Longjing Tea is one of the ten new scenic spots of West Lake. It is home to Longjing Spring, one of the three most famous springs in West Lake. Longjing tea brewed with Longjing spring water is absolutely unique.
Longjing is divided into Lao Longjing and Xia Longjing. After renovation, Xia Longjing has become a unified agricultural settlement with many farmhouses, making it a resort for vacation and leisure.
The Old Longjing includes the Longjing Spring, the abandoned Longjing Temple, and the "Eighteen Imperial Tea Trees" that Emperor Qianlong collected during his trip to the south of the Yangtze River.
Every year around the Qingming Festival, tourists come here to visit, drink and learn about tea, which is a very "Hangzhou" experience.

If you have never seen a tea plantation, this terraced tea plantation is still very beautiful. When I went there, it was just after the tea picking season.
It feels like a place selling tea, but the West Lake Longjing is indeed very delicious. You can see a lot of tea fields here.
One of the New Ten Scenic Spots of West Lake, this is a renowned destination for exploring the culture of Longjing tea. West Lake Longjing tea is primarily produced in the Longjing Village area. Longjing tea not only combines the four unique characteristics of tea: color, fragrance, flavor, and form, but also embodies the five famous names of famous mountains, temples, lakes, springs, and tea.
The tea farmers in the tea fields are very friendly, and the tea fields are very large. When you get close, you can really smell the fragrance of tea. You can chat with the tea farmers and taste tea.
"Dragon Well Tea" is one of the ten new scenic spots of West Lake. Emperor Qianlong visited Longjing four times during his six trips south of the Yangtze River. At Longjing Temple, he inscribed the "Eight Scenic Spots of Longjing"—a cloud, the divine rock, the Cuifeng Pavilion, the Crossing Creek Pavilion, the Fenghuang Ridge, the Cleansing Heart Marsh, the Fangyuan Temple, and the Longhong Stream—over four times, inscribing a total of 32 poems.
The scenery is great! We climbed directly up through Shili Langyao! There's a small pavilion at the top! Lots of tea leaves. Then we went down from Wuyun Mountain. If you want to go there, you can also go from Jiuxi or go up from Wuyun Mountain.
The clear water, green trees and blue sky in the south are so beautiful that they are beyond compare and so plentiful that it is outrageous. We can only envy, be jealous and hate them.
The origins of Longjing Village, a scenic spot for exploring Longjing tea culture, can be traced back to the time when a spring and a dragon first appeared, followed by a dragon and a well, and finally a well and a village. Longjing Tea is one of the ten new scenic spots at West Lake and a famous attraction for exploring Longjing tea culture.
Jiuxi is just up the Qianlong Ancient Road. Many private cars kept coming in, probably to buy pre-Qing Dynasty tea. We were also tempted by an older sister. We went into a farmhouse to try the food and taste the tea. I don't drink tea much, but I couldn't resist the temptation and bought some. My dad said it tasted good.
Rise early to pick a handful of Mingqian Longjing tea and watch the tea-roasting master complete each step. Before starting, the wok is heated and evenly rubbed with tea oil. Fresh tea leaves sizzle as they enter the wok, followed by a delicate, warm aroma. Sit on the tea table for a tea ceremony, enjoying a gentle breeze and a quiet moment of tea.
As Tao Ranming wrote, "Picking chrysanthemums under the eastern fence, I leisurely gaze upon the southern mountains," the vast expanse of tea forests will take you away from the hustle and bustle of the city, making you forget you're even in a big city. It feels more like the countryside than a city, where you can leisurely cycle, breathe in the fresh air, and forget all your worries.
Except for the various aunties who pull you to buy tea along the way, everything else is very good. Longjing No. 1 Restaurant is very delicious and the service is very good. It is worth a try.
I met a kind lady at the No. 7 bus stop. I thought she was a good-hearted lady, but it turned out to be a favor. She asked me to go to Longjing instead of Lingyin Temple. When I got off the bus, another lady said she wanted to buy tea too, so we could share the price. Who would have thought that a grandfather would ask for 1,000 yuan per catty. There were holes everywhere. The next day, the lady at the same bus stop was still there. Travelers, be careful.
I went hiking in June. Although the weather was quite hot, the scenery was very beautiful.
Hidden away in West Lake, Yangmeiling Village. There are many inns and small shops worth lingering and spending time.
I was so lucky to meet a Longjing Village resident on the bus who gave me directions. This is a must-visit for anyone looking to buy Shifeng Longjing tea. It's cheaper to buy directly from the tea farmers. But be careful: buy spring tea, not autumn tea. According to locals, autumn tea is treated with pesticides, while spring tea is not.
West Lake Longjing tea is mainly produced in Longjing Village. Longjing tea not only combines the four unique features of tea: color, fragrance, taste and shape, but also combines the five famous names of famous mountains, famous temples, famous lakes, famous springs and famous teas.
The West Lake Longjing teas are known for their distinctive flavors: Lion, Dragon, Cloud, Tiger, and Plum. Teas from Lion Peak and the Longjing region are considered the finest. Their secrets can only be fully appreciated by visiting Longjing Village to taste and learn about the tea, hence the intriguing saying, "Asking about Longjing Tea." The clear, sweet waters of Longjing springs make Longjing tea even more renowned, and visitors flock to learn about it, creating a unique Longjing tea culture.
A place you will definitely pass by during your hike. You can see the vast terraced fields where tea is grown, which is really spectacular! You can go to Longjing Village and find a shop to drink tea and sit down to chat.
Now that you are in Longjing Village, you must ask about tea.
West of Longjing lies Longjing Village, where the surrounding mountains produce tea known as West Lake Longjing tea. Its emerald color, rich fragrance, mellow flavor, and beautiful appearance are praised as its "four unique qualities." A Yuan Dynasty poem about tea by Yu Ji reads, "Cook and simmer the golden buds, not until after Grain Rain. Two or three come together, three gulps, unable to gargle." West Lake teas are distinguished by their hues: Dragon, Cloud, Lion, and Tiger. Teas from Shifeng and Longjing are considered the finest. Their secrets can only be understood by visiting Longjing to taste and understand tea, hence the saying, "Asking about Longjing Tea."
In 1987, we, the Youth League cadres from the Shanghai Electric Motor Factory, went to Hangzhou for recuperation. We once visited Longjing Village, where a tea farmer invited us into their home to drink tea. We didn't understand tea culture at the time, but this cup of Longjing tea is unforgettable. Looking back now, the water was local, the tea was naturally good, the mood was joyful, the throat was parched, and the tea farmer was attentive: all combined to create a cup of tea that will be unforgettable forever. That's all. . .
A tea plantation, the scenery is average, the air is good, but it is too commercialized. Going to the farmer's house to buy tea is too complicated. If you are not careful, you will get caught. Be careful.
Get off at Shangtianzhu Station, walk up the path next to the station to reach the teahouse. There is a path on the side that leads to the archway with the word "Longjing" written on it, and behind it is a small path up the mountain. Going early will make you feel quiet and leisurely.
The scenery is beautiful, the tea is delicious, and the price is reasonable. The locals are very welcoming!
West Lake Longjing tea is ranked in grades as “Lion (Peak), Dragon (Well), Cloud (Coast), Tiger (Run), and Plum (Homewood)”, with West Lake Longjing tea being the best.
West Lake Longjing tea is graded from 1 to 8 based on its appearance and internal quality. The tea from Shifeng is considered the best, known as the "Top of Longjing" for its yellowish color and long-lasting fragrance. The tea from Longjing Village is plump and tender, with visible buds and a stronger flavor. The tea from Meijiawu is finely crafted, emerald green in color, shaped like a golden nail, flat and smooth, with a turquoise tea soup and a fresh, refreshing taste.
The Longjing Tea Scenic Area has quite a few ups and downs, so cyclists should be careful. It's best to take the bus. The scenery is average, so I recommend going around the Qingming Festival, when the first wave of tea is harvested and the weather is not too hot, making it a good time for a trip. There are many teahouses here, so tea lovers can try them out. Prices range from 10 to 30 yuan per cup. For those who enjoy taking photos, this is a great place to snap some photos of tea pickers.
The scenery is quite nice, but the prices are really too high.
Go to Longjing Road and drink green tea, just because I think it tastes right.
I accidentally discovered that this was the filming location for "If You Are the One". There are few cars and people here, so you can go to the Green Tea Restaurant over there.
Away from the hustle and bustle, find peace and quiet
Listen to the cicadas chirping and the water flowing
Watching the mountains move and the clouds go
It's a scenic spot that the locals love. There's no reason not to go there. The scenery is really amazing. It's natural and there's no entrance fee. Haha
Tea plantations cover the hillsides, and during the spring tea-picking season, you can see many tea pickers. You can take the bus or hike from Shili Langyaoling to Longjing. Or you can walk along the Nine Creeks and Eighteen Streams.
To be honest, don't buy tea here. Because I love drinking tea, I came here with a worshipful attitude. When I arrived, I liked the tea trees on the whole hill. After posing for pictures, here comes the point. Many aunties and grandmas will take you to their homes to drink tea. It's free. The key is that you feel embarrassed not to buy it after drinking it. The tea is really good when you drink it. I even watched her fill tea leaves for me from the same bag. The more I took it back and drank it, the less it tasted. It's not as good as what I bought in a small tea shop. The tea I mailed to my parents, aunts and other relatives also received feedback that it was average. So I advise everyone not to buy in the village. You won't be ripped off if you buy in a small tea shop near your home! By the way, the place with Eighteen Imperial Teas costs five yuan to enter. I advise everyone not to spend money. Although it's a small amount of money, there is really nothing to see. It's just fenced tea trees, and there is garbage in the flower beds.
Walking in the tea garden, I can't help but think about the origin of tea.
West Lake Longjing tea is probably well-known to everyone.
Longjing tea has three types: Lion, Dragon, Cloud, Tiger and Plum.
Sort by quality
Shifeng Longjing is the best
Then use the water from the Tiger Spring to brew the tea
Longjing Tea is a dynamic attraction
Not a specific place
Instead, visit the tea fields in Longjing Village
Enjoy tea at a nearby villager's home
Only then can you appreciate the mystery of Longjing tea
Nice place. There is a tea plantation on the roadside, which feels very friendly.
Longjing Village truly lives up to its reputation. Surrounded on three sides by tea mountains, the mountains are covered in Longjing tea. You can only truly appreciate its magnificence when you visit! From time to time, you can even spot tea-picking women, a truly picturesque sight.
The winding path leads to a secluded place. Walking up the mountain along the stream, you can see the tea plantations all over the mountain. You can also go to the farmers to taste tea.
We walked all the way from Jiuxi, but we didn't actually go to Longjing Village. Instead, we "asked for tea" in Yangmeiling Village. Any house with a sign saying "X, Qianlong Road" on the door is a good place to visit. The tea is free to taste, and if you like it, you can buy it. When buying, make sure the tea you're given is the one you've just drunk. Don't buy pre-packaged tea. Prices are fixed: 800 yuan before the Qingming Festival and 600 yuan after the Qingming Festival. We went during the Spring Festival, so perhaps prices will fluctuate after the new tea arrives in the spring.
The local residents are very nice. If you want to go out from there, there are private cars in the local village and you can take a taxi.
Overall, I have a good impression of this village.
It's nice to go and have a look. The environment is very good and there are few people. The only problem is that the location is a bit remote and there are only two buses.
A trip to West Lake is a must for West Lake Longjing tea. Produced in the Shifeng, Longjing, Wuyunshan, and Hupao areas of West Lake in Hangzhou, West Lake Longjing is divided into five varieties: Shifeng, Longjing, Yunshan, Hujing, and Meishan. The Shifeng Longjing tea is generally considered the best. It is flat and straight, with a emerald-yellowish color similar to brown rice. It has a sweet, fresh, and mellow taste, an elegant and refined aroma, and a turquoise-yellow tea. The leaves are delicate and clustered. I went to Meijiawu, where Shifeng Longjing is produced. It's located in the mountains above Jiuxi. The scenery is stunning, and nearly every household has tea trees and tea leaves. You can easily visit any tea shop to drink or buy tea. It's generally divided into pre-Qingming tea and post-Qingming tea, with pre-Qingming tea being more expensive than post-Qingming tea.
Today's itinerary is to visit Longjing Tea Park and Yunqi Bamboo Path. Since Longjing tea is very famous, I want to visit its origin. Yunqi Bamboo Path is especially worth mentioning. As the name suggests, there are a lot of bamboos. But honestly, the feeling inside is indescribable. The air and environment are really first-class. If there is a park like this in Guangzhou, I would like to go there every day. If you go to Hangzhou, this is a must-see.
To go to Longjing, you first go to Jiuxi Shibajian, and then walk to Longjing. It was drizzling that day, which was very poetic.
I feel refreshed just looking at the tea gardens on the roadside.
After getting off the bus, you can see that this is a small park with a Longjing Spring here. There are not many people but it is very comfortable.
I don’t know much about tea, I just know that spring tea is the best and the most expensive.
The simple and elegant teahouse has a view of the Longjing well. The quiet and simple environment makes people relax physically and mentally.
In order to see the beauty of the tea plantation, I went to Longjing Village in the 30-degree heat. I was not disappointed. It was very beautiful, spectacular. I took a few photos, then left because I was so hot...
Longjing Tea, one of the ten new West Lake scenic spots, is surrounded by mountains, creating a sense of paradise far away from the city. The route from Longjing through Jiuxi to Liuhe is also a very famous hiking route in Hangzhou.
While the scenery at Nine Creeks and Eighteen Streams is stunning, the entire route is mostly gravel, so hikers should be sure to wear comfortable, thick-soled shoes. The West Lake scenic spots all have four-character names, making them very artistic and interesting to read.
"The customs of Lin'an are extravagant all year round, and there is hardly a day without enjoyment. The lake in the west is lovely, and the river tide in the east is worth watching, both of which are magnificent.
After walking through the Nine Creeks and Eighteen Streams, you will actually reach Longjing Tea.
Along the way, there are many tea shops, dogs, cured duck, Buddha's hand, tea, and chickens that climb trees.
This road is like a dragon, and of course you need to be in good physical condition. Tea farmers live here, and we met a grandmother who insisted on inviting us to her home for tea. It was hard to refuse her kindness.
I saw the whole process of tea making from the large tea fields - picking tea leaves - selecting - frying tea, and also got to know the tools for making tea. I also tasted fresh Longjing tea, which was amazing.
The sight of the expansive Longjing tea fields is truly delightful. They say that when visiting Longjing, you should sit down at a tea plantation and savor the tea! We chose one to explore the Longjing tea culture.
Hangzhou's must-see attractions are rich in cultural landscapes and you can enjoy tea and play in 3 hours.
Longjing tea is a brand of green tea in Hangzhou, produced in Longjing Village. It has the four unique features of color, fragrance, taste and shape, and it also combines the five famous names of famous mountains, famous temples, famous lakes, famous springs and famous teas.
It is worth mentioning that you must compare prices before buying. The price is not low but the smell is very fresh.
Longjing Village and Jiuxi Yanshu are connected! It's a highly recommended attraction on China-TravelNote. Since there's no entrance fee, there are no tour groups, and it's very quiet! West Lake Longjing is quite famous, so everyone who comes here must buy some. I personally recommend buying it in Longjing Village. The villagers are very welcoming and will invite you to their homes to relax and enjoy tea. You can also choose not to buy it!
The mountains are covered with green, and the eyes are filled with freshness. It feels so good to breathe in the fresh air.
I went to the Longjing tea garden in May. I missed the picking season and there were almost no people in the tea garden. I became a tea picker and brought the tea back to Northeast China to make a plate of Longjing shrimp for my parents. It tasted great. Tea can not only be brewed, but also eaten.
A friend who was studying at a university in Hangzhou recommended that I visit Longjing in the spring, but since my schedule didn't allow for that, I passed by the Longjing fields on my way out of Lingyin Temple. It was truly spectacular! I'll definitely visit next time to make up for this disappointment.
During the Qing Dynasty, this was the tribute tea area. I heard that this was the base for the cultivation of tribute tea for the imperial palace. However, now it has been developed into almost all farmhouses. In addition, a few people do unfair business and sell inferior products as good ones. Most of them are still good...
A very quiet and simple village with warm villagers, fresh scenery and authentic Longjing tea.
A particularly embarrassing thing happened. From Siyanjing to Jiuxi and then to Longjing
It's very quiet. Along the way, this is a natural oxygen bar.
There's a direct bus from Beishan Street (Quyuan Fenghe) to Longjing, and the scenery along the way is quite beautiful. There are many tall trees along the roadside, and as you get closer to Longjing, you'll gradually see lush green tea plants. Once you reach Longjing Village and the valley, you'll be surrounded by tea trees everywhere you look, row upon row, patch upon patch, forming a continuous landscape across the mountain. Throughout the village, many houses have flowers planted in front of their doors: peonies, chrysanthemums, roses, and many more whose names I can't quite name. However, I think the best seasons to visit Longjing are probably spring and summer. In spring, the camellias bloom, their vibrant colors adorning the mountainside with even more beauty. In summer, when the tea leaves are harvested, you can watch the tea harvest and drying.
I love Longjing tea, I love Hangzhou, and I love West Lake. Whenever I enjoy Longjing tea, no matter where I go, I can't help but think of the beautiful West Lake. Perhaps West Lake is a cup of tea in my heart, a cup of mellow Longjing!
Public service, the road is too small and very congested, but the scenery is very good
Tea trees everywhere, the fragrance of tea everywhere—this is the most distinctive feature of Longjing tea. The scenic area is located on a mountain, and the recommended itinerary is to take a taxi to the top and then walk down. It's a relaxing and enjoyable walk while enjoying the scenery. There are buses to the top, but they are slow and inconvenient. Along the way, there are many small shops, most of which claim to sell authentic Longjing tea and even prepare it on site. Don't believe them; they are a 100% scam. Just look at them; it's best not to buy or drink. As you continue down the main road, you'll see clusters of tea trees dotting the mountainside, creating a charming scene. The walk to the base takes about half a day, but we recommend a full day of exploring at a lower intensity for a more relaxed and less tiring experience.
To put it bluntly, it's actually a shopping spot, a place that sells tea. Regardless of whether the tea is good or not, it tastes pretty good, and the prices vary, making it a good souvenir.
Longjing Tea is considered one of the new ten scenic spots of West Lake. Most tourists come here with tour groups. In order to sell you some West Lake Longjing tea, I don’t know much about tea, so you have to judge it by yourself. If you like it, you can buy some to take away. Even if you don’t buy anything, you can come here to taste the tea, learn about the tea culture, increase your knowledge, and take a short break.
If you have more time, you can go and have a look. It's not very interesting and it's a scam. Don't trust the enthusiastic ladies. Hey, someone tried to get close to me on the bus, and when I got off the bus, he insisted on buying me tea, and then asked me to buy more after I finished drinking. The tea that cost 50 yuan would only cost less than 30 yuan outside.
The scenery is beautiful, being in the tea garden is really beautiful
The famous Longjing tea base is located between mountains and forests. There is a forest park near the tea garden. The environment is beautiful. It is very pleasant to escape the heat in the summer, drink tea, and enjoy the fresh air!
The scenery is great and the prices are the same. If you have time, it would be a good experience to stay in Longjing Village for a day or two.
The Longjing tea plantation is located on a tea mountain, with farmhouses and teahouses. As you ascend the path from Longjing Temple, you'll pass by many different tea plantations. You can secretly pick a few leaves to try; the flavor is light, but the tea's fragrance lingers on your tongue. Along the way, lotus flowers swell with vibrant koi fish nestling beneath, adding a touch of color to the lotus pond. A clear stream flows down the mountain (you might see it at the wrong time of year). (Mosquitoes are very common here, so spray some mosquito repellent.)
In this garden leaf, breathe the fresh air!
After leaving Maojiabu, our next stop was Longjing Village. Longjing Village was a bit crowded, considering it's a classic tourist attraction. On both sides were various tea shops, and the price for a cup of tea was around 20 yuan.
