Besides the famous caves, the picturesque scenery of the mountains and rivers here is also breathtaking. My daughter wore the Tang suit she bought at the Ziyang Street intersection the day before, blending in with the beautiful Jiangnan mountain scenery. It was quite a sight.

The caves, large and small, in the scenic area often have narrow entrances, but once you step inside, you'll feel a sense of openness. Inside Guanxi Cave, not only is the Tao Te Ching inscribed on the high wall above the entrance, but various Taoist allusions are also depicted and carved around the inner walls, giving you an overwhelming sense of Taoist culture.

A winding bridge emblazoned with the Bagua pattern spans a clear spring. Crossing the bridge and climbing the stone steps to the top of the cave, I gazed down and marveled at its imposing grandeur, vastness, and vastness. Could this have truly been carved out by human effort?

Wenling's Changyu Cave Heaven is a magical world steeped in the remnants of quarrying. A myriad of caves, each a breathtaking display of natural beauty, intertwine stone culture and natural scenery. A play of light and shadow, each step a breathtaking scene, invites you to explore the stories of time buried deep within the rock formations and experience the unique blend of past and present.

This is the characteristic of stone, it should be a man-made scenic spot. For people who often live in the countryside, they are used to seeing stones, so this is not surprising.

By Little Pig Man |

It looks like a mountain that has been hollowed out. It is made of limestone, so it turns around and around. It has the meaning of Huanglong Cave. Of course, its area is very large.

Shocking, shocking, shocking, you can drive in the scenic area

The parking lot at the Changyu Baxianyan Scenic Area is full of cars, and even if you park on the road, someone will force you to pay. The residents near the scenic area come out like bandits, besieging, insulting, and polluting tourists.

This place is very nice to have two giant pandas. The entrance fee is 30 yuan. The Wenzhou Zoo is only 30 yuan.

Overall price: 5 stars. Scenery: 5 stars. Service: 5 stars.

It's OK, but not particularly interesting. In fact, it is a hole left by the historical quarrying of slate. The quarrying technology here was very mature in the Song Dynasty, and it was called the "Hometown of Slate."

By Why So Serious |

When I was little, I had to go through the mountains every week after school.

The parking lot charges are like bandits, charging random fees.

The Changyu Dongtianyi scenic area encompasses numerous smaller attractions, each with its own ticket, ranging from 30 to 50 yuan. Visiting the entire area would take a full day and require considerable stamina and perseverance. The panoramic view ticket is 120 yuan. Given the scattered nature of the various attractions within the scenic area, it's possible to enter by car. The attractions include Shuangmen Dong, Shuangmen Grottoes, Jingming Dong, Guanxi Dong, Shuiyun Dong, and the Panda Pavilion. Guanxi Dong is the most iconic, but if you're more physically demanding, you can choose to visit just that one, which takes 1-2 hours. Even someone like me, who bought a panoramic view ticket and insisted on visiting all of them despite being exhausted, realized I'd missed two caves. Perhaps due to the lack of crowds, many signage was unclear, and we couldn't find anyone to ask for directions.

By Everything depends on fate |

There are 5 scenic spots in Changyu Dongtian Scenic Area. You can buy a combined ticket. I chose one scenic spot, Guanxidong, to visit. It costs 15 yuan per person to enter the main scenic area. There is a note for self-driving tours. You can drive directly into the main scenic area and do not park in the parking lot at the door. This will save a lot of energy!

It's not bad, it's cool and not sunny, it's very suitable for summer and it's not tiring to climb a little mountain

In ancient times, people quarried stones here. After several generations, the mountain was hollowed out to form a scene of interconnected caves. It takes some physical strength to climb it.

I'm missing a relatively clean restaurant. All the dishes have no prices. The waiter initially said a 20-yuan dish at Teppanyaki, but the bill was 58 yuan. The restaurant is rip-offs. The security guard at the scenic area and the owner of a private parking garage colluded, saying there were no parking spaces at the scenic area and asking us to park nearby for 20 yuan. I rushed in and parked at the scenic area, but parking was only 10 yuan. My comfort was that the security guard at the hotel entrance was quite polite and courteous. He even held an umbrella for me after I parked my car that afternoon. I won't go there again next time.

Coming to Changyu Dongtian was a pleasant surprise; it was truly magnificent. But for those driving, beware: the speed limit on the first-class highway into Wenling City is bizarre, constantly switching between 60, 90, and 80 km/h, each about 200 meters apart. The density of speed cameras is quite high, and driving a few dozen kilometers feels more tiring than running hundreds.

2018.2 The scenic spot combined ticket includes 5 attractions. Except for the panda house, the other attractions are still worth visiting.

The scenic area is the site of stone quarrying by generations of people since the Northern and Southern Dynasties. There are regular music performances in Guanxidong, and there are many Guanyin statues enshrined on the top of the mountain through a small path on the side of the mountain.

Shuangmen Grottoes and Shuiyun Cave are on the opposite mountain, where there is a larger statue of Guanyin and a Taoist temple.

The next morning, accompanied by sunrise, we arrived at Changyu Dongtian, a national 4A-level scenic spot. We arrived around 9:00 AM. The air in late autumn was dry and chilly, and a deep breath was refreshing. Changyu Dongtian is located on the mountain, and you can actually walk up from the scenic area entrance. Who would have thought that the temperature would drop so quickly and without mercy? So we drove to the scenic area entrance.

Changyu Dongtian is located in Wenling City, Zhejiang Province. This mountain range, a remnant of the North Yandang Mountains, rises approximately 150 meters above sea level. This scenic area, a site of stone culture, features quarrying sites dating back to the Northern and Southern Dynasties. Over the centuries, 28 cave complexes and 1,314 caves have been excavated, forming a diverse corridor of rock walls. The area also boasts Asia's only rock-cut concert hall, which, though man-made, appears to have been created naturally.

Last night I searched for "Changyu Dongtian" on Baidu

Absolutely amazed by the pictures!

Approved! I look better in person than in the photo, perfect for taking photos

Simple fresh style, or surreal postmodern style

It was excavated nearly two thousand years ago.

Changyu Dongtian now looks more like an alien habitat.

Well, if it is a sunny day, you can definitely see the Jesus light in the cave~~

By boomshakalaka🤗 |

Arriving at Changyu Cave Heaven, hidden deep within the mountains are pools, stone bridges, Buddhist altars, floating wells, and stone tablets. It's like stepping back into the hidden retreats of heroes from ancient martial arts films like "The Legend of Chusen" and "Gu Jian Qi Tan." The deep canyon and its peculiarly shaped rock faces create a dreamlike beauty. Looking up from the pool at the bottom, you can see a "Twilight Love" scene: the rocks at the cave entrance resemble an elderly man and woman gazing at each other.

At the top of the mountain stands a stone statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva in eighteen forms. Many tourists turn back and descend the mountain after reaching this point. However, further down, there are steep stairs leading down. From here, you can see the ancient temple on the opposite mountain and a larger Guanyin statue, looming in the rain and fog.

Therefore, beautiful scenery is often found in remote places, and life cannot be without dangerous peaks.

This is a purely artificially developed tourist attraction, relying only on the gimmick of the quarrying site. However, the effect of artificial development is very good, so the ticket price is so expensive.

By Leaf |

It's not very big, and the original things inside are well preserved. It's very cool even in the summer.

By Taiyang |

This place is just average, mainly Shi Wenhua and some Taoist culture.

The Changyu Caves, constructed from granite slabs artificially mined since the Northern and Southern Dynasties, have a history of only 1,500 years. A total of 28 cave groups and 1,314 caves have been carved out. Later transformed into a stone cultural park, the park features attractions such as the Eight Immortals Cave, Shuangmen Cave, Shuangmen Grottoes, Shuiyun Cave, Guanxi Cave, and the Panda Pavilion. The latter five sites are connected and face each other from the two mountains of the Eight Immortals Cave.

My friends and I planned a trip to Changyu Dongtian in Wenling on Sunday. Due to time constraints, we only visited Shuangmen Dong and Guanxi Dong, skipping Baxianyan. Not many people were there that day, so we bought our tickets and entered Shuangmen Dong first. The tunnels are wide at the bottom and narrow at the top, resembling two inverted funnels. There's a pavilion on the top, and the light filtering down through them is beautiful. We then walked slowly inside, and upon seeing the Nine-Curve Pearl Bridge, we arrived at Guanxi Dong. Inside, there's a Maitreya Stone Buddha and a Huabiao (a stele). Further inside, we find the Cave Concert Hall. This nearly 2,000-square-meter hall can accommodate over 700 people to enjoy the spectacular performances of a folk music band. Seeing the time was 9:40, with 20 minutes until the concert, we ascended the stone steps to explore the scenic area above. About five minutes later, we came upon the Dongtian Treasure Bowl, 1.01 meters tall and 2.71 meters in diameter. Inside, there's a stone turtle, along with coins thrown in by many tourists. There's a "Guinness World Record" sign next to it. Continuing up the circular stone steps, we saw water-dripping stone coins, which many people touch; the guide said they bring good luck. There's also an ancient camphor tree from the Han Dynasty, though I'm not sure if it's genuine. Next to it is the Hanging Well, a well with two-meter-high walls, yet the water is 38 meters below. Looking down from the well's mouth, the water is crystal clear, giving it the appearance of a suspended well. I heard that in 2006, a female TV host accidentally fell into the well while filming, but luckily there was a safety net below. Continuing up, we crossed the Guanxin Bridge and reached the cave's ceiling, where the view suddenly opened up. The view of the Eight Immortals Rock Scenic Area opposite became even clearer, and the cave itself seemed incredibly deep. There aren't many attractions at the top, just a Guanyin Wall with many Guanyin statues to worship. We slowly descended and returned to the cave's concert hall. By then, a performance had begun, and we found seats in the front few rows to listen. The ethereal sound of the guzheng playing in the cave was quite pleasant.

PS: The Yandong Concert usually organizes a folk music group to play traditional folk instruments such as the guzheng, pipa, erhu, and chimes. Three performances are held every day at 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.

The toilet is very clean, an artificial hole, and generally speaking, it is neither good nor bad. Then, standing at the ticket gate and looking at the opposite hill, the view is very beautiful!

By A little bit of Central Plains |

The caves in the Custer terrain are also very nice, and the lighting effects are great.

By Shuishui |

It was a place where no one went, and there were only a few tourists.

By FFFFFF |

Although Changyu Dongtian is an artificial scenic spot left behind due to mining, the scenic area is relatively large. Walking slowly inside and looking at various grottoes is still a unique experience. There is also a panda house in the scenic area where children can see pandas.

By Cn_Xiaojie |

It feels pretty good. The air is good in the early morning and the small concert in the cave is quite unique.

By Big Head Brother |

Each cave has its own unique scenery, which is magnificent, varied and distinctive.

Located in Wenling City on the eastern Zhejiang coast, this scenic area has long been known as the "Hometown of Slate." Beginning in the Jin Dynasty, over 1,600 years of artificial excavation have resulted in 16 cave clusters and 366 caves. These caves are nested within caves, overlapping caves, and each cave offers its own unique scenery, creating a magnificent and diverse landscape that is unique to China.

In March 1993, it was approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government as a provincial-level scenic spot. Dongtian, with its stone caves as its main framework, is interspersed with ancient trees, clear lakes, dangerous cliffs, cliff carvings, interesting rocks, calligraphy by famous people, secluded temples, stone bridges, ancient archways, winding mountain roads, and scattered villages, forming a beautiful landscape painting.

By Rabbit Girl |

The scenery of the scenic spots is very beautiful, and we walked around every one of them.

It's a nice place. I've been there twice and it's worth recommending.

By Begging for food |

You can drive directly to the ticket office of Changyu Dongtian. It feels quite far to walk in from Shuangmendong.

The scenic area is not small. Go up the stairs and then down the stairs to reach the concert hall.

Each actor can play at least two instruments, which is quite eye-opening.

By Naxi Missi |

It's okay to walk around and have a look. It's suitable for short trips, preferably with family.

By Mo Junhe |

The first time I went to Changyu Dongtian was when I was in primary school. I thought it was incredible at that time. Human wisdom was indeed well demonstrated. It was a bit chilly in the cave, so I recommend going there in summer.

Can you believe there are giant pandas in Changyu Dongtian? I don’t think this kind of scenic spot is particularly unique, but it’s okay.

It is nice to go to the beach in the hot summer, but the sea here is yellow and there are too many people.

Changyu Dongtian is a fairly mature scenic spot, and it can be regarded as a relatively good tourist attraction in Taizhou. Because Taizhou city itself does not have many outstanding attractions, it is still worth a visit.

By Sakura Castle Master |

I didn't have much expectation before I went there, but after visiting, I think this attraction is actually quite good. It is quite large and if you want to visit it all, you can spend a whole day there.

By Do you have no clothes? |

The scenic spot created by the renovation of the quarrying ruins is similar to the cave but very different, and is worth a visit.

Although the cave is warm in winter and cool in summer, it is still recommended to go in early summer :)

By Do you have no clothes? |

The scenic area is formed by the large rock warehouse left behind by the ancients after quarrying. It is 4A and charges an entrance fee. Cars can drive all the way into the scenic area and park at the entrance of the scenic area.

I visited Changyu Dongtian Caves when I was in high school. My biggest impression was the high entrance fee. Combo tickets are cheaper, but the basic attractions are pretty much the same. They're all ruins left by ancient stone carving. There's even a panda enclosure, which I felt really sorry for the pandas, but the environment isn't very pleasant. The entrance fee was expensive, and it wasn't very interesting. The area consists of four major scenic areas: Baxianyan, Shuangmendong, Chongguo Temple, and Yeshan. This is a stone cultural landscape formed by artificial quarrying of slate since the Southern and Northern Dynasties. Over 1,500 years, 28 cave groups and 1,314 caves have been carved.

The Changyu Dongtian Scenic Area is a national scenic spot and part of the eastern section of the Yandangshan World Geopark. Developed on the site of a quarry, the caves are magnificent, their steep walls and hollows awe-inspiring. Guanxi Cave boasts a cave concert hall with a Guanyin statue on top; Shuiyun Cave houses a cave museum; and Shuangmen Caves boasts a statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva. These are the core scenic areas and are accessible by car, as walking alone can be tiring.

By Han Yu Carol.F |

Actually, Changyu Dongtian is not a natural landscape. All the caves are artificially excavated, but they blend in well with the natural scenery. It is cool and interesting.

By Sun through the empty mountain |

Although it is amazing that such a huge pit was dug in the mountain, it is not necessary to travel thousands of miles to visit it. Unless you are on a business trip nearby and want to take a look, or if you are visiting here and have extra time, you can just take a look.

By chess |

It's really comfortable in the cave. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom. It feels like a fairyland. It's a place to escape the summer heat and cool down. It's a pity that I can't stay there all the time.

By Turning wood |

It's that kind of cave. I've been there twice, and the first time was better. Although it was more fully developed when I went there the second time, the signs of artificiality were also more serious. It's worth going.

By Little Qing Ting° |

Not many people go there, and it's far away. It's okay to drive there, but the style is average. It's very cool in the summer!

By Mocha-MOKA |

It is a man-made cave. It is very cool to go to the cave in summer.

By Daizyloving |

I went there when I was a freshman. It was a bit cold inside, but there was a concert, which was great.

Although the scenic area is artificially carved, it seems to be natural. The most worth seeing is Guanxi Cave, which is the most majestic cave in the entire scenic area. The most famous thing about Guanxi Cave is the "Dongtian Treasure Bowl", which is listed in the Guinness World Records as the world's largest treasure bowl.

By wheat ears |

Artificially excavated stone caves are the essence of stone culture. Experience the ancient people's tenacious will to conquer nature.

By Xie Banxianer |

Changyu Dongtian is a major tourist attraction. It consists of many artificial caves dug by the ancestors of Wenling, and there is also a mountain. The overall feeling is good, but climbing the mountain in that kind of weather is too torturous.

By Sword in the Clouds |

I went there mid-week in November. There were very few people, but the tickets were very expensive. The artificiality was particularly shocking, and I highly recommend it.
