[Dongzha] is irreplaceable. Dongzha is divided into two sections, both inside and outside the scenic area, and both are worth seeing. After seeing Dongzha during the day, I regretted not coming to take a closer look at Xizha during the day. I am angry at those who say that one hour is enough for Dongzha! You know, it took me more than an hour to visit Mu Xin alone. There are Huiyuan Pawnshop (ticket inspection to enter), ancient theater, and Xiuzhenguan Square in this section outside the scenic area of ​​Dongzha. You need to check your ticket to enter the scenic area from the former residence of Mao Dun. When I went there, the former residence of Mao Dun was under maintenance and was not open to visitors. I like the Mu Xin Memorial Hall, Jiangnan Hundred Beds Hall, Folk Customs Hall, and Woodcarving Hall in Dongzha very much.

Shadow play is performed every ten minutes from 9:10 to 11:20 and from 13:00 to 16:30. The shadow play house is located in Hanlindi, Dongzha.

Huagu Opera is performed every half an hour from 10:00 to 11:30 on the ancient stage in Xiuzhen Temple Square.

A black-sailed boat floated by in the distance. Without any mist or rain, it had a very Jiangnan charm.

Some of the old houses opposite have been converted into homestays, and some have been turned into small shops. Wuzhen also has its own lifestyle. Or those who have leisure and elegance may plant one or two plants. Against the backdrop of the old houses and water, there is a touch of different color.

Because there are many waters and bridges in the water town, I stand on the bridge to enjoy the scenery and see a black-sailed boat floating slowly in the distance. It feels like I am watching the scenery on the bridge, and the people watching the scenery are watching me from the building.

Some residents have high thresholds, some kind old ladies invite us to see handicrafts. Some owners even put a pot of pennywort at the door. The green one is particularly beautiful.

The house is not as dilapidated as we imagined. There are wooden floors and various wooden products inside. In fact, even if the house looks dilapidated, as long as it is well decorated and comfortable to live in, life is still beautiful.

Some attractions in Dongzha are outside the scenic area. At first we thought that the tickets could not be redeemed. Later we found that they could be redeemed, so we went to see the attractions outside the scenic area. There were fewer people in the attractions outside the scenic area, perhaps after the tour groups, only individual tourists were left.

Dongzha is much smaller than Xizha. We only stayed in Dongzha for about two hours. The dyeing workshop and winery are only for tourists to visit. Most of the scenes in "A Time to Live and Let Die" were shot in Dongzha, which gave us an immersive feeling. There was a boat boxing performance during the performance. Although it was only for viewing, it was not easy for actors in their forties or fifties to perform in winter.

East Gate is different from West Gate. There are still some people living in East Gate, mostly elderly people. East Gate was protected earlier than West Gate, is more primitive, and is not so brightly lit, so tourists are not allowed to enter after 5:30 pm.

Before 8 a.m., the shops are not open yet. The breakfast stalls are all opened by residents living in Dongzha. They will close after 8 a.m.

People in Wuzhen live by the water, with the river in front and the street behind. Every household is kept clean and tidy. However, compared with the protection of Xizha, the river in Dongzha is not as clean as Xizha, but Dongzha has more life atmosphere.

From the guide, I know that Wuzhen is divided into Dongzha and Xizha scenic areas, each with its own focus. I chose Dongzha because it is labeled as a water town ancient town scenic area. Although it has been raining, sometimes it is quite heavy, the streets and alleys in the town are still crowded with people, and it is difficult to take a few clean photos. First choose to walk along the river, strolling and looking. There are corridors in some places, so you don’t need to hold an umbrella and can focus on taking pictures. Cruise ships come and go in the river, and there are many tourists. The small Wuzhen is a miniature version of China in the past.

Dongzha Scenic Area is located to the east of the North and South Shihe River (100 meters wide). The scenic area is located on both sides of the Shihe River (nearly 20 meters wide). There are six bridges on the river. The wooden houses and ancient buildings on the north bank are connected together to form Dongzha. Wuzhen implements a one-ticket system for scenic spots, with a ticket price of 100 yuan per person. A very simple and primitive place

It is not as fancy as other ancient towns. The small shops and restaurants are all run by residents and the prices are very affordable.

The overall style of the Dongzha scenic area is different from that of the Xizha scenic area, and the scale of the scenic area is much smaller than that of the Xizha scenic area. Compared with the visual effect of the Jiangnan water town in the Xizha scenic area, the tour route of the Dongzha scenic area mainly passes through an old street, and the scenery is not very attractive. Perhaps to make up for this deficiency, the operator of the scenic area has used some old houses on the street to create and set up more than ten folk culture and life theme pavilions to enrich tourists' experience of the Dongzha scenic area.

Compared with West Gate, East Gate has a stronger aboriginal atmosphere. When tourists have not come yet, residents ride bicycles to and fro, and many people have small motorcycles parked in front of their houses. There are still moxa sticks stuck on the wooden doors, and I wonder if the rice dumplings made for the Dragon Boat Festival have been eaten. The old man sat by the door rubbing his eyes. The small stone road without water is the appearance of a Jiangnan town, which reminds me of the recently popular game Jiangnan Hundred Scenes. The bottom of the house is covered with moss, and I wonder if it will be damp inside. Looking out from the alleys on both sides of the main road, you can see the small river surrounding the town.

Wuzhen East Gate is a scenic spot located in Tongxiang City, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit Wuzhen East Gate. Famous attractions include the former residence of Mao Dun and the former residence of Mu Xin.

There are many people in Dongzha during the day, all of them are tour groups, and it is very noisy. In the evening, Dongzha is very quiet, with almost no tourists.

It was already past 5 o'clock when I arrived at Dongzha. The visitor center had closed, and I could not buy tickets to enter the scenic area through the main entrance of the visitor center. I called the owner of the inn in the Dongzha scenic area who had been booked in advance, and with her guidance, I bought tickets to enter the scenic area from the entrance of Xinhua Road.

You need to buy a ticket to enter the Dongzha Scenic Area. There are two types of tickets: 110 yuan and 25 yuan. The difference between the two is that the 25 yuan ticket does not include visiting some small attractions in the scenic area (such as the Woodcarving Museum, Coin Museum, Jiangnan Hundred Beds Museum, etc.). I arrived at Dongzha after 5 o'clock, and all the small attractions in the scenic area were closed. Since the ticket is only valid for that day, I can't buy and there is no need to buy a 110 yuan ticket. I bought a 25 yuan ticket to stay in Dongzha, and visited the free open part of Dongzha tomorrow, so I don't waste money on buying a 110 yuan ticket for some exhibition halls.

It's very comfortable to walk around and play. It's not as big as Xizha, so there is always a corner where you can stay quietly for a while. Mu Xin's former residence is well decorated, and it's very touching to see it bit by bit.

Wuzhen Dongzha has preserved the original living habits of the local people, and the humanistic feelings are displayed here to the fullest.

The scenery is beautiful, and the night view is really beautiful at night. I still remember the beautiful scenery of the boat trip on the lake.

Dongzha is themed on tourism, where you can experience the original residential and cultural environment;

The boat is sailing on the water, and standing on the bridge to enjoy the scenery, it would be more beautiful if there were sunrise and sunset in the early morning and evening. It is worth staying overnight to enjoy the night view and the morning glow.

It's not very big, but there are performances. The water is not as clean as Xizha. It's quite turbid.

I looked around Dongzha at the entrance and listened to some opera. The locals said that Dongzha is actually quite small, but it has Mao Dun’s former residence, so it should be worth a visit.

Dongzha is not as lively as Xizha, but the style is similar. If you are short of time after visiting Xizha, there is no need to go to Dongzha again.

Dongzha is actually not very big, but it is definitely not small. There are even aboriginal people in it. 2 hours is enough for Dongzha. There are many folk museums that are worth visiting. Dyeing workshop is recommended.

It takes about 1.5 hours to play in Dongzha. It is more lifelike and not as exquisite as Xizha. The scenery in the early morning is still very good. There is no entertainment and night view at night. I stayed in Dongzha for one night this time and slept for most of the next day. It was a bit of a waste of time.

When I first arrived in Wuzhen, I encountered auspicious snow. The East Gate was covered in silver, the black tiles were covered with white snow, the small boats were swaying, and the melodious boat songs floated in the air. I opened the small window and saw the clear water and blue stones, what a beautiful sight.

I went there during the day. Compared with Xizha, there are fewer commercial streets inside, which is suitable for a leisurely stroll.

Dongzha is more ancient than Xizha, and many local residents live in it.

Wuzhen's East Gate is the last scenic spot I visited during my two days in Wuzhen. The ticket is 120 yuan. There are many residential houses preserved here. They still live here. When visiting, we try not to disturb their lives. At the East Gate, you can see a lot of things, such as shadow play and visit some very famous attractions.

For example, you can see how liquor is made and have a drink. If you like it, you can take some back as a souvenir.

Dongzha is exactly what I imagined, with small bridges, flowing water, black tiles and white walls, against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds, and black boats carrying tourists, swaying slowly and leisurely on the water. We spent more than two hours walking around Dongzha and then came out. In fact, there are many attractions inside that can be savored carefully, such as Huiyuan Pawnshop, Mao Dun's former residence, Yuliuliang Coin Museum, Woodcarving Museum, Blue Print Dyeing Factory, Wuzhen Folk Customs Museum, Jiangnan Hundred Beds Museum...

Dongzha is not as beautiful as Xizha, and it is also small. The water is not clear and green, just like the Yellow River. There is also a dyeing factory here, but it is smaller than Xizha.

Wuzhen is also a place with a relatively developed tourism industry, so when you arrive at the East Gate, just follow the signs. You don’t need to do too much planning. Although the scenery is similar, how should I put it? This kind of scenery coupled with the cool breeze makes me willing to stay for a few days. It is very comfortable.

Dongzha is relatively primitive, with a strong atmosphere of life. Take a cruise to the end and then stroll out. The boat ticket is 30 yuan. I forgot whether there is a child ticket. It feels good to take a boat. I finished visiting Dongzha in an hour.

We didn't go directly into the scenic area, but followed other people's guides to eat at Dongzha Old Street. As soon as we entered the scenic area, we saw the cruise ship, which felt very comfortable. We also wanted to join in the fun, so we bought a one-way ticket for 160 yuan (because we didn't want to share the boat with others). The scenery passed by the cruise ship was so beautiful, and the beauty of the Jiangnan water people was amazing. We couldn't help but take several photos, haha. It took only ten minutes to play on one side of Dongzha. We got off the boat and walked along a road. There is a scenic spot every distance, and one ticket can go to several attractions. I took a quick look at some attractions. The most amazing one was the Jiangnan Woodcarving Museum. I didn't seem to have much feeling for other attractions. It took about three hours to finish the tour of Dongzha. Dongzha is actually very small, and you can finish it quickly even if you don't take a cruise.

Compared with West Scenic Area, East Scenic Area is inferior to West Scenic Area in both scenery and management. But it is also worth visiting, just for the former residences of Mu Xin and Mao Dun, and for the "farming in the sun and reading in the rain" in "A Time to Live".

It only takes 3 hours. There are many small specialties and dyed cloth for sale. If you like, you can bargain.

People say that Dongzha is not as good as Xizha, but I think it is pretty good.

The winery in the scenic area is still in use, mainly producing Wuzhen's special "Sanbai Liquor". You can taste it for free. The wine is very mellow and over 50℃. You can also learn about the entire production process of the wine.

Blue printed cloth is a specialty of Wuzhen. You can learn about the cloth-making process and see the exquisite finished products. Many houses sell blue printed cloth fans, and they sell 4 for 10 yuan during promotions. It is surprisingly cheap.

I really like Dongzha, it is very simple and has the feeling of a Jiangnan water village. If you are tired of walking there, you can sit anywhere, and if you are thirsty, there is a public chrysanthemum tea to drink~

Residents also throw dirty water in it, but it is still quite charming when no one is there. I guess it will be more beautiful when tourists fade away. Before 7 o'clock in the morning, all the scenic spots were guarded by iron generals. After 7:30, a large group of people came and the staff were on duty. I couldn't get in without tickets. Two tourists accidentally walked out of the scenic area, and when they came in again, they were chased by the staff for tickets. There is no obvious boundary between the scenic area and the outside in Dongzha, so it is easy to walk out. Dongzha was full of tourists at 8 o'clock, and the quiet atmosphere in the morning was gone.

Wuzhen East Gate is not as famous as West Gate, but it is not as commercialized as West Gate. You can buy a combination ticket to enjoy it.

The East Gate is not as big as the West Gate, so we finished walking through it quickly.

Compared with Xizha, I prefer Dongzha, which retains the most original atmosphere of the ancient town!

In the past, you could enter the B&Bs near Dongzha without buying a ticket, but later on, it was restricted and you couldn't enter. Dongzha is more pristine and full of residents. Dongzha is much smaller than Xizha and has more tour groups. If you go to Xizha first and then Dongzha, it will seem inferior, but you can visit the Mu Xin Museum in Dongzha (you need to make an appointment online in advance), the history of the development of ancient beds, etc. Dongzha also sells B&B clothing, and the prices are not expensive. The Dongzha scenic area closes at 4:30 pm. #If you are traveling independently, I suggest you arrive in Wuzhen earlier on the first day, stay in Xizha that night, buy a combined ticket, have the luggage checked in to the B&B for free at the main service desk, and go directly to Dongzha first, which can be completed in 2.5 hours. Dongzha is much smaller than Xizha. It only takes a little more than an hour to go around. There are several spots, such as the boxing boat, which will have performances at fixed times. In addition, you must go to the wine shop, which is very flavorful.

There are fewer scenic spots in Dongzha. It is basically undeveloped and mostly inhabited by local residents. Unlike Xizha, which is heavily commercialized, there is a market in Dongzha that sells various souvenirs and snacks. Although the things in Dongzha are relatively cheap, you should still shop around and ask more before making a decision, because often the same thing has three different prices in three stores. By comparing, you can also guess what price is reasonable for this thing. The snacks in the market are mostly pastries. I don’t think they are very tasty, but it’s good to try them, after all, different places have their own characteristics.

Dongzha is really small. We basically visited all the places we could go, except for Jiangnan Bed Museum and Hongyuan Tai Dyeing Workshop, which required tickets to enter. We didn’t have tickets so we couldn’t go in to visit.

Therefore, I think you should spend more time in Xizha when you come to Wuzhen, and stay in the Xizha scenic area, so that you will have plenty of time to enjoy the night view at night.

The tourist route of Wuzhen Dongzha is a road from Yingjia Bridge along Guanqian Street East Street to Caishen Bay. It is not unreasonable to say that it is similar to the streets of other ancient water towns in the south of the Yangtze River, but Dongzha has its own differences. For example, its Hongyuantai Dyeing Factory is worth a visit.

When you enter the Dongzha Scenic Area, you will see boat tickets for 30 yuan per person. You can go along the Dongzha Scenic Area from beginning to end without turning back. The river on the map runs from right to left. It is a traditional hand-cranked boat, which is very unique and worth trying. Chartering a boat costs 180 yuan.

In the Dongzha Scenic Area, you can not only take a boat and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Jiangnan, but also there are many old workshops, memorial halls, etc.

After visiting various museums, you can seriously appreciate the houses, water and people of Dongzha.

Since Dongzha is currently stagnant water, the water in the river is basically dirty and white.

In the past, river water was all running water, and people in water towns could not eat, drink or live without the river at their doorstep. Now, with the protection of the environment, the running water has turned into dead water and dirty water, which really affects the viewing experience.

It was a cloudy day when I went there, and the water was not clean, so I changed all the photos to black and white to better show the artistic conception of Wuzhen.

Many people say that Dongzha is not worth visiting. Dongzha was developed first and many aboriginals live there. Many one-day tours around here go through Dongzha. Dongzha is 1.5 kilometers away from Xizha. There is a free shuttle bus to Dongzha (South Gate) opposite the entrance of Xizha Scenic Area. It takes only a few minutes to get there. The shuttle bus interval is 10 minutes, according to the front desk. When you arrive at Dongzha, first find the tourist service center to store your luggage. Tips: Luggage storage is free. When you arrive in Wuzhen, it feels like there are so many good things.

The staff will hand you a luggage storage card. Please fill in the number of pieces, contact phone number and sign your name.

The opening hours of Dongzha are from 7:20 am to 5:30 pm. Because there are still many aboriginals in the scenic area, Dongzha is not open at night.

There is nothing amazing about Dongzha. What you see are the humanities and history, various museums and former residences of celebrities, such as the popular "Former Residence of Mao Dun".

If Xizha is a water town for the rich, then Dongzha is a water town for the poor. If you only have one day to visit Wuzhen, I suggest you spend more time in Xizha, especially the night view is beautiful. In terms of management, Xizha is more sound.

Dongzha is relatively small, with only one or two streets, and sells some special snacks and local specialties.

When visiting Wuzhen, you must avoid the hot sun at noon in summer. It makes people feel overwhelmed and lose the desire to play. It seems that you are in a hurry all the way. I don't know how I wandered to the exit of Dongzha. I am struggling whether to go out or not. Just after entering the gate of the scenic area, I listened to the tour guide's explanation. Tips: The tour guide said that you must go back the same way. If you see an exit in front of you, don't go out. If you go out, you have to take a taxi to the East Gate.

Actually, there are combined tickets for East and West Gates for sale, which are 200 yuan per person. If you live in East Gate or West Gate, you can enter and exit unlimitedly on the same day with your accommodation certificate. Otherwise, the combined ticket can only enter each gate once, and cannot be used after exiting. So for those of us who traveled in two separate days, we had to buy them separately.

Generally, tourists visit East Scenic Area first and then West Scenic Area. When we entered East Scenic Area, we immediately understood why we visited this way, because... East Scenic Area cannot be compared with West Scenic Area. After visiting West Scenic Area, we really felt that there was nothing to do or see in East Scenic Area. Is this order to make tourists think, wow, East Scenic Area is quite interesting, and then go to West Scenic Area, wow, it is so big and beautiful~

But our feelings were completely opposite (covering our faces), and we almost regretted buying the tickets to come in

However, compared with West Gate, East Gate has a stronger cultural atmosphere, because there are still many residents living there. Walking on both sides of the alley are small houses where residents live. Some have been converted into small shops, and most of them are closed and enjoy the life along the water. There are many places in East Gate that are "off-limits to tourists", which feels quite mysterious.

Dongzha is not as good as Xizha. Dongzha is where the aboriginals live. It is relatively simple, but also very commercial. There are many tour groups in the morning, one after another. I was originally going to experience the ancient town quietly, but I was overwhelmed by the tour groups. But I still took some photos. It is recommended to go to Dongzha in the afternoon, as there are no tour groups in the afternoon. Dongzha closes at 5:30, so pay attention to the time.

Dongzha can be fully explored in about two hours. I originally planned a tourist route, but found that it was completely unnecessary. I could just walk along the road and visit all the attractions in one go.

5.1 I just finished visiting Wuzhen, and I'm writing a review while the iron is hot. Compared with West Gate, East Gate is not as big as West Gate, and it is more authentic. Although there are some shops, the commercial atmosphere is not too strong. If you want to eat or drink tea, it is not recommended to go to East Gate, but if you want to see the scenery and take photos, East Gate is a good choice. The prices of the things in the shops are not high, and the sellers are also relatively enthusiastic and polite. If there are many people, the play time may be 3 hours. If you take a quick tour, the time may be correspondingly less. Maybe it was because Dongzha was developed late or for some other reason, the overall feeling is more life-like. You can feel it by looking at the large flowered bed sheets and quilt covers drying on the roofs on both sides. Only a few roofs are drying standardized white sheets. There are also residents and merchants selling things, but they are all very small stores. Many of them even put pots and pans in front of their homes to sell some cooked food... There is a market in the middle of Dongzha, which is relatively large in area, but it sells things inside (to be honest, it feels a bit like when I went to Hongcun ten years ago). There are also some local specialties, such as shortbread, Sanbai wine, etc. What makes Dongzha a little troublesome is that some attractions require tickets to enter. Although you don’t need to buy tickets separately, it’s troublesome to search your bag to find tickets. In addition, not all attractions in Dongzha are in the scenic area. There are two attractions outside the scenic area. In addition, I encountered a small incident, a small-scale sit-in protest, with only a few people, wearing the same T-shirt with "Wuzhen has been developed for more than ten years, and Dongzha residents have not received XX money" or something like that. It was probably lunch time, and a few people were eating and chatting, and the security personnel were still watching them...

Dongzha is closed for sightseeing after 5 o'clock, so it is generally recommended to visit Dongzha first. Of course, if you live in Dongzha, you can do whatever you want.

Dongzha is more cultural, with wine lees, you can taste wine, it's quite spicy. There are also dyeing workshops, Mao Dun's former residence, and Mu Xin Exhibition Hall. The first day in Wuzhen was also quite damp and cold, a kind of cold that penetrated deep into the bone marrow, and the interest in playing was greatly reduced, as if I had returned to the first day in Hangzhou. There were not many people, and you could slowly feel the tranquility and gentleness of the Jiangnan water town.

Unfortunately, we didn't take a boat trip. We missed many opportunities to take a boat trip in Suzhou just to take one in Wuzhen. It was too cold and we were afraid that we would be stiff after the boat trip, so we gave up.

The biggest difference between East Gate and West Gate is that there are still some old local residents living there, and the former residences of literati are also a major feature. The water in East Gate is not as winding as that in West Gate, but the high-pole boat performance is very unique and must-see. The Sanbai Winery and Hongyuantai Dyeing Factory in East Gate are full-set performances. The winery has the process of steaming wine, and the dyeing factory has the process of weaving and dyeing cloth. Compared with the Xuchang Soy Sauce Garden and Caomu Bense Dyeing Factory in West Gate, they are more like the real thing.

What is Jiangnan?

It is the pink walls and black tiles hidden in the pink peach blossoms and green willows; it is the riverside houses beside the small bridges and flowing water;

It is the small flower umbrella blooming like lilac in the mist and rain; it is the half-closed window beside the horse head wall in the afternoon;

Is it the blue printed cloth on the boat girl? Or is it the fragrance of old wine wafting through the ancient town at dusk?

The boat swayed, and the boatman only needed one oar to make the boat move freely left and right, forward and backward, which made me feel quite magical. After crossing a low bridge, a row of quaint water town buildings appeared before my eyes.

Try not to go there right after it rains, as the river water is a bit turbid and the color is not particularly beautiful.
