very good, you must enter from the back door (I think it is the south gate).
The scenery is nice and worth a visit.
Protect the environment. There is a lot of garbage in the small rock forest on the top of the mountain.
Xishan Park is a must-see attraction, especially the Longmen Scenic Area inside. This is the best place to see Dianchi Lake and Kunming City. In fact, Xishan is very large and has several scenic spots. There are two main ways to play. One is to take a car to Gaoyao, enter Xishan, and travel all the way to Longmen. Then take the Longmen cable car down the mountain and the terminal can reach Dianchi Lake. This journey takes several hours. There is also a simple way to play, which is to take the cable car directly from Dianchi Lake to Xishan Longmen Scenic Area. After the tour, return to Dianchi Lake by the same route. There is a free tour bus at the entrance of Haigeng Park to pick up the cable car entrance. The round-trip cable car up the mountain costs 70 yuan. This is when you arrive at the Longmen Scenic Area of Xishan. You also need to buy a ticket + cable car to the top of the mountain + return sightseeing bus pass, a total of 77 yuan. Of course, you can also buy it separately, but it’s a bit tiring to walk by yourself. The journey is quite long.
I have climbed the highest peak three times. It is really beautiful from a distance.
I have been hesitating whether to buy the Xishan package. I can't see a particularly clear way to play, so the first thing I did after going down the mountain was to write a guide for everyone. I finally chose to see the Xishan Longmen, which requires a ticket. Figure 1 is a picture of the Xishan panorama taken from Gaoyao at the foot of Xishan, where I went to the visitor center to buy tickets or exchange electronic tickets. Since the Longmen ticket is 40, the cable car has different prices for one-way and round-trip, and the tourist bus and scenic area minibus all need to be paid separately, so I chose the open-traffic ticket, as shown in Figure 3. Figure 2 is the most convenient route to use the ticket. The check mark to the oval is the tourist bus that takes you from Gaoyao to the entrance of Longmen. You can take the cable car up to Xishan Mountain. You can see the beautiful Dianchi Lake here. It's great, but the cable car is a 💺 seated type (Figure 5). It's too exciting to sit on it. It's still windy today, and I feel miserable. Get off the cable car at the triangle and start to visit the various scenic spots in Longmen. There are free guides distributed at the entrance. Follow the directions and go down the mountain to visit. When you reach the square, change to a minibus, which is an electric car, and take the bus back to Gaoyao. I chose this less tiring way to play Xishan Mountain because I have to go to Dali tonight and can't walk with all my luggage.
My uncle drove me to the entrance of Xishan Forest Park and dropped me off. He told me that he would not accompany me up the mountain, so I took the cable car to the middle of the mountain by myself. I didn’t feel like going up any further because I didn’t feel like going up any further. It is said that there is a dragon gate on the top. You can search Baidu if you want to go there. There was a fortune teller halfway up the mountain. I sat next to him and listened to him tell fortunes for others. I laughed after listening (what I was actually thinking was, this charlatan, haha), and then I went down the mountain. After going down the mountain, I accidentally discovered a green meadow with a lake next to it. That was Dianchi Lake, so I started taking crazy selfies! ~ Then I went to Daguan Park, well, it’s just a park
The scenery is quite good, overlooking the whole city of Kunming, suitable for visiting in late November or early December
Xishan Forest Park is located 15 kilometers southwest of Kunming, near Dianchi Lake. It stretches for more than 40 kilometers and has an altitude of about 2,500 meters. Looking at the peaks of Xishan from a distance, it looks like a girl lying quietly on the shore of Dianchi Lake, so the locals also call it "Sleeping Beauty". Tourists come to Xishan to appreciate its scenic spots, which are composed of Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Nie Er's Tomb, Sanqing Pavilion and Longmen. It is recommended that tourists spend half a day hiking and enjoy different scenic spots along the way.
From a distance, Xishan looks like a woman lying on the shore of Dianchi Lake, so it is also known as the "Sleeping Beauty of Xishan". Ticket price notice. The discounted package for seniors aged 60-70 is only 68 yuan, including tickets, eco-friendly cars, and cable cars. Scenic spot tour map. In fact, Kunming Xishan Forest Park does not require tickets. The tickets purchased by tourists refer to the tickets for Longmen Scenic Area. This Longmen seems not grand enough. This Longmen Grottoes is not the same Longmen Grottoes! Don't confuse it with the authentic Longmen Grottoes in Henan. See fog but not clouds. Cliff cave path beside Dianchi Lake. Longmen enters the clouds and smiles. I don't know which Sanqing set it is? There are caves and sky overlooking Dianchi Lake from Xishan. Today is mainly for rest. But I also spent 2 hours visiting the famous Kunming Daguan Tower in Daguan Park. It is famous because of the 100-character long couplet by Sun Ran, a scholar in the Qing Dynasty, at the door.
Oh my god, I'm not feeling well. I was sweating all over after walking 1/5 of the way. I sat down to rest and watched the locals running while eating cucumbers. By the way, Dian Lake is already smelly.
Going up to the top of the mountain was a bit scary, but it was really beautiful.
There are not many scenic spots on Xishan Mountain. There is a Longmen scenic spot, which sounds super domineering, but it turns out to be a small gate less than two meters high and one person wide. Everyone crowded around to take pictures, which was also very drunk.
Xishan Forest Park is really big. If you want to climb it by yourself, it is recommended to prepare a day. Of course, if you drive directly to the back door, it will not take long. There is also a small stone forest group on the top of Xishan Mountain. The scale is not very large. You can climb it at will. I don’t know if there is anyone supervising it now. You can walk around inside without following the route. You can overlook Dianchi Lake and watch the sunrise from Xishan Mountain! It is said to be very shocking, but I haven’t seen it!
Xishan Mountain is located 15 kilometers west of Kunming City. It consists of Huating Mountain, Taihua Mountain, Luohan Mountain, etc. It has a continuous range of peaks for more than 40 kilometers, with an altitude of 1,900 to 2,350 meters. According to legend, a phoenix stopped there in ancient times, but people who saw it did not recognize it and called it Biji Mountain, so it is also called Biji Mountain. Because it looks like a reclining Buddha, it is also called Reclining Buddha. Xishan Mountain is located on the west bank of Dianchi Lake, also known as Biji Mountain. It was the first of the "Eight Scenic Spots in Southern Yunnan" in the Yuan Dynasty. It was the top of the "Four Famous Mountains in Yunnan" in the Ming Dynasty. It was praised as "Biji Autumn Color" in the "Six Scenic Spots of Dianyang"; "Night Moon over Dianchi Lake" in the "Eight Scenic Spots of Kunming" in the Qing Dynasty was the night moon over Xishan Mountain in Dianchi Lake; and in modern times, it is "Sleeping Beauty Mountain, Longmen Flying" in the "Sixteen Scenic Spots of Kunming". Looking at the peaks of Xishan Mountain from a distance, it looks like a huge sleeping Buddha, and also like a beautiful sleeping beauty with her legs bent on the bank of Dianchi Lake, like a sleeping beauty with her long black hair hanging down to the sea. Therefore, Xishan is called "Reclining Buddha Mountain" and "Sleeping Beauty Mountain".
Huating Temple, Taihua Temple, Sanqing Pavilion, Nie Er's Tomb and Magnolia Garden in Xishan are hidden deep in lush forests and bamboo groves. Longmen Grottoes are embedded in the thousand-foot cliffs. Thousands of acres of small stone forests are clustered on the peak of Luohan Mountain. The magnificent scenery of lakes and mountains and the rich and profound thousand-year history and culture make Xishan unique with mysterious charm, attracting tourists from home and abroad.
Xishan, the symbol of Kunming’s “golden lake and mountains”, is where all the majesty, danger, strangeness, elegance and beauty can be found!
