1 Bdrm Condo- Need Outside Parking
We are looking for accommodations January 27-31.
Affordable price (<$350 night) with shuttle service, hot tub on property, washer/dryer (in unit is preferred but on property would work).
We are struggling trying to find a 1 Bdrm Condo Slopeside/Ski Village area with an easy and short walk to gondola that has outside parking spaces. Parking garages will not work as we are traveling in our high roof van that needs about 11" clearance.
If we cannot find slopeside/ski village area accomodations, we are considering:
- Trailhead Lodge (ride the Wildhorse Gondola to the ski village). They have 2 outside parking spots.
- First Tracks (nearby property to Trailhead) where we could use hot tubs at Trailhead but it looks like a longer walk than we'd want.
- Homewood Suites or Holiday Inn because both have outside parking lots.
We like the space and cozy feel of a condo but if the big hotels have sitting areas with a fireplace, maybe that could be an option.
Would appreciate advice or recommendations please! Thank you!!!
Finding a 1-bedroom condo in Steamboat Springs during late January with slopeside access, outdoor parking, and amenities like a hot tub and washer/dryer can be a bit challenging, especially with your van’s height restrictions. Here’s a breakdown of options and considerations:
Slopeside/Ski Village Condos with Outdoor Parking:
- True slopeside condos in the Ski Village area typically rely on parking garages, which may not accommodate a high-roof van. There are limited properties with dedicated outdoor spaces, so you may need to prioritize either proximity to the gondola or parking access.
- Trailhead Lodge is a strong option: It offers outside parking (two spots) and slopeside convenience via the Wildhorse Gondola to Ski Village. The hot tub and cozy condo-style accommodations are appealing, and you can request a unit with in-unit washer/dryer.
- First Tracks is nearby and allows access to Trailhead hot tubs. However, the walk to the gondola may be longer than you prefer, so it’s ideal only if outdoor parking and hot tub access outweigh proximity concerns.
Hotels with Outdoor Parking:
- Homewood Suites and Holiday Inn both provide outdoor parking lots suitable for high-roof vehicles. These hotels generally have cozy common areas with fireplaces and comfortable seating, which may replicate some condo feel. Rooms are larger than standard hotel rooms but may not have full kitchen facilities.
- These hotels also offer shuttle service to the slopes, but timing and frequency can vary. Confirm in advance to ensure it meets your ski schedule needs.
Other Considerations:
- Check directly with property management regarding outdoor parking availability and dimensions. Some condos might allow reserved spots or street parking for oversized vehicles.
- Flexibility on walking distance versus parking may be key. If you prioritize parking, staying slightly further from the gondola with shuttle access might be more practical.
- During peak winter weeks, early booking is critical to secure both outdoor parking and desired amenities at condos.
In summary, for your specific needs, Trailhead Lodge appears to be the best balance between ski access, outdoor parking, and condo-style amenities. If proximity to the slopes is less critical than parking and comfort, Homewood Suites or Holiday Inn could be viable alternatives with easy parking and communal cozy spaces.
