Dinghu Peak

鼎湖峰

Dinghu Peak is the core of the Xiandu Scenic Area and the symbol of Xiandu. Its shape resembles a bamboo shoot piercing the sky, earning it the nickname "The First Peak in the World" and "The First Bamboo Shoot in the World."
At the summit, amidst the verdant pines and cypresses, a pool of water forms, never drying up. Legend has it that this is where the Yellow Emperor, the ancestor of the Chinese nation, forged a cauldron and refined elixir before ascending to heaven on a red dragon.
Bai Juyi, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, once used the lines "The Yellow Emperor's flags went away and never returned, a piece of cloud and a solitary rock stood alone and tall. Sometimes the wind stirred up waves in Dinghu Lake, scattering them like raindrops on a sunny day" to describe this wonder of the world.

Dinghu Peak is known as "The First Peak in the World" and "The Best Bamboo Shoot in the World." It is famous because the Yellow Emperor once refined elixirs nearby. The beauty of Dinghu Peak changes depending on your location. The scenery changes from front to back, left to right, and the scenery changes endlessly throughout the seasons.

Looking at the billion-year-old stalagmites from the upper reaches of Haoxi River, Dinghu Peak looks like a bamboo shoot in spring, like a magic needle guarding the green waters and green mountains.

Looking up from the releasing pond beneath the Yellow Emperor Temple, Dinghu Peak stands like a thumbs-up, praised as the "Praise of China!" the "Praise of Zhejiang!" the "Praise of Lishui!" Lush mountains and clear waters are invaluable assets, and Xiandu embodies the poetic and picturesque Zhejiang. The towering Dinghu Peak, like a thumbs-up from Mother Earth, celebrates the peace, prosperity, and prosperity of China.

Sharp Sword Asking the Sky: Looking up from the foot of Dinghu Peak, the majestic Dinghu Peak is like a sharp sword piercing the sky. I guess this is the bloodiness of Dinghu Peak. All things that stand tall and upright must have the hard power to resist evil spirits.

The Reappearance of Huangdi: Looking out from the Canglong Canyon on the back of Dinghu Peak, Dinghu Peak looks like an old man with beard and hair, with a dignified look and extraordinary bearing, just like Huangdi himself.

Dinghu Peak is the business card of Xiandu Scenic Area, and it can even be said to be the business card of Jinyun. It is the first time I have seen such an independent and towering stalagmite. The stream village in front of the mountain is particularly charming in the south of the Yangtze River. In the most common words, it is as beautiful as a picture.

The Yellow Emperor Temple is in the valley next to it. There is a performance of more than ten minutes every morning, which is not very interesting. The buildings of the Yellow Emperor Temple are all newly built and lack historical charm. However, many overseas Chinese gather for the annual public memorial ceremony, which is very spectacular.

Many film crews come here to shoot movies, such as Yu Zheng's "Swordsman", "Chinese Paladin" from more than ten years ago, and the latest "The Journey of Flower", all of which have Dinghu Peak as their background.

Xiandu Scenic Area is distributed on both sides of Lianxi River, which is about 10 kilometers long from east to west. It consists of tourist areas such as Gufu Rock, Xiaochibi, Niweng Cave, Dinghu Peak, and Furong Gorge. Dinghu Peak, shaped like a bamboo shoot in spring, pierces the sky and is 170.8 meters high.

By Playing around |

Dinghu Peak Scenic Area is a place where you can look at the big stone pillar from a different angle. There are some far-fetched fake and empty buildings at the foot of the mountain. You can take a cable car to the top of the mountain next to the stone pillar for a distant view. Unfortunately, the weather was bad on the day I went there, so I couldn't see much. After going down the mountain, you can walk to Zhutan Mountain Scenic Area.

"Jinyun" is the name of Emperor Xuanyuan Huangdi. The stone pillar in the picture is called "Dinghu Peak," said to be the largest single stone pillar in the world. This is where Huangdi ascended to heaven on a dragon. Since then, the phrase "dragon leaves Dinghu" has been used to refer to the emperor's death.

Dinghu Peak is the landmark of Xiandu Scenic Area. There is a stalagmite in front of the peak. It is a pillar rising from the ground and surrounded by lakes. It can be called a geological wonder in the Jiangnan area.

At the foot of Dinghu Peak, there is a pavilion called Yangzhi Pavilion. The scenery is just as its name suggests. After passing Yangzhi Pavilion, you will arrive at the foot of Dinghu Peak.

You can choose to walk up the 999 steps to the top, or take the cable car; the top of the mountain is an excellent viewpoint for viewing stalagmites.

Dinghu Peak is the centerpiece of the Xiandu Scenic Area in Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province. Resembling a bamboo shoot piercing the sky, it stands 170.8 meters tall, with a summit area of 710 square meters and a base area of 2,787 square meters. It has been dubbed "the world's highest peak" and "the world's finest bamboo shoot." Amidst verdant pines and cypresses at the summit, water forms a pond that never runs dry. The great Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi once described this wonder of the world with the lines, "The Yellow Emperor's banners depart, never to return; a single cloud and a solitary rock tower tall. Sometimes the wind stirs up the waves of Dinghu Lake, scattering them like raindrops on a sunny day."

It is said that Emperor Xuanyuan used a cauldron to refine elixir at the summit. The cauldron weighed a thousand pounds and pressed the peak into a concave shape. When it rained, water accumulated and formed a lake - Dinghu. After Emperor Xuanyuan ascended to heaven, this place was named Dinghu Peak.

Along the Hao Creek in front of Dinghu Peak, the pastoral scenery is like a paradise, which you can enjoy quietly.

Dinghu Peak in the mist and rain looks like an ink painting!

By Wind like water |

It's just a photo of a peak, there's nothing much to see. It's even more so on a sunny day. You can't capture the feeling with a mobile phone.

By Venerable Mahaprajnaparamita |

This area was once a filming location for Hu Jun's versions of "The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" and "The Journey of Flower." The scenery is truly breathtaking. Maple leaves and ginkgo trees add a vibrant hue to the lake and mountains. In the morning mist, we began our journey to Xiandu Dinghu Peak, the city's main attraction. It was uncrowded, and the scenery was breathtaking.

By LL-Club |

My friend who came with me said that the last time they came, it was not a holiday, and they were alone. They had a great time. Looking at her photos, there was fog. When it rains, fog will appear. Many places in Jiangnan look like ink paintings when it rains. The ticket is a bit expensive at 60, and the cable car ticket is 40. It is contracted to a private attraction.

By Autumn Wind Purple Frost |

It's been the filming location for countless movies and TV series. If there's one word to describe this place, it's celestial. In the early morning, Dinghu Peak is shrouded in mist, resembling a fairyland. An old farmer walks across the bridge, pulling his oxen, followed by a woman picking vegetables and two adorable yellow dogs. This scene is so moving, I can only sigh, "This view is only found in heaven."

By Run to the horizon |

It's a very quiet place, it feels good, and I'm deeply impressed by this abrupt big rock.

By Blanca |

Dinghu Peak Scenic Area is like a park. After walking two steps and crossing a stone river, you will arrive at the bottom of a big rock. Looking up, you will find it is so small. It is only 170 meters high. There is nothing there. Take two photos and return the same way. It took only 40 minutes.

By Walking Flowers |

Dinghu Peak is the core of the scenic area, and the pillar stone is a must-see attraction. It is known as "the No. 1 Peak in the World" and "the No. 1 Bamboo Shoot in the World". All the scenic areas of Dinghu Peak are built around it, and its charm can be appreciated from different angles.

By round ball |

We didn't buy tickets to enter Dingfeng Lake because it's said that the best place to take photos of Dingfeng Lake is Zhutan Mountain, and there's no ticket required. Dingfeng Lake is a filming location for many movies and TV series. I just looked at it familiar, but I couldn't remember which movies or TV series I had seen this scene in.

By Ruier |

Take the scenic area bus to Dinghu Peak. The scenic area bus is a circular route, and you can get off at the stop of the scenic area you want to go to, but most people go to Dinghu Peak, after all, this attraction costs money!

By Aunt Mi fights hard! |

I personally think it is the most worthwhile attraction in Xiandu Scenic Area. It is also the filming location of "The Journey of Flower". How can I put it ~ I just love it.

The cable car can take you up the mountain, but not to the highest point, so I don't think it makes much sense. The key point is that the cable car is not at the Zhutan Mountain scenic spot.

By small meat buns |

The only ticket selling point in Jinyun is at Dinghu Peak, known as the "No. 1 Bamboo Shoot in the World". No tickets are required to visit other small attractions. Friendly reminder, if you want to take the most beautiful photos of Dinghu Peak, you should go to Zhutan Mountain. The beautiful scenery is like a small family. Although it is not as spectacular as the terraced fields, it has its own unique charm.

By nature1642 |

There are actually a series of stalagmites around Dinghu Peak, but Dinghu Peak is the largest one among them.

It is best not to take the cable car both up and down the mountain, as you will miss many good angles for taking photos.

By Taoyuan Valley Master |

I went to the ticket office to buy tickets. It happened to be China Tourism Day today, so they had a half-price discount, 50 yuan per person. That was great!

Dinghu Peak is the centerpiece of the Xiandu Scenic Area. It boasts a 170-meter-tall bamboo shoot, earning it the nickname "The Greatest Peak in the World" and "The Greatest Bamboo Shoot in the World." Legend has it that Emperor Huangdi used a cauldron to refine elixir at the summit, creating a lake. This peak, shaped like a bamboo shoot, reaches the sky, and no one has ever reached its summit. Several wooden bridges connect the two banks, and tourists often take photos in the middle.

This is lush green mountains and clear waters! It truly feels like a fairyland. No wonder the crew filmed "The Taoist Goes Down the Mountain" here; it truly is a paradise on earth! It's a shame it's rainy and cloudy today; a clear day with blue skies and white clouds would be breathtaking! Up close, you can see a hole in the middle, slightly below the large bamboo shoot. Next to it, a small shoot, commonly known as Tongzi Peak, reaches right up to the shoot's navel.

Looking back after the tour, what a beautiful scenery!

By Lead a snail |

The temperature in Xiandu has been unusually high these days, said to be 37 degrees, but it feels okay, it's not hot under the shade of the trees.

There is a cable car at Dinghu Peak that can take you up to see the puddle, but after referring to online guides and accumulated experience, I gave up the idea.

The scenery is beautiful, it's worth a visit~~~~~~~~~~

Without a car, and with Spring Festival approaching, travel was difficult. We chose Dinghu Peak, the signature attraction of Xiandu Scenic Area, as our main destination. The sun came out after noon, and it was quite warm. The scenic area has three single-plank bridges, but without handrails, which made me feel a bit dizzy. We chose to hike to the top, where the scenery was breathtaking, with bamboo forests and plum blossoms everywhere, offering a different view from each vantage point. There wasn't the legendary lake at the top, just a pavilion, but the scenery along the way was enough to keep us entertained.

By Remember every year |

The scenery is nice. It was the filming location for 200 TV series such as "The Journey of Flower". It is also very convenient to go there after the Jinyun High-speed Railway is opened. However, since 2017, the scenic area has been under construction to create a 5A. There are repairs everywhere, and construction vehicles are coming in and out. There is dust everywhere. There are not many restaurants around the scenic area. They are all farmhouses, and the prices are not cheap. I will wait until all the 5A facilities are completed before going there.

By Prajnaparamita |

I went there during the National Day holiday. The scenery was really ordinary. The whole scenic area revolves around a stone pillar. The stream at the foot of the mountain is more interesting. I don't think it is worthy of 4A. In fact, Zhutan Mountain next door is the best place to view Dinghu Peak. You can play in the water, there are stone bridges, streams, and large fields of flowers, and you don't have to climb mountains. According to local people, the two scenic areas used to be connected, but for some reason they were artificially separated, so you have to walk around to get there. Fortunately, it takes 20 minutes to get there (Zhutan Mountain is free).

By Jiangnan |

The park is currently undergoing major renovations, so the area around it is a bit cluttered with construction materials. The good thing is that parking is free lately. The scenic area isn't very large; you take the cable car up and walk down. At 365 meters above sea level, the climb was a bit tiring on a 36-degree day. The scenery is okay, but rather monotonous, and not worth the 60 yuan entrance fee. There's a stream at the bottom of the mountain, which the kids loved.

By Lele |

The way up and down Dinghu Peak is the same, with a total of 999 steps, which is not too tiring to climb.

By Consumption |

There is a spring under the rocks, but there are fewer people there. It is a good place to wash your hands and get rid of the dust.

After sunrise at Dinghu Peak, the world has fully awakened, generously splashing with clear and bright colors. The lush green and deep blue are truly mesmerizing!

Dinghu Peak is surprisingly easy to visit. After about half an hour of climbing and working up a sweat, you're almost at the top (it's such a short distance, so I skipped the cable car; I love exercising when I travel). While the view is exactly the same as in the photos, the view from up high is truly breathtaking, refreshing, and refreshing. A cool breeze caresses my face, and a thousand hills and valleys seem to surge through my chest.

There is a refreshing spring water on the top. Everyone lined up to drink water. It took a long time to take a photo. What kind of magic does it have? I also scooped a sip. It was not astringent, very good.

After going down the mountain, I wandered around the newly built temple for a while, and then went to play by the clear water.

Dinghu Peak Scenic Area is very beautiful. We walked up the mountain to take in the beautiful scenery below.

The Dinghu Peak Scenic Area isn't huge, but it has a lot to offer! It's also the heart of the Xiandu Scenic Area, boasting bamboo rafts, the Yellow Emperor's Temple, the Pianyun Pavilion, and even a cable car. There are many locust trees here, and since I visited during the Qingming Festival, the leaves were small and dense, so there weren't many tourists, making it a very peaceful and tranquil area.

By fox |

The scenery is just average, and the 60 yuan ticket is a bit expensive. If you have time, you can buy a combined ticket and enter the park again.

By Xinyu |

The stone is very special and worth seeing, but the ticket is a bit expensive.

By Lush Road |

I went to Dinghu Peak with a tour group, so I didn't visit the first two points. A few points: 1. The scenery is quite nice. Dinghu Peak, with its towering tower, is quite unique and not often seen elsewhere, making it a great photo spot. 2. The venue is Taoist, and you'll see several Taoist priests. You can ring a bell to pray for peace, and you can just throw your money in a box. The fortune-telling Taoist priests are expensive, and will force you to pray for a relationship for 199 yuan. 3. The local specialties are expensive, with shiitake mushrooms costing 50 yuan per pound, about 10 yuan more than outside. The food at the farmhouse is quite poor, expensive and not very tasty. I recommend eating at a large restaurant in the city. Overall, the scenery is perfect, but the surrounding facilities are a minus.

By small fish |

The scenery is still good. It would be better if there were no bamboo rafts.

By xbat |

It's a very ordinary scenic spot. Once you go there, you won't go there a second time.

Dinghu Peak Scenic Area is the core attraction of Xiandu Scenic Area. Its shape, resembling a bamboo shoot, earns it the nickname "the best bamboo shoot in the world." The scenic area's main natural attractions include Dinghu Peak and Jiuqu Lianxi (I personally enjoy the small stone bridge over the stream and the relaxing bamboo raft rides), as well as cultural attractions such as the Huangdi Temple (one of the filming locations for "The Journey of Flower"). Dinghu Peak is too steep for tourists to climb, but professional climbers have reached the summit, and there seems to be a small lake there. A sightseeing cable car takes you to the summit of the nearby Buxu Mountain, over 300 meters high, for a 25 yuan one-way ride. Since we had 1.5 hours to explore, we decided to take the cable car up Buxu Mountain. The cable car is small, and for two people, it felt a bit shaky. Perhaps it was just a psychological effect, but the scenery from the cable car was fantastic, offering excellent vantage points for photographing cliffs and peaks. The expansive view from the summit was truly stunning. The distant village, nestled amidst the mountains and river, seemed so small, and it broadened our horizons. At the top of the mountain stands a pavilion called Buxu Pavilion, where many tourists rest. Nearby is an inscription by the famous patriotic general Zhang Jizhong: "Looking out over the mountains and rivers from Dinghu Lake, the scenery is magnificent; if you wish to escape the mundane world, lift your feet and ascend to heaven." The walk down the mountain (about 20 minutes, the steps are very steep, so be careful of falls on rainy days) offers even better views, allowing you to admire the scenic area from multiple angles.

By Dudu Mama |

There's a lake right at the entrance of Dinghu Peak Scenic Area, and the water is incredibly clear. The gentleness of Jiangnan immediately comes to mind. I especially love the stone-paved bridge over there; it feels so warm (though I'm not sure why).

Dinghu Peak is generally good! If you want to take the best angle, you should go to Zhutan Mountain.

Lishui's signature attraction, the big rock is over 170 meters high and is known as the No. 1 bamboo shoot in China. It seems a bit exaggerated, but it is worth a visit.

Dinghu Peak is the center of the entire Xiandu Scenic Area. Although it is not high, it is named after the immortals.

By Naxi Missi |

It's not bad. It's a great sense of accomplishment to climb up the mountain. I recommend wearing sports shoes. The mountain road is very steep, so be careful when climbing up the mountain. Of course, you can also take the cable car.

By Ada |

When it comes to scenic spots in Lishui, the most famous one is undoubtedly Jinyun Xiandu Scenic Area;

When talking about scenic spots in Xiandu, Dinghu Peak is undoubtedly the most outstanding one.

Speaking of the TV series and movies filmed here, I can't even count them all with my fingers and toes. The Taoist Goes Down the Mountain, The Journey of Flower, Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, Child of Yellowstone, and Peerless Twins are just a few examples. There's a dedicated film and television museum next to Furong Gorge that displays stills from the films and TV series that were filmed there.

The lush green mountains and clear waters are so refreshing that you can't help but linger, as if you're right in the middle of a movie or TV series. The scenery you only see in movies is right next to you, and the word "stunning" is not enough to describe it!

By 皜[hào] |

The scenery of the scenic area is very good. There is also a Xuanyuan Temple at the foot of the mountain. I took the cable car up the mountain. The slope was a bit shaky and it felt a bit dangerous. I walked down the mountain by myself. The road was a bit shaky and difficult to walk, but fortunately the mountain is not high.

By grace |

It’s nice to climb to the iconic top and overlook Jinyun.

By Rachel |

I went to see the filming location of The Journey of Flower, and it was pretty good! Please grant me the immortality of Eternal Love! Haha

I bought a combined scenic area ticket. Online purchases are more affordable. Dinghu Peak, the centerpiece of the Xiandu Scenic Area, is also the most expensive attraction when purchased individually, but the price tag is justified! I chose to go in the afternoon, so there were very few people. We were the only ones riding the cable car the entire way up. Dinghu Peak is the centerpiece of the core scenic area, unique and beautiful, and has appeared in many TV shows and movies, such as "The Taoist Descends the Mountain." While the movies weren't great, seeing this peak still felt very familiar.

Dinghu Peak is not climbable; its stalagmite-like peak is too steep. However, you can climb the nearby Buxu Mountain. At 365 meters, it's not very high. However, the mountain path is very steep, with steps in some places only wide enough for half a foot. I recommend taking the cable car. There was originally a volcanic crater to see on the way down. Yes, Buxu Mountain is actually an extinct volcano. However, the crater suddenly closed last year for unknown reasons, losing its only bright spot, so I'm not interested in the mountain trail anymore. You can either take the cable car or climb Buxu Mountain on your own. The round-trip cable car costs 40 yuan, so I definitely took it. The picture above shows the view from the cable car.

About Buxu Mountain:

Buxu Mountain is the mountain behind Dinghu Peak. Running east-west, it borders Gaotianping in the east, Shisunlou in the west, Xiaguankeng in the south, and Banyan in the north, reaching an elevation of 364 meters. (Buxu is a Taoist term referring to the ritual movement of Taoist priests chanting while walking on the altar during rituals.) Its western end was originally integrated with Dinghu Peak, forming in the Late Cretaceous. Later, through erosion by flowing water and weathering (vertical joints), it gradually collapsed and separated, forming numerous pointed stone pillars. Dinghu Peak is the highest and largest of these peaks, hence the name Buxu Mountain. The western end is commonly known as Shisunlou and Shicelou.

This is a very famous scenic spot, well worth a visit. You can take beautiful photos, especially the reflections.

By Flower Little Fatty |

To walk in such a place, the weather must not be too hot, otherwise people will easily get irritable. Fortunately, it rained a little today, and the scenery was beautiful. The cable car we took was a semi-transparent one, without glass windows. I was a little afraid of heights and didn't dare to move. But the view from the top was really great. I chose to walk down, but the steps were high, narrow and steep, and my calves were playing the pipa all the way down.

By Drama Queen |

Dinghu Peak is indeed worthy of its reputation. It is so beautiful... It is worth a visit. Today I walked from the bottom of the mountain to the top. I am great, right?

By gw.315 |

I originally planned to stay in Nanlong Village, but when I asked around, I found that there were no farmhouses to stay in. I didn't expect to use the tent I had left at home, so I had no choice but to continue to the next attraction, Xiandu Dinghu Peak, the filming location of the new version of The Smiling, Proud Wanderer. Fortunately, it got dark late, and Dinghu Peak was not far from Nanlong.

Dinghu Peak is the core of the entire scenic area and the symbol of Xiandu. It has a bit of a fairyland feel, but it is very cold at high altitudes. The nearby Fairy Cave has a cave and a pool of fairy water, with drops of fairy water continuously dripping from the top of the cave.

You can climb to the top of the mountain for a panoramic view of Jinyun, over 300 meters high. The guidebook had predicted the ascent would be quite steep, so we took the cable car, which cost 25 one-way and 40 round-trip. The cable car is small, only able to accommodate two adults, and it has no windows. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but once you're in it, you're already shivering. Some people already bought round-trip tickets, but after taking the ride up, we didn't dare take the return trip back down, so we just climbed down in silence.

I just realized that the classic shooting location of Dinghu Peak is not in the scenic area in front of Dinghu Peak, but on the embankment of the stream at the village entrance one or two kilometers upstream along the stream.

The core of the Xiandu Scenic Area is the 170.8-meter-high Dinghu Peak, which stands tall like a bamboo shoot on the lakeside. It is known as the "No. 1 Bamboo Shoot in the World." The best vantage point for viewing Dinghu Peak is from the Xiandi Causeway. Standing at the foot of Dinghu Peak, you'd feel like you're inside the peak, unable to see or capture its full view.

The ticket was booked online for 48/person, and the scenic spot was 60 yuan.

The boat trip price is 360 yuan, and if there are more people, it is 90 yuan per person.

The entrance fee to the scenic spot is 60 yuan. I went there early, and the staff were not at work yet, so I could enter and exit freely, saving the entrance fee. Dinghu Peak is the core of the entire Xiandu Scenic Area and the symbol of Xiandu.
