It is a landmark attraction of West Lake. It was built by Qian Hongchu, the king of Wuyue, because his wife gave birth to a son. Now it is more famous because of the "Legend of the White Snake".
"Leifeng Pagoda is like an old monk, Baochu Pagoda is like a beauty." Leifeng Pagoda and Baochu Pagoda face each other across the lake, presenting the beautiful scenery of "two pagodas reflected in one lake, facing each other from north to south".
Whenever the sun sets, the tower's shadow crosses the sky, creating a unique scene, so it is called "Leifeng Sunset".

This time we set out in the afternoon and took a bus directly to the Leifeng Pagoda. Taking the elevator up, we first saw the protected Leifeng Pagoda ruins. I remembered that I had learned Lu Xun's "On the Collapse of Leifeng Pagoda" in junior high school. Today, I actually came to the foot of Leifeng Pagoda. The ruins are well protected, and no one can steal a brick from the pagoda to ward off evil and bring good fortune.
Going up, the reliefs on the first floor of the tower tell the story of White Snake and Xu Xian, which is amazing. The carvings are so exquisite! Each floor of the tower is a picture or electronic book display of the same theme, but I think none of them are as amazing as the reliefs on the first floor. Climbing the tower to a high place, you can overlook the whole view of West Lake. The weather is gloomy and the season is early, so the overall view of West Lake from a bird's eye view is not very moving. The exhibits in Lei Feng Tower are simple and thin, which is a little different from my previous imagination; both are rebuilt, and I think the settings in Tengwang Pavilion are much better than Lei Feng Tower.
Leifeng Pagoda is a landmark attraction of West Lake. It was built by King Qian Hongchu of Wuyue for his wife to give birth to a child, but it is estimated that more people know it because of the touching love story of "Legend of the White Snake". Monk Fahai tricked Xu Xian to Jinshan Mountain. White Snake flooded Jinshan Mountain to save Xu Xian and was trapped under Leifeng Pagoda by Fahai. Later, Xiaoqing practiced magic and finally defeated Fahai. Leifeng Pagoda collapsed and Bai Suzhen was rescued. The old Leifeng Pagoda collapsed in 1924 and was rebuilt later. The newly built Leifeng Pagoda is the first colored bronze pagoda in China. The appearance is antique, but the inside is actually quite modern.
"Leifeng is like an old monk, Baochu is like a beauty". Leifeng Pagoda and Baochu Pagoda on Beishan face each other across the lake, presenting a beautiful scene of "two pagodas reflected in one lake, facing each other from north to south". Whenever the sun sets, the shadows of the pagodas cross the sky, creating a unique scene, so it is called "Leifeng Sunset", which is one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake.
After we climbed to the top floor, we walked outside the tower to look down. The sun had already set, but the beautiful scenery of West Lake was still in full view. At that time, the pixel of the mobile phone was limited, so the effect could not be captured. The wind on the top of the tower was quite strong, blowing us like crazy women. After walking around the tower outside, we returned to the tower and walked down layer by layer. Although we were in a hurry, we still felt that it was worth the fare. At this time, there were not many group tourists, and we did not get the tour guide to explain, so we could only look at it slowly by ourselves. There are various exquisite wood carvings and murals and related stories on each floor, which are dazzling.
For an archaeology enthusiast like me, the second floor is of course my favorite. Inside the second floor of the base, the remaining bricks of the ancient tower are covered with glass, which is the only ancient artifact preserved in the tower.
The Lei Feng Pagoda Scenic Area is actually quite large, and there are many places to visit. Unfortunately, our time was limited, so we basically only visited the main tower carefully.
Arrived at the pier, walked for about ten minutes to the Leifeng Pagoda scenic area, very good, it is open today. I won't mention buying tickets to enter the gate. In the courtyard, there is an elevator to the bottom of the Leifeng Pagoda. Take the escalator to the bottom of the tower, and go directly through the gate into the tower. Do you still remember the junior high school text, Mr. Lu Xun's "On the Collapse of Leifeng Pagoda"? That's right, the original Leifeng Pagoda collapsed during the Republic of China, and the Leifeng Pagoda in front of us now is a new one. However, this Leifeng Pagoda is not a new pagoda built by demolishing the old one, but a new pagoda built around the ruins of the original collapsed old pagoda, and the ruins of the old pagoda are completely wrapped inside. When you enter the pagoda, you can see the ruins of the collapsed Leifeng Pagoda. The Hangzhou government's protection idea is still unique and ingenious. Speaking of Leifeng Pagoda, the legend of White Snake cannot be avoided. Thinking back to the 1990s, the ratings of the Legend of the New White Snake were simply off the charts. At that time, during the winter and summer vacations, the TV station showed White Snake in addition to Journey to the West. Although my daughter has not watched the TV series, she has just watched the movie "White Snake" and is very interested in the legend of the White Snake. She spent a long time reading the introductions in the tower. We went up to the second floor and came out of the tower. There are elevators and stairs to the top of the tower to overlook the West Lake. However, facing the length of the queue, I couldn't help but think of the terrible queue experience at the Guangzhou Tower... Let's leave.
I heard that Leifeng Pagoda originated from "The Legend of the White Snake". Bai Suzhen flooded Jinshan Mountain to save Xu Xian and was trapped in the tower by Fahai. Later, Xiaoqing defeated Fahai, Leifeng Pagoda collapsed, and Bai Suzhen was released! This is a folk story! When I was in middle school, I also learned a text written by Mr. Lu Xun, "On the Collapse of Leifeng Pagoda". Not only did I have to read it aloud, but I also had to recite it. It was the top priority of the exam! Today I finally saw the legendary Leifeng Pagoda. Of course, this is the Leifeng Pagoda after reconstruction. Leifeng Sunset is one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake. The newly built Leifeng Pagoda is the first colored bronze pagoda in China, which is particularly high-end and classy. First, take the escalator to enter the tower, and then there is an elevator directly to the top of the tower. It is really a lazy person's welfare. It's just that there are many tourists here, and there are many people waiting for the elevator, but the order of the queue is maintained very well! The view at the top of the tower is wide, and the beautiful scenery of West Lake can be seen at a glance, and many beautiful pictures were taken. After visiting the top floor, walk down the stairs one by one. The content of the exhibition on each floor is different. I like the wood carvings on one floor the most. It is not an exaggeration to describe it as exquisite! The bottom floor is the ruins of Leifeng Pagoda. You can see the ruins surrounded by glass. The contrast between the old and new towers is particularly shocking!
What is particularly humane is that there is an elevator to climb the tower! This is really a great treat for lazy people like us. The exterior of the Leifeng Pagoda that we can see with our naked eyes was built later. After entering the tower, you can see part of the original site. Climbing to the highest point, you can overlook the West Lake and see the island in the lake and the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. There are also many explanation signs in the scenic area that tell the story of White Snake.
The beauty of this place lies in the fact that every step brings a new scene, and every glance can be appreciated.
Leifeng Pagoda collapsed. See Lu Xun's "On the Collapse of Leifeng Pagoda". The original foundation of the pagoda still exists, which is a brick-and-earth structure. Now a new pagoda has been built on the original foundation. There are a few opinions: 1. The original pagoda was built of bricks, and I imagine there are weeds in the gaps between the bricks. The west side of the pagoda is the surface of West Lake, which is relatively open. The sunset at that time was dyed golden by the golden sunlight, which should be a very good Leifeng sunset. The new pagoda is a wooden structure, and the sunset has no effect when it shines on it. 2. It's okay to watch the sunset outside, but the effect is gone when you enter the Xizhao Temple. 3. The new pagoda has two elevators and an escalator to go up the mountain, and the service is first-class.
I have heard that the current Leifeng Pagoda is no longer the original one, but when I really see this tower in front of me, I still feel a little sad. After entering from the underground floor, you can see the ruins of the Leifeng Pagoda that was once sung by poets and people. The new tower was actually rebuilt on the original site of the old tower in the Wuyue period. The original tower was probably built to enshrine the Buddha's hair relics. Later, it collapsed for various reasons. Leifeng Pagoda is well-known because of the folk legend of White Snake and Xu Xian, although the real Leifeng Pagoda has nothing to do with this. However, when rebuilding the new tower, wood carvings based on the familiar story background of the Legend of the White Snake were displayed on the entire circle of the inner wall. It is really super exquisite! It is really thoughtful, so that we can remember this beautiful legend from generation to generation.
2020.10.7 The first stop of the West Lake trip - Leifeng Pagoda; a pagoda with a legendary story; although it was built on the original foundation, you can still feel the profound Buddhist culture;
Leifeng Pagoda collapsed once before, and was rebuilt later. You need to buy a ticket separately, which can be purchased directly from the official account, 40 per person. You need to go through security to enter. Leifeng Pagoda looks better under the sunset.
The tower has an elevator, and even the uphill outside has an escalator. This is the first time I have seen it! However, the scale inside is really large. In addition, the original tower where White Snake lived is completely wrapped inside, which is also a unique design.
Across the road from Jingci Temple is Leifeng Pagoda, formerly known as Huangfei Pagoda. It was named Leifeng Pagoda because it was built on Leifeng Mountain. It was built in 997, more than 1,000 years ago. The original building collapsed in 1924, when archaeologists unearthed a large number of precious cultural relics. The existing Leifeng Pagoda is newly built, and the bricks from the collapse are preserved in the building for tourists to visit.
Looking out to Jingci Temple from the Leifeng Pagoda, for more than a thousand years, they have been paying attention to each other and witnessing each other's changes.
Although I didn't like watching the Legend of the White Snake when I was a child, I was familiar with the story of White Snake and Xu Xian. When I came to Hangzhou again, Leifeng Pagoda was a must-see attraction.
After leaving Yuewang Temple, we walked along Su Causeway to the foot of Leifeng Pagoda. We found that it was quite different from what we had imagined. Probably to facilitate tourists, escalators were installed outside the pagoda and elevators were installed inside the pagoda. The interior decoration was also quite modern. To borrow the words of a local friend in Hangzhou, the interior looked a bit like a science and technology museum. Having said that, the trip to Leifeng Pagoda was still worthwhile. Not only could you see the place where the White Snake was imprisoned in the legend, but you could also enjoy the beautiful sunset over the West Lake in Hangzhou.
The famous Leifeng Pagoda is located on the south bank of the West Lake. Although there is no White Snake here, it is famous. There is no reason not to visit Leifeng Pagoda when you come to West Lake. The current Leifeng Pagoda was built a long time ago. The ticket to the scenic area is 40 yuan. There is an elevator inside to the top. There is nothing to see, but after reaching the top, you can overlook the entire West Lake and take pictures! From Leifeng Pagoda, you can walk along the shore of West Lake to the east of West Lake. The ten scenic spots of West Lake that you can pass by along the way include "Nanping Evening Bell", "Leifeng Sunset" and "Willow Waves Singing Orioles"!
Leifeng Pagoda, a place I learned about in Legend of White Snake... Located by the West Lake... There are so many people during the Spring Festival!!! I heard that the parking fee at the West Lake during the Spring Festival is 30 yuan/hour, everyone must ask clearly!
Leifeng Pagoda Sunset. It's a pity that I didn't go there when the sun was setting.
Leifeng Pagoda is located on Leifeng Mountain of Xizhao Mountain on the south bank of West Lake Scenic Area. Leifeng Pagoda was first built in 977 AD by Qian Hongchu, the loyal and righteous king of Wuyue, to enshrine the Buddha's hair relics. Because the pagoda was completed at the time when the Northern Song Dynasty posthumously named Qian Hongchu's recently deceased wife Sun as "Imperial Concubine", it was named "Imperial Concubine Pagoda". Later, because the mountain where it is located is called "Leifeng", it gradually became known as "Leifeng Pagoda".
The most impressive thing about Leifeng Pagoda is the story in The Legend of White Snake, where the monk Fahai tricked Xu Xian into going to Jinshan Mountain, and Bai Suzhen flooded Jinshan Mountain to save Xu Xian, but was trapped under Leifeng Pagoda by Fahai. Later, Xiaoqing practiced her magic and finally defeated Fahai, and Leifeng Pagoda collapsed, and Bai Suzhen was rescued.
The old Leifeng Pagoda collapsed in 1924 and was rebuilt later. The newly built Leifeng Pagoda is the first colored bronze pagoda in China. Leifeng Sunset is one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake. It is one of the important scenic spots of West Lake.
After the new Leifeng Pagoda was built, it is now more like a West Lake viewing platform. Inside the new pagoda, the base of the old pagoda has been completely protected. There are two straight elevators inside the Leifeng Pagoda, one going up and one going down. There is also an elevator from the scenic area entrance to the tower entrance, but it only goes up, so you still have to walk a long way to leave the scenic area after visiting.
I have waited a thousand years, waited a thousand years. Leifeng Pagoda is magnificent. Looking at it from a distance, I feel awe. I am afraid that Fahai will take me away. There are many tourists in the pagoda, so you must find a good angle to take pictures.
Waiting for a thousand years, waiting for a return~ When I come to West Lake, I think of the Legend of the White Snake, and when I come to Leifeng Pagoda, I think of the White Snake who flooded Jinshan Mountain to save Xu Xian and was imprisoned under Leifeng Pagoda by Fahai.
🎫The ticket is 40 yuan. It is not tiring to visit Leifeng Pagoda. The pagoda was rebuilt later and rebuilt on the site, retaining the pavilion-style structure before the old pagoda was burned down. You can use the escalator before going up the pagoda, and there is also an elevator inside the pagoda. Don't worry about climbing the stairs. After a day of touring the West Lake, it is really tiring to climb the stairs. You can see the entire West Lake from the top.
I watched it from a distance on the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon Island. The weather was bad that day, and it felt like a misty rain in the south of the Yangtze River. I brought my children with me and had limited time, so I just watched it from a distance. I finally saw the place where the White Snake was imprisoned, which was satisfying.
Tickets: 40 yuan
There is no group that gets free tickets. People over 70 years old and other preferential groups must also buy half-price tickets for 20 yuan.
Take the bus to Jingsi Station and walk along the road, and you will see the large stone tablet of the Leifeng Pagoda Scenic Area.
When you enter the scenic area, the first thing you see is a release pond. There are many fish and turtles in the pond, swimming leisurely in the water.
Next to the release pond is a yellow screen wall with "Namo Amitabha" written on it, and on the back of this wall is "Sunset Yuxiu".
There was no good scenery on the west side of the scenic area. We took a photo of a small pavilion and then returned to the ticket office of Leifeng Pagoda.
Leifeng Pagoda, the place where the legend of "The Legend of White Snake" is carried, but...
The real Leifeng Pagoda collapsed a long time ago. This one is a reconstruction. It is totally different from before the collapse!
As you can see from the scenic area guide map, it is not very big and the entrance fee is 40 yuan, which I personally feel is not worth it.
The Lingyin Temple has a history of more than 1,600 years and is such a large place, but it only costs 30 yuan. Yet, a modern replica of yours costs 40 yuan. I can only laugh.
I didn't go in to take a look, but I took a photo at the door so I could say I had been there.
But it cannot be denied that as a commanding point on the south line of West Lake, Leifeng Pagoda is indeed a good place to overlook West Lake.
But I have already prepared other places to climb and look far, so it doesn’t matter if you don’t climb the tower~o(* ̄︶ ̄*)o
If you want to take pictures of the tower, just walk to the street.
The new Leifeng Pagoda was built directly on the site of the old Leifeng Pagoda. You can have a panoramic view of the entire West Lake from the top of the tower.
I went there for the Legend of the White Snake. The Leifeng Tower is not high, but the view is nice.
Because of that beautiful myth, every visitor to West Lake must come here to worship.
White Snake, I'm here to save you, wait for me, hoo hoo hoo
Climbing the tower to have a panoramic view of West Lake is probably the best place to view the lake in Hangzhou.
The night view is actually more beautiful. But girls, don't go there casually, because it is a place where ladies are subdued.
It is newly built and not very interesting. There are some remnants of the original Leifeng Pagoda, which still gives it a sense of history. You can go upstairs and see the panoramic view of West Lake, which is great.
You need to buy a separate ticket. There is an elevator in the tower, which can save you some energy for climbing the tower, haha. After climbing the tower, you can look down at the panoramic view of West Lake, which is very beautiful.
Leifeng Pagoda is very advanced, with an elevator inside, and it is still nice to take a look at the top of the tower.
Standing on the top of Leifeng Pagoda and looking into the distance, you can see the entire West Lake and even the whole Hangzhou, and see the vast Chutian sky as far as the eye can see. Perhaps this is what it feels like.
One of the West Lake attractions. I didn't go in, so I don't know what it looks like.
"The clouds and the clouds are moving up and down the building, and the moon is rising and setting on the bed." A thousand-year-old story, an everlasting legend. It tells people's yearning for that beautiful love...
The scenery is pretty good, and I mainly want to see what kind of pagoda can suppress Bai Suzhen
Lei Feng has been modernized. There are no White Snake and Xu Xian, only elevators and QR codes.
When you are in front of Leifeng Pagoda, you will be shocked by its height and grandeur. You have to raise your head to look at it. Staring quietly, the blue sky, the tower and the ancient trees form a magnificent picture, which makes people feel awe. Following the tourists, we came to the elevator and took the gradually rising elevator, getting closer and closer to Leifeng Pagoda. As early as when I was in elementary school, I heard that there was a Leifeng Pagoda, but that was just a legend. I only heard about it in books. Decades have passed, and now I can see the real appearance of Leifeng Pagoda, which makes me feel a little excited. In fact, the real pagoda has collapsed long ago. Although the modern Leifeng Pagoda is magnificent, it does not have any vicissitudes. Entering the pagoda, you can only see the only remains in the exhibition hall to peek into the distant past. Those remains have been covered with thick glass, which makes them more mysterious and precious.
The feeling of looking at Leifeng Pagoda during the day and at night is different.
It is worth seeing. There is an introduction to the murals on each floor of Leifeng Pagoda. The paintings are really lifelike.
When you go to West Lake, you can just walk around the lake. I personally think it is not necessary to go to Leifeng Pagoda, and the ticket is not cheap, but you can see West Lake from the top, so you can go there if you want.
The scenery on the top of the tower is really beautiful. It is refreshing to look far into the distance.
For the company's team building, we were only given half a day to travel freely, and could only choose one place to check in, so everyone decided to come and see White Snake.
Once you stand on the tower, you won't want to get off... You can see the West Lake, Su Causeway, Bai Causeway and the lakeside buildings. I was so moved by the beautiful scenery.
The shadow of Leifeng Pagoda came closer and closer. After walking for more than an hour, we finally arrived at today's destination. Climbing up a small slope and turning a corner, we saw a big pagoda standing in front of us. This is the legendary Leifeng Pagoda, the Leifeng Pagoda in the Legend of the New White Snake. "The beauty of West Lake has lasted for thousands of years! If you are destined to meet, you will meet thousands of miles away. If you are not destined to meet, it is difficult to hold hands......
After buying the tickets and entering the scenic area, I didn’t expect there was an elevator. If Fahai saw that there was an elevator going up the mountain of Leifeng Pagoda, I wonder what he would think. As an engineering guy, I was thinking about the IP level of protection. What should I do if it rains on this open-air elevator? Will it rust? Is there any fault protection for short circuits? . . . . .
Entering the tower, the first floor is the former site of Leifeng Pagoda. According to official records, who knows how many times this tower has collapsed? How many times has it been rebuilt? Anyway, it is not clearly stated which chapter the White Snake is in. From some of the ground brick and earth structures, it can be seen that it has indeed gone through a lot of hardships. However, it is said that many scriptures and treasures such as stupas were found in the collapsed ruins. It is a blessing in disguise for us, the latecomers, to allow these cultural relics to reappear in the world. When I reached the second floor, there was actually a direct elevator. Oh my god. Hangzhou is really rich.
After climbing layer after layer, my wife would go out to see the scenery at each floor. There was really a layer of scenery, and each layer was more exciting than the last. When I reached the top floor, I found that Leifeng Pagoda was really high. Standing on the tower and holding the railing tightly, I felt like "there are always unruly people who want to harm me" (actually I am afraid of heights). Looking far into the distance, the entire West Lake is in full view, with rippling blue waves and countless cruise ships wandering on the water. The small island in the center of the lake also adds a touch of vitality to the plain lake water. Coming to the other side of the tower, the sunset slowly fell down the mountain. The peaks are stacked, layer by layer, and the scenes seem to add countless veils. The sunset is not dazzling, but it reflects the sunset glow on the horizon and the pretty face of my wife. Lei Feng Evening Glow - one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake, is indeed worthy of its reputation.
Coming down from the top of the tower, each floor of the tower is filled with calligraphy and paintings by ancient masters, scriptures, and exhibits. But the most unforgettable thing is the six reliefs of the Legend of White Snake, which vividly depict all the plots of White Snake and Xu Xian from their acquaintance, love, forced separation to their reunion. The carvings are exquisite and lifelike, with every feather, every strand of hair, every soldier and even every passerby different. It can be said that every detail is perfect.
You can go up there if you buy a ticket, and the view is great. But the best way to visit Leifeng Pagoda is to watch the sunset at Liu'an Wenying.
I went to Leifeng Pagoda from the bottom to the top and walked around. There is an elevator in the pagoda, which is quite convenient. I looked at the scenery on the top floor. The West Lake is beautiful, but the view is not amazing.
Now you can go up to Leifeng Pagoda, and there is an elevator, which is quite easy.
The tower itself is not interesting because it is newly rebuilt. There are ruins of the former Lei Feng Tower inside. The rest are relatively new. There is an elevator inside, but you usually have to wait in line for a long time. Fortunately, I saw the sunset when I climbed to the top of the tower. It was beautiful.
Leifeng Pagoda Sunset is one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake. "The cultural relics unearthed from the underground palace of Leifeng Pagoda are very rich, which is a concentrated reflection of the prosperity of the Wuyue Kingdom. It has very important value and significance for studying the technological achievements and the influence of Buddhist culture at that time."
There are towers with escalators and elevators. The location is very good, but the internal information maintenance really needs to be more serious. The machine for self-service viewing of the Legend of the White Snake is really not easy to use
The ticket is 40 yuan per ticket, which is the highest point in the West Lake Scenic Area. The scenery above is good, and the overall scenery of the West Lake can be seen. However, I went there in the morning, so I didn't see the Lei Feng Sunset, one of the ten scenic spots of the West Lake.
Leifeng Pagoda, also known as the Imperial Concubine Pagoda and Xiguan Brick Pagoda, is located on Leifeng Mountain on the south bank of the West Lake Scenic Area in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province. Leifeng Pagoda was built by Qian Hongchu, the loyal and righteous king of Wuyue, because his concubine Huang had a son. It was originally named "Imperial Concubine Pagoda" because it was built on Leifeng Mountain. Later generations renamed it "Leifeng Pagoda". In the Chinese folk tale "The Legend of the White Snake", the monk Fahai tricked Xu Xian to Jinshan Mountain. The White Snake flooded Jinshan Mountain to save Xu Xian and was trapped under the Leifeng Pagoda by Fahai. Leifeng Sunset is one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake.
The design of using an escalator to reach the entrance of the tower is very considerate to me, who has walked a large circle of West Lake on foot. Leifeng Pagoda has actually been rebuilt several times on the original site. What is very touching is the modern renovation, which protects and displays the base and underground palace, which were originally in ruins, in an open way that can avoid being touched by tourists. Looking at the loess and yellow bricks from the Song Dynasty from a distance, I always feel that time seems to have stopped. The collapsed part makes me feel sorry and emotional, and the intact part fascinates me. Because after so many years, I can still see the stairs, walkways, and the underground palace entrance surrounded by layers when it was built. Although it is only a corner, it is enough.
In order to save some effort, I followed the team and took the elevator to the fourth floor. When I walked to the corridor outside the tower, I couldn't help but say to myself that I finally knew what it meant to be so beautiful! I really admire the ancients for being able to write so many moving poems when they climbed high and looked far, because at this moment, I can only say "too beautiful, too beautiful" at a loss for words. The wind on the tower was very strong, disturbing the tourists' hair and stirring our hearts. Here you can have a panoramic view of the West Lake: I saw the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon Island, and boats were sailing on the lake to and from the island and other places; I saw the Su Causeway that has existed since the Song Dynasty and has been continuously improved, and I was amazed that I had walked such a long way today; I saw the long Nanping Mountain and the Jingci Temple lying quietly in the middle, and I was a little regretful that I missed the opportunity to see the Nanping Evening Bell. Standing here, my heart has been taken to a very far distance by the wind. Let the wind continue to blow.
After enjoying the view from the top of the tower, I walked down the tower layer by layer. In the middle layer, the entire Legend of the White Snake was exhibited, which was carved with wood. The craftsmanship was very exquisite and it was lifelike under the light. Perhaps it was because I saw it here, although it was a wooden product that could not speak, the emotions it conveyed were stronger and more impactful than those in movies and TV shows.
Although I have known for a long time that the current Leifeng Pagoda was rebuilt and the original one had collapsed, after entering I felt that the ticket price was not worth it. Inside the pagoda are the remains of the original pagoda. The general appearance of the original pagoda can no longer be seen, only a pile of wreckage.
Then we took the elevator to the top of the tower, where we could see the entire West Lake. The West Lake was really beautiful, but there were also many tourists in the tower.
Leifeng Pagoda is built on a mountain. No wonder it is so high. Ancient people were willing to build temples and pagodas on mountains. Tickets are the same price when bought online or on site.
What a modern Leifeng Pagoda
But I don't think I have the stamina to climb the stairs. They are so high and there are several escalators.
Woodcarving of Xu Xian and White Snake in the tower
The wood carvings are lifelike and the technique is really good
We didn't take the elevator up because there were so many people lining up for the elevator. Someone said it would be dark by the time we got there, so we all chose to go up by stairs.
I probably climbed six or seven floors. It didn't look like that many floors. I don't know how I climbed that high.
Unfortunately, the weather is bad and the view from a high place is not very good.
Leifeng Pagoda Scenic Area (student ticket 20) is really user-friendly. There are escalators outside the tower and sightseeing elevators inside the tower. However, there are too many people taking the elevator and there is a long queue. We chose to walk up and sit down (fewer people)
There is a release pond in the Lei Feng Pagoda Scenic Area.
From the top of the tower you can see the panoramic view of West Lake.
Leifeng Pagoda Lighthouse is 40 yuan for adults and 20 yuan for children. It overlooks the West Lake and is worth it. The new Leifeng Pagoda was built on the ruins of the collapsed Leifeng Pagoda. It is even more beautiful to overlook the West Lake from Leifeng Pagoda.
Leifeng Pagoda should be one of the must-see attractions in Hangzhou. Do you still remember the "Legend of the White Snake" that I watched when I was a child (revealing my age...) At that time, I remember that White Snake was pressed under the Leifeng Pagoda and cried for a long time... The ticket to Leifeng Pagoda is 40 yuan, and there is a back mountain behind it. The Leifeng Sunset Monument is just behind it, so you must spray floral water when you come here! (The mosquitoes here in Hangzhou are particularly poisonous! Be careful! Otherwise you will be eaten!!!)
Overall it's OK. The real tower has collapsed and it's a fake one now. But it's nice to climb up to see the West Lake and the surrounding scenery. The wood carving of the story of the Legend of the White Snake is well done.
This Leifeng Pagoda was rebuilt on the original site. The long escalator takes you to the bottom of the tower and you can see the original tower base. You can take the elevator to the top of the tower or walk up. The top of the tower overlooks the West Lake and is very beautiful. There are exquisite wood carvings and murals on each floor telling related stories. There is also a small building for worshipping relics and cultural relics unearthed from the tower base next to the tower. The ticket price is relatively reasonable.
Leifeng sunset. Very beautiful~~~~~~~~
The Leifeng Pagoda closes at 8pm. I recommend going to the Leifeng Pagoda after watching the sunset at about 6pm, climbing the tower to see the West Lake scenery, and then visiting the temple while there is still light. If you are not interested in Buddhism, you don't have to go in. The ticket is 20 yuan.
Leifeng Pagoda is very high, and it is perfect for viewing the scenery. You can overlook the vastness of West Lake and boating (you can take the sightseeing elevator or take the stairs to go up the tower. There are many people queuing for the elevator. Personally, I suggest that if you are with children who need to use strollers, elderly people in wheelchairs, or people with inconvenient legs and feet, you can choose to queue for the elevator. Otherwise, it is faster to take the stairs. It is actually okay to visit and rest after climbing one floor. It is not very tiring.)
The beautiful scenery of West Lake in Hangzhou, Leifeng Pagoda, Legend of the White Snake, and beauty all seem to be related to the beautiful scenery of Hangzhou. It is worth a visit.
It is said that it was built later. The sun was not out either. So there was no sunset view.
The walls of the Leifeng Pagoda are decorated with murals of White Snake and Xu Xian and other figures, and the base of the pagoda is the former foundation of the Leifeng Pagoda. The view of West Lake from the pagoda is excellent.
After coming out of the underwater world, we walked back to Leifeng Pagoda with ease. There was an elevator to Leifeng Pagoda! I was really surprised. There is an open-air escalator outside, which can go directly to the main entrance. Then you can choose to climb the stairs or queue up for the elevator. Su Jiang and I took the elevator without hesitation. There were not many people in the queue. When we came up, it started to rain outside again. It was a special feeling to look at the West Lake in the rain from the tower.
After I went there, I realized that this was the newly built Leifeng Pagoda. No wonder there is an elevator and an underground transparent coin pool. The view from the tower is pretty good~
The history of Leifeng Pagoda is also full of disasters. It has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. Now we see the Leifeng Pagoda with elevators, which is heavily commercialized and cannot ward off evil spirits. The top of the pagoda overlooks the beautiful scenery of the entire West Lake. My daughter read the love story of White Snake and Xu Xian carefully in the drizzle.
The rebuilt Leifeng Pagoda is tall and handsome, less ancient and more modern. Leifeng Pagoda has a direct elevator. When you reach the top floor, you can overlook the West Lake Scenic Area, which is very beautiful. On the other side of the tower is the Leifeng Pagoda Underground Palace Unearthed Cultural Relics Exhibition, which is full of treasures.
It doesn't matter whether the sunset is beautiful or not, but I knew about Leifeng Pagoda before I knew about West Lake, all thanks to the TV series "Legend of the White Snake" when I was a child. So Leifeng Pagoda is a must-visit. But what about Jinshan Temple? Where is it?
This tower was rebuilt; the old one was said to have been destroyed by lightning.
The mythological story has made it very famous. The tower is located by the West Lake and the original site is very well protected. An elevator has been installed so that the elderly can also climb the tower and overlook the scenery of the West Lake.
Leifeng Pagoda Sunset is one of the ten scenic spots of West Lake, but due to the rainy day, we did not enjoy the beautiful sunset, so we had to overlook the whole view of West Lake from Leifeng Pagoda. Leifeng Pagoda was rebuilt later, the old pagoda collapsed, so the base of the new pagoda is the old pagoda ruins, there are reliefs, murals and other exhibits inside the pagoda, you can get a glimpse of the whole view of West Lake from the pagoda, there are a lot of queues for the elevator, just climb up, it is not very high and there is air conditioning
Buy tickets separately. There is a distance to go up and you can take the escalator ~ not tiring. There is no escalator when you come down. Climbing the tower starts from the third floor, and you can queue up for the elevator. It looks crowded, but the wait is actually very fast. There is no need to climb up breathlessly. The first and second floors are the ruins of Leifeng Pagoda. Scan the WeChat QR code at the door to hear a very detailed introduction, and there are audio guides for each floor of the tower.
There is an elevator on the tower, so you don't have to worry. We walked for a long time from the car we got off at Longxiang Bridge. If you want to go to Leifeng Pagoda, it is recommended to take a taxi directly to Leifeng Pagoda, because it is still a long way to the station. If you want to go to Broken Bridge, you can get off at the subway station, but it will take more than half an hour to walk. In short, what I want to express is that West Lake is a big circle, and it is difficult to visit these two attractions in one day without taking a boat.
