The Nanjianyan Scenic Area is a small area, but it boasts a diverse landscape of seas of clouds, terraced fields, stone forests, bamboo forests, waterfalls, and villages. It's a popular photography destination in Zhejiang, where even a mobile phone can create stunning photos.

Nanjianyan, located in Shisuntou Village, Wangkoucun Town, Suichang County, Lishui City, is a national AAAA-level scenic spot and an "International Folk Photography Creation Base" jointly awarded by UNESCO and the China Folk Photography Association.

I have traveled to many places, but I have never seen a scenic spot with such rich elements. Specifically, here are many landscapes such as terraced fields, sea of clouds, plank roads, bamboo forests, covered bridges, ancient villages, waterfalls, glass observation decks, etc., forming a magnificent fairyland painting. It is known as the "pure land of utopia where one can forget the worldly affairs."

Walking in the mountains, you can see stalagmites that pierce the sky like the "dream pen flowers" of Huangshan, thousand-foot cliffs, fairy caves, a line of sky at Tianzhu Peak, a nine-level waterfall that drops three thousand feet, and colorful terraces dotted with houses... The air is fresh, warm but not wet, and the mountain springs are sweet.

1. Public transportation (within the city): There are two buses from Suichang to Nanjianyan per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The departure time is 7:30 in the morning and 13:50 in the afternoon. The ticket price is 18 yuan.

2. Self-driving: Get off the highway in Suichang and turn onto Sanji Line to reach the scenic area.

3. High-speed rail: Get off at Lishui Station and take a bus to Suichang

Photography Tips: The scenic area can be entered at 5:30 AM. The Guanyun Pavilion, located not far from the entrance, is a great spot for viewing the sea of clouds. However, please note that sunrise is not possible from this location. Due to the higher mountains to the east, you'll need to wait until around 8 AM for sunlight to reach the terraced fields. The main photo spots are concentrated in the front half of the area, so consider making a round trip there.

I have to say that the scenery of my hometown is really pleasant. The ticket was given as a gift for the event, so I didn't spend any money. However, I was afraid of heights and didn't dare to walk on the glass bridge. I gave up halfway 😂😂😂 It's a pity. There are so many tourists during the holidays.

We went to Suichang Nanjianyan Scenic Area in late autumn during the rainy season. There was nothing but rain and fog on the mountain, and most of the time you couldn't see anything, but when the fog cleared, it was truly beautiful!

Driving on your own requires you to travel a long and winding mountain road, which can easily make you carsick. Experienced drivers say it is not difficult to drive, but the road is a bit narrow, so you have to pay attention to oncoming vehicles.

The scenery is nice, but the glass suspension bridge seems expensive. There are glass plank roads along the way, which you can also experience.

On the second day of Nanjianyan's glass skywalk's soft opening, we rushed to visit, but were deeply disappointed. The so-called 5D glass skywalk, which cost a whopping 100 yuan, only had two panels of 5D glass installed, and only one fruit-cutting pattern. We contacted the staff and asked for a different effect, but they told us to call the complaint hotline. We spent so much money to get nothing more than ordinary glass. It felt like a rip-off. Since it's a soft opening, they should listen to more visitors' feedback. The scenic area also hopes to attract more visitors, but how can this attract more tourists? Even though we've been there before, we won't be back, and we won't recommend it to friends. Nanjianyan already has a glass plank walkway included in the ticket price, so there's no need for this deceptive 5D glass skywalk.

There's only one minibus from Suichang Bus Station to the Nanjianyan Scenic Area. If you miss the 7:30 AM bus, you'll have to wait for the 1:50 PM one. The drive is an hour and a half, and it's very convenient for those not traveling by car. The 80 RMB entrance fee isn't too high, and you get so much to experience with the sea of clouds (in the morning), the terraced fields, the glass bridge, the waterfall, and the skywalk—it's well worth the price. The nearby B&Bs are cheaper and more delicious than those in Jinyun. It's also very quiet at night. After waking up in the morning, you can hike 100 meters and then admire the sea of clouds from outside the scenic area. Nanjianyan looks different in the morning and evening, but both are beautiful and worth a visit.

Nanjianyan is 1,626 meters above sea level. You need to take their scenic bus to get there. The winding mountain road has nice scenery, but it's a bit hectic. You have to climb up from the top of the mountain and then back to the top. You can see relatively large-scale terraced fields on the viewing platform. If you encounter autumn harvest, the scenery should be even better. There is a glass plank road on the way. Since the height is not high, it is okay. Surrounded by green mountains, the scenery is really good.

If you visit on a day with good weather and season, the scenery is still worth seeing. There are houses in the depths of terraced fields and white clouds.

The rest is the ordinary mountain landscape, a line of sky, a large slope up and down, a cable bridge, a glass plank road, the glass plank road was newly built this year, you have to wear shoe covers, it is still very clear to see down, there are also protruding rocks on the cliff below, the degree is just right

Lishui is the best place to go, it is a fairy place, you will feel relaxed when you go there, away from the big city, just be sure to prepare floral water

Objectively speaking, the 80 yuan ticket price is not expensive at all compared to some of the expensive tourist attractions in China.

Climbing is a big challenge for those with less physical strength. The restrooms in the scenic area are very clean and hygienic.

The drive up and down the mountain road left a deep impression on me. It made me dizzy! Fortunately, there were not many cars when I went there.

The main landscapes include: Tianzhu Peak, Shentan Peak, Qianzhang Rock, Small Stone Forest, Divine Turtle Exploring the Sea and many other strange peaks and stone structures. The sea of clouds at Nanjianyan is beautiful, but there was no sea of clouds when we went there. However, we saw the sunset and sunset glow, which were also very charming.

Suitable for photography, relatively remote, it takes 1 hour to drive on the mountain road. The scenery is beautiful.

The scenic area is well-managed and developed. The stone steps are hewn into a rough, non-slip surface, and copper rings are placed on the steep cliffs for handholds. A small path leads down to a quaint thatched cottage hidden away. A sign indicates a restroom, but we braced ourselves for the experience. But when we opened the door, we were met with a flush toilet, tiled tiles, and a washbasin. There's even a smoking area... The entire area combines modernity with a natural beauty.

Located in the heart of Suichang's Nanjianyan Scenic Area, Banling Farmhouse B&B in Dakeng Village offers a tranquil retreat, nestled among ancient trees and offering a tranquil retreat amidst terraced fields and shimmering mist. My father's colleague recommended this place to us, describing it as a dream paradise. Initially skeptical, we finally accepted it as a true paradise. In this historic village, you'll see rows of tightly packed adobe houses, each doorway decorated with vibrant wild flowers. On rainy days, strolling through the stone-paved alleys, the sound of water dripping down your face creates a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. Behind the village, fresh air fills our nostrils.

Suichang's beauty lies in its mountains, with attractions like Nanjian Rock, Shenlong Valley, and the gold mines. Our visit to Nanjian Rock boasts a remarkable collection of alpine terraces, seas of clouds, peculiar peaks, bamboo forests, and waterfalls. The road to Nanjian Rock is notoriously difficult to navigate, taking a 40-minute drive from the base of the mountain, and the minibus driver was known for aggressive driving. While the scenic area isn't large, its location, over a thousand meters below, offers expansive views. The steep stone steps carved into the cliff face are particularly impressive. A complete walk around the area takes about an hour, and the steps are quite steep. For experienced hikers, the attractions aren't as impressive as advertised. The terraces and waterfalls are relatively small, and the peaks are unremarkable. However, it still offers some unique charm for city dwellers. There is a small glass platform on the observation deck. Looking down, you may still feel a little afraid of heights. Those who love photography can stay at the top of the mountain for one night (the original price is 80 yuan, and you can get a 25% discount if you buy it yourself. If you stay in a B&B, the owner can take you to buy it, 45 yuan a ticket, and the owner's signature is required on the spot. In addition, those who stay at Nanjianyan Villa should buy tickets at the front desk, and you can enter the scenic area multiple times a day), and go around the scenic area and take photos. Among them, the Copper Ring Steep Road, Longmen Waterfall, Three Peaks Piercing the Clouds and other attractions can be used to take great photos.

Tips: For self-guided tours, there is a shuttle bus to Suichang County every hour from 6:30 to 18:40, with a ticket price of 36 yuan. After that, take a shuttle bus from Suichang County to Shilian Town, which runs about half an hour, with a ticket price of 6 yuan; then there is a bus from Shilian Town to Nanjianyan Scenic Area.

The scenery is nice, but seeing the sea of clouds depends on your luck. The scenery is very complete, but it is a bit remote and it takes time to get there. However, all beautiful scenery will be waiting for you to pursue it in a distant place.

The main thing is that the scenery is super good. Most of the roads are used by locals in the past, and the narrow path of sky has not been fully developed. There is a waterfall, so beautiful~

From the viewing platform near the ticket gate, you can see the terraced rice fields looming in the sea of clouds. The scenery is so ever-changing that even with a tripod, the view is always different. The entire Nanjianyan Scenic Area is filled with endlessly varied and exquisite scenery. I've climbed many mountains, but this one is so unique and incredibly beautiful. It takes about an hour and a half to explore the entire area, including time to stop and admire the scenery and snap photos.

The nominal price for the scenic area ticket is 80 yuan per person, though there are discounts available when booking through various websites. We stayed in what was essentially the largest hotel on the mountaintop; the others seemed to be farmhouse-style accommodations. The hotel was called Nanjianyan Villa, but I'm not sure of the exact price since I didn't book it myself. Dining is generally more expensive on the mountain than at the foot of the mountain.

In short, Nanjian Rock is a place worth visiting. The sea of clouds is extremely beautiful and it feels like you are floating in the air.

It should be more lively if you stay at the entrance of the scenic area. We stayed in Wangjia Village below, a farmhouse at the foot of the mountain in Nanjianyan Scenic Area. The accommodation conditions were not very good, but it was quiet. There is a road in the village that can directly climb to the top of the scenic area, which takes less than 1 hour. I personally think it is more interesting to climb up from the foot of the mountain. Otherwise, the scenic area is very small and it is boring to wander around. There is an intersection on the mountain where people will guard the entrance fee. You can avoid the people collecting the entrance fee by getting up early.

We climbed up Nanjian Rock from top to bottom. We were the only two tourists in the whole scenic area. The scenic spot is 4A-level, but it is just a walk around Nanjian Rock and has basically no special features. The original ticket price is 80 yuan, and the National Day discount is 60 yuan, but in my opinion, this attraction is only worth 20 yuan at most. I didn't feel that there was anything good to shoot with my camera. It was really different from the "photography base" I found on the Internet. I was more disappointed than surprised.

I love this place even more because it's free of crowds, noise, or the hustle and bustle of hawking; everyone is focused on the scenery.
