China Academy of Art is the first national higher art school, founded in 1928 and one of the eight major art academies.
The school has a beautiful environment. During the G20, Peng Liyuan invited first ladies from various countries to visit the school, which made it famous.
The China Academy of Art Art Museum and the China Academy of Art Shadow Art Museum are open to visitors.

The school's scenery and environment are pretty good. The atmosphere is also very good and comfortable. I went to see what seemed to be an exhibition of their graduates' works.
You need your ID card to enter the school. The campus is quiet and beautiful.
It's a rip off. It's not open during school holidays. We went in and they kicked us out.
Internet celebrity spots like the China Academy of Art will still give you constant surprises, and all itineraries are free. Although it is a bit far, it is worth spending an afternoon there.
The Academy of Fine Arts is located on Nanshan Road near the West Lake. When I arrived at the entrance of the Academy of Fine Arts, I found that the Academy seemed to be closed on holidays. I only saw a gate. Fortunately, I encountered an art exhibition. The common people met the highbrows. I didn't know what they were talking about. Some works are very interesting, and some works are hard to get the point that the author wants to express without looking at the names.
The whole campus exudes a strong artistic atmosphere. My daughter said that the buildings do not look Chinese in style, but are somewhat like Japanese buildings. I think so too.
The roof design does not have traditional Chinese tiles and brackets, but it still retains some characteristics of Chinese architecture.
The small river in the campus has a unique charm with the reflections of buildings and bridges.
The eaves are made of tiles, which is a technique of traditional Chinese architecture.
Professional colleges like the China Academy of Art do have an indescribable beauty, but they lack the convenience of a comprehensive university. Public facilities such as supermarkets and restaurants are somewhat inadequate.
Many people don't know that China Academy of Art has two campuses, one is the Nanshan Campus at No. 218 Nanshan Road, Xihu District (Baidu search usually pushes the address of this campus), and the other is the Xiangshan Campus at No. 352 Xiangshan Road, Zhuantang Street. The Internet celebrity wall and crooked tree we discussed online are referring to the Xiangshan Campus.
Nanshan Campus is the old campus of the school. It is located on the edge of West Lake. It is relatively smaller than the campus and has limited opening to the public (not open to the public during holidays, winter and summer vacations). The famous campus of the Academy of Fine Arts is actually Xiangshan Campus, which is larger and open on holidays. It is just far from the city center, and there is only bus to get there (no direct subway). Those who want to go there can check the route in advance. We took advantage of the National Day holiday this time to avoid the crowds in the city center, so we chose the Xiangshan Campus of the Academy of Fine Arts, which is a certain distance from the city center. However, we only walked around and didn't go into many exhibitions. It took nearly 3.5 hours. I had been wanting to find the internet-famous wall and the crooked tree, but I was so tired, and I couldn’t find a commercial street to have lunch, so I lost interest later... At the last minute, I wanted to give it another try (I would be unwilling to come back without seeing it), so I walked to the other side of the campus, and saw many unique buildings along the way. The most important thing was that I finally found the internet-famous wall and the crooked tree I had been longing for... Only then did I realize: if we had not been attracted to the right by the stone statues on the right side of the campus when we first entered the gate, but had walked to the left, then we would have encountered the internet-famous wall earlier.
This trip to the Xiangshan campus of the Academy of Fine Arts was very rewarding. The architectural styles are very different but integrated, and there are also various exhibition halls (we didn't visit the exhibition halls carefully because we were concerned about the Internet celebrity wall) that display some history and the works of teachers and students. It is rare to find such a secluded art campus in the crowded Hangzhou, and it is worth the trip.
As an art student, it is as important to me as Peking University and Tsinghua University. Art schools always have a strong artistic atmosphere. No matter where in this school, no matter how remote the landscape is, it has its own unique artistic atmosphere. The gray-green, red and blue pictures, the bright but not strong color contrast, make this place one of the locations for portrait photography. Even the huge ancient camphor tree outside the wall of the design museum was a factor that Siza considered when designing. The staff of the design museum said that this tree needs many people to hug it. It is said that it was planted here a long time ago, so Siza kept it here. The green trees and red walls look very harmonious and lively from a distance.
The most beautiful art academy in Hangzhou is the China Academy of Art.
We have been to many college campuses to take photos during our travels. Some of them have modern designs, and some have a futuristic feel, but this is the first time we have seen such a beautiful campus.
There is also a hotel inside the campus. Although no one lives there, you can still take photos there.
The rooftop of the hotel is perfect for photographing the sunset, and it is also the most beautiful place in the entire Academy of Fine Arts.
Go up the stairs of the hotel directly to the rooftop, and you can enjoy the whole college and the sunset in the distance.
In fact, I was afraid that they would not let me in when I went in, but there was no obstruction. After I went in, I saw green everywhere, but there were very few people. It was not until I was halfway there that I realized that the children were on summer vacation. No wonder there were not many people. I wanted to see the scenes in "Running Man", but the first step was to the sculpture and the library. I liked the spacious feel of the school the most, and the classrooms felt like I was watching an exhibition. There was a beautiful library inside, but it was sealed due to the holiday. The tiles used on the houses are the retro black tiles with Jiangnan characteristics. They should look beautiful in photos when wearing light-colored clothes. The colors are simple and not abrupt.
I went there in the winter of 2013. The building is unique and next to the West Lake. It would be nice to go in and take a look if you have time.
The Nanshan Campus of China Academy of Art is the headquarters of China Academy of Art. It is right next to the West Lake. If you like, you can go in and slowly experience the charm of art.
The famous China Academy of Art. It is not easy to put up a sign with the Chinese character "国" in it in Hangzhou. But I still like to call it Hangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
See the travel notes "Remembering Hangzhou - Beauty in the South of the Yangtze River" http://www.mafengwo.cn/i/6744236.html
Then go to Nanshan Road and you will come across the China Academy of Art, the first national higher art school founded in 1928 and one of the eight major art academies.
The predecessor of China Academy of Art was the National Academy of Arts. In 1928, Mr. Cai Yuanpei, then president of the university, chose the West Lake in Hangzhou and founded the first comprehensive national higher art institution, the National Academy of Arts, opening a new chapter in China's higher art education.
In 2017, it was selected as a national “Double First-Class” project and a world-class discipline construction university.
The China Academy of Art spans the cities of Hangzhou and Shanghai, with three major campuses: Nanshan, Xiangshan and Zhangjiang. The Nanshan campus was built in 2003, which has achieved a modern interpretation of the Ink Art Academy.
I hope to learn from Suzhou University in the future, completely ban 👏🏻Xiamen University, Wuhan University, Sichuan University, etc., quickly correct it, it looks like a school, don't be open [] smiley face]
I passed by here and didn't go in, but I thought the gate had a very nice design.

The Academy of Fine Arts is located on Nanshan Road next to the West Lake. Although the campus is relatively small, the design is very beautiful. I went there in winter and didn’t get to take pictures of the lush green scenery, but I did get to see some golden ginkgo trees.
This is my favorite school in China. The architectural style is very beautiful.
It is the only university in China that has a national key discipline in fine arts, and the only Chinese art university whose academic qualifications are recognized by UNESCO.
The China Boxing Academy is located on the edge of the West Lake, near Nanshan Road. I just passed by this time and was unable to go in for a visit due to time constraints. I will definitely come next time if I have the chance.
The movement curve of the design building itself echoes the ups and downs of the hills, forming a visual link. The corridors and hallways weave between the inside and outside of the building like snakes, as if strengthening the building's breathing. The visual effect is very significant!
Photographed at the art museum next to the Academy of Fine Arts. The Academy of Fine Arts is small but has a good location.
Campus style, how can you not like it? There are some nice exhibits.
Recently, Gome is only open on weekdays, and is closed on weekends and holidays. I finally came to Hangzhou and wanted to go to Gome, but I was not allowed in. I could only take pictures at the door and go to the art gallery next to it. Opposite is the West Lake. If you have enough time, you can take a walk. There are many restaurants nearby. I recommend West Lake Spring
There are many collections in the Academy of Fine Arts, as well as many excellent works by students.
Walking along West Lake Avenue, you will see this art school, China Academy of Art. The whole building is very modern, and the exterior walls of the building are covered with various green plants. From every angle, you can see a piece of green, which makes the campus full of vitality. On the way back, I bought Dingsheng cake, which still tasted familiar, and the old man was still selling it. This wonderful feeling is indescribable.
A very artistic school, the building is very modern and the environment is very beautiful
A strong artistic atmosphere~Art Palace~I only regret that I didn't work hard when I was young~
The art gallery at the entrance is still under renovation. We looked through the glass wall and saw all kinds of books inside. There are many creative shops on the road, and shopping there is one of the reasons why we wandered around the area all morning. We passed by the Pan Tianshou Memorial Hall, but didn't go in. Dangdangdangdang~ The point is, we have arrived~ Our first stop, the China Academy of Art. I have to say, it has a strong artistic atmosphere~ I like it so much~ The artistic atmosphere cannot be photographed~ Everyone, go and experience it for yourself
The China Academy of Art is the birthplace of China's earliest art revolutionary group, the only national key discipline of fine arts in China, and the only Chinese art university recognized by UNESCO.
After touring most of the West Lake, we had to go back to return the bicycles. The two of us rode back slowly~~~
We passed by the China Academy of Art on the way, and just looking at the gate I felt it was very unusual.
The school is not big and can be visited in just over ten minutes. But the design is very compact. In a place like West Lake where every inch of land is valuable, we must make the best use of resources. The campus is very quiet, and there is an artistic atmosphere in the tranquility.
這個美院感覺挺一般的,還是廈門大學好看,畢竟廈門大學似乎是中國第一漂亮的大學
I highly recommend it to young artists and people related to art. It is a good place to absorb inspiration.
I took a photo when I passed by, and I felt that the police would not let me in.
The China Academy of Art is located on Nanshan Road in the city, right next to the West Lake, and there is a direct bus to it. When I went there, the school was in class, so I didn't take a close look around.
There is a legend about the carp. Students who are preparing to enter art academy will stand by the pond. If a carp swims towards you, it means you can get in. If it doesn't, there is no hope.
I don't believe it and tried it. I even used bait to lure the fish. My friend is a student of the Academy of Fine Arts but not in this campus. As soon as he stood there, the fish swam over. 😅😅😅
The architecture of the Academy of Fine Arts at Xiangshan Campus is indeed unique! The egrets on the mountain and the barbecue in the farmhouse! It's so big
I didn't feel very good. The school was quite small and there wasn't much to see. I just walked around the entrance and left.
Since I went there once in the spring, I have been attracted by the scenery there... It is really beautiful! Walking around, it is not noisy, very comfortable and cozy... I went there a few times recently, just in time for the graduation exhibition, which was very interesting... The photos were taken during the spring visit.
The campus is very beautiful, it is worthy of being one of the best art colleges in the country. How great it would be to study here
As a person who has always wanted to paint since primary school, but never had a painting-related job when he grew up, the art world was out of reach. I felt that I was not qualified to enter the art world, so I took a picture of him from a distance.
This is the dream of many art students. I sneaked in through the side door. There was no one in the school. I should come in and take a look if I can.
The China Academy of Art has several campuses. There is one near Liulangwenying and one in Zhuantang, both of which are very beautiful.
The destination was set at China Academy of Art, but I didn't read the road book clearly at the beginning. I entered "China Academy of Art" in Baidu Maps and set off happily. As a result, I arrived at the Nanshan Campus of China Academy of Art. I walked around and found that I was not on the right road. There were not many people on this campus. It should be the time for students to go back to school. I looked at the road book carefully and realized that I went to the wrong campus. Embarrassing~ The campus is small, but the scenery is still very stylish
A place full of literary and artistic atmosphere. The garden is not big, and you can explore small artistic conceptions everywhere, including the sculpture department workshop, the exhibition hall at the entrance, the Nanshan Bookstore on the right, the Pan Tianshou Memorial Hall opposite the back door, and so on.
Formerly known as the National Academy of Arts, it was founded in 1928 by the outstanding educator Cai Yuanpei. It is a truly old school. It mainly trains art talents, and the school's entrance is very distinctive. I walked around inside and it was a very quiet and impressive place.
The buildings of art schools are quite distinctive and well designed, and are worth seeing.
I just went to the Nanshan Road campus. The school was very quiet. Unlike ordinary universities, students skipping classes were everywhere. The campus was very quiet during class time.
I never knew there was a China Academy of Art in Hangzhou before. I suddenly discovered it when I visited here that day. The first impression it gave was that it was full of artistic atmosphere. I am in an engineering college in Huazhong. After being used to seeing buildings that don’t have much artistic atmosphere, I had a very comfortable feeling when I saw the Academy of Art for the first time.
As expected of an art academy, the architecture of the entire school is very attractive and has a sense of place.
This campus is the modeling department of the China Academy of Art. The school is closed on holidays, but there are security guards at the door, so it is best not to visit on holidays.
I saw the China Academy of Art and took my nephew to experience the culture of the academy. As a result, I was a little disappointed. As the person who designed this school, he was successful. I heard that the Xiangshan campus is even better.
But as an art academy, it failed. I thought art academies were like Peking University, old and worn, not like the fiberglass and steel bars of today.
From elementary school to college, almost all the schools I have been in have been used for other purposes, so that the people who come after me no longer have the courage to go back to school, because it is no longer their own school. Schools all over the world will only set up some branches, but will never give the original school to others as a school or other use. When alumni return to school, they will feel the feeling of the past. But we are not like that. Including students and parents, they all want to live in new houses, but never think about renovating old houses and making them a tourist attraction or a culture. No wonder Pan Shiyi donated money to Harvard when the Chinese people only had money in their eyes. More Chinese people will do the same, because the place where he donated money is where he invested his feelings and grew up. In China, who knows where his feelings are placed? He probably only cares about the money in his pocket.
I live next door! But I can't get in! I had to take a picture of the door!
Compared to the bustle of the West Lake, the art museum seemed very deserted, and the second floor was not open during the Spring Festival.
A school with a very literary atmosphere and a very advantageous geographical location. It is right by the West Lake, with many famous car exhibition halls next to it, and there are cafes and youth hostels opposite. It is only a three-minute walk to the West Lake, where you can take a boat tour of the West Lake.
The campus is very quiet, and the modern buildings complement each other among the lush trees. In autumn, you can see yellow ginkgo trees all over the campus, which is very pleasant.
Art schools do have an artistic atmosphere. When we visited, we saw students shooting short films on campus and a small band practicing the piano. It felt very comfortable.
It is a place worth visiting~
It is very comfortable to live there, and there are beautiful scenery everywhere you go. The architecture is a typical combination of Chinese and Western styles, which is very interesting. The Academy of Fine Arts always has its unique charm no matter what season you come. The most famous building inside is a bit like a maze. When I went there, I saw several very handsome models taking pictures. Now you can also see the graduation exhibition of students. It's great.
Seeing these buildings, I can only describe them in one word: incomprehensible but impressive! I really like this long passage outside the building. Several buildings are of this style.
The school is located in a forest-like area, and it is so beautiful and unique, and the architecture is so creative. But it is very tiring to climb around.
The campus is not big, but the architecture is quite unique. There is also an exhibition during graduation.
The China Academy of Art is near a scenic spot in West Lake. The campus is not big, but there are many green plants. It feels a little different from ordinary universities. It is highly recommended to visit!
I used to chase my dreams when I was young, and I just wanted to fly forward! Haha, although I didn’t go to school there, I still went to visit it in the end
I passed by it while cycling, but didn't go in because it was raining and there were bicycles around.
The China Academy of Art is the first comprehensive national higher art institution in China with a strong academic atmosphere!
Following the instructions of a kind security guard, I entered the campus of the Academy of Fine Arts, which is not open to the public on Saturdays, from the stairs of a nearby restaurant. Various curved roads, teaching buildings, and art galleries are full of artistic atmosphere.
I saw it by chance when I was riding a bicycle around West Lake. It was very tall and grand, but it was a pity that I didn't go in to see it.
China Academy of Art, this is the dream of many art students. I went to two campuses of China Academy of Art. The new campus by the West Lake is so small. The old campus in Xiangshan is so beautiful. Whether it is the school’s buildings or anything else, it has a strong sense of design and art. I also met freshmen in military training~~Yeah
The transportation is very convenient, it is right next to the West Lake, the campus is beautiful and very artistic. I regret not studying hard enough to get here.
I personally like to visit colleges and universities, especially art academies! So this time when I went to Hangzhou, I planned to visit the China Academy of Art. The China Academy of Art has two campuses, the old and new, both of which are said to be very beautiful. The old campus is right by the West Lake. I remember when I was in college, I watched an art film called "Post-80s", which was filmed in the school!
When I rushed there with my friend early in the morning, we were stopped by the security guard, who said we were not allowed to enter on weekends, and were only allowed to enter from Monday to Friday (of course, students of the school were not restricted). I was really depressed... I guess I can only go there next time...
Although the campus is not big, it is beautiful and green, and it also happens to be the venue for the students' graduation exhibition.
China Academy of Art is located on the shore of West Lake in Hangzhou. Although you can't see the West Lake, it is very close. Art academies seem to be carefully designed by architects, so the buildings are coherent and very humane. Designer Wang Shu is the dean of the architecture department of China Academy of Art. The whole school is a blue brick-style building, from the teaching area to the living area, all of which are connected and serve as corridors.
Coming to the China Academy of Art, a place I had longed to visit, I found it is truly an art paradise and the campus is very beautifully designed.
It is indeed a fine arts college. The design of the teaching building is very unique and worth going in to see. Although it is small, it is very exquisite.
The China Academy of Art is opposite the youth hostel where we stayed. The walls are covered with ivy. It is a very romantic school. The big electronic screen next to it is showing the stories of alumni and their alma mater. It is very warm.
I took a quick look around the China Academy of Art, but unfortunately their graduation design exhibition hadn’t started yet when I went there, it was actually on the next day!!
The China Academy of Art (CAA) is China's first comprehensive national art institution of higher learning. It was jointly established by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province. It is also the earliest institution of higher learning to implement design, the birthplace of China's earliest art revolutionary group, the only place in China where a national key discipline of fine arts is located, one of the first batch of national "Double First-Class" world-class discipline construction universities, a key construction university in Zhejiang Province, selected for the national high-level university construction program for government-sponsored graduate students, a Chinese government scholarship institution for international students, one of the first national demonstration universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform, and one of the first demonstration bases for studying abroad in China by the Ministry of Education.
