The cross-shaped inland river system divides Wuzhen into Dongzha, Nanzha, Xizha and Beizha.
The style and layout of the ancient water town in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China are completely preserved, and it is known as the "land of fish and rice, and the home of silk".
· Watching the night view of Xizha, taking a rowboat to roam the water lanes, and watching folk performances are all good experiences in Wuzhen.
If you want to complete the tour in one day, you should arrive in Wuzhen early in the morning, go to Dongzha first, visit Xizha in the afternoon, and watch the night view in Xizha at night.

The environment of the streets between Wuzhen East Gate and West Gate is poor, which gives people a worse impression than other big towns. The tickets to the two gates are very expensive, costing 200 yuan. There is no discount for seniors over 60 years old, just like the Broken Bridge in the West Gate, which makes the elderly want to go there! For the elderly to visit Jiaxing scenic spots, it is better to go to Yuehe Historical Street and Meiwan Street, which do not require tickets! There is also a cheap ticket to Meihuazhou for 20 yuan. I think the scenery of Meihuazhou is better than that of Wuzhen. The peaches at Fengqiao in summer are also famous in Jiaxing!
In terms of cost-effectiveness, Tongli and Xitang have tickets that are only half the price of Wuzhen East and West Gates, and they also have discounted tickets for the elderly. Tongli Qingming Street is very lively, and people line up to enter the Retreat and Reflection Garden, which is far more popular than Wuzhen. Xitang Misty Corridor is beautiful. The following picture is for tourists to see if the scenery of the ancient town is beautiful. This picture is of the ancient town, not in Wuzhen! Look at the picture. People can enter and exit freely in front of the tall ancient city gate, and cars are parked randomly. There is no ticket!
We took an early bus to Wuzhen in the morning. Practice proved that our decision was wrong. Wuzhen is really not worth going there so early. First of all, I would like to remind everyone that if you buy tickets for Wuzhen East and West on China-TravelNote, you must buy them one day in advance. You cannot use them on the day you buy them. And if you buy a combined ticket for East and West, you must use it up within one day. It feels a bit tricky.
The hotel owner said you can just choose to go to either Wuzhen or Xitang, they are both pretty similar.
One of the good impressions of Wuzhen: Qingtuan. Glutinous rice and mugwort juice as the outer skin, red bean filling.
Although the trip to Wuzhen was full of pitfalls in my opinion, the bus ride into Wuzhen was still very beautiful. Any photo taken would be like a postcard.
The so-called night view was really too ordinary, with illegal taxis everywhere, and even the postcards in the scenic area were sold in groups of 10. We left Wuzhen hungry without any regrets, and there was no place to eat in the restaurants outside the scenic area.
For the ticket price, East Gate is 110, West Gate is 150, and the combined ticket is 190. You can enjoy the 150 ticket price when staying in the 7 hotels under the scenic area, and it is valid for the whole day. Two of them are youth hostels. There are also many homestays in the scenic area, but they are almost 500+. The opening hours of East Gate are 7 o'clock and West Gate are 9 o'clock, so if you stay there, there are few people before 9 o'clock in the morning, and you can take as many photos as you want.
Dongzha is actually not very big, but it is definitely not small either, and there are even aboriginal people living there. Nanzha has not been developed yet and is closer to the original ecology. The entire Wuzhen scenic area is very formal, and there will be no random charges. The sightseeing bus at Xizha will go even if there is only one person.
I have visited more than 20 ancient towns, but Wuzhen is my favorite. I think it is the most beautiful place. It is not so commercial. It is a good place with ancient town landscape as the main part and humanities as the supplement. Here you can be in a daze and take pictures quietly. The scenery is so beautiful that you can't take your eyes off it. The scenic area is very large. You can walk around Xizha alone and take beautiful photos for a whole day. It is good news for photography lovers.
There are two gates in the scenic area, and the tickets are one-time. If you go the wrong way and accidentally go out from another gate, you can either buy a new ticket to enter, or your tour guide can take you back, so everyone should pay attention.
I recommend you to try the boat trip in the scenic area. The boat is a group ticket. A boat can take up to 10 people. The charter price is 200 yuan. The 10 of us shared a boat, and each person only spent 20 yuan. It took about half an hour to visit the Dongzha Scenic Area. The oared boat was swaying on the water, with my lover by my side, the breeze blowing, the fish playing by the boat, and the leisurely watching of the scenery on both sides of the river dissipated the fatigue of the travel for days. At this moment, I only thought of "the years are quiet and good"
In August 2017, I went to Wuzhen. Wuzhen was once called Wudun and Qingdun, and has a long history of more than 6,000 years. Wuzhen is a typical ancient water town in the south of the Yangtze River, known as the "land of fish and rice, the home of silk". Wuzhen is located at the northern end of Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, bordering Huzhou City to the west and Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province to the north. It is the junction of two provinces and three cities. Wuzhen has a long history. According to the identification of pottery, stone tools, bone tools, animal bones, etc. unearthed from the "Tanjiawan Ancient Cultural Site" in the east of the town, it belongs to the Majiabang culture type and is in the Neolithic Age. It can be seen that more than 6,000 years ago, the ancestors of Wuzhen multiplied and lived here. Wuzhen has typical characteristics of a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, and has completely preserved the style and pattern of the original water town in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Chen Yunhe's poem "Silhouette of Wuzhen" praises "a world with little influence from modern civilization and a historical page with strong ancient colors." The streets are formed by the river, connected by bridges, and houses are built along the river, forming a water town. It organizes water pavilions, bridges, stone alleys, Mao Dun's former residence and other architectural elements with unique Jiangnan charm. It embodies the humanistic idea of "harmony is beauty" in classical Chinese dwellings, and presents the spatial charm of the ancient water town in the south of the Yangtze River with its overall beauty of harmonious coexistence of natural and human environments.
Accommodation in Wuzhen must be booked on the official website of Wuzhen. It is recommended that you stay in Wuzhen for one night because the night view is super beautiful. The entrance is mainly on foot, but if you stay in Wuzhen, you can take the scenic area battery car unlimited times (from the entrance to the accommodation)
After you buy the ticket at the entrance of the scenic area, there will be an electric car that goes directly to the hostel. The electric car is free to ride, and only people who live in the scenic area have this privilege. Another thing to note is that after buying the ticket and checking in, there is a special check-in area in the ticket hall, which is very obvious. The staff will give you a map of the scenic area and point out where you will check in. In the evening, all the lights of Wuzhen's night scene will be lit, and there will be more rowing on the water. This is also the best time to watch the night view on the boat. In fact, Wuzhen at night is full of beautiful scenery. Friends don’t have to rush. Walking slowly and watching slowly may be the best choice in Wuzhen at night. Although Wuzhen is not big, you need to do it yourself throughout the whole journey. The amount of activities in a day is still not small. Be sure to find a pair of comfortable shoes so that you can walk farther and see more scenery.
Although Wuzhen scenic area is commercialized and not as lively as Xitang, the official hotel package really surprised me, one night for two people with two meals each. The scenery is also very beautiful and charming, the water is green, the trees are green, the sky is blue, and the morning tea in late autumn is very lively. This time I was a bit rushed, so I just took a quick look. I would like to come again if I have the chance in the future.
Some people are fed up with the commercial atmosphere.
I originally wanted to see this legendary ancient town with the most ancient town atmosphere in Jiangnan. I didn't expect that when I saw it, the ancient town that I thought should be very fresh and clean actually looked a bit greasy. Well, maybe I prefer the kind of natural ancient town (covering my face).
In this way, compared with Wuzhen, the Nianbadu Ancient Town that I went to by accident before is more to my taste. The cobblestone alleys glowed yellow in the sunset, and the evening breeze passed over the quiet Fengxi River, creating a golden scale-like wave. And I walked across the Zhupo Corridor Bridge in this dusk scene, turned to the bluestone streets and alleys that glowed with tiredness, and walked on that road. At that dusk, I felt the strong charm of the ancient town, and the air I smelled seemed to contain a bowl of soup made from the ancient town. Well, in this way, I really have to thank my friend for buying a group ticket on Fliggy for me (covering my face).
I went to Wuzhen three years ago and took a photo that I still like today. The tourists dining by the river seemed so relaxed and happy under the orange-yellow lights and the endless stream of cruise ships. Isn't this the life that busy urbanites yearn for?
A haunting town
I am a famous town in the south of the Yangtze River. Wuzhen
—————————
Been here
Never left
Jiangnan
This is the place
Come for you every year
Speaking of Jiangnan
Jiangnan Ancient Town is a must.
There are really many ancient towns in Jiangnan
Among them, Wuzhen, Xitang, Zhouzhuang and Tongli are very famous.
Of course, fame must be accompanied by commercialization
I think business doesn't matter.
The atmosphere of a place
Many times, it will not be lost due to commercialization or too many people.
After all, it is in the "bone"
And the mood of tourists when they travel
After coming here, I really have no regrets
Wuzhen is really "Wu"
Misty Jiangnan
This is reflected vividly in Wuzhen.
Maybe it was when I went there
It was drizzling and cold.
A very unforgettable trip to Wuzhen
Wuzhen
Located in Tongxiang, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province
Located in the "Golden Triangle" of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai
It is a typical ancient water town in the south of China.
Known as "the land of fish and rice, the home of silk"
It is one of the six ancient towns in Jiangnan.
In addition to the bustling West Gate and East Gate
I prefer the old town Nanzha
Retains the original flavor
Life in Jiangnan Water Village
There are not many businesses in Nanzha
Some specialty shops
Such as blue printed cloth, wood carving and bamboo carving,
From time to time, one or two people sit
The fishermen are leisurely and contented.
Although people always say that Wuzhen is too commercialized and there are too many people in Wuzhen, if you love the ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River, you must go to Wuzhen to have a look. It is worth coming here, despite the large number of people and the fact that it is commercialized. Wuzhen is divided into Dongzha and Xizha. In fact, there is also Nanzha, which is free and worth visiting. There is a strong market atmosphere there, far away from commercialization, very Wuzhen. After talking about Nanzha, let's talk about Dongzha and Xizha. Dongzha and Xizha are separated into two places, not far apart. Xizha is much larger than Dongzha, and there are many attractions to visit. It is very suitable to stay here for a few nights and quietly feel the unique atmosphere here. At night, the Xizha Cinema will also show open-air movies, which have the taste of childhood. In short, Wuzhen is worth it. Don't listen to the crowd and say not to go to Wuzhen. Wuzhen is worth going.
About Wuzhen
Stay in Tongxiang at night. It's not even 9 o'clock in the morning when I arrive in Wuzhen. I can stay in the scenic area until lunch. The tour group only arranged Dongzha. I wanted to go to Xizha to see the Mu Xin Museum. What a pity... I'll save it for next time. Next time I come, I want to watch the Wuzhen Theater Festival. Stay in Xizha to see the Mu Xin Art Museum! It's so literary!
There are only two roads in Dongzha. The left side is commercial scenery and the right side is cultural attractions. The most interesting thing is that the right side is also full of locals. Some locals open their doors and set up things to sell at home. Then there will be people with stamps on their arms nearby to prevent tourists from buying. It's really to prevent the left-behind elderly from spending extra money. But it's a good thing, otherwise they would have to set up things outside their homes and occupy the road!
There are several good attractions, including Mu Xin's former residence and Mao Dun's former residence. It's not bad to visit them. There are two high-pole boat performances on the exit lake every day, but it's a pity that I didn't see them.
In the afternoons and early mornings of Xizha, there is a sense of creation in every corner. There are various folk museums in between, and a fulfilling day is spent checking in at each one. Sometimes we hate not the commercialized scenic spots, but the unreasonable sky-high prices and the unfeatured goods, but Wuzhen is obviously a perfect place. If you are tired, you can stop at any time to enjoy a cup of coffee or a piece of dessert in the beautiful scenery.
Wuzhen is one of the first batch of famous historical and cultural towns in China, one of the top ten charming towns in China, a beautiful town in China, and a national 5A-level tourist attraction. It is known as "the last waterside town in China". It has a civilization history of more than 7,000 years and a town history of 1,300 years. It is a typical ancient water town in the south of China, known as "the land of fish and rice, the home of silk". With a history of 6,000 years, it is one of the 20 Golden Week forecast attractions in China and one of the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River.
First, visit the most beautiful night view of Wuzhen West Street. Located on the West Street of Wuzhen, adjacent to the ancient Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, West Street consists of 12 small islands, which are connected by more than 70 small bridges. The river density and the number of stone bridges are the highest in the country's ancient towns.
Xizha is an open-air ancient town museum, which is worth walking through and experiencing slowly.
The scenery of Wuzhen is so beautiful. Especially at night. When the small houses on both sides are lit up, this beauty is really beyond words. You must do your homework in advance when going to Wuzhen, and it is best to use the map flexibly. It is very likely that you will be directed to a different parking lot because the parking lot is full, and then you will be completely lost after entering Wuzhen.
To be honest, Wuzhen is not suitable for elderly people with weak legs and feet. Pushing a stroller is simply a nightmare. The scenery of up and down small bridges and flowing water is beautiful, but it is too inconvenient to walk.

When booking a homestay on the official website of Xizha Scenic Area, you cannot see the specific location. If you need to book more than 2 rooms and want to be close together, it is best to call the customer service first, because the 2 homestays may be far apart. I booked homestay No. 56 for my mother at 410/night. The breakfast was very rich. The number on the light box was the homestay room number. Check-in is usually at 15:00 in the afternoon. If you arrive first, you can give your luggage to the front desk of the tourist center to be delivered to the homestay for free. After checking out, you can give your luggage to the owner of the homestay, who will arrange to deliver it to the service desk of the tourist center.
I dreamed of returning to Jiangnan, and felt that I belonged to that place, the water town in my dream - Wuzhen
Wuzhen is a place I have always favored. Although it does not have the hazy misty apricot blossoms, nor is it the season of dark green spring breeze, I still want to go there in the winter with a dreamy feeling to feel that prosperous but not frivolous, worldly but not accidental, thousand-year-old town that stores the fleeting years. When we grow old, we can still cut a piece of the moist youth forgotten here, think of it tenderly together, and savor it carefully.
“I wish to turn into a stone bridge, to be blown by the wind, exposed to the sun and rain for 500 years, just to ask the one I love to walk across the bridge…” The bridge in Wuzhen has memories. It records many clear encounters, interprets beautiful misses, and stores the helplessness of the heart. It lies quietly on the water, accompanied by the slowly flowing time, collecting, drying and sealing these stories for a thousand years, waiting for the destined person to come with the wind and continue the beauty…
Leaning on the railing and admiring the view, I can't help but sigh, staying is just a moment, but looking back is a lifetime!
Wuzhen in winter is not as cold as the ice and snow. Just looking at the drooping willows, the deep green everywhere, and the green moss in the cracks of the bricks in the corners, you would mistake it for the warmth of spring and summer! The coldness that gradually penetrates and spreads all over the body has become a deep memory of Jiangnan! Walking in the long alleys is like wandering in a tunnel of time. Touching the decayed door panels, passing the mottled pink walls, stepping on the wet stone pavement, it seems that along the alley, you are sent to the distance, through a thousand years of sorrows and joys...
The alley is long and high. The warm sunshine takes advantage of the gap and goes into the old door to comfort the old man who is carrying the years in his heart and interpret the lonely story in the wooden door... Those yellowed and dusty years, five hundred years of cultivation to pass by each other in this life, a thousand years of cultivation to support each other in this life, and to stay together in this life, make a wish in this ancient town marked by time...
No matter how much I put into my heart, I still feel that the beauty of Wuzhen is not understood, and there is always a little regret. Some people say that if it is so perfect, all that is left is regret. Yes, others may come to reminisce about a forgotten and moist youth, or they may find an indescribable feeling. What about me, what do I do in Wuzhen? I want to use the tenderness of the water town to moisten my pure heart and put it into the dream of the water town...melt...the years like water...
I have been to Wuzhen three times, spanning more than 10 years, and each time I went there, there were big changes. The last photo, with street lights, is Wuzhen in 2002. The photo on the bridge is Wuzhen in 2013, and the other two are photos from 2019. You must see the night view of Wuzhen now, so you have to stay overnight, and you have to stay in the scenic area. First, it will feel better when it's late at night, and second, the ticket to the scenic area is a one-time purchase, unless you live in the scenic area. Although Tong'an Inn is expensive, the artistic conception of the riverside house is indeed good. Saturday is the most unsuitable time, there are many people. I went there in mid-April. At 11 o'clock in the evening, there were still many people in the alley, and it was even more crowded during the day. There are fewer people on Sundays. The boss said that November is the off-season.
For Wuzhen, whether it is the small and beautiful East Gate or the ladylike West Gate, they show the beauty of the Jiangnan water town vividly. It is recommended that you go to the East Gate first and then to the West Gate. Relatively speaking, the East Gate is smaller. The two places are charged separately, and you can also buy a joint ticket.
I really like the tranquility of Wuzhen. It is like a girl from a water town in the south of the Yangtze River. She does not fight or compete, but is also the most dazzling one in the crowd.
The night view of Xizha is very beautiful, and Dongzha is very small. There are aboriginal people there, both are worth seeing.
Why do I have to comment twice every time to take effect? I'm tired of it.
Suddenly I can't remember the courage I had to set out in the first place.
It is recommended not to wander around the gate. I was riding a bicycle in the scenic area and encountered two accidents. The first one should be an old man riding an electric tricycle. He rode from the back to my left rear side. There was a two-wheeled electric tricycle on my left, which was very close to my car. The old man directly rubbed my bicycle and rubbed my left ankle. It was a few meters away. After the old man passed by, he looked back at me. I was looking at my feet. He saw that my foot injury was quite serious and ran away directly. He couldn't shout and no one cared. Also, when I returned to the hotel, an old man with his grandson rode a motorcycle directly from my left side and turned right. I braked immediately and scared me. I went to find him. The old man was very powerful and said that he would hit it if he hit it. He was very arrogant. I was very angry that I didn't ride a bike like this. Besides, there were children on the car. I saw him say that and I left. I feel that the quality of people in the scenic area needs to be improved. It reminds me that it is the old people who have become bad, or the bad people who have become old. I don't want to play at all.
It's beautiful, when the sun sets. It's really beautiful, super clean, and well managed.
I paid 900 yuan for a big bed. The towel in the shower room was very dirty, like it had been used to wipe shoes. The key point was that they put the clean side outwards, and I wiped my wet hair with it as if it was clean and dry. The next morning I reported it to the service staff. She said it was a floor towel. I said how could a floor towel be hung on the shower door? Even if it was a floor towel, it couldn't be so dirty. The service was totally inconsistent with the 900 yuan price.
The two boats return late at night, the lonely clouds and the weary birds fly back.
It’s a moonlit night by the bridge in Wuzhen, and I still wake up to see the mountains in my dreams.
The wind blows the colorful boats in the bright moon, and the water on Yuanyang Lake is as blue as the sky.
There are young men in the city who can sing and dance, and they also imitate the beautiful eyebrows, which annoys the Duke.
"Overnight in Wuzhen, Recalling the Gentlemen Who Traveled with Me" - Historical Records of the Ming Dynasty
The place is very big. We went there in the afternoon and walked until about 8 pm. The night view is very beautiful. The place is really big and we didn't finish walking around. The tickets are a bit expensive.
It is definitely worth a visit. It has the exquisite characteristics of the Jiangnan water town and is suitable for taking photos and checking in. You can experience it slowly. It is recommended to stay for a few more days.
There are many people and the scenery is good. If you go there from Hangzhou, you can take a bus. It's very convenient
What can I say, this place is too commercialized, it's really not my cup of tea...
I came here a long time ago, and I really like the feeling that the locals turn their lives into scenery.
Only when you get away from the noisy crowd can you hear the gentle whispers of Wuzhen!
The small bridges, flowing water and houses are beautiful from day to night, beyond expectation
I take my mother and son out for a trip once a year. I finally brought my mother to Wuzhen, the beautiful Jiangnan town that she has always longed for. There is no need for this trip this time, it is really too beautiful.
It is an ancient town but not an ancient town in the traditional sense. It is very fashionable and avant-garde. Wuzhen is one of the first batch of famous historical and cultural towns in China, one of the top ten charming towns in China, a beautiful town in China, and a national 5A-level scenic spot. It is known as "the last waterside town in China". It has a civilization history of more than 7,000 years and a town history of 1,300 years. It is a typical ancient water town in the south of China, known as "the land of fish and rice, the home of silk". With a history of 6,000 years, it is one of the 20 Golden Week forecast attractions in the country and one of the six ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. It was rated as a historical and cultural city in Zhejiang Province in 1991; since 2013, it has held the Wuzhen Drama Festival; on November 19, 2014, it became the permanent venue of the World Internet Conference.
The place I have always wanted to go after watching Time Flies is indeed beautiful.
Wuzhen is generally quite exquisite. With the serious commercialization and the title of world famous town, the prices are very high. The night view is beautiful and the night is relatively comfortable.
Mr. Mao Dun's hometown, with its small bridges and flowing water, is full of ancient charm, revealing the spirit and beauty of the Jiangnan water town. Although Wuzhen has gone through more than 2,000 years of vicissitudes, it still retains the original style and pattern of the ancient water town. The wood and stone carvings on the beams, columns, doors and windows are exquisitely crafted. Local residents still live in these old houses. The whole town is built along the river, connected by bridges and streets, and houses are built along the river. The deep courtyards present a simple, bright and quiet atmosphere. It is a typical "small bridge, flowing water, and people" in the south of the Yangtze River. The stone slabs, old wooden houses, and the breath of clear lake water seem to suggest a kind of sentiment and atmosphere.
It was so beautiful. I felt like I was traveling through a different country when I went there.
The hotels in Wuzhen are all managed by a group, so it is quite good. There are expensive and cheap, modern and ancient style hotels in Wuzhen. Anyway, each has its own characteristics and is quite beautiful. There are also B&Bs. You will see many B&Bs in the scenic area. Most of them are like ancient inns, with food downstairs and people living upstairs. You can see their kitchens clearly when you walk by outside. They are very clean and give you the feeling of your own kitchen. I think you can try the "dining halls" of these B&Bs.
Wuzhen really deserves the 5A title, with beautiful scenery, nice people, delicious food and a long history.
There are many reasons why I think Wuzhen deserves the 5A title, one of which is the delicious food here.
The store is clean and sanitary, the staff wear uniforms, the service attitude is excellent, and the price is very affordable compared to other scenic spots.
I highly recommend the shredded radish pancake (3 yuan each), which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, oily but not greasy. The freshly fried pancake is still sizzling with oil. The boss only fries the pancakes and packs them in bags himself.
Basically, everyone who bought Dingsheng Cake would buy a duck leg. I sat on the steps under the eaves about 10 cm above the stone road (basically sitting on the ground) and ate the duck leg. It was really delicious. I raised my head from time to time and made eye contact with passers-by. I was often asked where I bought it. We were really living advertisements.
Looking out over the White Lotus Tower, it feels great. Picture 3 is a pillow made of silk
The tea at the National Music Theater in Figure 4 seems to be like the herbal tea from my hometown and tastes pretty good.
Figure 6 and 7: The potato shreds are not very spicy, the egg pancake is ok, and the preserved egg and lean meat porridge is ok
Wuzhen is indeed well developed and managed. There are small scenes everywhere, which can be easily painted. Even the toilets and garbage rooms are so artistic.
At this time, I found that there were fewer and fewer tourists, and it was getting later and later, but the feeling of visiting Wuzhen was getting better and better. Each pier was like a stage, sitting or standing, it was a play, whether there were people or not, it was interesting. Although they were all developed scenic spots, this kind of development still better reflected the beauty of Wuzhen, which was exactly the feeling I came here for.
When you come to Wuzhen, of course you have to take a boat ride. Even though it costs 60 yuan per person and the children can also pay the adult price when they grow up, you will always feel like something is missing if you don’t take the boat. What’s more, there are not many people on the street except for the tourists who live in the town. With such bright lights and such beautiful bridges and flowing water, how can you not take a boat ride?
The most distinctive feature is that the houses all have similar architectural structures. Pay attention to this point. Suzhou failed to attract me to buy souvenirs, but Wuzhen attracted me. You must try the small dumplings, a specialty of Wuzhen. They are really delicious, more delicious than ordinary biscuits. I suggest you go to a store that allows you to taste all the flavors. The one I went to only had two flavors.
Because we were traveling with a group, we only went to Dongzha District. The tour guide said that if we stayed in Wuzhen, we could buy a combined ticket to stay in Xizha District, because the night view of Xizha District is very beautiful. It started to drizzle as soon as we arrived in Wuzhen, which really made us appreciate the beautiful scenery of "Yanyu Jiangnan".
A very friendly town. The people there speak very nicely. There are so many inns, but it feels like there are few real residents in the community, most of them are tourists.
The ticket is 150 yuan. We chose Xizha, which is more expensive than Dongzha! Xitang seems to be 100 yuan. You can refer to it. It is more cost-effective to join a tour group than to go by yourself, and joining a tour group can be regarded as semi-free travel!

Basic Information
Wuzhen is a famous water town in the south of the Yangtze River, and it also has local characteristics. However, it is not recommended to go there in the summer, as it is too hot and crowded.
The most classic and iconic scene of Wuzhen, a classical Jiangnan water town~~
Don't buy in Dongzha, there is nothing to see. Don't go to Xizha too early, it's best to go in after 4 o'clock. The reason is that it is not as beautiful during the day as at night. If you go to Dongzha, there is a scenic bus in Dongzha to take you to Xizha for free. Just ask people or pay attention to the signs. Wuzhen is very beautiful! !
Small bridge, flowing water, people; beautiful scenery, many people, too noisy
There were still a lot of people going there on the fifth day of the Lunar New Year. I walked from one end of the street to the other and took a boat ride. The feeling of the Jiangnan water village was still very good. I lived close, so I came in the morning and left in the evening. It would be more interesting to stay a little longer.
Unlike the retro ancient city of Taierzhuang, this place completely preserves the style and pattern of the ancient water town in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Houses built along the river, deep courtyards, high ridges and eaves, stone paths, and old wooden houses all seem to suggest a kind of sentiment and atmosphere. We only visited Dongzha, and later we found out that there were many other beautiful places we didn't see, which was a pity.
The overall feeling of Wuzhen is old streets and alleys, a small town on the river, and commercial streets on both sides.
Tickets: 150 yuan per adult (half price for students)
Open-air movie: starts at 7 o'clock, and will not be shown even if it rains.
Storytelling: It starts at 7 o'clock, and the dialect is so dialect that I can't understand a thing.
Gaol boat: There are performances at 10:30 and 14:30 respectively. They will be cancelled in case of bad weather.
Tips:
1 If you go to the scenic spots in the afternoon, there will be more people. Many scenic spots stop opening at around 5:30. It is better to buy tickets for the night show. The night view of Xizha is much better. It seems to be only around 60. There is no news about the night show on the official website. It was said by the hotel owner. I didn’t verify it. Friends who are interested can go to the ticket office to check.
2 Student tickets are half price, be sure to bring your student ID!
3 There are routes on the Gaode map, and you won’t get lost if you follow them.
A small town with very standardized services. Xizha is very big, with many tourists, good accommodation conditions, few people in the early morning and pleasant scenery.
The most important thing is the accommodation. It is best to stay in Xizha. Although it is more expensive, it is definitely worth the money. There is a clear difference between Dongzha and Xizha. Dongzha is more friendly to the people, while Xizha is strictly managed in all aspects, from check-in to the comfort of the room, the service of the landlord, park management, hygiene, safety and other aspects are all in place, and you can really experience a higher quality trip. I don’t know if it’s because I just came out of Disney, but I feel that the prices of goods in Wuzhen are not high, and each has its own characteristics. If you need it, you can buy it. Catering. It seems that there is no very distinctive food. Hangzhou cuisine, mutton noodles, and the restaurant of the landlord of the homestay can all be tried.
Wuzhen is divided into two major scenic areas, Xizha and Dongzha. The ticket for Xizha is 150 yuan/person, the ticket for Dongzha is 120 yuan/person, and the combined ticket for East and West is 200 yuan/person.
You can choose to stay in the scenic area, where there are homestays and inns, which are a bit expensive, or you can stay outside the scenic area for a little cheaper.
If you want to see the night view in Xizha, it is recommended to take a cruise. The cruise in the East and West Zha is charged separately. The one-way fare in the East Zha is 30 yuan/person, and the one-way fare in the West Zha is 60 yuan/person. Xizha is very beautiful in the evening.
The homestay is in the scenic area. We walked in through the gate. Along the way, we were greeted by the warm residents, the simple atmosphere, the fresh air, the cool breeze... everything was so cozy and comfortable...
The tour guide introduced the history of each scenic spot with a loudspeaker. We followed him and bought a special snack of Wuzhen: Dingsheng Cake. The taste was OK. I remember my mother had made it several times before, but the shape was different, but the taste was better than this.
I forgot what the other snack was called, but it was really delicious. I remember when I was a child, it sold for 20 cents each. They were quite small, so I would run to the market with my pocket money to buy them after school every day.
We walked to the residential area of Wuzhen to experience the slow pace of life and find a place to have dinner. After dinner, we walked up the street in front of the store. We felt like locals who had lived here for more than ten years. We just walked on the street after dinner. When we were tired, we sat on the stone pier beside the road and emptied our minds. We just sat there...
There are almost no traffic lights on the streets. Cars always wait for people here. Only when pedestrians walk to the other side will cars slowly move forward. I am used to people waiting for cars in Guangzhou, so the sudden change is a bit hard for me to adapt.
Wuzhen at night has an indescribable flavor! The streets at night have an indescribable tranquility! There is not too much noise, only the evening breeze caresses your cheeks! Let the restless heart during the day calm down instantly!
I particularly like the architectural style of Wuzhen, which is made of wood, stone and bricks. The beauty of Jiangnan is irresistible to me! I am particularly grateful for the two days I spent in Wuzhen. Every day was sunny. Walking on the stone pavement, I could always smell a faint wood fragrance, which made me feel relaxed and at peace.
Since Wuzhen doesn't open until 9 o'clock every day, it's really pleasant to get up early in the morning to go shopping, and there are few people.
There are still many small shops selling things on Wuzhen's pedestrian street, but they feel better than those in the city. The density of shops here is not high, and there are no strange modern signs or anything like that to destroy the quaint atmosphere. The night view of Wuzhen is indeed still quite beautiful.
It is divided into Dongzha and Xizha. The Time Like Water was also filmed in Wuzhen. Most of the things left over from the film and television are still there. You can go to reminisce about the Time Like Water, and there is also the Mu Xin Memorial Hall which I like very much... Although the Wuzhen Theater Festival in recent years has hyped Wuzhen a lot, it still does not affect the flavor of Wuzhen itself.
Most people have a dream about Jiangnan, with winding streets, boats sailing on clear water, flying eaves and corners, white walls and black tiles, narrow alleys, and green stone slabs, like a beautiful woman. But these people may not be able to feel it. Only when you are there, her features will gradually become clear. Wuzhen can do it.
The setting sun, the small bridge and the flowing water. Simple and elegant.
There are too many people, so it is difficult to feel the charm of the ancient town. It is well managed and very clean. The public toilets are also high-end. As a tourist attraction, the scenery is still good, but the accommodation is relatively expensive.
The houses, lake and sky of the entire ancient town seem to be connected together. Sitting by the lake and watching the people coming and going, the wonderful feeling is hard to describe. At that moment, it seems that I have forgotten many troublesome little things in life, and at that moment I seem to become very calm.
I especially wished that time would stop for a while, so that I could quietly appreciate the lake, the passing boats, and the people walking on the bridge, and feel the beauty of the moment. Seeing that scene suddenly reminded me of Shen Congwen's poem: I have crossed bridges in many places, seen clouds many times, but have only loved one person at the best age.
All the yearning for the ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River began in Wuzhen.
Friends who have been to Wuzhen say that it is too commercialized.
The most original feeling of the ancient town has been lost.
But I think every ancient town has its own unique charm.
The night in Wuzhen is the most beautiful I have ever seen.
Even with the huge crowds of people, I still feel
There are some places that once you visit, you don’t want to leave.
The team building program arrived in Wuzhen at night. The activity was a night cruise. The entrance ticket + boat ticket cost 260 per person, which was very expensive. The night cruise was very pleasant. The boatman would give some simple explanations when arriving at a place. The lights at night concealed the shortcomings of the commercialized ancient town and made the tour more pleasant.
All tickets to Wuzhen are valid for one day, so it is best to choose a full day to visit, East Gate in the morning and West Gate in the afternoon. However, I heard that if you stay in the scenic area, the ticket is valid for two days. I haven't tested it myself, so you can call the hotel in advance to inquire.
The ticket price for the East Scenic Area is 120 yuan, the ticket price for the West Scenic Area is 150 yuan, and the combined ticket price for the East and West Scenic Area is 200 yuan. No tickets are required for South Scenic Area and North Scenic Area, which are basically where the people of Wuzhen live. There is nothing to visit in North Scenic Area, but there is an old street in South Scenic Area, so you can go there if you have nothing to do.
Take note: There are human-powered tricycles in Wuzhen that carry passengers. They are said to be managed uniformly by the government, with a rated number of passengers and fixed license plates. They are quite professional. But it is useless for the government alone to be reliable. These tricycle drivers are not necessarily reliable. They are just like taxis that take detours. The prices are not very cheap either. It is recommended that you turn on the navigation when riding and don't be cheated.
Walking into Wuzhen, you will see white walls, black tiles, small bridges and flowing water. Everything before your eyes carries the strong charm of Chinese ink paintings, with carved beams and painted buildings, and old houses in stone alleys.
This place, known as the "land of fish and rice, and the home of silk", has been a favorite place for literati and poets to chant poems and chat since ancient times. It is also the hometown of the great writer Mao Dun.
If Dongzha is a beautiful girl from a small family, then Xizha is a lady from a big family. Dongzha is more popular because of the locals living there, but it has some minor shortcomings. Xizha is a pure scenic spot and very commercial. If I have to choose, I still like Dongzha, which is more in line with my Jiangnan in mind.
Take note: If you have enough time, it is best to stay in Wuzhen for one night to make your trip complete.
I read the travel guide in advance, and it recommended visiting Dongzha in the morning and Xizha in the afternoon, because the night view of Xizha is more beautiful, so I followed this route.
There is a self-service ticket machine at the entrance of the scenic spot, and it seems to be 150 yuan per person. I was a little surprised about the ticket for this scenic spot. I thought I could enter after booking a room. Who knew that the room and the scenic spot ticket are two different things. There is no way, I can only spend money to buy the scenic spot ticket and swipe Alipay.
Enter the service center, go to the front desk to check in, and then check in your luggage. The staff told us that the roads in the scenic area are all stone roads, which are not easy to pull suitcases, so they suggested that we check in our luggage.
We went to Wuzhen during the May Day holiday and stayed at the Meigao Hotel in Puyuan at night. The scenery of Wuzhen West Gate is so beautiful with small bridges and flowing water! So this attraction is highly recommended, but the ticket is a little expensive. As soon as I came in, I saw poplar flowers floating in the air, and some people even said they were dandelions! Hehehehehe
Wuzhen Tourist Service Center mainly handles accommodation reception, luggage storage and ticket sales.
There are three types of tickets for Wuzhen Scenic Area: 1. West Scenic Area 150 yuan, 2. East Scenic Area 120 yuan, and 3. East Scenic Area combined ticket 200 yuan. Most tourists choose the third type. Tickets for tourists staying in the scenic area are valid for two days. You can register with your ID card at the customer service center for face recognition. You can enter West Scenic Area unlimited times, and East Scenic Area can be entered once at 3 pm the next day with the ticket. Tickets for tourists not staying in the scenic area are valid on the same day (one entry to West Scenic Area and one entry to East Scenic Area). We chose the combined ticket and planned to see the night view of West Scenic Area that night and go to East Scenic Area at noon tomorrow.
The ticket office of Wuzhen Tourist Service Center is the same price as online ticket booking. It is recommended to book tickets on site. As long as you avoid national holidays and weekends, there won't be many people and you don't need to worry about long queues.
You can look at the back of the ticket, you may find useful information, for example, it costs 10 yuan to take a rickshaw from Xizha to Dongzha! Don't wait until the driver says 30 yuan, then you bargain down to 20 yuan, and you are still secretly happy about your "greatness", but in the end you find out that it only costs 10 yuan, then you will be embarrassed!
Wuzhen Scenic Area is different from other scenic spots. The hotels, homestays and inns in the entire Wuzhen Scenic Area are all owned and managed by Wuzhen Group. Wuzhen's accommodation caters to different consumption levels. The high-end hotels in the scenic area cost thousands of yuan, while the mid-range ones cost hundreds of yuan per night.
As you walk out of the hostel, a Jiangnan water village appears before your eyes, and everything seems to be in a dream. Walking across the small bridge and brushing the flowing water, you will see people everywhere.
All the houses in the ancient town are built by the water, allowing people to truly appreciate the lively beauty of the water town!
When traveling to Wuzhen, you must pay attention to the weather. The view is best when it is clear during the day, but the night view is not greatly affected at night. All kinds of weather are acceptable.
Wuzhen is a thousand-year-old town with quaint interior landscapes. However, since the streets are narrow old streets, it is recommended to travel there in the off-season. There will be too many people and it will be difficult to turn around and walk, so the experience will naturally not be very good.
Friends who travel by car are advised to drive to the underground garage of the scenic area to experience what is the most atmospheric and luxurious underground parking lot. It will definitely satisfy you! The parking fee is not expensive, only 20 yuan/day~
Wuzhen is divided into two major scenic areas, West Scenic Area and East Scenic Area. The ticket for West Scenic Area is 150 yuan per person, and the ticket for East and West Scenic Area is 200 yuan per person. I personally think that visiting West Scenic Area is enough, as East Scenic Area is similar to West Scenic Area. If you have enough time, you can visit both, as long as you make sure you can see both the daytime and nighttime views.
You can explore the daytime scenery of Xizha in about three hours in the afternoon, and then spend another three or four hours in the evening to experience the night scenery. It is definitely worth the trip for one day and one night! Recommended index six stars!
Seeing so many people in this off-season scenic spot, I really want to say, Motherland, you have so many children!
The knife on the bridge is hanging upside down. I am almost hanging upside down.
Because of my stubborn temper, the more people advised me to do it, the more I refused. I walked 3 kilometers to the old street and walked around twice, and then I was in so much pain.
We sat down to eat at 4 o'clock. It was a nice looking restaurant in the old street. The chef was an old man who looked very old.
