What to do with 2 kids this weekend
Hi,
We are staying in Barnstable this weekend (Apr19-21). It's going to be 2 families with 2 kids(3 year olds).
What are good options of things to do with the kids. I see that a lot of places are closed for Easter.
One option we have is the waterpark in Margaritaville.
Thanks for any recommendations in advance
It sounds like you have a fun weekend planned in Barnstable! Even though some places may be closed for Easter, there are still plenty of great activities for families with young kids. Here are a few options to consider for your weekend:
- Waterpark at Margaritaville (Falmouth) – This is a great option for your kids! The indoor waterpark at the resort offers plenty of splash zones, water slides, and other water-based activities for little ones. It’s perfect for a rainy or cool day when you want to stay inside but keep the kids entertained.
- Cape Cod Children’s Museum (Hyannis) – This interactive museum is great for kids of all ages. It has hands-on exhibits and activities designed to engage toddlers and preschoolers. From art stations to climbing structures, your 3-year-olds will have a blast. It’s a fun way to spend a couple of hours, especially if you want to stay indoors.
- Beaches (if weather permits) – Depending on the weather, a visit to one of Cape Cod’s many beaches can be a great way for the kids to run around and explore. Check out Craigville Beach in Barnstable, which has calm waters that are perfect for young children. Just be sure to bundle up if it’s chilly.
- Heritage Museums & Gardens (Sandwich) – While the garden may be a little early in the season for full bloom, the Heritage Museums & Gardens offer a lovely experience with its wide-open spaces for kids to run around. The museum’s carousel is a big hit with younger children, and the grounds are beautiful for a leisurely stroll with the family.
- Wildlife Sanctuary (Wellfleet Bay) – If your kids enjoy nature, the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary offers short trails, outdoor exploration, and opportunities for spotting birds and other animals. It’s a peaceful and educational activity that’s perfect for a family day out.
If the weather is a bit iffy, you can always consider visiting the Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis, which has a small play area for kids to burn off some energy.
Make sure to check hours of operation and availability for each activity, as some places may have special Easter hours. Whatever you decide to do, there’s plenty to keep the kids entertained on Cape Cod! Enjoy your weekend!
