Historic Inn Plains

Does anyone have a contact email for the Inn. I’ve tried messaging through Facebook and emailed the address on their F/B page. I’ve also sent a message through the Friends of Jimmy Carter website. All to no avail. Trying to save the cost of a transatlantic phone call as they don’t appear to be on WhatsApp.

Do you think there’s a neighbouring business who might be able to pass on a booking request?

It sounds like you've made several attempts to contact the Historic Inn in Plains, but haven't had much luck. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be challenging to reach smaller businesses, especially if they don't have a robust online presence or prefer limited digital communication. Here are a few suggestions to help you get in touch:

1. Double-Check the Contact Information:

It's always a good idea to double-check the contact details on the official website or other trusted sources, like a local tourism page, in case there is a more up-to-date or correct email address. You could also try calling their main phone number to confirm the best contact method if you don't want to make an expensive transatlantic call.

2. Visit the Local Chamber of Commerce or Visitor Center:

Since Plains is a relatively small town, the local Chamber of Commerce or visitor center could be a helpful resource. They often work closely with local businesses and might be able to pass along a message or provide an alternative contact for the Historic Inn. If they don’t have direct contact details, they may at least be able to provide a physical address or help you in other ways.

3. Try Local Businesses Nearby:

If you're unable to reach the Inn directly, you could try contacting other local businesses in Plains, especially those that are tourism-oriented, like nearby restaurants, shops, or the Friends of Jimmy Carter organization. These businesses might have a better working relationship with the Inn and could pass along a message or booking request for you. Many small businesses collaborate and share resources, so they might be willing to help.

4. Social Media Alternatives:

  • Instagram: If the Inn has an Instagram account (or even a personal page), that might be a more direct way to reach out. Often businesses are quicker to respond on platforms like Instagram, especially if they check their messages more frequently.
  • Twitter: If they have a Twitter presence, a tweet or direct message could catch their attention more than Facebook messages or emails.

5. Consider a Local Travel Agency:

If you're still having trouble, a local travel agency in the area might be able to assist you with bookings or act as an intermediary to get in touch with the Inn. They often have local contacts and can make arrangements on your behalf.

6. Last Resort: Phone Call

If all else fails and you need to book urgently, it might be worth considering a short international call, especially if it's critical to your travel plans. Alternatively, you could use internet calling services like Skype or Google Voice, which can be much cheaper than a traditional transatlantic phone call.

In summary, while it’s frustrating not to get a response through Facebook or email, reaching out to other local businesses or institutions in Plains might be your best bet. They may be able to pass along a message or provide a different contact method for the Historic Inn.
