Adjacent to West Lake, it is the earliest Buddhist temple in China and one of the ten ancient temples in China, with many exquisite cultural relics from various dynasties preserved.
A plaque with the words "Yunlin Zen Temple" hangs above the Heavenly King Hall, which was written by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Treasures in the temple are gathered here.
There are many fantastic and varied caves and gullies on the mountain, which are dotted with Buddhist cave statues dating back to the Five Dynasties. They are rare ancient cave art treasures in Jiangnan, my country.
This is the place where Jigong became a monk. It is said that the wishes he made are very effective. There is an endless stream of pilgrims coming here to worship Buddha and pray for blessings every day.

Lingyin Temple
It is really important to choose a good name, and Lingyin Temple is a typical example. Before I decided to come to Lingyin Temple, I knew nothing about it except the name. I just thought the name was cool and had a story, so I came.
Then I found out that it has a long history and that Jigong is also here. Because I just went to Putuo Mountain not long ago, I couldn't help but compare the details with the temples on Putuo Mountain.
Although it is not as deep as the rain forest in the Putuo Mountain Temple, as an ancient temple with a history of more than a thousand years, the trees in Lingyin Temple are lush and green. What's even better about Lingyin Temple is that its buildings are really tall and spectacular. This is probably the largest main hall and the largest Buddha in a temple I have ever seen. There is also the "卍"-shaped Hall of Five Hundred Arhats, which is full of design and very shocking. It is worthy of being a thousand-year-old temple.
On the other hand, the bamboo forest between the Sutra Library and the Huayan Hall of Lingyin Temple is also very artistic, with the yellow wall and red pavilion in the background, a new scene at every step, very ornamental. This is something I have never seen in other temples (the ones I saw before were either planted outside the temple).
In terms of service, Lingyin Temple is even more commendable. Not only are there vegetarian dishes, but Lingyin Temple also prohibits pilgrims from burning their own incense in the temple, so the temple is not filled with smoke and at least there is fresh air to breathe. It is not like Putuo Mountain, where such fresh air is wasted in vain.
In addition, I unexpectedly discovered that Lingyin Temple also had the existence of Jigong, whom I particularly admired, so Lingyin Temple suddenly became the first temple I have visited and my favorite!
Lingyin Temple is a famous tourist attraction in Hangzhou. People usually come here to visit when they come to Hangzhou.
Of course, in addition to tourists, there are also many pilgrims. Lingyin Temple is an ancient temple in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It has been popular since ancient times and it is still popular now.
If you want to experience the Buddhist culture of Hangzhou, you should visit Lingyin Temple.
There are two tickets to enter Lingyin Temple. The first one is 45 yuan, including Feilai Peak, Yongfu Temple, Taoguang Temple, etc. This one can use the park card.
The second is the ticket to Lingyin Temple, which costs 30 yuan and can be paid with a temple card.
In addition, Lingyin Temple is open to the public for free on several days a day, one is Laba, which is the day when Buddha became enlightened, another is Buddha's birthday, and it seems that Guanyin's birthday is also open. You can pay attention to the WeChat and Weibo of Lingyin Temple for details, which will be announced in advance.
On the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month, Lingyin Temple will provide free porridge, Laba porridge. I have been there twice and it was always packed with people.
In the past, there were all kinds of incense burning everywhere in Lingyin Temple, which was sometimes very choking. Since the implementation of civilized incense burning (each person is given three sticks of environmentally friendly incense, and no one is allowed to bring their own), it feels much better.
During important festivals, you can also see masters performing rituals and chanting sutras.
Lingyin Temple is built on the mountain, with halls rising one after another. There are exhibits in one of the upper halls. One of them is a very interesting portrait of Jigong. No matter which direction you look at him from, he will smile at you. This is like Mona Lisa, very magical. There are also some small bronze Buddha statues, jade Buddha statues, etc.
There are vegetarian restaurants and noodle restaurants in Lingyin Temple, but they are said to be a bit expensive. Lingyin Temple’s WeChat has pushed many vegetarian recipes.
Lingyin Temple is located in the Lingyin Feilai Peak Scenic Area. You still need to buy a ticket to enter. There are still a lot of people going to Lingyin Temple, and the incense is very popular. You need to buy another ticket to enter Lingyin Temple, and it is a one-way street. You can only enter from the main gate and the back door. It is still very crowded. After coming out of the back door, you can climb directly to Feilai Peak. This road is closer.
Strolling along the main road, looking at the statues, streams, lush forests, and rock walls along the way, you will arrive at the "Lingyin Temple Ticket Office" unknowingly.
After exiting the ticket office, the real entrance to Lingyin Temple is not far away. Walk through a yellow shed and enter.
Lingyin Temple was first built in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (326 AD), and has a history of nearly 1,700 years. It is the earliest famous temple in Hangzhou.
It is indeed a popular tourist attraction in Hangzhou. Even though it is neither a holiday nor a weekend, it still feels like there are quite a lot of people there.
But when I think about the crowds of people during the holidays, I feel very content.
Hangzhou has proposed the advocacy of "civilized incense burning". Lingyin Temple no longer sells open flame incense and candles, but instead gives away three sticks of pure incense.
Compared to thick smoke, the gradual rise of fragrance is better.
At first, I felt that the rain was a bit inconvenient and the scenery of Lingyin lacked the contrast of the bright sun.
But as I walked around the various halls and visited the Buddhas, I seemed to gradually understand the meaning of the rain.
The rain falls on your head like a dragonfly skimming the water, or like a sudden enlightenment, it awakens you and cleanses you.
This day, this rain, and this temple are so beautiful and wonderful.
It calms the noise, washes away the dross, purifies the soul, and brings back the true self.
This is the real scenery and realm of Lingyin.
Lingyin Temple is a thousand-year-old temple, and the incense is very prosperous. There was already a long queue outside before the door opened at 7:30. There were so many people that my phone had no service when I was queuing to buy tickets... Fortunately, a kind lady bought it for me first, and then transferred it to her via WeChat. I thought I wouldn't need to use cash when I came to the base camp of Alipay, but I didn't expect there would be many inconveniences. It is recommended to bring some cash when traveling, and only cash is accepted for sending blessing postcards.
Lingyin Temple is a very famous temple in China, so there are many tourists.
The ticket price for Feilai Peak is 45 yuan, and the incense ticket is 30 yuan.
The main hall is composed of the Heavenly King Hall, the Great Hall, the Medicine Buddha Hall, the Jikji Hall (Dharma Hall),
The Huayan Hall is the central axis, with the Five Hundred Arhats Hall, Jigong Hall,
It is composed of buildings such as Liandeng Pavilion, Huayan Pavilion, Dabei Tower, and Abbot Tower.
Transportation: 1. Take the train to Hangzhou Railway Station, then take Y
Take bus No. 2 to Lingyin, the fare is 3 yuan. 2. City bus:
Take bus No. 7, No. 807, No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, and get off at Lingyin Station.
It is good to spend a whole day. If you arrive at night, you can choose to stay nearby.
The B&B in Bianbai Leqiao has nice scenery and fresh air! Feel it here
The land is outstanding and the people are spiritual!
Also known as Yunlin Temple, it is located in Hangzhou City, with its back against Beigao Peak and facing Feilai Peak. It was built in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (326 AD) and covers an area of about 87,000 square meters. The founder of Lingyin Temple was the monk Huili from Western India. Qian Liu, the King of Wuyue in the Five Dynasties, ordered Master Yongming Yanshou to rebuild and open up the temple, and named it Lingyin New Temple. During the Jiading period of Emperor Ningzong of the Song Dynasty, Lingyin Temple was known as one of the "Five Mountains" of Zen Buddhism in Jiangnan. During the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, the Zen master Master Jude was the abbot of Lingyin and raised funds for reconstruction. It took 18 years to build the hall alone, and its grand scale jumped to the "crown of the southeast". Lingyin Temple is mainly composed of the Heavenly King Hall, the Great Hall, the Medicine Master Hall, the Dharma Hall, and the Huayan Hall as the central axis, with the Five Hundred Arhats Hall, the Jigong Hall, the Huayan Pavilion, the Great Compassion Building, the Abbot Building and other buildings on both sides.
Love it here
The scenic area is well planned. Although many people go to Lingyin Temple, it does not have a commercial atmosphere. It is a rare good temple.
Keep climbing up and you will reach the Taoguang Temple at the top.
The temple is not as magnificent as Lingyin Temple, but it is more peaceful and simple.
On the way back down the mountain, I saw monks from Tibet kneeling three times and kowtow nine times, singing Buddhist songs as they walked up the mountain, which added to the mystery of the temple.
A temple with history and charm is worth visiting again
I hope to go to a temple and stay there for a few days if I have the chance.
We came to the Lingyin Temple of Jigong, with its glittering golden plaque and trees all around. The tall palace and the breathtaking Buddha Mountain. The lively little pigeons, the yellow walls and the reddish-brown fences. We prayed devoutly here and left our little wishes. We took the cable car along the path to the North Peak. The peak was shrouded in fog and we couldn't see much. The Lingyin Temple at the foot of the mountain was looming. We talked and laughed along the way and collected the blessing sachets.
Be sure to go early. We took bus No. 7 at 8 o'clock on a weekday. There were not many people on the bus and there were seats. We got off the bus and went to the mountain gate. There were not many people in the scenic area, at least we could take pictures away from people. When we came out of Lingyin Temple, it was not yet 11 o'clock and there were tourists everywhere. We went to the Yongfu Zen Temple next to it. There was a spring in Yongfu Zen Temple flowing down the mountain road, and the scenery was even more beautiful. We didn't climb the temple on the top of the mountain because we were too tired. The two of us went back to the foot of the mountain and took the cable car up and down the North Peak. When we returned at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the No. 7 bus was basically full, and we stood all the way back. This is the rhythm, for friends who are going later.
After breakfast, we went to Lingyin Temple. It was drizzling that day, which added mystery and loneliness to such a Zen place. If you want to go to Lingyin Temple, you need to buy a ticket to Lingyin Feilai Peak first. With this ticket, you can visit other small attractions besides Lingyin Temple, such as Yongfu Zen Temple. If you want to enter Lingyin Temple, you need to buy another ticket, which comes with 3 incense sticks.
The incense in the main hall is very popular. Even in winter, the trees are very lush, the stone walls are like screens, and the vegetation and water flows are very poetic.
Different from the northern temples with red walls and golden tiles, Lingyin Temple has yellow walls and black tiles. The contrast of bright colors gives people a clear feeling. Perhaps it is for this reason that Lingyin Temple has gradually become a must-visit check-in spot in Hangzhou. However, when strolling in this thousand-year-old temple, I can't help feeling solemn and dignified, and I have less interest in taking pictures.
If you need to enter Lingyin Temple, you need to buy a package ticket, which is not cost-effective. The scenic spot can only be said to be average, just blown up by people. The ancient temple is real, but I can only say that if you want to go, you can go and have a look.
There is a guide to avoid congestion at Lingyin Temple
I only want to tell the people who read this note.
The Didi driver said that he had been driving for so many years and didn't know
If you see it, don't tell anyone.
You can take a taxi to Gate 6 of Lingyin Temple.
Choose "Hangzhou Buddhist College"
Not congested at all
It's so crowded to enter through the main door
But there are very few people on the way in and out from here
You can breathe oxygen
According to legend, more than 1,600 years ago, an Indian monk named Huili came to Hangzhou and saw this peak and said in surprise: "This is a small ridge of the Vulture Peak in India. I wonder how it came here?" Therefore, it was named Feilai Peak. He believed that Feilai Peak was the place where "immortals hid", so he built a temple facing the mountain and named it "Lingyin".
There are Buddhist stone sculptures from the Five Dynasties on Feilai Peak, with various shapes and scattered in large and small caves, which is very strange. Because I heard before that you can't take pictures of Buddha statues, I always obey it.
Because I had just been to Putuo Mountain the day before, it was inevitable to compare them. Compared with the crowded Puji Temple, Lingyin Temple was much quieter despite the constant flow of pilgrims. It may be because Lingyin Temple is much larger than Puji Temple. The 500 Arhats Hall shocked me. It took a long time to look at them one by one.
During this special period, many attractions in Hangzhou require advance reservations.
To go to Lingyin Temple, you need to book the ticket for Feilai Peak first, and then buy the ticket for Lingyin Temple after entering the park on the same day. The ticket for Feilai Peak also includes Taoguang Temple and Yongfu Temple, so there is no need to buy separate tickets for these two temples.
You can enter the scenic area with your health code.
The temperature in Hangzhou in early September is still a bit high, especially in the afternoon, when the sun is shining brightly. Fortunately, Lingyin Temple is surrounded by green trees, and the dense forest is like a huge parasol for people.
On the screen wall at the gate of Lingyin Temple, there are four big characters written: "The Western Paradise is just around the corner". As long as you are devout to Buddha, your connection with Buddha is just around the corner.
The ticket to Feilai Peak is 45 yuan. Lingyin Temple is within the Feilai Peak scenic area and an additional ticket fee of 30 yuan is required to enter.
Although it is a ticket, the Feilai Peak stone carvings and the Buddhist culture of Lingyin Temple are still worth appreciating and savoring. Since you are here, don't waste the ticket money for Yongfu Temple and Taoguang Temple. The only thing I want to complain about is that the ticket price is too expensive. In addition, don't waste your energy climbing to the top of Feilai Peak...
The main reason why I included Lingyin Temple in my itinerary was because it was where Jigong once lived, and I wanted to see it with my own eyes. Although it was a weekday, there were still many tourists in the temple, and there were many tour groups, which made the environment in the temple a little noisy. The temple is large in scale, and the three-dimensional group sculptures of "Cihang Pudu" and "Fifty-three Pilgrimages" on the back wall of the main hall are particularly shocking. Looking up, you can see the gods and Buddhas staring at you, which makes you feel awe.
To enter Lingyin Temple, you need to buy a ticket for Lingyin Feilai Peak as well as a separate ticket for Lingyin Temple. After entering the temple, you can receive three incense sticks for offering.
The most satisfying place around West Lake is Lingyin Temple. I rushed to the opening time but found that there were already many pilgrims. The bright yellow building gave it a unique temple style. The temple was busy but orderly in drawing lots and chanting scriptures. Although I didn't know much about Buddhism, I felt the piety in front of the Buddha. In addition to the temple scenic area, there is also a large viewing area. There are not many tourists and it is very suitable for walking and slowly savoring.
"There are creeks and mountains everywhere, but I love Lingyin Feilai Gu the most" - Following Su Shi's poem, on the third day we went to Feilai Peak to look for the traces of Lingyin Zen. Legend has it that Feilai Peak got its name because a thousand years ago, an Indian monk Huili came here and saw the rocky peaks and the unique scenery. He said in surprise: "This is a small ridge of Lingjiu Mountain in Central India. I wonder how it flew here?" So it was called Feilai Peak. Lingyin Temple is located in front of Feilai Peak. It is one of the famous "Ten Temples" in Chinese Buddhism. It is called Lingyin, "where the immortals hide."
The most valuable treasure of Feilai Peak is the "Feilai Peak statues". The continuous stone statues of Buddha beside the mountain road are quite shocking, including Maitreya, Guanyin, Dashi, etc. The expression of the Buddha is looming under the shade of the mountains and forests, showing a more detached atmosphere. The big-bellied Maitreya is laughing with his chest and belly exposed, which is in line with the saying "tolerate the world's difficult things and laugh at the world's ridiculous people". It seems that there is a rainbow across the sky, and my mood suddenly becomes brighter.
You need to buy a separate ticket to enter Lingyin Temple. When you enter the door, you will see the four big characters "近尺西天". My understanding is that as long as you have Buddha in your heart, Buddha is actually very close to you. The yellow high walls, the tender bamboo leaves, and the unique color matching of the temple set off a strong Zen atmosphere.
In front of the Main Hall, the air is filled with incense and people are burning incense and praying devoutly; the "Hall of Five Hundred Arhats" in Lingyin Temple is another very interesting place. The main hall adopts a swastika pattern and enshrines five hundred bronze statues of Arhats. They have different shapes and are very lifelike, but unfortunately taking photos is not allowed.
I caught the high-speed train back in the afternoon. Although I was reluctant to leave, I couldn't stay too long to take another look at this Zen-like green.
This is a very popular temple. When I was a kid, it was a separate temple. Now it surrounds Feilai Mountain and two other temples. You need to buy the first ticket to enter the park, which is 45 yuan. You need to buy a separate ticket to enter Lingyin Temple, which is 30 yuan. You can buy tickets with Alipay and enter the park with a QR code. There are many people who come to pray, and it takes most of the day to walk around. The entrance and exit of the scenic area are not in the same place. You can take a taxi and queue up. You can walk a little further.
The majestic and magnificent main hall of Lingyin Temple is breathtaking, with the sound of Buddhist chanting and the sound of bells and chimes. The five-story main halls at the front and back enshrine different Buddha statues, each of which is more than ten meters high. Looking up at it, you will feel solemn. Behind the main hall are hundreds of lifelike Buddha statues with different expressions and behaviors, and there are bronze statues of eight hundred arhats in the side halls. Each Buddhist hall is worth lingering.
Lingyin Temple is the place where Living Buddha Jigong became a monk, so it is also very famous. Lingyin Temple is inside the Feilai Peak Scenic Area. The ticket to Feilai Peak is 40 yuan, and you need to buy another 30 yuan for incense money to enter Lingyin Temple. There is a vegetarian noodle place near the entrance. I ordered a Fulu Noodle, which is a noodle in clear soup with vegetables and mushrooms. You can eat it when you come to the temple. It is not expensive, 15 to 18 yuan. I like Lingyin Temple very much because many of the temples are very old, and the black tiles and yellow walls are very beautiful in the shade of the trees. It is very cool inside without an umbrella. There are many small animals, such as turtles, koi, pigeons, and I also met a cat with a very good temper. There are two more temples that are free of charge after coming out of Lingyin Temple, but you have to climb stairs continuously, so I only went to one.
Lingyin Temple was first built in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (326 AD), and has a history of about 1,700 years. It is the earliest famous temple in Hangzhou and is relatively large in scale.
2010.10.6 Today, the first stop of Hangzhou tour is Lingyin Temple; the environment is beautiful and the sense of history is profound;
The store is closed during the pandemic! But the surrounding area is beautiful and Feilai Peak is also very scenic.
The temple, built on the mountain, is very large in scale. The Buddha statues inside are majestic, especially the carved wall at the back door of the main hall, which is very shocking.
Lingyin Temple is solemn and dignified, with many incense offerings. Feilai Peak has winding paths and Buddha's light shining everywhere.
Lingyin Temple and Feilai Peak. Not bad...
This is a temple built very early. It is worth visiting. The walls are very distinctive.
The thousand-year-old temple, flowers, trees, fish and birds all exude spiritual energy.
How can you not visit Lingyin Temple when you are in Hangzhou? This is the place where I have heard the story of Monk Jigong since I was a child! The scenic spot is very large, so it is recommended to visit it after understanding the background of the scenic spot.
A good place to burn incense and worship Buddha. The temple will provide three incense sticks for free, but an additional fee of 30 yuan is required.
The Buddha statue on Feilai Peak is very beautiful, but unfortunately it has been severely damaged.
There are two styles of Bodhisattvas: Northern Wei and Tang
Lingyin Temple is within the Feilai Peak Scenic Area, so you need to buy a 45 yuan scenic area ticket first, and then you need to buy another 30 yuan temple ticket after entering the scenic area and reaching the temple gate 500 meters away. Lingyin Temple is very popular, and people coming and going, listening to the sound of bells and drums, and the monks chanting and meditating, will feel clear in their hearts. We have something to fear and pray, so we put our hands together, perhaps this is the meaning of religion, often comforting, because of fear, so we should do more good deeds.
I went to Lingyin Temple on the first day of the Lunar New Year. What I didn’t know was that there are the most people on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month, let alone the first day of the Lunar New Year. There were huge crowds of people, praying for good health in the new year!
I heard that everyone who comes to Hangzhou must go to Lingyin Temple. Lingyin Temple is a must-see attraction. After leaving Hangzhou Station, we took the bus and headed straight to Lingyin Temple. Without a tour group, we felt much freer. The scenery here is full of historical sites and stories, and we can only take a quick look. Some scenery is just a passing glance, and we follow the large wave of tourists to visit one attraction after another. At this time, I was in a mood to concentrate on enjoying the scenery and listen attentively to the introduction of the tour guides of other tour groups.
This is a temple with a very long history. Although it has undergone several renovations and repairs because it could not withstand the ravages of history, the Buddha statues in the temple are breathtaking and worth a visit.
Everything about Buddhism is fascinating, especially here.
It has been raining for almost two months, and it rarely stops for two days...
I got up early to pray.
Lingyin Temple is a relatively efficacious temple, and the legend of Jigong adds a mysterious color to it. Because we went there in February, there were relatively few people. Although we didn't see Lingyin Temple under the snow, it was still very spectacular and spiritual.
It is said that Lingyin Temple does not charge admission. It turns out that this is a lie. Not only does it charge admission, but it also charges double admission.
In the morning, monks perform morning prayers, and the deep Buddhist chants calm people's hearts. This is probably the most popular temple in Hangzhou.
Lingyin Temple, it was Laba Festival when I went there, it was open for free! The incense was very popular! You can also see Leifeng Pagoda opposite.
One of the best places to take pictures of ancient style, and also one of the largest Buddhist temples in Hangzhou. Recommended
The incense in Lingyin Temple is very popular, and the management of the entire scenic area is very orderly. Lingyin Temple does not allow you to bring your own incense into the temple, you need to buy it in the temple.
It seems that you need to buy a ticket to enter, and you can't worship Buddha casually, so I didn't go in, but the environment here is really good
The architecture of Lingyin Temple is not majestic, and even not as grand as the temples you usually see. However, between the mountains and rivers, and between the word "Buddha" at the entrance, it makes people feel sacred and pious.
We lit incense and silently expressed our hopes very devoutly.
The Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou has a quiet environment and is worth visiting.
If you want to enter Lingyin Temple, you must first visit Feilai Peak. If you want to visit all of them, you need good physical strength and time to savor them carefully.
In the distance, the dark Mei Mountain is covered in silver and painted in red and blue. Below the Lingyin Temple, the scenery is everywhere.
I go to Lingyin Temple 1-2 times a year. The environment there is really great. The mountain is not very high and you can easily climb to the top. The air is fresh and it is very quiet. You can see little squirrels jumping around. It is a place I really like!
When I went in, I happened to see a tour guide explaining the Buddha statue, so I went over to listen. It was very good. I highly recommend that if you have the opportunity, you should take the initiative to listen to the explanation. If you don’t understand the background, it will be too boring to just look at the Buddha statue by yourself.
After entering Lingyin Temple, each person can receive three incense sticks. After entering, there are many people praying sincerely in front of the main hall. Accompanied by the simplicity and solemnity of the temple, it is very contagious, and even the impetuous heart gradually settles down.
The bright yellow and vermilion colors are interwoven everywhere, warm and passionate. The thick incense is lingering in the temple. The ancient corridors are ancient and fragrant, and the most charming time is when it is quiet.
Any light and shadow has a breath far away from the mundane world.
The scenery in the Lingyin Scenic Area is beautiful and comfortable. Even if you don’t burn incense or enter the temple, it is still worth a visit.
Lingyin Temple is a great place with a lot of fairy spirit
There are many people, a very quiet leisure place
Lingyin Temple, also known as Yunlin Temple, is backed by Beigao Peak and faces Feilai Peak. The founder of Lingyin Temple was the Western Indian monk Huili. It has a history of about 1,700 years and is the earliest famous temple in Hangzhou. Backed by Beigao Peak and facing Feilai Peak, the two peaks are sandwiched, with towering trees, ancient temples in the mountains, and clouds and mist.
Lingyin Temple is indeed an excellent place to cultivate one's body and mind.
Located in the city, hidden in the mountains
It's just that the autumn in Hangzhou is so intense and the mountains are even colder.
Buddha said: To reach bliss, you need to go through 9981 trials
Being frozen into a 🐶 is probably the first hurdle to entry.
Lingyin Temple is very famous in Hangzhou. It is very popular and many non-Hangzhou citizens come here to burn incense and worship Buddha. There is a day every year when free vegetarian porridge is given away. Many people come here specifically to line up for porridge on that day in order to get a little bit of good fortune.
Lingyin Temple has a long history. It is an ancient temple with a history of more than 1,700 years. It is one of the ten ancient temples of Chinese Zen Buddhism.
The treasures of Hangzhou are not only the West Lake, Lingyin Temple also has a long history!
The incense is very popular. As soon as I entered the temple, I was shocked by the solemn atmosphere of the temple.
I heard that Lingyin Temple is very effective. If your wish comes true, come and fulfill it.
The iconic attraction of Hangzhou. This place is definitely a must-visit attraction. It is called a temple, but I think it is also a park, because the scenery inside is really good. Especially when you go to the top of the building, you can see the whole Hangzhou.
If you want to pay homage to Jigong, you can come here. If you like to visit temples, worship Buddha, and see historical heritage, it is also a good choice.
The thousand-year-old temple has beautiful scenery. The stone statues on Feilai Peak have artistic characteristics. It’s just that the top of Feilai Peak is not well built, which is disappointing.
Lingyin Temple is a tourist attraction near the West Lake in Hangzhou. It is located together with Feilai Peak. It is also the most popular temple in Hangzhou. You will be given three incense sticks when you enter the door. You can follow others to worship.
If you want to go to Lingyin Temple, you must buy the ticket to Feilai Peak. When checking the ticket, the machine will say "Amitabha", and it does not say "Please come in". Most of the impressions of Lingyin Temple come from Jigong. Feilai Peak has a very quiet environment. Each person has one ticket to enter Lingyin Temple.
Each person will be given three sticks of incense, and the staff will say "Amitabha" to you. No matter what your faith is, you should still worship devoutly.
There are different Bodhisattvas in every temple. I don’t know them all, but I still worship them all and make a wish for my family to be healthy and safe.
Keep going back, the temple is getting higher and higher. There are other temples on the mountain.
No wonder people used to practice in temples on the mountain. This environment is really quiet, far away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence and leisurely seeing the southern mountains.
I feel that everyone's words and deeds here have become quiet and solemn. This is probably the emptiness of the mind. I have a deep understanding.
These are the attractions you must visit when you come to Hangzhou, no explanation needed.
A friend I follow online, Lingyin Temple is a frequent theme in his lens. The shade of trees in summer, the sweet-scented osmanthus in autumn, the koi jumping out of the water in spring, and the snowflakes on the eaves in winter gave me my first impression of Lingyin Temple. Going up the mountain from Lingyin Road is a long and gentle slope. The reflection of the sun on a cloudy day, the trees and vines on the whole road dye the lens green. You need to buy two tickets to enter Lingyin Temple. The first is the ticket to enter Feilai Peak for 45 yuan/person, and the Lingyin Temple incense and flower ticket for 30 yuan/person. At the entrance of Lingyin Temple, an aunt will hand out a stick of incense, so you don’t need to bring in incense specifically. At first, I thought the golden osmanthus in September fell to the ground in a very imposing manner, but later I found that it was not, but the golden osmanthus filled the cracks in the steps and fell on my shoulders and hair. In addition to being a Buddhist holy place, Lingyin Temple is also the birthplace of Longjing tea. The original tea fields of Longjing tea were here, and now they have been protected and turned into a Longjing tea research base. Walking to the right from Lingyin Temple, you will see tea plantations on both sides and local residents roasting tea every three or five steps.
The main entrance fee is charged, and Lingyin Temple charges a fee separately. I want to hit someone.
I sigh that the Feng Shui around Lingyin Temple is really good. The small village in a corner is full of vitality. It is just a farmyard, but it is also a paradise. What a lively mountain gate! The incense of Lingyin Temple is prosperous, and it makes people happy. I think no one will only go to Lingyin Temple once in this life. This place has a magical power to me. No matter how noisy the city of Hangzhou is, on the way to Lingyin Temple, the road is lined with green trees, and the world seems to be quiet. Outside the mountain gate. There are several differences in Lingyin Temple. One of them is that the mountain gate is not open, and the entrance is through the side door (left road). The tour guide said that it will only be opened during major Buddhist activities or important guests. I fell here in Lingyin Temple. It was on the gentle slope of the steps. It was raining and wet. I fell hard without paying attention. I just thought that the Buddha must have something to tell (admonish) me! Civilized worship of Buddha, the three incense sticks at the entrance were distributed by volunteers. The volunteers had uniform red vests and were in order. Yunlin Volunteers is a volunteer organization of Lingyin Temple. A large part of the service staff of Lingyin Temple are volunteers. The temple also has many related activities to participate in, such as copying scriptures, lay activities and the interpreters here. This time, I learned a lot from the explanations of the volunteers. Lingyin is a place with outstanding people and beautiful scenery. All creatures have spirituality, such as the vines on Feilai Peak, which are intertwined; such as the lush branches and leaves outside the main hall. Huayan Hall is the highest point of Lingyin Temple. Huayan Hall is located on a higher ground. The starting point of the steps is just behind the Sutra Library in front. The sunset is approaching, and the light and shadows are dancing, as if all the troubles are melted in this mottled. Lingyin Temple is definitely not a place to visit only once. I am always looking forward to my next visit.
On September 23, 2018, I went to Lingyin Temple with my mother to burn incense and worship Buddha, and I also encountered a squirrel 🐿️
I feel that the name "Lingyin Temple" is particularly fairy-like. Lingyin Temple is located in the Feilai Peak scenic area. The ticket to Feilai Peak is 45 yuan per person, and it costs another 30 yuan to get to Lingyin Temple. All tickets support electronic tickets.
The overall color of Lingyin Temple is yellow, while most temples in the north are red, which is also a characteristic of the south. The architecture here is very exquisite, and with bamboo forests and green trees everywhere, it has a Jiangnan charm.
After buying tickets at Lingyin Temple, there will be an electric sightseeing bus. I still recommend taking it. It costs 20/person and does not include the return trip. However, the driver is a villager and is very familiar with the history of that area! He will introduce it along the way. Although it is a quick tour, I think it is very interesting, because if I walk by myself, I really can't finish it in one day.
I highly recommend Lingyin! Because the sculptures and statues are super exquisite! Then I visited so many temples by myself, and I found that there are generally no jade reclining Buddhas in Guangdong temples, but there are in Jiangsu and Zhejiang! When I went there, I happened to run into Feng Zikai's cartoon exhibition, the theme of which was "filial piety and kindness", which I thought was very good. The stream outside Lingyin is very clean and comfortable! You can go and play in the water.
Lingyin Temple is part of Feilai Scenic Area. The 45 yuan ticket we bought includes Feilai Peak Statue, Yongfu Temple, and Taoguang Temple. But it does not include Lingyin Temple, which requires an additional 30 yuan.
If you take a taxi to the scenic area, the drop-off area is very close to the gate. The entrance to Feilaifeng Scenic Area is on the left, and the ticket office is on the right.
It is recommended to buy tickets for Feilai Scenic Area online in advance. There may be a long queue at the entrance, but don't worry, there is a place to scan the QR code to buy tickets next to the ticket office. However, if there are too many people, it will be blocked, so you can pay attention.
As for Lingyin Temple, you can buy it after entering the scenic area, opposite the Feilai Peak statue, and then walk two steps along the way to Lingyin Temple.
If you can get up early, I definitely recommend going to Lingyin Temple (Feilai Peak Scenic Area) at 6 o'clock. When I first climbed Lingyin Temple a few years ago, it was 6 o'clock. The evening drum and morning bell were ringing, and it was quiet. When I turned around, I could see the thin smoke from the incense burner, and the background was the beautiful main hall of Lingyin Temple. It was the same when I walked to Yongfu Zen Temple. One end of the small bridge was in the woods, and the morning sun shone through the leaves. These scenes are still fresh in my memory after so many years.
The recommended order of the tour is Feilai Peak Statue - Lingyin Temple - Yongfu Temple - Taoguang Temple - (there are also three Tianzhu Temples, which can be visited if you are interested and have the physical strength) - the scenic area battery car exit
Feilai Peak Statue
Among the statues on Feilai Peak, there are more than a dozen statues from the Five Dynasties period, and the largest number of statues is from the Northern Song Dynasty, with more than 200. A statue of Maitreya Buddha from the Southern Song Dynasty with a smiling face and several Arhats surrounding it is the most vivid.
Lingyin Temple
It was first built in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and its founder was the Western Indian monk Huili. The royal family of each dynasty issued imperial decrees many times to honor it. The stone pagoda and the pagoda of Lingyin Temple are national cultural relics protection units, located at the entrance of Lingyin Temple. The lotus-seated statue of Sakyamuni in the main hall is one of the tallest camphorwood seated Buddha statues in China. On both sides of the platform in front of the main hall, there is an octagonal nine-story imitation wood structure stone pagoda, which is more than seven meters high and has exquisite carvings on each side. According to the ancient architecture expert Liang Sicheng's research, the two stone pagodas were also carved in the late Wuyue period.
Yongfu Temple
Since the founding of the temple by Zen Master Huili in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it has a history of more than 1,600 years. It has experienced several ups and downs and has been rebuilt many times. There are no particularly old cultural relics, but the scenery is very good and beautiful. There are some teahouses and academies inside, which are especially suitable for a quiet stay.
Takkoji Temple
Taoguang Temple was built by Taoguang Zen Master, a famous monk in Shu, and rebuilt by the King of Wuyue in the Later Jin Dynasty of the Five Dynasties. There is a story here. In the rock wall on the top of Taoguang Temple, there is a Dan Ya Treasure Cave, which is said to be the place where Lü Dongbin made elixirs. In front of Dan Ya Treasure Cave is Guanhai Pavilion, which was built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. This was the most suitable place to watch the sea in Lingyin Mountain in ancient times. The couplet on the pillar of the pavilion, "The tower overlooks the sea and the sun, and the door faces the tide of Zhejiang", is a famous line from the Tang Dynasty poet Song Zhiwen. Taoguang Guanhai is also one of the Eighteen Scenic Spots of West Lake and the Twenty-four Scenic Spots of Hangzhou in the Qing Dynasty.
