Holoholo Airport Transfer

Hi

Last time I was in Hawaii was 10 years ago so I’ve forgotten the transport company I used back then (they were awesome)

I’m flying into Honolulu and looking for airport transfer for 4 adults to hotel in Ala Moana area and back to the airport when it’s time to fly back home.

Can anyone recommend an affordable and reliable options please that has no hidden costs.

I’ve found Holoholo but I’m getting mixed reviews on this. We don’t intend on hiring a car because we’re not familiar with driving on the other side of the road & road rules.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

For airport transfers in Honolulu, especially for 4 adults going to Ala Moana and back, reliability, transparency in pricing, and comfort are key. Since you’re not renting a car, a private shuttle or transfer service is the most convenient option. Holoholo is one option, but as you’ve noted, reviews are mixed, and some travelers report inconsistent service or additional charges.

Here are some recommended and well-regarded options for airport transfers in Honolulu:

  • Roberts Hawaii Airport Shuttle: Established, reliable service with flat-rate airport transfers. Offers private and shared shuttles with clear pricing and no hidden fees.
  • Polynesian Adventure Tours: Known for professional drivers, punctual service, and multiple vehicle options for groups. They provide private transfers directly to hotels like Ala Moana.
  • SpeediShuttle: Offers both shared and private transfers with upfront pricing. Easy online booking and confirmations, typically reliable for first-time visitors.
  • Chartered or private van services: Companies like Hawaii Taxi Vans or Aloha Shuttle offer private vans that can comfortably accommodate 4 adults with luggage. Rates are often per vehicle rather than per person, giving good value.

Additional tips to ensure a smooth airport transfer:

  • Book directly with the service provider to confirm no hidden fees, luggage charges, or extra wait times.
  • Request a private transfer for your group of 4; it may cost slightly more than shared shuttles but avoids delays and multiple stops.
  • Confirm pick-up and drop-off times, especially for your return flight, as traffic in Honolulu can vary.
  • Check if the service provides real-time tracking or driver contact to ease communication upon arrival.

Overall, while Holoholo is an option, using a more widely reviewed and established company like Roberts Hawaii or Polynesian Adventure Tours provides peace of mind, clear pricing, and reliable service for both arrivals and departures.
