Enterprise return at LAX.

Nobody informs newcomers that the return location is on Bellanca Way and this is not on airport property. I had to search for an hour to get the correct address to enter into GPS. Why are renters not informed of this location when they pick up their car? Last time I had to sit in bumper to bumper traffic at the airport to go all the way around, inch by inch, until some bystander told me where to go. This is really frustrating in addition to all the other miserable aspects of driving in LA. I won't be back; at least not to LAX.

Returning a rental car to Enterprise at LAX can be unexpectedly complicated, especially for first-time visitors. Unlike some other rental companies that have on-airport locations, Enterprise’s LAX rental return is located off-airport on Bellanca Way. This off-site location is not always clearly communicated to renters at the time of pick-up, which can lead to confusion, stress, and wasted time searching for the correct address.

Here are some helpful tips and considerations to make the process smoother:

  • Before your trip, check the official Enterprise LAX page for updated drop-off instructions, including the exact street address (Bellanca Way) and any shuttle procedures to the terminals.
  • Allow extra time to reach the off-airport lot, especially during peak traffic hours in Los Angeles, as driving around LAX can be slow due to congestion and road closures.
  • Enter the address for the off-site lot directly into your GPS rather than relying on “LAX Enterprise” search terms, which may point to the wrong location.
  • Call Enterprise customer service if you are unsure of the route—they can provide step-by-step directions from the terminal or surrounding roads.

Additional advice to reduce stress during rental return:

  • Plan to arrive at least 60–90 minutes before your flight to account for shuttle transfers from the rental lot to the airport terminals.
  • Watch for signage along Bellanca Way indicating the Enterprise lot; the lot can be easy to miss from the street.
  • If traveling with a group, designate one person to navigate while others manage luggage to save time and reduce frustration.

Overall, the key issues are lack of clear communication at pick-up and heavy LAX traffic. Being aware of the off-airport location and planning extra time can make the return process much smoother. While this is an annoying aspect of driving in Los Angeles, preparation and patience can prevent a repeat of the hour-long search described by many travelers.
