Xianju Gongyu Scenic Area, a hidden paradise in southern Zhejiang. Surrounded by mountains and shrouded in mist, terraced fields and villages complement each other beautifully. Hiking through it feels like stepping into a secluded ink painting, allowing the soul to find a rare tranquility and freedom, an ideal paradise away from the hustle and bustle of life.

By China-TravelNote users |

It was a very nice hike, but the way up the mountain was a bit difficult. I went with my wife. Since we were going to camp there⛺️, we brought our tent⛺️ and food with us. We were a bit overweight. We walked for about 3 hours. The villagers were very friendly and simple and provided us with a place to camp. 😊 The scenery at Gongyubei, which we climbed the next day, was really beautiful (*๓´╰╯`๓)♡

It's a good place for photography, but you can skip it if you're short on time.

The rice paddies are golden in the autumn, and the basin-shaped terraced fields in the scenic area are very beautiful. I have been there many times and want to go back in the next season. There is also a paradise for the brave. The top of the Gongyuanbei is pulled up and down by a rope, which requires courage and strength!

By Contains |

I've been looking forward to this moment since the beginning of spring. The fairies said the rice was about to be harvested, so I immediately set off [wit][wit][wit], climbing and playing along the stream and bamboo forest, sweating, cleansing my lungs, playing in the water, drying the rice, enjoying the beautiful scenery and eating farm food [color][color][color] Why just climb up and look into the distance!?

The natural scenery is beautiful, but it's not as spectacular as the trash left behind by tourists. Ribbons, originally meant to be road signs, have become a vicious advertising campaign, and the tourism boom is diluting the simple customs of the people. The mountains have lost their spirit, the wild animals have left, leaving only traps to continue devouring the limbs of farm dogs. Fellow human beings, please respect yourselves, Mother Nature is crying. Xianju is no longer a fairyland, it is no longer suitable for living.

Hidden deep in the mountains, Gongyu offers a bit of a challenge and danger in its climb, but the scenery is among the best in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Be sure to take the path that follows the stream up the mountain. If the weather is good, don't miss the starry sky. Don't expect too much from accommodation and food; the village standard is actually quite good in such a remote area.

By Photographer Su Yi |

The scenery is very good, but if you want to cross it, you must be an advanced hiker. Ordinary people should not try it easily.

Gongyu is truly peaceful without any hiking groups. The houses are mostly occupied by elderly people, each meticulously tending to their farmwork. The day passes in the blink of an eye. It's almost 6 a.m., and the sky is still light. Evening has already passed, but it hasn't. Gongyu is most famous for climbing Gongyu Rock and overlooking this secluded paradise.

By explorer |

On weekends, Gongyu is bustling with people: adults and children, hikers and ordinary tourists. Looking at Gongyu bathed in spring sunshine, with its branches and twigs covered in pink and purple azaleas, I'm reminded of Xi Murong's poem, "A Flowering Tree." Spring, after all, is a world of flowers. There are pink and purple azaleas, and bright red, growing along the slopes of wild hills you pass by, along cliffs you can see or can't see. There are fields of golden rapeseed blossoms, lining Gongyu's terraced fields and on the slopes cultivated by farmers. Occasionally, you'll spot peach and pear blossoms in the village, their blossoms lush and vibrant. And of course, there are countless wildflowers whose names I can't name. Not only are the flowers vibrant, but even the weeds are lush and tender.

This is a landscape wrought by nature: towering mountains, cliffs jutting into each other, a breathtaking spectacle. I was completely captivated by the breathtaking beauty of Gongyu. Looking down at Gongyu Village below, the black-tiled, yellow-walled farmhouses of Xiaping Village, though dilapidated, exude a sense of ancient history. Nestled among lush green terraced fields, and set against the backdrop of surrounding lush, rocky peaks, they create a picturesque scene. Photographers will surely stop here to capture its beauty. If you're lucky enough to see Gongyu shrouded in mist, it's a true paradise on earth. Hiking enthusiasts, if you happen to be planning a trip to Xianju, why not head to Gongyu for a moment of tranquility and relaxation?

By Lune |

It's best not to wear a skirt when climbing the Gongyu. Shoes must be comfortable, lightweight, and non-slip. The houses here are old, and there are only a few households in Xiaping Village. Those who do are mostly elderly.

The moment you climb up Gongyubei and see the sunrise and the sea of clouds, everything is worth it!

I think Xianju Gongyu is quite nice, after all, it's known as the "Shangri-La of East China." Gongyu will soon be developed into a major tourist attraction within the Dashenxian Scenic Area. Go and experience its pristine scenery! Xianju Gongyu isn't a particularly fun place, but it's a very pristine, undeveloped place. The mountain trails can be difficult, especially to Gongyu Rock. Don't go too late or when it's raining; safety is paramount. It's worth it to indulge yourself in Gongyu, experience farmhouses, sleep in a tent, and be woken by birdsong.

By Alvin Liao |

It takes two hours to get from the foot of the mountain to Gongyu Village, mostly on gravel roads. From the village to Gongyubei, it takes about 50 minutes, and you need to climb to the top. The small peaks next to it are relatively easier and can be climbed with your bare hands! See the pictures for the scenery!

By gary |

I can't stand the constant shouting. No matter how good the scenery is, it is ruined by the noise. It feels like Sanlitun has been moved to the mountains. I don't know where I am. It's ridiculous.

From the Xianju Passenger Transport Center, take the Hengxi bus to Tianshi for 5 yuan per person. At the Tianshi People's Government intersection, take a bus to Kesi for 5 yuan. After getting off, drive 1.5 kilometers to the foot of Qiankeng Village. The climb up the mountain is about 3 to 4 kilometers. The heat is intense, and you'll be soaked. At the top, the grandparents grow their own vegetables for 25 yuan per person. Accommodation is also 25 yuan per person. Hot showers are available for 10 yuan per person. There are also two black and one white cubs staring at you. Give them some meat, hahaha 😄. Breakfast is 10 yuan per person, which is a great deal, better than going to Shenxianju. The locals are very simple and don't charge extra fees. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

I visited on the third day of the Lunar New Year holiday. There were very few people and the scenery was beautiful. Parking cost 10 yuan, which I felt was a rip-off, but it didn't matter. The scenic area is free, and the climb wasn't difficult. It took two hours to get to Gongyu Village. We spent 400 yuan on dinner for 10 people, 14 dishes, which was okay. The hostess then told us about an alternative route down the mountain, which offered a view of the stream. The path was a bit difficult, but the scenery was still beautiful. Listening to the sound of the flowing water was a joy. I suspect this route floods during flood season, but it's definitely worth a visit. The scenery is beautiful, the scenery is sparse, and it's free. Trekking poles are essential. Seeing someone climbing in high heels was truly adventurous.

There is accommodation in Gongyu Village, but there are some requirements for hygiene.

It's really ordinary, but it's called Shangri-La. I'm really drunk

A hiking route with moderate difficulty, the last Shangri-La in East China

By Xinrui |

The scenery is stunning. The village lacks a road, making transportation inconvenient, but the scenery is definitely worth the effort. The farmhouses are booming, so if you're traveling alone, I recommend bringing plenty of food. There are two public restrooms in the village, but locals say they're currently under tender, and they might be developed into a scenic area in two years with an entrance fee. The scenery on the mountain is stunning, and the brave can climb to the top. There's a section of rock climbing with ropes, which was quite challenging for a beginner like me. Afterward, there's a cable-stayed climb to the summit, which is a challenging but thrilling walk. The vibrant rice paddies are stunning in autumn!

By Hola |

I came here because of its reputation. It takes about an hour to get from the parking lot to Gongyu Village, and about an hour's hike from the village to the top of the mountain. It is recommended to bring hiking poles. Since it is not developed, many roads are gravel. It is a bit slippery with a little rain. You must wear a pair of good shoes, otherwise your feet will hurt. There is alternating rain and fog on the top of the mountain. The scenery is beautiful. It is surrounded by mountains and seems like a fairyland on earth. It is worth a visit.

It was a bit hard to climb the mountain, but the village was really beautiful, and the food and accommodation conditions were a bit poor.

Since there is no public transportation in Gongyu, I hired a car for 200 yuan. The driver was very nice and dropped me off at the foot of the mountain. Before I went back, I called the driver in advance and he would wait for me at the foot of the mountain.

Let me tell you about this hike. The weather wasn't great during my hike. The rain, though sometimes heavy and sometimes light, still affected the hike. Some of the rocks were a bit slippery. The scenery along the way was beautiful, and reaching the summit felt like a fairyland. The mist from the rain was particularly impressive, but I regretted that I stopped at Shangxiaping Village and didn't make it all the way to the top. Firstly, when I asked the locals, they told me I had to continue, but they said the fog was too thick to climb. Secondly, the trail was particularly difficult after I climbed a short distance. If you're planning to go further up, my personal recommendations are to either go in good weather or bring a rope with you so you can help out. I was on my own, and it was raining, so for safety's sake I didn't take the risk, which is a bit of a shame. There are trails along the way left by outdoor sports clubs, so don't worry about getting lost if you're a first-time hiker.

It was my first time camping in the mountains, and the conditions were limited. But since I chose to hike, that didn't matter. The scenery was nice, but I was so busy walking that I didn't take in the scenery.

By eddy |

Personally, I think the scenery is still okay, especially after climbing the mountain road that felt like it would kill me, I saw Gongyu Village and it was quite refreshing. However, if it is just to see the T fields and the stars, I think Gongyu is not worth it. After all, the mountain road is quite dangerous and very tiring.

All five-star reviews.

The hike from the front pit to Gongyu is worth the trip, and the final rope climb to the back of Gongyu in the early morning will leave you in awe.

We first went to Gongyu Village, climbed Gongyubei, and then went to Shenxianju Scenic Area. After visiting Gongyu, I felt that Shenxianju was unremarkable and had no real reputation.

If you go to Xianju for a trip and can only choose one attraction to visit between Gongyu and Shenxianju, I will strongly recommend Gongyu to my friends.

A paradise discovered by hikers, it is indeed very quiet and beautiful, and it is worthy of the title of Shangri-La in East China.

What a wonderful scenic spot! I've been talking about it for two or three years, and finally I got to see it. It's open and free, and the scenery is pleasant and delightful, spring is in the air, and the mountains and forests are full of youthful energy. Xiaping Village in Gongyu is a small village that tells a story, and it's very charming. The animals there are very spiritual, and the owners of the farmhouses are very warm and hospitable!

By Diaspora |

The Gongyu Scenic Area remains undeveloped, but outdoor enthusiasts flock to it, drawn by beautiful online photos. Nestled at a height of 600 meters, two small villages, Shangping and Xiaping, collectively known as Gongyu Village, lie on a mountain. My friend and I took a morning to visit and were deeply impressed. We hurried along a century-old stone path, passing through pine and bamboo forests, and arrived at Gongyu Village after a two-hour walk. We were captivated by the scenery. Surrounded by mountains over 1,000 meters high, the village is enclosed in a small basin, framed by the peaks of the Gongyu Mountains. The village retains much of the charm of Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, with mud or wood walls and gray tiles. The beds are still traditional wooden, and the stone pillars carved from the volcanic lava formations and a few terraced fields are truly beautiful. Beyond the scenery, the mountains offer many other attractions: grazing cattle, leisurely dogs, and the villagers drying tofu, peanuts, dried bamboo shoots, and preserved preserved vegetables, as well as potatoes grown in the terraced fields, all bringing back memories of home. It took another 1.5 hours to hurriedly get back down the mountain, which felt like a forced march.

The folk customs here are relatively simple. Food and accommodation are both 30 yuan per person, and the prices of drinks are not too bad. Popsicles and Wahaha are 5 yuan, Coke and Sprite are 8 yuan, and beer, Scream, Red Bull, Wanglaoji and cantaloupe are 10 yuan.

The best time to visit Gongyu is in autumn, when the rice is golden and the terraced fields are at their most beautiful. It is also best to stay overnight, as the stars twinkle at night, making it particularly beautiful.

By Arrogant Cloud |

The uncultivated natural scenery has been visited by many hiking groups in recent years. The scenery is nice, but the road is relatively difficult and the accommodation is relatively primitive. However, it has a unique flavor. Friends who want to explore the adventure can also take the mountain stream trail.

Awesome, wordsmith. It's beautiful and stunning, but the 15km hike is really thrilling and exciting.

By FFFFFF |

The scenery before going up the mountain was in a hurry, so I could only take two quick photos. These yellow and green are rice, not rape flowers. Oh, this is not Wuyuan, but Xianju [naughty]. It was too late when I went up the mountain, and it was dark, so I couldn't take pictures of the back mountain. It is actually more beautiful. The volcanic Danxia landform, which is rare in Zhejiang, has the flavor of Guilin's landscape, but here the peaks are connected and the flavor is different. Five-star recommendation in the province

By haly |

I came here because I wanted to explore a lesser-known area and because of its nickname, "Shangri-La of East China." Gongyu Village is inaccessible by car, so it can only be reached on foot (about four hours round trip). A cable car is available at the foot of the mountain to transport tents and other luggage. We parked our car in Qiankeng Village. Some B&Bs charge 30 yuan per person for a combination of meat and vegetables, while a local chicken hot pot costs 100 yuan (the owner said the chicken weighed three or four pounds). Parking is 10 yuan per car per day (free parking in front of anyone's house you dine at). There are also restaurants that charge by dish. The farmhouse we stayed at, Zhu Xiaodi Farmhouse, had a six-person room for 150 yuan per night, with a shared bathroom for four rooms. Dinner, eight dishes, rice, and a large Coke, totaled 265 yuan. The noodles for breakfast were a bit pricey at 15 yuan per bowl, but without the noodles, it was 8 yuan per person, served with porridge, steamed buns, and a side dish. The steamed buns in the mountain village were quite delicious. The owner allowed us to pitch a tent on the fourth-floor rooftop for free, where we could see the stars at night. My five-year-old, having just climbed Shenxianju for five hours the previous day, was clearly exhausted today. He gave up at the first steep slope, and while his father led us back the way we came, I continued on. On my own, my speed increased significantly. After a quick 40 minutes, we reached the village. Signs marked the roadside, pointing to Shangping Village and Xiaping Village. The two villages are very close, so I went to Xiaping. There were two tent sites at the entrance, 10 yuan per night, and meals were free at a nearby villager's house. The village was surrounded by mountains, shrouded in mist, a truly captivating sight. Once we reached the summit, I was struck by the beauty and immediately felt less tired. For someone who grew up in rural southern China, the scenery wasn't breathtaking, but it felt familiar, like returning to my grandmother's home. (I didn't get lost; the colorful ribbons the guide had tied along the way were there.)

By Arron1990 |

The scenery is really beautiful, but this place is relatively primitive, the food and accommodation are rather simple, and there is no mobile phone signal. Maybe this is also an advantage!

By Big Head Brother |

Gongyu, a mountain in Xianju, Zhejiang, is renowned for its majestic, terraced terrain, rising over 1,100 meters above sea level. The mountain towers majestically, imposing and vast. Beneath its terraced backs lie layers of rice paddies, dotted with old villages. Currently undeveloped and largely untouched by ordinary tourists, it's a popular destination for hikers and has become a popular outdoor destination in Zhejiang Province.

Xianju Gongyu lives up to its name. It's the place where the immortals reside. The cliffs stand abruptly on the hillside, a deep, imposing presence. Turning to the side, they appear as thin as a blade, ever-changing, resembling a giant crocodile or a rhinoceros, evoking the beauty of "a mountain range seen from the front, a peak from the side."

I steeled my resolve, taking my five-year-old son with me. After three hours into the village, I felt like giving up several times, but I persevered because I was hungry, and the return journey would be quite a distance... I gritted my teeth and made it to the village. There's a farmhouse there for 30 yuan per person, where a few simple dishes were incredibly delicious. Afterward, I rented a bed for another 10 yuan per person to rest. It took two hours to leave the village. It was an unforgettable hike.

By Liu Jiemei |

I stumbled upon this place and went there with a few friends. Although it was tiring, I have to say it was really worth it!! It’s a hiking paradise, a rare undeveloped area. Although I’m not a professional hiking enthusiast, I’m willing to come back a few more times!!

By Traveling around the world |

The mountains are full of peaks and the scenery is spectacular. It is definitely worth a visit.

By Qiye wakes up to save the world |

It's a great outdoor travel route. I ended up going with my parents. Since it's a free place, we couldn't be too critical of the road conditions. The view from the village above was quite stunning. It was just quite run-down, which is why some hikers had to camp on the mountain. We climbed up, rested for a while, and came down without lunch. It was quite a pleasant walk.

By Tang Xiaotang |

The road conditions are relatively poor and the whole journey takes about three hours. The scenery is really great. You can stay in a farmer's house in the valley where you can eat and stay, but the conditions are average. You can choose to rent a tent.

By doraluo |

The boundless natural scenery, coupled with the very original folk customs, it turns out that returning to the past life is really unrealistic, even if it is only 20 years ago.

By Curse of Sargeras |

This is the most beautiful place in Xianju! Five-star recommendation, but the premise is to be fully prepared. The four-hour mountain climb, if you want to reach the highest peak to see the terraced fields and villages, you need to hold on to the rope and climb. The beautiful scenery you finally get will definitely not disappoint you.

By Makikawa |

The scenery is beautiful, the ancient buildings are well preserved, and the accommodation conditions are poor. It is a place suitable for hikers.

By Drifting and soft |

Gongyu Scenic Area is not bad in a place like Taizhou. It is beautiful.

By Begging for food |

I went there in the summer of 2015. I arrived at the parking lot at the foot of the mountain at 12 noon, reached Shangping Village at 2:40, reached the rope section on the rock wall around 3:30, looked out at Xiaping Village from a distance at 4:45, and returned to the parking lot around 6:30.

We didn't stay overnight because the conditions in the mountains were indeed a bit worse, so we went up and down the mountain on the same day.

Minors are not allowed to go up to the rope area on the rock wall. Safety first.

Special reminder:

1. It is not easy to find accommodation near Gongyu Village. You can only look for hotels near Xianju and Wenling, or find farmhouses near the Gongyu parking lot.

2. When hiking in the summer, be sure to wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants, and bring some good outdoor mosquito repellent, as mosquitoes in the mountains are very powerful.

By Turnips |

The scenery is beautiful, the air is fresh, and there aren't many people, so it's perfect for enjoying it.

By Small islands |

Legend has it that this is the last Shangri-La in East China. When I went there, the terraced fields in Gongyu Village had not yet planted rape flowers, and the vegetable fields were not green enough. When I climbed up, the weather was very good, with big sun, so there was no cloud or fog. The scenery was free, but it required a lot of physical strength.

By enbacoo |

It's OK, a good place to relax, and a good place for a weekend trip

By Still the same |

"East China Shangri-La" is a bit too much. The scenery after reaching the top of the mountain is very good, with rape flowers in the spring. The way up the mountain is just so-so.

By backpacker |

The scenery is nice, with unique features, beautiful environment and fresh air

By grace |

The scenery is nice, but it is not well protected and there is a lot of garbage. It is a famous hiking route in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas. The B&Bs there are also relatively simple, and you can see the Milky Way at night.

Gongyu, known as the Shangri-La of Jiangnan, boasts towering mountains and a complex and diverse topography. Its predominant formation is volcanic lava with well-developed joints. Stretching cliffs form a belt-like volcanic platform, complemented by Danxia landforms and avalanches, creating a variety of unique peaks. Among the most famous attractions is Gongyu Rock, a massive, elephant-like cliff that stretches 1,200 meters east-west and 150-200 meters high. At dawn or sunset, Gongyu Rock shimmers with color, resembling a golden elephant.

After climbing the mountain for about two hours, you will be amazed by the scenery when you see Gongyu Village hidden in the valley. You should find a local who knows the way to take you to a place where you can see the whole view of Gongyu Village. It is located on a small road. The small village in the valley is a paradise on earth and very beautiful. There is a grassland in Gongyu Village where you can camp and set up a tent. You can also stay in a guesthouse. Almost every house in the small village is a guesthouse. Try the local specialties of Xianju, the wild vegetables and local dishes are delicious.

By Gay |

The Gongyu Scenic Area is renowned for its majestic and imposing presence. The area boasts a towering, imposing landscape, with cliff after cliff stretching endlessly across the landscape. Each peak stands apart, forming a distinct entity, while the stone forests and cliffs each have their own unique charm. Key attractions include: Ke Jiusi's former residence; Twenty-four Lang; Gongyu Cliff; Bamboo Forest; Shenlong Waterfall; Twin Lions Guarding the Heavenly Gate; Dragon Mother Cave; Flagpole Rock; and Xiaolongmen.

By Rubinsky |

Gongyu Village is a small village nestled in the mountains. Access to the village is via a narrow mountain path, making it quite difficult. After exiting the highway, you'll park your car outside the village and then hike in. The route is circular, with the southern route, which goes upstream from the mountain stream, taking about an hour. This section offers beautiful scenery, passing through mountain streams and bamboo forests. The climb up the mountain road is a steep gravel path, so wearing hiking boots is recommended to prevent severe foot irritation. There are only a few households in the mountains, all made of mud houses. With the recent tourism boom, many people flock here for weekend meals and weekend getaways, making it much busier than before. However, amenities and accessibility are quite limited.

By 리리 |

I was completely attracted by the scenery in the picture and thought I must go and see it, so I drove off immediately. After driving for more than two hours, I arrived at Gongyu Village, a very primitive small mountain village with only a few local residents. After entering the village, I was a little confused and didn't know which way to go. I took the wrong way. Later, I asked the villagers and found out the correct route. After walking for about 20 minutes, I saw friends coming down the mountain and asked how long it would take to reach the top of the mountain. They said we hadn't even reached one-tenth of the way and it would take three hours to get up. They also said that we didn't look like we were here to climb. I was really confused at the time. Why would it take so long? We didn't bring any food or drinks. We were really unprepared. I was exhausted after walking for an hour in Daming Mountain before. I definitely don't have the physical strength to do it for three hours. Even if I go up and come down, it will take two hours. I thought it would definitely take me three hours. I couldn't finish the climb, but since I was already there, I had to persevere. Fortunately, there were places to rest and sell things along the way, otherwise I would have been exhausted, hungry, and miserable. I met quite a few hikers and photography enthusiasts along the way, and saw cute little squirrels and scary snakes that scared me to death. I kept thinking as I walked, "I must persevere, I can do this." I kept walking and walking, and after almost three hours, I finally reached the summit with my strong will and perseverance. However, I was still a little scared before reaching the summit, and I climbed up carefully, holding on to the tree roots and stepping on the stone walls. When I reached the top and saw the beautiful scenery, I was really moved, excited, and felt very accomplished. It felt like it was all worth it. I exercised my body and honed my will. It was really a great experience (just look at the pictures 😋)

With more people playing, I feel that the simplicity and nature are lost.

Many people like to travel abroad, which is understandable, as historical sites abroad are better preserved. However, in comparison, I personally believe that as a Chinese, I have more feelings for my homeland and can understand more resonance with its history and culture. However, in order to find traditional relics, we often have to cross mountains and rivers and walk to the end of the road.

Gongyu Village in Xianju, Zhejiang, is a paradise-like place. This rare vacation, partly to escape the already lingering smog, brought me back to this Shangri-La in my heart three years later. There's no road access here, and even at the end of the small road, it's still an hour or two of mountain climbing to reach it. Over 20 years ago, the locals relocated the registered residence of all newborn children to other places, escaping the isolation and poverty of generations of farming. As a result, the village, once home to hundreds of people, is now home to only a few dozen elderly people, with virtually no young people or children.

During the hike, I discovered azaleas, a native Chinese flower. I don't know how to classify them, but based on the color, I can tell there are three varieties. Every time I see them, I feel a special fondness, perhaps because I saw them so often as a child. In fact, the so-called Shangri-La of Yunnan, China, originated from a name given to the region of Yunnan, where azaleas are abundant, by British explorers who collected azalea seeds there a century or two ago. After nearly two hours, we finally reached this idyllic paradise nestled beneath the dramatic peaks. Through the bamboo forest, I gazed upon a village nestled in the mountains. Entering the village, I saw that there were almost no refrigerators. Large items had to be transported in by mules and horses, and refrigerators were too cumbersome. Therefore, the village still maintains the tradition of slaughtering the New Year pig and salting the meat for the entire year. This old man was drying the pork, freshly slaughtered and salted a month ago. I quietly wandered around the village, leaving a few notes.

Many houses have been abandoned for years, falling into disrepair and near collapse. Embroidered pillows drying in the sun convey a warm, life-like atmosphere. I spent the night in the simple yet clean upstairs room of the youngest woman in Xiaping Village. The next day, I rose at 4 a.m. to climb the second-highest rock in the area, just to see the sunrise.

Climbing Gongyubei in the dark was the only way to see the sunrise. Even though I trained two days a week, I was still a little nervous, so I spent the afternoon familiarizing myself with the route. I'd avoid getting lost and missing the sunrise. Gongyubei has two peaks you can climb to see the sunrise. I'm afraid of heights, so I chose the easier one, which was also slightly lower. I was lucky enough to see the sunrise, but at the top, in the darkness, it felt like every step I took would lead me to plummet into the endless abyss. There were times when I was so frightened that it seemed like my obsessive-compulsive disorder was triggered. The more I thought about it, the more terrified I became, and I had to tie myself to a tree on the rocky mountain to stand up and take pictures.

In just two minutes, the sun was swallowed by clouds. Luckily, it was a rare moment of partial visibility. As daybreak dawned, laughter echoed from the silent valley. I looked up at the higher cliffs nearby and saw the village woman, gathering herbs, climbing the rocks. She was accompanied by a white-haired old man, who trekked along the cliff face with the grace of a monkey, glimpsing the cliff face in a flash. I was so moved that I didn't have time to take a photo.

It is said to be the last Shangri-La in East China. After climbing for a few hours, I was really stunned by its beauty!

Xianju Gongyu has simple farmers, beautiful scenery, and unforgettable native chickens.

A place suitable for hiking, it is a good place to exercise one's will. The transportation is quite convenient. You can get off at the Gongyun exit of the highway and walk through a gravel road. It takes about 2 hours to hike up to Gongyun Village one way. You can go down the mountain faster. Along the way, you will meet fellow hikers going down the mountain and encourage each other. I like this feeling.

The original ecological village, surrounded by mountains, is particularly magnificent.

Gongyu is a place I must recommend. It was once an abandoned village, but thanks to tourism and word of mouth, this village with only 13 or 14 households has been revitalized. Every weekend, tourists from around the country and abroad come here looking for peace and tranquility away from the city. At sunrise and sunset, Gongyu's beauty is extremely shocking, like a fairyland on earth.

I just suddenly miss you so much. Ever since that time travel in 2009, you, hidden away in seclusion and unknown to the world, have been etched deeply in my mind. I look forward to my next visit. Gongyuyan is a relatively pristine place, suitable for tent camping and staying in farmhouses. The price of food and accommodation in farmhouses is affordable, around 350 yuan per person, but the conditions in farmhouses are a bit poor, making them difficult for most city dwellers to adapt to. When visiting there, it's best to stay overnight to experience the sunrise and sunset and soak in the rural atmosphere. That's the most comfortable place.

The Shanghai Outdoor Group departed from Shanghai on Friday evening and stayed overnight at Xianju Village. On Saturday, they reached the Gongyu Scenic Area and climbed Gongyubei. The scenery was beautiful and the hike lasted about 3-4 hours.

We hiked to Gongyu Mountain in a drizzling rain. It was early spring, so the weather was cold and the rice seedlings hadn't been planted yet in the terraced fields. Our planned climb to the summit of Gongyubei was canceled due to the rain, and the path down was a bit slippery.

But the whole trip was very happy because we had a very good leader and very happy teammates.

Admittedly, the accommodations aren't particularly good. Farmers only provide beds and bedding, and hot showers cost 10 yuan each. There are only two public toilets in the village, and they're quite dirty. The meals are also quite basic. But considering the location is deep in the mountains, this is understandable and acceptable.

Beginner hikers should like this route, but those who like leisure travel are advised not to go for it.

There is no road, and it takes nearly 2 hours to climb the mountain to get there.
